Act 2 Issue 10: Chronos Corps Assault (Part 2) – War

Avengers Tower, Alien Realm. Chrono World.

Alone inside a chamber is Cia, standing before a magic circle of her creation on the floor for a singular purpose. Four black flames were lit on the outer rims of the circle, with a dark yet familiar scepter floating in its center while magic from Cia slowly constructs it towards completion with sweeping gestures from her arms, similar to an orchestra conductor. But no conductor has never looked so tired and exhausted like this Time Sorceress. Nonetheless, she pushes through her fatigue to complete this secret weapon, still able to hear someone knocking on her door to respond with, "Come in."

The door opens, revealing Nick Fury as he walks towards her little experiment. "Hello Fury. Tell Team Dark that I'm almost done constructing this." Cia told him.

"Would love to, but they're long gone." Fury replied.

"What?!" Cia exclaims with so much surprise that she broke away from her concentration on the Scepter. The Scepter falls, and would've shattered if a frantic Cia didn't catch it after a few quick embarrassing stumbles. "Why did they leave?!" She turns back to the One-Eyed Man, still with a look of shock at the news.

"Shadow claims to have another method to neutralize Mephiles." Fury informed her.

An annoyed Cia facepalms her shaking head, "Unbelievable…Here I am wasting my time for him to…"

"Forget about him. YOU need to get some sleep." said Fury, noting his friend's tired eyes.

"I'm fine Fury…" Cia waves as she turns to ignore him, wanting to continue her little Scepter project.

"Hell you ain't!" Fury stops her to snatch the Scepter from her hands, "You've been pushing yourself for days ever since we were trapped in your Sanctuary." The former Director gives his tired friend a soft shoulder hug as he walks her out the room, "C'mon. Let's get you to bed."

Cia tiredly wants to argue, "But I need to finish-."

"Later." Fury cuts her off. "Have hope Shadow knows what he's doing."

Being wrapped to Fury's warm body was enough for Cia to calm down, smile, and accept the fact that she has been pushing herself without sleep since Kang invaded Mobiant Earth. After a few moments of silence through a hallway, the two old friends enter a guest room for Cia to rest. Fury kindly takes off her headdress for her before gently letting her sit on the bed.

"Thanks Nick." Cia softly said.

"No problem. Just don't push yourself. You're not alone anymore. I promise that this will be the last of the nightmares you'll have to endure." Nick replied, also with a soft tone as he can tell Cia is tired of living through a lifetime of apocalypses caused by this single Time War.

The Time Sorceress lowers her head with a depressed frown, "I hope so…"

"Get some sleep." Fury closes the door behind him, taking the Scepter with him while leaving Cia to finally catch some sleep, completely obliviously to a massive battle that is about to occur in another region of Chrono World.

Solkaria, Remnant Realm

BGM-Marvel Future Revolution OST-Omega Flight Squad

At Radical Train Zone near the city, a legion of Solkarian Military soldiers ready their guns just outside the city walls with advanced Solkarian Paladin-290s by their side, waiting and watching for their enemies to make a move. As they watch, time rifts popularize the fields to summon the Chronos Corps's forces. Kang's soldiers. Lyric's Destruction Troops. A Dark God's Creatures of Grimm. And many more, as they start running through the fields while their air fleet cover the skies.

The forces of the Chronos Corps and Solkaria clash in an already intense showdown as General James Ironwood looks on from the safety of his office. He scowls, knowing this war at Radical Train, and Mephiles's earlier surprise attack with bombs, is severely weakening any evacuation attempt into the subways, pissing him off to know his enemies have been several steps ahead of him. But this won't stop him. No. The General has plans of his own that'll hopefully turn the tide. But first, he presses a button on his desk console, speaking remotely to a subordinate.

'Yes, sir?' The Soldier on the line asked.

"Activate the Mirror Shrines. Have Sable International evacuate all citizens to Blue Coast Zone. Prepare Manta Squad Omega, and dispatch to every part of Solkaria." Ironwood ordered grimly.

But the unsure Soldier responds, 'But sir. The Shrines are untested-.'

Only for Ironwood to angrily slam his fist on his desk yelling out, "NOW!"

Elsewhere in Solkaria…

Civilians are still reeling from the surprise terrorist attack when a high-pitched speaker feedback is heard before Ironwood broadcasts his announcement, 'Citizens of Solkaria, please proceed to the nearest evacuation site for transport and shelter.'

One man gets up from beside his daughter, scared and looking around for another threat. As sirens begin to blare, people start to panic and run for the evacuation sites. Then the man is frozen with fear until his daughter points to the sky behind him, "Dad? Look!"

A massive time rift has opened above the town, unleashing a swarm of Grimm Lancers and Iblis Takers as they weave their way between skyscrapers, sending the man stumbling back. A squad of Mantas swoops in, opening fire on the creatures. The man hurriedly leaps to his feet shouting, "We need to go!" to his daughter.

Meanwhile…

Within a massive red blimp-based metal aircraft that serves as his flagship, Lyric is smiling at the destruction his forces are throwing upon his pathetic enemies and wants to unleash more despair. Through his time rifts, he summons two of his ultimate weapons powered by a collection of ISO-8. Titanic robot warriors built to wipe out all life on the planet. His warriors, his Destruction Sentinels join the battle.

While the Sentinels unleash their unfathomable strength on the Solkarian Military, they are chattering to their boss through the radio, 'We can't get the Hard Light shields back up, sir. The generators took too much damage!'

'Then don't waste resources on them. Beta Squad, the giant robots?' Ironwood asked.

All of the military's attempts to destroy just one of the Sentinels was in vain as it decimates a military outpost with a single massive energy blast. 'We tried bombs, missiles, but we can't make a dent, sir-.' Suddenly, the frantic Solkarian Commander was interrupted by someone decimating the Sentinel singlehandedly. It was the Incredible Hulk, showing off his rage-fueled strength as he easily rips off the head of the robot before furiously throwing it down at enemy forces. 'Nevermind. Hulk has the giant robots covered.' The Commander stated.

The headless Sentinel falls to the ground as Hulk lands right next to it hungry for more battle. His wish is answered as Abomination shows up to settle the score with his iconic gamma rival. "Let us end this incredible rivalry…" says Abomination, grinning with malicious intent as he empowers himself with a Dark Aura, "HULK!"

"You got it, fishface!" Hulk rushes at his rival with all his fury, just as Abomination does the same. Both reel back a fist, and just when they reached each other, they throw their punches with all their strength, causing a collision so destructively powerful it shakes the kingdom, erupting shockwaves that blow away troops from both factions.

One of those that was nearly blown away was Silver, who quickly used his psychokinesis to stop himself high in the air. He scowls, "Man, those two need to stop shaking islands! I'm trying to work!" The Future Freedom Fighter flies off to the second Sentinel that is about to obliterate more military men with fully-powered laser eyes. At the last moment, he telekinetically twist its massive head towards the enemy air fleet and watch in gleeful joy at it blowing up its own ships, "WOOHOO! EAT YOUR OWN ROBOT LASERS-!"

Suddenly, Silver is blasted to the ground by a flying Cinder, powered up with her own Fall Maiden magic that is furthered enhanced by the Dark Aura. She smirks, "Don't get cocky, you dirty little sewer rat-!" before she is ambushed herself by Winter Maiden Penny. The Fall Maiden immediately recovers with a flying punch from her Grimm Arm that knocks back the android. "Your power escaped from me once! Never again! This time I'll kill you myself!" Dark Cinder declared, with eyes maliciously glowing with magic while conjuring up a fire sword to wield.

"We'll see about that!" scowls Penny, with her eyes sternly glowing with magic as her Floating Array swords become battle ready. Both Maidens power themselves up to the max before charging at each other, clashing at explosive high speeds across the sky.

Over at the modernized New City area of Solkaria, Sable International was placed in charge of evacuating countless citizens through Mirror Shrines with highly advanced, and somewhat magical, technology. Upon activation, they can open reflective portals to anywhere in the region. In this emergency, citizens are being teleported to Blue Coast Zone while Sable Soldiers and heroes alike protect them from enemy forces.

"SINGLE FILE, PEOPLE! SINGLE FILE! NO NEED TO RUSH! WE SUPERHEROES GOT YOUR BACKS!" says Maya Fey, calmly speaking to people frantically rushing into portals for their lives through a megaphone.

"WE'RE NOT SUPERHEROES, MAYA! I'M A LAWYER AND YOU'RE A SPIRIT MEDIUM! AND WHY AM I THE ONLY ONE BEING CHASED BY A FIRE DOG?!" yells a scared Phoenix Wright, humorously being chased by an Iblis Biter.

"JUST BLOW IT AWAY WITH THAT HOVER WISPON THINGY YOU WERE GIVEN!" Maya responds to him, still using the megaphone.

At that moment, Wright trips and falls to the ground right before the Biter lunges for his butt. But before it could take its bite, Wright quickly turns to it with his new Hover Wispon to shout, "OBJECTION!" whilst blowing away the monster with a shockwave.

Wright sighs, taking a breather from his near-death experience while Maya happily cheers for him nearby, and Black Widow swings to the nearest rooftop to get a good look at the time rift that's deploying an endless army of goons. "They'll just keep coming unless we close that rift." Widow presses her earpiece to contact, "Spider-Man! We need you and the Chronoblade! What's your status?"

Somewhere in Solkaria Castle Town, Amazing Spider-Man was sent flying through the historical section until he hits his back on a building. He collapses onto the ground, too exhausted and too injured to do anything besides weakly letting out a quippy response, "Being doomed…by Future Doom… and his Doombots…"

The defeated Spider-Man is then confronted by Dark Doom 2099 and his legion of Doombots that stand behind their cruel master. "Infinite is not here to save you! This time I will PAINFULLY liberate the Time Factor from your very soul!" Doom declared, wanting to redeem himself for his failure at Xandar.

Before Doom could do anything worse to the poor webslinger, his robot army suddenly glitches out. And before he could figure out how it was possible, they are ambushed by the relentless claw swipes from Morbius the Living Vampire followed by a decimating club slam from a Frost Giant avatar summoned by Weiss Schnee. Elsa Schnee leaps off a glyph to shoot an ice arrow from her energy bow at Doom, who easily deflects it and blasts the huntress down, leaving himself open to a repulsor blast fired by his more heroic counterpart, the Infamous Iron Man.

"You may be from a more advanced future, but the fundamentals of OUR Doombots are timeless. Quite easy for their maker to hack." Iron Doom said, descending from the heavens to mock his future counterpart.

"Are you alright, Spider-Man?" Morbius asks his occasional nemesis.

"Blood's sour…Don't think about sucking me off…" Peter weakly quipped.

"He's fine." Weiss snarks to the vampire.

"Get out of here and close those rifts! We'll handle Doom!" Elsa ordered the webhead.

Spider-Man leaves his four saviors to confront Doom 2099, who stares at Elsa to say, "It has been some time, Miss Schnee. Allow me to be among the first to apologize for the loss of your company."

"Save the sorry excuse for pity, Doom. You've been wanting to conquer SDC as badly as wanting to conquer Solkaria in our time. I'll make certain you won't succeed in the latter." Elsa proclaimed, with a glare as cold as ice shot at her nemesis.

"And to boost your chances, you're willing to cooperate with my imperfect counterpart." Doom 2099 mocked.

"Unlike you, I've learned from my mistakes." retorts Iron Doom, powering up his magically-infused repulsors, "I'll be MORE than welcome to help you do the same!" He unleashes the full force of his magic repulsors, with his counterpart countering with an equally-powerful blast that covers the area with intense eruptive light.

Castle Elise

This whole war is unfolding right before Princess Elise's eyes, from the safety of her island castle as she overlooks her city with a gloomy stare. She feels terrible about all of this. She felt Mephiles's darkness was lurking through her kingdom for weeks, scheming ways to destroy it from within, but brushed it off as stress from Eggman Nega's previous invasion on the kingdom and didn't want to get caught in paranoia like Ironwood is. She should've known better, but it couldn't have been helped. Her memories of the Lost Timeline are faint and troubling, to say the least. Regardless, they are not important now. Whatever happened in the past stays in the past. The future of Solkaria is what's on her mind right now.

BGM-Shadow the Hedgehog OST-All Torn Down

Entering her throne room is Silver Sable alongside two of her Soldiers, with the mercenary having something urgent to say to her ruler. "Princess, your escape ship is ready. Please hurry." Sable informs her.

"How goes evacuation?" Elise asked.

"56% and climbing with moderate delays." Sable replied solemnly.

"Good." said Elise, as she then presses a button on her desk console, projecting a hologram of Ironwood to speak with. "General, what's the status of the battle?" She asked him.

"Captain America's team are about to infiltrate the flagship, but the kingdom is taking heavy damage. These Time Rifts keep having my men dropped on and we're struggling to keep defenses and communications online!" Ironwood informed.

"Once again…" Elise lowers her head with somber guilt, "I was not able to protect this country…"

'Only because you refused to approve Project Insight!' Ironwood sternly retorted.

Elise angrily snaps at him, "You wanted to turn this kingdom into a weapon of war! Eliminate everyone your system believes is a threat!"

"It would've prevented Sleet from being MURDERED, and our bombs from being stolen and USED against us!" Ironwood refuted.

"It would've spread more fear! Fear that can, and is NOW, being taken advantage of!" Elise snapped back.

"I only wanted what's best for our kingdom. To protect it from the endgame. How were the rest of you planning on beating it?" Ironwood asks a serious question to the two royals in the room.

Sable steps forward with a simple, calming answer, which is, "Together."

"We're going to lose." Ironwood believed, exchanging calm stares with the royal mercenary.

"Then we'll do that together too when the time comes, but that time isn't now! This battle's not over yet!" Sable proclaimed, inspiring new hope into both Elise and Ironwood as they focus on her next words, "We WILL make sure to defeat the Chronos Corps and protect our people using all of our power! Together, as a single unit! The nation may fall but it can be rebuilt! We'll think about its restoration after this war."

A smiling Elise nods at her inspiring words, "Yes…you're right. Trust in each other, don't be scared, never giving up until the end, no matter the circumstances…" She turns to her desk to glance at a photo. A happy group photo she took with her best friends Spider-Man and Sonic, as well with Jessica Drew, Tails, Amy, and Team JNPR during her trip to New Vale City some time ago, a memory that she'll treasure for the rest of her life, "That's what they taught me." The Princess then turns to the holographic General, "Take those lessons to heart as well, General."

Ironwood grunts, feeling unsure if he too can truly learn from those lessons in the time they have left. Sable approaches the young royal, telling her, "Now, please hurry."

"Yeah." Elise nodded.

The Princess leaves with Sable and her bodyguards, all while Ironwood glances at the photo of Elise's friends himself. He scowls, "I'll be sure to give the Corps hell!" before signing off.

BGM-Shadow the Hedgehog OST-Doom's Eye

But outside the castle, Mephiles and the Masked Hedgehog secretly watch as Elise's escape aircraft departs for a Solkarian battleship holding position overhead. "How awfully stubborn of them…" said Mephiles. The Demon Hedgehog flaunts his arm to his silent servant, ordering him to, "After them! Chase them down and give them despair!" before watching him run after the battleship as it departs for a secret safehouse.

BGM-Marvel Future Revolution OST-Revolution Starts Here

The Battle of Solkaria rages on as the Solkarian Military are advancing to conquer the enemy's outposts and keeps. The enemy won't give up their territories without a fight and oppose the military with everything they got, and vice versa as the military won't let them conquer their spaces. Battles are brief but fierce, from Kang Soldiers slaughtering Solkarian Soldiers, to SK-200s decimating Destruction Troops and holding their own against Grimm. But it's through these battles is how territories are conquered, some by formidable Avengers. Led by Ultimate Spidey and Boom Amy, the military has conquered a few outposts, allowing reinforcements to be called upon to counter advancing units. And led by Scarlet Witch and Sticks, they have also conquered a few keeps housing Time Rifts, allowing Wanda to use her magic in closing them and cutting off enemy reinforcements.

At the terminal station, the military formed a perimeter between the Zone and the city, acting as the last line of defense to prevent any grounded enemy horde from raiding Solkaria. It has everything. Solkarian Beam Turrets that attacks enemies in a line. Solkarian Burrow Gun that will pop out and fire on proximal goons. Solkarian Arachna Mines that chases and blows enemies up. And one of the military's favorites: The Olympia Cannon. Fueled with ISO-Dust, it possesses the unfathomable power to annihilate legions of enemies in a single blow. The only downside, that it doesn't have a lot of ammo and takes a while to recharge.

Luckily, Winter Schnee is in command of a team to protect the defense system, including the Olympia Cannon as it begins recharging after using up its power again. Accompanied by Wolverine and Cable, the Schnee Specialist walks between the rows, addressing her troops as well as Team FNKI amongst them.

"Listen up everyone. We're keeping this base guarded until the Olympia Cannon recharges to further weaken the enemy. If we can't hold this line, they'll replenish their strength and we lose the city. Is that understood?" Winter sternly addresses everyone.

"Yes, ma'am." Her Soldiers responded.

The excitable feline Faunus, Neon Katt turns to her more serious teammate Flynt Coal, trying to stay upbeat. "You wouldn't happen to know a tune for this, huh?" She asked him.

"I don't know that anybody does." He quipped.

Wolverine sniffs his nose, smelling something bad approaching. "Another wave incoming. Keep them back." He ordered while popping out his claws, eager to cause to some carnage.

With one last determined look at each other, Neon and Flynt rush out of the terminal station and join the fray alongside their fellow soldiers, all led by Cable shouting, "Move, move, move!"

Solkarian Paladins make short work of a pair of Grimm Megoliaths while Cable and Wolverine cleans up some Destruction Troops. Neon and Flynt get into formation, warding off a Hydra Dreadnaught. "By the Icy Tendrils of Ikthalon!" Winter incants a magic spell to freeze a swarm of incoming goons before imbuing herself a lightning-powered glyph to slice each of them at lightning speed.

But, as a squadron of Solkarian Knights shoot down Iblis Monsters, they suddenly stop as their visors and LEDs turn a dark crimson, obviously meaning they are being hacked by the enemy. They go rogue and begin attacking civilians in the city as well as the defending forces such as Wolverine, relentlessly blasting the shocked mutant to the ground.

"Knights have been hacked!" Cable exclaimed while destroying some of them.

"We prepared for this!" said Winter, quickly touching her earpiece, "Tails, upload the anti-virus STAT!"

'On it! Give me a few!' Modern Tails retorted.

Lyric's Airship

"Ahahaha! What fools!" At the holo-screens in his command deck, Lyric laughs at the Military's constant struggles against his armies, now that their own robots have turned against them thanks to the data Mephiles provided to Lyric before the invasion, "Struggle all they want, in the end their technology is LAUGHABLE compared to mine! As long as I have command over the Time Rifts in this region and their machinery, this kingdom will crumble from the inside out! It won't be long now…" He chuckles sinisterly with a smile, believing to have already won this war before it is over.

"Stay!"

"Huh-?!" But suddenly, Lyric finds himself immobilized, unable to move thanks to an intruder pointing at him. That intruder is joined by two lightning-fast friends, who swiftly knocks back the snake until he is able to move again. As he does, he was shocked to find himself confronted by his arch-nemesis, Boom Sonic, and his team consisting of All-New Captain America, Agent Venom, Young Salem, Classic Knuckles, and the Ace-Ops.

"Sup Lyric. You and I have still have some unfinished business." Boom Sonic confidently smirks at his snaky rival.

"SONIC?! How did you breach my defenses?!" Lyric angrily retorted.

"We took the backdoor." Sonic joked.

"I don't have a backdoor!" Lyric retorted.

"We made our own through magic, snakebreath." Agent Venom quipped, complimenting Salem as she steps up to take the credit for helping the team infiltrate the flagship.

"Your technology is quite impressive, but it can be easily fooled by one well-versed in the mystic arts." Salem smirkingly mocks the snake, infuriating him.

"This is your only chance, Lyric! Ceasefire and surrender! Your armies are weakening, the Princess is off the radar, and we have you outnumbered and outmatched! You can't win!" Sam demanded for his surrender.

"Is that so? I don't take orders from you!" Lyric retorted calmly, still feeling confident on his victory.

"But you're okay taking orders from Kang." Clover Ebi snarked.

Lyric replies, "Kang offered me the powers of a god so I may finally create a world made of metal. One void of all organic life forms…" He then furiously points his robotic claw at a scowling Sonic, "Including THIS miserable blue pest who has thwarted me for a thousand years!"

Marrow Amin gives a confusing glance at the hedgehog, "You don't look that old…"

"Time travel, man." The deadpan Sonic quipped.

Swiftly and fiercely, Lyric empowers himself with an eruptive Dark Aura exclaiming, "After I wipe you meddlers off the face of this timespace, I'll recomplete Solaris and build an empire that transcends time itself!"

The heroes take their battle stances, with Sonic, Sam, and Clover upfront of their team. "Not interested seeing that happen! It's party time!" Sonic retorted, ready for the brawl with Dark Lyric.

Meanwhile in the Solkarian Battleship…

Elise is seated in her escape airplane alongside Silver Sable and her men. The escape pod is being transported through the massive aircraft on a monorail track as it makes its way to a safety zone. Worried for her people and friends, the Princess silently puts her hands together to pray with her eyes closed. She thinks, 'Sonic…Spider-Man…Please protect my people during my absence. How I wish I was there to stand alongside you, but my presence will only bring about more harm to them. Just know I am rooting for you through spirit. My friends, you are the only ones who can save us from this dark fate.'

"Ughhh!..." Elise suddenly grunts as she painfully clenches her head. It starts throbbing again as she receives visions of another lifetime: One, of Doctor Eggman invading Soleanna. Another, of herself hugging Sonic at a beautiful lake. One more, of herself crying over Sonic's death at the hands of Mephiles. Additionally, witnessing Sonic, Shadow, and Silver in their Super Forms battling Solaris. And lastly, of herself blowing out Solaris as a harmless candle flame.

Sable notice Elise looking a little ill and softly touches her shoulder, asking, "Are you alright, Elise?"

Snapping back into reality, Elise turns to her with a lying smile, "I-I'm alright. Thank you." before grimly thinking, 'Those weren't just dreams. They are…my memories…Of another lifetime. Blowing out Solaris changed the world. But…did it only delay the inevitable? Are we still destined to be consumed by the light?'

Suddenly, sirens begin blaring as loud as they could throughout the battleship, earning the immediate concerned attention of Elise's party. "What's happening?!" She asked.

BGM-Shadow the Hedgehog OST-Air Fleet

"Enemy forces are boarding the ship!" Her pilot answered, glancing at live footage of the Chronos Corps' troops attacking the Solkarian Battleship.

Sable snarls, "Not even our advanced cloaking could hide us for long!" She then ordered, "Just get us into the hanger! QUICKLY! We'll be safe there!"

"Yes!" The nodding pilot acknowledged.

More trouble comes, directly to the escape pod this time as it's being relentlessly shot at from the outside by oddly familiar energy spears. These are followed by the Masked Hedgehog crashing through the window of the cockpit and darting for Elise. Sable whips out her favorite staff to swing at the black hedgehog, who easily deflects it and knocks down the mercenary in one blow. But as he reaches for the frightened Princess, a familiar blue blur relieves her as it knocks the assassin out the pod, where he is forced to cower before Hawkeye and Ruby Rose's weapons and Mario's fireball.

"Stay down. Eating floor is good for you." Hawkeye mocks the silent enforcer.

Modern Sonic quickly joins the group, shooting a glance at the escape pod, "Sable! Get Elise out of here! We'll watch your backs!"

BGM-Super Dragon Ball Heroes OST-Big Bang Battle

Annoyed by the surprise interference of the Avengers, the Masked Hedgehog erupts a Dark Aura that pushes the heroes back a considerable distance so he may stand up with silent fury. Sonic shoots a curious look at his foe's mask muttering, "That Mask…Looks just like the one that Nega used to control Phoenix."

The Masked Hedgehog shoots a menacing glare at his enemies, ready to slaughter them with his full dark power as he powers up to the max. The heroes take their fighting stances as Sonic exclaims, "I'll go ahead."

Both hedgehogs then charge at each other, clashing at full speed around the area until the Masked Hedgehog lands a powerful blow that blasts him through the metal walls of the ship. "SONIC!" A worried Ruby exclaimed.

Smashed out of the battleship, Sonic recovers himself in time to spot his masked rival flying towards him and quickly transforms into his Lightning Mode to stay in the fight. With a fierce battle cry, Lightning Sonic rockets at Masked Hedgehog, beginning a new high-speed clash all over the battleship, ending with both hedgehogs colliding Spin Attacks with an explosive result that shakes the massive ship itself.

At the same time, in Lyric's Airship…

The other Sonic is leading his team in an epic showdown against Dark Lyric. The armored snake had just dodged a quick Spin Attack from Boom Sonic as he flies into the air. From his right side, he spots Harriet Bee chasing him along the wall with her electrified Super-Speed Semblance while equipped with her Fast Knuckles weapons, while from his left side, he notices Sonic empowering himself with his Fire Mode as he pursues him from a wall. As both speedsters leap at him to deal a massive blow, Lyric warps away from their attacks with a smile, tricking them into knocking each other down.

"Out of my way!" Harriet angrily scolds the hedgehog.

"You were in MY way!" Sonic retorted with the same amount of arrogance.

Lyric uses their arguing to their advantage as he blows both of them away with a powerful energy blast. He then proceeds to do the same to the other heroes, firing homing blasts that push them to the defensive. Only All-New Captain America was able to dodge the attacks as he flies swiftly in the air, hurling his shield to ricochet off the walls until it hits the back of Lyric's head, swiftly followed by several kicks to the face before shield-bashing his chest, knocking back the annoyed snake.

It's time for Lyric to switch strategies, upon noticing Sam's wings are technology-based. He presses his chest orb device, causing the wings to malfunction and having Sam crash into a wall before falling down. He intends to finish him off with a powerful energy beam, only for Salem to come to his rescue with a mystical barrier, giving Marrow the chance to shout and point, "Stay!" to freeze the snake in midair, allowing the sorceress to bombard him with mystic bolts. But this time, Lyric was ready for Marrow's Semblance and secretly summoned two Destruction Swordsman Troopers prior to his immobilization to strike him down alongside Salem, thus freeing their leader.

Quickly, Sonic destroys the Troopers before activating his Ice Mode and grabbing Harriet's hand as he spins themselves like an electric-ice tornado, "Let's try to work together this time!"

"Shut up and throw!" Harriet retorted.

Sonic complies and throws Harriet like a bullet towards Lyric. Empowered by the combined energy of her own electricity and Sonic's ice, Harriet lets out a ferocious cry as she smashes Lyric in the face with the devastating force to slam him to the ground. Lyric furiously swipes her away with his tail and tries to levitate back up, only for his tail to be immediately grappled by Clover, Sonic, Vine, and Agent Venom using their respective grappling abilities.

"Pull him down!" Clover ordered his teammates.

With their combined strength, the heroes slam Lyric back down next to Classic Knuckles. The young echidna grabs his tail and uses his enormous strength to swing him around as if he's playing hammer throw in the Olympics. "Head's up!" He shouts to Elm Ederne. With all his might, he hurls the screaming snake right at Elm. Forming an eager smile, Elm uses her Semblance to plant herself in place with Aura Roots. She reels back her massive timber hammer, ready to swing. Activating the rockets on its back, she swings Timber with all her might, crashing into Lyric's chest with the unbelievable destructive force to not only deplete his Dark Aura and crack his armor but send him flying through several walls of his own ship until he crashes into the ground with severe pain.

Lyric lies on his stomach, panting in complete exhaustion from his battle with the heroes. Speaking of them, they show up to see him in his weakened state, each of them looking pretty happy at their victory. "Great work, guys! We beat him!" Sonic smiled.

"That was my best home run! Good pitching, Knuckles. You're pretty strong for a small guy." Elm grins at the echidna, complimenting his strength.

Knuckles smirkingly scoffs at her, "Glad to see those muscles of yours aren't for show either."

Clover steps forward at the beaten Lyric, mocking him, "How'd you like our teamwork, Lyric? When we work together as a single unit we're unbeatable."

"You made a big mistake going against the Ace-Ops! Your Dark Aura barely provided us a challenge!" Harriet mockingly smirks at the snake.

BGM-Dragon Ball Legends OST-Uneasiness

Strangely though, Lyric chuckles at their attempts to insult him, "'Dark Aura'? Is that what you ignorant fools have been calling the Sol Power? You only won against a mere FRACTION of what the Solaris System provides me! The first stage of Sol Evolution!"

"Sol Evolution…?" A curious Sonic questioned.

"The method to harness a higher degree of power from Solaris. The further the system develops, the more power we in the Chronos Corps can access to until we can control the full powers of a Chrono Sun God. Chrono World…This war…They just serve as an experimental site to gather energy to perfect the System!" Lyric explained.

Agent Venom snarls, "Starting a war just for your twisted experiments…"

"Is that why you're after the Time Factors? To control Solaris without risk of backfiring?" Cap asked.

Lyric grins evilly, "Solaris will be in our debt. After all, we're going through all this effort to revive him while stabilizing his flames."

"Iblis?" Salem guessed correctly.

Lyric confirms her guess, "Iblis is still weak from his recent battle with the other Sonic, but will recover in time for the Project's completion. And even in his weakened state, his power is unfathomable! Allowing a supreme genius such as myself to harness the next level of his Sol Power! BEHOLD!"

BGM-Marvel Ultimate Alliance 3 OST-Threat from Beyond

The Ancient snake empowers himself with the dark purple mist, the first stage of Sol Power that he has been using up until now. But this time, he's taking it to the next level. With a grunting flex, his Dark Aura dramatically transforms into a devilish fiery orange color with power so intense it sets the entire room they're in ablaze, nearly blowing away the heroes while scorching everything around him in intense heat akin to an active volcano. Once all is said and done, the newly-powered Sol Lyric slithers out of his flames, frightening his enemies with red sparks surrounding his body and his new pure green eyes staring maliciously at them.

"What the hell…?" Sam reacts in shock upon witnessing Lyric's incredible new power.

"Lyric's Aura…It's skyrocketed unimaginably…" Vine remarks calmly, but the sweat on his face proves his inner fear at this power.

"This power…It isn't like the darkness he and the others have used. This feels more corruptive…More…demonic…" A frightened Salem commented.

"Makes ya wonder if Solaris is really a god or the devil." Sonic quipped, staying brave at this new threat.

"Allow me to answer you…" Sol Lyric coldly snarked.

With a single swing from his fiery tail, Lyric smacks Clover on the neck so hard and fast he crashes into a wall with rubble immediately collapsing on his him. "Clover!" Sam shouted at him.

"CLOVER!" Marrow exclaims with great concern for his defeated leader.

Venom hurries to remove all of the rubble until he finds Clover's body, which appears lifeless. "Stay with me, soldier!" He checks his pulse, then his neck, only to be horrified to learn it is completely broken, "Oh no…He's dead."

The sudden news of Clover's death stunned the heroes to their very hearts, with mixed reactions coming from his now-former teammates in the Ace-Ops. Marrow is in disbelief, Vine remains mostly stoic, and Elm and Harriet are outright furious at Lyric for killing their teammate.

"Just from one hit? Didn't his Aura protect him?!" Knuckles exclaimed.

"The Flames of Iblis…They melted his Aura in an instant whilst striking him with such devastation. So this is what the Solaris System is capable of…" Salem calmly commented, but is visibly stunned by the Sol Power.

"He was the lucky one of your group, wasn't he? Your good luck charm is now DEAD. Now I will curse the rest of you to oblivion!" Lyric laughs at the devastated heroes.

"LYRIIIIIIIIIC!" Sonic yells out the murderer of his friend whilst confronting him, "You've done it now! NO ONE messes with my friends and lives to joke about it!"

The enraged hedgehog revs up a Spin Dash and charges at him, only for Lyric to effortlessly repel the attack and knock him to a wall. Lyric then traps the other heroes in an unbreakable glass ball as Sonic recovers on his feet. "Clover's whole character was a joke! He preached about a single unit being unbeatable. Now look! I have just shattered that 'single unit' into tiny little pieces! YOU'RE the last piece, Sonic! Can't wait to smash you into DUST!" Lyric then flies away with the trapped heroes, goading Sonic into chasing him if he wants to defeat him once and for all and save his friends.

Schnee Dust Company Headquarters

Amidst this kingdom battle, Mephiles continues to scheme under the radar while his allies and foes are too busy beating each other up. This time, he has his sights on the Schnee Dust Company, with a plan that will surely destroy Solkaria. He infiltrated the reactor room with four, mysterious energy cores that each represent an element: Air, Water, Fire, and Earth, placing them all inside the massive Dust Reactor powering the entire facility.

Mephiles hacks into a computer console for a mysterious purpose, thinking to himself after sensing the battle inside Lyric's Airship, 'Seems that Lyric is drawing more power from the System. I'll let him do as he please. Gave me more time to steal these Soul Molecules from the military. None of them will be able to harness the true power of Solaris anyway.' He looks up at the mysterious elemental cores inside the reactor, 'These "Creatures of the Elements" were created by Norman Osborn during his stay in Remnant to conquer the universes. His presence alongside Spider-Man completely changed the destiny I made for Remnant into a fate that crossed over and converged with two other worlds. I suppose it doesn't matter. Only made things more convenient.'

The Demon Hedgehog is almost done with his plan. All that's left is to insert his Chaos Emerald that's mixed with his dark power into the console. The negative chaos energy infuses with the Elemental Soul Molecules, bloating the reactor beyond its limits to the point of overloading. All systems start going critical, meaning it's time for Mephiles to walk out of the chamber and into a hallway.

"Stop right there!"

"Hm?"

BGM-Sonic the Hedgehog (2006) OST-The Resurrection of Mephiles

Before he could leave, Mephiles is stopped by Jacques Schnee confronting him from behind. The demon could care less about this man or his reasons for stopping him. He just stands there motionless, acting very stoic while listening to the former SDC President scolding him, "Who are you to snoop around in MY building? Don't tell me. Alchemax put a RAT in charge of this facility! Just like them. They may have stolen the company from me, but I won't tolerate trespassers! I advise you leave immediately, and pray you don't die in the hell out there."

The only response Mephiles gives to his taunts is telekinetically lifting and hurling a surprised Jacques straight into the Reactor Room with a simple thought, having him smashed into the console to prevent anyone from fixing his tampering with the reactor. As Jacques stands in pain, he gasps at the overloading reactor, "My Dust Reactor! It's overloading! What did you do?!" He rushes to the exit, only for it to be slammed and jammed right in front of his face. "WHAT DID YOU DO?! LET ME OUT! LET ME OOOOOUUUT!" He screams while furiously banging on the locked door.

Mephiles casually leans on the other side of the door, taking pleasure at his cries for help before telling him, "I'm using your company to create its final, greatest weapon. And you have the honor of witnessing its power firsthand. This death will be more amusing than what Ironwood would've given you."

The Devil Hedgehog then walks away laughing, leaving Jacques trapped inside his own Reactor Room. No matter how many times he bangs on the door, no one is coming to save him. The man starts sweating profusely, looking scared for his very life, knowing his life is seconds away from coming to an end. He shoots a glance at the reactor, which is also seconds away from exploding. He looks around for something, anything, that could save him in this dire moment. He quickly recalls his Scroll and takes it out of his pocket, with the first contact he sees is Weiss's. Without hesitation, he tries calling her, hoping she'll answer to save him despite their rough history.

But, he was too late. In that instance, the Dust Reactor exploded. Jacques puts his arms to shield himself, but it didn't matter as the explosion vaporizes him into nothing.

And that, was only the beginning. Dark thunderclouds gather above Solkaria. Everyone, from those aligned with the Solkarian Military, and those aligned with the Chronos Corps, stop their war for a moment as they feel the ground rumbling. Suddenly, SDC Headquarters explodes as dark energy erupts from it like a volcano, hitting the clouds to form a massive portal. Giant cracks, gushing out water and lava, form in the streets from the sheer force of the dark energy, prompting the remaining civilians to scream and run for their lives.

BGM-Mega Man Zero 4 OST-Fate… Theme of Vile

"MWAHAHAHAHA!" laughs Mephiles, appearing atop a tall skyscraper to stare at the massive portal he created, "Witness a glimpse of my power! The four Elementals tied to nature! Combine with the dark power and be reborn into my servant of destruction!"

Slowly descending from the portal is a massive dark demon composed of a purple energy aura, with only a skeleton body and two enormous arms, as well as a head similar to that of a skull bone. "DESCEND FROM THE VOID AND DEVOUR THIS KINGDOM DOWN TO ITS LAST HISTORY! AWAKEN, ALIOTTTTTH!" Mephiles yells out to his new beast with such rare enthusiasm.

"GWRRAAAAAAAAAAAAAH!" roars Alioth, the Dark Elemental of Destruction as it hovers over the whole kingdom.

Heroes and villains from both factions could not believe their eyes. Somehow, Mephiles recreated the forgotten Elementals into this all-new time beast, and it is looking hungry for destruction. Mephiles mumbles, "It is time to judge this kingdom." He looks back at Alioth and orders him to unleash his, "VANISHING HELLLLLLLZOOOOOONE!"

Alioth complies whilst charging massive energy in its mouth. When it did, it unleashed an energy beam down at Solkaria that is so overwhelmingly powerful, it utterly decimates the floating kingdom with waves of energy washing away everything caught in them. Civilians. Heroes. Solkarian and Sable Soldiers. Even some villains and their forces were helpless as they are blown away into the light.

Svartalfheim, God Realm.

"Did you all sense that?"

Near a swamp in this mysterious realm, Ragna had just asked his party of what he just sensed. His party consists of the Unknown Actor, Hyde. The Summer Maiden, Summer Rose 2099. The Ancient Avenger, Lady Phoenix. The Thieving Spy, Rouge the Bat. The Ultimate Super-Badnik, E-123 Omega. And the one leading the group, the Ultimate Lifeform, Shadow the Hedgehog.

Hyde nods to the Grim Reaper's question, "Yeah, and scary enough, it didn't come from this Realm."

"It's Mephiles. He has created a demon that is ravaging Solkaria as we speak." Phoenix sensed with her supreme psychic powers.

"All this time and he chooses NOW to showoff. I have a bad feeling about this, Shadow." Rouge says to her best friend.

"It'll be alright. As long as we stick to the plan…Mephiles will be history." declared Shadow, ready to lead his Team Dark into the final battles that'll determine the fate of Solkaria.

BGM-Sonic the Hedgehog (2006) OST-Extras

KFX Here: Before any of you ask, YES, I have watched the Spider-Man: No Way Home trailer, and YES, my hype levels are to the max. But back to this story, the Battle of Solkaria is about to wrap up. Sol Lyric. Masked Hedgehog (Guess his true identity). Mephiles. And now Alioth. Four fights, all will be concluded in the next chapter.

Braewriter of Rewriting: To be fair, Jacques DID lose his company under his nose. He also had to constantly compete with the more corrupt company, Roxxon, and his daughter not registering with the Superhuman Registration Act. He has reasons to be acting angry and dickish.
