The next morning, Leon and Sharon got up bright and early with their suitcases in tow. They see that Karen had already been awake and was on the couch with a cup of coffee in her hands. Leon went on ahead to load the suitcases in the car while Sharon greeted her sister.
"Suitcases are in the car. Best get a move on before the traffic gets congested. See you when we get back, Karen." Leon said while motioning Sharon to head out to the car.
"Bye, Sis. See you when we get back." Sharon said with a calm tone.
"Okay, have a wonderful time on your honeymoon you guys." Karen said as she waved to Sharon and Leon.
"We will." Sharon and Leon said before Leon started the car to leave the house.
Once they were out of Royal Woods, the sun had gotten to Leon and Sharon's eyes, so Sharon pulled out the sunglasses from the glove box. Then the rest of the ride up to Detroit Airport was smooth sailing for Leon and Sharon. After finding a parking spot in the parking garage is when Leon and Sharon went to the airport to check in for their flight and put their bags as carry-ons.
Since it was around an hour before their scheduled flight time and went through security with no problems, Leon and Sharon decided to get a quick breakfast to eat near the terminal. Sharon notices that Leon looked a little off.
"Leon what's wrong, you don't look like yourself?" Sharon said with concern.
"Oh, it's that I'm down because we forgot to say goodbye to Nicole this morning." Leon said with a calm tone.
"It's okay, darling. I told Karen before we left to tell Nicole that we love her, and we'll call her once we get to Hawaii." Sharon said while holding on Leon's hand.
"Thank you so much, honey. I love you. It's great to have a reliable person like your sister around." Leon said in response.
"Yeah. You might want to finish your drink before it goes bad." Sharon said after noticing the change in color of Leon's drink.
Leon took notice of this and wounded up taking two sips of his drink before throwing it in the trash. Sharon had a chuckle once she saw the look Leon had by the time he came back to the terminal area.
"That's the last time I'm ordering that kind of drink. Pluck." Leon said while feeling disgusted.
"Not the best smoothie you've had, darling." Sharon said with a smirk.
"Not even close, honey. I should have had what you ordered instead." Leon said in response.
"I had half of my food saved in case you were hungry later. Here if you want to take a bite of it go ahead." Sharon said with a smile.
Leon then took a bite of Sharon's breakfast and had a smile on his face realizing how much better it was than the smoothie he ordered. Then Sharon put the food back in her purse because she and Leon were about to board their flight. Once Leon and Sharon got in their seats for the flight, that was when the plane was about to take off from Detroit for the layover spot in Los Angeles.
Sharon holding on to Leon's hand, had a huge smile on her face while he repeated one back to her. Leon grabbed a book about Hawaii from Sharon's purse and took a look at it. Sharon noticed this and decided to look as well.
"Hmm…that's interesting. They got a couple of spas near the hotel and the beach is only a short walking distance. Isn't that unique, honey?" Leon said with a calm tone.
"Yeah, my love. I'm just imagining being pampered at a spa with you and taking a quality stroll down the beach." Sharon said with a sigh.
"Only a few more hours, my dear." Leon said once he put the book back in Sharon's purse.
"I know, darling. Can I ask you something?" Sharon said with a curious smile.
"Yes, Sharon. Is something on your mind?" Leon said with a calm tone.
"Do I get stressed out easily? Be honest with me." Sharon asked.
"Well, that is hard for me say, honey. Besides what made you think of something silly like that to say." Leon said in response.
"It was how I was feeling all day yesterday, but I never had the chance to confide in you my feelings about it, so I went to Karen and that's what she thought after explaining everything to her." Sharon said with a gloomy tone.
"Sharon, honey. I would have understood you and worked this out with you. I don't like to see you overstressed about anything because that worries me. To be honest, yesterday I had felt a similar way due to the everything that transpired so if that'll help you feel better." Leon said with a calm tone.
"You did?" Sharon said with a shocked face.
"Hmm-Hmm. I think it's just the past few weeks of nonstop planning got us tired and stressed out. By the time we come back from this honeymoon, everything will be back to normal with the exception of Karen staying with us for a while." Leon said with a smile.
"You're right, Leon." Sharon said in response.
Then Sharon looked out at the window seeing the sky that the airplane was flying over for a moment and put her head on Leon's shoulder before taking a nap. "We've a long day ahead of us. I don't blame you for taking a nap, honey. I'm incredibly happy that you're my wife and would not trade it for anything else in the world." Leon thought to himself while looking at Sharon.
An hour and a half passed before the plane intercom stated that the plane was approaching Los Angeles in the next few minutes. This woke Sharon up and Leon had a smile on his face once she looked at him.
"How was your nap?" Leon said with a smile.
"It was good, Leon. You didn't take one?" Sharon said after stretching her arms.
"Nah, I wasn't that tired to be honest. Oh, I think your breakfast is still in your purse if you want something to eat." Leon said in response.
"I think it is, but wait isn't it getting close to lunch time though." Sharon said with a calm tone.
"Oh shoot, you're right. But I'm uncertain if there's any good eating places near the terminal that we're supposed to head to next with the short time we have." Leon said in response.
"True, but it never hurts but to try since our next flight is the longest one we got, and it will be flown over the ocean." Sharon said with a calm tone.
"Yeah, oh we best get off now since it looks like we fully landed in LA." Leon said as he pointed out that the plane was in LAX.
Sharon and Leon got off the plane and saw that the next terminal they needed to go to was five spots down on the left. While venturing to the terminal, Leon pointed out a Subway restaurant to Sharon, so they stopped there to get lunch and went to the terminal to find a table to eat their lunch.
"Hmm…what a great idea for picking Subway for lunch, darling" Sharon said to take a bite of her sandwich.
"Thank you. I had read somewhere that Subway was one of the restaurants which is beneficial for people who are going through the same thing I am or as a diet helper." Leon said in response.
"Oh really, I'm impressed that you're following guidelines that the doctor gave you and ones I want to follow if I want to keep my athletic build." Sharon said with a smile.
"I suppose you could say that. You have a smudge right there…." Leon said right before noticing a stain on Sharon's cheek which he wiped off with a napkin.
"You get it." Sharon asked while she got nervous.
"Yes, honey. Calm yourself. It was a dressing stain that almost touched your lips." Leon said in response.
"Oh okay." Sharon said in response.
Leon ate only half of his sandwich before saving the rest for later, Sharon noticing this decided to do the same thing. Then it came time for Leon and Sharon to board their flight to Honolulu. Noticing that the seats were comfortable contrary to the last flight, Leon and Sharon began to unwind. The plane began to take off for Honolulu shortly thereafter.
Once the plane was above the ocean, Sharon was amazed by the view and pointed it out to Leon who was pleased to see his wife happy. After the stewardess gave them a complimentary drink, Leon and Sharon pulled out their leftover lunch to eat it. Upon finishing the rest of their lunch, Leon and Sharon started to feel full.
Leon got up to use the airplane lavatory while Sharon looked out at the window to see that the mainland of Hawaii was in sight. Once Leon returned to his seat, he can see the excited trance Sharon was in even after the plane's intercom stated that the plane would land in Honolulu momentarily. Then the plane began its landing procedure into Honolulu Airport. Upon the plane landing and stopping at a terminal, Leon and Sharon got off the plane to head to baggage claim to look for their suitcases. Leon went on to look for suitcases while Sharon waited for him. Sharon turned on her cellphone for the first time since she and Leon left Detroit.
Then Sharon noticed that it was taking a while for Leon to come back, so she decided to call Karen despite the five-hour time zone difference. It didn't take long for the call to get through.
"Hi, Sis. Just calling you to let you know that me and Leon landed in Honolulu, we should be at the hotel within the hour. So, how's Nicole been doing?" Sharon said.
"Hi, Shar. Glad that you two made it to your honeymoon safely. Nicole was good today, we tidied up the house a little bit, took her out to lunch and she's playing with her teddy bear right now. Want to talk to her?" Karen said in response.
"If she has a moment, Sis." Sharon said in response.
"Nicole…, I have someone here on the phone who wants to talk to you. Ok, here she is, Shar." Karen said in response.
"Hi, Nicole, sweetheart." Sharon said with a smile.
"Hi, Mommy. You and Daddy made it to your destination?" Nicole said in response.
"Yes, sweetheart. I hear you've been doing good for Aunt Karen today. I'm happy for you." Sharon said with a smile.
"Hmm-Hmm. You'll like how me, and Auntie Karen tidied up the house." Nicole gleefully responded.
"I'll bet, sweetheart. Hold on your dad is coming by me. Want to talk to him?" Sharon said before noticing Leon was standing next to her with the suitcases.
"Hmm-Hmm. I want to talk to Daddy." Nicole said in response.
Sharon handed Leon her phone explaining to him who was on the phone and he was thrilled to hear it. Then Sharon and Leon walked out of the airport with the suitcases in their hands, now looking for a shuttle which Sharon looked for that was related to the hotel they reserved. Meanwhile, Leon still had Sharon's phone and almost forgot the call was still on.
"Hi, sweetie." Leon said.
"Hi, Daddy. Guess what I was good for Auntie Karen today." Nicole said in response.
"That's wonderful, sweetie." Leon said with a calm tone.
"I love you and mommy. I'm about to go to bed." Nicole said in response.
"Okay, sweetie. I love you too. Let me talk to your aunt for a moment." Leon said in response.
"Hi, Leon. What's up?" Karen said in response.
"Karen, I think we will call only a couple of times while we're out here and definitely on the way back home. I'm glad that Nicole's doing good. We know that worries your sister if something bad happens to Nicole." Leon said in response.
"Yeah, Leon. That's why you are the most understanding brother-in-law that I know. Instead of calling two times, only on the day you guys come back. You and Sharon deserve this honeymoon to relax with no worries, have fun and more importantly be happy." Karen said with a calm tone.
"Thank you, Karen. I'll do that then; I better get going since your sister is waiting for me." Leon said to end the call.
Leon made it to the shuttle where Sharon had it saved for him to show up and he gave her the cellphone back to her. Sharon noticed the smile on Leon's face and had a curious look until they got done checking in at the hotel. Once they got settled in the hotel room, Leon noticed the look Sharon was giving him.
"What is it?" Leon said with a calm tone.
"You seemed to be happier than usual, Leon." Sharon said with a curious smile.
"I was thinking that our time here should be about fun and that it was deserved, honey." Leon said with a smile on his face.
"Yeah, that's true. Did you ask Karen about….?" Sharon said with a smile on her face.
"I did, Sharon. However, your sister told me not to worry about checking up there all the time because we're here to be happy and to relax. We've got this, ok." Leon said before kissing Sharon.
"Okay, I know that you and Karen are concerned about how I get at times. Don't think I ever notice, Leon." Sharon said with a smile on her face.
"I understand that, honey. It's just that when you get stressed or get uncertain about something you tend to not be yourself. That's what worries me and Karen." Leon said with a sigh.
"You're right, Leon. But I try not to worry about everything else, you know." Sharon said with a calm tone.
"I know that you don't, and I am grateful for that, honey." Leon said with a smile on his face.
"Thank you, Leon." Sharon said in response.
Leon proceeded to take a nap and Sharon could notice how worn out her husband was. So, she checked out the view of the ocean from the balcony of their hotel room. Then Sharon went back inside to change into her swimsuit with a shirt on top and sat on a chair in the room.
A half hour later, Leon woke up from his nap to see his wife sitting there in a different attire than before and recognized it. After stretching his body around, Leon looked at his wife who was almost dozing off.
"Psst. Sharon, want to walk around the beach?" Leon said after tapping Sharon on the leg.
"Yes, Leon. I'll wait for you to get ready." Sharon said with a smile.
Leon got up and went through his suitcase to find his swim trunks and suitable shirt; then upon finding those items Leon went into the bathroom to change. Once Leon and Sharon applied some sunscreen on themselves, they left the hotel room for the beach holding hands. While on the way to the beach, Leon and Sharon noticed a couple of spas on the way but were about to close for the day.
Upon stepping foot on the beach, Leon and Sharon felt the smoothness of the sand on their feet. They traversed the beach for a while before finding a spot to lay down the towels Sharon brought from the hotel room for them. After getting comfortable on the towels, Leon and Sharon looked out at the ocean view from beach before kissing each other.
"The view is very beautiful, honey." Leon said with a smile on his face.
"It sure is, my love." Sharon said in response.
"Ooh look at that. Here comes a small wave." Leon said as he pointed out the wave cycle of the ocean.
"I hope it doesn't come up by us." Sharon said with a nervous feeling.
"It shouldn't, honey. Can I tell you something, Hawaii isn't the first island that I've ever been to?" Leon said in response.
"It isn't, darling. I always thought with your career they had kept you in mainland countries and such." Sharon said with a startled look.
"Not quite, I used to travel with some of my old friends to Japan for business. Whenever we flew near the country we used to see how insane the waves were. Oh, but anyway the way Japan handles the wrestling world is way different than here in the US. Only did it twice when ever I was first starting out as a wrestler when that kind of thing was still ok with the company I eventually worked for." Leon said with honesty.
"Oh okay. That's remarkably interesting. If you're telling me something new about you, well did you know the reason that I am a health nut is because of my athleticism." Sharon said with a smile on her face.
"Hmm…I never knew that, but it makes sense after you decided to join me on the diet and exercise regime a while back. Were you that why when you were younger or something, Sharon?" Leon said with curiosity.
"Well, it definitely does but Karen sometimes forgets about that fact like yesterday when we had those smoothies is an example of me reminding her of that. Anyway, where was I oh yeah, it must have been something I was born with to think about it. I was an all-round athlete in high school, wanted to become a sports doctor before realizing the schooling it requires so that's why I went down the path I did. But I wouldn't change it for the world since it led me to you and becoming a mom." Sharon said with a calm tone.
"Sharon, it's never too late for anything. I know of another profession that could suit you well, a personal trainer. Their job is similar to your personality don't you see you've had the talent inside of you all along." Leon said before noticing the tears Sharon was giving him.
"Leon…. how can I ever thank you enough?" Sharon said while embracing Leon.
"Kiss me, Shar-bear." Leon said with a smile on his face.
"Was that?.." Sharon said after kissing Leon.
"Yes, that's my special nickname for you. Is it okay?" Leon said in response.
"Yes, I love it." Sharon answered.
Sharon looked at Leon with a smile on her face and noticed that he was looking at his gut.
"Hungry, darling?" Sharon said with a curious smile.
"A little bit, dear. But I really feel like don't getting up at this moment." Leon answered.
"I know, I'm the same way too." Sharon said with a compassionate tone.
Then the waves started to get closer to the towels, Leon and Sharon picked them up and began to leave the beach. However, another wave came in and drenched both Leon and Sharon. Looking at each other Leon and Sharon felt a bit cold from the ocean water that came in and tried to take their time back to the hotel.
"gosh, I didn't see that wave coming. Oh, wonderful, it got my shirt wet. I hope no one sees me." Sharon said in an anxious tone.
"Here has my towel, I am mostly dry now, Sharon." Leon said as he put a towel on top of Sharon's shirt to help cover her.
"Thank you, darling." Sharon said with her mood back to normal.
Once they got back to the hotel room, Leon and Sharon changed back into their previous clothes while letting the swimwear dry out in the bathroom. Leon then looked up the hotel information to see that the restaurant inside the hotel was about to open up soon and looked at his wife with a smile on his face.
"Shar-bear?" Leon said with a smile.
"Yes, darling." Sharon replied.
"Want to try the restaurant that's in the hotel for dinner?" Leon said with a calm tone.
"I like that." Sharon answered with a smile on her face.
Leon and Sharon relaxed in the hotel room for a while before heading down to the main floor where the restaurant was. Upon entering the restaurant, Leon and Sharon got balcony seats. After placing their order, Leon and Sharon noticed that one of locals came up to them to give them a luau and flower prospectively. Upon thanking the local, Leon then looked at Sharon with an unforgettable thought on his face.
"You know what I am thinking honey." Leon said with a smile.
"What?" Sharon said with a nervous feeling.
"I was thinking that we should give Nicole one of these luaus as a gift. I mean the local gave us a few too many wouldn't you agree." Leon said in response.
"Oh, yeah of course, darling." Sharon answered with a sigh.
"I'm glad that you agreed, besides, you weren't thinking anything else." Leon said with a smirk.
"Well, I thought you were referring to…," Sharon said with a dead beat look on her face.
"Sharon Michelle, not here. Good gracious. Thinking dirty things." Leon said with a sigh.
"I couldn't help it, Leon." Sharon said in response.
"It's okay, Shar-bear. I understand but can I ask you something." Leon said in response.
"Yeah." Sharon said with a calm tone.
"I was thinking back to that time when Nicole asked us about wanting another sibling. I'm having second thoughts about that." Leon said with a sigh.
"You've been thinking about that too. I was meaning to talk to you about it sometime and was wondering your opinion on something." Sharon said in response.
"Opinion on what, honey?" Leon asked out of curiosity.
"I've been thinking about getting a hysterectomy. I don't know if I told you this but when I gave birth to Nicole I had severe complications that I almost didn't make it. Would you support me with my decision on getting the hysterectomy?" Sharon said with a sigh.
"Of course, Sharon. I will always support you because that's how much I love you no matter what comes our way. We will contact the doctor once we get back to things setup." Leon answered boldly.
"Thank you, darling. I appreciate it." Sharon said with a smile.
"Of course, Shar-bear. Look our food's here." Leon said with a smile on his face.
Once the food came to the table, Leon and Sharon enjoyed their dinner in solidarity. After eating dinner, Leon and Sharon went back to the hotel room to unwind for the rest of the night. Sharon looked at Leon with a precarious look on her face which caught his attention.
"Leon, you proud of me for my decision earlier?" Sharon said.
"Most certainly, Sharon." Leon said in response.
"Leon, after the spa tomorrow, what do you want to do?" Sharon asked out of curiosity.
"Hmm…good question. It depends on what time we get out of the spa. Maybe find some gift shops and possibly find spots for us to take photos." Leon answered boldly.
"I like the sound of that, Leon." Sharon answered.
