Welcome back to Injustice Dragons Among Us 2. Last time, Spyro, Cynder, and Hal Jordan went to Atlantis, hoping to recruit Aquaman for his help. After working with him to defend Atlantis as Brainiac started to invade. After Aquaman regains his trust in surface dwellers to a degree, and Hal Jordan certainly becomes Green Lantern again, Aquaman himself stuck around in Atlantis, but the aid of his Marines is unclear. So what's going to happen next? Read on to discover...
(Our scene begins in the skyline over Metropolis, where Brainiac has apparently begun his master plan, as strange tripod-squid like ships descend from the sky, followed shortly by Brainiac's Skull Ship, which Supergirl notices from a distance, and realizing what this means, returns to the heroes' headquarters, where we see Spyro, Cynder, and Green Lantern have returned and are discussing exactly what she just saw, with Flash just rushing in)
Flash: Just finished circling the globe, looks like Brainiac's moved into phase 2. There are larger ships descending upon major cities around the globe.
Supergirl: Then you can add Metropolis to that list.
Green Lantern: Even with Aquaman's Marines, we're still outnumbered by probably a thousand to one. (To Batman and Lex Luthor) So what's the plan? You do have one, right?
Batman: Our top priority is to evacuate the targeted cities before we even try to take on Brainiac.
Lex Luthor: Even then, we're going to need firepower.
Spyro: Sounds like we need to call up the heavy hitters on the Luthor-Wayne payroll.
Lex Luthor: Aside from Supergirl, that'd be Blue Beetle and Firestorm. But I've got them acting as defense between Brainiac and Superman.
Flash: Even if Brainiac doesn't try to break Superman out, how can you be so sure that Black Adam and Wonder Woman won't? The tougher things get, the more the world is going to insist we let him out to try and help!
(Upon hearing that, Batman just scowls at Flash)
Flash: I'm just saying.
Batman: The two are green, that's for certain. But together, they're the most powerful team we have.
Lex Luthor: Well, so far they've taken well to handling the most wanted man in the galaxy.
Cynder: Then perhaps its time we take a look at what the new kids can do.
Lex Luthor: I'll let them know you're coming.
(With that plan made, we transition to Stryker's Island, where Superman is being held, pacing in his cell, watched over by Blue Beetle, Jason Rusch, and Professor Stein, the latter two being the two halves of Firestorm, where the group appears to be in the middle of a discussion as Robin and Cyborg watch on from adjacent cells as Spyro and Cynder sneak in)
Jason Rusch: Come on you guys, admit it, we're redundant in this place, just guards guarding guards during an alien invasion!
Blue Beetle: If I'm being honest, I'd rather be in here than out there. This suit's an alien war machine. Brainiac might be able to wrestle what little control I have away from me! Plus there's also the risk that your Firestorm Matrix could accidentally blow up the world.
Professor Stein: Jaime's right. We've still not yet mastered our powers.
Jason Rusch: Take a moment and listen to yourselves! We're bad-asses! And the bad-asses belong on the frontlines!
(At this point, Spyro and Cynder step in)
Spyro: Trust me kid, I thought the same thing when I was younger. But if it helps you any, there are many frontlines in a war, and this is one of them. Brainiac alone is a crisis, Brainiac and Superman? That's an apocalypse waiting to happen.
Professor Stein: Took the words right out of my mouth.
Jason Rusch: Now that I can get behind.
Blue Beetle: Way to put extra pressure on us.
Cynder: Consider it proper motivation.
Professor Stein: I must say it's an honor to finally meet you two.
Blue Beetle: Same goes for all of us.
Spyro: Trust us, we're here for you guys.
Jason Rusch: So you want a demonstration of what the new kids can do? (To Professor Stein) Well then, let's give them what they want Professor.
Professor Stein: I wouldn't advise that. This place is already pretty fragile.
(And just like that, something rocks the prison, someone has arrived)
Blue Beetle: Brainiac?
Jason Rusch: Or Superman's fan club.
Professor Stein: Forget what I said earlier, it's definitely time to fuse.
(And that's just what they do. With one meeting of hands, Jason Rusch and Professor Stein fuse into Firestorm)
Firestorm: Game on!
(With Firestorm fused, we transition to the source of the damage, a large hole blown into the wall by Black Adam and Wonder Woman, who soon afterwards fly in)
Wonder Woman: You handle the generators, I'll find our allies.
(As the two Regime supporters get to work, we transition back to Superman's cell, which Blue Beetle is scanning for any sort of weaknesses)
Blue Beetle: The cell itself is intact, that blast must've come from the power center.
Firestorm: If whatever caused that takes out the generators, the red sun lamps are done for and Superman flies right out of here!
Spyro: I can restart the generators if they fail. Firestorm, you're with me. Beetle, Cynder, we'll need you two up here just in case someone comes for Superman directly.
(With that, Firestorm and Spyro head off for the power center while Blue Beetle and Cynder stand guard, but just as they're out of sight, Cynder is ambushed from behind by Wonder Woman, but Cynder is able to throw her off pretty quickly)
Cynder: Well, well, the disgraced FORMER Queen of the Amazons. Surprised you have the guts to fight me again.
Wonder Woman: This time, I'm not fighting alone.
(With that, Wonder Woman throws her sword into a control panel, overriding the door controls to the adjacent cells, releasing Cyborg and Robin, to the latter of which she throws a bag, containing his gear.)
Wonder Woman: Go handle the power center. Victor and I have this covered.
(As Robin runs off, grabbing his gear along the way, Cynder and Blue Beetle stand ready for battle, though Blue Beetle is kind of nervous)
Cynder: Bring it on, Not-So-Wonder Woman.
(But as this battle begins, we transition to the power center, where Black Adam has indeed shut down the generator, but just as he does, Spyro hits him with a bolt of lightning that starts the generator back up a bit)
Firestorm: So what's the plan here?
Spyro: I'll be honest, I thought you had one.
Black Adam: It was a feeble idea to challenge me. Now you both shall die here.
Spyro: Pretty presumptuous, considering I beat you last time I was here.
(Enraged, Black Adam tries to throw a lightning bolt at Spyro, but it's blocked by Firestorm)
Black Adam: What kind of magic is this?!
Firestorm: Science. Just a basic impedence field.
Black Adam: Do not condescend to me, chimera. You may have two minds, but I have the wisdom of gods!
(Now the battle begins, Firestorm may be inexperienced, but he still can hold his own in a fight, and with Spyro's aid, the two have Black Adam down almost instantly)
Spyro: Then you should've been wise enough to leave this battle.
Firestorm: Think it's about time we circled back to check on Superman's cell.
?: You're going nowhere.
(And just like that, Robin drops down from the ceiling, clad in the Nightwing uniform he never deserved)
Firestorm: Damian Wayne? But how!? You were locked up when we left.
Spyro: Unless Black Adam was a distraction. Wonder Woman's probably up there right now!
Robin: And if you want to get to her, you'll have to go through me.
Spyro: Gladly, Bat-Brat. Just don't blame me for the hole in your chest when we're done.
(And now Spyro and Robin go at it. Clearly, Spyro still hates this kid's guts and before long he has him on the mat)
Spyro: You will never be Nightwing. (To Firestorm) Come on, we need to get back up there, pronto! They've probably already got Superman out!
(And as Firestorm and Superman rush back upstairs, our tale ends for today)
And that looks like a good spot to wrap up for now. Yes, I know I'm splitting the chapter in pieces again. But just like Chapter 3, Chapter 6 is so dense, I needed to split it in order to get it done well. I swear I'm not trying to milk this story for longer than it's worth. So with that out of the way, it looks like things are going bad here already. So does Wonder Woman already have Superman released? Tune in next time to find out! Same time... same channel!
