A/N: I don't own Power Rangers. Saban owns the Power Rangers in this series. I will make changes to the monster fights in the later chapters. Some of those chapters may be more focused on the Power Rangers learning to work as a team. And I will include Katherine and Tanya. The new rangers will consist of are Rocky, Adam, Aisha (those three are going to stay), Katherine, Tanya, the Phantom Ranger, Andros, and Zhane. I haven't decided yet what to do with TJ, Justin, Cassie, Ashley, and Carlos.

The Stone Canyon Triathlon took place the weekend after the Peace Summit. Tommy and Billy arrived at the Triathlon, and they saw their classmates from Angel Grove High mixed in with the teens from Stone Canyon High.

Tommy said, "The Stone Canyon kids look ready for the triathlon. They look like they're ready to give us a run for our money."

Billy said, "If we didn't have our powers, I would be concerned about Jason, Zack, and Trini. Where are they, anyway?"

Tommy said, "Kim said that the three of them are scuba diving."

Billy blinked, and he asked, "Scuba diving? Really?"

Tommy said, "Zack had tried to talk to Angela yesterday, and she hurt his heart again. She told him she wants to date a Power Ranger and that a Power Ranger is more of a man than Zack could ever be."

Billy winced, and he said, "Ouch, that had to hurt. How is Zack?"

Tommy said, "He's angry about it. He almost morphed right in front of Angela to show that she had dated a Power Ranger."

Billy's eyes grew wide, and he asked, "He didn't morph, did he?"

Tommy said, "Thankfully, he didn't. One, he would have blown his identity. Two, Angela would have likely commented on him being the weakest Power Ranger."

Billy said, "That's a relief. He didn't morph."

Tommy nodded, and he said, "It is. Good thing Jason saw him about to morph, too. Jason and Trini are scuba diving with Zack to help him get his mind off of Angela."

Tommy and Billy saw Rocky, Adam, and Aisha preparing for the triathlon, and the two Rangers ran up to join them.

Aisha said, "Hi Billy! I'm surprised you're talking to us. Aren't you going to talk to your friends on the Angel Grove High team?"

Rocky joked, "They could use a pep talk before we crush them!"

Aisha said, "Rocky, this triathlon is for the World Teen Peace Conference. It isn't a competition!"

Rocky said, "I'm just having a little fun."

Aisha said, "Just don't get carried away."

Tommy said, "Those three aren't here, anyway. They're scuba diving."

Adam asked, "They're scuba diving today?"

Billy said, "Affirmative. Long story short, Zack is angry and hurt over a breakup, and Jason and Trini are helping him keep his mind off of it."

Aisha asked, "Does he usually go scuba diving to get his mind off of things?"

Billy said, "Not really. He usually listens to hip hop instead. If I had to guess, hip hop reminds him of Angela, and that wouldn't help him right now."

Tommy added, "Kim told me that scuba diving was Jason's idea."

Aisha said, "Breakups are hard. As far as coping strategies go, scuba diving isn't so bad. There are worse ones."

Billy said, "That's an affirmative. I wish you three good luck in the triathlon. Tommy, Kimberly, and I will watch from the other side of the lake."

Tommy added, "That's the same lake Jason, Zack, and Trini are scuba diving in too. Maybe they will come out and see you."

Aisha said, "If they do, Zack better be calm."

Rocky said, "He will be fine. Don't worry."

Aisha said, "Rocky, you do not know how angry boys can get over a breakup."

Kimberly walked up, and she said, "Aisha has a point, Rocky. Some boys get sad about it. Others get angry, and they take it out on their ex." She turned to Aisha, saying, "Zack is in the first category. He gets sad and angry, yes, but he doesn't take it out on others."

Aisha said, "If you say so. I'm still going to keep my distance, anyway."

Rocky, Adam, and Aisha left the Rangers to continue training. Kimberly, Tommy, and Billy walked to a private space to talk more.

Kimberly turned to Tommy and Billy, and she said, "I heard Angel Grove High will soon decide which of the Angel Grove students will go to the World Teen Peace Conference."

Billy said, "That would be a prestigious honor to attend. Would Angel Grove High send Jason, Zack, and Trini?"

Kimberly said, "I don't think so. Jason's parents are putting pressure on the principal not to let him go, since that would disrupt his martial arts."

Billy asked, "Wouldn't that upset Jason? Doesn't he want to go?"

Kimberly said, "Trini told me it was Jason's idea. He doesn't want to leave the Power Rangers. His cover story for the school is that he doesn't want to stop martial arts training."

Billy said, "That's smart. What about Trini?"

Kimberly said, "Trini told me that Ms. Appleby isn't letting her go. Trini's grades are lower than usual, and Ms. Appleby wants her to focus on her grades. Trini is happy with that, since that means she gets to stay with us."

Billy said, "Good, good. What about Zack?"

Kimberly said, "He got disqualified for going to the Peace Conference after he and Angela got sent to detention. They were in detention for disrupting the school with their fight."

Billy said, "I don't think that helped him at all."

Kimberly sighed, and she said, "Nope. I asked Zack about it after school yesterday, and he told me he spent the whole detention silently glaring at Angela."

Tommy said, "Poor Zack. He's hurting badly."

Billy remarked, "Not even our power coins will protect us from heartbreak."

Kimberly said, "I think he will be okay with not going, anyway. Part of why he wanted to go was so he can go around the world with Angela."

Tommy said, "As sad as it is that the three of them aren't going, I'm also happy they're staying. It looks like our team will stay in one piece."

Kimberly said, "I wouldn't say that just yet, Tommy. I heard rumors that Angel Grove High might send Billy."

Billy cried, "Me!? Why!?"

Kimberly said, "You're a high honors student. You are a logical choice to go to the Peace Conference."

Billy said, "As prestigious as it is to go, I don't think it's a good idea at all for me to go! I can't help you guys if I'm stuck at the World Peace Conference."

Tommy said, "I agree. I worry about what will happen if he goes. Without him, our team will be one Ranger short, and that will make it harder to fight Rita and Zedd."

Kimberly said, "Yeah. The Lightspeed Rangers are great and all, but they can't always come to our aid. If we are short one Ranger, then our team is weaker."

Billy said, "Affirmative. I don't want to be the reason we lose to Rita and Zedd."

The three Rangers heard the announcer yell, "Ladies and gentlemen, it's time to start the triathlon!"

Tommy said, "Hey, it's starting. Let's go grab our seats!"

The three Rangers took their seats and watched the teens start the race. The first leg of the race was a swim across the lake.

Meanwhile, Lord Zedd and Goldar are eagerly watching the race from the comfort of the Moon Palace.

Lord Zedd growled, "Today, we get to crush the Power Rangers finally! This race will be the perfect distraction!"

Goldar said, "We can try capturing the three teens again and try recruiting them into the Dark Rangers."

Lord Zedd snapped, "We tried that twice, and that failed! No, we need a different tactic."

Lord Zedd sat back on his throne, and he thought about the Rangers' annoying tendency to fight back. They always seemed to respond quickly, no matter what was happening. He suddenly got an idea, and he said, "Goldar, get Finster! I need to make a new monster!"

Goldar said, "Right away, my Lord."

Bulk and Skull were sitting in a canoe on the lake back on Earth. They were watching the race, or more accurately, Bulk was watching the race. Skull was staring at Kimberly. Skull nearly fell into the water when Bulk slapped his arm.

Skull cried, "Bulk, what was that for!?"

Bulk said, "I was trying to get your attention!"

Skull said, "Well, you got it."

Bulk said, "I said that some racers could be Power Rangers. They're athletic, just like these racers are! I brought a device I made that will detect Power Rangers."

Bulk reached into his bag, and he pulled out a weird-looking device. Bulk was about to continue talking, but he saw Skull staring at Kimberly again.

Bulk yelled, "Skull!"

Skull cried, "Sorry!"

Bulk held up the device he made, and he said, "This is called an energy output meter. A Power Ranger likely gives off more energy than a normal person, and this device can detect it! You pretend to fish, and I will use this meter on the racers."

Skull asked, "What do we do when we find a Ranger?"

Bulk said, "We talk to them after the race! And no, we will not pull them out of the race. I don't want to get a Power Ranger mad!"

Skull sat down in the canoe, and he fished. His eyes drifted over to Kimberly again, but Bulk stopped him.

Bulk said, "Eyes on the water, not on any girls in the audience! Stop being a creep!"

Skull protested, "I'm not being a creep!"

Bulk yelled, "Oh yes, you are! You are staring at the girls in the audience! Do both of us a favor and stop being creepy! Eyes on the water!"

Skull said, "Okay, sorry."

Bulk said, "Thank you. There are enough creeps and perverts out there. I don't need you to be another one of them."

Skull settled into the canoe, and he kept his eyes on the water. To his surprise, something big tugged on his line! He cried, "Oh, I got something big!"

Bulk said, "I said pretend to fish, not to go fishing!"

Skull said, "I'm going to reel it in!"

Bulk yelled, "Skull!"

Skull stood up, and he reeled in the line. An annoyed Bulk yelled Skull's name several times, but Skull didn't listen. Suddenly, Lord Zedd teleported the fishing pole and the energy output meter to the Moon Palace. The sudden disappearance surprised Bulk and Skull, and the two fell into the water. The boat capsized over as well.

Bulk glared at Skull, and he said, "My dad is going to kill me for losing the fishing rod again!"

Skull dived underwater before Bulk could hit him. Bulk yelled out Skull's name before diving underwater to chase Skull.

At the Moon Palace, Lord Zedd was admiring his newest creation. He called it the Beamcaster. He sent it to Angel Grove Park with one mission, and that was to control people's minds with Lord Zedd's Zedd Waves. Beamcaster arrived at Angel Grove Park, and people started running away screaming. Beamcaster fired his Zedd Waves at a random person, and the man fell onto his belly. The man abruptly stood up, pivoted towards Beamcaster, and he walked. He held his arms out and chanted, "Hail Lord Zedd!" Beamcaster laughed, and he started firing Zedd Waves at more people.

The alarm sounded in the Command Center. Alpha 5 walked over to the viewing globe and yelled, "Ay ay ay, there is trouble in Angel Grove Park!"

Zordon said, "I feared this would happen. Contact the Lightspeed Rescue Power Rangers."

Alpha 5 looked at them through the viewing globe, and he saw the Lightspeed Rescue Rangers fighting another monster.

Alpha 5 said, "Oh no, Lord Zedd is keeping the other team busy!"

Zordon felt bad about tearing the Rangers away from the Triathalon, but he had no choice. He tried to contact Tommy, Billy, and Kimberly, but they didn't answer. He was about to ask Alpha 5 to check on them, but the viewing globe was already looking at the three Rangers.

Alpha 5 cried, "Oh no, Tommy, Billy, and Kimberly are also busy! They're helping Rocky, Adam, and Aisha change into biking outfits. Why can't they hear us!?"

Zordon said, "They likely can't hear it right now. Contact Jason, Zack, and Trini."

Alpha 5 cried, "Are you sure!? Zack looked angry earlier!"

Zordon said, "Then the fight will give him an outlet. Call them."

At that moment, Jason, Zack, and Trini were leaving the water. Zack was visibly calmer, much to Jason's relief. That relief was short-lived when their communicators beeped.

Alpha 5's voice came through Jason's communicator, informing them of the situation.

Zack said, "So, Lord Zedd has sent another monster? I was looking for an outlet."

Jason said, "Easy Zack, don't lose your cool."

Zack said, "I won't. That scuba diving helped me."

Jason said, "Good. It's Morphin Time!"

"Mastodon!"

"Sabertooth Tiger!"

"Tyrannosaurus!"

The three Rangers ran off to the park to confront Beamcaster. When they arrived, they saw Beamcaster firing at people.

Jason yelled, "Your time is over!"

Beamcaster turned to look at the three Rangers. He laughed, and he shot them all with a Zedd Wave. The three Rangers fell into a trance, following Beamcaster around.

Meanwhile, Tommy, Billy, and Kimberly were watching the race. Suddenly, Z-Putties showed up and surrounded them! Tommy, Billy, and Kimberly immediately leaped into action. Rocky, Adam, and Aisha just pulled up as well.

Rocky jumped off his bike first, and he yelled, "We'll give you a hand!"

Tommy was about to protest, but a Z-Putty swung at him with a fist. Tommy ducked, and he retaliated by punching the Z-Putty back. The scene soon became a mess of hands and feet flying towards various Z-Putties. In a matter of minutes, the Z-Putties were gone.

Tommy said to Rocky, Adam, and Aisha, "Thanks for the help; I appreciate it. I feel bad that you will not win the race now."

Rocky shook his head and said, "Hey, we're better than that. We saw our friends in trouble, so we helped. That's more important than some race."

Tommy, Billy, and Kimberly's communicators beeped simultaneously. Aisha looked at them, and she was about to ask about the communicators.

Billy said, "We will explain later."

Tommy, Billy, and Kimberly walked to a secluded part of the area, and they waited for Rocky, Adam, and Aisha to resume the race.

Tommy asked, "What's happening, Zordon? Z-Putties just attacked us!"

Zordon said, "Lord Zedd has struck. I will explain once you return to the Command Center."

Kimberly said, "Looks like this day just got crazy."

Billy muttered, "Just another day in Angel Grove. A day when there aren't any Z-Putties is looking unusual."

The three Rangers teleported back to the Command Center, and they saw Alpha 5 anxiously watching the Viewing Globe. The three Rangers approached it as well, and they saw Lord Zedd's new monster running around the park.

Zordon explained, "This is Lord Zedd's new monster, Beamcaster. Beamcaster is using his beams to trap people in a trance. Unfortunately, he hypnotized Jason, Zack, and Trini."

Kimberly said, "That's awful! How did that happen?"

Tommy said, "The whole Angela situation has distracted them. It might have made them slower to respond."

Alpha 5 cried, "That's not all! Billy, I'm noticing that you're more anxious as well!"

Zordon said, "That is correct. Billy, Alpha 5 has observed you waking up in your sleep frequently. Are you feeling well?"

Billy said, "I'm anxious about the Peace Conference, but now I'm apprehensive about my friends! Is there a way we can help them?"

Zordon said, "There is. The only way to wake up the others is to reverse the Zedd Waves."

Tommy asked, "Billy, can you make a device that can reverse the waves?"

Billy said, "I can give it a shot."

Zordon said, "Be as quick as you can. The longer people stay hypnotized, the harder it will be to wake them up. Time is of the essence."

Billy quickly ran to another room to work on the device. Tommy and Kimberly turned their attention to the Viewing Globe. They watched as Beamcaster hit more people with the Zedd Waves. Bulk and Skull got hit by the Zedd Waves as well. Even though Tommy wasn't fond of them, he also felt bad for Bulk and Skull at that moment.

Tommy growled, "Hurry, Billy."

Kimberly said, "We will be fine, Tommy."

They watched as Beamcaster walked towards a crowd of spectators. Tommy's fists tightened when he saw Beamcaster hypnotize the spectators. Tommy was about to yell at Billy, but he didn't need to. Billy approached them with a device in his hands.

Billy said, "I haven't tested the device, but it should be able to reverse the Zedd Waves."

Tommy said, "Good. We can use it to help."

Billy said, "Remember, I haven't finished testing it."

Tommy said, "I know, but we should try using it, anyway. It's the only way we can help."

Zordon said, "Be careful to avoid the Zedd Waves."

Tommy said, "We will be careful. It's Morphin Time!"

"Tigerzord!"

"Pterodactyl!"

"Triceratops!"

The three Rangers teleported to the race, and they saw Beamcaster hypnotizing more people. He has now formed a small army by this point. Kimberly saw Jason, Zack, and Trini in the crowd, and she pointed them out for Billy. Billy aimed his device at the crowd, but Kimberly interrupted him.

Kimberly yelled, "Billy, watch out!"

Billy turned around just in time to see Beamcaster charging towards him! He jumped up and kicked Beamcaster in the face. Beamcaster cried out in pain, and he shot Billy with the Zedd Waves. Billy cried out, and he dropped the device.

Kimberly yelled, "Billy, no! Beamcaster, you will pay for that!"

Kimberly was about to grab the device, but she stopped herself. The hypnotized people started marching for Tommy and Kimberly! The hypnotized mob crushed the device under their feet to the two Rangers' horror. Tommy had found it ironic that Billy had crushed it under his feet.

Tommy turned around to face Beamcaster, and he charged toward him. Beamcaster just laughed, and he hit Tommy with the Zedd Waves. Kimberly took out her bow and fired an energy bolt at Beamcaster. Beamcaster shrugged it off, and he threw a cherry bomb at her! Kimberly jumped out of the way, and she rolled onto the ground. She gracefully rolled back onto her feet, and she aimed to take another shot. She fired another energy bolt at Beamcaster, and Beamcaster staggered back a few inches.

At that moment, Kimberly saw Rocky, Adam, and Aisha arrive on their bikes. Kimberly yelled, "No! Stay away!"

Beamcaster laughed, and it fired at Kimberly again. She rolled out of the way, and she ended up behind a rock. Rocky, Adam, and Aisha ran up to her, and Kimberly tried to wave them away.

Aisha said, "Hey, we're here to help! You helped us out, so it's fair for us to help you!"

Kimberly hissed, "This is too dangerous for you!"

Adam said, "We can handle ourselves! Tell us what to do!"

Kimberly looked out from behind the rock, and she saw Beamcaster run off towards another group of people. She looked back at Rocky, Adam, and Aisha, and she said, "One Ranger dropped a device. Go get it and come back here."

Rocky said, "I'm on it!"

Rocky ran out from behind the rock and he saw a smashed device lying on the ground. He ran towards it, grabbed it, and returned to the rock.

Rocky said, "Okay, I got it. What's next?"

Kimberly held up her wrist, and she said to her communicator, "Zordon, get us out of here!"

Before Rocky, Adam, and Aisha could say anything, the four of them teleported into the Command Center. After they arrived, Rocky, Adam, and Aisha staggered back onto their feet.

Rocky asked, "Where are we? And who is Zordon?"

Aisha said, "If I were to guess, its the robot or the floating head in the tube."

Kimberly pointed at Alpha 5, and she said, "That is Alpha 5." She pointed at Zordon, and she said, "And that's Zordon."

Aisha said, "And you're Kimberly, aren't you?"

Kimberly blinked, and she asked, "What? How did you know? I mean -"

Aisha said, "Your voice sounded familiar! You're Kimberly, aren't you?"

Zordon said, "It's alright. They've proven themselves to be trustworthy. You can tell them your identity."

Kimberly took off her helmet, and she said, "Yes, I'm the Pink Ranger. And we all need your help right now. Billy created the device that Rocky is holding to defeat Beamcaster, but it got smashed to pieces."

Aisha looked at the device in Rocky's hands and asked, "Can I see that?"

Rocky didn't answer because he was busy staring at Zordon.

Rocky asked, "Does it hurt to be in the tube?"

Aisha yelled, "Rocky!"

Rocky spun around and he nearly dropped the device. Thankfully, Aisha grabbed it. She took the device from Rocky's hands and looked at it.

Aisha said, "Well, Billy destroyed the outer casing, but the internal components are okay. Give me a few minutes, and I can repair it. While I do that, please explain what is going on here!"

Kimberly asked, "Are you sure you want me to do that now?"

Aisha said, "I've been fixing stuff at a radio station for the last three summers. Some of this is second nature. Anyway, explain, please."

Zordon and Kimberly explained the Power Rangers to Rocky, Adam, and Aisha. The whole thing blew Rocky's mind. Everything the Power Rangers have done fascinated Adam. Aisha became noticeably more and more relaxed as she learned more.

Aisha yelled, "Done! This device is supposed to reverse the Zedd Waves, correct? What do you think would happen if I fired at the globe?"

Kimberly shrugged, and she said, "It's worth a shot. Go ahead."

Aisha aimed at the Viewing Globe, and she fired the reversal beams at the Rangers. She frowned when she noticed it wasn't working.

Zordon said, "I can help with that."

Zordon projected energy beams onto the device, breaking the spell over the Rangers. Kimberly cheered, and she said, "Thank you so much!"

Zordon teleported the other Rangers to the Command Center, and he explained to the other Rangers what had just happened. The other Rangers took off their helmets to reveal their identities to Rocky, Adam, and Aisha.

Tommy said, "Thank you for helping us; we appreciate it!"

Billy asked, "Aisha, did you repair that device on your own? How?"

Aisha said, "Experience, that's how."

Tommy said, "Now that we're back in business, we can use Billy's device on Beamcaster!"

The Rangers teleported back to the park, and they saw Beamcaster walking around triumphantly. Tommy was about to yell, but Billy stopped him.

Billy whispered, "Element of surprise."

Tommy looked a bit hurt, even behind the helmet, but he understood Billy's point. Billy fired the device at Beamcaster, but Beamcaster just disappeared behind a tree. Beamcaster reappeared, and this time, he was facing the Rangers. Billy fired another shot at Beamcaster, and Beamcaster deflected it back at the Rangers. The Rangers dove out of the way, rolling onto the ground. Tommy got up onto his feet, and he saw Beamcaster take out two bombs. Beamcaster threw them at Tommy, but Tommy caught them. Tommy threw them back at Beamcaster, and they blew up.

Jason yelled, "That's more like it!"

The Rangers formed the Power Blaster and fired it at Beamcaster. Beamcaster screamed when the Power Blaster hit him, and Beamcaster exploded.

Tommy said, "That's how we do it!"

Rocky, Adam, and Aisha teleported back to the Rangers, and they showered the Rangers with praise and admiration.

Rocky asked, "So, can we be Power Rangers too?"

Tommy said, "I think you earned that privilege. It's up to Zordon, but I have a feeling he feels the same way, too."

Rocky, Adam, and Aisha all cheered. The Rangers, Rocky, Adam, and Aisha, noticed that everyone snapped out of their trances. The Rangers demorphed before anyone could see them.

Tommy groaned, "Oh no, the race!"

Kimberly yelled, "Go! Get back in! You three still have to finish your race!"

The six Rangers were standing at the finish line long after the fight. They watched the racers cross over the finish line, and Rocky, Adam, and Aisha ended up being among the last to finish.

Billy said, "Congratulations!"

Rocky said, "Thank you, and thanks for waiting for us at the finish line."

Kimberly said, "I feel bad about ruining your chances of winning."

Aisha said, "Hey, the only thing that matters is we did our best."

Adam added, "Helping you out was one of the most important things we've done. So it was worth it."

Rocky chuckled, and he said, "Not to mention that we saw the Power Rangers fight again!"

The Rangers, Rocky, Adam, and Aisha, shook hands and gave each other high fives.

Tommy said, "There is one more thing to do."

The Rangers teleported to the Command Center with Rocky, Adam, and Aisha.

Tommy asked, "Zordon, can Rocky, Adam, and Aisha join the Power Rangers? And can they have the same powers as we do?"

Zordon said, "Yes. Rocky, Adam, and Aisha, I officially welcome you into the ranks of the Power Rangers."

Rocky, Adam, and Aisha all cheered, and the Rangers extended their congratulations.

Rocky asked, "Do we get to have powers like the others do?"

Zordon said, "In time. Alpha 5 is currently searching for more sources of power. Once Alpha 5 has located a new power source, you three can use those powers. It may even be possible to duplicate the existing Ranger powers and give the copies to you three. In the meantime, these six Power Rangers will train you. Help them out in any way you can, and they will train you. In time, you three will have powers of your own. Congratulations on joining the ranks."

Rocky, Adam, and Aisha all had huge smiles on their faces, and the Rangers gave them their congratulations.
