Our new venture took us to the Sol Realm in search for a Chaos Emerald, but we were forced to take a pit stop to fight robot and space pirates and reunite with some old friends like Blaze and Sersi. They need help hunting down the Phoenix Force, which has been on a rampage and is closing in on the Chaos Emerald. Not so fast, fire rooster! That Emerald is ours for the taking!

The Phoenix hunt is on. All hands on deck as the Sky Raccoon tracks the Phoenix heading towards Blizzard Peaks, which is also holding a Chaos Emerald. It won't be long until they reach the winter island so the Sol Empire Soldiers are preparing themselves for a heated battle that could easily have them all killed. Luckily, they're allowed to place their fates in the Avengers, as most of them relax in different sections of the ship until they arrive at their destination, with Blaze and Thor having a casual stroll through a hallway as they talk.
"You seem anxious, Princess. Please, tell me what troubles you." Thor politely asks, noticing Blaze looking a little stressed out.
"It's simply my duties as Princess. First Kang imprisons my kingdom in this twisted dimension of his to conquer, then rises the Phoenix Force destroying my kingdom. There's a lot at stake, and it's certainly taking a toll trying to protect everyone." Blaze admits to being a little stressed.
Thor sympathizes with the Sol Princess as he responds with, "Aye. I understand your plight quite well. We both come from royal families that have vowed to protect our homes from any threat with our entire being. But there are times when that isn't enough." He then smiles at her, "Lucky we have made many friends that are willing to come to our aid when the situation is dire. It is the power of our bonds that can overcome ANY obstacle. You have proven time and again to be an exceptional friend, Blaze. Your kingdom is blessed to have a strong noble leader. I am honored to be fighting by your side."
The words of the Asgardian Prince certainly helped lift the Sol Princess's spirits as they remind her of the same lesson she learned from Sonic during their first encounter. Smiling, Blaze offers to shake hands with Thor, who kindly accepts as she says, "Thank you, Thor. I needed that. Let us work together to protect both our kingdoms from this war."
Elsewhere inside a lounge room, Wolverine is drinking from his cup of beer while relaxing alongside Sir Lancelot, Oscar, and Sersi. The young farmboy is eating from a lunchbox alongside the Eternal reading a book, while the hedgehog knight simply sips a glass of water. After putting down his beer for a moment, Wolverine looks at Sersi to ask her, "So is it true you and Cia were pals back in the day?"
"Don't believe her?" Sersi smirkingly quips as she shrugs, "Sure she can be a bit of a hardass and can be easily made jealous, but she's always honest. Yeah, Cia and I are best friends. Same is said with the Eternals and Chronoans."
"And what exactly ARE Eternals?" A curious Oscar asked.
"I've been curious of that myself. Are they all as powerful as you?" Lancelot added.
"We Eternals were born with cosmic energy thanks to space gods known as Celestials that created us to protect the world. And we've been doing a good job of that for many eons. It's how we got so cozy with the Chronoans. We both shared the desire defending the planet with the powers are gods gifted us. Me personally spent the beginnings of my immortal life exploring and having adventures alongside history's famous people like Odysseus, Merlin, and Thomas Chatterton." Sersi explained.
Logan smiles, "Must've been fun. So how did you become friends with Cia?"
"We met when I enrolled in her school to learn more of Chronoa's Time Magic. Our first project together was to raise a magic bird egg. Nearly failed when it was almost used for breakfast." Sersi chuckles, relieving the good times with her childhood Chronoan friend in her head while staring out into space, "We sure had a lot of fun adventures back then. And when we were not having fun, she was always studying hard to become a master sorceress, to protect the kingdom that she loves." She then frowns, "Good timing, when war was on the horizon."

"The war against Apocalypse." Logan said stoically.
"Apocalypse?" Oscar turns to him for a brief description of this supervillain.
"Think Salem but as a mutant madman that wanted to conquer the world for the strong, but the Chronoans wouldn't allow that and fought against him." Logan briefed, having been told about the Great Apocalypse War by Cia herself some time ago.
BGM-Hyrule Warriors OST-Guilty Feeling
Sersi says, "Me and a few Eternals helped in the war to stop him, while Cia was always home protecting her little sister. In the end, Apocalypse was defeated when the Chronoans summoned their Sun God Solaris, but he went overboard and nearly destroyed the entire world."
"I heard. It was after he went crazy is when they sealed him away." Logan remarked.
"But not without COUNTLESS sacrifice." Sersi says somberly while looking down with guilt and sorrow, "Almost all of Chronoa was destroyed and there were little survivors. I was away on Eternal business when that fateful day happened, so you can imagine how horrified I was to learn of Chronoans being killed by their own god. I thought Cia was among those that died…I had no idea she was sent to another dimension for her safety, much less that she would later become this… 'Sorceress Supreme of Time' that's been helping the Avengers preventing another Chronoa disaster."
"I can imagine her goals are mostly driven by guilt for failing to protect her home." Lancelot believed.
"I can relate…One part of me truly does…" Oscar frowns, feeling his Ozpin soul sympathizing with Cia's plight. "But why would Solaris want to destroy the world? His own 'children'? The Chronoans worshipped him! Was he angry that Apocalypse waged war on his kingdom?" The confused farmboy asked.
Wolverine scoffs at the boy, "You really are Ozma. He was questionin' Solaris's motives earlier." He joked. "'Member hearing from Shadow one time that Solaris was born to test mankind. To see if we have what it takes to fight fate. Doesn't add up to what Chip said 'bout him being a Time Keeper." The mutant growls with annoyance at Solaris's mysterious origins and purpose, "So many legends about Solaris…Just to hide his bullshit."
"In many ways, Solaris is like the Phoenix we are about to face. They are flames that have shined their light upon the universe, birthing life and purpose." Sersi says, thinking about Solaris and Phoenix's respective bird forms, "Yet there is a darkness that dwells within each of them that hungers only for absolute destruction." She then thinks about their inner darkness, which is Mephiles for Solaris and Dark Phoenix for the Phoenix Force, "Question is…Which of the Flames burn brighter and deadlier?" She asked a serious question that receives no answer for the time being.

Meanwhile, Yang walks to the flight deck to find something fun to do before they arrive at their destination. All of her friends are busy with other priorities at the moment, such as her stumbling upon her husband taking a photo with his daughter from the future. "One for J.J., Webheads!" says Modern Sonic, being their photographer.
Both Parkers stand side-by-side shooting a thumbs-up at the camera, which was amazingly perfect for Sonic to snap. "Amazing!" The hedgehog smiled.
"That's what we're all about." Peter quips while taking the camera from him, "Your turn, family pet. Marine and the other two little buddies can join this one."
"I don't mind being called uncle." Sonic quips, joining Marine, Chip, and Baby Groot as they stand alongside Mayday to have a photo with the lady webslinger.
"I am Groot." Groot poses on Marine's shoulder for the camera.
"Aren't you the cutest thing ever?" Marine gushes her love for the adorable little tree creature.
Yang smiles from the sidelines, happy for spider-father and daughter spending some quality time together since this is a rare and unusual circumstance for them to be doing this. A part of her also wants to spend time with her future step-daughter and approaches the group after they took their pictures, with Chip being the first to notice as he flies up to her and pulls out a chocolate bar, "Hey Yang. Want some chocolate?"
"Oh. Thanks." Yang responds with the utmost sincere smile at that kind offer before taking his chocolate bar.
"Hey beautiful!" Peter called her out, "Want to take a photo with Spider-Woman? She got the cool idea to take some pictures of us and this Time War for her scrapbook."
"Figured 'Why not? It'd be fun.' It's not all the time you get to go on a crazy time traveling adventure with a younger version of your dad.'" Mayday quipped.
"Thanks, but, I'm good." Yang lied.
The confused Peter tilts his head at her, "You sure? She is, well, KINDA related to you." He reminds her of Mayday being her step-daughter, "This is a rare opportunity! This might be the last chance you get before the Phoenix burns us like an overcooked turkey on Thanksgiving."
"That won't happen. I hear Rocket's building some Phoenix-busting weapon in the lab. You and May can go help him out. Spend some more time together." Yang suggested to avoid answering his question.
"Okay…" Peter replies unenthusiastically, genuinely wanting Yang and Mayday to hang out together as mother and daughter and is getting worried they won't get that chance. The father webslinger gestures to his daughter saying, "C'mon, kid. Let's see if you're as smart as your old man."
"Didn't know 21 is considered 'old' in your timeline." May snarked while following her father into the ship.
"Ha. You've certainly inherited the family wit." Peter quipped.
Before walking away himself, Sonic shoots a worried glance at Yang as she walks off alone. He can tell something is bothering her and it clearly has to do with Mayday. He wants to help, talk to her about it and see if he can solve her problem, but he doesn't before walking away with Marine, Groot, and Chip. Simply because he noticed something, or someone else, that is more fitting to help her than himself.
BGM-Boruto: Naruto Next Generations OST-Child's Growth
Yang relaxes her crossed arms on a railing, staring somberly into this turquoise void that is the Sol Realm. She takes a bite from her chocolate bar with a frown, clearly upset but doesn't want to talk about what she is upset about to anyone. Not to her friends. Not to her husband. Just to the silence that she hopes won't be disturbed by a surprise.
"Down in the dumps. I wonder why?" The silence was disturbed by Raven Branwen, surprising her daughter as she stoically approaches her from the side, "Must have something to do with your step-daughter from the future."
Yang scowls at her estranged mother, "Lucky guess. Eavesdropping as usual. Makes me wonder which of us is the worst mother."
"Clearly not you." Raven admits to being a terrible mother while continuing, "But why consider yourself?"
"Might be because I'm not destined to be a mother. At least not one married to Peter." Yang frowns again while turning away from her mother, "We love each other dearly, but…what if that was a mistake? What if each of us was meant for someone else? May told me there are many worlds that answered those questions. Almost all of them have Peter coupled with Mary Jane and live a happy life together. The same could've happened in our reality if I didn't show up and ruin things. They do share a long history."
"You don't consider yourself as worthy?" Raven questioned.
"MJ doesn't have any powers, but has proven to hold her own in any situation. She's fearless. Unlike me, who wasn't able to cope with death for some time…" Yang hauntingly reminisces the final deadly battles of the Infinity War and how they traumatized her during the following gang war thanks to The Chaoskiller. "Peter deserves a strong woman that'll always be there to support him. I dunno…Maybe I'm just jealous not being as compatible."
Raven shoots a genuine glance of concern at her depressed daughter, closing her eyes for a moment to regain her collected composure before staring out into the distance by her side. She says to her daughter, "There's no reason to be jealous when you have proven to be just as strong, if not stronger." She begins to say some words of encouragement that instantly captures her daughter's attention, "When I left the family when you were a kid, you were the one keeping them together for years. That takes real strength. And you've grown stronger through your relationship with Peter. He's been the one inspiring you to be greater, while you've been the one caring him to take things easy."
"Yeah…He's the yin to my Yang." Yang responded.
"And you can't get more compatible than that." Raven said while turning to her daughter, "What if you two were destined for someone else. You're not a child anymore. You're old enough to make your own decisions. YOU decide your own destiny! Don't let anyone tell you otherwise!" She advises softly.
Those words stunned Yang, yet so heartwarming to be given such kind advice from a mother that abandoned her for most of her life. Yang smiles confidently, "I won't! I'll decide my own future! And I'll keep getting stronger to pave way for that future, for everyone's sake!"
Raven scoffs but with a proud smile at her daughter, "That's good."

'Um, hello?! This is Tabby of the Coconut Crew speakin'!' The adventurous koala speaks through the ship's intercoms, earning the huntresses' attention, 'Just want to inform everyone that we're 10 minutes away from Blizzard Peaks, and from the looks of it half of the island is on fire.'
BGM-Sonic Rush Adventure OST-Tense
"FIRE?!" Both Raven and Yang exclaims in utter surprise from that announcement as they begin to notice massive amounts of smoke emitting from ahead of the ship. They look out into the distance from the edge to find the source, and when they did, they were horrified to spot a floating winter island ablaze.
Inside the Command Deck…
Tabby wasn't kidding about Blizzard Peaks' current condition. The island appears to be surrounded by a sea of fire on one side and icebergs on the other. All of this is seen by the heroes from a television screen, using a camera drone built by Rocket for reconnaissance.
"This is crazy! Half of the island really is embroiled in flames! This must be the work of the Phoenix!" A shocked Sonic comments on the video footage.
"Luckily my scans say it's still on the island along with the Chaos Emerald, so we're not THAT late." Rocket informs the team.
"Then we better make this meeting fast and hope the Vikings can hold out." Blaze hoped, being familiar with the polar bear Vikings that lives on that island. "What's the status of the Phoenix-Killer?" She turns to Rocket with that question.
In response, the snarky Guardian whips out an energy rifle cannon that's nearly as big as his whole body to hold, "It's still not operational yet. Even when it is, we'll only have one shot."
"Do or die, huh?" Raven dryly quips while crossing her arms in annoyance at this increasingly-deadly mission.
Rocket quips, "Ya can't harness enough energy to atomize a big-ish moon or a small-ish planet with SOME drawbacks." He pats his weapon several times while saying, "In this case, this baby's powered by that Phoenix Feather we found. Still packing enough cosmic energy that SHOULD neutralize its powers temporarily, long enough for me to contain it with my new dimensional prison device." He holds out a small device that'll help them contain the weakened Phoenix.
"Why go through all that trouble? Strewth, just kick the old bird into the ocean! Problem solved!" Marine enthusiastically recommends an alternative means to beat the Phoenix Force.
"It's not that easy, kid. Trust me." Wolverine retorts, speaking from his intense experiences with the Phoenix and the emotional hardships that came alongside them.
"Still a good back-up plan." Spider-Man remarked.
Marine cockily smirks at the other raccoon, "See? Got a mate supportin' my brilliant plan."
"Brilliantly dumb." Rocket snarks, earning the captain's steamed glare.
"Ya mockin' yer captain? Best apologize!" She retorted.
"When you grow up to be a decent captain, I will." Rocket snarked.
"If all else fails, I will not hesitate to absorb the Phoenix into myself." Blaze says stoically to get back on topic, surprising her friends with her outright crazy plan as she continues, "My soul is already alit with flames, and the Phoenix is known for wanting a host. I will be its vessel, then you can seal us away."
Her words spark a memory in the mind of the Avengers that recently journeyed to a post-apocalypse future where Iblis destroyed the world. The Avengers tried to seal it away but failed, prompting the Blaze of that timeline to use herself as the vessel to imprison Iblis while sealing herself in another dimension, which left her friends devastated from her sacrifice.
Spider-Man, one of the Avengers that took part in that miserable mission, retorts, "Whoa, whoa, whoa kitty cat! No reason for that! You tried that once before with another fire monster and we all hated it!"
"I have no idea what you're talking about, yet I can't shake the feeling that I do…" Blaze says, starting to receive vague memories of her future self and her demise, "Nonetheless, I will do whatever it takes to protect my kingdom!"
"Understandable, Princess, and we will do everything in our power to support you. And I will make extra certain that no friend beside me will sacrifice themselves unless I no longer draw breath!" Thor declared, not wanting to lose another Blaze before his eyes.
With an understanding nod, Blaze retorts, "Then let us move out, together!"

Blizzard Peaks
BGM-Sonic Adventure OST-Snowy Mountain (Icecap)
Leaving behind their koala friends at the Sky Raccoon, the Avengers ventured off into the frozen portion of Blizzard Peaks. They thread carefully across the freezing snow in their hunt for the Phoenix Force, at the cost of those without Aura or wearing winter clothing to endure the chilling weather.
Chip shivers while flying through the cold air, "Brrr, i-i-it's cold!"
"It's FREEZING! Can we put on the heater?" The shivering Boom Knuckles asks, hugging himself for warmth.
"Sure. Go find it." Yang dryly quips while walking ahead of the echidna.
And like the idiot he is, Knuckles actively glances his surroundings for a heater. He then looks at his wrist communicator and suddenly remembers his Fire Mode. Happily, he presses the communicator to envelop himself with a warm fiery aura that protects him from the cold. "Found the heater! It was on my wrist the whole time! Anyone who wants to be toasty, stay closey to me!" He proudly thumbs at himself, allowing the likes of Marine, Chip, Mayday, Oscar, and Baby Groot to hang near him for warmth while the unamused Yang rolls her eyes.
Blaze approaches Wolverine and Spider-Man, both who were placed in charge of leading the team to the Phoenix with their special abilities to sense out danger. "Are we any closer to the Phoenix?" The Sol Princess asked them.
"Up ahead. Definitely somewhere at the fire lands." Peter points to the fiery sea filled with dead fish bones that surrounds the burning lands.
Wolverine sniffs another direction, turning to notice a nearby village. "I'm smelling somethin' over at that village, and it's nothing good. Where do you want to go first, Blaze?"
"Let's check out the village. See if we can find any survivors." Blaze replied.
"A good idea to delay death for another few minutes." Peter quipped.
"If you're that anxious to get it over with, you can go fight the Phoenix yerself." Wolverine snarks while leaving Spidey alone.
"Don't leave me. I hate dying all alone and barbecued." He joked as he rushes to reunite with him and his friends.

But what the group found upon arriving at the village was nothing funny or pleasant. The village was recently attacked with igloos looking mostly melted. And the Vikings that live here and would protect their home until their last breath. All of them lay dead, with some burnt to a crisp by a mysterious fiery force.
"No…These were…the Vikings…" Sonic comments on the horror he is staring at.
"We were too late. The Phoenix got to them…" Blaze says somberly, mourning the loss of the Vikings alongside her friends.
BGM-Marvel Future Revolution OST-Hydra Empire Theme
Besides Blaze, Thor is hurt the most by the Vikings' death considering he befriended and fought glorious battles alongside Vikings ages ago. He mournfully kneels to the corpse of a Viking polar bear to say this, "I am sorry that we did not come to your aid sooner, fellow Vikings, but I know you all fought valiantly right to the end." He stands firmly with newfound determination, "Let you be honored in Valhalla while we avenge your deaths."
"Well well well. Look at what the cat dragged in." Suddenly, the heroes heard the taunt of an awfully hated egg-shaped man as they turn to the sky, spotting the eerily grin of Eggman Nega as he descends on his Egg Mobile.
The glaring Thor snarls at the wicked scientist, "You! The wicked doctor of the future!"
"Eggman Nega! How dare you show yourself after all you've done!" Blaze scowls at her arch-nemesis.
"My dear, is that any way to greet your old friend?" Nega quipped.
"Don't think I haven't been informed of your recent atrocities. Unleashing Iblis onto my friends' world and reviving an ancient kingdom so it may be used as a weapon on time itself. Despicable, just as you've always been!" Blaze retorted.
Nega chuckles, "You flatter me."
"As much as we would enjoy cracking you wide open right here and now, we have more important things to take care of." Sonic quipped, knowing the unlimited danger that is the Phoenix Force takes top priority.
"You mean finding the Chaos Emerald? Or stopping the Phoenix Force? Unfortunately for you…" Nega taunted, then begins to surprise them with something truly terrifying. Not only he flauntingly reveals the turquoise Chaos Emerald in his hand, but he summons the Dark-Masked Phoenix that has been the source of all troubles in the Sol Realm by his side, having it warped in a blaze of glory to surprise them even further, "Mwa ha ha ha! Both are already under my control!"
"That's bull! An idiot like you can't control the Phoenix!" Wolverine insults the mad doctor.
"Quite the opposite. I'm the genius that perfectly utilized Kang's technology to create a Mask that can draw out power beyond normal limits while the user succumbs to my FULL control. And who better to control than the host of one of the most powerful cosmic entities in any universe!" Eggman Nega boasts his achievements to his enemies, "We just got finish burning the Vikings to oblivion. Let us send you all along for the ride with THESE feisty critters!"

BGM-One Piece: Pirate Warriors 4 OST-A Deadly Battle
Pressing a button on his Egg Mobile, Nega summons a storm of familiar fiery creatures that come in different shapes and sizes and roaringly charges into battle. "What the heck are these things?!" exclaims Mayday while leaping away from a Biter.
"Iblis Monsters!" Spidey said, jumping above an Iblis Biter so he may promptly ground pound it. "How many times have we fought these little hotheaded demons in this Time War?" He quips while jumping away from an Iblis Worm erupting from the ground, "Startin' to get annoyed of them rearing their ugly heads outta nowhere!" right before he hurls a Shock Web Grenade into its mouth, causing the creature to implode.
"Now that the Sol Vessel is back in our possession, I can once again harness Iblis's power to fuel my latest Solaris Prototype: The Solaris Master System! Show them no mercy, my pets!" Eggman Nega boasted before laughing maniacally.
Several Iblis Takers bombard the battlefield with their fireballs, distracting the likes of Wolverine to be smacked away by an Iblis Golem. The mutant tries to get up, only to be immediately tackled back down by a Biter ferociously trying to bite his head off. "Be careful, team! What these critters may lack in numbers, they make up for it in ferocity!" Wolverine informs his friends before managing to push back and slash the Biter to death.
"Then let us partner up and hit them TWICE as fierce!" Blaze suggested.
Using her variant of the Homing Attack called Fire Claw, the Sol Princess assists Sonic in knocking down monsters with quick strikes. Partnering with Sir Lancelot, Sersi stuns a group of monsters with her powers allowing the ultimate knight to kill most with a wide red, "CHAOS SLASH!" before killing the rest with a powerful Chaos Spear. Comboing with Spider-Woman, Boom Knuckles switches to his Ice Mode to uppercut a lunging Biter into the air, freezing it for the leaping Mayday to web-slam it down atop a swarm.
"These monsters really remind me a lot of the Grimm!" Oscar says to Yang while killing a Biter with a single jumping hit from his Long Memory cane.
"At least most of them aren't on fire or vomits fire!" quips Yang, rolling away from a Biter's fire breath before shooting it down.
"Both Grimm and these creatures hunger for destruction." says Ozma while impressively fighting back-to-back with his future counterpart, "Yet while the Grimm were created from darkness, these fire demons were forged from the light. They are frightenedly similar in multiple aspects. Hmm, I wonder…" He starts to ponder on their similarities.
"You believe there might be a connection between Solaris and the Gods of Remnant?" Oscar guessed correctly, since he is his reincarnation.
"I am not certain. Solaris is a God of Light, but not the one we are familiar with. It is said that Solaris's legend transcends time and space, impacting multiple worlds in a variety of ways of forms. It is possible Remnant is one of those worlds that he left an influence…" Ozma speculates, which starts to get Oscar curious on Solaris's possible connection to his world.

Meanwhile, Marine walks up to a terrifying Iblis Golem, confronting it with a brave face and questionable confidence. "Hey you! Yeah, I'm talkin' to ya, DADS!" She insults the giant creature with that Australian accent of hers, earning its attention as she continues to talk, "It's 'bout time the captain of this crew joins the fight. I'm not afraid of ya and yer mates' fire. TAKE THIS!" She delivers a strong kick to the Golem's shins and waits for its reaction. After a moment of silence, she realizes her kick had no effect as the creature menacingly looms over her. "Hmm. Thought that would hurt." She said casually, before immediately running away from its fiery punch.
BGM-One Piece: Pirate Warriors 4 OST-Admiral
Amidst battle, Raven notices Marine humorously running away from the Golem and glances at Rocket, "Rocket, your little sister's causing trouble."
"She's NOT my sister! Groot, go get her outta trouble!" Rocket orders the baby tree to run and save Marine.
"You're sending the baby to a man's job?" Raven snarks while wiping out a small Iblis Monster squadron on her own.
Rocket then deviously smirks, "Anyone can man up with the future tech that I stole from one of Kang's buddies! Show 'em, pal!"
Rushing to Marine's aid, the tiny Groot whips out a floating gizmo that imbues him with time energy that turns him big and strong. "I…am…GROOOOOOT!" From baby to adult, Groot lets out a battle roar as he saves Marine with a powerful punch to the Golem. The fire beast retaliates with a few punches that knocks back the gentle giant until he shows off his unique plant physiology to grow his limbs into the earth and surprise his foe with a killing blow through its skull.
"Whoa! Didn't know tree babies could grow up so fast!" Marine smiles, thankful for the rescue.
"I am Groot." Adult Groot smiles back at his rescued friend.

His army's numbers are dwindling, yet Eggman Nega remains calm and composed in the sky. He eerily chuckles at his enemies, tauntingly muttering, "Look at them, exhausting themselves with appetizers. Dark Phoenix…" He turns to his mind-controlled slave, "Time to give them the main course."
"As you wish, master." Dark-Masked Phoenix responds with an obedient tone, expressing that she is, for the most part, under the Chronos Corps's control.
BGM-Sonic the Hedgehog (2006) OST-Iblis
Building up her energy, Phoenix engulfs herself in a flaming phoenix-shaped aura. She thrusts her hands forward, waiting for her master to shout, "ATTACK, with Phoenix Rage!" so she may fire a huge cosmic phoenix raptor at the surprised heroes, burning them alive as they are sent flying across the island all the way to the burning lands.
Luckily, the heroes crashed on molten rock and not in the sea of fire, but the crash did knock out some of them for the time being and the rest severely injured. Wolverine coughs in pain, being one of the first to stand back up thanks to his ever-reliable healing factor, "Using the Phoenix as a Pokemon…Bub really loves playin' with fire…"
"It's a trend with him…" The wounded Sonic quips, referencing the other times Nega tried to harness immeasurable fire powers like the Sol Emeralds, the Ifrit, and most recently Iblis.
The heroes look to the sky and spot Masked Phoenix flying to the battlefield, here to properly begin their fiery deathmatch. "Your destiny is at its end, Avengers! The Dark Phoenix has come to destroy you ALL!" She declared maliciously.
Thor retorts while thrusting his finger at the villain, "We will see about THAT! Sonic, together! Let us not hold back!"
Sonic nods at the thunderer before flexing out his Cosmic Boost: Lightning Mode. The electrified hedgehog jumps to the air and spins around Phoenix at high speed while he and the Thor combine their powers to summon a massively powerful tornado of lightning that the Thunderer shouts as, "MIGHTY SONIC TORNADO!" in an attempt to blow out the Phoenix's flames.
The intense winds nearly blow away the other heroes as they struggle to stay still. The Phoenix, however, endures the electrified winds that only serve as a minor annoyance. "Do you REALLY think your puny powers can mean anything to me?" She mocks them, right before she easily repels Sonic's incoming Spin Attack with her mind, sending him crashing onto Thor.
"She just took down both Sonic and a god without even trying!" A frightened Oscar comments, as this is his first time fighting anyone above Salem that possesses true godlike power.
"Where's that weapon?!" Blaze shouts at Rocket, who is desperately trying to finish his Phoenix-Killer in the middle of this heated fight.
"WORKING ON IT!" Rocket retorted while being protected by Groot, Chip, and Marine.
In the meantime, Phoenix continues to toy with the weaklings that are revered as heroes. She reflects a powerful cosmic blast that was fired by Sersi, right before turning a giant boulder that Knuckles was going to throw at her into gold that crushes him from the increased weight. "This is too easy. You only provide me with annoyance. Frustration." She taunted them.
Nearby, Eggman Nega watches the fight from the sidelines with a smile on his face, enjoying the destruction his cosmic slave is unleashing onto the heroes. He thinks, 'Good, Phoenix. You're as powerful as the legends say. Even with your powers inhibited, our enemies can't help but be overwhelmed. And I can't help but notice your energy readings being remarkably similar to Iblis. Perhaps Mephiles was telling the truth of the Flames being born as twins. Such data will help fine tune the Solaris System.' The mad doctor then cheers her on aloud, "Kill them all, Phoenix! Burn this whole island to ashes, but keep Sonic and Spider-Man alive! We still require their Time Factor!"
Back to the battle, Raven in her bird form attempts to ambush Masked Phoenix from behind while she's distracted blocking blasts from the more grounded heroes. Swiftly and quick, she turns human and swings her sword towards the throat, only to be paralyzed in midair at the last second by Phoenix, who didn't bother turning around to stop her as she sensed her coming. Sir Lancelot warps in front of her with a slash of his own, and just like Raven was paralyzed without much effort. "Begone, weaklings!" Phoenix mocked before repelling the swordsmen down at lightning speed.
But it was within this split-second she left herself vulnerable. An opening for the heroes to exploit, revealed by Mayday blinding her with webbing instantly before Wolverine tackles her to the ground. The annoyed destroyer knocks away the X-Man before she is bombarded by Spider-Man's Web Grenades. The grenades cocoon her for a moment, enough time for the webslinger to shoot out a wide electrified web to continuously electrify her amidst his quipping, "I'm no Thor, but my new Spider-Burst move should leave you shock in awe." His technique, while impressive, didn't last much longer as Phoenix furiously burst out of that predicament. "Guess I shouldn't be that shocked it didn't last." He quips while being taken aback.
The enraged Phoenix unleashes another of her Phoenix Rage at Peter, who quickly crafts a web shield for protection. It helped a little, but he was still blasted across the field in severe pain. "DAD!" An extremely worried Mayday cries out, wanting to rush to his aid if the Phoenix didn't prevent her from doing so.
"Soon you and your father will burn in hell!" Masked Phoenix claimed.
Right as she unleashes a powerful fiery blast that would've killed the young webslinger, Yang intervenes at the last second with her Semblance activated. Her hair ignites and her eyes turn red as she uses her gauntlets' recoil to hurl herself forward, landing in front of her step-daughter to block and seemingly absorb the flames with an intense grunt. "Yang?!" Mayday exclaims, left surprised by the sudden protection from her interdimensional step-mother.
"You dare try to stop me?!" Phoenix retorts with sheer annoyance, leaving her wide open for a surprise attack from the combined forces of Lightning Sonic, Blaze, Knuckles, and Thor that sends her flying into a mountain.

Using this moment as a breather, Yang collapses on her knees with exhaustion as she catches her breath. Mayday hurries to her aid, "Yang! Are you okay?"
"I'm fine…Just…a little exhausted absorbing the flames of a cosmic fire bird…" The huntress panted.
"Since when could you absorb fire? I thought your Semblance only allows you to absorb kinetic energy." Mayday recalled.
"A leftover gift after losing my cosmic mirror powers…" Yang answers that, like Sonic, she is still able to tap into a portion of her Black Vortex powers after their full potential worn out some time ago.
"Okay, I'm willing to believe that." Mayday quipped. Her expressions then turn apologetic as she says to Yang, "Listen, uh, I want to apologize for what I said back at the Tower. About not accepting you as my mother. Didn't mean to hurt your feelings. I just…still miss my family. How we were…before the Inheritors attacked us." She frowningly turns away from Yang as she continues, "Dad's dead…leaving my mom a widow and me and my brother without a father. I just miss a reality with all of us happy again, ya know."
Her words cause Yang to flashback to her childhood, when her stepmother Summer Rose was still alive and her family was happy until her untimely death. It was then when she discovered about her biological mother, Raven Branwen, and was conflicted upon learning about her thieving ways. Now understanding from where Mayday's coming from, Yang warmly smiles at her replying, "Totally. I understand missing a parent, and having trouble accepting the ugly truth about another you didn't know about until recently. I know I'm not really your mother, but I still love you. And I love Peter. I promise you, I will not allow anything threaten my family."
Yang softly touches her stepdaughter's shoulder, which she sincerely allowed with a smile behind her mask. "I can accept that…mom." Mayday said sincerely, accepting and embracing Yang as her stepmother.
"That'll be weird getting used to." Yang joked.
"If you two are done making up about something I wasn't COMPLETELY aware of until now…" A wounded Spider-Man chimes into the conversation with a little joke to get their attention, "We still have a rampaging cavewoman Phoenix to stop before she kills us all." He said with such nonchalantness.
Yang breaks off from the hug to nod, "Right, right. ROCKET!" before turning to shout at Rocket, who is still working on his superweapon.
"A FEW MORE SECONDS!" Rocket shouted back.
BGM-Super Dragon Ball Heroes OST-Big Bang Battle
The Masked Phoenix's flames continue to grow stronger and deadlier as they easily shatter through the incredible magic defensives of Oscar and Ozma before knocking them both out of the fight. She tries killing them with a potent fire blast only for it to be reflected by Blaze with her impressive fire powers, stunning the cosmic destroyer and allowing Sersi to entangle her leg with an energy whip. With all her might, the Eternal spin-throws her towards Wolverine, who slashes her to Knuckles, who follows up with a devastating icy uppercut that rockets her to the sky where Sonic and Lancelot await. Both hedgehogs blitz the Black Angel from both side at light-speed, right after she recovers to clash in the same maneuver. Shockwaves boom from all over the skies of Blizzard Peaks until Phoenix beats the hedgehogs, split seconds before she is ferociously smacked to the ground like a godly lightning bolt from Thor and his hammer powered up to the mighty max.
Really ticked off by their constant resistance, Phoenix unleashes a devastating pyrokinetic explosion that blows away all her enemies to near-death and would've destroyed the Phoenix-Killer if Chip didn't protect it and Rocket with a godly energy shield. Recovering from the blast, Yang and Mayday finally work together to distract Phoenix from afar with bullets and web bullets respectively, giving Spider-Man an opening to swing in closer with a neat trick.
"Time to fight fire with fire, Feeney! Let's see how ya can handle this heat!" Spidey quipped. Calling his bluff, Phoenix blasts him with a full taste of fire that doesn't terrify him, as he summons the Chronoblade into his hand with the additional activation of Iblis's flames that empowers the sword to match the Phoenix Force. With a single swing of the time sword, Spidey outright slices the fire beam before swinging it again to unleash a fiery energy slash. Left stunned by his counterattack, Phoenix takes the full force of that energy slash and is sent aback in considerable pain.
"Impossible! That sword and its flames! How did he gain possession of Solaris's power?" The surprised Dark Phoenix questioned.
Briefly spinning his sword, Spider-Man points it at the distracted firebird to shout, "TIME STOP!" and freeze her in time, but he's unsure how long. "ANY TIME, ROCKET!" He urgently shouts at him to finish this fight.
"Still a little unstable, but it's done! STAND BACK!" Rocket retorts, having finally completed his Phoenix-beating superweapon.
"Fire at my command! NOW!" Marine shouted with all her might.
Hopping onto Groot's shoulder for better accuracy, Rocket unleashes the one shot: an immensely powerful energy beam that slams right onto the Phoenix's chest with enough cosmic force to knock her out of Time Stop and have her screaming in pain. Yet surprisingly, she resists. With a struggle, but resisting.
"Did we win?!" Boom Knuckles asked.
"Not yet! She's resisting! Must be because of that Mask!" Rocket points out the Nega Mask that has been responsible for controlling Phoenix this whole time.
"Know what to do!" Yang retorts, launching herself alongside a war cry to deliver a fully Semblance-powered punch to the mask. The attack was strong enough to shatter the mask but it didn't completely free the Phoenix from mind-control, as now her Dark Aura is revealed and struggling to keep her under its control while fighting against Rocket's attack, which is about to lose power.
"Spider-Man, the Chronoblade! Use it to cleanse her of the darkness!" Sersi urgently exclaims at him to do before it is too late.
Spider-Man launches himself at Phoenix with one final web-zip for the final attack. With the Fire Chronoblade that is ready to be used by his hand, Spidey quips to her, "Time for you to cool off!" before delivering a single blitzing slash that cuts away Mephiles's dark influence from her soul and allowing Rocket's disruptor to finally knock her out cold.

"Whew!" Spidey exclaims as he collapses in exhaustion from a hard-fought battle, "Another day, another out-of-control god beaten…"
"Haha! You did it!" Mayday happily lunges at her father to celebrate their victory, with Yang immediately jumping into the family hug.
"Teamwork, kid. Remember. I'm not a one Spider-Man army." Peter quips while embracing his family.
"I deserve some credit for building this beautiful baby." Rocket kisses his special gun, before turning to give a flirtatious look at Blaze, "Maybe a kiss from the princess as my reward."
Blaze smirkingly scoffs, "In your dreams."
"I'll be waiting." Rocket quipped.
BGM-Sonic Rush OST-Kick the Eggman
"This is an outrage!" Eggman Nega suddenly exclaims in astonishment as he returns confronting the heroes after their victory over his most powerful slave, "How is it you imbeciles manage to defeat the Phoenix Force?!"
"Done it before, bub. Do some research next time." Wolverine mocked.
"Now hand over the Chaos Emerald, otherwise you will be the one facing flames!" Blaze threatens her arch-nemesis for the Emerald.
Nega scoffs at her threat, "Your flames don't scare me! Iblis is still mine, and soon all of the Chaos Emeralds will be too!" He retorts before making his retreat.
Sonic and Blaze exchange nods before the former quips at Nega, "Don't be such a poor loser!" The duo jumps towards the Egg Mobile, with the hedgehog performing a windy spinning kick alongside the cat performing a flaming spinning kick. "Give us back…" Sonic says as they near their foe.
"THE CHAOS EMERALD!" Both he and Blaze shouted in unison as they kick the Egg Mobile and Eggman Nega away.
"WHAAAAAA! YOU'LL REGRET THIS…!" Nega screams out his fury as he flies into the distance whilst dropping the turquoise Chaos Emerald.
Blaze scoffs at his threat while a happy Sonic spinningly grabs the falling Chaos Emerald. "Gotcha! We got ourselves our first Chaos Emerald!" Sonic smiled at their accomplishment of nabbing their first Emerald.

BGM-Sonic Rush OST-Theme of After the Fight
With the day saved, Wolverine goes to check on the unconscious Phoenix. He gently turns her over as he's curious to find out what she looks out without the mask. To his surprise, this cavewoman Phoenix shares a striking resemblance to Jean Grey, another famous host of the Phoenix Force. "This woman looks like Jean." Logan commented.
"Perhaps she is her ancestor." Thor claimed.
"Judging from her clothing, she does appear to be from the Stone Age. Back when men were just born." Logan proclaimed.
"The Phoenix Force has been around on Earth for over one million years?" A shocked Sonic commented.
"It sounds plausible. Look at me. I'm the reincarnation of a man who's been around for several millennia." Oscar remarked.
"But you have the soul of an old man, not a cosmic fire chicken. This would explain why it has a fetish for redheads though." Peter quipped.
Suddenly the gang notice Phoenix blinking her eyes as she regains consciousness and sees them looming over her. "She's coming around. Should we knock her out again?" Boom Knuckles suggested.
"No, Knuckles. She was under mind control. Let's be nice to her." Sonic replied.
Wolverine helps her stand on her two feet as she groans to ask, "What is going on? What happened? I feel like I have done some terrible things…" She reveals to have little memory of her actions as Dark-Masked Phoenix.
"No one here blames you. You were under the influence of a madman. Please, tell us your name and your recent memory." Blaze politely asks her.
"My name is Firehair. But some friends like to call me Lady Phoenix." Lady Phoenix kindly introduces herself to the heroes, right before noticing Thor and his hammer, "Like the Asgardian who wields a hammer like yours." She pointed out.
"You know of my father?" A shocked Thor asked.
Firehair smiles warmly, "So you are Odin's child. I sensed something familiar about you. Yes, I know of your father. I recruited him among other supernatural individuals to protect humanity from both outside threats and itself."
"You're saying there were AVENGERS back in the Stone Age?" A surprised Spider-Man exclaimed.
"If that is what you like to call us, yes." Firehair remarks before continuing her story, "One day, I was suddenly teleported away from my friends and world to this mysterious realm just to be captured by that 'Eggman' and another psychic. As well as a 'dark demon' that looks like this blue creature…" She points to a confused Sonic, "That demon was responsible for summoning me to this world. Corrupting me with his dark power that I couldn't control."
Sonic scowls, "That sounds an awful lot like Mephiles. Dude MUST be insane for bringing the Phoenix Force here and causing it to go on a rampage. He must be stopped at all cost!"
"Aye! His actions have brought ruin to Blaze's kingdom, and the destruction of Chronoa twice! More than ever we must prevent him from reforming into Solaris!" Thor agreed with the idea of a mission to hunt down Mephiles.
Right then, Firehair's eyes narrow as she becomes confusingly curious about the evil Sun God, "That name…Solaris…"
"What about the name troubles you? Have you encountered Solaris before?" Blaze asked.
Firehair shakes her head, "Not me, but the Phoenix within. It is telling me that it knows Solaris from long ago, but its memories have become hazy until we were corrupted by Mephiles. Now it remembers. Their encounters. Their rivalry…As siblings."
That bombshell utterly surprises the heck out of the heroes as they had no idea until now that the Phoenix Force and Solaris are cosmic siblings. "YOU MUST BE KIDDING?! Solaris is the Phoenix Force's brother?!" Sonic exclaimed.
"I suspected as much, and it would make sense." The composed Sersi said, "Both are children of the cosmos that shapes the universe until its end. The Phoenix's flames birth life, for Solaris's to birth them purpose. Both have the authority to burn away what doesn't work."
"Tch. Do you believe any of this nonsense?" An unconvinced Raven asks Wolverine.
"Her and Iblis's flames do smell similar. Guess it might true." He answered.
"You like sniffing beautiful girls, Wolvie?" Peter makes fun of his growling mutant pal that is threatening to slice his mouth right out of his face.
"I don't really understand what yer all talkin' about the cosmos and stuff, but I just hatched an awesome idea that'll help all of us!" Marine said with a smile.
"I am Groot." Adult Groot remarks worriedly.
"Yeah, I'm scared too." Yang quipped, afraid of what Marine's awesome idea might be.
"Let's have Phoenix join my crew and help us beat up her brother and save the world! Whatcha think? Great plan, huh?" The smiling Marine asks for opinions on her incredibly dangerous and risky idea.
"You want to make the Destroyer of Worlds a PIRATE?! You're proving to be crazier than I am! And lemme tell ya, I can be VERY crazy!" Rocket outright refutes her idea to have the Phoenix join their alliance.
Firehair simply smiles, "I do not mind joining. Like I said, I vow to protect the world from all threats. Even if that threat is from my 'brother'. And I would like to spend more time with Odin's son." She then has her smile face the Thunderer.
"Likewise. I would like to know more of your adventures with my father." Thor smiles back, being among the first to allow Lady Phoenix join them.
Blaze thinks to herself, 'I guess we can allow her to join us. Best to keep her under our watch to prevent her from losing control again.'
"An excellent idea, Princess. I do not want to lose control of myself either." Firehair replied, having read Blaze's mind.
"Respect our right to privacy, THEN we'll allow you to join." Blaze calmly reprimands her.
Firehair scoffingly smirks, "Sure." which does earning a welcoming smile from the Sol Princess.

Unbeknownst to the heroes down below, they were being watched, spied upon throughout this whole ordeal, by a mysterious figure that would look instantly familiar if they noticed them standing atop a nearby cliffside. 'Once again you choose to align yourself with the humans. How you wound me, sister. I warned you getting too attached and experiencing their emotions would corrupt you. Now look how pathetic you've become.'
BGM-Metroid Prime 2: Echoes OST-Dark Samus Approaching
Those thoughts belong to none other than Mephiles the Dark, using his own immensely powerful psionic abilities to keep himself hidden from even the Phoenix's abilities. He continues to mentally monologue, 'It is such a tragedy that you'll have to die along with the humans you love. Life is an interesting concept, yet ultimately flawed. As is the insignificant speck of a planet the humans live in. Useful only for housing the keys to my full resurrection. For eons, I have traveled the multiverse in many forms. Fating each populace towards a destiny of my creation. I have absorbed entire universes, preserving their knowledge within me forever. Some attempt to resist this gift of immortality. Few succeed.' He recalls the heroes' victories over Solaris and Time Eater in the past, 'But these victories are temporary. The destruction of a temporal incarnation is inconsequential. For I am NOT a physical being. I am intellect. I am pure time. The progenitor of origination. And when I transform the universe into my image…all will be one with Solaris.' He hauntingly claims before vanishing, with the frightening image of a resurrected Solaris devouring all existence and its heroes into their doom in his vision.

KFX Here: Lady Phoenix of the Prehistoric Avengers joins the party as we learn more of Solaris's history and his motives. Him being the Phoenix Force's brother won't be the only bombshell to hit this story. Stick around like a Spider-Man can to learn more in the coming chapters.
