Welcome back to Injustice Dragons Among Us 2. Last time, Spyro, Catwoman, Cyborg, and Harley Quinn infiltrated the Society controlled Batcave and managed to somehow regain control of Brother Eye, giving their alliance full access to their satellite networks again, clearing the way to rescue civilians from targeted cities before going after Brainiac's fleet. So, how's this going to go? Read on to discover...
(Our scene opens in Metropolis, where Cynder, Supergirl, and Wonder Woman enter the scene, staring down the front of Brainiac's ship.)
Cynder: Alright Kara, what's our first move.
Supergirl: We don't have much time, so we need to...
Wonder Woman: (Thinking about it) This strategy is all wrong. Delaying the offensive is pointless. It's less than an hour until Brainiac sends us all to Hades, and the time we waste saving some lives dooms billions more!
Cynder: Diana. You were warned to tread carefully. We are not bringing the Regime methodology back.
Supergirl: This isn't the time to be bickering. Look at these people, they're afraid. Just like I was when this happened to Krypton, before having these powers. Now I look at what we can do, and I say we can give them hope. Something they haven't felt in years.
Cynder: Agreed. Let's do this.
(As they all somewhat silently agree on this, we focus on the crowd, being herded by Brainiac's robots, but not before Wonder Woman jumps in and drags a robot into the air, followed by Cynder and Supergirl. Knowing how to get the army's attention, Wonder Woman crushes the robot's head, causing the rest of them to fire some sort of laser vision on them, but despite it, Cynder, Wonder Woman, and Supergirl enter the scene and start wrecking shop, particularly Wonder Woman and Cynder with some amazing display of Amazonian fury, just as Supergirl joins in, only to see the civilians fleeing them)
Cynder: (Knowing exactly what's happening, then to Supergirl) Still a bit of work to do on putting the hope back in that symbol.
Supergirl: I know it's a slow process, but...
(But before Supergirl can finish her thought, she's blasted away by a bolt from a giant plasma rifle, carried by Cheetah.)
Wonder Woman: Minerva.
Cheetah: (Now thrilled at the prospect of this hunt) Welcome back, Diana.
(Wonder Woman recklessly tries to charge Cheetah, but one shot from the plasma rifle she's carrying throws Wonder Woman back into the Ace O' Clubs bar, with Cynder following shortly behind, flying of her own accord that is, just in time to see the owner pull a shotgun on her, only to turn towards the door, just as it breaks open, revealing Reverse Flash, running around and punching both Wonder Woman and Cynder several times before stopping)
Reverse Flash: Well, well, well. If it isn't the former Amazon queen.
Wonder Woman: Thawne. I always wondered why we let you survive.
Reverse Flash: You could never catch me, that's why. (Seeing Cynder) You know, you two are honestly perfect for one another. Two of the greatest killers in the multiverse.
Cynder: You know nothing about me.
Reverse Flash: I'm in every timeline, even yours Cynder. (Dashing across the stage) I see you had Snart on your side the whole time. I wonder what he's going to say when he learns your little friend here is the one who killed his sister. Quite personally may I add. I wonder how long it'll take for him to freeze you solid and shatter you both.
(And with that, the battle begins. Reverse Flash may have the speed advantage, but the teamwork of Cynder and Wonder Woman has the speedster out in the blink of an eye)
Wonder Woman: Hopefully we can avoid your timeline.
(At this point, an unexpected figure flies in through the hole in the wall created when Wonder Woman flew through the wall)
Superman: Diana! Cynder! Thank Rao you're both okay.
Cynder: Clark? What're you doing here? I thought you, Lex, and Bats were headed up north.
Wonder Woman: We need to find Kara.
Superman: We will.
Wonder Woman: Clark, we don't have time...
Superman: I've missed you.
Wonder Woman: (Seeing an opportunity) We can beat them all, Kal. Brainiac, Batman, Luthor, all of them will fall. Then we can re-establish the Regime, rule as equals!
Superman: I'm... not so sure about that.
Wonder Woman: Kal, don't be turning on me now. Look at what we were able to accomplish with the Regime.
(Cynder knows where this is going and grabs Diana by the hair, throwing her back against the wall)
Cynder: You can't be serious right now! You know damn well you manipulated his grief for your own benefit! Turned Superman into something he was never meant to be!
Wonder Woman: That's not true! My love made Kal stronger.
(With that, Wonder Woman stabs Cynder through the abdomen)
Wonder Woman: Kal told me that much himself.
(Without a second thought, Cynder looks back to Superman, who just shrugs)
Superman: She has a point.
(As the sword penetrates her abdomen, and she hears these words from Superman, Cynder realizes exactly what's going on here, and wakes up, surrounded by Scarecrow's Fear Toxin, with Wonder Woman unconscious near him)
Scarecrow: Interesting reaction. You believe that Wonder Woman has manipulated Superman in the past, and you're afraid he'll slip back into her clutches if you're not careful. I wonder why that is. Is it perhaps because you see so many similarities between himself and your beloved? Oh yes, I've seen into his mind too. He's terrified of becoming what Superman did. And your greatest fear then must be that you'll let him slide into that.
(Now just royally pissed off, Cynder charges Scarecrow, knocking him to the ground)
Cynder: To hell with your mind games, Scarecrow.
Scarecrow: Classic anger transference. We must continue your therapy.
(Now Cynder does battle with Scarecrow, and very fittingly knocks him to the ground with her own Fear element)
Cynder: You're no longer licensed, Scarecrow.
(Cynder is about to deliver a knockout blow to Scarecrow, but Wonder Woman gets up and slashes his wrist with her sword, causing him to start bleeding. Cynder stops Wonder Woman from killing him, then grabs a chunk of his mask to bandage the wound)
Cynder: (To Wonder Woman) What part about we don't kill didn't you understand? Now come on. We've got to find Kara.
(And find her they do, once they leave the Ace O' Clubs, finding Supergirl at the nearby metro station, with Cheetah confronting her)
Cheetah: The Girl of Steel. You are a very rare find indeed. I can see why Brainiac wants you, be it dead or alive. (As she lays a scratch on Supergirl's cheek) Kryptonians are vulnerable to magic. (Extends her claws fully) And guess what these claws are.
(As Cheetah digs her claws into Supergirl's side, Cynder and Wonder Woman arrive, knocking Cheetah across the station. But the huntress is not down for long, as she gets back up pretty quickly, snapping her shoulder back into place.)
Wonder Woman: I'm surprised someone as feral as you still follows Brainiac's orders, Minerva.
Cheetah: That's where you're mistaken, Princess. I only joined Grodd to lure out my true quarry. You.
Wonder Woman: A fool's errand, just like what ended up cursing you to begin with.
Cheetah: You call it a curse, I call it a gift. I'm stronger, faster, and thirsty, so thirsty. For Amazon Blood. (Seeing Cynder) Or dragon blood, I'm honestly not picky.
(Clearly Cynder does not want to get dragged into this fight, but still does to prevent Wonder Woman from killing Cheetah, and the battle plays out with Cynder and Wonder Woman coming out on top.)
Wonder Woman: You want blood? Your curse can never be undone, this is all the peace you deserve.
(With that, Wonder Woman picks up Cheetah and is about to cut off her head, but Cynder quickly disarms her using her tail blade, before Wonder Woman gets shot in the arm, revealing Harley Quinn has arrived)
Harley Quinn: That's far enough, Wonder Bread.
(Now there's clearly about to be another face off, only now Cynder and Wonder Woman are on opposite sides.)
Cynder: You heard Lex and Bruce. There will be no killing.
Wonder Woman: You both lecture me? How much blood is in your ledgers?!
Harley Quinn: Undoubtedly buckets. I was trying too hard to impress the wrong guy. Just like you with Superman. Or was it Superman trying to hard to impress you?
(This statement drives Wonder Woman over the edge, as she tosses Cheetah aside and charges straight at Harley Quinn and Cynder, despite the gunshots from Harley and Cynder leaping straight into her path, Wonder Woman manages to throw Cynder aside and stabs Harley Quinn through the abdomen, right in front of Supergirl, who retaliates by slamming Wonder Woman halfway across town before rushing to Harley's aid.)
Supergirl: This is going to hurt, a lot.
Harley Quinn: (Weakly) I've been through worse.
(With that, Supergirl uses her heat vision to suture Harley Quinn's wound, just as the disgraced Amazon returns)
Wonder Woman: You will regret that, Kara. That clown deserves to die.
(Supergirl is about to confront Wonder Woman, but Cynder stops her, getting in on the game herself)
Cynder: I should've known you couldn't be trusted to not kill. We're supposed to be saving this world from the bigger threat, not squabbling amongst each other. It's official to me now, you've lost all sense of Amazon honor.
(Now things are really going down, Cynder vs Wonder Woman Round 2. And just like last time, Wonder Woman stands no chance, as Cynder's raw fury has her on the mat in quicker time than last time)
Cynder: And this time, stay down.
(With that, Cynder rejoins Supergirl and Harley Quinn, the former of which has started to fly away)
Cynder: So what's the plan?
Supergirl: Lex or Kal should be able to help. It doesn't matter which really. (To Harley Quinn) You're going to be fine, I assure of that.
Harley Quinn: (Weakly) You think Superman'll be able to help? You're real funny, blondie...
(As Harley grows weaker, the scene ends)
And that looks like a good place to wrap up for now. Yes, I did adapt part of Chapter 9 as well as Chapter 8, but I believe that shot of Supergirl flying away with the injured Harley Quinn was a better ending point. And one thing I will say, unlike the game, we will make Harley Quinn's fate clear. So does she live or does she die? Tune in next time to find out! Same time... same channel!
