Marley stood for the glass, to watch her son as Alec went over to her, followed by Izzy. "Our son is strong, he will make it." Alec told her.
"I know, but I worry." Marley told him.
"He's gonna be okay." Izzy told them.
Marley sighed. "I know." She told her, then she looked at her son. "As I said, I worry about him and I hope he make it." Her eyes tears up.
Then Alec pulled her into a hug as he too looked at his son. "He will make it." He promised her and himself.
"He will." Marley now agreed.
They here now in Alec's office, Izzy, Marley and Alec were discussing Clary's situation. "You're the Head of the Institute." Izzy told to Alec. "Can't you demand to know what happened with Clary?"
Alec sighed, looking at her. "I've tried. The Council is freezing me out."
"There's got to be something that we can do." Marley told them.
Just then, there's a knock on the open door and Magnus entered. "Sorry to interrupt."
Marley looked at her father. "Dad."
"Looks like someone needs a coffee." Izzy comment to him.
"Oh, no thank you." Magnus looked at her. "I already had six. So, I was up all night researching the dark magic that Lilith has been using on Jace. I may have found a way to free him."
Alec looked at him with eyes widen. "What? How?" He exclaimed.
"Based on your descriptions, it seems Lilith has Jace locked in some kind of a mental cage, and the only solution is breaking that cage by blasting Jace with enough magic to eviscerate her presence." Magnus replied to him.
"Dad, do you have the power to do that?" Marley asked to her father.
"No, but I will. In the Book of the White, I found a synthesis spell that'll allow me to temporarily channel… the magic of other warlocks." Magnus replied to his daughter.
"I will help you." Marley stated.
Magnus shook with his head. "No, you just give birth."
"I don't like it." Marley comment.
"I know." Magnus nodded.
Izzy looked at Magnus. "How many warlocks?"
"I'll need at least about a dozen to match Lilith's strength." Magnus replied to her. "I'll have to call in some favours, but this should work. There's just one tiny catch. We'll need the High Warlock's permission to organize something on this scale."
"I will still come." Marley stated. "To watch over you and the other warlocks."
Magnus nodded. "Okay."
Alec had invited over Lorenzo to talk about Lilith. They were sitting in the office, Marley was there as well. "Lilith, Queen of Edom, here in New York City?" Lorenzo asked to him. "That's a terrifying prospect."
"It is indeed." Alec replied to him. "My Institute is hunting her as we speak. But she's proven rather elusive." Reaching for the tea pot. "More tea?"
"Yes, please." Lorenzo comment. "Té rojo is my favorite."
Alec poured more tea into Lorenzo's cup. "Lilith has taken a lieutenant using some form of mind control. A Shadowhunter. Our goal is to break him free, so that he can tell us everything about her plans, her location and her weaknesses. But this will require a great deal of magic."
"You want my warlocks to confront this lieutenant?" Lorenzo asked to him.
"No. Only one." Alec replied to him. "Magnus Bane. He has found a spell that allows him to channel the magic of other warlocks. He'll be the only one in danger. Of course, we would never move forward without your blessing."
Lorenzo stood up. "The Shadowhunters have a duty to fight demons, but the warlocks do not. By helping you, we risk making an enemy of a Queen of Hell. Lilith isn't even a threat to us."
Marley stood up as well, looking at him and spoke up for the first time. "Yes, she is. She corrupted the ley lines, endangering warlocks all over the city."
"That issue was resolved." Lorenzo comment.
Then, Alec chuckled. "Yes. And while you gladly took the credit, we both know who really purified those ley lines. Maybe your people deserve to know the truth too. I risked my Institute helping the warlocks. If you have any honour, you'll return the favour."
"El honor es en el acto." Lorenzo told him. "I will speak to my people about this at once."
Then Alec stood up as then he and Lorenzo shook hands.
Later, Marley was walking outside, she needed some fresh air and she needed to go to her father as then she bumped into someone. "Sorry." She stood up and was greeted by blue eyes, that was looking back at her almost emotionless like he has lost something.
"No worries, I'm fine." The man was a little grumpily as then he looked at her and took out his hand. "I'm Damon."
Marley took it and they shook it. "I'm Marley." She introduced herself.
"Why are you walking in this late hour?" Damon asked to her.
"I needed some fresh air." Marley replied to him.
"It's not very wise to do, when you are young." Damon comment. "You don't know, who lurking to yah."
"Oh, don't yah worry, I'm tougher than I look." Marley told him, crossing with her arms.
"Okay." Damon nodded. "How old are you?" He eyed her, suspiciously.
"I'm 19." Marley replied to him. "Why would you ask?" She was now suspicious.
"Just the way you look." Damon replied. "You look older than you are."
"Well…" She trailed off.
"Are you?" He asked, suspiciously.
"Not exactly, but that isn't your worries, Damon." Marley replied to him. "Besides, I need to go back."
Then, Damon flashed forwards and made her forget. "You will forget, you ever saw me." His eyes pupils dileted as then he flashed away from her.
Marley blinked, she didn't forget as she muttered to herself. "Bloody hell, that's one of those vampires."
When Marley arrived by her fathers, she was nearly knocked down by a fire messages. "Great, thanks. Is that how you meet you daughter?" She asked sarcastically.
"Oh, munchkin, I'm sorry." Magnus apologised.
"Is okay, dad." Marley smiled at him. "Still busy?"
"Yes, very." Magnus replied to her.
"Well, I will sit over there and leave you to it." Marley pointed at the couch.
"Okay, munchkin." Magnus nodded and went back to work.
Later, there's a knock on the door. Magnus was busy writing fire messages so he snapped his fingers and the door opened, he crossed a name of a list and send out another fire message, almost hitting Catarina who has just came in with it. "Oh, Catarina!" Magnus turned to look at her. "Apologies. I'm just sending out my instructions for the synthesis spell. I'm halfway through my Rolodex."
"Way to go, dad." Marley comment.
"Magnus…" Catarina began with an sad look on her face.
Magnus looked at Catarina. "Oh, I know that face. What is it?"
"Lorenzo forbade the warlocks from participating in your spell." Catarina replied to him. "And he asked the High Council to do the same."
Magnus frowned. "Why?"
"He didn't say. He just threatened to send anyone who disobeys to the dungeons of the Spiral Labyrinth." She replied to him.
"Bizarre." Marley comment.
Magnus slammed his fist on the desk. Then he looked back at Catarina. "At least I can count on you."
"Normally, I would risk prison for you." Catarina told him. "It wouldn't be the first time. But I can't bear the thought of leaving Madzie alone. I'm so sorry."
"Don't be." Magnus understood her. "Sweet Pea needs you. This is Lorenzo's fault."
Then, Catarina had an idea. "We both know if the warlocks can't give you the power that you need, there's someone else who can."
Magnus shook with his head. "No. No! His help always comes at a price. I'm not that desperate."
"Who?" Marley asked confused.
She was being ignored as Catarina asked. "So what are you going to do?"
"I'm going to talk some sense into the High Warlock of Brooklyn." Magnus replied to her.
Later, Magnus was standing on the balcony, leaning on the railing, overlooking the city as then Alec and Marley walked out onto the balcony, too and leaned on the railing beside Magnus. "You okay?" Marley asked to her father.
"It's been a day." Magnus replied to her.
"Yeah." Alec spoke up. "We have no leads on Lilith or Jace, no word on Clary. Is something burning?"
Magnus felt his hair. "It's me. Things got a little bit heated during my talk with Lorenzo. I'm afraid the warlocks are not an option."
"So that's it." Alec sighed. "Jace is trapped in his own personal hell, and I can't get him out. He asked me to kill him, and I was too selfish to listen."
Marley put her hand on Alec's. "Oh, Alec, stop."
Alec turned to Malrey and looked determined. "I have to kill Jace. And I'll be damned if I let anybody else do it." Then, he went back inside.
"There's still a way for me to obtain enough power to cure him." Magnus comment after him.
Alec walked back. "What? What is it?"
"My father." Magnus replied to him.
"My grandfather, lovely." Marley comment bitterly.
"Asmodeus." Alec stated.
"Yes." Marley sighed as then she looked at her father. "I want to come with."
"Okay, munchkin, but know that it can be dangerous." Magnus told her, seriously.
"And I need to safe my brother in law." Marley comment, then added. "Basically." She looked at them both. "I will do anything for those who are my family and you know it."
The men were quiet, knowing she was right.
