Sakaar Realm, Chrono World

The Sakaar Realm. Possibly the most dangerous region of Chrono World. A deadly yellow rift entrapping the continent of Efrika and the planetary fragments of Planet Sakaar. This realm is all but ruled by a terrifying tyrant from the future, having their people struggle to survive the savage realm's dry deserts and abandoned lands polluted by gamma rays. It's all about the survival of the fittest. So if you're not the strongest, you have no hope of living for the next day.

'This world was already broken before it was brought to Chrono World. Before "I" arrived.' thought a mysterious, tyrannical narrator. Things are just as bad, if not worse, in the capital city that is Crown City. Innocent civilians, both Sakaarans and Earthlings alike, are arrested for crimes they never commit. Having been handcuffed against their will before being escorted to prison by insectoid-like Sakaaran Officers. 'Its citizens reminded me of a man I knew long ago. A puny creature who lived in constant terror. So I provided them a chance to RISE above their fears. A place to unleash their TRUE potential. A chance to be something MORE. Something…'

"Incredible! He actually made it through alive!"

That was a Sakaaran Omochao, serving as the lively robotic commentator of the Sakaar Arena. Here is the incredible arena to hold gladiatorial battles, to determine who is the strongest, as well as simple entertainment for the citizens.

In the arena, a lone grey-skinned Sakaaran just fought and survived a wave of powerful creatures with just a sword and shield. The audience applauded him for his victory, but the Mystery Narrator thinks otherwise, 'They may think themselves noble. Heroes, even. But there's one simple truth in this forsaken land. Here, we are ALL monsters.'

At that moment, a large, muscular red-skinned Sakaaran enters the battle, revealing his presence to the young Sakaaran opponent by hurling a red corpse to a wall. "Seems no one told him there's still another round! Wait, was that my job? Oops." Omochao exclaimed.

The young Sakaaran didn't last a minute. The big guy broke through his defenses without trouble, then smacks away his weapon with his own, before kicking the man down. The young warrior was weak, beaten, but it wasn't enough to satisfy the red monster. 'And if we want to survive…' said the Narrator, as the Red Warrior proceeds to grab the young one's head to lift him up.

"What say you, your royal heinous?" asked Omochao, turning to the Narrator himself. A gamma-powered monster that looks awfully familiar to a Green Goliath but with a beard, and wearing helmetless Iron Man-like armor fit for that Goliath.

'…we need to give in to the beast within…or be consumed by the ones around us.' From his throne, the Gamma Tyrant gestures his right hand to give his warriors a thumbs down, which signals his Red Gladiator to finish his foe. The Red Warrior complied, letting his young prey drop to the ground just to be smash to death by his bare fists, 'For in the wastelands of Sakaar…'

"OH! I can't watch!" shouts Omochao, turning away from the violent death.

'…rage conquers all.' finished The Maestro, Strongest of the Chronos Corps and Gamma King of Sakaar.

Avengers Tower, Alien Realm

"So, you never experienced the extinction of your people?"

A question asked by Cia as she and Modern Knuckles take a casual stroll through a hallway conversing about their respective tribes: The Chronoa Kingdom and the Echidna Tribe. Two ancient civilizations that were wiped out by their elemental god after an era of bloody war efforts. Though Cia was young when her tribe fell, a memory that haunts her to this day, Knuckles can't exactly relate since he was born well after his tribe's destruction.

"Besides living through a few visions thanks to an echidna ghost girl, no." Knuckles answered, "For as long as I can remember, I was living alone on Angel Island guarding the Master Emerald. Didn't know the reason why. It's just how it was. It's why I'm so anxious getting it back from Kang so I don't disappoint my ancestors."

Cia grins, "I sympathize. You know, I am very knowledgeable of Echidna history. If you want, I can tell you stories back to their beginnings if you want to know the real reason why you are fated to guard the Master Emerald."

"Thanks but no." Knuckles smiled, confusing the Chronoan as he says, "I'm good not knowing the meaning behind it all. Because I feel like something will happen if I do…"

"You may be right." Cia frowned, "Actually, I feel like I shouldn't know the secrets of my clan."

"Hm? Why's that?" A curious Knuckles asked as they stop walking for this moment.

"These recent battles with Mephiles have made me wonder: If Solaris has been evil all this time with the sole purpose of erasing reality, why create Chronoa? Why bless my people with portions of his power that we used to protect his enemy that is mankind? Was there a deeper reason for why he later wiped us out, besides his rage towards Apocalypse?" Cia wondered, fearing the truth might break her.

Knuckles closes his eyes as he thinks about this for a bit. "Honestly don't know. And perhaps it's better that way." He answered, opening his eyes at the sorceress. That left Cia upset, and a little scared of a potential dark secret of her origins, so Knuckles cheers her up with a smiling, "You shouldn't worry yourself about the past. Just enjoy who you are right now and look forward having fun in the future."

Her spirits lifted, Cia smiles back, "A little difficult when part of my job is to protect the past." with a joke that got a laugh from the echidna.

Their little moment was cut short when Knuckles receives a holo-call through his wrist communicator. He answers it, which projects Yang yelling at him, 'What's the holdup, Knucklehead?! We're needed at Mazuri right away!'

"Shut up, Bushy Blonde! I was on my way 'til you interrupted me!" Knuckles angrily hangs up the call before saying his goodbyes to his fellow Guardian, "I'll see you later, Cia."

"Good luck on your mission." Cia shares the goodbye with smiling wave, wishing him luck as he rushes out to his mission.

Later… at Savannah Citadel Zone, Sakaar Realm

BGM-Sonic Unleashed OST-Savannah Citadel (Day)

Knuckles races with his team consisting of Yang, Thor, and Classic Sonic through an Efrikan savannah with a sand citadel towards their mysterious mission. The Emerald Guardian flies alongside the Thunderer above the Blue Blur, as he finish having fun rail grinding to speed through large sandy citadels, dashing past Yang's Extreme Gear hoverbike, Bumblebee II, as they make their way through the flat savannas.

"Sure there's a Chaos Emerald somewhere here, Val?" asked Yang, speaking to Valkyrie via comms.

'That's at least what reconnaissance told me.' Valkyrie responded.

"How's it feeling leading your own resistance group? Whaddya call yourselves? The 'Warbound'?" Sonic asked whilst running at breathtaking speeds.

'Aye. I have accepted leadership in helping this Realm rebel against its cruel dictator, The Maestro. It hasn't been pleasant, but I managed to found some enjoyment thwarting his plans.' Valkyrie quipped.

"Just don't enjoy it too much. If Maestro really is a future Hulk, making him madder would make him more of a headache to beat down." Yang warned the Asgardian.

"And more of a challenge! Our Hulk has been slacking lately." Thor joked.

Yang smirks at the god, "Repeat that to his ear if you really want a challenge."

"That I will after we recover the Emerald. How close are we, Knuckles?" Thor asked the renowned treasure hunter if he can sense they're closer to the Chaos Emerald.

"Pretty close! Up top that tree!" said Knuckles, pointing to the colossal tree that is the Holy Tree of Mazuri.

"Last one up top is a rotten Eggman!" quipped Sonic.

The Blue Blur shifts into turbo as he climbs the enormous tree faster than his friends. Even still, they did a remarkable job keeping up as they all arrive at the top nearly at the same time to spot the green Chaos Emerald sitting there, waiting for someone to nab it. That someone being Sonic, making a quick dash to grab it.

"Got it! Our second Emerald! Although…" Sonic glances his surroundings with a bad feeling in his stomach, "Can't shake the feeling this was too easy."

BGM-Sonic Adventure 2 OST-Suitable Opponent

The hedgehog was right to worry, as a second later the ground below his feet tremble instantly before he is uppercutted into the air by a rising Enerjak and his maniacal laughter. Yang manages to catch the falling hedgehog, just as Enerjak catches the falling Chaos Emerald with an evil smile, "Easy is right, my blue little prey! This Emerald is finally mine! And there's nothing that you worthless weaklings can do about it!"

Yang coldly snarls, "Enerjak…"

"So you're the me from a time when some chaos spirit possessed me! Better put down that Emerald if you don't want me to break your face!" Knuckles threatened his evil counterpart.

Enerjak mockingly laughs at his other self, "What a funny joke! As if frail chump of the past could defeat your superior form!"

That taunt enraged Knuckles, having him growl, "What did you say?! You asked for it! I'm punching that conceded attitude right outta you!"

Knuckles rushes at his foe with a devastating punch that is blocked by Enerjak's very own powerful fist, with the instant collision unleashing shockwaves that nearly blows away the other heroes. Pleased that his counterpart can put up a fight, Enerjak fires an energy blast that narrowly misses Knuckles but did blow up a chunk of the Holy Tree. The echidnas briefly clash, proving to be evenly matched until the Chaos God punches back his other and forces him to flee from another energy blast. Enerjak catches up to knock away his lesser self, right before fending off fierce attacks from the other heroes.

"THUNDER ARROW!" shouted Enerjak, electrocuting all his foes with his special move until all but Thor was knocked unconscious.

"Unleashing thunder on the GOD of Thunder? Most unwise, villain!" mocked Thor, countering with a powerful lightning blast that actually pushed back the demigod. Thor proves to be a greater challenge than his friends combined, with his thunder proving equal to his chaos until more strength is forced in to pressure him back a bit.

Despite enduring some damage, Enerjak seems to be really enjoying this fight. "Excellent! It's not often I'm challenged in Chrono World!" He smiled excitedly. But right after Thor hurls his hammer with all his godly might, Enerjak deflects it with enough destructive force to send it flying across this vast timespace into a time distortion, "Unfortunately though, I'm on a tight schedule." He quipped, right before defeating Thor with a devastating teleporting punch to the face.

Victorious, Enerjak looms over the defeated bodies of his enemies, right as Sakaaran Soldiers arrive to meet him. "What should we do with them, sir?" A Soldier asked, revealing Enerjak to be their boss on this mission.

"Kang still wants the red one for his Time Factor, but we'll hold off on that for now." said Enerjak, right before walking away from his men, "Attach them with Obedience Disks then throw them into the Gladiator Cells! I want to have a little more fun with them in the ring." He smiled deviously, having selfish plans for his new prisoners.

Later…

Knuckles's team is shoved into a spacious cell where other alien prisoners are lurking in the back. The thick cell door slams shut behind them with sounds loud enough to wake them up. "Urgh, my head…Where are we?" asked Modern Knuckles, tending his chest only to feel his new Obedience Disk, "Hey! What's this on me?!" He asked while struggling to rip off his Disk with no success.

"A souvenir to show we're prisoners." quipped Classic Sonic, noticing they all have their own Disk. He smiles at Thor, "Not a problem for you, big guy. You can zap them off with your lightning then 'port us outta here with your rainbow road."

Thor thrust out his arm to call for Mjolnir. But after a few awkward seconds, it's not coming, not at all. "…Something's wrong. I've been cut off from my hammer." The Thunderer noted.

"Took away my weapon too. Even our comms, so we can't call for a rescue." Yang commented, glancing at her robotic arm that still functions, "Good thing they were dumb enough to not take my robo-arm."

The blonde huntress immediately begins throwing her robo-fist into the door, which doesn't budge, not even a little. Even with combined strength from both Knuckles and Thor, it still doesn't break an inch. "HEY! LET US OUTTA HERE! GET US OUT!" Knuckles yelled whilst repeatedly punching the unbreakable door.

"Hey hey hey! Take it easy men and girl!"

Upon hearing the voice of a kindhearted gentleman, the heroes look back to find an alien made out of grey rocks and his friend who happens to be a Sakaaran slug insectoid inside a robot exoskeleton. "Over here. The pile of rocks waving at you. Yeah I'm actually a thing, I'm a being. Allow me to introduce myself, my name is Korg. I'm kind of like the leader in here. I'm made of rocks, as you can see, but don't let that intimidate you. You don't need to be afraid unless you're made of scissors." The newly-introduced Korg giggles to himself as he stands to properly greet his new, confused friends. "Just a little rock-paper-scissor joke for you." The rocky fellow gestures to the insectoid, "This is my very good friend over here, Miek. He's an insect and has knives for hands."

The non-talking Miek says hello by doing some karate moves with his bladed arms, which doesn't make the heroes any less confused at this weird situation. "Are you Thing's cousin?" The confused Yang joked.

"No, he's a Kronan." Thor answered.

"That I am." Korg confirmed his species.

"How'd you end up in here?" asked Thor, walking through this circular cell with his friends.

Korg says, "Well, I tried to start a revolution but didn't print enough pamphlets, so hardly anyone turned up. Except for my mom and her boyfriend, who I hate. As punishment, I was forced to be in here and become a gladiator. Bit of a promotional disaster that one." As Sonic tries to run ahead down the circle to find some exit, Korg continues talking, "But I'm actually organizing another revolution. I don't know if you'd be interested in something like that. Do you reckon you'd be interested?"

Just as Korg casually finished, Sonic somehow loops back around to crash into Knuckles, angering him but the surprised hedgehog simply ignores him with, "H-H-How are you all…"

"Uh, yeah, nah. This whole thing is a circle. But not a real circle, more like a freaky circle." Korg reveals they are effectively trapped in an endless circle.

"This doesn't make any sense!" The confused Sonic retorted.

"No, nothing makes sense here man. The only thing that does make sense, IS that nothing makes sense." Korg replied.

"How do we get outta here?" Yang questioned for some possible exit.

"Gotta win in the arena all the way to Maestro's champion." Korg answered.

"And who's that?" Yang crosses her arms while waiting for her answer.

"Some masked guy named Enerjak." said Korg, unintentionally annoying his new friends since that Champion was the same monster that beat them into prison in the first place.

"Has anyone fought that guy and maybe found a weakness or something?" Knuckles asked.

"Doug has. Doug!" Korg shouts at a nearby corpse, who happens to be Doug, "Oh right. Doug's dead." He said nonchalantly, "That's right. Everyone who fights the Maestro's champion perishes."

"What about you? You're made of rocks." Thor replied.

"Perishable rocks." said Korg, as a pebble falls off his body, "There you go. Another one gone. Yeah, no, I just do the smaller fights, warm up the crowd and whatnot. Wait wait. You guys aren't gonna face him, are you?"

"Yes we are." said Thor, walking away with his team, "Fight him, win, fight Maestro, win, get back our Emerald, and get the Hel out of this place!"

Korg smiles, "That's exactly what Doug used to say. See you later, new Dougs."

Sakaar Arena

BGM-Thor Ragnarok OST-No One Escapes

To survive in the arena, you must choose the best armor and weapons that fit your fighting style. That is what the Avengers realized upon being led to a weapons rack. Each hero outfitted themselves with Sakaaran-class armor and stylized war paint, with Yang braiding her hair into double dutches. And Thor? "NOOOOOO!" Receiving a terrifying haircut by a strangely familiar old man. Next came the weapons. Modern Knuckles slams down his new war hammer. Classic Sonic slashes the air with his new sword before posing with it and his new shield. Yang cocks her new magma shotgun with a smile. And Thor is looking ready to unleash the thunder with a variety of weapons, from a mace and shield to a pair of retractable swords stored on his back.

At last, it's game time. Hundreds of thousands of spectators are seen packed into the stadium seats, ready to see blood spill and heads fly. The Sakaaran Champion, Enerjak, stands broodingly atop a balcony alongside The Maestro sitting patiently on his throne waiting for the bloody entertainment. Omochao is with his masters as well, ready to begin the chaos with nothing but his microphone.

"Wow! Look at all of you. Welcome back, true believers, to the Sakaar Battle Tournament! It's your friendly realm Omochao coming to you live from the Grand Arena to commentate over the most epic battles ever waged across time! Big round of applause for all of our undercard competitors…most who died so gruesomely. Good sports. Anyway, without further ado, its main event time!" yelled Omochao to all those watching at the stadium or at home. The crowds go wild, delivering insane applauses as it's time to announce the newest gladiators, "Making their first appearance is a ragtag team of mighty heroes that have been working day and night battling the forces of the Chronos Corps in a vain attempt to save the multiverse! Ladies and gentlemen…I give to you…THE AVENGERS!"

Enter Knuckles's team, the Gladiator Avengers, looking up at the screaming crowds that are either cursing their name or cheering for their victory. "Quick question…" Sonic casually turns to Yang with, "Why'd you braid your hair?"

"Either that or have it be a disaster like Thor's." quipped Yang, glancing at Thor's nicely shaved head that makes him look like a famous movie star.

"You look cute." Sonic complimented her new gladiator huntress look.

"Thanks. You too." Yang smiles at the little adorable gladiator hedgehog.

"HEY! YOU TWO, LOOKING PRETTY UP THERE!" yelled Knuckles, furiously earning the calm looks of both Maestro and Enerjak, "STOP WASTING OUR TIME AND LET'S REALLY SKIP TO THE MAIN EVENT! BRING DOWN THAT COWARD OF A CHAMPION FOR HIS EARLY KNUCKLE SANDWICH!" He threatened the ultimate monsters with scowling gritted teeth and a raised fist.

Nonchalantly, Maestro presses a button on his remote control that activates Knuckles's Obedience Disk, painfully electrocuting the echidna as he falls in a humorous fashion. "Patience, little one. You'll get the chance to faceoff with my Champion only if you survive the coming battles. Become the strongest…" The Green King then reveals the Chaos Emerald his Champion found at Mazuri in his hand, "And I'll give you this Chaos Emerald as your prize acknowledging your strength. Now enough wasting my time with embarrassing attempts to anger me and get on with survival."

"You heard it first from the Incredible Green King himself! Let's get this show on the road and start the preliminary rounds!" Omochao exclaimed.

BGM-Marvel Ultimate Alliance 3 OST-Bring on the Bad Guys

For the first round, it's against a Sakaaran Giant Boar. The molten lava-looking beast with two large energy tusks stops outside of the gate ready to go on a savage rampage. "Sakaar is home to some majestic beasts…but this ain't one of 'em! I guarantee that this round will be anything but boar-ing! Get it? Boar…ing?" sighed Omochao, failing to be funny to the audience.

Thor puts on his badass gladiator version of his iconic helmet, ready to rumble alongside his friends. The Giant Boar lunges at the heroes for a quick smash but missed when they dodged it, but was able to swiftly smack all but Thor away with its tusks. The Warrior God uses his shield to deflect its tusks before grabbing one of them, using his godly strength to spin then hurl the beast at a wall. The annoyed Boar retaliated, knocking back the Asgardian with a savage charge.

"C'mon, piggy! Wanna play?" shouted Sonic, taunting the giant pig to focus on him for his secret plan. "Toro toro toro!" Flaunting Thor's red cape straight at it as if they're bullfighting, the Boar was goaded into furiously charging at them, only for Sonic to quickly intercept with a spinning sword slash to its legs causing it to trip and fall, allowing the blue hedgehog to pulverize its back with lightning-fast Spin Attacks before Thor finishes it off with a lightning-powered slam from his mace.

"Thought you can't use your lightning without your hammer." said Sonic.

"I am still a God without my hammer, just like you are still a quickster without your regular shoes." smirked Thor, earning a little chuckle from the hedgehog.

Crowds cheer profusely over their victory in the first round, but the survival has only begun. "Was that an electrifying way to take down a Boar or what? Sparks will continue to fly as our gamma-powered creatures of death rampage into the scene, say hello to the Gamma Grimm!" Omochao announced.

"Gamma what?" exclaimed Yang, shocked upon turning to their new wave of monsters. Exposed to gamma rays in an alternate timeline later tamed by Maestro, this swarm of mutated Grimm appear and surround the heroes with various slurs, before a monstrous, "GROOOOOOOOR!" from a Hulkish-Gamma Beowolf ready to smash some bones.

"Where's your sister's silver eyes when you need 'em?" Knuckles joked.

"Doubt they'll work against these green beasties." Yang expressed, believing Silver Eyes would prove ineffective against Gamma Grimm.

The second round begins, and the Avengers are quick to show off their incredible powers against the incredible Grimm. Knuckles clashes with the Gamma Beowolf for a bit, looking evenly matched until the Guardian found an opening to smash his hammer straight into its face. Up against a swarm of Gamma Sulfur Fish, Yang burns them all with explosive blasts of magma from her shotgun. "STOP! STEALING! MY! MOVES!" yells Sonic, clashing high-speed Spin Attacks with Gamma Boarbatusks. Wielding his dual swords, Thor blitzes through Gamma Cenitaurs and Centinels before blowing away Gamma Beringels with a massive energy wave.

All but several Gamma Sulfur Fishes remain, so they decided it's time to combine into a stronger form. Binding themselves with their tails, the creatures combine into a gamma-powered humanoid golem that confronts both Knuckles and Yang. One of its punches were powerful enough to blow away Yang, while the next was briefly blocked by Knuckles before he too was knocked down. As it goes for a leaping finisher, Knuckles rolls from it in time, tricking it into having its right fist stuck to the ground. The grinning echidna slices through its knitted arm with his hammer before doing the same to its left knitted leg, causing it to fall into a dashing uppercut from Yang that sends her up to the sky, before using her robot arm to recoil herself back down for a destructive finishing punch down on its head. Upon landing, Yang shares a friendly fist bump with Knuckles to conclude their victory of the second round.

"Surviving the Gamma swarm was no small feat! Are these rookies amazing or what? It now comes to this! An Arena swarmed once more, this time by robotic slave-warriors courtesy of our beloved Champion and his collection of souls! Have yourselves a helping horde of Prelates!" Omochao announced.

Here it is. The final round of the preliminaries, featuring the Prelates. Sleek, silver metallic slaves of Enerjak that come in different shapes and sizes powered by their own extracted soul. "Using souls to power up bots? And I thought Eggman was low using little bunnies." snarled Sonic, scowling at Enerjak who simply replies with a scoffing evil grin.

"DEMON!" Thor curses out Enerjak while brutally bashing his mace on a Prelate, "I am more than eager now to vanquish you in the name of these stolen souls!"

The Prelates prove to be their toughest challenge yet. Their energy weapons can pack quite a punch, and they demonstrate the ability to quickly reboot themselves even after a swift beatdown. The heroes are almost pushed to a corner by these persistent robots until Thor rises to the air to call upon a thundering maelstrom that swallows them whole. Lightning from the mighty tornado electrocutes them all, weakening them for strong precise punches from Knuckles and Yang, and in Sonic's case, a sword stab through the chest destroying them. With not many Prelates left, Thor comes down with a lightning-powered sword slam that finishes them off, thus making the Avengers the victors of the preliminary rounds.

BGM-Ultimate Marvel vs. Capcom 3 OST-Victory Theme

"That was absolutely AMAZING! The Avengers made it through the preliminaries! Rare to watch challengers plow through some of Sakaar's most powerful creatures with fancy dazzling power! Give them a round of applause and wish them luck in the next match after this break so I can bet all my money on them!" Omochao announced with such incredible excitement.

The audience couldn't contain their excitement either. Even those that were booing at them earlier can't help but join the hundreds of fans applauding their new heroes for giving them an amazing match. A smiling Thor holds up his sword in the air whilst triumphantly yelling out a, "YES!" to his fans. He continues smiling while turning to his friends, "I don't know about the rest of you, but I haven't had this much fun battling monsters in a tourney in ages!"

Knuckles scoffs as he too smiles, "Hate to admit it, but this was a lot of fun. Can't wait for them to bring out a REAL challenge for me to smack down!"

Upon in his throne, Maestro remains calm yet impressed by the heroes' strength. He senses something unique about them, which is saying a lot as he has defeated many powerful challengers across time and took their prized weapons as personal trophies. Rumors claim that he also took the helmet of the Mighty Galactus as a trophy after an epic battle with the cosmic devourer.

"You were right to bring them in as competitors. They show promise. Only here they are free to unleash their full power." Maestro said to Enerjak.

"It'll make defeating them THAT more rewarding. Let them continue growing in strength. It will not matter against our might. In the end, here in Sakaar, WE will prove ourselves as the most powerful champions in the universe." said Enerjak, revealing that their little plan is to simply defeat the strongest warriors in history to keep themselves entertained, "Then I look forward defeating you in the New Era." He smiles deviously at his friendly gamma rival.

The grinning Maestro chuckles at his little joke, "You will try."

"Repeat that to me. Thor and the others are doing what?"

That question was asked by a holographic projection of Tony Stark, who, alongside Bruce Banner, is in the middle of a holo-chat discussing recent events with Valkyrie, Blake, Ultimate Spider-Man and Wolverine at Scrapyard, a murky island in Sakaar filled with scrap acting as the hideout for the Warbound. Whether they be Sakaaran or Earthling, anyone who wishes to repel against the Maestro's tyranny are allowed freedom in this trashy zone. It stinks a little, but it's better than dying in polluted gamma plains.

"They were captured and became gladiators, and quickly became fan-favorites." Valkyrie reports the current situation to the armored avenger.

"Glad to hear they're having fun while we're standing around devising a plan to defeat Maestro." Stark quipped while Bruce pinches his nose in tired shock.

"How's that coming along by the way?" asked Blake, wanting the current status of their plan from the scientists working on it at Avengers Tower.

"Just finished building the new-and-improved Hulkbuster. All that's left is whipping up a magnetic field generator and a gamma absorption controller to complete the Gamma Arc Reactor. Shouldn't take terribly long. Once complete, we'll be able to drain the gamma energy out of Maestro's cells, making him that much easier to beat." Stark explained the plan to defeat Maestro.

"And once he is defeated, Kang will be out his strongest ally." Valkyrie added.

"I dunno, guys. This still sounds extremely risky." Banner voiced his worries over their plan.

"It is, but we have no other choice. The survival of this entire Realm HINGES on us vanquishing Maestro." Valkyrie expressed.

"Which would be much easier if we use this weapon on me." Banner calmly retorted, earning weird looks from his shocked friends.

"Why waste our time doing that?" Wolverine asked.

"Even your nose can smell the similarities. Just one look at that guy and the truth is clear. He's me. Or rather…" The frowning Banner lowers his head in shame and guilt, "Me once I give up fighting and finally let the Hulk's rage take full control."

"In an alternate future." Tony quipped.

But Banner swiftly argues, "Doesn't matter whatever dark future the Maestro came from. Because of him, because of ME, time is collapsing and our friends and countless innocents are now his slaves. He's my worst fears brought to this reality. And the best way to kick him out is by destroying the Hulk. At the very least, test the reactor on me-."

"Too dangerous, Bruce." Tony cuts him off by slapping a friendly hand on his shoulder, "I won't risk killing a friend just to kill an enemy. Besides, we only have one shot at this, and that shot HAS to be aimed at Maestro."

"A more efficient alternative would for me to keep the Hulk locked away inside me. If he never comes out…then maybe I won't live to see the Maestro come out either." said Banner, really blaming himself for the Maestro's tyrannical actions.

"And I thought the Hulk was messed up…" Miles joked.

"I understand your pain, Banner. We ALL had times fearing what fate has in store for us." Valkyrie proclaimed.

Blake takes a step towards Bruce with her own little pep talk, "She's right. I keep fearing of a day when Faunus and Humans will never get along." She gestures to Wolverine, "Same is said between Mutants and Humans. It's no secret we've been seen as dangerous. Some as dangerous as the Hulk. But no matter how difficult it is and how long it will take, we'll keep fighting to ensure a better future where everyone is happy and treated as equals."

"And it doesn't hurt having a friend by your side. A science bro that is also an extremely handsome billionaire." Tony quips a smile at his fellow scientist.

"I don't know…" mutters Banner, still a little scared of himself despite their best attempts to cheer him up.

"Look, regardless, Maestro needs to be taken out ASAP. Even with the Hulkbuster, our chances at winning are slim when there's also Enerjak and their armies to worry about." Stark expressed his worry over Maestro's terrifying army.

"Leave that to us. We currently have a plan underway to spark a rebellion within Crown City. Maestro's guards pose a threat to the civilians even if our friends win the tournament. Earning support from the gladiators will help us eliminate them. How ironic that our friends' capture will lead to the Maestro's downfall." said Valkyrie, claiming to have the perfect plan to conquer the city.

"And Enerjak? How're we going to deal with him? He's just as tough as Maestro, and Scarlet Witch is busy finding a solution to seal Mephiles so we can't rely on her Chaos Magic." Banner claimed.

"First we need to separate them." Valkyrie replied.

"Won't be easy." Banner believed.

"I beg to differ." said Valkyrie, smirking with a devious plan in mind, "He is still Knuckles behind all that chaos and armor, and we're ALL aware how gullible he can be. All it takes is a little…trickery."

Later…at Sakaar Arena

"Is this true?"

Enerjak was relaxing on the balcony throne waiting for the next match to start when one of his men approached him with very important news. "Yes my lord. We located a Chaos Emerald in an unexplored section of this timespace. We sent men to retrieve it but the rebels kept stopping us from getting closer." His Sakaaran Guard informed.

"My senses don't lie. I know I scouted this entire dimension for any more Emeralds." Enerjak stated sternly.

"Scans indicate it was recently dropped by a random time distortion." The Guard replied.

As the brooding Chaos God relaxes his head on his fist, he utters, "Hmm…Maestro's off in another conquest. Is there anyone else close by?"

"No, sir. You're the closest." The Guard answered.

Reluctantly, the lazy Enerjak gets off the throne to face his goon. "I'll go and investigate. If this is a waste of time, I'll have your head for driving me away from this match." He scares him, "Though I could care less who wins as long as they give me fun in the finals, I just despise missing a good show." He said before teleporting away.

BGM-Sonic Riders OST-Get Ready for the Big Event

Drums beat as loud as earthquakes signaling to the semi-finals of the tournament. The moment Knuckles's team walk out of their gate with smiles and waves was enough to energize an already frenzied crowd chanting insanely for, "AVENGERS! AVENGERS! AVENGERS!" while eagerly awaiting the match to start.

"Even I'm surprised how quickly we became famous." Sonic smiled.

"Indeed. All of Sakaar has recognized our strength. Regaining hope that they can be freed from Maestro's tyranny." Thor replied.

"What're they waiting for? I'm gettin' impatient! Start the next match already!" said Sonic, repeatedly attacking the air as he can't wait for this fight to start.

Being alone on the balcony isn't stopping Omochao from being full of energy as he eagerly announces to the audience, "And welcome back to the Arena! I know you all can't wait any longer, so let's get right into the semi-finals! Instead of survival, it's a four-on-four deathmatch, or as close in being dead! STEP RIGHT UP, SMASHERS!"

From the other side of the Avengers are four new gladiators walking out of their gate. And these new fighters look shockingly familiar to the heroes. The Eternal Wanderer, Ryu. The Fire Aegis, Pyra. The Green Warlord of Battleworld, Skaar. And Monica Rambeau, also known as the Energy Avenger of the Ultimates, Spectrum. The Smash Champions, friends from different dimensions, are now their enemies in this dangerous tournament.

"Odin's beard…" A shocked Thor recognized his old friends.

"Ryu! Pyra!" Yang exclaimed.

Ryu smiles, "It's been a while, friends."

"Sorry we're reuniting under these circumstances." Pyra sheepishly smiled.

"You know these guys?" asked Classic Sonic, turning to his team since he hasn't met the Smash Champions yet in his timeline.

"We worked together in other tournaments to save our worlds. Spectrum's the only one from our dimension as a member of the Ultimates." The smiling Yang answered.

"Can't believe we're already facing with a Hulk. A good warmup before pounding Maestro." Knuckles mocked the Gamma Prince.

"Skaar will be one to pound Maestro! Maestro will pay putting me in cage!" Skaar expressed with his giant war hammer and battle axe.

"Is that the same story for the rest of you?" Thor asked his friendly opponents.

"Yup. Tried to rebel only to get thrown into prison. Winning this tournament is the only way outta here." Spectrum replied.

BGM End

Suddenly, the Obedience Disks activate, and both teams feel the torturing pain coursing throughout their entire bodies until the Arena Guard Captain in control decided it was enough. "Enough talk! Get on with the fight!" The jerk ordered them unless they want to be tortured some more.

BGM-Thor Ragnarok OST-Arena Fight

Spectrum lets out a paining grunt, "Sorry guys…Seems like we have no choice but to fight. We'll try our best to hold back." She warned her begrudging opponents.

"Try that and this fight won't be nearly as fun." smirked Knuckles, acting cocky as his team take their fighting stances.

"Heh. It's your funeral." grinned Spectrum, taking a fighting stance alongside her own teammates.

The Gladiator Avengers versus the Smash Champions. Which team will come out on top to face Enerjak in the finals? The answer lies in the heart of this battle. Skaar wastes no more time and charges at the Avengers with insane speed to get this match started. The Avengers dodge his first few attacks until Skaar shatters Thor's shield and sends him flying across the arena until he draws a sword to stab the ground to slow his momentum. Back on his feet, Thor draws his other sword to face off against Skaar. His gamma might prove equal to Hulk as he kicks Thor with enough brutality to send him slamming into a wall. Thor jumps down just in time to avoid Skaar's warhammer, which hits so hard that it remains lodged in the wall. With Skaar charging again, Thor rips the warhammer out of the wall and wallops the Warlord with it, having him crashing alongside the arena until he ends up sprawled out in a pile of rubble, briefly dazed before getting up again, madder than ever, with a ferocious roar that screams he's only getting started with the God.

Meanwhile, it's Classic Sonic's speed versus Pyra's fire. The Aegis uses Blazing End to set her blade ablaze while throwing it at the hedgehog, but it wasn't fast enough to catch him as he easily counters with a Drop Dash that trips her. As Sonic reaches a wall, he uncurls to bounce off for a follow-up strike, but it didn't land when Pyra swiftly transforms into another woman. Awakening another Aegis within her that commands the light. It's Mythra, and she was fast enough to leap away from Sonic's sword strike.

"What?" Sonic exclaimed, rightfully surprised by their body swap. With a cocky smirk, Mythra uses Photon Edge to charge at Sonic with speeds that catch him off-guard, slashing him with light-speed strikes that blow away his shield whilst blowing away the hedgehog himself.

"Surprised, kid?" Mythra smugingly mocks the recovering hedgehog.

Sonic simply scoffs, "Two-in-one? And you seem a little faster than the other girl."

"Oh, I'm MORE than a 'little' fast." quipped Mythra, ready to unleash another Photon Edge.

"I'll be the judge of that." snarked Sonic, charging his Spin Dash up to maximum power, "Time to show you what true speed really is!" Both speedsters then unleash their special attacks, charging at each other before vanishing from sight. To the naked eye, the audience could see nothing but the explosive shockwaves emitting from their clashes. But to a superhuman, one could barely watch them fight at awestruck speeds, trading powerful blows whenever one could briefly spot an opening.

Those two aren't the only ones having fun. Yang and Ryu are also having a blast trading blows as skilled martial artists. No words are exchanged in their duel, only allowing their fists to do the talking. A powerful strike causes Yang to struggle standing as Ryu pummels her with fierce blows that get her blood boiling, managing to block his next punch with a punch of her own. Master and student exchange intense scowls until Yang leaps back only to dash back with a knee strike knocking him back for a powerful spinning kick that really put in the hurt. Though staggered by that last attack, Ryu gathers the strength to counter her punch with a somersault judo throw. With Yang dazed, Ryu gathers even more strength to charge up his iconic Hadoken. Once fully charged, he unleashes it at full force and it seemed to have connected with the sight of a massive explosion. But somehow, Yang dodged his special move as she jumps out of the explosion, igniting her right fist whilst leaping towards Ryu to deliver it to him a fiery punch that he's calmly ready to go against.

The massive crowds are eating up these epic fights as they never watched anything like them before, and the fight between Knuckles and Spectrum is just as big of an awesome treat. The echidna brawler dodges a rain of blasts before sliding to deliver a fierce punch at Spectrum, only for her to simply phase through his attack and blast him in the back. Switching tactics, Knuckles burrows himself into the ground to confuse her, getting her tense and worried until she is hit with a surprise, powerful rising uppercut from the unveiled brawler. Spectrum manage to recover in the air, blowing him away with blasts and taunts, "Was that the best you got, or were you lying when you always bragged you beat Hulk a few times?"

"I DID! Through cunning, not just strength!" retorted Knuckles, grabbing a large piece of debris to throw at Spectrum, who easily shatters it into pieces with a simple blast.

"Yeah that was pretty smart." She retorts sarcastically.

Knuckles growls, having had enough of her taunts as he shouts, "Woman, you are just ASKING for a beating!" The enraged Guardian revs up a Spin Dash, then launches himself into walls to bounce off several times at high speed around Spectrum to once again make her wary of when, and where, the attack will land.

Yet surprisingly, Spectrum remains steadily calm in the air. She does her best to keep track of his movements, waiting patiently while thinking, 'That's it. Get mad. Hit me with everything you got. We only have one shot and not much time.'

BGM End

What happens in this next moment changes everything. Knuckles's bouncing punch attack lands a decisive blow on Spectrum, one she purposely redirected to target and destroy her Obedience Disk. It hurt, a lot, but it was worth it, as Spectrum is now free from Maestro's control. "Perfect…! You broke the disk! I'm free! In the perfect spot, just after recognizing its energy frequency." With it, she transforms into an energy form while powering up for something special, "Now it's time for all of Sakaar to enjoy this freedom!"

BGM-Marvel Future Revolution OST-The Sacrifice

Spectrum thrust her hand to the sky unleashing a massive energy shockwave that encompasses the entire Grand Arena, inside and out. The shockwave fries nothing but the Obedience Disks, freeing her friends in the Avengers and Smash Champions from gladiator slavery.

Meanwhile…at Gladiator Cells

The heroes weren't the only ones freed. Korg, Miek, and the other gladiators were also free the moment their Disks powered down. The door into their cells bust down, right before Miles runs into the room shouting, "Think I found the room!"

Blake quickly meets inside the prison holding a high-tech rifle she stole as she asks the gladiators, "Anyone the leader in here?"

"Who's asking?" asked Korg while standing up, "I know you're asking. Is anyone else asking, or is it just you?"

Blake smiles, "We're friends of the Avengers, and we have a gift." before tossing him the rifle.

"The revolution has begun!" exclaimed Korg, cocking his weapon as he and the freed gladiators are ready to rebel at full force.

At Crown City…

"The gladiators are free!" said Wolverine, having heard from Blake through their comms.

The plan is in motion. The rebellion has begun. The hundreds of slaves that were forced to be gladiators are now free to take their revenge out on Maestro's guards, with some hurrying to join Valkyrie's Warbound just as they are spotted entering the city ready to further fan the flames of revolution.

"You heard correctly, my fellow Warbound! No more slaves! Just free people tied only by the bonds they have chosen!" Valkyrie triumphantly thrust her mystical sword to the sky as she yells, "CLAIM FREEDOM! FOR THESE LANDS, AND ALL OF CHRONO WORLD!"

"YEAAAAAAH!" Her Warbound screamed with much hope, as they follow her and Wolverine to conquer the city in the name of freedom.

Back at Sakaar Arena…

BGM-Marvel Future Revolution OST-Revolution Starts Here

"You tricked me!" shouted Knuckles, angry at Spectrum for secretly using him to spark this rebellion in the first place.

"Both you and Enerjak. It was the only way to come and save you guys and the other gladiators with not too much trouble. This way it'll be much easier for the Warbound to take back this city." Spectrum revealed their secret plan to the Avengers.

"You guys took a big risk letting yourselves get captured." Yang grinned.

"I'm not hearing a 'You're welcome'." Myrtha snarked.

Just then, the Arena Guard Captain along with a few of his troops rush into the arena to find the heroes freed from their control. "No! The Maestro will have our heads for this. It will NOT stand." The Captain turns to his lackeys, "What are you waiting for? Kill them!"

"It is too late. The city has been seized by the rebels. The gladiators have risen up against us!" One of the Arena Bug Guards announced.

Cornered and with little options remaining, the guards have no other choice but to flee from the arena, giving control over to the heroes. "Yeah, you bugs better run!" chuckled Sonic, mocking the fleeing cowards.

But the battle for Sakaar has only just begun. Unbeknownst to the heroes as they walk away, they are being spied on by a familiar, yet incredibly terrifying Hulkish king that scares away spectators with his mere presence alone. Alongside a single throw with a broken Captain America Shield that intercepts them was more than enough for the heroes to halt completely with extreme worry. "THAT is not a good sign…" joked Spectrum, widening her eyes at the monster they're about to face.

Leaping to confront the heroes is none other than The Maestro himself, having returned from conquest in time to fight back for his kingdom. "Not so fast, heroes. Victory is not yours. Not yet. You may have conquered my Arena through underhanded tactics…" He then clenches his fist to emphasize, "But only those strong enough to survive my wrath leave this place alive." The Gamma King takes a fighting stance of a skilled fighter, ready to not just smash, but outright devastate these rebels in this special match that'll decide the fate of the Sakaar Realm.

BGM-Sonic the Hedgehog (2006) OST-Extras

KFX Here: We're just starting the second half and things have gotten even crazier. As I'm sure you've noticed, this chapter took influence from the MCU movie, Thor: Ragnarok, which took influence from the classic comic book, Planet Hulk. The battle for the title "Strongest" has begun and will end in the next chapter. Also, Pyra/Myrtha were introduced into the series through MetalJrock's Super United Heroes: The Secret War, with Skaar (based on Marvel Realm of Champions's character) being introduced here, unless that changes.

Dragen slayer: Got kicked across the Sol Realm by both Sonic and Blaze in Act 2 Issue 5.
