Welcome back to Injustice Dragons Among Us 2. Last time, Spyro and Cynder teamed up with Blue Beetle and Firestorm to keep guard over Superman as they knew Wonder Woman and Black Adam were on their way to get him. Black Adam did come in and attack the power center for Superman's cell, and while Spyro and Firestorm stopped him, Wonder Woman released Cyborg and Robin, the latter of whom ended up fighting Spyro and Firestorm. So, what are Cynder and Blue Beetle up to? Read on to discover...

(Our story resumes back up in Superman's cell, where Cyborg is trying to hack the control panel, while Cynder and Blue Beetle fight Wonder Woman. Cynder knows Blue Beetle has the tech edge necessary to beat Cyborg, so just as Wonder Woman is about to slash his head with a sword, she blocks with her tail blade)

Cynder: Go stop Cyborg, I'll handle Diana!

(Knowing exactly what he needs to do, Blue Beetle flies off towards Cyborg)

Cyborg: Got to hand it to the late Dr. Palmer and his team, this encryption is top notch.

Superman: You still shouldn't be cracking it.

Cyborg: Don't go getting cold fee when the world's at risk, Superman. You should see the crowds out there. The world needs the Regime now more than ever.

Superman: Even then, we went too far. I've realized that. (Seeing Blue Beetle) Cyborg, look out!

(Cyborg gets Superman's warning and just manages to dodge Blue Beetle, before hitting him with his sonic cannon, just as Wonder Woman throws Cynder into a wall. But just as Cyborg gets ready to blast her head off, a stream of fire hits him in the face, showing Spyro and Firestorm in the room.)

Spyro: (Angrily) You. Will Not. Harm Her.

Cyborg: Great. You again.

Wonder Woman: Leave them to me.

(Wonder Woman is about to charge in, but that's when Blue Beetle gets back up and fires a blast at the Regime second in command, knocking her to the ground)

Blue Beetle: So much for dealing with us.

(With Wonder Woman out of the way, Firestorm tries to hit Cyborg with his transmutation powers, but Cyborg deflects and knocks Firestorm out just as his hacking finishes it's work, deactivating the Red Sun Lamps)

Spyro: The Red Sun Lamps!

Blue Beetle: We've got to get that console back up and running before Superman powers up.

Cyborg: Good luck getting through me to do it, rookies.

(Unseen by Cyborg, Cynder has gotten back up and has now leaped onto his neck, looking directly at Spyro)

Cynder: Get the control panel, Beetle and I will handle him!

(Seeing his opportunity, Spyro charges past the distracted Cyborg and starts trying to figure out the control panel, leaving Cynder and Blue Beetle to handle Cyborg, as Firestorm is still regaining consciousness.)

Blue Beetle: I've heard from Firestorm that you used to be pretty good at football.

Cyborg: My QB days are long over, as is my time as your prisoner.

Cynder: (Getting back up) Don't be so sure.

(Now the battle begins. Cynder has the acrobatics and agility over Cyborg, and Blue Beetle has the tech advantage, and these advantages are shown clearly in having Cyborg pinned to the metaphorical mat in record time)

Cynder: Don't go expecting cheers now.

(Meanwhile, we see Spyro continuing to figure out the control panel, and actually managing to get the Red Sun Lamps active again, just as Firestorm regains consciousness)

Blue Beetle: I had no idea you knew how to work this thing.

Spyro: I don't. I just guessed.

(Now at last, Superman, who has been pretty silent throughout this whole endeavor decides to speak up.)

Superman: Luthor and Batman have to know Brainiac is too much for them. They know I'm the only hope this planet has.

Firestorm: You know what? I'm sick of this. Luthor and Batman asked us for help. There was no loyalty oath, no conscription, none of that. You however, did all of that.

Superman: Even though what you're saying is true, they still won't go far enough when it counts. I did, and saved potentially millions from Joker's schemes.

Cynder: Don't forget, even you realized you went too far.

Superman: (Looking to Spyro) I haven't forgotten what you said back then.

Spyro: I'd hope not.

(But just as Spyro is about to say something to Superman, he's grabbed from behind by Wonder Woman's lasso and thrown into a wall. As Firestorm tries to run up and help him out, she knocks the weary superhero out in one punch, leaving just Blue Beetle and Cynder to fight her.)

Wonder Woman: Even now this world cries out for Kal's leadership. He's the only one who knows what Brainiac is capable of.

Cynder: One: I'm pretty sure Supergirl would know too.

Blue Beetle: And two: you may be right, but we know what Superman is capable of. That's not a mix we need.

(This clearly ticks Wonder Woman off, as now the battle begins between the two. Cynder and Wonder Woman themselves are pretty evenly matched, as their prior duel on Themyscira proves. But with Blue Beetle by her side, Cynder has the Amazon pinned down pretty quickly)

Cynder: Make yourself comfortable here, Diana. There's a cell with your name on it just waiting for you.

(As this ends, Firestorm and Spyro finally get back in the game. But unfortunately for them, so have Black Adam, Robin, and Cyborg, now backing up Wonder Woman)

Wonder Woman: You fought valiantly. But this ends here.

(Now it looks like the battle is about to begin: four on four, but Firestorm appears distracted, hearing something from within)

Firestorm: You want me to do what?! Professor, that's insane! We might be able to control it, but... (Looks at the odds) You're right. There's no other option. (To Spyro, Cynder, and Blue Beetle) Guys, get out of here.

(With that, Firestorm slams his hands together and summons all his nuclear power. But only Blue Beetle seems to recognize what's going on here)

Blue Beetle: Jesuchristo, Jason! You're going to nuke us?!

Firestorm: It's the only way to end this! Get out of here! (To the Regime) You might want to leave, unless you want to get the worst sunburn you've ever experienced.

Wonder Woman: You'd rather destroy Metropolis with another nuclear explosion than let Superman go?!

Firestorm: I'd save the Earth...

(With that, Wonder Woman rushes to behead him, but that's when something blasts the sword out of her hands, followed by a bat-shaped shuriken for good measure)

Lex Luthor: Firestorm, stand down!

(At this point, Lex Luthor, Batman, and Supergirl appear from the rafters of the prison. But Firestorm can't seem to stop his power flow. Spyro, seeing what he needs to do, casts a beam of Aether towards the young hero, somehow absorbing the power from him)

Firestorm: (Baffled) How did you do that?

Spyro: I... have no idea.

(But just as Firestorm powers down, Lex Luthor and Batman appear armed for battle against Wonder Woman)

Lex Luthor: This ends here.

Wonder Woman: You can't beat Brainiac, Lex. Neither can you, Bruce.

Lex Luthor: Letting Superman loose is still too big a risk.

(At this point, Spyro, Cynder, and Supergirl are just tired of all of this, and break away from the crowd, heading towards the controls for Superman's cell, with Supergirl punching in the unlock code.)

Batman: (Seeing this) What are you doing?!

Supergirl: What we should have done from the start.

(With her handprint authorization added in, Superman's cell is unlocked, and in an instant he starts regaining his powers)

Lex Luthor: Are you sure about this?

Cynder: As much as any of us hate to admit it, Diana's right. There isn't a single faction that can beat Brainiac alone.

Batman: And this helps how?

Spyro: Notice, we said there isn't a single faction that could do it.

Supergirl: It's become clear to me that our two factions need to come together if we're going to have any chance of stopping Earth from sharing Krypton's fate.

(With this proclamation made, Superman steps up to Batman and Lex Luthor, who strangely make no objections to the logic)

Superman: So, are you two ready to stop Brainiac by any means necessary?

Lex Luthor: We're only using the means at hand, old friend.

(Now Superman and Batman have their stare down, each seemingly daring the other to speak)

Batman: Once this is over, you're going back in that cell.

Superman: Only if you get back in yours.

Cynder: We'll cross that bridge when we get there. Right now, let's just focus on saving the world.

(With that, Superman, Batman, and Lex Luthor shake hands as if agreeing to this temporary truce. And on that note, our tale ends for now)

And that looks like a good spot to wrap up for now. So, looks like there's a lot going on now. Superman is finally in the fight. But the alliance is... shaky at best. But will the dragons be able to hold everything together? Well, we'll see. For now though, there's a bigger threat, and the personal issues will have to wait. And to see how this alliance gets on the move, tune in to the next chapter! Same time... same channel!
