Power Rangers: An AU Zordon Era

What if the original six Rangers stayed as the main Power Rangers from Mighty Morphin to In Space? This series goes from Mighty Morphin to Lost Galaxy. It starts in 2002 rather than 1993, and Lightspeed Rescue is included, along with the Rangers that showed up. I will make some changes to the plot. Dark AU. Jason/Trini pairing, Tommy/Kimberly pairing. Rated M for language.

10. Chapter 10

A/N: I don't own Power Rangers. They are owned by Saban. Slight mature language in this chapter.

Chapter 10

Date: June 13, 2003

The Rangers were at the Juice Bar, celebrating the end of another school year.

Tommy said, "That final was tough. I'm glad Alpha could help us!"

Billy said, "Yeah. I wasn't completely sure of my ability to take the examination."

Kimberly groaned, and she said, "Billy, no. Today was my science final, and I think I would like some plain English for the rest of the day."

The Rangers laughed, and Billy said, "Sorry, Kimberly. I said that I wasn't sure I could do that final."

Kimberly said, "That's better."

The Rangers' communicators beeped, making them all groan out loud.

Tommy said to his communicator, "Can't we just take a break!?"

Zordon said, "Don't worry, Lord Zedd isn't doing anything right now. Teleport to the Command Center. I want to update you on our plans."

Kimberly said, "Duty calls…"

The Rangers teleported, and they arrived at the Command Center.

Zordon said, "Rangers, I want to congratulate you all on finishing the school year! The past school year has been difficult, and Lord Zedd has not made it easy. You all showed that you are truly worthy of being Power Rangers. Congratulations."

The Rangers were stunned to hear Zordon say that. Usually, they would hear news about impending danger. This was very different.

Tommy asked, "What made you say that, Zordon?"

Zordon said, "I watched Alpha help all of you with your homework over the last few months, and I realized that being a high school student is as difficult as being a Power Ranger."

Zack said half-jokingly, "I don't know. Being a Power Ranger is harder. Homework doesn't transform into a monster and tries to beat you up. I hear what you're saying, though. Thanks, man. I appreciate it."

Zordon said, "You're welcome. Rangers, now that the school year is over, it is time for Rocky, Adam, Aisha, Katherine, and Matthew to train with Ninjor."

Rocky said, "Before we do that, can we please relax? Just for one day!?"

The other Rangers nodded in agreement.

Zordon said, "You can relax, Rangers. Rocky, Adam, Aisha, Katherine, and Matthew, you will go see Ninjor after the weekend. Have fun."

The Rangers all cheered, and they went home. The next day, they all gathered at the beach.

Rocky saw a nearby volleyball court and asked, "Is anyone up for some volleyball?"

The other Rangers all exclaimed excitement, and they ran towards the volleyball court.

Rocky said, "Let's split up into two teams. The original Rangers will be on one team, and the new ones will be with me! And Jason, I think my team is going to dominate your team!"

Jason said, "You're on!"

Tommy said, "I will be the referee. Let's see who will win! Oh, and in case it has to be said, no morphing! One, that's cheating. Two, the sight of Power Rangers playing volleyball will get unwanted attention."

The Rangers said, "Agreed!"

The Rangers got to their sides of the volleyball court, and they played. Tommy watched two Ranger teams expertly bounce the ball back and forth. He looked up for a moment, and his gaze fell onto the Moon. At that moment, there was a sudden flash of light.

Tommy said, "Whoa, did anyone see that?"

The Rangers stopped, and they turned to Tommy. The volleyball bounced in the sand and rolled to a stop next to Billy's feet. Billy picked up the volleyball, and he looked up at the Moon as well.

Billy said, "That's an affirmative from me. I saw that flash of light, too."

Kimberly said, "So much for a relaxing weekend. What is Lord Zedd up to?"

At the Moon Palace, everyone was trying to figure out what made that explosion. Well, everyone except for Rita Repulsa, that is.

Lord Zedd snapped, "Why are you so calm, Rita!? Can't you see we are under attack!?"

Rita Repulsa smirked, and she said, "You will find out soon, Zedd!"

At that moment, Rita Repulsa's brother Rito Revolto teleported into the throne room.

Lord Zedd yelled, "Who is this insolent fool!? Remove him at once!"

Rito Revolto said, "Aw, come on! I was hoping for a warmer welcome from my dear brother-in-law!"

Lord Zedd yelled, "I am not your brother-in-law!"

Rito Revolto said, "Technically you are, Ed! You married my sister, after all!"

Lord Zedd growled, and he said, "That doesn't mean you get to do as you please! This is my palace!"

Rito Revolto said, "I believe this is the new Repulsa home. Don't you think so, Ed Repulsa?"

Lord Zedd screamed, "My name is Zedd! Lord Zedd! I am the greatest threat this galaxy has ever seen!"

Rito Revolto yawned an exaggerated yawn, and he said, "That's hard to believe. You haven't conquered Earth yet! And you're being stopped by juveniles! They're practically children! If you can't win against children, what chance do you have against adults?"

Lord Zedd roared, "Silence, you insolent fool!"

Rito Revolto said, "That's funny you called me a fool because you keep using the same strategy repeatedly! Isn't that the definition of insanity?"

Lord Zedd screamed, "Shut up! I demand silence!"

Rito Revolto just laughed, and he said, "Rita, I think poor baby Ed needs a nap!"

Lord Zedd screamed, "Silence!"

Rito Revolto said, "I would take you seriously, but you're all bark and no bite."

Lord Zedd glared angrily at Rito Revolto. Rito Revolto laughed again, and he said, "You're cute, Ed. Rita, what do you have planned for Earth?"

Rita Repulsa said, "I'm glad you asked! I want to show you the Demon Rangers!"

Rita Repulsa led her brother to the Demon Rangers' room. Rita Repulsa explained to her brother what the Demon Rangers are capable of.

Rito Revolto said, "These Demon Rangers will help a lot! Once my eggs hatch, the Demon Rangers will have powerful allies to help them."

Rita Repulsa asked, "Eggs? What eggs?"

Rito Revolto said, "I will reveal that later. For now, we need to come up with a plan for how to destroy the Power Rangers!"

Back on Earth, the Rangers were resting at Ernie's Outdoor Cafe. Jason wore a makeshift crown on his head, and he had a big smile on his face.

Rocky said with an amused chuckle, "Come on man, you won by one point. One point!"

Jason laughed, and he said, "A victory is still a victory, even if it's by a very slim margin!"

Tommy said, "That was a good match. We need to do that again!"

Bulk and Skull were sitting at a nearby table, listening to the Rangers talk about their volleyball game. Skull was staring intently at Kimberly again, and he didn't notice Bulk trying to get his attention.

Bulk slapped Skull's arm, and he yelled, "Skull!"

Skull cried, "What!?"

Bulk said, "You are doing it again! Stop staring at her!"

Skull said, "Sorry. I was just thinking about going on a date with her. It's summer break after all."

Bulk said, "Listen, numbskull. She would snap you in half if she wanted to. And her boyfriend would crush you with very little effort. So if I were you, I would stay away!"

Skull said, "You're awfully protective of her….she's a dweeb!"

Bulk said, "I am protective against harassment like that! Be a gentleman, Skull!"

Skull said, "Okay, sorry."

Bulk said, "Thank you. I get it, you want to get a girl. So do I. But there has to be a better way…"

Skull was quiet, thinking about what Bulk had said. Two girls sat down near their table, and the two girls talked about the Power Rangers and men in uniform. Skull's thoughts drifted off to Kimberly, and how much he wanted to be with her. Suddenly, Bulk slapped his arm again.

Skull cried, "I'm not staring this time!"

Bulk said, "No, I slapped you because I was trying to get your attention. I got an idea! The two girls next to us talked about men in uniform, and the Angel Grove Junior Police Patrol was looking for new people. So why don't we join them too?"

Skull asked, "Why would we do that?"

Bulk said, "So we can get girls! And you can stop staring at Kimberly all the time!"

Bulk stood up on the table, and he yelled, "Attention everyone! I want your attention!"

Everyone in the Cafe turned around to look at Bulk. The Rangers were a mixture of amused and annoyed at the interruption.

Bulk said, "Skull and I are going to join the Angel Grove Junior Police Patrol!"

Everyone cried out in shock. Skull laughed, and he said, "Yeah! We're going to join the Angel Grove Junior Police Patrol!" He stopped, and he also cried out in shock.

Skull cried, "Bulk, no!"

Bulk said, "Bulk, yes! We are going to join the Angel Grove Junior Police Patrol!"

The Rangers all laughed, and they watched Bulk and Skull leave.

Jason said, "That's going to be a fun disaster to watch…"

Zack said, "Let's make bets on how long they last!"

Kimberly said, "They won't last a day. But hey, if it means Skull stares less at my ass, then I'm happy."

Tommy said, "I could talk to Skull about that."

Kimberly shook her head, and she said, "We went over this before, Tommy. I can handle myself."

Tommy said, "He stares at you."

Kimberly said, "And I'm more than capable of defending myself. You know that."

Tommy said, "I am still worried about you."

Kimberly growled, "Tommy, stop."

Tommy raised his hands in surrender, and he stopped. He knew it was best to back off. Kimberly is a Power Ranger, after all. If she can go up against any of Rita's and Zedd's monsters, then she can handle Skull staring at her.

The Rangers' communicators beeped, and they quickly went to a secluded part of the Cafe.

Tommy clicked on his communicator and asked, "Zordon, what's wrong?"

Zordon said, "Alpha just detected the Demon Rangers outside of the city! One of Rita's monsters accompanied them."

Zack groaned, and he said, "Really? They're already back?"

Tommy asked, "What about Ninjor's training? Weren't we going to send some of us to him?"

Zordon said, "That is correct. I do not know who this monster accompanying the Demon Rangers is. All I know at the moment is this monster is highly dangerous. We need to send the newer Rangers to Ninjor immediately!"

Rocky, Adam, Aisha, Katherine, and Matthew all groaned. Thanks to Rita and Zedd, their weekend is now gone. Tommy felt bad for the five of them. The last thing any of them wanted to do right now was more Power Ranger duties.

Rocky said to his communicator, "We're on it, Zordon!"

Rocky, Adam, Aisha, Katherine, and Matthew quickly left to prepare for the trip to Ninjor. Tommy and the rest of the team morphed, and they teleported to where the Demon Rangers were.

Demon Green snarled, "There they are, Rito!"

Rito Revolto looked at the Rangers, and he said, "These are the legendary Rangers my sister couldn't kill?"

Tommy asked, "Who are you, and what are you doing here!?"

Rito Revolto said, "I'm Rito, Rita's sister! She was so rude to not invite her own brother to the wedding!"

A beam of energy shot down from the Moon and hit Rito Revolto. Rito Revolto laughed, and he grew massive.

Tommy turned to Billy, and he asked, "Is the Tigerzord fully repaired?"

Billy said, "Affirmative!"

The six Rangers summoned the Thunder Megazord and the White Tigerzord. Rito Revolto stared at the two Megazords, and he said, "This is what's been giving Rita Repulsa a hard time!?"

The Thunder Megazord approached Rito Revolto first. It swung its sword at Rito Revolto, sending him backward. The White Tigerzord blasted an energy ball from its chest, and it smashed into Rito Revolto. Rito Revolto cried out, and he fell to the ground. The Tigerzord walked over to Rito Revolto, and it stomped on one of his legs.

Rito Revolto yelled, "Hey! That's not nice!"

Rito Revolto kicked the Tigerzord off, and he stood up. The Thunder Megazord swung its sword at Rito Revolto again, but he caught it.

Rito Revolto said, "I don't think so!"

The Rangers heard heavy footsteps approaching, and they saw the Lightspeed Megazord and the Max Solarzord approach them.

Rito Revolto said, "Well, that's not fair! That's four against one! Demon Rangers, come on out with your Megazord!"

The Demon Rangers summoned their Megazord. The Thunder Megazord and the White Tigerzord spun around to see the new arrival. The Demon Rangers' Megazord was exactly like the old Dino Megazord, except it was black with red highlights.

Zack cried, "Are you kidding me right now!?"

Tommy said, "That's what they did with the Dragonzord! They created a twisted version of our old Zords!"

The Tigerzord charged towards the Demon Megazord, and the Demon Megazord punched the Tigerzord. The Tigerzord stumbled backward, and the Thunder Megazord caught it.

Jason said, "Easy there, Tommy. Don't let your rage take over."

Tommy said, "I will try to control it."

Rito Revolto laughed, and he said, "That's right! I got friends now!"

The Lightspeed Megazord fired at Rito Revolto and he fell onto the ground. Rito Revolto yelled, "That's not fair play!"

Rito Revolto stood up, and he swung his sword at the Lightspeed Megazord. The Lightspeed Megazord stumbled backward. The Thunder Megazord approached Rito Revolto intending to attack him. The Demon Megazord intercepted the Thunder Megazord though, and it pushed the Thunder Megazord away.

Demon Red snarled, "I don't think so!"

Jason yelled, "Get out of our way!"

The Demon Megazord swung its sword at the Thunder Megazord, and the Thunder Megazord stumbled backward. It fell into some buildings, and the Demon Megazord approached the Thunder Megazord.

Carter yelled, "Hold on, we are coming!"

Rito Revolto swung at the Lightspeed Megazord, forcing the Megazord back. The Max Solarzord aimed its guns at Rito Revolto, and it fired. Rito Revolto deflected the shots with his sword.

Rito Revolto said, "Yawn!"

The Tigerzord intercepted the Demon Megazord. It punched the Demon Megazord before it could attack the Thunder Megazord.

Tommy yelled, "Leave my friends alone!"

At the Command Center, Alpha 5 was scrambling to feed power into the Thunder Megazord and the White Tigerzord.

Alpha 5 cried, "Ay ay ay, this isn't going well at all! I'm not able to give the Zords more power without causing a power surge!"

Zordon said, "Rangers, you need to retreat! You have pushed power levels to their limit, and a power surge will cost you your powers!"

Tommy said, "We have this!"

Jason spoke up, "Tommy, wait! What if this was the plan!? What if their plan was to overload the Zords?"

Tommy yelled, "They're trying to kill us, Jason!"

Carter said, "You know, that makes sense. We saw the surveillance footage. They were waiting for you to show up!"

Jason said, "Yeah, which means they were probably setting up a trap!"

On the battlefield, the four Megazords were busy trying to fight off Rito Revolto and the Demon Megazord. The Lightspeed Megazord fired at Rito Revolto and the Demon Megazord, getting their attention.

Carter said, "Go! We will cover you!"

The Demon Megazord turned its attention back to the Tigerzord. The Demon Megazord swung at the Tigerzord, smashing a big dent in the Tigerzord's chest.

Jason yelled, "Tommy, are you okay!?"

Tommy said, "I'm fine! You guys get out of here, the Tigerzord will hold them off!"

Kimberly yelled, "Tommy, what are you doing!?"

Tommy said, "Avenging the Dragonzord."

Tommy set the Tigerzord on autopilot, and he ejected out. He landed on the Thunder Megazord's shoulder, and he entered the cockpit.

Jason cried, "Tommy, what are you doing here!?"

Tommy said, "I'm here to tell you all to get out of here! The Tigerzord will keep the Demon Megazord distracted!"

The Tigerzord tackled the Demon Megazord onto the ground. Rito Revolto turned around, and he saw the Demon Megazord repeatedly punching the Tigerzord.

The Tigerzord said, "Self destruct activated…"

Kimberly said, "Tommy, what have you done…"

Tommy said, "I'm giving you an escape! Get out!"

The Thunder Megazord, Lightspeed Megazord, and Max Solarzord all quickly escaped the battlefield. Rito Revolto and the Demon Rangers did the same. The Tigerzord suddenly exploded in a huge fireball, taking the Demon Megazord along with it. Huge chunks of Tigerzord and Demon Megazord flew into the air and rained down onto the ground. A big crater at the edge of the city was all that remained of the two machines. The Rangers had retreated to a safe distance, and they watched from the safety of the Thunder Megazord.

Kimberly snapped, "Tommy, what was that!?"

Tommy said, "I sacrificed the Tigerzord to get us out of here. Zordon said to escape, and there was no way Rito Revolto and the Demon Rangers were going to let us escape."

Kimberly said, "I know what that was! I just wish you didn't do that! Tommy, please take off your helmet."

Tommy took off his helmet, and Kimberly punched him in the cheek.

Kimberly yelled, "Never do that again! I thought I was going to lose you!"

Tommy said, "Sorry, Kim. I didn't have a choice."

Kimberly said, "I know. I still didn't like that at all."

Zordon said, "Tommy, that was quick thinking. You gave the Rangers the chance to escape. Return to the Command Center. We need to update our plans."

The Rangers teleported back to the Command Center, and they all demorphed.

Tommy asked, "Is there a way to restore the Tigerzord?"

Zordon said, "Unfortunately, no. It's great you saved the Thunder Megazord. Angel Grove won't be entirely defenseless when we send Tommy and the others to train under Ninjor."

Tommy asked, "Are you sure we should go now?"

Zordon said, "Yes. Jason, Zack, Trini, Billy, and Kimberly can protect Angel Grove with the Thunder Megazord. Tommy, I advise you and the others to finish the training as quickly as you can. Rito Revolto's presence changes things."

Tommy said, "Understood."

Jason said, "Good luck, Tommy."

Adam asked, "Where are we going, Zordon?"

Zordon said, "Underneath the Desert of Despair there is a hidden temple. That is where Ninjor lives. The journey will be dangerous, but I have faith in your abilities. Alpha, give Matthew the map."

Alpha 5 gave Matthew a map, and he said, "This will guide you to the hidden temple."

Zordon said, "Good luck. May the Power protect you."

Zordon teleported Tommy, Rocky, Adam, Aisha, Matthew, and Katherine to the Desert of Despair.

Zack asked, "What about us?"

Zordon said, "You will remain in Angel Grove in case we need you. We will alert you if anything happens."

Zack said, "That sounds good to me."

Zack left the Command Center first, and he went to Angel Grove Park. He walked over to a shady spot near some trees, and he got in position to work out. He stopped when he heard Sarah yell for him.

Sarah ran up to Zack and she yelled, "Zack! Have you seen Adam anywhere!? He just disappeared during that scary monster fight! He told me to run, and I did! I thought he would be right behind me, and… and…"

Sarah broke down into tears, and Zack gently wrapped Sarah into a hug. Sarah sobbed loudly in Zack's shoulder, and Zack wished he could tell her that Adam was fine, that he was going to train under Ninjor. But he couldn't.

Sarah gently pulled herself away, and she said, "Adam always does this. He always needs to leave to help you and the others. He was so good at defending me, but he isn't good at staying with me!"

Zack said, "Man, that really sucks. He needs to stick with you more!"

Sarah sniffled, and she said, "I just about had it with this behavior. I saw… a dead body that looked very similar to Adam. Similar build, similar face, similar clothes. I know that wasn't Adam, but some part of me…"

Sarah's eyes watered, and she let out a few sobs. She said, "I can't do this anymore. I'm going to end things with him the next time I see him. He can't just leave me like that! Not to mention he stood me up on dates too sometimes, or he would leave in the middle of a date. I'm just done with that asshole."

Zack cried, "He isn't an asshole! He's… he's just trying, you know? I wish I could tell you more about what's going on with him, but…"

Sarah said, "Don't bother. I don't care if it's drugs or a gang or both. I'm done with that shit. Next time I see him, I'm telling him it's over."

Zack said, "Come on, at least give him a chance…"

Sarah glared hard at Zack, and she said, "I have given him many chances. So many chances you wouldn't possibly believe it. I'm fucking done with him." She paused, and she added, "You know what? Angela told me you did this to her as well. Here's a tip for you both! Women don't enjoy being abandoned like that! You should be more like Tommy, always there supporting poor Kimberly in these monster attacks! You and Adam just bolt at the first sign of danger! You two are terrible boyfriends!"

Sarah stormed off, leaving Zack alone in the park. He reached for the communicator, but he stopped himself. If he broke the news to Adam, he would sound like a horrible friend. This is something that Adam has to hear for himself, as painful as it is. Instead, he let out a brief cry of frustration.

On the Moon, Rito Revolto and the Demon Rangers were yelling at each other over their failure to destroy the Power Rangers.

Rito Revolto yelled, "If you hadn't attacked the Tigerzord like that, you wouldn't have forced the Tigerzord to sacrifice itself! The plan was to take out all the Rangers' toys!"

Demon Red yelled, "Maybe if you had more monsters, we would have had an easier time pulling that off! Four Megazords attacked us! Those were terrible odds!"

Rito Revolto was about to yell, but his sister cut him off.

Rita Repulsa screeched, "All of you shut up! You are giving me a headache!"

Rito Revolto said, "See!? Look at what you have done to my sister!"

Rita Repulsa snarled, "I was talking to you too, Rito! And you aren't the only headache I have. Apparently, your eggs are hatching!"

Rito Revolto immediately became excited, and he asked, "They're hatching!? That's wonderful news!"

Rita Repulsa rubbed her head, and she said, "I wish I knew what was hatching out of the eggs."

Rito Revolto paused for a moment, and he said, "You know what? I forgot what hatches out of them!"

Rita Repulsa yelled, "What!? You forgot!?"

Rito Revolto said, "You know how my memory is!"

Rita Repulsa was about to yell again, but she stopped. She heard the distinct sound of large birds cawing and flying around the Moon Palace. Rita Repulsa screamed in exasperation and frustration.

Rito Revolto said, "Oh now I remember! Those are the Tenga Warriors! They hatch out of those eggs I brought. They're much better than the Z-Putties!"'

Rita Repulsa yelled, "You are such a headache, you know that!?"

Rito Revolto said, "I have one egg that hasn't hatched yet, and that contains a new monster. It's a Vampirus!"

Rita Repulsa said, "Well, that monster better be good!"

Rito Revolto said, "This monster won't disappoint you!"

Lord Zedd walked into the room, and he said, "I know where the new Rangers Zordon recruited are! They are seeking the Temple of Power to gain powers of their own!"

Rita Repulsa said, "The Temple of Power? That's the perfect place for the Tengas to attack them! When we take them out, Zordon will lose one of his Ranger teams for good!"

Rito Revolto said, "There's still the problem of the other two teams."

Lord Zedd said, "The Lightspeed Rescue team is annoyingly powerful. I am still working on a way to defeat them. As for the original five, they outsmart every single plan we throw at them. We need to be smarter about how we deal with them."

Rito Revolto asked, "When do we go hunting, Ed?"

Lord Zedd yelled, "Don't call me that!"

Rito Revolto said, "Sorry, Eddy."

Lord Zedd yelled, "It's Zedd! Zedd! And to answer your question, we won't go after the original five Rangers yet. We need to take out the new rangers first, so they can't help the original Rangers!"

Rita Repulsa said, "That plan works for me, Zedd!"

Rito Revolto said, "I have one more thing to add. We need to place the Vampirus egg by the temple so he can steal the power in the Temple of Power!"

Lord Zedd said, "Good! Get on with that, then!"

Tommy, Rocky, Adam, Aisha, Katherine, and Matthew were walking in the Desert of Despair. Matthew had the map, and he was guiding them through the desert. They heard a constant woeful screaming in the air, and it was really difficult to ignore.

Katherine asked, "Are we even going in the right direction?"

Matthew said, "We should be. This looks like the right direction, anyway."

Adam complained, "I'm burning up. We should get some shade first."

Tommy said, "Yeah, good idea." He saw a small rocky alcove, and he said, "Let's rest there."

The six Rangers entered the small alcove, and they sat down in the nice shade. It was nice to be out of the Sun for a few minutes. Katherine picked up a rock, not thinking anything of it. Suddenly, a wall of fire formed around the alcove!

Aisha cried, "What just happened!?"

Katherine said, "I'm so sorry! I must have set off that trap!"

Tommy said, "Come on, let's get out of here!"

Adam jumped out of the alcove first, and Aisha jumped after him. Rocky and Tommy soon jumped out as well. Katherine jumped out next, and Matthew was the last to jump out. Matthew turned around and gasped in horror. The map was on fire!

Matthew cried, "Oh no, the map!"

Matthew went to grab it, but Tommy stopped him.

Tommy said, "Don't touch it, it will burn you!"

Matthew protested, "But the map!"

Tommy said, "We will find our way to the temple, even without the map.."

Matthew watched the map burn to ash, and he shook his head in disappointment.

Tommy said, "It's okay. The important part is that we are still in one piece."

The Rangers continued walking through the desert. Aisha looked up, and she saw the Sun approaching the middle of the sky. That meant it was almost noon. Suddenly, she sank into the sand!

Aisha yelled, "Hey! Help me, I'm in quicksand!"

Tommy and Rocky turned around and saw Aisha sinking into the quicksand. Tommy yelled for Katherine, Matthew, and Adam to help, and the five Rangers ran over to Aisha. They grabbed her arms and pulled her out of the quicksand. Thankfully, they didn't have to exert themselves too much.

Aisha brushed herself off and said, "Thanks. I will be more careful next time."

Matthew looked around and saw a familiar rock formation. He recognized it from the map Alpha had given them!

Matthew yelled to get the others' attention, and he said, "I recognize that rock formation from the map! We're headed in the right direction."

Tommy said, "Good. Hopefully, we won't encounter more traps."

Tenga Warriors suddenly showed up, and they surrounded the Rangers.

Rocky said, "Really, Tommy!?"

Tommy said, "No time for that! Let's fight them off!"

The six Rangers fought the Tenga Warriors. They tried punching and kicking the Tenga Warriors, but the Tenga Warriors brushed off their attacks. One of the Tenga Warriors threw Tommy into the sky, and he landed on the ground.

Rocky cried, "Tommy, are you okay!?"

Katherine yelled, "We need to get out of here!"

Matthew yelled, "Quickly! Get to that rock formation!"

The six Rangers turned towards the rock formation and ran towards it. They heard the angry calls the Tenga Warriors made behind them. Adam reached the rock formation first, and he pressed his hand against the rock wall. There was a loud rumbling sound, and the wall opened up. It looked like there was a tunnel!

Adam yelled, "Come on through here!"

The six Rangers ran into the tunnel. The closed space of the tunnel made the Tenga Warriors' calls even louder. They arrived at a dead end, and they turned around.

Katherine cried, "What do we do now!?"

Adam cried, "I thought this was a way out!"

Tommy stepped backward against the wall, or at least he thought he did. It surprised him to find that his foot didn't encounter the wall. He turned around and looked at the wall in front of him. He placed his hand on the wall, and he noticed that his hand went right through it!

Tommy said, "Adam, this was the way out! Come on through here!"

Tommy stepped into the wall, and the other Rangers followed him through the wall too. The Tenga Warriors all arrived at the wall, and they angrily yelled at it. One of the Tenga Warriors left the tunnel, and he placed the Vampirus egg outside the rock formation.

Tommy, Rocky, Adam, Aisha, Matthew, and Katherine stepped into a beautiful forest. One of the first things they noticed was the absence of woeful screaming. Instead, they heard the pleasant sound of peaceful silence.

Katherine said, "Thank God the screaming is over."

The other Rangers nodded in agreement. They saw the gates of an ornate temple a short distance away from them, and they walked towards the gates. When they entered the temple, a new voice spoke to them.

The new voice said, "Who are you, and what are you doing here?"

Matthew looked around and saw a blue vase sitting on a pillar. He said, "We're looking for Ninjor."

The voice said, "Come find me first. Then I will show you where Ninjor is."

Matthew approached the vase and looked inside it. He saw a tiny blue armored figure inside. That figure was the owner of the voice.

The blue figure said, "I am Ninjor!"

Ninjor grew his full size, which was thankfully the same size as the Rangers. The other Rangers walked over to Matthew, and the six of them stood in front of Ninjor.

Ninjor said, "Now, identify yourselves and explain your presence!"

Tommy said, "I'm Tommy, the White Ranger. These are my friends. Zordon sent us here to train under you."

Ninjor studied the Rangers, and he said, "Leave."

Tommy cried, "What!?"

Katherine said, "Zordon said you have to train us!"

Adam said, "We are ready for your lessons!"

Ninjor said, "No."

Matthew asked, "Is there some way we can convince you otherwise?"

Ninjor said, "No. I reserve the power in this temple for those who are worthy. Leave."

The six Rangers sighed, and they slowly walked away in disappointment.

Rocky muttered, "I can't believe we came all this way just to get turned back…"

Katherine said, "Yeah. That's just really anti-climactic after all that work…"

Aisha asked, "Are we ever going to beat Lord Zedd this way?"

Tommy said, "Well, we have our friendship. He can't destroy the power of our friendship, the bond we have. We will find another way."

Katherine looked at Tommy, and she said, "We will need more than friendship to beat Lord Zedd."

Ninjor said, "The girl in pink is correct! I will train you!"

The six Rangers all turned around. Katherine's smile was huge, and she asked, "Really!?"

Tommy asked, "What made you change your mind?"

Ninjor said, "I heard what you were saying, and now I know you weren't seeking this power out of greed. You are seeking to stop Lord Zedd."

Tommy said, "That's correct, and that's why Zordon sent us here."

Ninjor said, "Zordon is wise to send you all here. I will now train you in your new powers. But first, I need to know your names so I know what to call you."

The Rangers enthusiastically introduced themselves, and they followed Ninjor to the training grounds.

Back at Angel Grove, Kimberly was at home having dinner with her mom and her mom's fiance.

Kimberly's mom, Helen, said, "I have an announcement, Kimberly."

Kimberly stopped eating, and she looked at her mom and her mom's fiance. Her mom's fiance looked pretty happy about something, and he kept smiling at Helen.

Helen said, "Jean and I have been talking about where we want to move to, and we decided we are going to move to Paris!"

Kimberly froze in shock, and she just stared at her mom and Jean.

Jean said, "I have a wonderful vineyard outside of my parents' mansion. We can eat at the vineyard when we visit!"

Helen said, "Oh, that's wonderful! Paris is so romantic! Wouldn't it be wonderful, Kim?"

Kimberly said, "Yeah. Wonderful."

Helen saw Kimberly's face, and she asked, "What's wrong?"

Kimberly asked, "What's wrong? Mom, you are talking about leaving the country! I am going to lose all of my friends if I leave!"

Jean said, "They can still visit."

Kimberly cried, "Plane tickets are expensive! And 9/11 is still fresh in everyone's minds!"

Helen said, "I know Tommy and your friends are here, but you have to understand. The monster attacks are getting worse and worse!"

Jean nodded, and he said, "France is safe from monsters."

Kimberly said, "For now! If we stay here, then the Power Rangers will protect us! They kept us safe so far! They kept me and Tommy safe!"

Helen said, "For now. I worry that there will come a time when the Power Rangers won't be able to help, that there will be a time when the Power Rangers won't be able to save Tommy or any of your friends. They may not save you."

Kimberly yelled, "Of course they would save me! I'm -" She stopped herself, remembering Zordon's rule. She took a breath, and she said, "Even if the Rangers aren't able to save me and Tommy, I at least want to be by his side during a monster attack. I can't just leave him! What if he dies after I go to France!?"

Jean said, "He has survived this long. I am sure he will survive longer."

Kimberly yelled, "That logic applies to us too! We can stay!"

Helen said, "Kimberly, this isn't up for discussion. Jean and I are going to France at the end of the summer and that's final. Make your goodbyes this summer. You will start school in France in the fall -"

Kimberly screamed, "Mom, you don't understand what you are doing! If you knew more about what's going on, you wouldn't be making this decision! I hate you are doing this! I hate you!"

Kimberly stormed off to her room. Helen stood up, but Jean stopped her.

Jean said, "She said that out of anger. Give her time, she will understand. She's a teenager, and teenagers feel things deeply."

Kimberly slammed the door to her room, and she sat by her bed. She curled up by her bed and sobbed loudly. She got a glimpse of her morpher, and she threw it across the room.

Kimberly screamed, "I hate you so much, Rita Repulsa! I hate you so much, Lord Zedd! I just hate all of you!"

Kimberly's tears streamed down her cheeks, and she sobbed some more. Her communicator beeped, and she tried to collect herself before answering. She couldn't.

Kimberly asked through her tears, "Zordon, what's wrong?"

Zordon said, "I was about to ask you that. What's going on?"

Kimberly sniffled, and she said, "Get the others to the Command Center. My Mom just dropped big news, and we need to discuss what to do."

Zordon asked, "Are you sure you are okay?"

Kimberly said, "I honestly don't know…"

Zordon said, "Tommy and the others are still with Ninjor, and we can't teleport them back."

Kimberly said, "That's fine. He already has enough on his plate. I want to tell Jason, Zack, Trini, and Billy first anyway."

The five Rangers showed up at the Command Center, and they saw Kimberly's red eyes. They all gathered around her, and Trini gently placed a hand on Kimberly's shoulder.

Trini said, "This doesn't sound like something Rita is doing…"

Kimberly said, "No. It's…." She let a wave of sadness and anger pass through her, and tears went down her cheeks. She continued by saying, "My mom wants to move to France at the end of the summer. Even if I could still keep my powers, being a Power Ranger with the rest of you will be difficult due to time zones. So when I move to France, I… will be effectively leaving the team."

The Rangers all gasped. Zack cried, "What!? Unbelievable!"

Alpha 5 cried, "Ay ay ay, that is terrible!"

Billy said, "You have my apologies, Kimberly."

Jason said, "This isn't right! Not at all!"

Trini said, "We will come up with a solution, I promise! We won't let your mom remove you from the team like that!"

Zack said, "Yeah! We're Power Rangers!"

Billy said, "No one will tear us apart!"

Jason said, "Agreed. We will get through this, Kimberly. Just let us know what you need from us."

Kimberly sniffled, and she said, "Thanks. Just… when Tommy and the others come back…I want to be the one to break it to him."

Trini said, "That's perfectly reasonable, Kim. That's what I would do if I needed to move far away from Jason. I would like to break the news to Jason myself."

Jason nodded, and he said, "Tommy would appreciate that."

Kimberly said, "Yeah, or he may not. He gains new powers, and he will also possibly lose his girlfriend, too." She sighed, and she said, "I just can't see myself having a long-distance relationship."

Jason said, "We will think of something. I promise."

Meanwhile, Tommy's group of Rangers were all sitting down at the temple. Their bodies were sore and tender from the intense training they had gone through over the last few hours.

Ninjor said to the Rangers, "I am pleased to see the progress you have all made! You now own the power of Ninja. This power focuses on intelligence and cunning in battle. I will now grant you your Power Coins, ninja robes, and Zords."

Ninjor turned to Tommy first, and he said, "Tommy, you are the White Ninja Ranger. You command the White Falcon Ninjazord!"

Tommy morphed into white ninja robe, and he said, "Thank you. I'm honored."

Ninjor turned to Rocky, and he said, "Rocky, you are the Red Ninja Ranger. You command the Red Ape Ninjazord!"

Rocky morphed into red ninja robe. He looked at his outfit, and he said, "Red Ape Ninjazord? That's cool!"

Ninjor said to Katherine, "Katherine, you are the Pink Ninja Ranger. You command the Pink Crane Ninjazord!"

Katherine morphed into pink ninja robe. She said, "So this is what it's like to have your own Power Coin…"

Tommy said, "It's an awesome feeling."

Ninjor said, "Matthew, you are the Blue Ninja Ranger. You command the Blue Wolf Ninjazord!"

Matthew morphed into blue ninja robe. He said, "I won't let you down."

Ninjor said, "Aisha, you are the Yellow Ninja Ranger. You command the Yellow Bear Ninjazord!"

Aisha morphed into yellow ninja robe, and she said, "Thank you, Ninjor."

Ninjor said, "Adam, you are the Black Ninja Ranger. You command the Black Frog Ninjazord!"

Adam morphed into black ninja robe. He said with obvious disappointment, "I'm a frog?"

Ninjor said, "Never underestimate the power of the frog. I assure you that your power will come in handy."

Adam said, "I have no doubts about my powers. I am just disappointed that I have a frog zord. The others have awesome zords. I mean, falcons? Apes? Wolves?"

Ninjor said, "You do not need intimidating looks to be fearsome."

Adam sighed, and he said, "If you say so."

Rocky asked, "So, when do we test out the new zords?"

Tommy said, "That will be tomorrow, Rocky. I'm exhausted."

Katherine said, "Me too. My body hurts every time I move. No way am I morphing just yet."

Ninjor said, "I agree fully. Rest well tonight, Rangers."

The next day, Tommy's team of Rangers woke up feeling refreshed. They left the temple grounds, and they saw the Tenga Warriors waiting for them.

Tommy said, "Let's go, Rangers! Let's crush them!"

The six Ninja Rangers morphed, and they leaped into battle. The Tenga Warriors rushed in, thinking that it would be an easy fight. The Rangers quickly proved them wrong. The area just outside the temple grounds became a flurry of arms, legs, and flying bodies. Tommy and the other Rangers quickly punched, kicked, and jumped around, giving the Tenga Warriors no chance to attack. The Tenga Warriors quickly ran off, wishing to escape from the Ninja Rangers.

Katherine yelled, "How does it feel to be on the losing side, huh!?"

Matthew said, "We did it!"

Ninjor walked out and said, "Congratulations, Rangers. You have mastered your power. Wield it well, and it will protect you."

Tommy said, "Thank you for everything."

The Rangers left for Angel Grove, and Ninjor went back to the temple. None of them saw the Vampirus' egg hatching.

At Angel Grove, Kimberly was talking to her uncle, Steve. Steve listened intently as Kimberly talked about her mom's decision.

Kimberly cried, "I don't know what to do! I don't want to go to France!"

Steve said, "Helen is… easily blinded by love. She doesn't see the effect her decision has on you."

Kimberly said, "Nope, not at all. It's all about her precious fiance and what he wants. I don't want to leave Tommy or my friends!"

Steve said, "You won't have to. You can live with me or your dad."

Kimberly said, "Mom has legal and physical custody. Dad would break the law if I moved in with him."

Steve said, "You're right. Well, I believe this is the time to take legal action."

Steve pulled out his cellphone, and he called Kimberly's dad.

Steve said, "Hi Roger, Kimberly has something she wants to share with you."

Steve handed Kimberly the phone, and Kimberly told her dad what her mom had said.

Roger yelled, "Helen wants to do what!? She wants to go to France!?"

Kimberly said, "Yep."

Roger said, "But you have a life here! You have friends! You have that wonderful boyfriend, Tommy!"

Kimberly said, "Yep. And that doesn't matter to Mom."

Roger said, "Oh, I am going to contact my attorney. I am going to take your mother to court. I won't stand by and let your mother take you from everything you have ever known!"

Kimberly smiled, and she said, "Thanks, Dad."

Roger said, "Anything for my little girl. I love you."

Kimberly said, "I love you too, Dad."

Kimberly hung up, and she handed the phone to Steve. It surprised her to see Steve smiling.

Steve said, "Your mom is an idiot with love. She has been that way since she was your age, and she is still that way now. I am thrilled knowing that she will get torn apart in court by your father's lawyer, and that her lawyer will also yell at her. The only thing left to make it perfect is if the Power Rangers themselves yell at her!"

Kimberly couldn't help but smile as well. She knew Zordon wouldn't approve, but she did like the idea of her and her friends morphing just to yell at her mom.

Steve said, "Oh, I suggest getting back to your therapist. Your therapist can write a letter to the court explaining what she has observed."

Kimberly said, "Thanks. I'm planning on returning to therapy, anyway. This was… emotional."

Kimberly's communicator beeped, and she said, "Oh, sorry, I gotta take this!"

Kimberly walked off to a private spot, and she asked, "Zordon, what is it?"

Zordon said, "We saw the conversation on the Viewing Globe. I want to remind you we are here if you need to talk."

Kimberly said, "Thank you, Zordon."

Zordon said, "I also want to let you know that Rito Revolto has just arrived at Angel Grove."

Kimberly said, "On it. I'm on my way."

Kimberly morphed, and she teleported to Jason, Zack, Trini, and Billy. The five of them stood on top of a building, and they saw Rito Revolto destroying another building.

Kimberly yelled, "Let's save Angel Grove! We need Thunder Megazord power, now!"

The ground rumbled as the Thunder Megazord assembled. The five Rangers jumped into the cockpit, and they turned to face Rito Revolto.

Billy said, "Hey, we have new Zords coming in!"

Jason looked around, and he saw six Ninjazords arriving at the battle.

Rocky said, "I hope you weren't planning on fighting without us!"

Jason said, "Not a chance! I'm glad you came back here!"

Rito Revolto laughed, and he said, "I am still going to crush you like bugs!"

The six Ninjazords bolted forward, and they started hitting and shooting Rito Revolto. Jason marveled at how quickly the Ninjazords moved. Every time Rito Revolto turned to face one of the Ninjazords, another Ninjazord would take Rito Revolto by surprise.

Zack said, "Man, I'm glad they are on our side!"

Jason said, "So am I! Let's go!"

The Thunder Megazord walked towards Rito Revolto to join the fray. It took out its sword, and it swung at Rito Revolto. Rito Revolto cried out in pain, and he stumbled backward. He took out his flamethrower, and he sprayed the Ninjazords with it.

Tommy yelled, "We gotta form the Ninja Megafalconzord!"

Zack cried, "Ninja Megafalconzord!?"

The six Ninjazords all jumped into the air, and they formed the Ninja Megafalconzord. It landed next to the Thunder Megazord, and the two Megazords turned to face Rito Revolto. The Ninja Megafalconzord jumped into the air and it delivered two punches to Rito Revolto's face. Rito Revolto cried out in pain each time, and he stumbled backward. The two Megazords got ready to perform their final moves. Rito Revolto recognized what was about to happen, and he slipped away before the two Megazords could attack him.

Tommy cheered, "Yeah! That's what we were talking about!"

The rest of the Rangers cheered, and the two Megazords shook hands.

Zordon said, "Congratulations Rangers, you have now mastered the Ninja Megafalconzord."

Tommy said, "Thanks Zordon."

Kimberly said, "Now that Angel Grove is safe for a moment, I need to tell you all about something very important. Meet me at the Command Center."

Tommy said, "Roger that."

The Rangers all teleported back to the Command Center. They demorphed, and Kimberly explained what was happening with her mom. She also told them about the conversation she had with her uncle.

Tommy walked over to Kimberly and hugged her. He said, "Kim, I'm so sorry!"

Kimberly said, "Thank you. It's just hard when Mom doesn't seem to care about how I feel. I have a life here. I can't just leave!"

Trini said, "If we are lucky, your dad will get custody of you."

Aisha said, "If that fails, you can stay with one of us after your mom leaves."

Kimberly sighed, and she said, "I would like to stay with one of you over the summer, actually. I've been through this before, when my parents fought over custody during their divorce."

Trini nodded, and she said, "You are more than welcome to stay with me."

The other Rangers chimed in too, stating that Kimberly can also stay with them. Kimberly smiled, and she hugged the Rangers. She said, "Thank you, you are all amazing friends. I love you all."

The alarm suddenly went off, grabbing the Rangers' attention.

Alpha 5 cried, "Ay ay ay, there is another monster attack!"

Zordon said, "It isn't in Angel Grove this time. It's Vampirus, and it's currently at the Temple of Power. It's trying to steal its power."

Kimberly said, "Of course, there's another monster fight."

Tommy said, "No rest for the wicked. It's Morphin Time!"

The Rangers morphed, and they entered the Thunderzord and Ninja Megafalconzord. The two Megazords arrived at the temple, and they saw Vampirus and Ninjor standing outside of the temple. Vampirus had just grown to a massive size, and Ninjor quickly made himself larger. The two Megazords landed by Ninjor, and they both gave Ninjor a nod of support.

Vampirus yelled, "I will crush you all!"

Ninjor turned into Battle Mode, and he attacked Vampirus. Vampirus screamed in pain, and he stumbled backward. The two Megazords unleashed their finishing moves on Vampirus, defeating him. The Rangers all cheered again, and Ninjor thanked them.

Ninjor said, "Thanks for the assist." He turned to the Thunder Megazord and asked, "And who are you?"

Jason said, "We're Tommy's friends. You can trust us."

Ninjor said, "Good, I'm happy to hear that. If you ever need help, just call and I will come to your aid."

Tommy said, "Thank you. We appreciate that."

The next day, the Rangers were waiting for Bulk and Skull's graduation into officers of the Angel Grove Junior Police Patrol. Adam heard Sarah call for him, and he turned to her.

Sarah said, "Adam, we need to talk."

Zack was sitting next to Adam, and he made a face. He patted Adam on the back, and he whispered, "I'm here for you, man."

Adam walked to a private spot with Sarah and asked, "What's wrong?"

Sarah said, "What's wrong? I was about to ask you that! You keep disappearing on me with no explanation!"

Adam said, "I'm sorry, I can't tell you why I keep disappearing."

Sarah snapped, "Why not!? Why can't you just talk to me!?"

Adam opened his mouth, but Sarah stopped him. She yelled, "I am done with your excuses! We are over, Adam!"

Adam recoiled as if in pain. Sarah turned around and walked away from him. Adam felt his heart sinking, and he sat back down next to Zack.

Zack asked, "Did she break up with you?"

Adam just said, "Yep."

Zack said, "Ouch. I created a playlist after Angela dumped me. I can show you that playlist later."

Adam said, "I would like that."

The two Rangers got quiet when they saw a police officer walk onto the stage.

The officer said, "I am Lt. Stone of the Angel Grove Police Department. I want to welcome you all to the new officers in the Angel Grove Junior Police Patrol! They will help make Angel Grove a safer place!"

Everyone in the audience stood up and cheered. It surprised the Rangers to see Bulk and Skull among the graduates. Bulk and Skull stood up with the graduating cadets, but they didn't do so gracefully. The two of them bumped into each other, and they ended up bumping into the other cadets. That set off a chain reaction of cadets bumping into each other. The Rangers all laughed at Bulk and Skull's clumsiness.

Adam whispered to Zack, "Okay, I feel better now. It still stings, but I feel better, anyway."

A/N: I will do Kimberly's and Katherine's arc differently in this story. Kimberly will still go to the Pan Global Olympics, but she won't leave the team. The Olympics are only for a week or two, so I imagine Kimberly will be able to resume Ranger duties once they are done.
