Act 2 Issue 4: Quest for Booty

Haunted Ship Zone, Sol Realm. Chrono World

The Sol Realm. Just like the other realms in this Timespace Rift, it's a colorful void imprisoning various floating locations and innocents that were stolen from across time and space. This dimension is colored turquoise and houses many Zones from the Sol Zone, Blaze the Cat's home dimension, with the Antarctic continent being the floating center for all these floating islands that surround it.

Many of those islands are inhabited by people, but no one seems to have a home in Haunted Ship Zone. It is a spooky ship graveyard, with rotting and abandoned sailing ships floating ominously and constantly covered by thick fog which understandably gives sightseers the impression of the area being haunted.

On one of the floating ships, there was a crack in the timespace that suddenly broke open a time hole. Summoned from the portal against her will is a young woman with red hair and a beautiful body that one would mistake her for the mutant Jean Grey, despite this mystery woman wearing cavemen clothing as if she was raised by cavemen from the Stone Age, or at least by wolves.

"My head…Where am I?" The red-haired woman asks herself while tending to her headache. She stands up to find herself surrounded by eerie lost ships as she comments, "A graveyard of ships? They almost feel…foreign. Like they are not of my world. But how can this be?" She frantically moves her head around for, "Where are my friends, and my love?! Odin?! ODIN! PANTHER! RIDER! AGAMOTTO?!" Her eyes then glow with mysterious telepathic power as she scans the area, "I do not sense any of them in this world. It would seem that I was only one caught in the rift."

Though she doesn't sense her friends anywhere, she does sense something ominously devilish rising from the shadows behind her. In a quick instant, she turns and blasts the forming shadows with flames that burst the floating ship out of the sky. The woman safely flew to another ship to look at her work, wanting to see if the shadows were dead.

BGM-Mega Man Zero 3 OST-Curse of Vile (Remastered)

They were not. Within the flames is the menacing silhouette of the shadows taking form of a hedgehog. "The shadows survived the flames without trouble! How can that be?" The Woman remarks in gasping shock.

Suddenly, the silhouette disappears before her eyes right as she hears a dark voice of stoic malice behind her saying, "Long time no see…Phoenix."

The now-revealed Phoenix turns around in shock to face the being that knows of her. That being happens to be the mysterious Mephiles the Dark. "A talking rodent with no mouth. No doubt a demon born from the shadows. Were you the one that summoned me to this world?" Phoenix asked sternly, being cautious with the demon.

"Yes. I summoned you from one million years in the past, to a future that is all but broken." Mephiles answered hauntingly.

"For what reason? Who are you?" Phoenix interrogated.

"The one who wants to have their family reunion. Not with the host, but with the flames." Mephiles then creepily approaches the woman, who ignites her hands while taking a defensive stance against the unfazed hedgehog, "Come now. Don't you recognize me? You are the nexus of all psionic energy in any universe. Though my form has been splintered, my mind still exists in this form. It is adequate, but I still require your flames to help me reunite with mine."

Phoenix knows she can't trust a word he says. Yet the flames in her soul can't help but believe otherwise. Her flames tell her that they are slowly recognizing Mephiles. Nearly remembering him as the Time God Solaris. But these thoughts and memories are suddenly interrupted by the mental force of an intruder. Stryfe. The grinning mutant clone hovers behind her, attacking her mind to try and knock her out. But Phoenix resists. With both her powerful mind and the flames about to burst in rage, she fights back. That is until Mephiles decides to have a little more fun messing with her and infects her with his corruptive dark energy, causing the red-haired mutant to scream in pain as her mind is being taken over.

"Yes, keep her like that! Allow me to add the finishing touch!" exclaims Eggman Nega from his Egg Mobile. The mad scientist comes down to cover her face with a black mask that frighteningly resembles that of the Time Eater. The second it's locked to her face, her head goes limp as both her body and mind are now under the complete control of the Chronos Corps. The smiling doctor chuckles while backing away to his two allies, "Success! Nega Mask fully equipped! The Phoenix Force is now completely under our control!"

"Are you certain?" The unconvinced Stryfe asked, knowing how wildly uncontrollable the Phoenix Force can be.

"Absolutely! As long as we keep her power levels in check to a limit. But even with that limit, she has EASILY become one of our most powerful weapons and the best guinea pig to perfect the Solaris Project!" Nega confidently claimed.

Still unconceived, Stryfe says, "Just make sure you don't feed her too much of the Solaris System's power."

"That'd be a waste! It is the PHOENIX FORCE! Its host is already consuming limitless energy." Nega retorted.

"Mind controlling cosmic gods. Is this your solution to control me once I regain my true power?" Mephiles mockingly asks his two allies, unnerving Nega but not fazing Stryfe.

"N-No no no no no! Who said anything about CONTROLLING you?! We are simply your humble servants torturing ourselves to restore you to your full divine glory!" Nega nervously retorted.

"And I am thankful, to you and the Chronos Corps for ALL you've done. I do reward those who show me the proper respect. I'm honestly a little grateful to your Project." Mephiles expressed simply.

A dumbfounded Nega remarks, "You are…?"

"Truth be told; I am not a perfect being even in my true state. I'm so powerful that at times I grow out-of-control to the point of endangering myself. This Project should hopefully remove that flaw." Mephiles claimed.

Eggman Nega seems to believe his words, but the opposite is nearly said for Stryfe. He doesn't trust Mephiles, which is further exemplified when he can't read his mind because of mental blocks that are more powerful than his psionic powers. Still, he is curious to try and learn a little more about Solaris and ask Mephiles, "Mephiles…What is your history with the Phoenix Force? I sensed that her flames recognize you from when you were once Solaris."

Mephiles stoically faces the mind-controlled Phoenix and vaguely remarks, "I share a history with everyone in the universe, including the Phoenix. The two of us are simply twin flames born at the dawn of creation, each of us burden with glorious purpose. I, as the Flames that command time and fate. And the Phoenix Force, as the Flames that command life…and death." He ominously claims to his allies.

BGM-Super Dragon Ball Heroes OST-Creepy Anxiety

Inside a lab, Cia stands before the foursome that is Amazing Spider-Man, Modern Sonic, Modern Knuckles, and Shadow. Knowing Kang seeks the Time Factor in their bodies for his Solaris Project, the Time Sorceress prepares a spell that'll extract and seal it away to damper his plans. In the meantime, Beast will record data of the ritual from his computer while Phoenix Wright, Maya, Summer, Spidey 2099, and Classic Sonic watch from the sidelines.

Modern Sonic winks at the sorceress saying, "Ready anytime!" to signal her to begin.

Cia nods solemnly before conjuring a magic circle beneath the foursome's feet. She points her staff at them as it glows a magical color, beginning the extraction process with all her concentration. Dark Auras manifest from each of them as they are slowly drawn to the staff. But halfway through, the spell suddenly halts as Cia senses something. Something horrifying from the Dark Auras. Hiding behind each of the foursome's soul is the Time Factor, taking the form of a monstrous Solaris that makes a shriek resembling that of an elk. That shriek was meant to scare Cia deep to the core as well as leave a message in the form of the Dark Auras electrocuting the foursome until they are knocked down.

"Spider-Man!" A worried Summer exclaims, racing with Maya to help her uncle and his friends and make sure they're okay.

"We're okay! We're okay!" Peter pants as the Dark Auras fade from sight.

From his computer, Beast finished collecting data from the ritual and comments from it, "Fascinating. The Time Factor reading spiked to the nearest limit, then subsided instantly to its previous inactive state."

"I'm sorry. I wasn't able to extract the Time Factor. You'd think being born with Solaris's power would make this easy." Cia frowned, whilst reminding everyone that Chronoans were imbued with time power from their Sun God.

"How come? It looked like you nearly had it." Wright asked.

"A false sense of hope. The Soul of Solaris sleeps within each of them as the Time Factor. Any attempt to disturb his slumber would result in harsh retribution for his host." Cia explained.

"Greaaat. We're being held hostage by a party crasher in our bodies." Knuckles scowls sarcastically.

"This didn't happen before when Stryfe stole the Factor from me and the kid Sonic." Miguel reminisced. "Could it be because of the nature of this warped timespace granting it extra resistance? Or did Solaris ALLOW himself to be absorbed?" He pondered, sternly while having a finger underneath his muzzle.

BGM-Sonic Rush OST-Theme of Comical Event

"That, or Cia's magic sucks compare to Kang Tech." Classic Sonic grinningly quipped.

The annoyed Cia scowls at his insult while retorting, "I'll have you know that my abilities are EQUAL to Kang's! I just don't show off as much as him."

Maya smiles, "Why not we get that Ragna guy's help?! I hear he has a cool right arm that allows him to steal souls! Why not have him go all 'Grim Reaper' and reap Solaris from their bodies!"

"Too risky. Besides, I don't trust that guy. From what I heard, he's a criminal." Wright argued.

"Whaaaat?! Sure he looks a little edgy like Shadow here…" Maya quips, ignoring the stoic Shadow raising an eyebrow at her as she continues, "But he's been helping us fight Kang! He seems to be a nice guy!"

"Two words: Matt Engarde." Wright quipped.

"I can assure you Ragna is a good man." Cia calmly said to get attention on her, "But Mr. Wright is right. It's too risky to go on until we have a better plan to extract the Time Factor."

"I'll begin developing a device that'll safely extract the Factor. With the data I collected from your attempt and the future technology in Chrono World, I say our chances are good." Beast said as he immediately begins working on his extraction machine.

Cia then turns to the Modern Sonic and Spider-Man, "In the meantime, you two don't do anything reckless that'll get you both caught."

"We'll be fine, Cia. Trust us. We are your gods after all." Peter quipped.

"Since WHEN?" An unamused Miguel retorted.

"After we destroyed the Time Eater. Which led to Chronoa being created from its corpse." Modern Sonic quipped.

Hearing that their battle with the Time Eater led to the creation of the Chronoa Kingdom instantly got Classic Sonic hyped as he expressively smiles, "That's sick! We accidently created a kingdom?"

Cia smiles, "Yeah. My people worshipped all of you. Though I personally found the Spider-Gods my least favorite cause I found spiders disgusting." She stated albeit a little awkwardly.

"Unbelievable…" Miguel mutters, lowering and shaking his head at these ridiculous facts.

"I didn't know I was a dating a god for a while. Which is funny considering you're an atheist." Summer smirkingly teases at her ex-boyfriend, laughing at his ever-annoyed expense.

Already had enough of her teasing, Miguel walks away as he speaks to Wright, "Wright, I need your help to get away from his awful woman!"

"Uh, sure. And how?" Wright awkwardly rubs the back of his head while following Miguel out the room.

"How do you feel about suing an evil megacorporation from the future?" Miguel quipped.

BGM-Team Sonic Racing OST-Peaceful

Elsewhere in the tower, Yang is walking alongside Mayday Parker in a hallway. Since the two are now part of the same family, Yang has taken this bizarre time-crossing opportunity to hang out with her spider-powered step-daughter from an alternate future. "So is it true that my grandparents, the ones from your world, were awesome SHIELD agents that got involved in the old Solaris Project that blew up in their faces?" The unmasked Mayday asks her new step-mother.

"Yup. They were the ones that sealed away Iblis, and before that an ancient queen golem demon." Yang smiled.

May raises a confused eyebrow behind her mask on that Morningstar reference that's obviously lost to her, "Uh huh…And I heard from Gwen that you and Peter have gotten married in your world?" She asked her.

Yang nervously scratches her long hair, "Yeah. Crazy. It's so sudden, meeting each other like this."

"You make it sound like we never met before." May quipped.

"Not as mother and daughter!" Yang retorted. "Wasn't planning in having a kid anytime soon, then Kang shows up and brings me one from another timeline." The blonde brawler then smiles warmly at her step-daughter, "But this isn't bad at all. Hanging out with you will make me look forward to my future child even more."

"Hmmm…" May murmurs frowningly as she turns away from her step-mother, which got her both worried and curious on her reaction.

"What's wrong?" Yang asked.

"It's just…weird. I know you two dated, but I always thought your Peter would end up with Mary Jane, like they are in my future." May confessed.

"Well different timelines, different results." Yang responded.

"Not from the realities that I visited while hanging out with the Web-Warriors. Fate always seem to bring those two together. Personally I think they're the perfect couple." May proclaimed.

Those words accidently hurt Yang to the heart. She stops in the middle of the hallway and sadly frowns, "Oh…"

Noticing her mistake, May tries to comfort her, "H-Hey! I didn't mean to-!"

"There's my favorite wife and daughter from across time."

Peter suddenly walks up to the girls, cutting their conversation short as they turned to him. "Oh. Hi dad. Did, uh, you get your Time Factor extracted yet?" Mayday awkwardly asked while putting on her mask.

"Ran into a little trouble so I'll deal with that later. C'mon!" Peter gives his family a shoulder hug as he says, "Fury wants us in the briefing room for a mission. It's gonna be fun saving the world with family, am I right or am I right?"

"I hope you're right…" Yang frowningly mutters, still upset by May's earlier comment about her relationship with Peter and now fears that she isn't the woman destiny wants him to be with.

Later, in the Avengers Tower's Briefing Room…

BGM-Spider-Man: Friend or Foe OST-Helicarrier Hub

The Parker family is joined by Modern Sonic, Wolverine, Ozma, Raven Branwen, Thor, Chip, and Boom Knuckles in the briefing room as they pay attention to a mission briefing from both Nick Fury and Cia. The two commanders stand stern and ready next to the central holographic display showing images and footage related to the mission that they are about to brief the team.

Fury was the first to speak, "Thanks to our recon teams, we now know Chrono World is separated into nine pocket dimensions, each one warped to be themed around a certain time era, with a broke continent of Mobiant Earth taking center stage."

Cia then continues off from where Fury stopped, "Kang has been opening portals linked to each timespace to spread chaos thanks to villains that have aligned themselves with him and his generals in the Chronos Corps. Each general has taken interest in a particular realm, and they won't rest until it has been conquered."

"Obviously this is just one big distraction to keep us away from Kang, and unfortunately it's working." Fury proclaimed, "Our forces were forced to spread themselves across many fronts in Chrono World, calling on reinforcements and the assistance of other outworldly heroes trapped here. So before we take the fight to Kang, we need to take out his generals."

"Okay. Who's first? Would've liked a rematch with King Arthur, but lil' me and Iron Man beat me to the punch." Sonic quips while relaxing on the circular seat.

"Then you should be happy you'll have a rematch with Eggman Nega before anyone else. HE'S what's your mission will be revolving around." Fury quipped, displaying Nega's image on a holo-screen.

"More specifically the Chaos Emerald he is after, thanks to intel given to us from our reconnaissance." Cia elaborated, "The Chaos Emeralds are the key in completing the Solaris Project, and our key in restoring the timeline. This is a TRUE race against time."

"Then we better kick up the pace. Where's the Chaos Emerald?" Wolverine requested.

Fury answers, "In the Sol Realm which we're calling it, since our old friend Blaze the Cat and her empire inhabits it, having taken prime responsibility in fending off her nemesis's forces."

"Does the princess require our aid?" Thor asked.

Cia smiles, "Not at the moment. She is currently aided by fellow Avenger, and an old friend of mine, Sersi of the Eternals. While they're keeping Nega busy, you all can get a head start retrieving the Chaos Emerald." She turns to Sonic, "Sonic will take lead since he's most familiar with the Zones of that dimensions."

"The rest of you keep an eye on him to make sure he doesn't run off-course." Fury sternly added.

"You can count on us, Colonel." Ozma nodded.

"Cool, Sonic! You're the leader of this team!" Chip smiles, happy for his best friend.

"Long as he doesn't have us run into trouble." Peter quipped.

"Just keep your Spider Luck in check and we'll be fine." Sonic snarks right back at him, as the team is ready to explore the Sol Realm.

BGM-Sonic Rush Adventure OST-Sea Map

A Quinjet housing Sonic's team flies out of a portal into the breathtaking Sol Realm. "Here we are! The Sol Realm!" exclaims Wolverine while piloting the jet.

Happy seagulls fly freely in this timespace and over the Quinjet as it flies towards a floating island that spews stunning waterfalls streaming down to the void. As the jet flies over a sea, half of the team look out their windows to spot two dolphins racing with them, with the young girls of the team plus Chip happily waving at them before they dive back into the sea.

"Wooow! This place is AMAZING! Reminds me of the time I visited Adabat." Chip smiles at the scenery.

"Kang may have broken time, but he sure knows how to build a world." Mayday commented.

"Say Sonic…" Boom Knuckles speaks to him, earning the hedgehog's attention as he asks, "You visited this Blaze's place before. What should we expect?"

"Nothing too out of the ordinary like machine islands and coral caves." Sonic then fearfully shivers out, "And lots of water…Just keep a lookout for robots and pirates." He briefs everyone on what he knows about Blaze's world.

"We might get to fight pirates? That'd be so cool! I always liked dressing up as a pirate for Halloween!" Peter expressed with joy, being a big fan of pirates.

"You find pirates cool?" A curious Yang questions her husband.

"And you don't?" Peter retorted.

"Not that much as dragons." Yang quipped.

"And teddy bears." Her husband snarked.

"I find pirates cool." Raven dryly claims from relaxing on her seat.

"'Course you would. Would always find an opportunity to plunder another person's treasure." Wolverine quips stoically, glancing at the grinning bandit.

"That does it. Next Halloween I'm having you dressed up as my pirate empress. Spider-Woman can be the princess!" Peter quips to his wife and daughter.

"Leave me out of this! I don't like pirates as much as you do!" The embarrassed Mayday fanatically retorted.

Knuckles chimes in asking, "Can I be a pirate?"

"Yeah, me too!" Chip chimes in next with excitement.

"Sure. You can be the crew's doctor." Peter quipped.

Chip adorably tilts his confused head towards, "Doctor? "I'm not a doctor. I mean, I suppose I am considering it's my job as Light Gaia to heal the planet whenever it's broken."

"You share the nature of my mother? I sensed there was something familial about you. It will be a pleasure working alongside Gaea's cousin." says a smiling Thor, sharing a handshake with the Gaia of another world.

Chip giggles, "Same here."

"Speaking 'bout relationships." said Sonic, gaining Chip's focus on him as he speaks, "What's yours with Solaris, Chip? When we confronted Mephiles back at Xandar, you two seemed to know each other."

BGM-Sonic Unleashed OST-Gaia Manuscripts

All eyes are on Chip as he frowns, "Of course we know each other. Solaris and us Gaias were born at the dawn of time. As the Time Keeper, it's his job to guide the destines and fates of all he sees fit to maintain balance across the universe. He's the reason why Dark Gaia and I are destined to awaken every few millions of years to fight each other, for the sake of keeping order between light and darkness."

"He's a Time Keeper?" Mayday shruggingly commented.

"More like 'Time-Twister', 'cause Solaris has always been trying to DESTROY time." Sonic remarked, having his arms crossed.

"Maybe it's his extreme way to restore order." Yang claimed.

"I am not too sure." Thor argues, "Why would Solaris align himself with Kang? It is no question that once he is revived, the Conqueror will use his power to subjugate existence, which will upset order. There is no way a god would willingly allow themselves to be used by a mortal in such a manner."

Ozma refutes, "Kang and Mephiles are working together for the same goal in reviving Solaris. After that, who knows what might become of their alliance. Mephiles is the mind of Solaris taken physical form, and has proven to be very cunning and ruthless in his quest for destruction." He then frowns with worry as he ponders, "He is pure evil incarnate. Solaris may have a malicious intent BEYOND keeping balance. We should keep an eye on both Mephiles and Kang until we can devise the means to defeat them both."

Their conversation was suddenly interrupted by Wolverine picking up a strange energy reading as they approach a floating island with an ancient city, "Picking up somethin' from the radar! Not a Chaos Emerald. Appears to be an enemy."

BGM-Sonic the Hedgehog 4 OST-The Tornado Takes Off!

As the Quinjet flies over the city island, it is greeted by a massive flying warship rising from the side, holding a frightening horde of time-displaced pirates and pirate-based Badniks. All of them, the entire crew, being led by a robot pirate captain that looks remarkably like Dr. Eggman but speaks, and laughs, like a pirate, "Heh heh heh…D'ARR HAR HAR HAR! Shiver me timbers! Who is stupid enough to fly in my Pirates' Island?"

Sonic looks out the window and grinningly recognizes the captain as, "Captain Whisker! Still with the funny face and goofy pirate accent."

"Whoa, we're being confronted by ROBOT pirates? This day just keeps getting better." Spider-Man quipped.

Whisker snarls at the sight of his old hedgehog foe, "D'arr! If it isn't the hedgehog that caused me so much trouble stealin' the Jeweled Scepter! I see you've returned to my island with a new crew! Lemme guess? Racing against us to steal the Chaos Emerald at Blizzard Peaks, eh."

"Yeah, but we didn't know it's at Blizzard Peaks. Thanks for the tidbit. We'll be winning the race now." Sonic snarked, embarrassing the captain for blabbering out intel.

"Doh! Me and me big mouth!" Whisker then grins evilly, "Which is also good to spout out my favorite word!"

"'Surrender'?" Mayday quipped casually.

"FIRE!" Whisker shouts from the bottom of his robotic lungs.

BGM-Sonic Rush Adventure OST-Attack

Thrusting his finger at the Quinjet, Whisker orders his ship, the Big Swell, to attack it with a volley of explosive cannonballs. Wolverine puts his piloting skills to the test as he frantically dodges each and every cannonball without incident, but that was only the start of the assault as the heroes become surprise when the Big Swell deploys a fleet of smaller, flying pirate-based ships that successfully damage the Quinjet with laser blasts.

Whisker boastfully laughs, "How do you like that?! My crew has been powered up with newly-discovered Material. It is called…uh…" He scratches his head while trying to remember the name.

"ISO-8, boss!" says the tiny green robot minion, Mini, sitting on his captain's right shoulder.

"Super powerful Material from space, boss!" says the other tiny, blue robot minion, Mum, sitting on his captain's left shoulder.

"Arr, yes! ISO-8! You landlubbers don't stand a chance against me now!" Whisker arrogantly claimed.

Wolverine snarls, "Great. Those buckets of bolts are using ISO-8. We need to do something about them quick before they take us out!"

"We don't have the firepower to take out his ship, so we need to take out Whisker directly! Without their captain, his crew will just give up." Sonic proposed, before turning to Thor, "Thor, give us some air support!"

Thor nods, "At once!" before flying out of the Quinjet.

Sonic then turns to Spidey, "Spidey, use that Chronoblade of yours to slice open a portal to their ship. We'll surprise them!"

"You want me to go all Raven?" Peter quips, before materializing the Chronoblade to his hand, "I think I can manage that."

BGM-Sonic Rush Adventure OST-Boss

The heroes' counterattack begins as more Pirate Ship Drones fly towards them only to be immediately destroyed by the Quinjet's lasers. More cannonballs are fired at the jet and would've caused serious damage if Thor didn't deflect them in the nick of time before summoning lightning to devastate the enemy fleet and worry Captain Whisker with his godly power.

"What lightning! No one told me they have a Viking this powerful on their crew!" Whisker exclaimed. Suddenly, a strange portal opens near him which grabs his confused attention, "What is this now-?"

Abruptly, webbing fired from the portal blinds Whisker to a followed-up surprise kick from Sonic leaping out of the portal. Spider-Man, Ozma, and Yang follow the hedgehog out of the portal, with the blonde huntress introducing herself to the pirates with an earth-shaking ground pound punch that knocks them back several feet.

"Arr! Ahoy there, Whiskers! The Avenger Pirates have come to take command of your vessel! We will steal your booty after we BEAT your booty! This ain't a booty call! It's a booty BEATING!" quips Peter while using a humorous pirate accent.

"You are enjoying this way too much." Ozma dryly quipped.

While the Whisker Pirates are surprised by their surprise attack, the Avengers take immediate action starting with Sonic and Spidey taking on Whisker himself. Ozma easily overwhelms the pirate forces with his legendary magical skills, delivering a slashing-swift devastating combo with his staff before controlling gravity to send enemies in the air and knock some of them off the ship. Yang found a barrel of cannonballs after beating a group and puts on a mischievous grin. She grabs a few cannonballs and turns to the pirates with, "Who's ready for some dodgeball?" while lifting up a cannonball to the air, scaring her foes before shattering robot pirates and knocking down human pirates with cannonballs thrown like high-speed baseballs.

Meanwhile, Sonic was charging headfirst at Whisker until the pirate captain shoots his fist off his arm as a dangerous projectile. The hedgehog was quick to dodge it but wasn't quick enough to dodge it a second time when it returned like a boomerang hitting his back. Sonic was knocked to the ground at Whisker's mercy, as he breathes a powerful and destructive torrent of flames from his mouth that would've burned him alive if Spidey didn't web-yank him away. The webslinger throws him back spinballing at Whisker, dazing him then dazing him again with a large web-crafted punch before he and Sonic combine attacks that knock back the robot albeit while he blocked their attack.

"Give it up, Whisker, before we rip off your whiskers!" Sonic threatened.

"Don't get too cocky just 'cause Johnny isn't by me side to make this a proper fight. Luckily I recently made an alliance with a fearsome pirate! One who's name is feared 'cross the cosmic sea!" Whisker proclaimed, grinningly and confidently that his newest ally will help him defeat his enemies.

And right on cue, his new partner shows themselves with a blitzing kick that knocks away Sonic before striking Spider-Man with electroshock batons that then form into a staff for a devastating second strike. Spider-Man recovers from the ground to find himself shocked while being loomed over by deadliest pirate in the galaxy, Nebula.

"Nebula?! You're working with this clown?" quips Spidey, before backflipping away from her stabbing strike, "Shouldn't you be bothering Gamora to find out who is the deadliest woman in the galaxy between you two, which is certainly not you! You like, belong somewhere in the top 5!"

Nebula grins, "Trust me. After I kill you and her and help Kang conquer the timeline, I'll be THE deadliest woman in history! I'm already the deadliest, and GREATEST, pirate!"

"No you're not! That'd be ME!" Whisker fiercely retorted from the sidelines, believing himself to be the greatest pirate.

"Among robot pirates, maybe." quips Nebula while clashing with Spider-Man, "But I've plundered whole planets and conquered their seven seas. Allow me to show you how." After kicking away the webslinger, she contacts her minions to, "Activate the island's weapons system! Target the Asgardian!"

Hidden turrets from the island below reveal themselves with powerful homing missiles that lock-on the Thunder God. Before Thor knows it, he was struck down by a missile, leaving him out of the fight for a while. "Thor just got hammered!" Mayday exclaimed, before her Spider-Sense warns her of the island's laser cannon targeting the Quinjet while charging up, "And we're about to be blasted!"

Despite Wolverine's best piloting skills, it wasn't enough for the Quinjet to avoid being blasted by the laser cannon. The devastating attack blasted off some of its wings and an engine, causing the jet to spiral down out of control towards the island.

"OH NO!" The scared Chip exclaimed.

"WE'VE BEEN HIT!" Boom Knuckles exclaimed right after.

Wolverine tries to at least make a controlled crash but the attack froze the controls, but he isn't too worried since his healing factor helps him survive just about everything. His friends, might not be so lucky surviving a crash this intense. The mutant shouts at, "RAVEN! OPEN A PORTAL TO YOUR DAUGHTER BEFORE WE-!"

Only for Wolverine to be abruptly interrupted upon himself and his passengers being suddenly teleported to the flight deck of a flying warship that matches Big Swell in size and firepower. "Crash?" He remarks in confused shock, wondering how they were suddenly warped to this warship while watching the Quinjet crash onto the island.

"We're not dead? Did you save us?" Knuckles asks the bandit huntress.

"Did it look like I opened a portal in time?" Raven stoically quipped.

"No. But thankfully we showed up in time for me to teleport you outta there." quipped a female voice that surprises the group.

BGM-Sonic Rush Adventure OST-Blaze Appears

The Avengers turn around to the source of the voice, which belongs to a young purple-dressed woman that's wielding cosmic energy in her left hand. Her name is Sersi, an Eternal of Olympia and a flirtatious sorceress. By her side is Sir Lancelot, the Ultimate Knight and Shadow's counterpart from the Camelot timeline, and Blaze the Cat, Princess of the Sol Empire and Guardian of the Sol Emeralds.

Wolverine smiles, "Sersi and Blaze! And Shadow?" He glances at the black knight, "Not him but you smell similar. Anyway, thanks for the save. But weren't you girls busy somewhere else? What're we standin' on anyway?"

BGM End

"We'll explain everything later. Just know that you are standing on my airship, the Sky Raccoon, and have come to help." Blaze answered.

"The Sky Raccoon?" Mayday raises an eyebrow upon questioning the name.

"Name after our esteemed captain." Sersi grins, touching her earpiece to contact said captain, "Marine! We saved the Avengers! Time for that counterattack!"

'I'm the captain 'ere, mate! I give out the orders!' retorts Marine the Raccoon, the young energetic captain of her own ship.

BGM-One Piece: Pirate Warriors 2 OST-Speed of Sound

It's in the command deck where Marine controls her ship and gives out orders through the intercom. "Alright, mateys! It's time for our counterattack! How are our shields lookin', Oscar?!" She asks her teammate.

Beside his captain is Oscar Pine, world-saving farmboy and the future incarnation of Ozma, as he checks their ship's energy readings. "Looking great!" He informs her.

"Orright! Now how 'bout those weapons, Rocket? Ready for some blastin'?!" Marine excitedly asks her other teammate.

At the controls for their weapons, a Baby Groot jumps onto the shoulder of Rocket Raccoon, fellow Guardian of the Galaxy that loves things going boom. Rocket smiles, "Don't have to tell me twice, kid! I love blowing stuff up!" before operating their ship to launch devastating missiles that blows up sections of the Big Swell and catches the villains off their guard.

"What's this?!" Nebula takes a quick breather while glancing at the Sky Raccoon assaulting them.

"The cat princess is here already?! I can't deal with this reunion! SOMEONE BLOW THEIR SHIP DOWN TO DAVY JONES' LOCKER!" Whisker furiously orders his crew to counterattack.

From cannonballs to missiles, weapons are sent flying as the Sky Raccoon and Big Swell wage war across the sky. The Sky Raccoon seem to be gaining an advantage, prompting the pirates to jump aboard their ship for a better chance to knock it out of the sky. Unfortunately for them, they are met with resistance from mobian koala soldiers led by Blaze and the Avengers.

"Here they come!" Sir Lancelot wields his sacred sword, Arondight, while getting into his fighting stance.

"Show no fear, men! Work together and drive them off our ship!" Blaze orders her crew.

The armies collide as Blaze launches one of the first attacks, kicking down a Kaizoku Gun robot before using Spinning Claw to pirouette through more enemies while surrounding herself with flames. Wolverine and Lancelot work side-by-side demolishing enemies, with the mutant shredding through enemies with his claws while the hedgehog strikes his foes with teleporting sword slashes. Spider-Woman web-pulls goons to Knuckles, who uppercuts them off the ship right before Raven pushes pirates back so Sersi could dance around them while leaving behind energy orbs that unleash powerful beams that swiftly defeats them.

Chip was on his own, running away from pirates then protecting himself with an energy barrier to deflect their blows until he was timely reunited by Thor, who storms down on the ship with a thunderous blow from his hammer that viciously blows the pirates away from Light Gaia. "Thor, you're okay! Hurray!" Chip exclaims in joy.

"Aye. In time for your protection and the pleasure vanquishing these pirates!" Thor smiles, as he and Chip join their friends against the remaining pirates.

Meanwhile on the Big Swell, it is on the verge of being destroyed while its epic battles are drawing to a close. Nebula is in the air throwing her electrified batons down at Spider-Man one by one, only for the webslinger to dodge them before web-slamming her to the ground. She swiftly sweeps him off his feet while grabbing her weapons then attempts to kill him, only for a flying punch to the face from Yang prevents her from doing so.

Nebula grunts angrily at the hero couple, "We're losing altitude. You're so lucky that reinforcements came to save your pathetic hides!"

"Me? Lucky? That's very rare." Spidey quips while web-yanking away Nebula's batons, leaving her vulnerable for a finishing combo from the married couple. Both Spidey and Yang rush at Nebula with their Spider-Dragon Assault combo, relentlessly beating her together from two opposite sides while in complete sync before kicking her up to the air for the finisher.

Yang grins while channeling her Aura into her reeled-back fist, ready to unleash a large energy fist. "This was fun." She said from one side of Nebula.

At the same time, Spider-Man crafts another large Web Punch that he's itching to unleash. "Bye!" He sang from the opposite side of Nebula. Husband and wife unleash their respective punches at Nebula, immediately knocked out cold from the powerful force of spider and dragon.

Nearby, Whisker is being double-teamed by the combined power of Sonic and Ozma. The robot captain attempts to burn the ancient huntsman with his flames, only for Ozma to protect himself with his barrier before cleaving through the flames to pierce his target several times with his staff, knocking him to the air for Sonic to finish off with a smashing axe kick.

"It's over, Whisker! Face it! You and your crew are sunk!" Sonic mocks him.

"D'AARRRR! Beaten by the likes of you again! This cannot be!" Whisker whines about his second defeat by the hands of Sonic the Hedgehog and his friends.

As the Big Swell explodes while moments away from crashing, Blaze calls out to her friends on that ship with, "SONIC! Hurry and get onboard!" prompting those in Sonic's group to nod at each other and outrun an explosion, jumping off the ship and onto the Sky Raccoon.

"This isn't over! You may have beaten me, and I may be under Nega's thumb fer now. But you'll all get a comeuppance! Mark my words, ye scurvy dogs!" Whisker ominously proclaims whilst his exploding ship crashes into Pirates' Island.

BGM End

A safe distance away, the Avengers and Blaze's crew watch a column of black smoke from where the Big Swell used to be while the koalas celebrate their victory. "There goes the pirates." Sonic commented.

"Yes. But I doubt that'll be the last we encounter them. Whisker has a habit of showing up at the wrong time." Blaze remarked.

BGM-Sonic Rush Adventure OST-Normal

Sonic smiles, "Got that right! Thanks for the save, Blaze!" He then turns to Marine, "You too, Marine! Long time no see! You've certainly grown last time I saw ya! I'm impressed."

Marine cockily chuckles, "Tol'ja you'd be blown away. Got my own crew and been on TONS of adventures 'cross the sea! Even helped built this big ship for the Sol Empire, and Blaze allowed me to name it! Strewth! Every day has been a BLAST!"

"Heh. Energetic as always." Sonic smiled, happy to see his old friend again after several years.

"It's an honor fighting by your side once again, Sir Sonic. Sir Yang." Sir Lancelot greets his old allies after such a long time, as they are surprised to be reunited with Shadow's Camelot counterpart.

"Sir? Unless you had a sex change that you were too embarrassed to tell me-." Peter jokes with his wife, who elbows him in the chest for being annoying.

"Lancelot? Guess I shouldn't be THAT surprise to see you here. Did Marine convince you to join her crew?" Sonic jokes with his Camelot rival.

Lancelot scoffs while turning his face away, "Absolutely not. I'm only working alongside the child for my own reason."

"You certainly ACT like the Shadow I know." quips an annoyed Boom Knuckles, before facing the two raccoons of the crew, "And why does that raccoon remind me of Sticks?" He questions while scratching his confused head, almost confusing Marine for Sticks since they look awfully similar.

"You better be talkin' about this girl!" The annoyed Rocket points at the girl raccoon.

"I am Groot." Baby Groot smiled while sitting atop of his best friend's shoulder.

"No I'm pretty sure he's talking 'bout HER!" Rocket retorted.

"This day has been confusing, for everyone." Oscar said.

"How so for you?" Ozma smiles while confronting the young farmboy.

Oscar nervously replies, "Well, it's because I'm, uh…you, from the future."

Completely surprised to be meeting his future counterpart, Ozma retorts, "Me?! You are one of my future reincarnations?!" He frowns, "I can tell that you went through a lot in your timeline simply because your soul is bonded to my cursed one. I apologize."

Oscar smiles, "That's okay. This is a little weird, but, it is an honor to meet you."

"Likewise." Ozma smiles back.

"Who would've thought that kid from Midtown High would become another Ozpin?" Yang quipped.

"Why are you surprised? Aren't you the Yang from my world?" Oscar asked her.

"Nope. But I'm sure I'm as awesome as the one from your world." Yang beams out a cheeky smile.

"You are. As is the rest of Team RWBY." Oscar smiled.

BGM End

"That's enough of the meet-and-greet! We have other things to take care of!" Wolverine intervened, wanting to switch to more serious topics.

"Such as…?" Sersi quips while crossing her arms, waiting for what the X-Man has to say.

"Finding the Chaos Emerald at Blizzard Peaks. We need all seven if we want to stop Kang. But those pirates kept us busy and shot down our jet." Wolverine informs his newest allies.

"I see. Seems fate had us cross paths for a reason." Sersi proclaimed with a serious tone.

"Whaddya mean?" Sonic questions the Eternal.

BGM-Sonic Rush Adventure OST-Tense

Sersi explains, "Before we came to your rescue, we were on a hunt for a monster that have been wreaking havoc across this timespace. It's been destroying cities and killing innocent people. Military and other heroes have tried to fight it. None of them survived."

"Really? What could it be?" Chip asked.

Sersi glances at Blaze, prompting the cat to reveal a fiery feather in her hand, "We managed to find this. Left behind by the creature during its rampage."

"That feather looks familiar…" Thor noticed.

"It's also emitting so much energy that it's causing my Spider-Sense to go nuts!" Peter commented.

"Lemme see…" Wolverine is kindly handed the feather and sniffs it, using his mutant senses to hopefully learn where this feather came from. He grunts with a scowl, upon realizing who has feathers like this one, "Yeah…I recognize this smell. It belongs to the Phoenix!"

This revelation surprises his friends to the very core, as most of them know the Phoenix Force is one of the most powerful cosmic entities that have ever rampaged throughout the universe. "WHAT?! THE PHOENIX?! AS IN THE PHOENIX FORCE?! THAT Phoenix?!" The horrified Spider-Man exclaimed.

"It's not Phoenix Wright, that's for sure! And it doesn't smell like Jean's the host of this one. This one smells foreign. Ancient. As if they're from a long-forgotten past." Wolverine retorted.

"This Phoenix must smell really bad to eat." Marine quips, understandably ignorant of the Phoenix's destructive capabilities.

"It's usually the other way around. The Phoenix likes to devour worlds and drive its host insane." Rocket quipped before continuing, "We figured it was the fire chicken once I got the chance to scan its feather. We've been using it to track it down and traced its trajectory towards Blizzard Peaks, the same island with your Emerald." He informs the Avengers.

"Could it be after the Chaos Emerald? Why? It's already wicked powerful. You'd think it'd be after the Sol Emeralds considering they're both made of fire." Sonic wonders if the Phoenix is hunting down Chaos Emeralds.

"I sensed something different about the Phoenix. I don't know what it is yet, but we need to hurry and stop it before it reaches the Emerald. Otherwise this entire Chrono World will be in danger." Sersi proclaimed.

"Then what're we standing around here for? Let's get this boat rowing!" Sonic retorted, ready for some Phoenix hunting.

Marine enthusiastically points to the direction of their destination as she exclaims, "You heard me mate! Set course for Blizzard Peaks! We have ourselves a Phoenix to catch!"

KFX Here: Sorry folks that this chapter took way too long but I had work and other priorities that required my full attention. This chapter was originally gonna include a fight with Dark Phoenix, but I've decided to make that its own chapter. You all waited long enough.
