Masato was having a good morning. Well as good as he could have in this video game. His mother had gone off to buy groceries so he was left with the girls. That meant he could talk to them without his mother around. She typically embarrassed him around the girls. If he was going to get a girlfriend, he'd need to do it on his own. Of course, that meant dealing with the eccentric personalities of the girls.

Wise was a petite girl. Nothing too big but she was really cute. If she wasn't such a tsundere, she'd have been his first choice. At the very least, she didn't strike him at every opportunity like some girls he'd seen in anime. The universe though seemed to want to put the two into… situations. So he'd seen her fine body a few times. It was just hard to get around her hard headed attitude. He wasn't sure if she liked him in the tsundere way or not. Then again, he hadn't been open to her so he wasn't going to get on her case about it.

Medhi seemed more of his immediate type. A living bombshell. Her boobs were so plump. Her body is curvy. Now that was a woman. He decided never to think on his grandpa's piece of wisdom: Men love women who remind them of their mother. That was hogwash. Yes he fell for her because of her kindness and curvy body, but they were different… Medhi secretly had a dark side that honestly scared him. His mother didn't have a bad bone in her body. Completely different. That dark side though meant it was hard to try and date her.

Then there was Porta. No. There was no way he was dating her. She was too cute and young for him. She was more like his little sister at this point. Thankfully she hadn't shown any signs of falling in love so he was safe.

So he had two hot girls that he didn't know how to approach. It would be difficult. Yes it would but his dad always told him this. Adversity makes you stronger. He'd get through this and he'd come out stronger with two hot girlfriends.

Hey, he was living in a fantasy world. Having two hot girlfriends wasn't out of reach. Now he just needed to find a way to do it without dying.

He spent the first part of the morning practicing with his sword. He didn't have to. It was a video game but he just felt it made him seem cool. That and he'd practiced a bit with a play sword with his dad growing up. He also did it because he hoped the girls would notice. It's why he was wearing a shirt without any sleeves on. He'd built a bit of muscle so he was happy to show it off. What made his morning was that he noticed how Wise and Medhi looked at him. He wasn't that dense. He could see a blush. Medhi even bit her lip. She bit her lip! Oh yeah, this morning was going swell.

After that, he made his way over to them. He didn't have to worry about Porta getting in the way either. His mother brought Porta along everywhere. Not just because she basically became Porta's second mother. It's because Porta could carry anything in her bag she kept on her head at almost all times.

"That was a splendid display," Medhi smiled at him.

"Tch," Wise turned away with her blushing cheeks, "It was fine. Don't get full of yourself just because you can swing a sword around."

Masato chuckled and rubbed the back of his head, "Oh it's nothing. Just a few things my dad showed me."

"Oh?" Medhi quirked an eyebrow, "Your father was a sword fighter?"

"Well yeah," Masato said with a nod, "He taught me everything I know. I just don't get to show it off because…"

Medhi cringed, "Yeah… I get you."

Medhi had been trying to impress everyone but it was hard to do that with Mamako around. How was she supposed to impress his mother when she kept killing everything? It was so frustrating that Medhi just wanted to torture something. She kept that dark thought to herself.

"Hopefully on our next mission I'll get the chance," Masato said.

"Like that will ever happen," Wise smirked and pointed at him, "During our next mission, I'll kill all the monsters by myself. I'll prove I'm the greatest in this party once and for all."

"Ha!" Medhi smirked at Wise, "You? The strongest? Your magic is nothing compared to mine. Perhaps you could win if you smash your anvil chest onto their heads."

"What did you say?" Wise fiercely snarled and held up a fist.

Masato cringed. The girls just never got along. They were always competing. At first it was a hot thought. Two girls fighting meant there might be clothing damage. That and them fighting over him was nice. However, it was dangerous to be around them. Aside from their shouting getting on his nerves, they might fling a spell or two. Thankfully his mom usually put an end to their fights before they got out of hand but still.

"I have come to inform you-" A sudden woman's voice spoke up behind them.

"KYA!" Medhi and Wise screamed in fear and shot out spells at the voice.

Unfortunately, said person wasn't a threat. It was simply Shirase. Because of that, no one really cared. Shirase always ended up dying. What did matter was Wise and Medhi racing to save her. Wise won this time but that almost led to a fight.

"I am to inform you that I, Shirase, have come with another mission." The beautiful woman spoke. She was a shapely woman with long, purple hair. Honestly Masato thought of her from time to time. Not just because she keeps dying, but because of that body. However, he wasn't sure it was worth it.

"What's the mission?" Masato asked. Sure it might lead to trouble but it at least gave him something to do.

"There is a group of monsters outside the city," Shirase said, "I, Shirase, will inform you that one of them carries the potential to be a demon lord. We need you to deal with them before they get out of hand."

Masato grinned. This looked like a mission for him, "Gotcha. I'll go take care of it then."

"Where is your mother?" Shirase looked around as she said that.

"She's in town buying groceries," Masato said, "But I don't think we need to wait around for her. We've got this."

"I do need to inform you because I am Shirase," the grown woman said, "The monsters aren't your regular bunch. They are very tough."

"And so are we," Wise stepped up next to him. She flexed her arm, "No stupid monster can take me down."

"And whatever she can do," Medhi stepped up to his other side, "I can do twice over."

"As if!" Wise waved a fist at her.

"I love your spirits," Shirase clapped her hands with a smile, "You truly are the heroes this world needs. Very well. I'll leave this to your capable hands."

Masato was hyped. He finally got to go on a mission without his mother around. On top of that, he got to do it with both Wise and Medhi. Now this was fantastic. Since they were magic users, that meant he'd do his best to protect them. If everything worked out well, he might even get a kiss. I mean, he'd love to do more but he also knew they weren't at that stage. A kiss was fine with him.

That and he wouldn't have to worry about his mother stealing the spotlight. That or get into a sexy encounter. He didn't care what people said about her appearance, she was his mom. No kid wanted to see their mom naked. Ever. He shivered just thinking about the times it happened before. Not this time. If anything, he'd get to see the other two girls naked. Now that was a prize to behold.

"There's too many of them," Medhi cried out as she fired another spell.

The spell impacted on a demon, blowing apart a good portion of its chest. The goat beast fell down dead but there was a dozen to take its place. Masato growled as he jumped back from behind hit by a minotaur's axe. He looked up at a flying reptile monster. It wasn't a dragon. Too small and odd looking with its slimy appearance. He swung up his sword. While his mother could take out multiple opponents easily with her swords on the ground, his was different. He could take out any one creature in the sky with one strike. Not good for crowds but it meant any creature trying to fly up on him was doomed.

It was cut in two. As the pieces fell to the ground, he avoided the minotaur again. It shouldn't have ended up like this. They should have been able to plow through this horde easily. Most monsters did group up but they weren't usually that strong. The strong ones usually kept to themselves. They rarely grouped up. It seemed that a demon lord candidate really was among them.

The battle had begun pretty easily. The first few monsters weren't that strong. They were able to smash them apart rather easily and make their way deeper into monster territory. That was when the problems started. Stronger monsters arrived. At first it was just a few. Then more came and now there were dozens, if not up to a hundred of these strong beasts after their heads. Even worse, Masato wasn't sure if this was even all of them.

"NO!" He heard Wise scream.

He turned to see a couple of beasts making their way to her. They were like a mix of an octopus and a gorilla which was a disgusting sight. Their tentacles wiggled and tried to hit her. She was using her magic to keep her distance and blast away any that got close. It seemed the two beasts were resistant to magic. Just wonderful, he griped. Masato felt furious. He was not going to let her get tentacled. However, he had to jump away. The minotaur he was facing was still active.

"Medhi," Masato called to her, "Help Wise."

"I'm busy!" She called back to him as she blasted away another beast.

He gritted his teeth. He blocked another strike with his sword and pushed it away. He was actually glad he was fighting the minotaur. The other monsters were giving him a wide berth because of it. The minotaur was intimidating. Yet it was his wide swings that made the other monsters hesitate to help. The bull beast had killed three monsters that had gotten too close. They wouldn't take their chances.

Masato had to think. He had to act. There was something he could do to win this day. It was hard to think. Fighting this beast was difficult. He couldn't help but hear the panicked cries of the girls. He had to protect them. Yet… he felt like he couldn't. Every moment that past meant another minute closer to failure. He had been able to nick the beast but the minotaur was built of sterner stuff. He had to get a clean kill shot and he wasn't given an opportunity to get it.

Was he wrong to pick this mission? Was he stupid to go without his mother? Maybe. Masato realized, yes it was. He had wanted to prove himself that he could do things on his own. So he had just jumped at the first mission. He should have scouted the place out. No. He had charged in ahead and now everyone was paying for it.

The minotaur roared at him.

Masato screamed back as he deflected a blow. His sword cut into the beast's stomach but it wasn't deep enough and he had to jump back. "This wasn't supposed to be how it ends. Why can't you just die?"

The minotaur seemed to understand him since it chuckled. It hefted its axe to attack him again. He heard Wise cry out in fear. He turned his head. One of the tentacles had grabbed her arm and she was thrown to the ground.

"No!" She tried to blast it but it didn't do much, "Please no!'

"Wise!" Masato cried out in panic. He tried to move to her but the minotaur jumped in front of him. Its arm smashed into his front and pushed him several meters back. He gritted his teeth and glared at the beast, "Get out of my way!"

His heart was racing. He couldn't get to her in time. He was going to listen to those monsters feast on his friend. The only consolation was that this was a game. The developers weren't stupid enough to have it be where you die here you die in real life… right? Then again, the way he got into the game made it seem he actually transported here, body and all. It wasn't good to chance it.

"Unhand her, you fiend!" A suave and majestic male voice cried out.

Suddenly a flaming sword cut through the tentacle. The gorilla octopus looked at the attacker in confusion. Its head was removed from its shoulders before it could process what had happened. The buff and handsome man turned and stabbed the other such monster in the chest. It cried out in pain as its form was burned to a crisp.

The man turned and pointed at Masato, "Masato, you know what to do!"

The minotaur had turned to look at the man in confusion. Masato would have too if he didn't hate the beast so much. He rushed forward and stabbed the creature in the side. It cried out in pain and made to swat him away. He pulled the sword out and swung it. A couple of its fingers were cut off. It was stumbling now. He'd down it. He slashed at its knee, cutting deep. The minotaur couldn't help but fall on its other leg, trying to shield its wound. It rapidly swung its axe, desperate to hit him now. Its axe was blown away by a spell from Medhi. It turned to glare at her.

"Don't you dare look at her," Masato cried out and rushed forward. He buried the blade into its neck. It gurgled before dying, falling backwards. He sighed and put his sword away. Thankfully blood wasn't something that stayed on swords in this game. He watched as the rest of the monsters started to run away. No use running after them. He didn't want a repeat of this venture.

"I'm so glad you're alright," Medhi rushed forward and glomped him.

Masato blushed and hugged her back. He very much enjoyed how her boobs were pressing against him. No reason to push her away after a hard fought battle.

"Why don't I get a hug?" Wise stomped on over to them, "I almost got tentacled."

"I'm sure you would have enjoyed it," Medhi snarked.

Before a fight could break out, the man who saved her got in between them. "There is no reason to fight amongst yourselves. You all fought bravely."

Masato frowned. His eyes widened. He hadn't noticed in the heat of battle but he knew who this guy was, "Dad?"

The man, Jonathan Oosuki, smiled. "It's good to see you again, Masato. I see you have made some great company."

Mamako hummed as she made her way back home. Porta was humming alongside her which made Mamako that much happier. Porta was basically the daughter she always wanted. Oh she loved Masato very much so. He was a very important piece of her world. Yet she always wanted a little girl to dress up. Perhaps when her husband came back, she'd talk to him about having another child. Especially because Masato… Wouldn't be with her forever.

That was a thought she didn't like bringing up. Until that time, she'd love him. As well, she'd dote on Porta as much as possible in the meantime. That and use her skills to hold the supplies. Such a kind girl.

As they got closer to their house, she narrowed her eyes. "Did Masato invite a friend?"

"Mama?" Porta spoke up, "Is something wrong?"

Mamako smiled, "No, dearie. I just saw someone at her house. He's a bit too far away for me to make out clearly though."

Suddenly the figure started to race over to them. Why were they doing that? Did they have a package to deliver or something? As they got closer, Mamako's eyes widened. Was that… It couldn't be… Was he here?"

Her legs started to move before she could properly think. Mamako knew it was him. That large shape couldn't be anyone else. As she got closer, she got to see his handsome face. She laughed, "Jonathon!"

"Mamako!" He cried out. She jumped into his arm and quickly kissed him. The two stayed like that for a moment before pulling apart. "I'm so glad I found you."

"What are you doing here?" Mamako said, "I thought you were away on a job?"

"I finished a bit early," Jonathan said, "I didn't have anything to do for a month so I thought I'd take some needed vacation time to spend it with you and our boy."

"Oh Jonathon," she swooned, nuzzling into his large chest. It just sent shivers down her spine on how buff he was. His strong arms felt so good wrapped around her.

"Mama?" Porta walked up to the couple, "Who's he?"

"Mama?" Jonathan said in confusion.

Mamako chuckled and pulled away. She gestured to the small girl, "This is Porta. She's a friend of our son. I took her out shopping since we were low on some things."

Jonathan nodded. He lent out a hand to Porta, "A pleasure to meet you, young miss."

Porta smiled up at him cutely and shook his hand, "Nice to meet you too, mister."

Off in the distance, Masato was crossing his arms. Of course his dad would show up. That was just his luck. He couldn't have one adventure without his parents butting in. Oh he was glad that his father saved them but still.

"Why didn't you tell us you had a cool dad?" Wise said to him.

"It didn't matter," he grumbled.

"I think it does," Wise huffed.

This all leads to them eventually finding themselves around a campfire. His father hadn't said too much before the campfire. Just some nice pleasantries. That was good for Masato. He needed to look cool for the girls and his dad always had awesome stories. He didn't want to be overshadowed.

That changed the moment one of them asked about how he got here. Masato groaned and buried his face in his hands. All of his stories were so cool. Apparently he had been fighting large and terrifying monsters all the way over to meet them. Everyone was so taken in by his stories that Masato was sure they forgot he was there.

"...So after dealing with a few demon hounds, I picked up the trail of the other monsters." Jonathan said, "Which brought me to you all. I'm glad I made it in time."

"You do have a knack for timely interventions," Mamako stated with a warm smile.

Jonathan chuckled, "That I do." He turned to Masato, "Although I wonder why you thought charging into a den of monsters was a good idea? You could have been hurt."

"I knew what I was doing," Masato said before flinching, "I just… didn't think they had that many strong monsters is all."

"Oh Masato," Mamako said as she rushed over to him. Masato found himself in a tight hug as she patted his head, "You poor thing. Mommy won't let them hurt you again."

"Mom," Masato grumbled. He blushed in embarrassment when he heard the girls snicker.

"Don't worry, Mamako." Medhi put a hand over her chest, "I promise to watch out for him."

"I think I can do that well enough," Wise snorted.

"Oh?" Medhi narrowed her eyes, "I distinctly recall you almost getting tentacled today. Some help you were."

Wise blushed in anger, "And what sort of help were you? You were off on your own while all of this was happening."

"Ladies," Jonathan quickly stepped in, "There is no need to fight. We are all comrades. We should act like it."

The girl girls huffed. They glared at each other but kept quiet. Masato was glad about that. Almost as glad as having his mom stop hugging him.

"Mama," Porta spoke up, "How did you two meet?"

"Hmmm?" Mamako tilted her head, "Me and Jonathon?" Porta nodded, "Oh that's a lovely story."

"Quite a long one," Jonathan smiled fondly, "We've known each other since we were children."

"A childhood romance," Medhi swooned, "Please tell us."

"It'll take a while," Mamako said, "We might not finish it tonight."

"Well just get to the good parts then," Wise said.

"I think it's best we tell the whole story," Jonathan said, "Maybe you'll learn something from it." He winked at Masato.

Masato huffed with a blush on his face, "Yeah, right. I've heard this story before anyways."

"Well maybe no all of it," Jonathan pointed out, "Besides, it never hurts to tell a story twice." He tapped his chin as Mamako went back to sitting at his side, "Now let's see. Where should I start?"

Mamako moved closer and whispered into his ear.

He smiled and kissed her forehead, "Excellent choice. It might be mundane but that's never a bad thing."
