The following morning, Leon woke up and headed downstairs to start up the coffee maker. While preparing the coffee maker, Leon noticed that Athena was awake and was in the living room, so he motioned for her to come by him.
"Did you sleep okay, Teena?" Leon said once Athena came.
"Yeah, Leon. I already talked to my mom this morning and she told me her and Oje were going to do some sightseeing today. Also, I told her that I was doing okay, and I planned on that promised visit to see them before they leave in a couple of days." Athena said in response.
"That's good, Teena. Umm there is something I needed to tell you and it's about what I said yesterday." Leon said with a calm tone.
"Yeah, I was meaning to ask you about that, Leon." Athena said with a calm tone.
"Listen, Teena. I should have had been more concise about what I wanted to say yesterday. I'm not going to be upset with you if you ask my wife or her sister for advice. There are some things that I don't even understand but they might." Leon said with a smile.
"You understand what I was going to ask, so your wife told you. Thank you for being understanding, Leon." Athena said in response.
"Yeah, she told me last night before I went down memory lane with some stories you mentioned, Teena." Leon said after pouring a cup of coffee.
"Hmm…how did she like the tales?" Athena said in response.
"Ehh…she thought the one involving your grandfather was funny but the other one was up in the air. But to make it up to her, since I knew what was going on I had to mention the Houston rib your dad pulled on me. One of the unexpected pranks of your dad's that he pulled on me." Leon said with honesty.
"The police rib. So, it was true I thought it was a rumor for years." Athena said in response.
"Nope, it did happen. Ask your mom because she was the first person I spoke to about it after that happened." Leon said in response.
"Okay, Leon." Athena said in reply.
"Those are the dangerous kinds of pranks you have to watch out for. I mean your dad did it to another wrestler but that was when he rode with your uncle Davey and Lex Luger. You're probably familiar with the story but it's the same setup that happened to me." Leon said in response.
"Interesting. Other than that, feeling better today so far?" Athena said in response.
"Yes, I am a bit better than yesterday. I think it was a stressful day yesterday is what got to me." Leon said with a half cup of coffee in hand.
"Yeah, hmm…sounds like somebody's stirring out of bed." Athena said as she heard someone waking up.
Then Leon and Athena went to the living room to sit down. A few seconds later, Leon notices Sharon coming downstairs and gives her a morning kiss.
"Morning, honey. I got coffee made if you want some." Leon said with a smile.
"Morning, darling. Morning, Athena." Sharon said as she was about to make a cup of coffee and head to the living room.
"Morning, Sharon." Athena said in response.
"I got a message from Rita saying if tomorrow works for you for taking the twins to Dairyland since their family is going out of town this weekend including the twins." Sharon said in a groggy voice.
"I'm okay with that tell her, honey." Leon said in response.
Sharon sent a reply message to Rita with Leon's statement and immediately got an okay response.
"I forgot already which nieces of yours are the twins that you're planning on spending the day with tomorrow, Leon." Athena said with curiosity.
"Lana and Lola. Lana's the one who wears overalls, a red cap, and carries a frog with her. Lola on the other hand is the one that dresses like a princess with a tiara on her head." Leon said with honesty.
"Oh, okay now I figured it out. I just couldn't remember who they were from all the people that were at the park yesterday you wanted me to meet." Athena said in reply.
"I understand, Teena. Crowded places are not good places for proper introductions, you know." Leon said with honesty.
"That's for sure." Sharon said in response.
"So, is this Dairyland like a theme park or something?" Athena said with curiosity.
"I think so. My nieces and nephew like going there, I know it sounds weird but hey at least it could out beat the theme park that's in Hershey, Pennsylvania. Only had to say that once because they're both food themed parks." Leon said with a calm tone.
Sharon had to smirk at the last part of Leon's statement and Leon laughed as well. Then Sharon notices that Karen was coming downstairs with Nicole in tow.
"Morning, Mommy and Daddy." Nicole said as she rushed to her parents.
"Morning, sweetie. Did you get a good night's sleep?" Leon said with curiosity.
"I sure did, Daddy." Nicole said in response.
"Nicole, sweetheart. What would you like for breakfast?" Sharon asked out of curiosity.
"Cereal, Mommy." Nicole answered boldly.
"Okay." Sharon said with a smile as she went to the kitchen to fix Nicole's breakfast.
Leon then went outside to check on the mail and saw that there wasn't any and walked to the backyard. Right as he was about to sit down on a patio chair, Leon notices that Nicole came outside with her bowl of cereal and sat down in the chair next to her dad.
"Hi, sweetie. What kind of cereal did your mom pick out for you today?" Leon said with a smile.
"Raisin Bran, Daddy. "Nicole answered.
"Oh, that used to be one of my favorite cereals when I was about your age. It is a good cereal; has everything you need to keep your body healthy." Leon said with a smile.
"Daddy?" Nicole said with curiosity.
"Yes, sweetie." Leon said in response.
"I noticed a picture that Miss Athena has, and it was of you holding her. She told me the tale behind the photo and compared it to how you're raising me, Daddy." Nicole said with curiosity.
"Oh, sweetie. From what Athena is telling you is true to an extent but far from it. You see the way your mom and I are trying to raise you is not far off. Because we know you're special and we love you very much that I wouldn't want anything bad happen to you." Leon said while rubbing Nicole's hair.
"Okay, Daddy." Nicole said in response.
Nicole then proceeded to finish eating her breakfast while Leon noticed that Sharon came outside to join them.
"I was wondering where you went off to. Keeping your dad company, that's nice of you, sweetheart." Sharon said to Nicole.
"She's been very good, honey." Leon said in response.
"I can tell easily, darling. So, I brought out a fruit bowl for you if you'd want that for breakfast." Sharon said in response.
"I'm okay with that. Nicole, sweetie, can you go inside for a moment?" Leon said as he motioned Nicole to head back in the house.
Nicole nodded with a smile as she carried her bowl and headed back into the kitchen. Leon had taken a bite of his fruit bowl before noticing that Sharon brought one out for herself.
"You okay, darling. Something's got you adrift?" Sharon said with a calm tone.
"Oh, I just assured to Nicole about the way we're raising her after she saw an old photo of me holding Teena when I used to babysit her last night and asking her about it. Nothing too serious but I got it taken care of, honey." Leon said with honesty.
"Okay, I thought it was something else but I'm glad you took care of it right away before it caused you any stress like yesterday." Sharon said in response.
"Yeah that's for sure. That's a road I don't want to go down again anytime soon. Believe me." Leon said with honesty.
"So, how do you like the fruit bowl?" Sharon asked out of curiosity.
"It's delicious, honey. Were these fruits the same ones that we got from the store?" Leon said with curiosity.
"Nope, darling. Karen and I had gone to the store yesterday before the party and I noticed the fruit bowls were on sale, so I had to get them. I mean our intent was to find the twins a birthday card, but I couldn't resist getting the fruit bowls." Sharon answered honestly.
"Oh, Shar-bear. That's okay. You know what that gives me an idea, I don't believe we've gone to the supermarket since we've returned from our honeymoon. You are thinking what I'm thinking." Leon said with a smile.
"Yeah, wait hold on your sister sent a message saying that she's heading to the supermarket and was wondering if we're going today. Well, I could tell her just give me a little while to get ready and I will ride with her up there. I mean wouldn't you think that will be a good idea, darling." Sharon said in response.
"Most certainly, Sharon. Tell her that and also try to take Nicole with you because I know she'll like an outing with you." Leon said with a smile.
"Wonderful, that sounds good." Sharon said in response.
Once Sharon sent a reply message to Rita stating that she was going with her on the supermarket trip and that Nicole was going with them, she went back inside to get ready and told Nicole to get ready. Then Sharon got an okay reply from Rita and that it'll be a little while before she can get them. After Sharon and Nicole were dressed up and ready, they headed downstairs to the living room where Karen and Athena were.
"Me and Nicole is about to head out to the store to get some groceries. Can you guys think of anything that we might need?" Sharon asked out of curiosity.
"Hmm.. I'll eat just about anything you guys can get." Athena said in reply.
"Well try to see if they got any low fat or fat free creamers, Shar. Other than that, you get what you think you and Leon are running out on." Karen said in response.
"Okay, I got both of those things down. Well, it looks like Leon's sister is here now to pick me and Nicole up now for the supermarket. If you guys still can think of anything else, I will have my phone on, and Leon is in the back if you're looking for him. Speaking of which. Nicole, sweetheart, head out and tell your aunt I'll be there in a second." Sharon said as she noticed Rita's pulling in the driveway.
Nicole went to Rita's van and told her aunt exactly what Sharon said for her to do, Rita understood and waited. Meanwhile, Sharon went to the backyard and seen that Leon dozed off, so she woke him.
"Okay, I'm heading out with Nicole and your sister. Karen and Athena are inside by the living room if you were looking for them, I told them you were out here. Also, I gave them instructions to like you, if you can think of anything else that we need while we're in the store, call or text me. Well, I better get going." Sharon said with a smile.
"Have a good time, honey. Love you." Leon said after kissing Sharon.
"Love you too." Sharon said as she went through the gate to get to the front of the house.
Upon entering the van, Sharon took a deep breath and double checked to see if Nicole had her seat belt on. Then after putting her seat belt on and seeing Nicole had her seat belt on, Sharon got comfortable before Rita started the van and backed out of the driveway.
"You guys seem to be a bit drained." Rita said out of curiosity.
"After everything that happened yesterday, Rita. We were in some degree tired out." Sharon said with a sigh.
"Yeah, the party was a handful especially afterwards. It took me and Lynn a while to clean up after everyone left. But I think it's not that you're referring to, it's my brother isn't it. How was he after my phone call with him last night?" Rita said in response.
"To be honest, Rita. I think Leon's been under a lot of stress lately and gets overwhelmed easily. He understands his situations well it's just that he's having a hard time letting those stressors not define him. It worries me because he got irritated for the first time in years and took it out on the wrong people. But so far today he's been doing a lot better, he's like his normal happy self. Wouldn't you think so, Nicole?" Sharon said in response.
"Yeah, Mommy. I know that Daddy was not like himself yesterday, but he did apologize though and is working hard to make it up for us." Nicole said in reply.
"That's true, sweetheart." Sharon said with a smile.
"So, Nicole. Whose birthday party did you like best yesterday, Lola's or Lana's? It'll be our secret between us." Rita asked out of curiosity.
"Hmm…I liked Lola's better because it was clean and setup more nicely. Also, the cake looked lovely and didn't look like it came from the trash. I know what you're thinking Mommy but it's true. I mean if Daddy would have seen the two cakes then he'd have made the same decision." Nicole said with honesty.
"Oh, okay. You got me there, sweetheart. I was leaning towards that way too." Sharon said in an enthusiastic way.
Rita then turned into the supermarket a few minutes later and was looking for a good spot to park the van. Sharon pointed out a spot that suited to Rita's needs. Then Rita, Sharon and Nicole all got out of the van before heading into the store. That's when Rita went her separate ways from Sharon and Nicole.
"Okay, Nicole. Want to go grab us a cart." Sharon said with a smile.
"Hmm-Hmm." Nicole said as she grabbed the nearest shopping cart.
"Alright, let's see. I know Miss Athena and your aunt Karen wasn't much help in getting me a start on a list going. Knowing your dad, he'll probably won't be picky on what we get. So, it's all down on to us, sweetheart. Can you handle this?" Sharon said while pushing the cart and rubbing Nicole's hair at the same time.
"I'm okay with that Mommy." Nicole said with a smile.
"Great. Let's see we're at produce. So, try to grab the fruits and vegetables your dad likes that don't look bad. While I get some for me and the others." Sharon said while handing Nicole a produce bag.
"Okay, I can do that no problem." Nicole said as she began sorting through fruits and vegetables that she knows Leon likes.
Sharon while looking at the other produce notices how happy Nicole is and filled up a bag before putting it in the cart. Then Nicole came back with a produce bag and Sharon looked inside and she was happy and put it in the cart.
"Good job, sweetheart. Your dad will love the fruits and vegetables you picked out for him. Come along. Let's see….." Sharon said in an enthusiastic way.
"Here you go, Mommy. I noticed that we were almost out of bread, so I grabbed a couple of loaves." Nicole said as she placed some bread in the cart.
"Okay, that takes care of the bread. Oh, I'll grab a couple of boxes of turkey bacon in case your dad decides to cook it up one day. Sheesh, the price of beef is gone up a bit." Sharon said in response.
"Mommy I think your phone is going off." Nicole said as she heard a vibrant sound coming from Sharon's purse.
"It sure is. Thanks for telling me, sweetheart." Sharon said as she pulled out her phone.
Sharon got a message from Leon. "Hi, honey. Hope everything's going well. I just wanted to check in on you guys." The message stated. "We're doing good, darling. The price of beef up here is ridiculous so that's why I chose not to get ground beef this time. But other than that, we're about halfway through shopping so it'll be a while before we come back. Nicole's been a wonderful helper." Sharon stated in response. "It's okay about the beef situation, honey. I am happy that Nicole's helping you out. Now that I think about it umm.., could you check to see if they have any whole wheat pasta it doesn't matter on the noodles." Leon stated in reply. "I can do that for you, my love. I know basically everything else that we need from here. Is there any thing else you wanted to talk to me about?" Sharon said in reply. "Not that I can think of at the moment. I'll see you guys when you get home. Love you, honey." Leon said in reply. "Love you too, darling." Sharon said in response before putting her phone away.
"Was that?" Nicole asked out of curiosity.
"Yes, it was your dad. He was checking in on us and wanted us to see if there was any whole wheat pasta." Sharon said in response.
"Mommy, I think they do because we just passed the aisle where they have the pasta noodles while you were texting, and I saw some whole wheat pasta on the shelf." Nicole said with curiosity.
"Okay, let's check out and see what kind of noodles they have because your dad didn't have any preference on a specific noodle just as long as they were whole wheat." Sharon said that once she and Nicole entered the pasta aisle.
"Hmmm…., what about this one, Mommy? I can't pronounce it, but it reads mostaccioli." Nicole said as she pointed out the box of noodles to Sharon.
"Sounds good, sweetheart. Grab a couple of boxes." Sharon said in response.
"Wow, Mommy. How much do we have left?" Nicole said upon looking at the size of the cart.
"Well, we've got to get milk for your cereal and such, coffee creamer that your aunt Karen wanted me to get, eggs, tea bags, sugar, coffee can, and coffee filters. I mean other than that we're pretty much stocked up on." Sharon said in response.
"Hmm…that's good, Mommy." Nicole said in response.
Then the rest of Sharon and Nicole's supermarket excursion was a simple breeze since the remaining items they were looking for were in close proximity of each other. By the time they had gotten to the check out line, Sharon and Nicole noticed that Rita was still shopping.
"Can you go find your aunt and tell her that we're done? Also, sweetheart, tell her that we will wait on her and take as much time as she needs to." Sharon said that in a calm way.
"I can do that for you, Mommy. I'll be right back." Nicole said as she started to look for Rita.
It didn't take long for Nicole to find Rita as she was in the canned food aisle.
"Aunt Rita, my mom wanted to tell you that me and her got done with our shopping. Don't worry about rushing because of us we're not in a hurry. That's all she wanted me to you." Nicole said with honesty.
"Thank you, Nicole. Tell your mom that I shouldn't have that much left to do anyways before I head to the check out line." Rita said to Nicole before she went back to Sharon.
Then Nicole found Sharon sitting on a bench near the entrance to the supermarket with the cart full of now paid items in tow.
"So, what did your aunt say about my message?" Sharon said once Nicole sat down.
"She thanked me for telling her that and wanted to tell you that she doesn't have much left to do in her shopping." Nicole said with honesty.
"You know something, Nicole." Sharon said in response.
"What's that, Mommy?" Nicole said with curiosity.
"I told your dad how great of some help you were to me and he was incredibly happy to hear that. You know I appreciated the help you gave me so far today, sweetheart. I'm immensely proud of you." Sharon said in a reassuring way.
"Thank you, Mommy." Nicole said in response.
"You know I was exactly about your age when your Nana first started taking me on her grocery shopping excursions. It was only me and her while your Papa had to stay at home with your Aunt Karen because she wasn't that big into shopping." Sharon said in a calm tone.
"How did that experience turn out, Mommy?" Nicole asked out of curiosity.
"Oh, it was one of the best experiences in my life, sweetheart. Your Nana let me help her every way possible and taught me the rules of shopping. After we got home that day your Papa knew just by looking at me at how happy I was that I got experience the world of shopping and learned from your Nana that almost every time when I was growing up he always let me go with her to do shopping." Sharon said with a smile.
"You think that will happen to me some day, Mommy." Nicole said with curiosity.
"Maybe, sweetheart. It's just up to your father." Sharon said in response.
"I know, Mommy. It feels like I learned a lot today from spending time with you." Nicole said with honesty.
"You really think so?" Sharon said upon looking at Nicole.
"Hmm-Hmm. I wish we had days like this you know." Nicole said in response.
"Me too, sweetheart." Sharon said as she was taken back by Nicole's words.
Then Nicole pointed out to her mother that Rita was at the check out line, this got Sharon back into reality. Once Rita paid for her groceries is when Sharon and Nicole followed her with their cart back to the van.
"Okay, where do you want me to put the things in my cart?" Sharon said with concern.
"In the middle seats will be fine, Sharon. Since you guys don't have much to put in here." Rita said in response.
Then Sharon and Nicole placed their groceries in the middle of the van before Nicole got into the vehicle. Once all of the groceries were placed in the van, Rita and Sharon got inside the van before heading home.
"Can you believe the price of beef has gone up; I was thinking about getting a thing of ground beef but after seeing the prices I said forget it." Sharon said with a sigh.
"Yeah, I know, and Lynn uses it for about the majority of his recipes. He's going to be upset with me when he finds out that I had to spend over budget because of it." Rita said in response.
"Oh my, Rita. Well, I hope this is temporary." Sharon said thinking optimistically.
"Yeah you and me both. Sorry Nicole if we're boring you with ranting up here." Rita said.
"Oh, that's okay, Aunt Rita. I'm used to it from hearing everything that my cousins do it's nothing new to me." Nicole said with honesty.
"You do have a point there, Nicole. My kids sure do like to vent out their problems to anyone and horseplay every time you come over." Rita said in response.
"Hmm…, at least I know why you get worn-out easy after you visit them. Isn't that right, sweetheart?" Sharon said to Nicole.
"Yes, but it's that I don't have the kind of energy that they do though. I mean it's hard to keep up with them unless if you play a board or card game with them." Nicole said in response.
"That's true and it took me a while to notice it on a day that Leon dropped Nicole off for her to spend time with my kids. It was kind of odd until Lori had made Nicole feel included with the idea of board games, but she had to tell Lynn Jr though to not be a showoff. I guess after that they all get along with each other now." Rita said in response.
"I'm glad that they're including her in things." Sharon said in response.
"I miss Lori being around though….." Nicole said with a sad face.
"I know you do, Nicole. So does your Uncle Lynn even though he doesn't want to admit it, but he is sad that Lori's not here too." Rita said in a reassuring way.
"You know what sweetheart. How about in a short while we'll try to call Lori would you like that?" Sharon said in a calm tone.
"Yeah I'd like that, Mommy." Nicole said in response.
"You're in luck because she's got nothing going on today because I was talking to her while we were in the store. She wouldn't mind hearing from you at all." Rita said right before she turned the van into Sharon and Nicole's driveway.
Once the van was parked in the driveway, Sharon notices that Leon was coming out to help but she motioned him that the bags were in the middle seats. Nicole handed a couple of bags to her dad before she got a couple of bags and got out of the van. Sharon then got out and grabbed the last two bags from the middle of the van before Leon came back out to shut the door, she went inside while he walked over to the driver's side to talk to Rita.
"Hi, Sis. I appreciate you doing this for us, and I thank you for that." Leon said with a calm tone.
"No problem, Leon. Sharon and Nicole had a great time from what it looked like. You're proud of them aren't you, little brother." Rita said with a smile.
"Yes I am, Rita. It was something that I had long hoped for is to see Sharon and Nicole bond over something. Well from smelling it, I know you have a lot of groceries to put up and such. So, I'll let you go. Talk to you later and tell everyone I said hi." Leon said before he waved goodbye to Rita.
"Okay I will." Rita said as she backed out of Leon and Sharon's driveway
Leon went back inside to see that most of the groceries were put up except for one bag. Seeing that Sharon and Nicole were in the dining room with Karen and Athena, Leon decided to take a look at the bag that was left out.
"Hmm….it looks like fresh batches of my favorite fruits and vegetables. Someone knew which ones were my exact favorite. Did you pick them completely fresh, honey?" Leon said with curiosity.
"No, darling. Nicole picked them out." Sharon said in response.
"Nicole, sweetie. I'm so proud of you. How did you know which exact fruits and vegetables were my favorite?" Leon said with a curious smile.
"Aunt Rita told me a couple of them and some you had laying out here, Daddy." Nicole said in response.
"You did very well, sweetie." Leon said as he put the fruits and vegetables away.
"Thank you Daddy." Nicole said in response before following Sharon outside to the backyard.
"Wondering what that's all about." Leon said to Karen and Athena who had confused looks on their faces.
"I don't know beats me, Leon." Karen said in response.
Then Leon took another look at the backyard to see that Sharon had her phone out and Nicole was right by her, that's when he realized what was going on.
"Oh, I understand what's going on now. They're doing a FaceTime call outside." Leon said with a calm tone.
"Okay but with whom." Karen said in response.
"My oldest niece Lori. She's back at her campus since the wedding was done with. I think very recently Nicole has become close with Lori. Based on what my sister told me a while back, Lori had confided in her that Nicole was grateful for letting her be involved in activities like board or card games with my nieces and nephew. I mean she was generous enough to help Nicole out and I believe they truly trust each other." Leon said in response.
"That's very thoughtful and nice to have family like that." Athena said in reply.
"Most certainly, Teena. You should know that since I've known your dad's family since I was 18." Leon said with a smirk.
"Well, you do have a point there, Leon." Athena said in response.
Then Sharon and Nicole came inside to see that Leon walked into the kitchen getting ready to prepare lunch. So, Sharon sat in the dining room with Karen and Athena while Nicole went to the kitchen where Leon was at.
"Hi, sweetie. You want to be my little helper with lunch today." Leon said with a smile.
"Hmm-Hmm. I already washed my hands before coming here." Nicole said in response.
"That's my girl. Remembering the most important thing before handling food is personal hygiene." Leon said with a raised thumb up
"I got to talk to Lori on FaceTime, I feel all happy Daddy." Nicole said with a smile.
"That's wonderful, sweetie. I knew that's what you and your mom were doing out there. I'm so happy that you're bonding with one of your cousins. Your aunt was telling me all about it a while back and she's proud of you just like I am." Leon said while cutting up a tomato.
"Thank you Daddy. So where are the tomatoes you are cutting up going to?" Nicole said with curiosity.
"Well, sweetie these tomatoes are going to be a part of the salad so I'll need a bowl to put the chopped tomatoes in if you can get it for me." Leon said in response.
"Okay, Daddy. Here you go a bowl for the tomatoes." Nicole said as she placed the bowl near Leon's station.
"Alright, sweetie. Can you grab the chicken that is in the fridge and bring it to me?" Leon said with a smile.
"Yes, Daddy. The one that says boneless chicken breast." Nicole said as she had the package of chicken meat in her hand.
"Yes, that's the one, sweetie. I'll tell you what I am making for lunch since you are my little helper and keep it a secret between us, okay." Leon said with honesty.
"Okay, Daddy." Nicole said quietly.
"I'm making a chicken salad, it's a long forgotten favorite food of your mom's but she doesn't know that I still remember that it's one of her favorites." Leon said with a smile on his face and quiet voice.
"That's awesome Daddy. Umm, when do you want me to get the lettuce out or do you want me to set the table?" Nicole asked out of curiosity.
"I appreciate all the help you've provided for me, sweetie. The only thing I have left for you to do is set the table. A tip that I always use when setting the table is look at how many people is in the room and put each kind of silverware out because you never know if you need to use them all. Even though some people think it's a waste of dishes but it's to help encourage table manners." Leon said in response.
"Okay, Daddy. Thank you for the advice. If it's a salad, do I put out bowls or plates?" Nicole asked out of curiosity.
"Bowls, sweetie." Leon said upon rubbing Nicole's head.
Nicole then placed the bowls on the dining room table and sat down at her usual spot. Sharon looked at her daughter with a smile after looking at Leon for a quick second.
"Thank you, Nicole for helping your dad. He must have appreciated all of your help, sweetheart. Just like you were for me earlier today." Sharon said in an enthusiastic way.
"Thank you Mommy. Daddy told me how much he appreciated me helping him before he told me to put the bowls on the table." Nicole said in response.
"I'm glad to hear that, sweetheart." Sharon said in response.
Then Leon brought the chicken salad over on a big bowl and began serving it in each bowl Nicole laid out. Once Leon got done filling up each bowl with chicken salad, he put his preparation tools in the sink and cleaned them off. Nicole, Karen and Athena looked at Sharon whose mouth was watering after she saw what was in front of her.
"Shar, it's just food, you know." Karen said while trying to get Sharon out her drooling trance.
"I know. It's been so long since I've had a chicken salad and it's one of my favorites. My love knows how much I love chicken salad and….." Sharon said before going on and on.
"Mommy, you okay." Nicole said with curiosity.
"Oh, is she in one of her trances?" Leon said once he got to the dining room table.
"Yes." Karen answered boldly.
"Sharon, snap out of it. I know that I made one of your favorites, but it doesn't mean you have to share your fantasies of the food to everyone you know." Leon said with honesty.
"Oh, huh. Sorry if I rambled on you guys. Thanks for clearing sense to me darling." Sharon said in response.
"It's okay." Karen, Athena and Nicole said in unison.
After taking a couple of bites of the chicken salad, the girls all turned to Leon and nodded which signaled that it was good. Sometime later once everyone got done eating lunch, Karen decided to clean up the dishes while Nicole went up to her bedroom for a while. Then Leon was getting ready to head to the living room with Sharon before Athena wanted to have a word with him in the hallway and Sharon didn't mind.
"You okay, Teena?" Leon said with curiosity.
"Yeah, Leon. I was wondering since we know that in two days is when Oje and my mom fly back home. If it's okay that I spent some time with them today so I can make the promise I made before I came here. I'd figured well if I spend time with them now and tomorrow they could get ready for their trip back home." Athena said in response.
"Of course, Teena. I understand what you mean. I'm giving you my car keys, so you have a vehicle to get there. It should have plenty of gas, so you don't have to worry about that. If you have any questions or concerns, just call or text me. Have a good visit with your brother and mom." Leon said as he handed Athena the car keys.
"Thank you, Leon. I'll be back later then." Athena said as she walked out the door.
Then Leon sat down in the living room next to Sharon who looked at him with a calm stare. Karen noticed that once she entered the living room only a few seconds later.
"What? Did I do something wrong?" Leon said with honesty.
"No, darling. Just never thought you'd compare my rambling to fantasies is all." Sharon said with a smirk.
"Well, that was the first thing that came in my mind, honey. I mean what did you want to me to compare it too then hmm?" Leon said with curiosity.
"I don't know. There's nothing really." Sharon said in response.
"You are sure, Shar. Didn't you say that rambling was a naggers thing?" Karen said adding her two cents.
"Karen…..that was when we were younger when we you know." Sharon said in response.
"You are hiding something, Shar-bear?" Leon said with honesty.
"Yes, but it's kind of embarrassing to share, darling." Sharon said in a nervous feeling.
"How embarrassing can it be? I mean you've heard a few embarrassing stories about me or my friends, so what's wrong with this one." Leon said as he touched Sharon's cheek.
"He does have a point you know, Shar." Karen said adding her two cents again.
"Oh, okay. When I was young, me and Karen had sort of a bad habit of peeping in on our parents' conversations. It got to the point one day, we hear our mom rambling on and off about things dad's doing and not doing to the point where our dad caught us eavesdropping on mom's talk, where he told us both not to do it again and explained that she liked to nag at him for no reason on a regular basis. So that led me to compare rambling to people nagging." Sharon said with a sigh.
"Honey, to be honest with you. I never seen you nag at least once. From the way I look at it if someone sees us talk like we're nagging but we're not." Leon said with a smile.
"You think so?" Sharon said in response.
"Of course, Shar-bear." Leon said with honesty.
"Leon, how long do you think Athena will be gone for?" Karen said with curiosity.
"A while, Karen. She wanted to see her brother and mom before they leave in a couple of days. It's the best I could do because I know she'll miss them and knowing them like I do they'll spend some quality time together." Leon said in response.
"Yeah I can understand that Leon." Karen said with a smile.
"It's very sweet that you're letting this transpire, darling." Sharon said in response.
"Thank you, Shar-bear. It means a lot." Leon said with a smile.
Then Leon and Sharon rested their heads on top of each other before snoozing off in the couch. Karen with a smile on her face embraced the scene before her for a few seconds until she went upstairs to Nicole's room.
"Hi, Auntie Karen." Nicole said once Karen entered her room.
"Hi, munchkin. What you up to?" Karen said as she found a place to sit.
"Oh, my stuffed animals were about to be done with a jubilee ceremony for Missy Bear. Where's Mommy and Daddy?" Nicole said with curiosity.
"Your parents are taking a nap on the sofa right now. They must be tired from running around today and making that good lunch." Karen said in response.
"Oh, okay. It seems that they've been more tired and such lately. I mean I'm grateful for today, Auntie Karen." Nicole said in response.
"What do you mean by that, Nicole?" Karen asked with concern.
"It's the first day in a long while that Mommy and Daddy spent quality time with me." Nicole said in response.
"I know what you mean, munchkin. They've been so wrapped up with wedding stuff, honeymoon and moving arrangements lately that they spent less time with you. But now that stuff is over with, I think they're doing their best to spend time with you, Nicole. Don't feel left out okay give your mom and dad a chance because they want to show much they love you. Okay." Karen said with a calm tone.
"Okay, Auntie Karen." Nicole said as she hugged her aunt.
"Hmm…that's a cute tiara Missy Bear has, Nicole." Karen said with a smile.
"Thank you, Auntie Karen. My cousin Lola gave me one of her old pageant crowns a while back and I thought it would be a good fit for Missy Bear." Nicole said with an enthusiastic smile.
Suddenly, Karen and Nicole hear a loud groaning noise coming downstairs. Karen realized that Leon and Sharon were waking up from their nap. Nicole handed Karen a stuffed animal to play with while she had Missy Bear in her hand. A minute passed before Karen noticed that a couple of others entered Nicole's bedroom.
"How was your guy's nap?" Karen said with curiosity.
"It was good. I see Nicole's got you playing with her animals." Leon said in response.
"Hmm-Hmm. I'm keeping Nicole company." Karen said in response.
"Yeah, we were going to check on her earlier, but I guess we got tired and fell asleep. Sorry about that." Sharon said in response.
"It's okay, Shar. Me and Nicole understand what you guys are going through." Karen said with honesty while Nicole nodded.
"Thank you guys for understanding. We're doing our best to do better." Sharon said in response.
While hearing the conversation, Leon also hears the front door being open which meant one thing and he went downstairs. Sharon, Karen, and Nicole peered through Nicole's bedroom door to see what was going on. Leon saw that Athena had returned and gave him back the car keys before the two took a seat on the sofa. Before he could say anything, Leon notices that Sharon, Karen and Nicole were peering from upstairs and signaled them to come downstairs.
"So, how did your day with Oje and your mom turn out, Teena?" Leon asked out of curiosity.
"It went great, Leon. We went to the park, did some sightseeing and hung out at the hotel room for a while. They wished me the best of luck and hope that all of my dreams still come true before I gave them a tearful goodbye. But I'll try my best to still keep in contact with them. Just that…." Athena said while a tear dropped down her face.
"It'll be okay, Teena. If you need time to yourself we'll leave you alone." Leon said with a calm tone.
"Thank you, Leon. But I'll be okay." Athena said in response.
"Okay. Hmm…there's the legendary Hart tenacity I remember from long ago." Leon said with a smile.
"You know of that, Leon?" Athena said in reply.
"Of course, your grandfather used to train me on and off, so I know of his legendary tendencies of stretching the bejesus out of people and what he did to your father and his siblings. I learned a lot from him as well and I saw a bunch of him in both your dad and uncle Bret. That's why when I got done with the gruesome training at the dungeon, your grandfather specifically told me to follow under the wings of both your dad and uncle Bret." Leon said in response.
"That's interesting, I remember my Uncle Ross saying something like that about you not that long ago and I just couldn't believe him. Now I believe it to be true." Athena said in response.
"Oh, your Uncle Ross. If there is one person out of that family who's kept and preserved the history of your family's legacy that's him. I knew he would still keep up with things even after everything that's happened. I still am surprised that he still remembers the same thing I did even though it was his suggestion originally to go with your dad and Uncle Bret." Leon said with honesty.
"What do you mean?" Athena said with curiosity before noticing that Sharon, Karen and Nicole entered the room huddling around.
"Well, it was about the week before my training was done in Calgary. Bret and Owen were in town, this was also around the time that Bret won the WWE title for the first time. So, they had come to see the trainees and watch them for scouting reasons. One day after a session got done with, Stu told me that I had passed his class and gave me pointers on what to say to promoters. After I had that talk, Ross pulls me aside and told me that Bret was impressed with my work ethic and training skills that he was going to put in a word for me at WWE to sign me a contract. Then he later added that Owen wanted me to hang out with him as a celebration for completing my training. So, that night I hung out with Owen and he told me not only how much he liked my work but that I reminded him a whole lot like himself when he first started out. That's when I knew he would be my best friend on that day. Then two days later as I was packing my bags, I was approached by Stu with Bret and that's when Bret told me that WWE was keenly interested in me and once I signed the contract was to fax it to their office in Stamford, Connecticut. Once Bret handed me the contract was when Stu told me to be under the watchful eye of Bret and Owen regardless of what Vince tells you. That's when I thought so Ross did tell Stu about his idea and successfully pitched it to him." Leon said in response.
"So, that's how your wrestling career started?" Sharon asked out of curiosity.
"Yes. I came in when business was in the midst of controversy by our government and needed people like me, Bret, Owen, and so on to be the standard bearers for the company." Leon said with a sigh.
"Oh, yeah I forgot about that. My mom did tell me that was a harsh time in wrestling since the government was putting the company on trail for steroid distribution and my Uncle Davey was on the stuff which led to him being released right before you signed, Leon." Athena said in response.
"Yeah. It was one of many dark days that I would see but overcome it whether it was me or the company as a whole." Leon said with a sigh.
"I like the fact you see the light out of every situation, Leon." Karen said in response.
"It was something that I was taught while at the rehab center by a counselor. That's what helped me keep my outlook on life even when I was at my lowest." Leon said with honesty.
Sharon had a smile on her face upon hearing that and went into the kitchen while Nicole followed her. Karen looked on with a smile as she noticed what was going on and went into the dining room.
"Your daughter seems to be wanting to help you or your wife a lot today I've noticed, Leon." Athena said with curiosity.
"Yeah, Teena. I am starting to notice that myself even though I am grateful that Nicole's helping me and my wife out, but it seems after I've suggested for her to go to the supermarket with my wife earlier. It's like she's becoming more attached to us." Leon said with honesty.
"Leon, it's because this is the first day she's had quality time spending with you and Sharon. She told me that earlier." Karen said with honesty.
"Oh, you're right, Karen. Me and Sharon have been busy lately not devoting some time to Nicole. I'm feeling lousy because of it." Leon said with honesty.
"It's okay, Leon. Nicole understands and knows you're trying your best to devoting your time for her. Don't blame yourself for not giving her attention lately." Karen said with a calm tone.
"Thank you Karen. Do you know what Sharon and Nicole are cooking over there?" Leon asked out of curiosity.
"I don't know. It looks like they're stumped on ideas at the moment, so it'll be a while. Why you hungry, Leon?" Karen said with a smile.
"Maybe…." Leon said with honesty.
"Daddy, we're trying to figure out what to make for dinner. Please give us some time, okay." Nicole said all the way from the kitchen.
"Okay, sweetie." Leon said with a smile.
Athena went to her room for a while, Leon went to the kitchen to take a sneak peek of what Sharon and Nicole were going to make for dinner but was stopped by Nicole who was guarding the kitchen.
"Hmm…my kitchen being guarded by my sweet little angel. How will I ever cross over? Oh, I know. Got you, sweetie." Leon said before carrying Nicole up on his arms.
Sharon who was getting the dishes she needed together had a smile and laughed along with Leon and Nicole. Then Leon put Nicole down and stood next to Sharon before giving her a kiss.
"Nicole, since your dad is here now. Want to tell him what we were going to make?" Sharon said in a calm tone.
"We are going to make homemade pizza, Daddy. Mommy thought it would be a good dish for me to learn since it can help me be artsy." Nicole said in response.
"Of course, sweetie. I'll be looking forward to what you guys made." Leon said before leaving the kitchen to join Karen in the dining room.
"Figured out what they're making?" Karen said once Leon sat down.
"Yes, why'd you think I'm sitting here instead of there." Leon said with a sigh.
"Not a fan of getting flour all over you. Don't worry, Sharon convinced me to join them earlier, but I kindly told them no. It's not to be rude but I'm reminded of a time when me and Sharon were younger." Karen said with honesty.
"You mean?" Leon said with curiosity.
"Yes, let me tell you about it first. Me and Sharon were middle school age, one day our mom decides to let us cook dinner one night and told us that she laid out the ingredients for homemade pizza. Then we battered out the dough to make the pizza and once that was done I didn't know there was some leftover. So, Sharon while I was focusing on putting the sauce and toppings like the recipe required was getting a big bowl out and waited until I got done preparing the pizza before she dumped the batch of flour on me which ruined my favorite outfit. That ensued into a fight where our mom stopped us, and we were grounded for a while." Karen said with a sigh.
"Sis, you know I was deeply sorry for ruining that outfit and causing the fight on that day." Sharon said as she entered the room after putting the pizzas in the oven and motioned Nicole to go back to her bedroom.
"I know you are, Shar. It's just helping explain how stingy I get if my clothes get major stains on them was all." Karen said in response.
"Oh okay." Sharon said in a reassuring way.
"Mmm…I am smelling the pizzas already." Leon said with a smile.
"It'll be a while before they're done, darling." Sharon said with a smile.
Leon looked on with a smile before he got up to check on Athena. Once he reached the room Athena was staying in, Leon noticed that it was shut and heard a deep sigh coming from the room and knocked before entering. Then Leon noticed that Athena was wiping tears off her face and he motioned her to sit on the bed.
"What's wrong, Teena? I can tell you were wiping tears off your face and that tells me you were crying." Leon said with curiosity.
"I'm sorry Leon. It's just that I'm going to miss my brother and mom. Also, I will be missing my friends back in Canada." Athena said with sniffling.
"Oh, you're feeling sad and it's okay to feel this way. I was the same way when I bolted out of my house at seventeen and I felt sadness that took me a while to heal until about a year and a half ago." Leon said with a calm tone.
"You sure?" Athena looked at Leon with a calm tone.
"Of course, Teena. Hmm…what's this oh I'm getting a message from your Uncle Bret." Leon said as he checked his phone.
"Leon, I am proud of the fact you're helping out my niece, Athena. Ross told me earlier about everything that happened, and I know that Owen would be proud of you for watching over his daughter." The message from Bret stated.
"Leon, what is it?" Athena said with curiosity.
"Your uncle's proud of me for what I'm doing with you. Well actually it's your uncles and aunts that are proud. You know I haven't gotten that kind of praise since they made me an honorary member of your family years ago." Leon said before a tear dropped down his face.
"Thank you, Bret. I appreciate it." Leon said in his reply message to Bret.
"I'm happy that the family is being supportive for what you're doing for me, Leon. I am grateful for that." Athena said in response.
"Yeah. Oh, there's something I've got to show you, Teena. It's something that your dad and Uncle Bret gave me after the pay per view in Calgary as a gift, but I only worn it a couple of times. My wife or daughter doesn't know that I have it until now." Leon said as he motioned Athena to come to the storage room.
"Okay, Leon." Athena said with curiosity.
"Let's see where the box is at. Ah, found it." Leon said as he found a big storage bin before blowing the dust off it.
"Hmm…wrestling memorabilia." Athena said upon looking at the top of the bins name.
"Yes, this is where I keep some of my most precious wrestling moments in. Ah, here's what I am looking for." Leon said as he pulled out a black jacket with pink writing on it including his name.
"That looks like the Hart Foundation jacket that my dad used to wear during his stint with the group with my uncles Bret, Davey, Jim and family friend Brian Pillman." Athena said in response.
"Yes, Teena. It's because your dad and Uncle Bret had the same jacket maker design this just in time for my fateful turn on that day in Calgary. It still fits me after all these years, so I'll keep it out for the cold months coming up." Leon said with a smile and put the storage bin back in its original place.
Then Leon with his prized jacket walked out of the storage room and headed to the bedroom to hang it up in the closet. Athena on the other hand went to the dining room to sit with Sharon and Karen.
"Leon's putting something away and he should be down soon." Athena said once she sat down.
"Oh okay. You seem to be in good spirits, Athena." Sharon said in response.
"Yeah, I was sad about missing my family and friends, but your husband assured me that everything was going to be okay. Then my uncle sent him a message saying that he along with my aunts and uncles were proud of him for what you guys are doing for me." Athena said in response.
"That's good to hear. Can you hold on a second?" Sharon said in response.
"Sure." Athena said with a smile.
"Nicole, sweetheart, dinner." Sharon said as she pulled the pizzas from the oven.
Then Nicole came down to take her seat in the dining room table with a smile on her face.
"Where's your dad, sweetheart?" Sharon said in a calm tone.
"He should be coming right around…." Nicole said before hearing footsteps entering the dining room.
"Now, sorry if I kept you guys waiting. I was putting something away and charging my phone." Leon said in response.
"Oh okay, darling. You have some smudge on your arm. Got it." Sharon said as she wiped the dust-off Leon's arm.
"Okay.." Leon said after coughing away from the food.
"You alright, my love?" Sharon said in response.
"Yeah, just that clearing off heavy dust does that to me sometimes." Leon said with honesty.
"Were you in the storage room, darling?" Sharon said in response.
"Yeah just to get to something out of there, honey." Leon said with honesty.
"No wonder why you had dust on you earlier it's because that room hasn't been cleaned in months, darling." Sharon said with a sigh.
"I know Sharon, but we have time to get around to cleaning up the house one day if you want to." Leon said with a smile.
"Okay, as long as you help me. Deal?" Sharon said in a reassuring way.
"Deal." Leon said in response.
"Umm the pizzas are getting cold." Karen said with curiosity.
"Oh, yes. Let's eat shall we." Leon said as cut up the pizzas into eighths.
Then everyone proceeded to eat dinner with smiles. Once Athena, Karen and Nicole were done eating and left the dining room, Leon looked at what was left of the pizza and was amazed.
"Surprised that we ate almost of it aren't you, darling. Whew my stomach feels bloated and full after eating that." Sharon said with a sigh.
"Yeah I am impressed, honey. I was planning on waiting a while before cleaning up the dishes anyway." Leon said in response.
"Can I ask you something. How bad was the storage room?" Sharon asked out of curiosity.
"It didn't fill up with a lot of dust if that's what you're wondering. My only concern is that we didn't bring in any unexpected visitors. That's why I am glad you brought up cleaning earlier." Leon answered boldly.
"Visitors…..you mean icky mice. If I see one of those nasty things I am literally going to scream." Sharon said in response.
"You're afraid of mice, honey. How long have you been afraid of them?" Leon asked out of curiosity.
"Since I was a little girl, Leon. Karen used to have a mouse as a pet and one day after it had died I saw a few mice peering through some of our food and I tried to pet one until it tried to bite me. I ran to find my mom nearby and cried on her arms while explaining to her what happened while my dad got rid of the mice. Now you understand why I am morbidly afraid of mice." Sharon said in response.
"Yeah it's a traumatic thing to go through, honey. Listen if any mice come near you I'll whack them into the next century." Leon said in a reassuring way.
"Thank you, darling." Sharon said in response.
"I'm feeling a little nervous about tomorrow." Leon said with honesty.
"Leon, you're going to be fine. The twins will have good time spending with you. I know that it'll hard to please one without the other being you know. But you'll do great since they haven't had quality time with their uncle in some time. If it's here you're worried about, we'll be fine I mean I'll find something fun to do with Nicole alongside with Athena and Karen." Sharon said upon looking at Leon's face.
"Thank you, honey. That helped me out a lot and makes me looking forward to tomorrow even more." Leon said after kissing Sharon.
"You're welcome, my love. Is it okay if you do the dishes because for some reason my bloating feeling won't go away?" Sharon said in response.
"I can do that, honey." Leon said as he started to clean up the dinner dishes.
"Thank you." Sharon said in a calm tone.
"Of course, Shar-bear. How come you're feeling bloating all of a sudden I mean dinner filled you up?" Leon said with curiosity.
"I don't know, darling. It could be that time of the month for me, and I just haven't realized it yet." Sharon answered honestly.
"Oh, that time. Well do you have enough of umm… those things or do you need me to head to the store to get you some?" Leon said with curiosity.
"I should have plenty, darling. Now that you mention it I better put one on in case. It's cute how you avoid mentioning the product by name." Sharon said as she went to the bathroom really quick.
Leon had to smile at the last part of Sharon's statement while he was putting some dishes away. A couple of minutes later, Sharon came back to the dining room from the bathroom looking all better and noticed Leon's face.
"It was exactly as I thought, darling." Sharon said as she sat down.
"I'm glad you figured it out and it will go away soon, honey." Leon said in response.
"Yeah, Leo." Sharon said with a smile.
"Alright, I have the dishes done. So, what do you want to do now?" Leon said once he sat in the dining room.
"How about you and I watch a compilation of your best matches in the bedroom?" Sharon said in response.
"I'm okay with that, Shar-bear. Just a question though how does you know of my compilation video?" Leon asked out of curiosity.
"I stumbled on it one day while in the storage room and pulled it out from the box you had it in. You don't look mad at me for doing so, darling." Sharon said in response.
"I've been trying to find it for a while, but I am glad you found it because I was planning on spending an occasion like this with you where we'd watch it and I explain the in-depth information of each match." Leon said with a smile.
"Really you were thinking about that as a plan for us to do one day?" Sharon said in response.
"Of course, honey. There are somethings that people have tended to hide over the years even through them interviews they do for dirt sheet lovers. This is why I want to be truthful to you about everything that's happened despite what you've heard about me." Leon said in response.
"I figured you would say that and that's why I wanted to do this with you, Leon. Besides, I have always believed in you and no outside source regarding your career." Sharon said in response.
"Thank you Shar-bear. I'll get the smoothies ready if you get everything else set up in the room for us. Deal?" Leon said with a smile.
"Deal." Sharon answered honestly.
So, Sharon went up to the bedroom to set up the television and DVD player while Leon was preparing the smoothies. Then Nicole came into the kitchen to see what her dad was doing.
"You need something, sweetie?" Leon said with curiosity.
"Daddy, Missy Bear's arm and ear has a tear in it. Can you see if Mommy can fix her for me?" Nicole said as she showed Missy Bear in the state she mentioned to Leon with a gloomy look.
"I'll see it that your mom fixes Missy Bear for you, sweetie. Okay can you show me one of your wonderful smiles." Leon said with a reassuring way.
"Thank you, Daddy. Hopefully, I can get a good night's sleep knowing Missy Bear will get better too." Nicole said before she hugged her dad.
"Yeah, sweetie. Just get a good night's sleep okay and once morning comes Missy Bear will be back to normal." Leon said after kissing Nicole on the forehead.
"Okay, Daddy. Good night." Nicole said before heading off to bed.
Now Leon had to carry two smoothies and Missy Bear up to the bedroom. Once he got to the bedroom, Leon handed Sharon her smoothie before he shut the door and sat down with his smoothie and Missy Bear.
"How come Nicole's stuffed animal is here with us, darling?" Sharon said with curiosity.
"Well take a look at Missy Bear. Nicole felt sad because there's a couple of tears on the Bear that she wants you to fix, honey." Leon said with honesty.
"Oh, I see the tears. This shouldn't take me long to fix Missy Bear." Sharon said as she got a thread and needle.
It took a half hour for Sharon to fix all of the problems with Missy Bear and so Leon got up from bed with the Bear. Leon went to Nicole's room to see that she was sound asleep, and he put Missy Bear on top of her arms before heading off back to his and Sharon's room.
"Okay we ready to relive some of my favorite moments." Leon said as he shut the door and got into bed.
"Yes, darling." Sharon said as she hit play on the DVD player.
"You know this took me days to convert most of this onto DVD since some of my matches were back when VHS was still a thing. I mean you're talking about hours of footage that takes rendering." Leon said with a sigh.
"I bet, Leon. I mean if my parents went through the home videos they did of me and Karen when we were younger well I could imagine them going through the same ordeal you had to." Sharon said in response.
"Exactly." Leon said with honesty.
"Hmm...what's this first match about, darling." Sharon asked as the first match on the set was being introduced.
"Oh, this was a match that led to my first title for the WWE. The intercontinental title at the time was considered a worker's belt and whoever got the belt would eventually get some sort of major push in a person's career. In this bout I was wrestling against Marc Mero who had joined the company earlier that year from the competition and won the belt. The plan was for my reign to be a transition for Hunter as per stipulation of a punishment for him breaking one of wrestling's scared rules the middle of that year. So, I figured might take it with stride since WWE was in a heated ratings war with another promotion based in Georgia at the time." Leon said in response.
"So how long did you have the belt before giving it to Hunter?" Sharon asked as she sipped her smoothie and watched the first match.
"About 3 weeks after this match occurred." Leon answered boldly.
Leon looked happy to see that Sharon was attentively watching the match and asking him questions at the same time. About five minutes later, the first match was over and then came the second match.
"That looks like the Saddledome in Calgary, darling." Sharon said as she looked at Leon.
"Yes, this is the second match. You already know the story behind it because I mentioned it on our trips up there in Calgary." Leon said with a huge smile.
"This is the match you got involved in for your notable heel turn." Sharon said with honesty.
"Hmm-Hmm. The match in its entirety including the introductions and this is the one thing I have to point what the commentators are saying about the wrestling introductions mainly Bret's group was true that night. Especially with me standing behind the curtain for the majority of that match until my planned run in, it was like being close to an airplane was how loud the crowd noise was that night." Leon said with honesty.
Leon and Sharon were watching the second match with one head resting on the other's shoulder. Then as the match reached its climax, Leon could see the joy coming in his wife's face while he was reflecting back at memory lane. Suddenly Sharon paused the DVD once the match including the post festivities had transpired.
"You okay, Shar-bear?" Leon said out of concern.
"I got to use the bathroom, darling. I'd just didn't want it to keep playing while I am not in here." Sharon said as she got out of bed.
"Okay, honey. I won't press play until you get back." Leon said with a smile.
"Thank you, darling. Now if you'll excuse me" Sharon said as she rushed to the bathroom.
Leon looked on with a smile before looking at Sharon's smoothie cup. "She drank most of her smoothie compared to mine which I barely got halfway through. No wonder why she had to use the bathroom. Oh, Shar-bear, I hope you're doing okay." Leon thought to himself. Then a couple of minutes pass before Sharon came back and crawled up next to Leon.
"Feeling better, honey?" Leon said with curiosity.
"Yeah, I drank that smoothie way too fast, and my bloating is gradually going away." Sharon said in response.
"That's good. I think there's four more matches on this DVD if I recall correctly." Leon said with curiosity.
"I'm okay with that since I have nothing else to do but spending quality time with the man I love more than anything else, you." Sharon said before kissing Leon.
"Aww that is sweet of you to say, honey. I'll hit play and we will continue watching this DVD." Leon said as he hit play on the DVD remote.
"Okay, what's this match about, my love. The design of the entrance is scary looking." Sharon said in response.
"Ah, this was a regular match that happened in Summerslam 98, whichhappened to be at the company's home base in Madison Square Garden in New York. I had wrestled in the free for all on that event but since it had a decent turn out it wounded up on the pay per view. This night was also significant for me because after the match we're watching here is when Vince pulls me aside and tells me that he's planning on putting the world title on me at the following pay per view. So, he told me in order for me to cement the job I had to interfere in the main event later that night and be a part of their storyline until the next event." Leon said with honesty.
Sharon was amazed to hear that fact from Leon as he explained the background for each of remaining matches on the DVD. Once the DVD got done playing, Leon pulled it out of the player and turned it along with the television off. Then Sharon proceeded to yawn, and Leon crawled into bed next to her after putting the DVD away.
"Some night hmm…" Leon said with a smile.
"Hmm-Hmm. I learned a lot from you, darling." Sharon said in response.
"You tired? I know I am." Leon said with curiosity.
"Hmm-Hmm. Let's get some shut eye." Sharon said as she turned off the lights and fell asleep.
"Good night, honey." Leon said right as he fell asleep.
