"My dear, Callista," The Pastmaster began. "I will offer you that I will keep out villains like Dark Kat, thus dropping crime to an all-time low, but only if you marry me and let me turn Megakat City back to the dark ages."

"Every time you ask me the same question," Callie said.

"No," The Pastmaster protested.

"And every time I give you the same answer."

"No!"

"I'll die first."

The Pastmaster growled at Callie's refusal. "You're becoming much more trouble than your worth, Callista!"

"Say what you will, but I can't be manipulated, I will not be coerced and you absolutely got nothing to bribe me with," Callie calmly rejected.

"That's it! Just keep pushing me and someday I'm gonna boil over!"

"Go ahead then, but I'm never gonna marry to a heartless, ancient, tyrannical wizard like yourself," Callie said.

Kayla was impressed with Callie standing up to herself against the Pastmaster. The Pastmaster quickly calmed down as he thought of something. "Maybe I'll give you some time to think about my proposal before the next full moon," The Pastmaster laughed as he left.

Callie knew that this wasn't the end for the Pastmaster, but it was just the beginning. One reporter then asked Callie, "Ms. Briggs, how come you opposed the Pastmaster's idea to turn Megakat City back to the dark ages? I mean, everybody will have peace of mind with no problems with technology or hear the same news over and over on TV or radio."

"Well, for one thing, the problems of living in the Dark Ages would be no modern medicine, no ways to keep food fresh, no plumbing and of course no Youtube. There would be also no proper sanitation supplies, no clean water, no electrical power or appliances," Callie said as she left the stage. "If you'll excuse me, ladies and gentlemen, I have to report back to the office at City Hall.

Kayla discreetly followed Callie to the parking lot as many men whistled to her much to her disgust. One man even had the nerve and audacity to smack her behind and said, "Hey, toots. When are you planning to do later on the evening?"

"You pervert! Take that!" Kayla shouted as she slapped the man in the face and threw him into a trash can.

Kayla got into the limo as Kain drove off. "Did you get the information from Ms. Briggs, Kayla?" Tera asked her sister.

"No," Kayla said. "The Pastmaster interfered and Callie walked off, but I know where she's going."

"There has been a slight change of plans, you two," Kain said. "Dark Kat has called for a meeting to meet up with new assassins being added."

Unknown to them, Saber and Nightshade were listening on their conversation with a two-way radio system. "Did you hear that, Saber?" Nightshade asked.

"Yeah, definitely. Let's find out who these new assassins are and find out if there's anymore of them out there," Saber said as he started searching on his laptop.

Back at Dark Kat's hideout, many assassins and Omegas sat at the table as Dark Kat took his seat. "Ladies and gentlemen, welcome to my secret lair. It's been a week since I looked for other assassins across the country, but I'm back," Dark Kat began. "Everything's gone perfectly to plan- except for one small flaw—due to a child abuse complaint by my Omega agent, Joe Hitchcock, complications arose at the Brisby Middle School Boys' Basketball team."

Dark Kat was very unhappy to hear such news from one of his Omegas as he stared daggers at Joe while his yellow eyes glowed brighter. "But I was just teaching one of my players, Tom Parker, to catch the ball and go for a few rounds," Joe lied.

"Look what you did to one my son's friends!" Dark Kat yelled as he showed the video of Joe abusing Tom as Joe angrily threw basketballs at Tom's face as Tom's parents recorded the whole thing on video and later reported it to the school board and the Enforcers. "And thus, I clothe my naked villainy with old odd ends stolen forth from holy writ and seem a saint, when most I play the devil."

"But, Dark Kat, I was unaware that Tom's family was recording it on video and reported it to the school and I was permanently banned from coaching basketball for the remainder of my life—" Joe began as he was scared to the bones.

"Silence!" Dark Kat shouted as he pressed the button with Joe's name on it. Joe's chair fell backwards and Joe fell down to a pit of fire and got burned alive. Joe's smoked chair then reclined back up.

Dark Kat faced the other assassins as all of them met Dark Kat's eyes. "Let this be a reminder to you all that this organization and I will not tolerate nor encourage child abuse. No abusing, child molestation, or crimes against children, got it?" Dark Kat said as he heard Joe's agonized groans of being burned as he somehow survived.

"Ladies and gentlemen, let's get down to business," Dark Kat began, but he was interrupted by Joe's groans again. "We've got a lot of work to do."

"Somebody help me!" Joe called in agonizing pain. "I'm still alive, only I'm very badly burned."

Dark Kat pretended that he didn't hear it and tried to go on with business. "Some of you I know… some of you I'm meeting for the first time," Dark Kat began.

"Hello up there! Anyone!" Joe interrupted. "Could someone call an ambulance? I'm in quite a lot of pain."

"Okay, you've all been gathered here to form—" Dark Kat said, but was interrupted again by Joe's groans. "Excuse me."

Dark Kat picked up his phone and called one of his Omegas. "He's down there."

"Is he dead?" the Omega asked.

"No, not dead—burned. Badly."

"I can take care of that for you if you like with a gun."

"Yes."

"I'll kill him just to put him out of his misery."

"Right," Dark Kat agreed as he hung up the phone.

"If somebody could open the retrieval hatch down here, I could get out. See, I designed this device myself," Joe called until one of the Omegas opened the door to the boiler room. "Oh, good. I'm glad you found me. Listen, I'm very badly burned, so if you could just—"

The Omega fired his gun at Joe. "You shot me!" Joe shouted.

"Okay, moving on—" Dark Kat said.

"You shot me right in the arm! Why did—" Joe called but the Omega shot him again in the head. This time, Joe was dead for sure as the Omega left the boiler room and closed the door.

"Right. Let me go around the table and introduce everyone," Dark Kat said as turned to face Kayla. "Kayla Flasker, codename: Siren, beautiful vixen with a deadly poisonous kiss and a mind control kiss as well."

Dark Kat turns to Kain. "Kain, Siren's bodyguard and partner-in-crime."

Dark Kat introduces his new assassin, Sargent Winters, a polar bear. "Sargent Winters, a walking iceman with his signature freezing gun to go along his cryo-suit to make him look like a walking tank. Sargent Winters, show them what you do."

Two Omegas escorted a drug dealer that was caught stealing from Dark Kat. "Please! Show some mercy!" the dealer begged.

"Mercy? I'm afraid the conditions had led me cold to your pleas of mercy," Sargent Winters said as he fired his freezing gun at the dealer.

"No!" the dealer screamed as he was turned into a living, freezing statue.

"Impressive," Hard Drive said.

Dark Kat turns to Tera and introduces her. "Tera Flasker, codename: Huntress, winner of the President's Hundred Tab in the US Army and one of the top 20 deadly female assassins around the world."

Dark Kat turns his attention to a lizard dressed in ninja garments and a sword. "Alex Jones, codename: Slasher, a highly skilled ninja trained in the martial arts of the samurai and ninja."

"Pleasure to meet you," Slasher said as he wrote in his journal.

"Kayla, I see that you were planning your move on Ms. Briggs when the Pastmaster interrupted. How did that happen?" Dark Kat asked.

"The Pastmaster just showed up to propose to her to marry him, but she adamantly refused. But don't worry, I know where she's going and I will seduce her with this," Kayla said as she blew her pheromone dust at Sargent Winters.

Sargent Winters breathes in the dust and says, "Pheromone dust, designed to heat a man's and woman's blood to engage in sexual activities. Doesn't work for the cold-hearted."

"Perhaps I should make a stronger dose where every man and woman will literally be dying for me," Kayla said.

"Listen, I don't like you because of your partner and bodyguard, Kain," Sargent Winters coldly said.

"Hey! Show me and especially the lady some respect!" Kain talked back.

Kayla just simply put up her hand to tell Kain to stop. "It's alright, Kain. Just let him speak his mind," she said.

"Besides, it would be very wrong to cheat on my wife, even though she's in a cryogenic sleep," Sargent Winters sadly sighed as he looked at his left wedding ring finger with his wedding ring.

At the same time, Carter Delsin was holding a meeting at his dojo with Tommy, Hector, Harvey, Wally, Joey and Natasha. "Megakat University Labs security video, 2 years ago," Carter said as he played the video while giving background information on Sargent Winters. "Dr. Ethan Winters, technical sergeant in the US Air Force, 2-time Olympic decathlete and Nobel Prize winner for molecular biology. After his wife's, Mia Winters', condition deteriorates due to a need of a liver transplant with the same rare blood type as hers, he hoped to freeze her in a cryogenic sleep until he could find a perfect donor. Now, here's where everything goes North."

The security footage shows Dr. Winters working on some lab equipment when all of a sudden, the electricity sparked out of the lab equipment and Dr. Winters fell into a 200-gallon tank of freezing cold water. "That's got to hurt," Harvey said.

"Tell me about it," Wally said.

"That liquid is 50 below degrees Fahrenheit. But he survived somehow. The cryo-solution mutated his body," Carter said as he played the next footage of Dr. Winters changed drastically with his hair white as snow and looked like he survived in a brutal winter storm.

"What happened to his wife?" Tommy asked.

"Nobody knows for sure. She's presumed dead," Carter said as he shows Sargent Winter's profile along with his armor and freeze gun. "Winters needs extreme cold to survive. His cryo-suit uses diamond-enhanced lasers to keep him at zero degrees."

"I guess that he's sensitive to heat and Dr. Viper and him wouldn't exactly get along with each other in regards to temperature change," Wally joked.

"Wally," Natasha called. "While Siren was distracted by the Pastmaster, I've placed a tracking device on her and she's on her way to City Hall."

"I'm on it," Wally said as he put on his costume.

"Are you sure you can handle it, big brother?" Joey asked. "Last time you crossed paths with her, you almost died of organic poisons."

"Sure, Joey. I won't let my guard down this time."

Later that evening, Callie was all alone in her office at City Hall signing some papers. At the same time, Siren managed to sneak in and seduced the guards and other staff members by delivering them her poisonous kisses. As Siren opened the door to Callie's office, Callie looked up and asked, "May I help you?"

"Good evening, Ms. Briggs," Kayla said as she closed the door behind her.

"Who are you? What are you doing here and how did you get passed security?"

"Let's just say they looked the other way as I charmed them with my gorgeous looks," Kayla said as she blew her pheromone dust at Callie.

Callie tried to fight the pheromones, but she couldn't resist the fact that she finds Kayla so attractive that Kayla started to seduce Callie by kissing her with her mind control kiss. Kayla started unbuttoning Callie's top to see that Callie's breasts were big, nice and firm. "Oh my, I never knew you have breasts that are big as mine," Kayla gasped.

"Why are you doing this?" Callie asked.

"Just wanting to have some girl time with you and know more about the Elite Six," Kayla said as she unzipped Callie's skirt and slid it down. Callie was now in her undergarments as Kayla started making out with Callie. Callie didn't want to admit it, but she enjoyed making out with Kayla.

Then, Captain Downunder jumped out of the shadows and threw a boomerang at Kayla as Kayla dodged out of the way. "Step away from the deputy mayor, Siren!" Captain Downunder ordered.

Kayla turned her head to the left to meet Captain Downunder's. "I see that you survived my kiss of death, Captain Downunder," Kayla laughed. "Get it? Kiss of death? Because my kisses are poisonous."

"Ha, ha, ha. Very funny," Captain Downunder sarcastically laughed. "You may have fooled me once, but you won't fool me again."

Captain Downunder threw his boomerangs at Kayla as she ran out of the office and Captain Downunder pursued her. Before leaving, Captain Downunder turned to face Callie and said, "I'm so sorry about this, Ms. Briggs, but please put your clothes back on before somebody sees you."

Callie broke out of her trance and immediately closed the curtains and put her clothes back on.

As Kayla ran out to the streets of Megakat City, Captain Downunder was struggling to keep up with her as Kayla threw things at him. "Stop right there, criminal scum!" Captain Downunder ordered.

"Still bitter about that kiss of death, kid?" Kayla asked. "No matter, perhaps I should make you my own personal hand puppet after Kain deals with you."

"Who's Kain?" Captain Downunder asked as he was caught by Kain who snuck up on him and strangled him.

Kayla stopped where she was, laughed and walked over to Captain Downunder. "Try not to make a mess when you die," she said and walked off.

Captain Downunder gasped as he was being chocked. At the same time, Felina was at Megakat Park with a tracking device as she approached the SWAT Kat memorial. "Another dead-end. I'm beginning to wonder if I might be wrong," Felina muttered. "I've got some things to say. I should have said them when you were here, but… Despite our differences, I have nothing but respect for you. I hope you two knew… know that. You two showed me that justice doesn't always have to come from the darkness. I'll miss…"

Felina heard an explosion in the background as Kain and Captain Downunder were fighting off. "What did you always call it, Razor and T-Bone? The never-ending battle?"

Kain tried to hammer Captain Downunder with his fists, but Captain Downunder dodged him. When he tried to strike Captain Downunder with his left hand, he ducked and did a powerful backflip kick and knocked Kain out. "Guess it's you that needs to get out more and train harder," Captain Downunder laughed.

Felina arrived at the scene with her patrol car and exited the vehicle. "It seems that I missed out on all the fun," she said.

"Well, not everything. I just knocked out Siren's bodyguard, Kain," Captain Downunder said.

"No beauty, eh?"

"Nope, just the beast."

At the same time, Hector was at home sleeping when he dreamed of Greek mythology. He found himself on Charon's boat on the river Acheron. When Charon's boat landed at the Kingdom of Hades, Hector exited Charon's boat and looked around in the Greek Underworld. He saw Tartarus where great sinners and criminals suffered terrible punishments including the Titans, Tantalus, Sisyphus, and Ixion. Hector also saw another region of the Greek underworld called the Asphodel Meadows where most ordinary men and women who hadn't committed terrible crimes nor achieved significant achievements went. Then, Hector saw the Elysium Fields, the Greek paradise, where the souls of great Greek heroes such as Cadmus, Peleus, and Achilles, kings of the past and virtuous souls reside.

"Welcome to the Greek underworld, mortal," Lord Hades said as he sat on his throne with the three-headed hellhound, Cerberus, at his side.

"Where am I? I thought I was only dreaming," Hector said.

"You're in my realm of the Kingdom of Hades."

"Wait, you're Lord Hades, the Greek god of the Underworld?" Hector asked as he was clearly frightened of Lord Hades' dark and frightening personality. "Please, have mercy on me. I meant no disrespect."

"Don't be so frightened, Hector. Contrary to what many people think about me, I'm not an evil figure. My actions are wise and just to the souls of Greek mythology. At various times, I showed myself to be benevolent and merciful. That's why I have summoned you to bear the power of fire and summon Cerberus to be your companion to protect the mortals in your world."

Cerberus came up to Hector, who at first was frightened of the three-headed hellhound, but the creature sniffed Hector and licked Hector's face. "Stop it, that tickles!" Hector laughed.

"I see Cerberus has an instant liking to you," Hades said. "Go now, and may the power of Hades protect you."

("Power Rangers Turbo, Go! (Main Theme)" by Super Power)

Hector woke up to the sound of his iPhone 7 ringing his favorite song as his alarm. He changed into his Green Day American Idiot t-shirt and blue jeans. "Hector, time to have breakfast!" Helena called.

"Coming, Mom," Hector called as he came out of his room and sat at the table for breakfast.

After a while of preparing for school, Hector brought out his skateboard, helmet, elbows and knee pads. "Good-bye, Mom and Dad!" Hector called as he and his twin brothers left for school.

"Good-bye, kids! Have a good day!" Commander Feral said.

Hector arrived at school as he met up with his other friends. "How are you doing, Hector?" Tommy asked his best friend.

"Very well, I just had a strange dream last night about Lord Hades."

"The Greek god ruler of the underworld?" Natasha asked.

"I thought it was only a myth," Harvey said.

"Speaking of which, I just busted up Kain after chasing off Siren as she tried to seduce Ms. Briggs," Wally said.

"So, I heard from Lt. Feral," Joey said.

"I remember reading on mythological creatures and Siren is definitely a perfect example of a femme fatale and a siren. As mermaids and sirens both to be attractive women that entice sailors to come to dangerous rocks while singing. Their voices have the ability to hypnotize people and those following their voices were doomed. They were seen as a bad omen and their presence usually meant that a thunderstorm or a hurricane was coming," Harvey said.

"It was really weird that when I first saw Siren, I thought I was in love but it was lust. I can't believe that I fell for a bad guy," Wally sighed.

"Bad, yes. Guy, no," Joey said.

"Well, I'm over it. Positively hanging out with people within my age group."

"Good boy," Natasha said.

"But I can't help it I find both Siren, Queen Callista, and Callie Briggs attractive," Wally joked.

"Oh, brother," Hector sighed.

Wally couldn't keep his eyes off on one of Natasha's friends, Kuki Higarashi, a vixen, as she sat a desk with Ariel Stockton, a golden retriever, and Jennifer Wilson, a tomboy lynx.

"Still having a crush on Kuki, Wally?" Tommy asked.

"Shut up," Wally fussed. "What about you? What kind of girls do you find attractive?"

Tommy hesitated as he remained silent. "Come on. I know you're thinking about something; you just don't want to answer."

Finally, Tommy spoke, "Well, I do have a thing for rabbits, vixens, brunettes, blondes, and especially redheads."

"There it is! I knew my best friend has something on his mind," Wally said.

("The End of the World" by Skeeter Davis)

Meanwhile, in the not to distant future, Razor and T-Bone woke up in the middle of nowhere with mutated plants, animals, the planet of Saturn and the sun turned red. "Hello? Anyone here?" Razor asked out.

"Hello?" T-Bone called out, but there was no response.

Razor then activated his commlink. "SWAT Kats to the Enforcers or any known life forms. Looks like we've somehow been transported to a planet with a red sun. We're confused about what's going on. I'm picking up the SWAT Kat hangar homing beacon, but we're not getting audio. I'll leave this channel open and attempt to move closer to your position," Razor said as he and T-Bone packed up supplies into a Humvee and drove off.

At times where they have to stop, rest, use the restroom, or gather up supplies, they had to keep their guard up all the time for various threats. For a long time, they have run and fought really hard against mutated animals affected by radioactive fallout, scavengers, and monsters of the wasteland.

One night, T-Bone and Razor sat at a campfire in a camp site as they set up camp. T-Bone pressed on his commlink and listened closely to the homing beacon. "If I'm interpreting this thing right, we're very close to the secret SWAT Kat hangar. Me and Razor are bunking in for night and head out again tomorrow. Maybe we'll find survivors tomorrow," T-Bone said as he went to sleep.

The next day, Razor and T-Bone snuck passed against radscorpions and mutated spiders. Razor listened in on his homing beacon and knew that they're real close to the hangar. After a long hike, they stopped to see a horrible sight. "No!" Chance gasped to see their hangar in ruins.

"No!" Jake yelled as he and Chance ran for the entrance to their hangar.

"Com link 01 and 02 recognized. Authorized users: Razor and T-Bone. Access granted," the computer said as the hangar doors opened.

"Hello! Is anybody in here?" Chance called as he and Jake entered.

"Hello?!" Jake called but no one answered.

They went to the computer to find other life forms, including Callie and Tommy Briggs, Hector and Commander Feral, but they were all missing. The computer shows Jake and Chance present as the computer said, "Warning! SWAT Kat hangar now running on reserve power. System sleep in 30 seconds."

"Override," Jake commanded.

Chance slammed his fists on the keyboard in frustration. "Uhh! What happened to everybody?"

When suddenly, unknown soldiers showed up with guns and they cornered Jake and Chance in a corner of the hangar.

"Who are you?" Chance growled.

"And What do you want with us?" Jake growled back.

"Stand down, men!" the commander of the soldiers said to his troops as he showed up and removed his helmet. "They died, SWAT Kats, 10 years ago."

"Carl Lockman," Jake said as he stared daggers at Carl. He never liked Carl because he has been a bully to Jake for most of his life. Carl had always done mean things to Jake like pushing him off of his bike, put 'kick me' signs on his back, pulling pranks on him, beat me up senselessly, saying rude comments about him, name calling him and pulling wedgies on Jake.

"They don't build them like this anymore," Carl said.

"What?" Chance asked.

"It didn't lose power until last year. Remarkable feat of engineering."

"What happened here?" Jake asked.

"I think you two have already guessed."

"This is Earth," Jake concluded.

"Yes. 10 years in your future. Those simpletons Dark Kat and Hard Drive never truly understood what they had created."

"The disintegrator beam he hit us with..."

"An energized tachyon stream. That's what sent you two into the future," Carl said as he walked towards them. "Hello."

"How'd you get here?" Chance asked.

"The old-fashioned way. I escaped into the safety of my personal bunker for the event of any apocalypse. I'm the sole remaining survivor of the animal race along with other survivors."

"All the people?"

"Dead and gone. The Earth belongs to Mother Nature now. Oh, and me."

"I picked up your comm signals a few weeks ago. I've used it to track you two down."

"You could've just called!" Jake exclaimed.

"I was afraid you might be holding a grudge. If you'd switched off, I might never have found you."

"Grudge? You have been a bully to mean since intermediate school and tried to kill me when you became a crime boss of the underworld twice," Jake retorted.

"In the long run, not so important. Take it from someone who knows," Carl said.

"You're insane."

"True, but that doesn't mean I'm not good company. Say, you two want to come over to my house?" Carl asked.

Jake and Chance had surprised looks on their faces. "Are you kidding me?" Jake asked.

"What kind of sick joke is this, huh?" Chance asked.

"Like you two have something better to do," Carl joked.

"Before we go inside, I want to show you two something," Carl began as they walked through the streets along with Carl's troops.

"This is Megakat City," Jake said.

"Was. I restored it myself. Archeology is one of my hobbies."

Jake and Chance stopped to see their logo on the front of a memorial statue of Razor and T-Bone. "Your funeral was lovely. It was on all the networks. Used to have the DVD," Carl said to Jake and Chance.

"I'm glad you enjoyed it," Jake sarcastically talked back.

"As a matter of fact, I did but it took me 5 years to reconsider."

"Did it also take you that long to figure out that you're a power-mad despot?" Chance asked.

"It also took me that long to figure out that my lust for power and control was meaningless."

"I don't know what kind of con you're running on here, but you're wasting your time and ours," Chance said.

"I should've never done it."

"Done what?" Jake asked.

"This. I destroyed the world," Carl said as he observed the abysmal ruins of Megakat City. "It was only a few months after you two disappeared. I just perfected an invention that gave me total control over gravity and proclaimed myself master of the world."

"The Enforcers and the military would never allow that," Jake said.

"True. They put up quite a fight, especially the Elite Six."

"Who are the Elite Six?" Chance asked.

"Six super-powered kids who took your place as Megakat City's new defenders who were skillfully trained under their mentor, Carter Delsin. It took some doing, but I defeated them. Carter was the most difficult. I killed him right here," Carl said as Jake and Chance were horrified by the notion. "No, it was over there. In any case, I destroyed the entire Enforcers and Elite Six that day, but that wasn't all. My new found powers disrupted the gravitational balance of the entire solar system. This is the result." Thus, Carl unintentionally and accidentally destroyed all humanity and life on Earth.

("Everybody Cries" (From "THE OUTPOST") by Rita Wilson)

"I also wanted to show you two something," Carl said as he felt emotional when he escorted them to a memorial dedicated to the Elite Six and their families at Carter Delsin's dojo. "I found out later that the Elite Six were children who were so dear to not only you two, but also their families who died along with them."

Jake approached the grave that read, "Here lies Thomas Jonathan Briggs, the SWAT Kat Ninja, Shadow and member of the Elite Six." Thomas' grave also included Callie Briggs and their parents, Jonathan and Martha Briggs. The other graves included Hector Feral and his family, Harvey O'Connell and his family, Wally and Joey Hemingway and their family, and Natasha von Jackal and her family. Their graves said: "Here lies Hector Cornelius Feral, the SWAT Kat Saber and member of the Elite Six;" "Here lies Harvey Aaron O'Connell, Spider-Dog and member of Elite Six;" "Here lies Wally and Joey Hemingway, Captain Downunder and Crickey;" "Here lies Natasha Cynthia von Jackal, Nightshade and member of the Elite Six."

The final grave included Carter Delsin as he was given a proper funeral like his students. "It grieved me that I killed heroic children and their families that were so dear to you. Their deaths have not brought me peace; rather, my crimes have made me even more miserable than they ever were," Carl cried as he felt remorseful and sad.

"You never turned away from bloodshed," Chance growled.

"True, but always with purpose. This and the Earth destroyed were seen as unnecessary casualties."

Jake lost his temper and starts beating Carl and pins him down to the ground. Jake picks up a huge rock over his head and said, "I should smash your skull."

"Go ahead. We both know it wouldn't work," Carl said.

Jake throws the rock close to Carl which was just merely centimeters away from his head. Carl gets up and Jake asked, "What now?"

"Lunch," Carl said.

Jake, Chance, and Carl went to Carl's house as Carl was prepping lunch in the kitchen. "Sorry about the mess. I tried to tidy up a bit," he said.

Jake and Chance looked around Carl's house and it was like a museum with so much antiquities from various cultures and from a science fiction convention. "You did all this?" Jake asked in amazement.

"Every bit. I've had a long time to tinker. You have to keep busy or you'll go mad."

Chance walks over to a bookshelf and saw every well-known book he and Jake read, including the Holy Bible, the Odyssey, The Adventures of Tom Sawyer, Frankenstein and Gone With the Wind. Chance walked to a lamp with another book that said "Life Strategies Coping with Yourself." "Self-help books. You don't seem the type," Chance said.

"I read whatever I can find. Anyway, I've got issues. What with my destroying the Earth and all," Carl said as he ladled chicken noodle soup to three bowls along with a salad, garlic bread, spaghetti with meatballs and marinara sauce. "Hope you two are hungry."

Jake and Chance stuffed their faces with the food Carl had made as they sat down at a table. It's been a while since they had something really good to eat as they were surviving off the land.

"Like it? I grew all the food myself. House, garden view," Carl said to the computer and the window screens revealed a huge garden with various fruits and vegetables.

"Some garden," Jake said.

"I spent quite a lot of time rediscovering the principles of agriculture. Something to do."

"Like the rocket ship, I suppose," Chance added.

"Star ship," Carl corrected. "I'd intended to leave the Earth and search the universe for other life, but I never did."

"Too difficult?" Jake asked.

"Not at all. I decided I deserved to be punished for what I had done," Carl admitted.

Later on, that night, Chance woke up in the middle of the night along with Jake. They wondered around in the house to discover that Carl had a time machine. They ran into Carl's bedroom. "Carl! Carl, wake up!" Jake said.

"What? What is it?" Carl asked as he woke up.

"You've got a time machine!" Jake said.

"I've spent several years working on it. Then I've lost interest."

"Why didn't you finish it?" Chance asked.

"No attention span, I suppose. No point, either."

"There is a point. Don't you see? You can go back and stop yourself from destroying the world," Chance concluded.

"No, I couldn't this design doesn't allow me to travel back to any time where I already exist."

"Yeah, but we're already dead," Jake said.

Then, a huge smile appeared on Carl's face as if there's still hope to save the world through time travel. "This might actually work," Carl said.

"On your feet, Mr. Wizard. We've got work to do," Chance said.

Carl set up the time for Jake's and Chance's timeline and started his time machine. "Ready to sent us back?" Jake asked.

"No, but I will anyway. You two have to stop me by any means necessary," Carl said.

"We promise," Jake said.

"Four days from your arrival, my younger self will steal a piece of dwarf star matter from a scientist name Professor Hackle. If you two prevent that theft, I'll never be able to build my weapon."

"Professor Hackle. Got it," Jake said as he and Chance walked up to the time machine. They stopped and Jake turned around to face Carl. "What happens to you?"

"Redemption, if I'm lucky. Don't worry about me. This counts for me and I'm sure God knows as penance for my sins. Return to your friends. Do what you two do best. What you two were born to do. Protect Megakat City and save the world and the future that I made," Carl said.

With that being said, Jake and Chance walked up to Carl and offered their hands as Carl shook them. "May the Lord be with you and grant you passage to the afterlife," Chance said.

Jake and Chance walked into the time portal within the time machine and were transported back to their home that Carl set for them in their timeline. "May the Lord Jesus Christ forgive me for all my wicked sins," Carl solemnly said with hope in his heart.

Looks like Carl seeks redemption by sending Jake and Chance back in time to save the future. Will they make it in time to stop Carl from building his weapon? Stay tune to find out. dax0042 has given me permission to use Carl Lockman.
