Spider-Man: Look out! Here comes the Spider-Man! It was Mephiles that was impersonating and framing me. Did it all to ruin my legacy before trying to kill me! Luckily, I was saved by my friends, and new friends called the Chrono Avengers, which included Miles, Miguel, and Weiss's granddaughter! Interested to know why they're here but that'll have to wait, 'cause something red and nasty is spreading throughout the city.

Act 1 Issue 3: Code Red

Avengers Tower

Standing before a large window in the briefing room is none other than Captain America staring into space. The good Captain is lost in his own thoughts, contemplating the recent struggles that have taken a toll on himself, and most importantly the country that he has sworn to protect since the day he was given his iconic shield, all the way back in the 1940s. Steve was distracted. Too distracted by his thoughts that he didn't the loud sounds of metallic footsteps coming from behind until he heard the familiar voice of a friend.

"Was wondering where you were."

Steve turns around to be greeted by his best friend in hi-tech armor, Iron Man. Nowadays, Tony is rocking his Extremis Armor as he opens up his faceplate to reveal his smiling face at the Captain as he says, "Looky at what I found hidden in Dad's archives." He holds up a folder containing dozens of old files, "His unfinished scientific papers. Brilliant stuff. Even contains private research notes of Solaris before the days of Project PEGASUS. He theorized a new element structure that could partially replicate his energy but only got as far creating Time Bombs and a prototype Arc Reactor. Thinking of synthesizing the element to improve my Arc Reactor. Get it patented as 'Badassium'."

Steve smiles, "Just don't have too much fun. We're already in the middle of a time crisis." He joked.

"Ah you worry too much. This time crisis will be a no crisis once my research is complete." quips Tony as he joins his friend's side by the window.

"I hope so…" Steve frowns, staring out into space again.

Tony notice his friend is looking oddly depressed. And as the good friend that he is, he asks him, "What's the matter, Steve? It's not like you looking down in the dumps."

"It's this Registration Act." Steve answered stoically, "Weeks have passed and I still can't stomach it. Placing all superheroes under government control and arrest those that disagree. And those that did register shouldn't arrest those that have risked their lives for this country every day."

"Not to mention recent news framing Spider-Man as a mass murderer. We both know it wasn't him killing those ex-SHIELD agents." Tony commented.

"But not the rest of the world." Steve responded. "They've fallen for a ruse designed for more supporting the SRA. It's not right. And the final straw."

"Final straw?" A curious Tony questions, fearing on what he's about to say.

Steve turns, facing his friend with a stern look that compliments his next words, "I'm leaving the Avengers."

BGM-Marvel Ultimate Alliance 2 OST-Register or Rebel

Tony was rightfully surprised to hear those words from his best friend, the leader of the team that have accomplished the impossible for years because of his remarkable leadership. And now that leader wants to quit that mighty team. "What? You're crazy! You can't just quit!" Tony retorted.

"I've been thinking it over for weeks. Rusk has been pulling on our leash away from a problem he doesn't want us to fix. I've been sitting on the sidelines for too long. Luke, Clint and Sam have been doing a good job leading Anti-Registration movements. Now I want to join them on the front lines." Steve explains his reason for wanting to quit the Avengers.

"Steve, you're just gonna make things worse." Tony argued.

"How can I make things any worse than it already is?" Steve questions his argument.

"It's because your name is CAPTAIN AMERICA!" Tony retorts while pointing his finger at his star-spangled friend. "If the government sees you picking a fight with them, they won't hold back."

"Look down at the city, Tony! They've already placed the whole city on lockdown with GUN troops patrolling every corner!" Steve snaps back while pointing down at the window.

Tony gets defensive while retorting, "I saw. Rusk is being annoyingly paranoid. And if he sees you fighting against him, he'll order us to take you down and I don't want to do that. You're my friend, Steve. You're what holds the Avengers together. If you leave, you'll just tear it apart." He said, which actually got Steve to relent and reconsider his decision. He then offers him a handshake while requesting, "Just give me a chance to tell you my plans for a 21st Century overhaul."

Steve heard that and takes one look at the offered handshake, then walks away from it. "God, Tony, you've been supporting the SRA from the beginning." He deduces Tony's real stance on the Registration Act.

"Cap, please…you know how hard I tried to fight this…but things are changing. The Convergence. The war against Eggman and Ock. And recently this Solaris Project. We lost a lot of people over the years to them. Slowly but surely, the public are losing faith in us. Rusk is being too aggressive with it, but better handled, regulation CAN improve our friendship with the normal folk." Tony argued.

"Regulation takes away certain freedoms, like freedom of choice. People are dying every day. We should have the choice to help them as soon as possible, not wait for an order from people with agendas that are always changing." Steve argued, doing his best to remain calm in this argument.

"That's good. That's why I'm here. When I realized what my weapons were capable of in the wrong hands, I shut it down and stop manufacturing." Tony scowled.

"Tony, you CHOSE to do that. You're just proving my point." Steve retorted.

But Tony retorts with, "What I'm PROVING is that our choices wouldn't matter in the long run if we keep making the wrong decisions. If regulation didn't happen now, it was gonna happen to us later. That's the fact. And if we want to make it work, it needs the right man for the job."

"And your ego is suggesting it should be you?" asked Steve, coldly scowling as he confronts the scientist.

"The smartest should be allowed to make the smart decisions." Tony quips through his stern stare at the captain.

It's not surprising hearing these old friends argue, staring coldly at each other whenever their different ideals are thrown into the conversation. Steve is legendary for believing in freedom, while Tony is renowned worldwide as a futurist. Their differences are what makes them the finest heroic duo in the world, but that seem to be changing as now this Registration Act is cracking holes in their friendship. Could things get worse? Could this argument be the spark of a war between their ideals?

BGM-Dragon Ball Xenoverse OST-Cutscene: Alternate Age

No. Because something worse is about to happen. Suddenly, a loud explosion is heard somewhere in the Tower, causing both leaders to trip and fall as strange red fumes fill their room through the air vents. Tony quickly puts on his helmet to protect himself as he shouts for, "Cap!" in concern.

'Warning: Toxicity levels of gaseous emissions are threatening armor integrity.' His A.I., JARVIS, warns him.

"I'm fine, JARVIS. What about Cap?" Tony asked.

The billionaire hears his friend coughing badly. Cap walks through the smoke, looking worriedly weak as he falls only to Tony's arms. His head is down for a moment to let out one more cough before looking up at Iron Man with a face that horrifies the armored hero. Cap's face, his whole skin, has turned deathly red and weak, as if his body is being shriveled up from the inside out.

Outside Avengers Tower

It's not just Cap that was infected by this virus. This Dust of Death is somehow spreading itself out of the Tower and covering the streets with its venom, infecting dozens of civilians by the minute and won't stop until it covers all of Manhattan. Chaos has descended on the island, causing cars to crash as people turn red and fall, with some instantly dying from the gas while others struggle with all their will to live on for another few minutes.

"What the shock is going on down there?!" asked Spidey 2099, hanging out with his Amazing and Ultimate counterparts on a rooftop alongside Agent Venom, Classic Knuckles, Sticks, Elsa Schnee, and Team WBY. All of them have just evaded GUN's pursuit, only to have a front row seat of the Dust of Death infecting the population.

"You mean you didn't come back in time to prevent COVID 2.0?" Peter quipped.

"No. They must be setting the stage. This is the opening act before the main show." Miguel speaks in vague riddles that confuse his counterpart.

"Who's 'they'? The Syndicate? What's going on?" Peter asked but couldn't press him for answers when he hears the bad coughs of a certain faunus. "Blake?!" He turns around just to be horrified seeing7 Blake fall unconscious onto Yang's arms with her skin turned deathly red.

"Blake, stay strong!" Yang shouts, greatly worried for her best friend's health.

"She's been infected by the gas!" A shocked Knuckles noted.

"And it's only a matter of time 'til the whole city turns red!" Peter grunts, turning his attention to the source of the chemical attack which is Avengers Tower, "Just what the heck was unleashed in Avengers Tower?"

With Iron Man…

BGM-Marvel Ultimate Alliance 3 OST-Under Siege

The Armored Avenger flies at urgent speeds through the tower while holding his sick Captain that is getting sicker by the minute. "JARVIS, prep the infirmary! Seal the Tower! Initiate security lockdown and patch me through to Thor!" He ordered at once.

Above the clouds of Manhattan

The Mighty Thor was enjoying his alone time flying above the city when he received an urgent call from his iron teammate, 'Thor, you read me? We've got a situation at the Tower!'

"What madness is this?" questioned a shocked Thor, noticing the toxic gas as he nears the Tower.

'That cloud is toxic! Get rid of it before all of Manhattan is exposed!' Tony ordered.

"Consider it done my friend." Thor spins his hammer at astonishing speeds, sucking up all the spreading gas from the streets like a windy vacuum as he flies it somewhere that it can be safely deposed.

Avengers Tower, The Infirmary

Captain America is laid on a bed, looking weak and getting weaker. Alongside Iron Man are his fellow Avengers, Bruce Banner and Ruby Rose, as all three of them just can't bare looking at the Living Legend in his sicken state.

"Body temperature is at 104 and climbing, and his heart is beating erratically." Bruce commented.

"He doesn't have long guys." Ruby frowned.

"He's not the only one. We don't know how many of us were exposed." Tony remarked before saying, "JARVIS, analysis on this virus. Anything in your databanks?"

'Nothing, sir.' JARVIS replied.

Meanwhile, Steve, with all his strength and heart, tries to fight off the infection and struggle to keep himself alive and barely conscious. His efforts worry his friends, especially Tony as he softly tells him, "Easy pal. Try not to move." Despite their heated argument earlier, Tony still considers Steve his best friend and it just pains him seeing him sick, dying with no immediate cure for him in sight.

Weakly, Steve stares at Tony's shiny faceplate, using it as a mirror to learn of what he has become. And to his muttering horror, "Oh no…not this…Not him…"his corrupted reflection reminds him so much of another red-skinned man that could very likely be the cause of this mess.

Suddenly, Ruby feels a headache coming as she weakly holds her head, "Oooh…I…I don't feel so hot…"

"Ruby!" Bruce exclaims upon noticing her falling into unconsciousness. Luckily, he catches her, "Your sister would go all Hulk on ME if something happened to you." before gently placing her on the bed next to Cap.

"Bruce, look." Tony notices the huntress's skin turning red, just like those infected by the Death Dust.

"It's only a matter of time until we all turn red. Not to mention anyone exposed outside." says Bruce, walking to grab a syringe then use it to draw out Ruby's blood, "My gamma-infused blood should protect me long enough for us to collect samples from both of them. Hopefully they'll be enough to synthesize an antidote."

While the gamma scientist collects the samples, JARVIS announces to his boss, 'Sir! Incoming call! Senator Dell Rusk of the World Security Council on secure channel alpha.'

"Rusk? He wants to talk now?" A shocked Tony retorted.

BGM-Mega Man Star Force 2 OST-Atmosphere of Unrest

At that moment, a holographic viewscreen of the aforementioned Senator is projected to Tony's face. 'You Avengers have finally crossed the line. Keeping secret dangerous biotech weapons from the Council, storing them in the heart of Manhattan. This is PRECISELY why I proposed the Superhuman Registration Act!' Rusk berates the team.

"Mr. Senator, we were attacked." Tony argued.

'Tell THAT to the American people, Stark!' Rusk retorted. 'Not only your former teammate, Spider-Man, was on a killing spree using YOUR Stark Bombs, and now this? These incidents confirm what I've been telling the public all along: The Avengers, all heroes, cannot be trusted! Now that you have violated the law, I'm shutting you down until further notice.' He declared.

Annoyed with his prejudice claims, Tony retorts, "You know we can't do that! And as for this 'incident', we just need time to-!"

'WRONG ANSWER!' Rusk cuts him off. 'The die is cast. I'm officially taking matters into my own, more capable hands.' He declared once more, which sounded ominous enough for Tony and Bruce to exchange concerned glances.

Rusk kept his word, as moments later a massive GUN army rolls up and surrounds Avenger Tower from bottom to top with all forms of weaponry. Tanks. GUN Beetles. GUN Hunters. A few Big Foot mechs. And the hovering Heavy Dog in case Hulk rages himself out of the makeshift quarantine zone.

"Let's get those samples into the Accelerator for analysis. Rusk isn't giving us much time." said Tony, after he and Bruce made it to a secure laboratory where they can do their work in peace for a few minutes.

Bruce inserts the samples into the machine. As soon as he does, holograms encircle the science bros with data that will be very useful in synthesizing an antidote. "Ruby's aura was able to delay the virus from infecting her bloodstream but it didn't hold up for long. She's fading fast, but Cap is still showing resistance." He notes off the data.

"Must be the Super-Soldier Serum in his blood, just like the gamma cells in yours." Tony believed.

'Sir! An armored division have coned off the area. And the Tower's security systems are being hacked from the outside.' JARVIS informs his maker, displaying footage of the armored division in his HUD.

"Hacked? I wrote those programs personally." Tony commented, dumbfounded and annoyed that someone managed to hack his ingenious systems.

Another holo-screen projects to the scientists, with this one displaying footage of a GUN Transport Helicopter landing on a docking bay of the Tower. 'A troop transport is landing on the rooftop docking bay as we speak.' JARVIS informed.

"He's sending in troops to do what? Arrest us?" Tony quipped.

Avengers Tower, Briefing Room

BGM-Marvel Ultimate Alliance 3 OST-Under Siege

The briefing room suffers an incursion after someone blew a hole into the wall. Smoke was everywhere, but it wasn't long until it dispersed while revealing the intruders, each of which looking absolutely familiar: The two-tailed fox, Tails. Hammer-wielding hedgehog, Amy Rose. Batty superspy, Rouge the Bat. The ultimate Badnik, E-123 Omega. Huntress prodigy, Pyrrha Nikos. Ionic-powered warrior, Wonder Man. And mysteriously, the chrono mutant solider himself, Cable. They were the troops sent in by Rusk, strictly ordered to arrest the Avengers for seemingly unleashing the Death Dust.

"Code Red team, you have your objectives. Now move out." said Cable, with himself and his teammates wearing gas masks to protect themselves from any Death Dust residue.

"I hope you guys have your invitations handy…" quips the Wonderful Wasp, flying into the briefing room as the size of an insect before unshrinking herself beside her other two teammates, Wolverine and Ms. Marvel, "Because we just don't let anyone in here."

"Here is my invitation." Omega coldly points his arm cannon and fires homing missiles at the Avengers. They dodge them, with Wasp shrinking and flying to blast the ones chasing her with her stings until she was effortlessly slammed to her defeat by Cable's telekinesis since the Death Dust has infected her and weakening her ability to continue fighting.

Amy swings her hammer at Ms. Marvel but fails to connect any blows because of the latter's stretchy powers making it easier to dodge. "Why are we fighting? We're all friends here! You know we'd NEVER attack the city with a virus! We were framed!" said Kamala.

"Which is why we need to put you in lockdown to sort things out." retorts Amy, bouncing off a wall to finally land a solid blow that knocks out Kamala, who was also infected and thus losing strength over the course of the fight. But right after she was knocked out, Amy briefly takes on a purple hue and glowing blue eyes. Almost as if she is being controlled by evil energy, and it's possible she's not the only one.

Wolverine remains, and unlike the others is actually putting up a decent fight since his healing factor is fighting off the virus. With Adamantium claws complementing his ferocious fighting style, he pushes back his enemies with violent force while saying this, "Something ain't smelling right. You're all acting funny. Especially you, Cable…" He turns his attention to the chrono mutant, "Last I heard, you were AGAINST the SRA and went underground! When the hell did you rise up to become Rusk's lapdog?"

"Things are changing, Wolverine. Soon it'll be made perfectly clear." Cable spoke ominously, as Pyrrha uses her Polarity Semblance to manipulate Wolverine's metal bones and brutally slam him to the ground so Wonder Man could blast him to near-death.

With Thor…

The Thunder God flew all the way into space to disperse the Death Dust, never allowing it to threaten Mobiant Earth again. But as he flies back to the planet, he gets sucker punched by a familiar red-hulking figure and crashes onto Liberty Island. He groans in a pain that few have caused him over his immortal life, struggling to stand and snarl, "You DARE strike an Asgardian, mortal?" at the new challenger.

That challenger lands in front of the Thunderer to reveal himself as the monstrous general, Red Hulk. "That felt good. Let's do it again." He mocks the god, while the same Dark Aura that was controlling Amy begins emitting off of his body.

Manhattan

Ambulances and paramedics are scattered throughout the city doing the best they can to treat the infected, with additional help from registered Huntsmen searching for any infected and taking them to a quarantine zone. Professor Ozpin, Headmaster of Beacon Academy, is one of the huntsman helping out, but was also in the city taking a stroll when Death Dust was suddenly unleashed. Meaning that while searching for more infected to be escorted, he starts coughing really badly while his pale white skin turns deathly red. The now infected Headmaster falls to his knees, struggling against the virus while nowhere close enough to any ambulance for mild treatment, but is close enough for some friends to find him in his weakened state.

"Yo Oz. You're not looking too green."

That joke came from a blue hedgehog that Ozpin knows all too well. He looks up to find himself confronted by Sonic and his Secret Avengers pals such as Hawkeye, Valkyrie, and Beast, as well as Modern Knuckles. All five of them having responded to the virus outbreak, wearing gas masks to protect themselves.

"Sonic…Hawkeye…" Ozpin struggle to say while standing up, "You all shouldn't be here…GUN will…"

"NOT our biggest concern when facing a viral outbreak." Hawkeye cuts him off. "Beast, take a few samples then head back to base to create a cure. Also contact Iron Man. No doubt Shellhead is also creating a cure for this stuff and might need some help."

Beast nods, "Understood. Excuse me, Professor." He says to Ozpin while sampling his blood with a syringe.

"HOLD IT RIGHT THERE, CRIMINALS!"

As the heroes turn around, they are suddenly surrounded by GUN and the commander that commands them: A beautiful, yet mysterious white-skinned woman with long blonde hair and outfitted in green-and-yellow armor of an unknown kind, almost futuristic actually. "Sonic, we've got you and your friends surrounded! You're under arrest! Put your hands up." She demanded them to follow her strict orders.

"Says who, toots?" Sonic retorted.

"You may call me…Terminatrix." She introduces herself as a GUN Commander, and secretly a member of Code Red. "I command these forces and I order you all to turn yourselves in for your defiance to the SRA, unless you want to find out how I earned the name 'Terminatrix'." She coldly says, thrusting her palm at the Secret Avengers while it charges with energy.

"Not in the mood for a lecture. Wouldn't you agree, professor?" quips Hawkeye, sharing a glance with Ozpin while firing an explosive smoke arrow that blinds Terminatrix's forces. But it didn't blind Terminatrix herself after she seamlessly materializes her helmet, allowing her to scan through the smoke and target Hawkeye before blasting him down.

"Beast, go create the cure! We'll cover ya!" shouted Sonic, covering for Beast's escape while he and the others fend off Terminatrix and her forces.

Avengers Tower, Infirmary

The intense fighting with Code Red upstairs shakes the infirmary so much that it stirs Captain America awake from his sleep. Both he and Ruby are still infected, but the former doesn't care about that. He can hear, feel the rumbling all around and struggles to get up to assist his friends, "I can't just…sit this out…"

Ruby weakly responds from her bed, "Cap…They're already working on an antidote…Besides…you're not going anywhere…without…me…"

The scarlet huntress gets up from her bed, but as soon as she does, she loses her balance and falls unconscious. "Ruby, no!" Cap quickly caught her and softly places her back on her bed, "Stand down, solider. You need to rest…"

BGM-Super Dragon Ball Heroes OST-Competitive Battle

"You should heed your own advice. You look terrible." quips Cable as he surprises the Captain with his appearance in the infirmary, "And certainly in no condition to deal with me."

"Luckily I don't have to. JARVIS!" Cap calls out the A.I. butler for assistance.

'Overriding security lockdown. Initiating interior defense system!' JARVIS unleashes metallic tentacles from the walls to grab Cable's energy rifle and crush it, then tries to do the same to the mutant only for him to easily rip the tentacles apart with his psychic powers.

"This isn't an undercover mission for the Secret Avengers. And I can tell you weren't captured and forced to work under Rusk…Why are you doing this, Cable?" Steve asked, sensing that something is off about his mutant friend.

"Because that ISN'T Cable!" says a voice unfamiliar to Steve but surprising to Cable. Out of nowhere, Cable is savagely kicked to the wall by a hooded, teleporting woman that bears a striking resemblance to Ruby. She lands next to the shocked Steve, dual-wielding energy kamas while glaring at the downed mutant. "Just a psychic illusion to hide his true identity. Stryfe!" She proclaims to the sick Captain.

"Stryfe?" The shocked Steve remarked. And it's true. As the fake Cable struggles to get up, his psychic illusion is dropped to reveal himself as Cable's armored clone. The Omega Level Clone. The Chaos-Bringer. Stryfe.

"Summer Rose…Quite surprising to see you here." The revealed Stryfe snarled, revealing her identity as Summer Rose, the Huntress of the Future and Ruby's granddaughter.

"Did you really think a Tachyon Dam would stop us from stopping you? You are NOT killing Captain America, and especially not my grandmother!" Summer expressed with a swing of her kama.

"You're Ruby's granddaughter…?" Steve comments in weakened shock.

"Stand back, Cap! I got him!" Summer charges at Stryfe to deliver more punishment, using her Semblance to teleport to his back at the last second only to be caught by the grinning mutant's telekinesis before her surprise attack could connect.

"Have you already forgotten? I can see everything. Your movements. Your mind. You have NOTHING that can surprise me!" Stryfe boasts before sending her rocketing backwards where Summer crashes onto a wall.

"Summer!" The concerned Steve exclaims, glancing to find her simply knocked out.

"Now it's your turn!" says Stryfe, right before knocking out Captain America with a single punch to the face.

Avengers Tower, Living Room

BGM-Marvel Ultimate Alliance 3 OST-Bring on the Bad Guys

Wonder Man, Tails, and Amy walked into the living room searching for any more Avengers that needs a beating and an arrest. But searching for them wasn't necessary, as one of them appeared with an energy blast that served as a warning shot, prompting them to stop. "THAT was a warning shot." said Scarlet Witch, the Sorceress of Chaos as she descends to confront her former friends, "I promise that the next shot won't miss."

"Wanda, there is no need for violence. The more you fight, the more the virus is killing you. Your magics won't protect you forever. Just please, you and the Avengers surrender peacefully." Wonder Man said, trying to convince his former love to turn herself in.

"Avengers DON'T surrender, Simon, or have you forgotten your days as an Avenger after registering!?" Wanda retorts with a stern stare at her former love. "Iron Man is working on a cure to save countless lives, yet you're here trying to stop us from doing so."

Annoyed by her defiance, the three Code Red members tap into their Dark Auras to increase their power dramatically, but also become more ruthless as they fight Scarlet Witch. Her and Wonder Man are evenly-matched, trading blows with their energy blasts while making a mess of the living room and while Wanda says, "I don't want to fight you, Simon! I sense an ancient dark power has taken control of you all, strengthening your negative emotions! Just give me a moment to dispel-!" She was then abruptly cut off by Tails smacking her to Amy, who slams her to the ground with her hammer.

"Sorry, Wanda, but the Avengers have to be stopped at all cost. They have caused more harm than good to the good people of this planet." Simon proclaimed.

"I would've listen to the woman if I were you!" quips a voice that sounds identical to Amy, but it's not the Amy any of them know. A portal to another dimension opened to summon the Amy and Tails from the Boom Universe, as they immediately leap out to strike away Wonder Man.

"Another us? From another dimension?" Modern Tails responds in shock to be confronted by his alternate dimension counterpart.

"Yup. Except we're not being controlled by the evil energies of a time monster's remnants!" quips Boom Tails, equipping himself with a blaster that fires a laser powerful enough to knock out his counterpart. And with his counterpart knocked out, his Dark Aura disappears. "My research was right. A good beatdown is enough to remove the effects of the Dark Aura, albeit when they're in stage one." He commented.

"Good to know!" quips Boom Amy, clashing hammers with her Modern counterpart. "I'm sure the me of this world can handle a good, fiery beating!" Fire energy from her wrist communicator begin to emit and envelop it, then envelops Boom Amy and her hammer in a superheated fire-like aura called Fire Mode. With this technique supercharging her hammer, the hedgehog smashes her weapon on her counterpart with enough force to send her flying through a TV, knocking her out while purging her of the Dark Aura.

Both Boom heroes share a victory high-five, believing they have won. Until they were painfully reminded that Dark Wonder Man is still active as he blasts them away. "Don't know where you imposters came from, but it's the end of the line for you!" He threatens them. The ionic warrior prepares an energy blast that would be powerful enough to defeat the twin heroes, scaring them for their lives. But before he could fire, someone else fires a chaotically powerful energy blast to his back that causes him to scream until he was truly knocked out cold, with the Dark Aura being purged from his body.

BGM End

Both Boom Tails and Amy turn to Scarlet Witch panting while on a knee, revealing herself as the one who saved them from annihilation. "Cool move." Boom Amy casually compliments her.

"Thanks…" said Wanda, growing weak as her infection becomes visually apparent and falls, only to be kindly caught by her new friends.

"Hang in there! We were sent here by Cia to help. Is there anyone in the Tower working on a cure for this stuff?" Boom Tails asks the infected sorceress.

"Iron Man…In the lab…" Wanda weakly answered.

"Great! I'll go meet with him!" Boom Tails hurries to the exit of the living room. But before he leaves he stops, scratching his head looking totally confused before turning back to Wanda to ask, "Uh…Where's the lab?"

Avengers Tower, Lab

"Thanks for the assist, Hank. We really need another brain to complete this antidote faster." said Iron Man, having been contacted by Beast through a holo-feed for assistance in completing the cure.

'Indeed. Our friends and the city won't last much longer if we don't complete it soon.' said Beast, performing his experiments at the Lighthouse while Tony and Bruce interact with holo-screens in the lab, with all three scientists encountering problems to produce a stable antidote.

"It's certainly…taking time…" said Bruce, starting to feel weak and gaining a headache as he collapses to his knees.

"Bruce, you okay?" Tony looks down, only to be horrified at Bruce's skin turning red like the infected, with the worrisome addition of green gamma veins pulsating across his body, "Oh no…"

Bruce tries to stand back up to continue working on the cure, only to fail and fall unconscious. As Tony attends to his sick friend, he hears Pyrrha's taunting voice, "It's fortunate the virus is preventing him from Hulking out. Otherwise the disease would rampage across the world." before turning to find her and Omega standing near the entrance to the lab.

"You're one of Ruby's friends. Pyrrha Nikos, right? I understand you're under orders from Rusk, kid, but give me time to complete the antidote to save her and the city." Iron Man said, vainly requesting for additional time.

Pyrrha retorts, "She and the city needs help from doctors! Not the people responsible for causing this mess! Omega!" She calls out her teammate, who targets his arm cannon at the Armored Avenger.

"JARVIS! Some privacy please." Tony ordered.

'Acknowledged.' said JARVIS, sealing the lab with a blast door from the mind-controlled duo.

"That'll hold them for a while. I hope." Tony quipped.

BGM-Marvel Ultimate Alliance 3 OST-Losing Control

From outside the lab, Pyrrha and Omega succumb to their Dark Auras as the latter tries punching down the blast door with his metallic fists. "I will not be denied the pleasure of your annihilation by a door." said Dark Omega as he continues punching it.

"Well too bad, bub…" quips Wolverine as he weakly confronts duo, having survived his earlier encounter with them, "'Cause I'm gonna enjoy ripping ya a new one…"

"You can't fight off the infection forever, Wolverine. We're ordered by the government to place you all under quarantine!" Dark Pyrrha expressed.

Wolverine snarls while popping out his claws, "And who's we? You and the walking trash can…?"

"One equipped with a machine gun." quips Omega, reconfiguring his forearm into a machine gun that relentlessly fires bullets at him. Wolverine blocks most of the bullets with his claws until Pyrrha slyly uses her Semblance to sheath them, allowing the remaining bullets to pierce his body and knock him down.

Liberty Island

A thunderstorm brews over the intense battle between Thor and Dark Red Hulk as the former tries to swing his hammer while shouting, "HAVE AT THEE!" only for the latter to dodge his attack.

"Have at thee THIS!" Red Hulk grabs the god's head and slams it to the ground, but the thunderer quickly recovers with a hammer uppercut that knocks back the brute before slamming his weapon to the ground, calling down several lightning bolts to strike the gamma monster, forcing him to scream in pain until he collapses to his knees.

The battle looked to be over, for a moment until Red Hulk's eyes glowed blue. The gamma beast smiles, leaping at Thor with a powerful stomp that pins him to the ground for a brutal pummeling. But amidst the pummeling, a familiar portal opens in front of Red Hulk. And just when he notices it with a confused stare, he gets spindashed in the face by Classic Tails, then blasted by the Chronoan Cia, and finally uppercutted off of Thor by Boom Knuckles, after all three Chrono Avengers leaped out of the portal.

"Lady Cia?" Thor questions her surprise appearance in this dimension while being helped to his feet by Knuckles, "What are you-?"

"I'll explain later, Thor. Just allow us to assist you-!" retorts Cia, before Red Hulk cuts her off by brutally grabbing her throat and slamming her to the ground.

With the Secret Avengers…

They are still holding their own against Terminatrix and her annoying GUN army. Modern Knuckles and Valkyrie knock out a few with fists and sword swings respectively, while Hawkeye jumps around freezing crowds of them with freeze arrows. After Sonic dodges the flying Terminatrix's energy blasts, he attempts a Spin Attack on her, only to be stunned when she freezes him in time temporarily with her mysterious technology and blasts him to a building. The warrior woman tries blasting him again, only for the sicken Ozpin to come to his rescue by projecting a magic barrier to protect him.

"Thanks, old man. Wasn't expecting her to control time like that." Sonic said while recovering.

"Everything about this woman is a mystery…As if she doesn't belong here…" Ozpin pants, struggling to even stay conscious while fighting off his infection.

Annoyed by Ozpin's interference, Terminatrix targets her next attack on him, not caring that he's a victim to this viral outbreak but only seeing him as an obstacle to Sonic's capture. Before she could fire however, she is struck to the back by two awfully familiar blue blurs to Sonic. And it makes sense for him to recognize them, as those two are literally him but from alternate realities: Classic Sonic and Boom Sonic.

BGM End

"Hoho, just a split-second behind." Classic Sonic grins while mocking his Boom counterpart for being a little slow.

"Pretty sure we hit her at the same time, kid." quips Boom Sonic, as the blue duo are joined by other Chrono Avengers such as Ozma, Young Salem and her purple princess-themed Hero Chao, and the real Cable.

"Eh? You are…?!" gasped Modern Sonic, noticing his counterparts along with the Chrono Avengers.

"The Chrono Avengers? But…how did they breach the timeline?" A surprised Terminatrix muttered, seemingly recognizing the time-traveling superheroes and apparently aware they were blocked from this timeline, even though no one besides the Chrono Avengers should know anything about the Tachyon Dam. Perhaps this is a hint of her true identity.

Ozpin was left surprised by their appearance too, mostly from recognizing the younger, non-corrupted form of his former lover and his former incarnation. "Salem? And he's…" He nearly falls unconscious from the sickness, until he was caught by Ozma alongside his girlfriend.

"Easy. I know who you are, and I know you're confused. Just know we've come to help." Ozma said to his future counterpart.

"Mind explaining where you've been? Got lost traveling through the timestream?" Hawkeye jokingly asks his chrono mutant teammate.

"More like under house arrest. No time to elaborate. We've got bigger fish coming in minutes!" Cable retorts, holding out his energy rifle.

"Care for a hint?" Hawkeye quipped.

Meanwhile, Terminatrix is calling for something through her armor. Knowing she doesn't stand a chance against the Secret and Chrono Avengers alone, she summons down some powerful reinforcements. One, in the form of a large red GUN mecha that she materializes out of thin air to confront her enemies, surprising them with this powerful energy-charged weapon.

"Well, it's not that." Cable dryly quips, as the heroes confront GUN's ultimate weapon, Diablon.

Avengers Tower, Training Room

Back in the Tower, Dark Rouge flies into the training room looking for something. Whatever it is she's being controlled to look for, it's somewhere in the other side of a large hole that was recently blown up. She lands near the hole and would've walked in to investigate, if a familiar voice belonging to another superspy didn't get her to stop, "Looking for some jewels to steal?

Rouge turns to find the Avenger Black Widow sternly pointing her pistol at her. "Not today, Nat. I'm here to save lives. Be smart and yours will be one of them." Rouge confronts her former friend with a cold glare.

Widow grunts, clearly infected but not enough to stop her from stopping Rouge. "…I'm healthy enough to deal with you." She challenges the bat, with Rouge taking the skies for their battle as Nat fires her gun.

With Wolverine…

"Berserker Barrage!" shouts Wolverine, rapidly slashing his claws on Dark Omega until he shuts down and his Dark Aura is purged.

Right after Omega is defeated, Dark Pyrrha takes his place. She swings her Milo Xiphos at Wolverine, who swiftly blocks it with his claws. "You're getting sicker by the minute! Please let me get you help!" She said, before magnetically slamming him to the wall.

Wolverine pants exhaustedly, clearing expressing his struggles to fight off his infection for another minute. "…My healing factor's…ALL the help I need…" He knocks her back with a diving kick and tries to continue the assault, but couldn't. His infection begins overpowering his healing factor, forcing him to cease his struggles and fall unconscious.

With Black Widow…

The Russian Avenger's efforts to shoot down Dark Rouge were in vain as she dodges her bullets and counters with a Screw Kick, only for Widow to roll away from the attack. She tried to counterattack but Rouge was too fast and gets kicked down, with her guns also knocked away from the fall. "You never know when to quit, Nat! Don't you get it! You brought this upon yourself!" Rouge taunts the weakened hero.

Thinking quickly, Widow fires a grenade from her golden gauntlet that surprises Rouge as it emits an extremely loud sound wave that pains her ears. It hurts her so badly that it knocks her out cold, falling to the ground before her Dark Aura removes itself.

BGM End

Widow grunts as she stands up, "…Ultra sonic grenade…Bats hate 'em…" She then turns to the hole that caught Rouge's interest earlier and wonders what is inside, "Now…what were you looking for in here…?"

With Iron Man…

The Golden Avenger, with some help from Beast, has finally found a genetic match that begins calculating an antidote for Death Dust. 'Sir!' JARVIS contacts his boss, as he's walking to the unconscious Bruce in bed.

"Take a message, JARVIS. The simulation is showing real progress against the toxin. Bruce's out, and one of Rusk's hit squad is blasting my door." quips Tony, glancing at the blast door that is slowly being blasted down by Pyrrha's Semblance from the other side.

'I have an encrypted signal from Black Widow, coming from the training room.' JARVIS informed him.

"That I'll take." Iron Man said before answering the call, "Widow, you hanging in there?"

BGM-Mega Man ZX Tunes OST- Fate - Deep-Seated Grudge

The billionaire hears Nat grunting, struggling to fight her infection before she speaks, '…Barely. But I found the reason we're in this mess…It's an incendiary device, with a built-in emission system. It caused the explosion and released the airborne toxin all at once.' She revealed while holding onto the black incendiary device.

"Hold onto it. I'll do a scan and maybe we can figure out which psycho we ticked off this week." Tony quipped.

'Hold on, Stark. I've seen this kind of tech before…' Widow grunts, sounding weaker as she falls to lean on a wall, 'As my days as a SHIELD agent…This device is D.O.D., all the way.' She revealed next.

"Department of Defense? Why would they…" Then, Tony comes to a shocking realization as he figures out the person truly responsible for this viral outbreak, "Because of Rusk…! He set us up! Framing Spider-Man! Framing US! But why? Trying to find excuses to reinforce his Superhuman Registration Act?"

'…I'm gonna leave that one…to you…' quips Widow, sounding like she has finally succumbed to the virus and falls unconscious.

"Widow! Do you read me!?" The worried Tony retorts for any response and get none from Widow. But does receive one from Dark Pyrrha, as the blast door is finally blasted away and nearly hits the Avenger if he didn't duck in time.

"I'm really sorry, Iron Man, but we're taking control of this Tower whether you like it or not! By order of-!" Abruptly, Pyrrha is knocked out and purged of the Dark Aura by a psychic energy blast to the back. One that iconically belongs to the Future Freedom Fighter, Silver the Hedgehog, who finally arrived to help his friends in the past.

BGM End

"Sorry for the sucker punch, Pyrrha. I know you weren't feeling yourself." Silver sheepishly apologizes to the unconscious huntress, before facing Iron Man, "And sorry Iron Man, for showing up late. Got a little lost finding this room." He said, with Boom Tails entering the lab alongside the infected Wolverine.

"Don't apologize, kid. Glad you're here with a Tails that I'm assuming is not from this timeline." Tony quips while turning to the alternate dimension two-tailed fox.

"Yup." Tails casually responds with a smile.

"Enough chitchat…Hurry with the…antidote…" says Wolverine as he falls to the ground unconscious, now with his own mutated red skin.

"Logan, no!" Tony hurries to his aid to check if he's okay, which he is but not for very long, meaning he needs to complete that antidote at once. "JARVIS, initiate final sequence! On my voice command! GO!" He ordered.

'Processing…' JARVIS complies, calculating antidote, then a simulation before running into a symptom withdrawal, 'Sir. Simulations are showing full symptom withdrawal based on your last antidote formula. Synthesizing now.'

"Make it fast! We need it." says Tony, carrying the unconscious Logan to a bed while the mobians tend to the unconscious Pyrrha.

With Thor…

BGM-Marvel Ultimate Alliance 3 OST-Planet in Peril

Even with the assistance of Cia and her teammates, Thor is still having trouble defeating Dark Red Hulk. The gamma goliath has already knocked out Classic Tails, right before Boom Knuckles charges at him with a powerful punch that he collides with his own. The moment their fists came together; shockwaves were emitted while the ground beneath them cratered from destructive force. Both brawlers swiftly switch to an intense clash that stood evenly matched until Knuckles lands a solid blow across the face.

"Ha, BOOM! There's more where that came from! You're about to be knocked out by the strongest red guy there is!" Knuckles taunted before being humorously uppercutted through the Statue of Liberty by the annoyed Ross.

The gamma general returns his attention to Thor and tries smashing him, only for the thunderer to fly up then swiftly smash the debris thrown at him. "My mercy has its limits, brute!" Thor proclaimed.

"Mercy? What's that!?" Red Hulk retorted.

The red rampager hurries to the base of the Statue, and with all his strength tries to lift it as his final weapon to defeat the Thunder God once and for all. Too bad that he left himself wide open for a certain Time Sorceress to freeze him in time, as Cia shouts, "THOR!" as the signal to take him out. Thor complies, quickly hurling his hammer at the frozen Ross's gut, sending him flying miles away from the island while his defeat purges him of the Dark Aura. Mjolnir returns to his owner's hand, as he stands victorious alongside his Chrono Avengers allies.

Back with Iron Man…

BGM-Mega Man ZX Advent Tunes OST-Dive into Depth

At long last, the cure is complete. With a syringe in hand, Iron Man injects it into the shoulder of the unconscious Bruce Banner, having him be the first to receive the cure. "Come on, let's go." Tony muttered. With a pained grunt, Bruce gets up from his bed as his body experiences a cleansing. His mutated red skin and the cells infected are purged of the virus, and thus Bruce is restored to his original state.

"Yes! Dr. McCoy, the cure worked!" Silver happily informs the mutant scientist online.

'Thank goodness. Now we can begin mass production for the rest of the city.' Beast comments, while Tony cures Wolverine next of the virus.

"Tails and JARVIS can help with that. Prep the Iron Legion and they'll dispense the antidote throughout the city. Meanwhile, Silver and I will cure our friends inside the Tower." Iron Man ordered.

With syringes full of the cure, Silver and Iron Man split up to cure the other Avengers of the deadly toxin. It didn't take long for Silver find and cure Black Widow, Ms. Marvel, Wasp, and Scarlet Witch of the disease. For Iron Man, he rushes into the infirmary to find Ruby, as well as Summer right as she awakens from her comatose state.

"And I'm assuming you're Ruby's relative from an alternate timeline." Iron Man jokingly greets the futuristic huntress.

"Her granddaughter from the future, actually…" groans Summer, tending to her headache.

Tony injects the cure into Ruby's shoulder while quipping, "You're in luck. Get to meet her without her dying and you fading from existence."

Like the others, the cure has an immediate effect on Ruby as it turns her back to normal, though a little groggy as she gets up with a slight headache. "My head…" She groans weakly, before turning to face her future granddaughter for the first time in person. Though accidently referring to her as, "Mom…?", since they both look nearly identical.

"You're referring to my great-grandmother." Summer quips through her warm smile.

Ruby gasp in shock, taking a quick moment to process this before happily embracing her granddaughter with a warm hug, "You're the Summer from the future! My granddaughter! I never thought I'd finally get to meet you in person!"

"Same here…Last time we met in person, you were dead. Glad we don't have to go through that again." says Summer with a soft tone, looking a little teary-eyed since she's finally meeting her ancestor, her inspiration and hero, for the first time ever.

Not wanting to break up their family meeting, Iron Man looks around for any sign of Captain America as he's the remaining Avenger that needs to be cured. But strangely enough, he's not here. Not on his bed, or anywhere in the infirmary, "Cap? …Cap! …Ruby Jr., where's Cap?"

Summer gasps in shock, breaking off from her hug with Ruby to retort, "He's not here?! He was here before I was knocked out! Don't tell he was kidnapped…" She said worriedly, wondering if Stryfe captured him.

"JARVIS!" Tony calls out for an immediate search for the missing Captain.

'Scanning…Captain America is not in the Tower.' JARVIS informs the trio.

"Seriously? Where could he have possibly gone in his condition?" Tony wondered.

Washington D.C., Triskelion

The answer lies within the Triskelion, which was the primary headquarters for SHIELD before it was shut down by Dell Rusk. And speaking of the ruthless Senator, what was thrown to his floor by Stryfe was none other than the completely sick and utterly helpless Captain America, whose miserable state was so satisfying to look at that it causes Rusk to smile creepily, and ominously.

KFX Here: YEESH! This chapter took forever to complete! Why do I get the feeling I'll keep saying that throughout this story? Eh. As long as it turns out good. Dell Rusk is starting to reveal his true colors as we wrap up Act 1 with the next chapter. And what about Terminatrix you may be wondering? If you know your Marvel lore, you should already know her true identity. If not, keep reading to find out.
