As they were silently walking back to the gate, they began talking again.
"I feel sorry for him" said Charlie.
"I do too, I mean…with parents like that you can't help but feel sorry for him" said Vaggie.
"Yeah, I…I always thought the reason Nightfright didn't want to talk about his human life was because he had a troubled past and...what he told us…" Vaggie cut her off.
"Was on point, yeah" she said.
"Let's just go back to the Hotel and don't talk about this to anyone else" said Charlie.
"Yeah, let's do that" Vaggie replied.
As they opened and closed the gate on their way out, a large red dragon was watching them from on top of a cliff. Once they left, it spread it's wings and took off towards the direction they came from. Nightfright was at the facility, when he saw it coming. He smiled as it landed in front of him and then transformed into Scarlett.
"I saw our visitors leave" she said.
"Good. How are you...getting used to being able to change into a dragon" Nightfright asked.
"Not gonna lie, I was a little hesitant and worried about it at first. But now, I love it" Scarlett replied.
"I knew you would" said Nightfright.
"What did our visitors have to say" she asked.
"Where I got this place and what I hope to achieve" he replied.
"Did you tell them that Lucifer gifted it to you" she asked.
"No, I lied and told them I bought it. I'd rather keep things...a mystery with them" he replied.
Scarlett just giggled as they walked towards one of the warehouses.
"So…what idea do you have for the latest killing machine" she asked.
He whispered the idea into her ear and she grinned with glee.
"Now that's just awesome" she said.
"I know" Nightfright replied.
They entered the warehouse and closed the door behind them, five seconds later a bright red light began emitting from inside.
Meanwhile Charlie and Vaggie got back to the hotel and tried their best to stay positive for the rest of the day, when Alastor approached Charlie.
"That was quite a long walk today my dear, what took so long" he asked her.
"Oh it's nothing, just a long walk that's all" Charlie replied.
"Really now, nothing interesting happened" he asked her.
"OK, fine. To keep it short, Vaggie and I stumbled upon Nightfright and his new base of operations" Charlie replied.
"Have you now" Alastor asked.
"Yeah. And well...we asked him what his was doing" she replied.
"Is that so? And what did he tell you" Alastor asked, curious.
"That he was creating more living nightmares, more specifically what he likes to call highly effective living weapons." Charlie replied.
"Interesting" Alastor replied.
"We also found out that he's married and Vaggie asked him how him and his wife died" said Charlie.
"Hmm…did he reveal anything else? Or he wouldn't say another word" Alastor asked.
"He didn't want to talk about but he did tell us that both of his parents were-" Alastor cut her off.
"Abuse towards him" said Alastor.
"How did you-" he cut her off again.
"I took him under my wing remember? He told me about that" said Alastor.
"Al, why didn't you tell me this" Charlie asked.
"He wanted me to keep it a secret. To which I happily did" said Alastor.
"Be honest with me Al. You became friends with him because you saw that he has Negative Energy magic and you thought you could use an ally like that" said Charlie, crossing her arms.
"Well, that's what I thought from the beginning, yes. But then after he told me what his life was like and what he enjoyed doing. After he was done I thought "He's not so bad after all. He just despises the bad side of humanity" said Alastor.
"The bad side of humanity? What does that mean" Charlie asked him.
"Unfortunately my dear, I can't tell you. I promised my friend I'd keep it a secret for him" Alastor replied.
"Hmm...OK, promises are things that can't be broken I guess" said Charlie.
"Just relax my dear. If you see him again, don't ask him about his past. When he told me what his life was like, I could tell he was feeling rather uncomfortable about it. So it's best to just respect his privacy and not ask him about it. He'll open up about it when he feels it's right" said Alastor.
He then turned around and walked away, Charlie smiling right behind him.
That night, Alastor teleported to Nightfright and Scarlett's penthouse apartment to pay them a visit. He knocked on the door and they saw him smiling through the curtains. They smiled and opened the door.
"Hello my friend, quite a surprise to see you" he said.
He and Scarlett walked outside to join.
"My my, that's quite the look you have" said Alastor.
"Thank you. In all honesty, I really like. Makes me look…unique" said Scarlett.
"Quite so…I heard from Charlotte that you encountered her and Vaggie today" he said.
"Oh yeah. They found my little base of operations and I let them in for a bit of a chat and for them to see my work so far" said Nightfright.
"And what did they see" Alastor asked.
"Not much, just the forests crawling with my deadliest creations so far" Nightfright replied.
"When you encountered them did you...talk to them about anything" Alastor asked.
"Well yes. I told them how I make my money, selling negative energy infused weapons on the black market. That my current goal is to create a highly effective living weapon, and by that I mean an unstoppable and powerful living nightmare" Nightfright replied.
"Oh, and how is that coming along" Alastor asked.
"We just have one more in the works. After that, it's enough, right honey" Scarlett asked him.
"Right, this last one however…it's the biggest. At 50 feet long and 20 feet tall" said Nightfright.
"My, my...that's quite big" Alastor asked.
"Yes and it'll be just as powerful" Nightfright replied.
"In that case do Lucifer and Lilith know about it? If it is as big and powerful as you both suggest" Alastor asked them.
"Yeah they know. I told them about it and they said as long as it doesn't cause too much destruction and mayhem, they're OK with it" said Nightfright.
"Oh splendid! With the king and queen allowing such a thing to exist, nobody will stop you both from using it" said Alastor.
"Indeed my friend, indeed" Nightfright replied.
"Love to stay and continue to chat but the night is young…pleasant night to the both of you" said Alastor.
He then opened a portal and walked through it. It closed and Nightfright and Scarlett stood on the balcony talking.
"Honestly, I can't believe we've only been in hell for less than 2 years and we've already accomplished so much" said Nightfright.
"Yeah, back when we were alive and human we could only dream of this kind of lifestyle, now we actually have it" said Scarlett.
"Yeah…if everyone in Pentagram City thought last year's show was something they'll run screaming this year" said Nightfright.
"They'll absolutely run screaming, once they see the Diabolus Rex in action" said Scarlett.
"Oh…I can only imagine the looks on their faces when that happens" Nightfright replied.
He and Scarlett lustfully embraced each other and laughed maniacally as everything faded to black except for their glowing red eyes.
