Chelsea was last to arrive next morning at the diner. She was surprised to find Ryan had already ordered. Eggs and pancakes for her, buttered toast eggs and sausages for himself, and two coffees.
"Morning honey."
She took her seat across from him, and both soon began to eat, talking a bit when they could.
"You're right, the food's excellent."
She grinned.
"Thanks."
"I ain't worried about impressing your friends."
"Levi's gonna like you, it'll just take time."
"If you're sure."
"Ryan, please."
"Alright, alright."
Nia and Tess, along with Raven were first to meet Ryan Blackburn. All 3 women seem to hit it off with him, impressing Chelsea.
"So, lawyer, huh?" Raven asked.
"Plan to be, yeah. Read a lot of John Grisham growing up."
Levi soon entered, stumbling a bit on seeing Ryan next to his mother. He soon sized him up. About 5'9, blue eyes, light blonde hair, slightly overweight. How would he treat them, he wondered. Gentle, as others had tried to be, or, like his father? He hoped the former over tha latter, wondering how much mom had told him.
Both soon got to talking, and he found he could breathe a bit easier. He would have to get use to this new man in his mother's life, but, this one, Ryan his name was, sounded promising.
