Welcome back to Injustice Dragons Among Us 2. Last time, Cynder, Aquaman, and Black Adam began their adventure in Kahndaq, only to be attacked by a mind controlled Black Canary and Green Arrow. After freeing their allies from evil's control, the trio, joined randomly by Blue Beetle, enter the portal to the Rock of Eternity. So what awaits them on the other side? Read on to discover...

(Our story resumes in a dark, stone , adorned with monstrous figures at almost every crevice, the room echoing the footsteps of our quartet of heroes as they enter)

Cynder: Got to admit, I wasn't expecting the source of old Shazam's powers to be so... creepy.

Black Adam: Ever since the Batson boy died, the Rock has been darkened. It will not be lit again until a new successor is found.

Cynder: If this place can reach our world, I've got a good contender.

(Before long, the group arrives upon a candlelit throne, the Wizard's throne.)

Aquaman: So how exactly does this work?

Black Adam: I will imbue your trident with a spark of the Rock's great power. When the full force is unleashed, it will seek your weapon out. Your thoughts will guide the Wizard's power to it's target.

Aquaman: Then I'm ready.

(With that, Black Adam sits in the Wizard's throne, only to realize something horrible)

Black Adam: The power is weaker than I anticipated. The Batson boy's death must have caused more damage than I thought.

Cynder: (Allowing Dark Aether to flow through her) What if I amplified it? I mean, I'm not as strong as Spyro with it, but I could channel what Aether I have to speed up the process.

Black Adam: Your strange energy could work. Even in it's weakened state. Very well.

(With that, Aquaman hands Black Adam the trident, and as he channels the lightning into it, Cynder hits it with a burst of Dark Aether, increasing the energy output tenfold. But before much can come of it, Blue Beetle shoots Black Adam in the chest with an energy bolt.)

Aquaman: Beetle?! What are you doing?!

Cynder: (Putting it all together) It's not Jaime who's doing this, It's Grodd!

(And just like that, Gorilla Grodd steps out of the shadows)

Grodd: Yet again the dragon is the smartest among you.

Black Adam: He was a sleeper agent, meant to lead you here!

Grodd: Despite the Scarab, the boy was easily manipulated. (To Blue Beetle) Now Jaime, destroy them!

Black Adam: The Scarab's gimmicks are no match for the Rock of Eternity!

Blue Beetle: (In Gorilla Grodd's voice, as he conjures many weapons) So many ways to kill you. So much power in the hands of a child. Once this is over I will kill this child and take the Scarab for myself!

Cynder: And like hell we're letting that happen!

(With that, while Aquaman fights Gorilla Grodd, Cynder and Black Adam let loose against the mind controlled Blue Beetle, with Cynder at least being careful to pull her punches so as not to hurt him severely, just enough to snap him out of this trance)

Cynder: Hope you don't wake up too bruised, Jaime.

(Now we focus on Aquaman charging Gorilla Grodd. The telepathic gorilla moves a statue with his mind in an attempt to back attack Aquaman, but Black Adam zaps it with his lightning as he and Cynder join the fray, staring down Gorilla Grodd)

Grodd: Look at us. Three kings of almost equal dignity.

Black Adam: You dare call yourself a king, Grodd?! You are nothing but a brute!

Aquaman: A true king serves his people.

Cynder: And last I checked, you only serve yourself.

Grodd: Very ironic, coming from the Purple Dragon's concubine. It doesn't matter though, since I will be the only one to leave this cave.

Cynder: Excuse me? Did you just call me a CONCUBINE?! (To Black Adam) Go charge up the Rock. We've got the monkey covered.

(Seeing Cynder is serious, Black Adam leaves to go gather power from the Rock of Eternity as Cynder and Aquaman stare down the enemy.)

Aquaman: You've taken my people from me, Grodd. In their name I will have justice!

(Now the battle truly begins. Cynder is still clearly pissed off from being called a concubine, and Aquaman is definitely not in a friendly mood with Gorilla Grodd either. And it shows, as the two have him on the mat in record time)

Cynder: Let's get one thing straight Grodd, I am NOBODY'S concubine.

Grodd: (Weakly, as Aquaman turns him on his back) You... fools...

(And with that, Aquaman stabs Gorilla Grodd in the side with his trident)

Aquaman: The people of Atlantis demand justice.

Cynder (Steadying the trident) Even then, this isn't the way to get it.

Grodd: And this is why you'll fail. Brainiac will go to any extreme to win. I've seen his mind. Felt his power, he can't be stopped.

Black Adam: But you can.

Cynder: Boys, we agreed. No killing.

Grodd: (Chuckling) Even now doing the bidding of your violet master. I bet Spyro would be proud of his most loyal of servants.

(Now Cynder's just plain pissed off at Gorilla Grodd, as evidenced by how she just digs her tail blade into his other side)

Cynder: I am slave to no one, Grodd.

(And just like that, Cynder removes her tail blade and plunges her claws into Gorilla Grodd's heart, but not enough to kill him)

Cynder: Spyro would've wanted you kept alive. But even I think he'd see that there's no good in letting you live.

(With that final moment, and a look of horror on Gorilla Grodd's face, Cynder plunges her claws just far enough into his heart to kill the ape, before ripping them out and, in a disturbing moment, licking the blood off her claws, before recoiling in disgust)

Cynder: Just as disgusting as his personality. (Looking back at Black Adam and Aquaman) What?

Black Adam: That was... absolutely ruthless.

Aquaman: Almost something the Regime would have done.

Cynder: Just getting some personal grievances out. Now then, let's get moving on that magic lightning. I'll follow it out to make sure it reaches the target.

Black Adam: Agreed.

(And as the group springs into action, our tale ends for today)

And that looks like a good spot to wrap up for now. Yes I know this was rather short, but it's 1am as I'm writing this, and the rest of the chapter is just distinct enough for me to make it it's own thing going forward. So there'll be another part before we move on to Chapter 11. Now, fair warning, the poll for the ending order is only going to be up until the end of my Chapter 11 content, so it'll go down sometime in January, on the day the first ending goes live to be exact. So make sure to cast your votes now. There's not much time left. So, is this magic scheme going to work? Tune in next time to find out! Same time... same channel!
