Kimberly and Katherine were talking at the Juice Bar. They were the only two in the Juice Bar at the moment. Everyone else was staying home, prepared for another monster attack. There was a superstition spreading that monsters love to attack during holidays.

Kimberly asked, "What do you think of Angel Grove so far?"

Katherine said, "It's nice if you ignore all the monster attacks." She shook her head and smiled in amusement, and she said, "I honestly wasn't expecting to have my world turned upside down when I moved here. One minute, I was a girl from Australia moving to a new country. The next, I'm recruited into the legendary Power Rangers."

Kimberly said, "It makes your head spin, doesn't it? It took a few days for things to sink in for me."

Katherine asked, "Yeah. How long did it take you to adjust?"

Kimberly said, "It took me a few weeks. Each person adjusts at different speeds. Aisha adjusted the quickest. She needed to get color-coded outfits immediately."

Katherine pointed at her pink clothes, and she said, "Yeah. Aisha and I left to go shopping immediately after Zordon welcomed me into the Rangers. Do we need to have color-coded outfits?"

Kimberly just shrugged, and she said, "It just happened on its own. I guess it's tradition now."

Katherine said, "Guess so. Do you know when we will get called into battle?"

Kimberly shook her head, and she said, "No one knows. Although, there hasn't been a monster attack for a few days now. Don't let your guard down, though. Things can happen."

Katherine said, "I won't."

Kimberly's communicator beeped, and she said, "See? We're going to go into battle again." She said to her communicator, "Zordon, I read you. Where is the monster?"

Zordon said, "There is no monster. I'm letting you and the Rangers know that Lord Zedd will begin his Centennial Recharge. He won't be causing any problems for Angel Grove for a few days."

Jason said, "He's asleep? Why don't we attack now?"

Kimberly shook her head, and she said, "Serpentera would tear us apart if we tried. Also, if we attacked, they would just wake him up."

Zordon said, "Kimberly is correct. Enjoy yourselves while you can."

Kimberly looked at Katherine, and she said, "You heard him. Time to relax."

Katherine picked up her backpack and said, "The Power Rangers get to relax. We got homework to do, remember?"

Kimberly groaned, and she joked, "Katherine, you're so evil."

Katherine laughed, and she said, "Let's get started then. The sooner we finish our homework, the sooner we can relax."

The two of them worked on their homework. They paid little attention to the flash of light that came from the Moon. Lord Zedd was taking time off, after all.

Alpha 5 didn't let himself relax, though. Unlike the Rangers, he was getting very anxious. He paced around the Command Center, checking and rechecking the consoles.

Zordon asked, "Alpha, is everything okay?"

Alpha 5 said, "Something isn't right! What is that human phrase the Rangers use about a bad feeling?"

Zordon said, "The phrase is that they have a bad feeling about a situation. Are you having a bad feeling right now?"

Alpha 5 said, "That is correct. I miss the Rangers too!" He turned around, and he saw a monster on the Viewing Globe. He yelled, "There's a monster at Angel Grove, and it's approaching Adam!"

Zordon was about to alert the Rangers, but he stopped and watched the Viewing Globe instead. Something about the monster was off. The monster jumped in front of Adam and Sarah. Sarah screamed, and she jumped behind Adam. Adam got ready to fight, and the monster started laughing. The monster took off its head, revealing that it was Zack wearing the costume. Zack laughed at Adam's and Sarah's reaction, and Adam and Sarah soon joined in the laughter as well.

Zordon said, "Don't worry, Alpha. It was Zack having harmless fun."

Alpha 5 said, "Oh, I'm relieved, and I am still worried! What if something terrible happens?"

Zordon said, "Everything will be fine, Alpha."

Alpha 5 said, "I don't know. I think I will go for a walk outside."

Zordon said, "Go on ahead. I will alert you if something happens."

Alpha 5 walked outside of the Command Center. He looked around, hoping to see a Ranger. Even Billy was away, busy doing something for school or Lightspeed Rescue. Alpha 5 wished he could sigh. He used to spend time with Billy when he first became a Ranger, but that has changed. He heard some noise behind some rocks, getting his attention.

Alpha 5 perked up and asked, "Billy, is that you?"

Alpha 5 walked over to the rocks, hoping to see Billy. Unfortunately, the Rangers weren't nearby. He found the Z-Putties instead! He was about to yell for Zordon, but the Z-Putties kept him from doing that. The Z-Putties knocked Alpha 5 onto the ground, and Alpha 5 cried out for help.

Finster approached Alpha 5, and he said, "Hold still. This won't last long."

Finster inserted a disc into Alpha 5, and Alpha 5 instantly went limp. His eye was blank, showing that Alpha 5 has shut down. The eye lit up, showing that Alpha 5 was awake again.

Finster asked, "Who are you working for?"

Alpha 5 said, "Lord Zedd and Rita Repulsa."

Finster said, "Good! Good!"

Finster and the Z-Putties teleported away to the Moon, leaving Alpha 5 alone. Alpha 5 stood up and returned to the Command Center as if nothing had happened.

Zordon asked, "Alpha, how are you feeling?"

Alpha 5 ignored him, and he contacted the Rangers. He said, "Rangers, we need you at the Specter Theatre! Lord Zedd has summoned monsters and has placed them there!"

Tommy said, "We're on it! Jason, Zack, Trini, Kimberly, and Billy, you five are with me. We will morph and head to the Specter Theatre. The rest of you, go to the Command Center and be ready to support us from there."

The Rangers all said, "Acknowledged!"

Zordon demanded, "What are you doing!? There aren't any monsters in the Specter Theater!"

Alpha 5 snapped, "Shut up! I have had it with you and your blathering!"

Zordon was stunned, and he said, "Alpha, this isn't like you. Something is wrong."

Alpha 5 yelled, "Oh something is wrong alright! You are what's wrong! You are just a coward who stays in his tube while teenagers do all the hard work!"

Zordon said, "I am stuck in this tube, remember? There is only so much I can do from here."

Alpha 5 yelled, "Excuses, excuses! I am going to show you exactly what I think of you and the Rangers! Speaking of the Rangers, I am shutting down your communicator! That way, you can't alert the Rangers about my plan!"

Zordon yelled, "Don't do that! The Rangers may need help!"

Alpha 5 said, "I am also going to lock the doors, so no one can get in!"

Alpha 5 sealed the Command Center, and he looked up to see Zordon looking disapprovingly at him.

Zordon said, "Alpha, you must cease this at once!"

Alpha 5 said, "I think I will fix it so that I won't have to listen to you either!"

Alpha 5 pressed a button, and Zordon's voice ceased to come out of the tube.

Alpha 5 yelled, "The Alpha you knew is gone forever! This is the new Alpha, with a new mission: to oversee the destruction of the Power Rangers!"

Outside of the Command Center, Rocky, Adam, Aisha, Matthew, and Katherine were getting concerned. Adam knocked on the door, and he yelled, "Hey, we're here! Let us in!"

Rocky said, "This is weird. We teleported outside of the Command Center, and Zordon and Alpha aren't letting us in."

Adam groaned, and he turned towards Rocky. He said, "Yeah. They wouldn't seal the Command Center unless they were under attack."

Katherine said, "Something is very wrong here. We need to get the other Rangers to help!"

Rocky shook his head and said, "They're busy with monsters, remember? We gotta find our way in first."

Katherine said, "I think there's more going on than just a monster attack."

Katherine took out her phone and called Carter. When Carter answered, Katherine explained the situation.

Carter said, "You're right, something is off. I will get the others morphed, and we will get over to the Command Center. We will get in there, even if we have to punch our way in with the Megazord."

Katherine said, "Thank you."

Katherine hung up, and she said, "Come on, we gotta find the Rangers!"

Rocky said, "You heard Tommy. He said we were supposed to come here."

Adam said, "That's right, he did. He said we were supposed to be inside the Command Center. We need to find our friends!"

Rocky and the others left the Command Center and went to the Specter Theater.

At the Moon Palace, Finster was busy recreating 7 of Rita's monsters and 3 of Lord Zedd's monsters. It was a fairly automatic process, which allowed him time to think. If the Power Rangers beat these monsters, there won't be any wedding guests. Therefore, he can't use the monsters to fight the Rangers this time. He then got an idea of how to defeat the Power Rangers.

Rita Repulsa stormed into the Monster Factory, and she screamed, "What is taking so long!?"

Finster said, "I think I have an idea for how to beat the Power Rangers this time. We create evil versions of themselves!"

Rita spat, "We already did that before! The Power Rangers already beat them!"

Finster said, "Ah, but this time they will be different. These evil Rangers will heal from any wounds that are inflicted on them. They will also have their Megazords. I can guarantee these Rangers will be tough to beat." He thought for a moment, and he added, "I shall call them the Demon Rangers."

Rita yelled, "Oh, that's wonderful! If I wasn't marrying Lord Zedd, I would kiss you!"

Finster started working on 6 Demon Rangers. The Demon Rangers' colors were red, black, blue, yellow, pink, and green. They looked nearly identical to the real Rangers, except their visors were red.

Rita jumped with glee and said, "Oh, this is marvelous! We will finally destroy the Power Rangers!"

Rita was so ecstatic that she didn't bother to look at Earth through the telescope. If she had, she would have seen the Lightspeed Rescue Megazord approaching the Command Center.

Meanwhile, Tommy, Jason, Zack, Trini, Billy, and Kimberly were in the Specter Theater. It was dark and empty, and there wasn't any sign of monsters.

Zack said, "Okay, this is officially creepy. I vote we turn around and get out!"

Jason said, "No, we need to stay and fight the monsters."

Zack said, "This place gives me the creeps, man! And doesn't Lord Zedd send the Z-Putties first?"

Billy said, "Zack is right. This isn't nominal at all. We would have seen something by now."

Tommy said, "We'll look around. They can hide anywhere."

The Rangers went up to the balcony above the stage. They looked down at the floor below, and they saw nothing out of the ordinary.

Zack said, "I got a bad feeling about this."

They heard a new voice say, "You're right to have a bad feeling about this!"

The Rangers spun around, and they saw other Rangers surrounding them. The new Rangers looked virtually identical to Tommy's team, except their visors were red. To their surprise, there wasn't a White Ranger. Instead, there was a Green Ranger, and the Green Ranger had the Dragon Shield Tommy used to have. It was like seeing how the team used to look when Tommy was the Green Ranger.

The Green Ranger said, "Hello, Power Rangers. I'm Demon Green, the leader of the Demon Rangers. I'm pleased to meet you."

Jason said, "We beat the last clones that tried to kill us! We will do the same to you!"

Demon Red laughed and said, "I don't think so, buddy. You're fucked."

The Rangers tried to summon their weapons, but their weapons didn't appear. The Demon Rangers just laughed.

Zack cried, "Oh man, this isn't good at all!"

At the Command Center, Zordon could see the Rangers fighting the Demon Rangers on the Viewing Globe. He undid the mute command Alpha 5 had entered the console earlier.

Zordon asked, "Alpha, why would you put our friends in danger?"

Alpha 5 snapped, "Friends!? What friends!? They never hang out with me! Ever! They only come into the Command Center whenever there's trouble, and they only talk to you! No one cares about me!"

Zordon said, "The Rangers have saved your life several times already."

Alpha 5 said, "They saved your life. They wouldn't care if something happened to me, but they would care if something happened to you! The Rangers' destruction will be the perfect revenge for how they treated me and ignored me! When they die, the people of Earth will adore me! I will go down in history as the one who crushed the Rangers like insignificant bugs once and for all!"

Zordon yelled, "Alpha, you will cease immediately! You will get the Rangers back to safety!"

Alpha 5 yelled, "Shut up! I don't want to listen to you ever again!"

Alpha 5 shut off Zordon's tube and his voice, and the Command Center went silent. The alarm sounded, rudely interrupting Alpha 5's peace. Alpha 5 silenced the alarm, and he said, "The Power Rangers will pay for mistreating me!"

At the Specter Theater, the Rangers were busy fighting the Demon Rangers. Tommy and Demon Green were fighting in the center of the stage, and the other Rangers surrounded them. The other Rangers were busy fighting their Demon Ranger counterparts.

Demon Green said, "You're getting weaker, Rangers. I can feel it!"

Tommy swung at Demon Green with his fist, and Demon Green jumped out of the way. Demon Green kicked Tommy onto the ground, and he took out the Green Dragon Dagger.

Demon Red yelled, "Keep him in one piece, Demon Green! They are Rita's wedding gifts to Lord Zedd!"

Demon Green snapped, "I know that!"

Jason backed away from Demon Red, and he said to the other Rangers, "We're wedding gifts!? That explains why they are keeping us here!"

The other Rangers backed away from their Demon Ranger counterparts. The Demon Rangers looked at the Rangers maliciously. The Rangers looked around for a way out, and Tommy saw a doorway nearby.

Tommy yelled, "Come on, let's get out of here!"

The Rangers turned around and ran through the doorway into the next room. They made their way through several hallways until they arrived at a set of stairs going down. It was very dark down there, and the stairs looked old and unused.

Billy said, "This looks like it leads to the basement! We can get out this way!"

The Rangers heard the Demon Rangers laughing and taunting them nearby. The Rangers wasted no time in going down the stairs. They arrived in the basement, and they saw racks of alcohol lining the walls. Barrels of alcohol filled the room. Billy walked over to one rack and he picked up a bottle.

Jason said, "This isn't the time to try drinking, Billy. We gotta get out of here!"

Billy said, "I'm not drinking. Hold on a minute." He examined the bottle, and he said, "This dates back to the Prohibition. Bootleggers used this place to smuggle alcohol underground. So this means the Bootleggers' tunnel access should be nearby."

Billy put the bottle down and examined the walls. He gently knocked until he found a hollow spot. He backed up, and he ran towards it. He kicked it, making the fake wall completely crumble.

Tommy said, "Good work, Billy. Let's get out of here!"

The Rangers ran through the Bootleggers' tunnel, and they emerged into the sunlight. They ran down the street and rounded a corner. They stopped by an abandoned store, and they took in their surroundings. There was nothing but decaying buildings all around them. There were some homeless camps nearby, suggesting that some buildings may not be empty.

Zack remarked, "So we leave a creepy building and enter a bad neighborhood. That's great."

Tommy said, "We can try teleporting."

At the Command Center, Alpha 5 saw the Rangers escape.

Alpha 5 yelled, "You aren't getting away that easily!"

Alpha 5 teleported the Rangers back to the Specter Theater, and he laughed evilly. The Rangers were shocked to find themselves back in the Specter Theater.

Billy cried, "How did we end up back here!?"

Tommy said, "I don't know. Something is wrong!"

The Rangers heard the Demon Rangers' voices nearby, and Kimberly said, "We got bigger problems. The Demon Rangers are returning!"

The Demon Rangers emerged, and this time Z-Putties accompanied them! The two Ranger teams resumed their fight in the Specter Theater.

Meanwhile, Rocky, Adam, Aisha, Matthew, and Katherine were busy trying to find the Specter Theater. They had tried searching for their friends instead, and they split up into their cars.

Katherine spoke to her communicator, "Does anyone know where the Specter Theater is!?"

Rocky replied, "No idea. I'm still new to the area. I only know where the popular hangouts are."

Adam said, "Yeah, I don't know where it is."

Matthew said, "The Specter Theater sounds familiar." There was a pause, and he said, "Oh, that's right! The city shut it down in the 1980s! It shut down after too many people got mysteriously sick."

Rocky said, "That's a cursed theater then. Do you know where it is?"

Matthew said, "Yeah, I think so. It's in the center of Devil's Grove. I know the place Kimberly and I used to volunteer near that place before she became a Power Ranger. She and I saw that creepy building down the road from where we worked. I will text you the address."

The other four Rangers got Matthew's text, and they all met up at the Specter Theater. It was an old, decrepit building with two decades' worth of decay.

Matthew asked no one in particular, "Why were the others summoned here?"

Katherine said, "We will worry about that later. First, we need to get our friends out of there!"

They went up to the front door, and Rocky said, "Allow me."

Rocky backed up and got ready to charge at the door. Aisha stopped him, and she said, "No! You could get yourself hurt doing that!"

Rocky asked, "How do you suggest we get in, then?"

Matthew said, "There can be a window we can crawl through."

Katherine said, "No way. I'm not risking tetanus by climbing through a window."

Rocky, Matthew, Aisha, and Katherine got busy debating on how to get inside. Adam looked at the door, and he walked up to it. He grabbed the handle and pulled at it. To his surprise, it opened up easily. The others all looked at him.

Adam said, "What? We just assumed we couldn't use the front door."

Rocky's face turned a little red, and he said, "Don't tell the others."

Rocky led his group into the Specter Theater. They heard fighting nearby, and they ran towards the sound of the fighting. They arrived to see their friends fighting against another team of Rangers.

Tommy looked over and he yelled, "There you are! Give us a hand!"

Demon Green swung a fist at Tommy, and Tommy ducked. Tommy responded with a kick, and Demon Green stumbled backward.

Katherine ran towards Tommy, but Demon Pink stopped her.

Demon Pink said, "Looks like we have another toy!"

Kimberly jumped into the air and kicked Demon Pink down. Kimberly yelled, "You will not lay a single finger on her!"

Katherine took the chance to stomp on Demon Pink's hand. Demon Pink howled in pain, and Katherine stepped on the hand again.

Katherine said, "We gotta get you out of here!"

Demon Pink stood up and yelled, "You just broke my hand!"

Kimberly and Katherine started fighting Demon Pink. The two Rangers punched and kicked Demon Pink, and Demon Pink responded with her punches and kicks. When Kimberly delivered another kick, she sent Demon Pink into some old bookshelves. Demon Pink screamed when the bookshelves crumbled onto her, burying her under debris.

Kimberly said, "There goes Demon Pink." She turned to the others and yelled, "Get the Demon Rangers trapped! This is how we can escape!"

Kimberly and Katherine ran around, assisting their friends. They got Demon Red and Demon Black trapped in a closet. They impaled Demon Blue and Demon Yellow on some broken furniture. Finally, the Rangers could turn their attention to Demon Green.

Demon Green just laughed, and he said, "I believe they were going to save you last, Tommy!"

Tommy yelled, "They were just busy!"

Demon Green just laughed again, and he said, "So you say. This has been fun, but you have hurt all of my friends. So it's time to die."

Demon Green took out an old gun, and he pointed it at Tommy. Tommy wasted no time in responding. He immediately crouched down and shot his leg out at Demon Green's leg. Tommy surprised Demon Green, and Demon Green dropped the gun. Tommy stood up and drove his foot right into Demon Green's stomach. Demon Green screamed, and he stumbled backward. Jason jumped into the air and kicked Demon Green right in the chest. Demon Green stumbled back further, and he got dangerously close to some exposed rebar. Tommy and Jason charged at Demon Green, shoving him into the rebar. The rebar pierced through Demon Green's chest, and Demon Green screamed once more before he died.

Jason said, "That's for threatening my friend!"

Tommy said, "Thanks, Jason. Now let's get to the Command Center and help Zordon and Alpha!"

The Rangers arrived at the Command Center a short time later. The Lightspeed Rescue Megazord stood next to it, ready to punch a hole into the Command Center. Carter stood at the foot of the Megazord, waiting for Tommy's team.

Carter said, "The others are in the Command Center right now. They are trying to figure out what's wrong with Alpha 5."

Billy said, "I think I know what might be happening. Tell the others that we're coming in!"

Tommy's team entered the Command Center, and they saw Chad, Joel, Dana, and Kelsey holding Alpha 5 down. Alpha 5 was yelling at the four Rangers, demanding that they release him.

Chad asked, "So what's the order? Do we kill him?"

Billy said, "No, that won't be necessary. Stand him up. There may be a disc in his back panel."

The Lightspeed Rangers propped Alpha 5 up, and Billy examined Alpha 5's back. There was indeed a disc in there. Billy removed it, and he pressed a button to reboot Alpha 5. Alpha 5's eye went dark, and then it lit up.

Alpha 5 said, "Ay ay ay, what happened?"

Zordon asked, "How are you feeling, Alpha?"

Alpha 5 said, "I'm okay, I think. The last thing I remember was being outside when Finster attacked me."

Zordon said, "Finster had placed a disc in your back panel. He attempted to corrupt your programming."

Alpha 5 cried, "Ay ay ay, that's terrible!"

Billy said, "You're fine now."

Joel said, "He said something about being ignored, though. Is that true?"

Billy said, "We don't ignore him. We talk to him."

Alpha 5 said, "It gets lonely here though. You all have a lot of fun, and you don't spend any time with me."

Tommy said, "We can't hang out with you in public without attracting attention, but we could study here with you."

Katherine said, "Yeah. Homework won't finish itself after all."

Alpha 5 said, "I can help you with that!"

Tommy said, "I'm glad to hear it." He turned to Zordon, and he asked, "What's happening with Rita and Zedd? I thought Lord Zedd banished Rita?"

Zordon said, "Rita has returned, and she is now married to Lord Zedd."

The Rangers all exclaimed, "What!?"

Zordon said, "The two of them working together will be nearly unstoppable."

Kimberly said, "Maybe not. They may spend more time attacking each other than attacking us. Marriage isn't all sunshine and rainbows."

Tommy said, "If we're lucky, they will do just that. Zordon, what Rangers did we fight?"

Zordon said, "They are Demon Rangers. Rita Repulsa created them to stop you. You have defeated them, but they will all return."

Tommy asked, "All of them? How? We impaled three of them!"

Zordon said, "Alpha, show them the Demon Rangers on the Viewing Globe."

The Rangers turned to look at the Demon Rangers. They were somewhere in the Moon Palace, and the Demon Rangers' injuries were visibly healing. It was as if being impaled and buried under rubble wasn't traumatic at all.

Zordon said, "These Demon Rangers can heal from their wounds, no matter what the wound is. They are healing right now, and they will return."

Zack muttered, "Great."

Zordon said, "This makes it even more important that we get powers for Rocky, Adam, Aisha, Matthew, and Katherine. Get some rest. I will send you to Ninjor soon."

A/N: I'm replacing the Psycho Rangers from In Space with the Demon Rangers. The Demon Rangers will make appearances in later chapters, like the Psycho Rangers did. I'm changing the name because "psycho" isn't mental health friendly, and I much prefer Demon Ranger instead. I'm introducing swearing and mild gore to the story, and I hope it doesn't take away from the overall feel of the story :)
