Hi, all! Sorry this one took so long. Got busy with other stuff and family. I forgot to mention in the last part but this part and Part 3 take place after "Changes". The following parts of this story will also take place after "Changes" as well, making them the most recent timeline-wise.
Enjoy!
Part 4
Two nights after Elisa broke the news to her parents, Goliath, who spent the day at Elisa's apartment, glided back to the Castle, carrying Elisa in his arms.
Lexington looked up and saw them, "Hey! Goliath's got Elisa with him!"
The Clan met in the courtyard as Goliath landed and set Elisa on the ground. They rest of the Clan crowded around Goliath and Elisa, congratulating them on the relationship.
Elisa laughed, "Thanks, guys! Really. It means a lot to have your support!"
"Of course, lass!" Hudson said. "You're one of the best humans we've ever met!"
"One of the best compliments I've ever got. And seriously… I'm glad you're not… angry or anything, Hudson. I mean… humans and gargoyles."
"Of course not, lass! If it be my approval ya want, ya have it in abundance."
Elisa and Goliath smiled.
"And ye needn't worry about me, anyway," Hudson continued. "This isn't the first time I've seen this. Humans and gargoyles have fallen in love before."
"Whoa, backup!" Brooklyn declared. "Say that again!"
"Aye, lad. Did ya think this had never happened before?"
"You never told us that!" Broadway said.
"Well, it wasn't frequently common, either," Hudson shrugged.
Brooklyn, Broadway, and Lexington all groaned.
Elisa laughed then looked at Angela. "Hey, Angela. Can I… talk to you alone?"
"Of course, Elisa," Angela smiled.
Lexington leaned toward Brooklyn and teased, "Conversation with her future stepdaughter."
Brooklyn leaned back toward Lexington and smirked, "Yeah, we totally should've seen that coming."
"You guys are jerks," Elisa declared.
"When we wanna be," Brooklyn and Lexington countered before laughing.
Elisa and Angela both rolled their eyes and went inside the castle, going to an empty room. "What's on your mind, Elisa?" Angela asked.
"First," Elisa began, "I wanna thank you. For… being okay with this."
Angela giggled. "Of course, I am! You're one of the best friends I have. You love my father, and he loves you so much. I'm more than okay with it. I've been wanting this for both of you for a long time!"
Elisa exhaled in relief. "It's just a huge load off that you're supporting us. And that this is something you want."
"Absolutely! You give Father so much peace. And… stop me if I'm wrong, but I think the same could be said for you."
"Like you wouldn't believe."
Angela laughed. She sobered a bit. "I… know there's a lot to be concerned about."
"Yeah," Elisa exhaled. "I think about it… and worry sometimes. About the future. Where we'll go next."
"Oh! Yes, that, too. But… I was referring to… a constant, present threat."
Elisa immediately knew Angela meant when she said that. "Oh." Elisa sighed. "Yeah. Her."
Demona.
"We have that mutual issue," Angela noted. "My mother. I suppose… we always will."
"I hate that it's an issue," Elisa admitted. "Because… I don't want it to come between us. I know you love her, Angela, and you should. She's your mother. I just hope we'll always be okay. Ever since Avalon… you've meant so much to me. Even before we knew Goliath was your father."
"I feel the same about you." Angela looked away for a moment then back at Elisa, "I'm also nervous what Demona will do when she finds out about this. She's attacked you so many times before. For far less reasons, according to Father."
"Yeah, I tend to check my window immediately when I wake up at night."
"All she's done to you…" Angela said, ruefully, "I just don't want you to hate me."
"Never!" Elisa said, immediately. "Never, Angela, I swear." She took hold of Angela's hands. "Nothing Demona does, did, or will ever do will make me see you like her or make me blame you for what she does. You are family to me, Angela. I love you like a sister. I really do. When I became part of this Clan… I saw it more like a family. You're family to me."
"Elisa…"
"I'm not… trying to disrupt the gargoyle hierarchy but… it's entirely possible me and Goliath will… never have any kids."
Angela looked down in sadness. She always knew that might be an issue. She just didn't want to bring it up. It felt too heartless to do so, especially to Elisa.
"But…" Elisa stared at Angela, almost in tears, "…if you… and Goliath will let me… allow me to see you… as a daughter… I would be so proud. I already love you so much."
Angela's tears formed immediately. "Elisa!" She hugged Elisa. "Of course! Of course!"
Elisa hugged Angela back. "Thank you."
After Elisa and Angela talked, they returned to the others and the Clan left the castle to perform their usual patrol. They returned to the castle a few hours later, sans Goliath, Elisa, and Angela, who hadn't arrived just yet.
"Another quiet night!" Lexington exhaled, relievedly.
"Yeah, for you!" Brooklyn replied. "I ended up stopping three robberies."
"Why didn't you come find one of us?" Broadway asked.
"Eh. Wasn't that bad."
Goliath landed, carrying Elisa, with Angela landing right after Goliath.
"And we're all back safe," Hudson declared. "A good night, indeed."
"Almost time to get some sleep," Broadway noted.
"I'm going to take Elisa home," Goliath informed. "I'll be back tonight."
"Sure thing."
"Really happy for you guys," Lexington declared. "Just wanted to say it again."
"Thanks, Lex," Elisa smiled.
Brooklyn paused. Then his eyes widened. "Umm. Soooooo… I have a question."
"What is it?" Goliath asked.
"How do you think… Talon will take this?"
Everyone stopped, staring blankly at Brooklyn.
Elisa rubbed her eyes. "Oh, boy…"
A/N: Yes. What will Talon's reaction be? We'll see. Very soon! See you all later!
