This is the Finale of the Thanksgiving Special. Last time, after finishing up in the generator room, our heroes tried to stop the release of Superman by the rest of the Regime. And though they were almost successful in stopping the Regime from doing it, once Lex Luthor and Batman arrived, the old debates were sparked again. Spyro, Cynder, and Supergirl, realizing there's nothing else they can do, chose to release Superman themselves, forcing the factions to work together in order to save the world from Brainiac. So, how's that going to go? Read on to discover...

(Our story resumes aboard Brainiac's ship, where the Coluan is meeting with Gorilla Grodd regarding the invasion)

Grodd: You summoned me, Brainiac?

Brainiac: Indeed. There has been a surprising development. Kal-El is free, this much is certain. But my scanning equipment has picked up a second survivor of Krypton on Earth. My oversight continues to grow, and now must be swiftly corrected.

Grodd: Another Kryptonian? But how?

Brainiac: Continue as previously planned. Kal-El is not yet at full strength. But remember in your endeavors, BOTH Kryptonians belong to me.

(Gorilla Grodd is clearly not happy with this arrangement, but allows it anyways, as we transition to a meeting table in the temporary headquarters of our heroes, where Regime, Insurgency, and neutral party alike are seated, save two important figures. The tension is palpable, as this is the first time many of them have been in the same room in many a long year. But as things begin, Catwoman pulls out a map of the world)

Catwoman: Thanks to recon from Flash, we've now accurate locations for every ship in Brainiac's fleet. They've selected a series of cities on each of the continents.

(As Catwoman continues her part of the meeting, Batman draws Firestorm aside for a moment, and the two start talking, but out of earshot of even Spyro and Cynder, who are seemingly the only ones to notice)

Spyro: What's Batman want with Firestorm?

Cynder: Probably chewing them out for nearly nuking us back there.

Spyro: Shouldn't Lex be doing that then?

Cynder: He's focused on the mission. Maybe Bruce agreed to do it for him?

Spyro: I don't trust this for one second.

Cynder: (Looking back at Batman and Firestorm) To be honest, neither do I.

(At this point, Batman and Firestorm return to the table as Catwoman finishes up.)

Catwoman: We need to evacuate the targeted cities before we even try attacking the fleet. But in order to do that, we need to get our comm lines back up, which means reclaiming Brother Eye.

Lex Luthor: Cyborg, that sounds like your area of expertise.

Cyborg: What do you think I am? Insurgency tech support?

?: That's not the point, Victor.

(And just like that, Superman and Supergirl walk in, the former kitted out in a brand new suit)

Superman: Kara saw firsthand what Brainiac did to Krypton.

Supergirl: Assuming he hasn't updated his fleet since then, we've got 48 hours before the same happens to Earth. Probably even less time, actually.

Lex Luthor: Agreed. Without tight coordination, we're going to lose this fight.

Batman: And that means, we need to get Brother Eye back above all else.

Spyro: (Sensing Cyborg is still hesitant) I'll be there too, keeping an eye on things.

Batman: Catwoman and Harley will be joining you as well. They know the tricks of the Batcave.

Cyborg: Screw that shit. Just give me the coordinates, I'll boom tube in.

Lex Luthor: Good luck with that. I've seen what Bruce did down there. He reverse engineered your Mother Box technology.

Harley Quinn: Essentially, try teleporting in there and you'll end up a stain on the gangplank.

Cyborg: So then how do we get in?

Catwoman: The old Gotham City Underground. There's an entrance under Arkham.

Cyborg: So now I'm bringing the three of you to Arkham? Seems fitting.

Superman: Meanwhile, I'll need a bit of time at the Solarium in the Fortress of Solitude to power up. Assuming it still exists that is.

Lex Luthor: I've been trying to reverse engineer that thing for years now.

Superman: Damian and Adam will be with me.

Wonder Woman: And what about the rest of us? You expect us to sit here and wait?

Lex Luthor: Until Brother Eye is back online, we plan the attack. Once we have control, we strike.

Batman: And remember, out there, there's no Regime anymore. So we Do. Not. Kill.

Cynder: Now that we've got that worked out, let's get to work.

(With that, most of the DC characters leave the room to work on the plan, leaving Spyro, Cynder, Batman, Lex Luthor, and Superman behind, as the Caped Crusader and the Man of Steel recognize something about the table, turning to Lex Luthor)

Superman: Why'd you keep it?

Lex Luthor: Keep what?

Superman: (Pulling off the sheet to reveal it's the old Justice League conference table) This.

Lex Luthor: Don't look at me, this is Bruce's warehouse.

Batman: (Sarcastically) Hmm. Forgot that was there.

(As Batman walks off, Spyro turns to Superman, looking at the cracked Justice League insignia with shame)

Spyro: He didn't forget. Something tells me he always hoped the League could get back together.

Cynder: And under your cousin, it just might.

Superman: (With a slight smile) I can only hope so.

Lex Luthor: We'd best get moving. (To Spyro) You've got an infiltration to get working on.

(And with that, the four of them leave to initiate their plan, ending our tale for today)

This concludes the Thanksgiving Special. Once again, a huge thank you to all the people who read my stuff week after week, it's a bright spot in my life, and one I've needed this past year more than ever. So, looks like Spyro's going into the Batcave. What awaits them on the inside? Tune in next time to find out! Same time... same channel!
