Chapter 13 The Tanith Histories part 3
SGC to underneath Long Beach via Odyssey
At the same moment of the preceddeing chapter
Looking over the codebook that Cam handed me I flipped through it, words, letters, everything was in it, just exactly what I needed to translate both Mahumeds wifes books, as well as Taniths letter, and finally, the Furling book that at one point belonged to Catherine. "Where did you manage to get your hands on this ?" I asked Cam
"Tharon, Taniths husband gave me this copy of it before he disappeared, after I told him that Taith disappeared from our truck on Iota." Cam replied to me as I flipped through the pages. I nodded then, remembering that Cam mentioned that already "Why, is something wrong ?"
"Nope, everything is perfect. According to the database in Janus' lab, there is something below Long Beach," I started to say
"Yeah" Rodney said from the laptop nearby. "A good kilometer underground. According to his notes, Janus apparently hid some of his research at that location, or used it as a base or home for a while before Atlantis left Earth all those generations ago to go to Pegasus" He looked up at us. "Interesting stuff though"
"Tell me something good aside from an ancient lab being in america" Cam replied, a grumpy tone in his voice
"Turns out its not strictly just an Ancient lab made by Janus and a few others, but its also a Furling outpost, and from what I understand, its also got something of a Furling information vault somewhere in it as well" I replied.
"Finding the level of encryption though was not easy, but it was simpler once we typed in what we were looking for, two things, the planet Ascretta, and the Furlings. And how they're connected with the Ancients" Rodney said
"That's three things" Cam said to him, which made him glare as I raised an eyebrow, normally Cam wasnt that observant.
"Yes it is, but even so, once we put those search terms into the information for Janus lab, it spit out the coordinates for a cavern under Long Beach. I'm using the Odyssey's sensors to scan it carefully it looks something like an Ancient facility. But its also somewhat Oriental as well" Rodney said, he brought up a 3d map on the screen.
Seeing it Cam whistled. "Thats even bigger than what we found in England while following Valas adventure seed." Cam said, the cavern was three levels, and it looked like it was designed with rooms for living in mind.
"Thats a thousand meters below ground. Drilling wont do a lick of good" I mumbled.
"Drilling no, but beaming in, easy. Apparently there's a area off the sewer network. According to this sensor scan, its a Ancient transporter." Rodney spoke up as I looked at him.
"A what ?" Cam asked, how could an Ancient transporter be on Earth ?
"Where ?" I asked Rodney brought ont the screen what looked like a sewer hub. Looked easy to get into.
"What I am guessing is that when this place was built, long beach was a mountain top or a naturally occuring cavern, so a transporter was put there, with the other end... there" Rodney zoomed the map out to show where the other end was. Dead in the center of the three level cavern.
"So we have our way in." Cam said
"That is going to be a problem" Rodney spoke up, "The place this transporter is, its in gang territory, a guy named Calitri owns the property, getting in is going to be the hard part." Rodney said. He brought up some information concerning car gangs and otherwise.
"A salvage yard as a front for illegal activites." Cam mumbled. He smirked, "Well, Tanith was a streetracer, and she was also a model for Kay Jewelery, and Spokeswoman for Hummer growing up. Her father reportedly helped the police track down Raymond Calitri..." Cam said.
I looked at him, as did Rodney. "Tanith was a streetracer ?" I asked
"Yup, the guy I spoke with to get her address was formerly a streetracer as well, a nice guy, a dad. He told me to leave, but once I told him Tanith sent me, he told me what I needed to know." Cam said, he smiled then, "I also offered them a chance to work with us. We might need him and his crew."
"You also brought him aboard the Odyssey" Rodney mumbled. "Good thing too, he worked with Nobody. So that puts him on the SGCs recruitment list. But he declined."
"Who ?" I asked
"A guy named Dominic Toretto. He worked with Agent Nobody, so I figured showing him Earth from the Odyssey's mess hall could prove to him that Tanith's in trouble, it worked, I offered him and his entire crew a job offer with us, he said he'd think about it" Cam replied
"So this guy was a former street racer and worked with Tanith ?" I asked in thought
"Tanith was also married to the guy who gave me that black code book" Cam said pointing at the book in my hand, I just knew I was going to use it to the point of it falling apart. But for once I hoped to figure out the entirety of Furling writing system. "Did we find anything more about Tanith ?" Cam then asked
"Yeah, that strange gene also was in Lt James bloodwork file, and also a few others I was able to get samples of from Miami, and Mahumeds wife" I said, I tapped the code book against Cams chest, the man looked at me confused. "Each file had the same gene, its feline in nature. So that tablet, the holo and all, is definitely Furling, its more then likely calling back those who came here." I explained
"And that's a good thing, we found Tanith, and she's... well. Fuzzier than normal. Bens been running trace routes on the energy surges and lightning bolts that took Tanith, and Major Pendergast, and the folks from Miami." Rodney said
"So where is she ? Did she come back to Atlantis with you ?" Cam asked
"Like I told Daniel here," Rodney replied as he motioned to me, "Tanith thought it better to stay on Ascretta for the time being, saying something of more of their kind showing up at complete random, so Ben offered to stay at the Ascretta controlroom and monitor the energy surges planetside." Rodney went back to typing,. "Not including Major Pendergast, Ben counted fourtyone energy surges."
"One of those energy surges was of a six year old boy from Ohio. I take it he hasnt been found yet on the planet ?" Cam asked
Rodney shook his head "We were more focused on finding Major Pendergast, and found her with Tanith in orbit in their own puddlejumper." He sighed and sat back in his chair, "We didnt have time to do a scan of the planet and see who else was there. That and Tanith was focused on keeping us in certain areas, so we didnt pressure her."
"More then likely it was possibly for safety of the others, if the Miami cast is indeed on Ascretta right now." I spoke up, Cam looked at me as did Rodney
"What ?" Rodney asked as he looked at me confused
"Think about it, the Miami crew, they were dancers, singers, actors, with no military experience or survival experience between any of them other then maybe going camping during the off seasons, just dancing and acting. Tanith more then likely wanted you guys to stay away from them, or vice vcersa for their own safety" I said in thought. It made sense and Rodney pursed his lips
"I'm still not sure how a Ancient lab here in America, in Long Beach a kilometer below Taniths kitchen, is of any help" Cam grumbled.
"Using the Odyssey's transport beams I can get you to that building with a small squad. The building has power according to the scans, so it'll fire up without issue. Its just getting past the gangwar in the area that will be a problem" Rodney said. He looked to me and Cam.
I traded looks with him. "What did General Landry say ?" Cam asked me
"He said to ask you if you wanted to go to Long Beach beach after the mission." I replied, Cam raised an eyebrow. Then nodded
"Alright, you owe me a beer after this." Cam said, he clapped me on a shoulder and headed out of my office. "I'll meet you on the Odyssey." Cam called as he disappeared down the hall.
Rodney visible sighed, "Thank God Agent Nobody recruited Toretto and his family already. That makes my job easier if they want to see Atlantis, that'd be up to the Joint Chiefs and IOA" Rodney said
"I do not think they're going to want to see Atlantis, but I am pretty damn sure they will want to see Tanith" I replied. I hadnt been able to read down on Taniths full profile yet, but I only knew what I was told about her aside from her medical records at least.
"Even if we could let them meet up with her, its not like it could happen here" Rodney replied in thought.
"It could, so long as we only ask for one thing, a single blood sample, and thats it" I replied Also in thought.
Rodney raised an eyebrow but pointed at me. "You realise how stupid this sounds ? Ask for a blood sample fine, and then what ? Let them go and say "have a nice trip" and pray that the scientific community doesnt capture them for experimenting ?" Rodney said
"We could always say that Japan was right in most of their anime and television shows, Nekos are real" I replied looking back at him. Rodney's jaw snapped shut with a clack. He had no idea how to answer that.
10 minutes later
Aboard the Odyssey
"This is close as we can get you" Rodney said as I grabbed a sidearm. The map he had laid out for us showed the structure, a large warehouse similar to a Maresk shipping company, only in this case it was smack dab in the center of a salvage yard in Long Beach.
"Taniths house is here" Cam tapped the map. A good five klicks north was Taniths address. "So why do we have to go all the way down here to get inside ?"
"Because I did a scan of Taniths house when you gave me her address" Rodney said, he started typing on his tablet.
"Yeah, and ?" Cam asked him
Rodney sighed and lowered his hand, "The nearest route to the trnasporter is directly through this building, and this building. As well as a two hundred yard cargo channel" Rodney pointed out the route. "The nearest thing to anything ancient in the house is the book you gave Daniel" Rodney said to him
Cam traded looks with me as I picked up the book and slid it into a pocket. "What can we expect ?" Cam then asked
"According to the lifesigns scan there is minimal guards on the place, mostly roving patrols. And apparently a camera system but I can easily hack into that no problem there." Rodney said in reply
I nodded as Rodney looked at me concerning the cameras. "Hack into them and make sure they dont see us. Have fun" I said to him. Rodney smiled and got to work typing rapidly on the keyboard.
"Works for me, lets go find this thing, whatever it is." Cam said.
"Good luck" Rodney said, we were beamed down into the structure soundlessly.

Seconds later
Cam and I followed Rodneys directions, a squad of Marines were with us. SG-18 were ready and raring to go at the first sign of trouble. But Cam had to warn them about what he could find out from Dom. Long Beach was mostly Calitris turf, and the Trans were a buffer between the Torettos turf and Long Beach. For Tanith to live there however put a small foothold for Dom's crew with Tanith and her husband. Both trained Marines.
"You see anything and it shoots at you, shoot it, dont bother with a warning shot. Ammo is expesinve, but paperwork is boring, shoot only when shot at." Cam said, He and I went into the transporter and disappeared.
The room was empty, and it reminded me of underneath the fabled castle of camelot cavern in England. After looking around we found a set of stairs and stepped down them, the cavern was built like an Ancient structure, but it also had a strong oriental feel to it. "Alright, why do I feel like we just entered a Asian movie set ?" Cam asked as we walked around, bamboo pillars held back the walls, so expertly designed.
"I dont know, but this is definently furling" I said in reply, I took the book out of my pocket and found some writing, translating the letters. "Welcome Home" I said aloud
"What ?" Cam asked me
I pointed at the wall, a door of some kind. "It says welcome home"
"Whose home ?" Cam asked
"I dont know, Taniths maybe ?" I replied, at that moment the lights started to come on, dim and gradually getting brighter. Whoa. We could soon quickly see the interior perfectly.
The structure was divided into three levels. We were on the top level of the three. And looked down on the lower two floors. "Looks nice, very homey" Cam said, on the walls where there was apparently windows, the light indicated the time of day. The floor we were on had four bedrooms, with bathrooms. And then a public bathroom was on the middle level with eating and cooking areas. And finally the lowest level had what we sought. A being sat there, seated on what had to be a sofa were there one. But no, the hologram or was it a hologram, was seated instead on thin air
"Hello ?" I asked it
"Welcome home dear" the hologram, it had to be a hologram said. The very feline woman stood up. And walked towards us her arms outstritched. We stopped, but the feline woman looked remarkably familiar.
The hologram disappeared as it walked through us. "You found it, that's good" Came a voice. We turned around. We spotted someone, pale golden light flowed off his body feline body. "I never thought I'd live to see the day someone finding this old place." I stepped forwards. It was a hologram alright, my hand went through it as if it was nothing.
"Please, state your inqury" The hologram was of a young feline male, he stood about two meters tall. And in the holo his fur was a tabby pattern of brown and black.
Cam and I traded looks. Then I said "Uh yes, Is there anything regarding the Furlings in this place ? We came here looking for that" I said to the hologram
The hologram disappeared in a shimmer of light. Seconds later, tables shimmered into view, on them were pieces of a past we'd never seen before. The voice spoke again. "The Furlings had to leave their world because of a supernova. We brought them to Ascretta, but some of them came with us to Terra, to Earth.
"Those who came with us to Earth loved this planet, and chose this area to reside. Those we transplaneted to Ascretta grew in number, and could build many ships, cities, homes. Families." The hologram tables of information disappeared.
"Alas, the time at Ascretta was lost to us, for another race sought our world, our ship builders, or resources. We fought back, but then fled. We fought until we died fighting. The Ancients were unable to help us, for they had all departed, gaining their new forms. So we had to come on our own"
"The spells were not easy, but it was possible, we were cut off from the Stargate, but we could duplicate its wormhole on our own with the use of magical means. The spell was too powerful however" The voice went on, a hologram of the events played around Cam and I.
"And here I was hoping for something more tangible." I mumbled.
The hologram showed seven wizard type Furlings, making a portal spell, three of them imploded entirely, disappearing as if they never exisited. "Whoa" Cam said, even in a hologram it was gristly. And yet so quickly occurred I almost missed it.
We traded looks. "The furlings fled Ascretta, twenty five of them." The voice listed then twenty five names. Cam and I stood there dumbfounded. We traded looks again.
The voice finally said "They went to Egypt on the nile Delta. Those of us who remained on Earth even when the others were transplaneted to Ascretta, never made contact with the Furlings of Egypt." The hologram faded, and in its place was piles of silver, gold, weapons, clothing and books.
The hologram reformed of the Furling man. "Those who lived in this abode were known as Tanith, her husband Tharon, and their children, an occasional guest was a close friend, Janus, and his best friend Melia. Moros saw to it that Janus research had stopped when they left Atlantis, but he continued it here with Tanith and myself." The hologram then faded, in its place was a terminal control panel.
The hologram took us on a full tour of duty so to speak for the Furling people, their lives leading up to the moment they had to leave Ascretta up to when they had all died out. I activated the terminal. The screens on the walls came to life.
Cam, started through everything, it didnt make a lot of sense. But it was good enough to get a start. "Use this to your own needs, for we did not have much use for it after our own deaths. But be careful. The hounds of Anubis were hot on the trail of the Furlings in Egypt, pray they do not come for you" the vice finally faded away. Leaving me and Cam alone, with a shit load of gold, silver, and other gemstones.
I found I could take the terminal panel from its place, and if a screen was nearby I could use it to acces the data on board, it was written in Furling. Somehow Tanith knew it.
We were about to head back to the transporter when Cam stopped me. "What is it ?"
"That hologram said that this place was lived in by Tanith, and her husband Tharon, and their children, with the occasional visit of those two Ancients, right ?" Cam said
"Yeah, Janus and Melia, according to the database, Melia was on the Ancient Council and oversaw the city of Atlantis, while Janus did his top secret research without her knowing," I replied, I looked at him confused. "Why ?"
"So since he wasnt able to continue his research there" Cam ventured
"When Janus couldnt finish or work further on his research in Atlantis at his lab, he came here to Taniths house, and did further research here, and then finally acended and disappeared." I replied, I set the terminal on the steps. "Alright, this doesnt make sense" I said at long last.
"Tell me about it" Cam said
"We know a Tanith, I never met her husband, you met the guy, hell I didnt even know she was married." I replied, "we never met the Furlings and somehow we just spoke to a Furling hologram, fully interactive at that" I jerked my thumb at where the hologram once was. "Now we're being told that the Furlings both lived in this part of the world as well as Egypt..."
"So we go back to Tell Basta ?" Cam asked me
"Maybe." I replied, I typed further on the terminal in fornt of me, a string of numbers showed up, and where it zoned in on was the ruins outside, but within the property line of Tell Basta. "According to this, there is a ancient burial site far below the ruins at Tell Basta"
"So we're going on another ancient arcaeology dig ?" Cam asked me as he stood from a pile of gemstones. I found myself thankful that Vala wasnt there, she'd try to take up all the gold before I could even catelog and figure out what did what
"Looks like it" I said in reply "According to this, its easy to access, but given the conditions of the desert, we might need some digging gear. Also a tent for sky covering. But otherwise its identical to this structure, only in this case its designed strictly for burials." I explained
"So a crypt ?" Cam asked, I nodded
"Looks that way." I told him
"So its back to Tell Basta then" Cam turned and headed for the stairs. But he stopped at my voice.
"Whoa" I said. It was a simple word, and it got his attention
"What ?" Cam asked me, turning and coming back.
"I think I just hit the jackpot" I replied, I activated a string of letters in Furling. It was an ancient ancient poem written by the Furlings detailing their initial arrival on their new world, Ascretta, and those also going with the Ancients to Earth and settling there.
"So its an old peom, sure explains the Bigfoot myths" Cam said
"But that's not the jackpot" I replied, I hit a key at the end of the poem, a dozen star patterns appeared. "These are"
"Whoa" Cam said, "Are those ?" The dozen stargate addresses were listed, each constellation our stargate had access to.
"Stargate addresses, all of them" I replied, a smile on my face. Rodney was going to get a kick out of this.
Cam pointed at one of the strings of addresses on the wall. "Thats a stargate address ?" He asked, the squigly symbols didnt make sense.
"It must be ? Rodney said that they found a third stargate, no power, on Ascretta, set up to be a shrine, its possible this string of symbols connect to it." I said in reply
"Yeah, that's well and good, the problem is, our 'gate doesnt have those symbols on it, at all." Cam said to me
"Yeah, maybe it was a test address ? You know like, make a stargate, then make another, and then use a random string of data for dialing as a test ?" I said in thought. Cam looked at me.
"Seeing you ramble like this makes me nervous." He said to me, I smirked. "This is above my paygrade" Cam grumbled
"None of us signed up to get famous" I replied, having a sense of deja vu however
"Nah, I did it for the money" Cam replied, it made me snicker. As I noted down each address symbol. "Got everything ?"
"Yup, I'll let Mahumed know if he should do anything should cat people show up in his front yard" I said, we headed for the transporter. "Odyssey, this is Jackson come in"
"Go ahead" Came Rodney's voice.
"We got what we came for, there's a lot of gold and gemstones too. But the main thing is, we got what we came for, for the most part. Beam down a group of guys to catelog things though." Cam and I returned then to the Odyssey. I used the Asgard core to hook the terminal up.

The holograms shimmered and changed and then focused on a string of eleven different worlds, all of which were in the Milky Way. But Ascretta, was outside the Milky way.
"Huh" I said seeing the results on the holo floating around us.
"What ?" Rodney asked, unable to translate either Asgard or Furling, but easily able to translate the Ancient stuff we had found in the Furling terminal
"You said Ascretta had a Pegasus stargate right ?" I asked him
"Yeah, and that's the weird thing, its the primary stargate on the planet, however, there's another startgate according to Tanith." Rodney said, I looked at him, then remembered, he had said he had found Tanith, and the bad news was he also found Major Pendergast, Claire was a good kid what little I remembered of her.
"And then you found the shrine with a powerless stargate ?" I said
"That's where it gets weird" Rodney said, he nodded and shrugged, "But yeah. That planet has three stargates on it, and one of them is a milky way gate, the other is a pegasus gate. The planet also has a uranium core." Rodney tried to explain
"Radioactive core ?" I asked in alarm, that was news to me
"Yeah, the weird thing, its directly connected to the Milky Way stargate instead of the Pegasus gate, its possibly why the gate can connect to the SGC or vice versa." Rodney said, he leaned on the doorframe, "why ?"
"You think we can go there ?" I asked him, already wanting to meet with Tanith, the Furlings, Tanith was at one point a human woman, but thanks to her strange genetic makeup, she wasnt human to begin with. She wasnt even an Ancient, but she was a Furling.
Which was weird.
Rodney snapped his fingers a few times; "You mentioned a kid from a day care center was also taken in a storm right ?" He asked
"Yeah. Why ?" I replied in question as Rodney activated a string of numbers on the asgard core and hit the figurative enter key. The data that showed up scared us both.
"Thats not good" Rodney said seeing the screen I had preprogrammed pop up. It was a video image of the hologram at Tell Basta activating.
"No its not" I agreed. "Where is the storm happening ?"
"According to this, the storm is occuring in the centeral plains of Iowa and also Brazil, Rio, and Cozumel Mexico" Rodney said. That made four new storms on planet below. And we could see the one over Brazils centeral plain. "Long range sensors are also picking up storms on two Jaffa ally planets, as well as a Ancient outpost planet." Rodney said
"The Furlings are going home, they used to live on Earth, its possible that Ra or the other system lords had transplanted a few of them on accident." I said
"That wouldnt work, you said it yourself. Ra fled Earth three thousand years ago. The area in Egypt he was in was nowhere near Tell Basta" Rodney said to me, I nodded in consession, he had a point.
"So what do we do ?" I asked. A tech showed up. "What ?"
"Sir, we're receiving a message from the SGC, they say a highschool in Iowa City had been hit by lightning, its on lockdown now and they're taking names of each student present as we speak." The man said
Rodney and I traded looks. "OK, so this hologram activates the storm, when the hologram ends, the storms end, and the people recalled home to Ascretta get transported there." I said in thought
"Only somehow they get turned into bipedial humanoid cats about two meters tall. Tanith herself was like a dark calico, red, black, gold, silver and white mix of colors in her fur pattern, her ears were solid black along with her tail. Her face was pretty though." Rodney explained. I could tell how he expalined it that it kind of made him jealous
"You're a cat lover huh ?" I asked him, Somehow I hit a nerve
He looked at me "What makes you say that ?" he asked me, suddenly nervous.
"Its the way you described Tanith as a two meter tall bipedial catwoman with a dark tortishell fur coloration that made me wonder" I replied to him
Rodney sighed, then nodded. "Yeah, I have a cat, well, had a cat before I went to Atlantis, I gave him to my sister Jeanie to care for while I was gone" He said. He sighed again. "Seeing Tanith and Major Pendergast now after they both disappeared and turned into cats, it was all I could do to... to... well, I wanted to pet Tanith between the ears" He was not the least bit ashamed of that statement either
"Not exactly the reply I was expecting but it'll do" I said to him, I turned towards the airman, a man named St. James, "Thank you, let General Landry know that Cam and I'll visit the highschool once the storm clears, we'll want to talk to the principal if we're able." I said
"That's just it sir, of the seven people who so far disappeared in that school, the principal is one of them." Said St James, whose first name was Randall. It was not the reply either of us expected.
"What about assistant principal ?" Rodney asked as Cam came into the room
"She's still there, but the kids are worried." Said Randall
"Are we there yet ?" Cam asked as he arrived. We looked at him. "What ? Did I say something wrong ?"
"Might say that" Rodney said, Cam glared at him.
"Why is he not confined to quarters ?" Cam asked me
"Because we're working, and we have some bad news, so far seven people, the principal, a teacher, and five students, were more then likely taken in that storm in Iowa" I told Cam, which made him go oddly quiet.
Then he asked. "That explains why we're going home in a moment huh ?"
"Maybe, maybe not, Rodney, is it possible to get you back to Atlantis fast as possible ?" I looked to him.
"You want me out of your hair, go for it I can try with Bens help to see if we can find the new arrivals. But no promises." Rodney said, he got on his radio, "Bridge this is McKay, beam me down to the SGC please, thank you." Seconds later Rodney disappeared.
Cam and I traded looks, "What ?" Cam asked. He knew I looked at him in a thoughtful sort of way, and it made him nervous.
"When you spoke with Toretto, what did he tell you ?" I asked him, once it was explained to me about what Toretto knew of Tanith past and her skills as a streetracer and former model. It got me thinking.
"Why ?" Cam then asked
"Her being a former model for a few jewelery companies, they had to finance everything for her, did you contact her father ?" I asked as we left the asgard core room for the bridge.
Cam shook his head, "No actually just Dominic and Tharon, I never did get the address for her father" Cam replied, he then went on to explain what he could before Tharon himself disappeared in a bolt of lightning. Cam sighed and then pointed to where Rodney was before returning to Atlantis. "McKay saw and spoke with Tanith right ?"
"Yeah" I replied, I looked at him, "Why ?"
"Think about this a second, why didnt Tanith come back to Atlantis with him, why didnt Major Pendergast come back with him ? Either of them, to Atlantis ? Why leave a Replicator on the planet ?" Cam asked, rapidfire questions, and all of them made sense.
"From what I understand, Tanith was worried she might become a subject of experimentation, maybe even seen as an alien outsider, or something of a furry cosplayer who took it one step too far" I mused in thought as we walked through the corridors of the Odyssey
"Alright being seen as an experiement subject I can see concern about" Cam said, "but why leave the Replicator there ?"
"You were at the briefing" I told him
"Yeah, most of it went over my head" Cam admitted, true, sometimes it would, and I could recall the times when it went over Jacks head too.
"Understandable" I replied as we entered the bridge. "Whats up ?" I aslked Eli
"We've been tracking the storm, there's something taking spcific people and taking them somewhere in space. We've manage to track it so far. To this point" A holographic map appeared on the bridge windscreen as Eli spoke.
"Just past the moon" I mused
"Yeah, thing is, we can track it past the moon, our tracking ends just within trajectory of the moon" Eli replied.
"So, shall we head home ?" Cam asked
"Yeah, I think I figured out everything I can up here. The rest of it will be from Rodney's side" I replied, I nodded to the transport operator. "Send us down to the SGC please, we'll worry about the school later"

Minutes later
"Tell me some good news" Hank said as we walked down the hallway and up a flight of stairs. "I got the IOA and Homeland Security yapping wanting something of information of what happened in Iowa, Cozumel, and Rio. What is going on ?"
"The good news is we're able to track as far as the moon, after that, somehow the people taken by the storms reappear on the planet known as Ascretta." I replied
"We got a list of stargate addresses, one of them is where we dialed and sent a UAV through on a mapping course when we got Taniths note." Cam spoke up.
Hank looked between us as we walked up the last set of stairs into the briefing room. "According to Rodney the planet known as Ascretta is where they're being sent to, or transported back to. According to what we could find there was a mass exodus of about twenty five of them, the rest soon were apparently reborn here on Earth" I said
"Meaning what ?" Hank asked
"Meaning that we never found or met the Furlings because they've been hiding among humans for at least five thousand years after coming to Earth around nine thousand years ago." I replied to Hank.
"So whats your plan ?" Hank asked me as we took our seats at the briefing room table.
"I want to try those other ten addresses we found, according to Rodney one of the addresses we cant dial or connect to because the only stargate with those designs on them has no source for power." I replied
"Why ?" Hank asked
"Its possible that the Furlings have outposts on those planets and more then likely might live there even as we speak." I said to him, "its possible they dont even know of their... well.. I guess their extended family getting recalled to Ascretta." I said
"So in other words they might have colonies out there in the galaxy at these addresses ?" Hank asked
I nodded. "Its possible and worth looking into" I replied
Hank thought a moment, then nodded. "Alright, I have no idea wether or not this is a good thing, or a bad thing. But for now, Dr Jackson, you have a go. See what you can find on those addresses. I need something I can give to the IOA and to Homeworld Security by tonight after the events in Iowa" Hank told me, I nodded.
"I'll see what I can do" I told him, I left to go to my office, I had my dry erase board ready to go and took it to the control room. If I could find Taniths extended feline family we'd be in luck.
Hopefully time was on our side.
