Shadow: I'm Shadow the Hedgehog. The one and only Ultimate Lifeform. We prevented Kang from harnessing the power of the Wisps for his Solaris Project. At the same time, we've also learned that the Brother Gods of Remnant have been revived and have been aligned with Solaris all this time as his children. Whether that is true or not doesn't matter to me. They just better not cross my path, if they don't want to meet a second death.

Paris, France. Remnant Realm

BGM-Spider-Man Unlimited (Game) OST-Boss!

"BWAHAHAHA!" The mad cackle of a returning Gold Goblin frightens civilians more than they already are during this invasion on Paris led by the Chronos Corps. Several people flee in terror the second they spot the supervillain in their vicinity, but that just makes things more fun in Osborn's eyes as he hurls a pumpkin bomb to kill as many as he chaotically can in one shot. Too bad for him, the fun was cut short by the quick intervention of Modern Sonic the Hedgehog kicking the bomb far away from the populace.

"There's an evacuation truck down the road! You can't miss it!" Sonic hurries the civilians to flee, which they promptly do before he pursues Goblin.

"You just HAD to stop me from striking gold!" Goblin puns while firing missiles from his Goblin Glider at the speedy hero.

"That's reserved for me, goldilocks!" quipped Sonic, easily dodging the missiles but failing to close the gap between him and his prey.

Their high-speed clash takes them to the Eiffel Tower where Gold Goblin decides to make things a little tricky and fly up the wall, forcing Sonic to pursue him there. He hurls a smokescreen bomb that blinds the hedgehog until he runs out of it, but by the time he did Goblin was nowhere in his sights. As they reach the top, Goblin reappeared behind Sonic and finally lands several missiles that blasts the speedster high off the tower, sending him crashing to the ground below dazed and injured. Goblin laughs maniacally as he flies down to deliver the kill with a pumpkin bomb. He throws the bomb at Sonic, but at the last moment he was saved by a mysterious chaotic energy barrier that blocked the explosion.

"What?" Goblin exclaimed in surprise, right before he was blasted back by an energy bolt from Sonic's savior, who happens to be Scarlet Witch descending into the fight. "Another uninvited guest? That's fine. We can dance in the City of Light." The goblinfied maniac reels back a pumpkin bomb in one hand while holding out another, "Come! Let me brighten up your day!"

Gold Goblin laughs as he readies himself to do battle with Wanda, not realizing this is to distract him from Sonic's recovery. Once he's back on his feet, Sonic saw this as his one chance to finish him off and leaps right at him at blistering speeds, putting loads of strength into a single swinging kick across the face that was enough to knock him out, as well as a tooth. Both heroes stand victorious over his unconscious body, pleased they stopped him before he caused any major damage, until they were turned away by a female voice with a French accent.

"It would seem business is done." This voice belongs to Guillotine, Paris' resident hero and Cursed Wielder of La Fleur du Mal, as she approaches the duo alongside a squadron of GUN Soldiers.

Sonic smiles, "Yup. He's all yours." prompting the GUN Soldiers to take Gold Goblin into their custody so he may never cause trouble again.

"How goes evacuation, Guillotine?" asked Wanda.

"Nearly finished. Once it is, I will join the others in direct assault of the army. Will you two be joining us?" Guillotine replied.

"Sorry. Captain America wants us for another mission of grave importance in a neighboring region. He'll be here shortly to pick us up." Wanda answered.

Guillotine nods, "Entendue. Then I wish you two luck in your mission."

"Likewise." Wanda replied.

"See ya later." The smiling Sonic waves the swordswoman goodbye, who replies the same way as she leaves them to continue protecting Paris.

BGM-Dragon Ball FighterZ OST-Spirit

It'll be some time before Captain America shows up, so Sonic and Wanda decide to spend their little break atop the Eiffel Tower. With the speedster sitting on the railing and the witch leaning on it, they both have an amazing view of the City of Light, devastated thanks to Kang's invasion. Fires ravaging in many districts, people running for their lives, local military battling against Kang's forces. Makes the duo wonder how they're going to save them all when hope seems to be depleting.

"Man, things have gotten messy." Sonic commented.

"All thanks to Kang. With every city we save, another one falls, and his appetite won't be satiated until everything across time is conquered." said Wanda with a grim expression.

"We'll stop 'em, just like every other would-be-conqueror." Sonic replied with a smile that hasn't lost hope yet, "By the way, heard you found a spell that could seal away Mephiles."

"Yes, with the light of chaos. With that magic, I'll be able to seal him within a labyrinth that his darkness can't break through. But we'll need to weaken him to his primordial form for it to be fully effective." Wanda explained.

"That'll be tricky, since that guy's tricky to fight." Sonic quipped, knowing Mephiles is strong and possibly has gotten stronger since their last bout.

Wanda smiles, "We're both masters of chaos, alongside Shadow. We'll do fine. Speaking of chaos, have you ever experienced a time when the Chaos Emeralds changed form?" She then asked him that curious question.

"Huh? What brings this up?" A confused Sonic replied.

"My studies while searching for the sealing spell. They taught me the Emeralds can take many incarnations depending on the energies they're reacting. You're the most experienced with them, so I thought I'd ask you." Wanda clarified.

Still very confused, Sonic scratches his head while trying to remember a time when the Chaos Emeralds grew stronger, "Hmm…I'm not very good remembering things that don't happen on a daily basis. Kid Me may know something…" But as he thinks deep to his memories, he suddenly recalls a few things, "Wait…I think there was that ONE time, when I first visited Angel Island. Think Knuckles was hiding some 'rainbow Warp Ring' to his Hidden Palace and thought to check it out. Second I was there I noticed the Master Emerald for the first time and some other stones that used the Chaos Emeralds to become seven larger grey stones. Had no idea what was going on, so I went outta my way to unlock their power."

"You were curious. So, were you able to revive them?" Wanda asked, having become interested in his story.

"Think so." Sonic replied unsurely as he continues flashbacking to his past, "Nothing happened 'til I was chasing Eggman in space when I suddenly gained a hyper boost of power. Maybe cuz I was so focused on the Master Emerald he was running away with? Dunno. That power didn't last very long, and that was so many years ago. Maybe that's why I'm having a hard time remembering."

"Thanks anyway. That information could prove useful for future battles." Wanda foreshadowed.

Sonic casually shrugs, "Eh. Always found my Super Form to be just enough for the grand party."

Just when they finished their friendly conversation, the duo were met by a Quinjet descending to their airspace. The hatch door opens revealing Steve Rogers who gestures them to hop in, "Glad to see you two are doing okay. Come on! Time is of the essence!"

"Heh. You should know by now, Cap." smiled Sonic, leaping into the jet alongside Wanda, "Time may fly, but I'm even faster!" The hedgehog joked as the hatch closes, right as the Quinjet flies off to its new destination.

Inside the Quinjet…

Sonic and Wanda sit alongside the other members of this strike team, consisting of Ruby Rose, Horseman Magik, Ultimate Spider-Man, Oscar Pine, Classic Knuckles, Lady Thor, and Yu Narukami. So far it's a smooth ride from Paris with Steve on the pilot seat, constantly keeping aware of the controls and his surroundings before addressing to his team, "We're seven minutes away from our destination. Mind briefing us on the mission, Magik?"

"Of course, Captain." Magik replied. With all eyes and ears focused on her, the Limbo Queen begins the mission briefing with, "Our destination is an abandoned Temple of Time from Remnant's distant past that has become the newest target of Kang's conquest. He is on a quest to harness the Aether to further his conquest of Chrono World to revive Solaris."

"What's the Aether?" asked by a curious Sonic.

Magik grimly replies, "An ancient magical force of infinite destruction, capable of changing matter into dark matter, seeking out host bodies to draw strength from their finite lifeforce. According to Cia, it was created during the primordial days of Remnant by the God Brother of Darkness to be used as a weapon against his brother when they had their 'sibling bouts'. The God of Light defeated his brother and took the Aether away from him, keeping it locked away in another dimension that can only be accessed through the Abandoned Temple."

"The Dark Relic of Reality…A secret 5th Relic that neither Ozpin nor I knew about until today." Oscar commented somberly.

"I am certain there are tons you don't know about your Gods, now that we know they are our enemy as Children of Solaris wanting to revive their father." said Lady Thor to the young farmhand, as all the Avengers have been informed of their betrayal.

"That still surprises me. They gave Ozpin the power to reincarnate so he may be used as a guide to unite humanity by the time they return. But having grown fearful of that united potential, were they still going to destroy us?" wondered Oscar, pondering on that worrisome thought.

"What the Devil of Time decide…the Gods of Remnant follow." Wanda proclaimed sternly, "Solaris is the one with a grudge against humanity and doesn't tolerate freewill. Ozpin was nothing but a pawn in a game he didn't even know was being played. Same can easily be said for Salem. Light and darkness…Neither has control over the wheel of fate, only forced to submit to its will." She described the controlling relationship between Solaris and the Brother Gods.

Oscar frowns, "Then what does that make me? A…pawn of a pawn?"

"No. Only YOU decide your own destiny. You're free to be whoever you want." Ruby retorted to cheer him up.

"Even though it wasn't my decision to be Ozpin's reincarnation?" Oscar snarked deadpannedly.

"NEITHER of you want to be pawns that get everyone killed, do ya?" asked Miles.

"Heh. No we do not." Oscar grinned, "But I do want to know the truth. Perhaps the answers lie within that Temple."

Steve shoots a glancing smile at the reincarnated warrior, "We'll find out soon enough. Get ready. We're nearly there."

Later, at the Temple of Time…

The Temple of Time. Constructed in Remnant's ancient times, long before Ozma's era, by ancient sages under the orders of the God of Light to protect the Aether from evil. From the outside, this abandoned temple still looks quite beautiful with unaged rose gardens and fountains, but at the same time distorted, littered with gears and tributes to the various incarnations of Solaris, specifically statues of the Time Eater, Mephiles, Iblis, and Solaris himself.

Of course, this temple of secrets is under attack by the Chronos Corps and the local military is doing their best to stop them. One of the soliders helping against Kang is Kali Belladonna, the kind cat Faunus mother of Blake, playing the role as a medic to bandage her fellow soliders, no matter their species. She was just about done patching up a solider when she noticed the Quinjet descending near her vicinity to drop off the Avengers.

"This bringing back any lost memories?" Knuckles asked Oscar upon landing on the ground.

"Not at all." Oscar answered, "None of Ozpin's previous incarnations ever set foot in this place. Perhaps because it was sealed behind a barrier beyond time, until Kang's meddling brought it here."

"Avengers!" Kali shouted, getting their attention as she rushes to greet them with a smile, "Thanks goodness. We could really use the support."

"Long time no see, Mrs. B." The smiling Sonic waves her a hello.

"What's the situation?" asked Captain America.

"We're holding our own, but Kang's forces recently blocked our entry into the temple. Ghira and Selene are up ahead. They can tell you more." Kali replied.

"Lead the way." said Steve with a serious expression that wants him to help win this battle immediately.

With a grim nod, Kali leads the heroes towards the gardens where most of the war is taking place. It's Faunus, Inhumans, and Apocalypse's mutant soliders of Infinites unleashing their best combined strengths on the Chronos Corps. Each side put up a great fight, with each side losing soliders by every chaotic minute. The Unified Army has been performing this well thanks to the powerful leadership of their two commanders: Ghira Belladonna, Panther Chieftain of New Menagerie, and Selene Gallio, Mutant Black Priestess of the Hellfire Club. The Chieftain's raw strength combined with the Priestess's terrifying magic proves quite formidable to some elite Kang Soldiers, and their powers will only become greater now they notice the Avengers' arrival.

"Ghira, the Avengers are here!" Kali informs her husband.

"It's about time. I received word that Kang has stolen the Aether and is trying to escape. My forces inside the temple are preventing him from doing so, but in turn, his army created a barrier preventing us from providing reinforcements! We've tried everything but nothing could break through!" Ghira informs the heroes, pointing them to the entrance of the temple that has been blocked by Kang's technology.

"Then we need to hurry and dispel the barrier. Can your magic do the trick, Wanda?" asked Steve.

"It'll take some time. Magik, Oscar, I'll need your help with the spell." Wanda turned to her fellow sorcerers, before shooting a mean glare at Selene, "And unfortunately, I'll need yours as well, Selene."

"I don't like this alliance any more than you do, but Apocalypse ordered me to play nice." Selene scowled at the scarlet sorceress.

"You better if you don't want to turn an old lady again." quipped Sonic, referring to how he defeated Selene in their last encounter.

Instantly annoyed by that remark, Selene suddenly grabs and lifts him by his face, with her own face wrinkling slightly with a furious glare, "And YOU better keep that mouth shut if you don't want me to suck the life out of you!" She scares the hedgehog with her life-draining powers.

BGM-DC Universe Online OST-Themyscira | Combat Theme

"Put him down, Selene! We'll need him and the others to defend you while you break the barrier!" Ghira ordered strictly. Reluctantly, Selene drops Sonic with a scoff as she turns away from him cross-armed. The Chieftain turns to Steve telling him, "Captain. My soldiers are your soldiers."

"Thank you, Chieftain. Sonic, clear us a path! We're moving out!" Steve orders while leading his forces to battle.

One devastating Boost from the Blue Blur blows away an entire path of Chronos Corpsmen for the heroes to traverse with little difficulty. The second they reached the temple's entrance, it was time for the sorcerers to get to work. Scarlet Witch forms a magic circle beneath herself and her fellow mages that'll help them unify their magic, unleashing a combined energy beam that slowly eats away the energy field.

"Do not let them breach the barrier! Magic Unit, engage them at once!" A Kang Soldier ordered his unit consisting of a variety of magical monsters ranging from Grimm and Djinn, to Dark Elves and Iblis Monsters.

"Spread out! Don't let them touch the mages!" Captain America ordered his army as he sets out to show an example to their enemies. With legendary force, he has his thrown shield slash through Ma Djinn before it bounces off the head of an Iblis Golem that he swiftly catches, right before dodging its punch then bouncing off its body to avoid the claw swing of a nearby Alpha Beowolf, landing on its back in order to crack its neck with a brutal shield slam. Just as the Beowolf collapses, the Golem attempts another attack on the Captain, only for its leg to tumble by the vicious claws of Ghira, allowing Steve the killing blow to the head.

"Sonic Lightning Wave!" shouted the Blue Hedgehog, attacking with an electric shockwave created by his high-speed spin that blows Dark Elves high out of the garden.

Still, the magical forces are relentless, the Iblis Monsters especially as several appear in their enhanced, purple forms made of thicker magma material. Infinites were cut clean by Iblis Stalkers and their mouth lasers, only pinned down by Spidey's webbing for a brief while, with some managing to break free before the Unified Army takes revenge on them. Ruby takes a sniper position atop the temple, killing off rampaging monsters with single shots until she was surprised and forced to flee from a roaring Iblis Gazer erupting behind her.

"These Iblis Creatures appear to have evolved!" noted Lady Thor as she struggles against the enhanced Iblis Titan.

Suddenly Narukami lends her a hand with a stunning swift strike, allowing the Goddess to grab the monster and smash them with her hammer before killing it with a powerful thunderbolt from the heavens. "Must be a sign of Solaris' resurrection growing near. I still have confidence our combined power can handle them." Narukami said confidently.

Thor smiles, "Aye. Of that I have no doubt." She said that right as an army comes rushing to confront them. Upon summoning his Persona, Narukami combines their electricity with Thor's to unleash a supercharged lightning blast that utterly decimates the army, with neither hero breaking a sweat.

Right after punching away swarms of monsters, Knuckles turns to the sorcerers that are still trying to destroy the barrier, "Not to rush you, but are you done yet?!"

"Almost…" Wanda responded.

And with one final push, the sorcerers were successful in breaking down the barrier that's been blocking entry into the temple. "The energy field has been destroyed!" Oscar announced to his comrades.

"ONWARD, EVERYONE, TO VICTORY! We must not allow Kang to get away with the power to dominate our futures!" Ghira rallied his Menagerie Army to march forward into the now-unguarded Temple of Time.

The hallways inside are wide and distorted, possibly due to Kang's growing control of the Aether. Nonetheless, the heroes charge through the corruption, with Magik and Scarlet Witch fly ahead to engage their main force with their mighty magic. The Limbo Queen sunders the dimension with her power, inflicting pain as it flows through enemies and brands their souls for Limbo. The Chaos Sorcereress however wants to be a little mischievous, casting a spell on her enemies that cause them to mistake friend from foe and battle each other, making it far easier for the heroes to conserve their strength for the real fight ahead.

Soon after, the heroes made it deep below the temple to find themselves in a large underground chamber decorated with clocks and flames. And spotted at the other end of the cavern is a floating gate that awfully resembles the ones used in the Time Eater's dimension.

"What is this place?" asked Narukami.

"The atmosphere…It's like we've walked into one of the Vaults that housed a Relic." Oscar noted, before taking notice of the open Gate ahead, "And that Gate most likely leads into the dimension housing the Aether."

"That resembles the ones I used to travel into the past, during my business with Time Eater. Guess there is a relation between Solaris and Remnant." Sonic noted grimly.

Then out of nowhere, right before their eyes, a young woman flies out of the portal, and not by her own will as she was attacked from the other side. She crashes near the heroes in wounds to reveal herself as the unconscious Ilia Amitola, former White Fang member and Blake's chameleon best friend. "Ilia!? Are you alright?" asked a surprised Ghira, as the Belladonnas hurry to her aid. Luckily, whoever attacked her didn't kill her as she slightly breathes, much to everyone's relief, "Oh good, she's only unconscious. Take her outside to heal! My daughter would be very unhappy with me if anything happens to her!"

The medical squad take Ilia outside so she may heal, leaving the heroes to ponder about her assailant. "Poor girl. Who could be so cruel to do that?" Kali worriedly wondered.

"She should consider me merciful that she still draws breath!"

BGM-Marvel vs. Capcom 3: Fate of Two Worlds OST-Theme of Doctor Doom

That arrogant voice behind armor was instantly recognizable by the Avengers as they face its origin. Walking out of the portal is Ilia's assailant, Doctor Doom 2099 in all his futuristic glory, taking this time to continue taunting his enemies, "Having a child lead your forces against me? Pah! And you call yourself Chieftain!"

Ghira angrily growls, "Doom…I'll have your head for assaulting this brotherhood!"

"Your brotherhood is laughable! Allow me to demonstrate without lifting a finger!" And Doom does just that, staying in a cold cross-armed pose while an energy barrage erupts from the portal behind him. The blasts aimed at the Belladonnas were blocked by Captain America, earning Doom's ire as he boasts, "You dare confront your superior? To face Doom is to face one's end!" while an army of Doombots jump out of the portal before their master erupts with fearsome Sol Power.

It's quickly war between the Doombots and the Avengers Alliance, with Doom using this opportunity to dispatch the heroes that are distracted and pose somewhat of a threat to him. First was Thor, then Sonic. But before he could strike Scarlet Witch, he quickly came under assault by Captain America. The Future Tyrant goes for a slamming energy punch that Cap was only able to avoid by using his Advanced Tech to temporary bend time so it never arrives. It wasn't enough to help him land a blow when Doom warped away from his shield throw, and even the backup of Classic Knuckles didn't improve his chances as he quickly blocked an energy blast targeted on the echidna. It was only thanks to a sudden combined attack from both Magik and Narukami did Doom falter for a second.

"What's the deal, Doom? Doubt you changed that much in the future to allow yourself to be a pawn." Cap mocks the dictator.

"Kang and I are simply treating each other as equals for the time being. When this war is over, mankind across all time shall grovel helplessly at my feet. Doctor Doom will be the master of Mobiant Earth!" declared Doom, secretly planning to betray Kang when the moment arrives. With a thrusting gesture, the tyrant infuses the ground beneath his four opponents with enough dark magic to weaken them as he summons Doombots to surround and blast them to hell, but Magik won't allow that as she brings forth a dome of bone from Limbo to protect themselves from their assault. Her protection is strong, but the moment it was struck by a supercharged shot from Doom's gun, it shattered into pathetic pieces that doesn't reveal the bodies of his foes, but does make it obvious that they teleported away before the impact.

And Doom assumed right, allowing himself to be slammed to the ground by a falling punch from Knuckles from above so he could blast him out of his sights. Narukami and his Izanagi try striking him with their, "Cross Slash!" technique, only to learn the hard way that one cannot penetrate Doom's barrier with a worthless combination attack. Cap throws his shield at the barrier, but Doom won't allow anything else to touch his barrier so he eye-beams the shield away before ruthlessly throwing both Yu and his Persona at the super-solider.

Suddenly, and out of his control, his barrier dispels as Doom collapses to a knee, panting as if he's worn out despite having not used much strength in this fight. "My lifeforce is being sapped away…Selene! Is this your treachery?" He angrily exclaimed.

His answers suddenly warps to his face in the form of Magik quipping, "Close enough." She secretly casted an incantation that sears a mystical brand into Doom's soul, weakening him as she siphons his energy. With a single slash from Soulsword, the Darkchild knocks him into the air before firing a powerful blast of demonic magic that would've done some damage, if Doom didn't warp time to help him dodge and counterattack.

"HYPER CHARGING STAR!" Still, Doom was left weakened from the soul drain as it allowed Cap to charge at him full speed with his shield, brutally ramming into his masked face as he sends both Doom and himself through the dimensional portal.

"CAP!" shouted Sonic upon recovering, and all the Doombots just about destroyed by his allies.

The Quickster wastes no time running after his friend into the portal long before the likes of Spidey, Magik, Thor, Selene, Ghira, and a few of their soldiers join the pursuit. Everyone else were going to follow, until they heard the ground cracking. "Wuh oh." Ruby realized to her shock that the battle was far too intense for the floor to withstand, and just like that, it collapses into a black void that swallows up the remaining heroes, and Kali, that were left behind as they scream to their own unknown doom.

Temporal Limbo Zone

Both Captain America and Doom 2099 crash into this weird white limbo that extends into infinity that lacks any form of time except for countless moving gears and distorted clocks blending with the sky. Sonic's group quickly joins them, stopping on the checkered white floor that reminds the hedgehog of the soil of Green Hill Zone. Sonic glances at his surroundings for a bit as this place is giving him an odd sense of deja-vu. "This is…" He thinks to himself how this lifeless dimension resembles a lot of the White Space that he was once trapped in by the Time Eater some time ago.

"This must be the dimension that imprisons the Aether." Selene commented.

Right away, Ghira noticed that his wife hasn't caught up to them yet and gets worried, "Kali? KALI?! Are you with us?!"

"Calm down, old man. Sure she's just running late. Ruby can take care of her." Sonic assured him with the confidence that his wife is fine. He then takes a serious battle stance against the weakened Doctor Doom in front of him, "We still have to focus on our own Doom right now."

With just an annoyed grunt, Doom teleports away as he doesn't have the strength to continue fighting the heroes. "Doom!" Cap shouted at him to return, but it was in vain.

"AAAAAAAAAAAAGH…!" But Doom has become the least of their concerns now, as the heroes just heard the dying screams of one of their soliders from the distance in this void.

"Someone's in trouble!" Miles heard.

"Must be one of our soldiers. Quickly, we must break through the rest of Kang's defenses. There's still time to stop him from escaping this dimension with the Aether!" ordered Cap, rushing ahead while leading his army through this timeless realm.

BGM-DC Universe Online OST-Themyscira and the Avatar of Magic

Elsewhere in this void is the source of the commotion that is quickly dying by a mysterious red menace. Faunus. Inhuman. Infinite. It didn't matter what these soldiers are or their abilities. One by one they fell to the scarlet might of a large humanoid robot wearing a caped headdress in red armor, sporting the blue face of Kang while wielding an energy halberd. This new master of magic is based off Kang's old identity as the Scarlet Centurion, reborn as the Avatar of Magic that is in control of the magical Aether.

"You primitives put up a resistance, but I have stayed in this dimension long enough. It is time to take my leave." The voice of Kang speaks through his avatar, preparing to leave the mess of corpses in this void forever.

"Not so fast, Kang!" Suddenly the Avatar's escape was blocked by the arrival of Captain America and his forces.

"Captain America. Sonic the Hedgehog. And Ghira Belladonna. To think your forces have gotten past my barrier. Clearly Doom's arrogance failed to clear me an escape route." Kang complimented his foes while mocking his subordinate.

"You're not going anywhere! You must PAY for the lives you've just mercilessly killed!" Ghira furiously retorted.

Kang simply mocks him with a laughing, "You think you'll fare any better? At last, I have obtained limitless power. The very essence of magic follows through my avatar. The ultimate adaptor will merge with the Aether! Nothing can stand against me." Radiating from the body of the Magic Avatar is the dark red fluid that is the Aether, with streams of its dark power encircling the robot before it uses its terrifying might to unleash a powerful burst of energy that nearly blows away the heroes while seamlessly changing the sky into a demonic thunderstorm, to add a sense of dread as Kang prepares to battle the Avengers for possession of the Aether.

Back in the Temple of Time…

"WAAAAAAAAAAH!" Those screams belong to the members of Ruby's group as they fall to the ruined bottom of the Temple chasm. Everyone but Kali lands on their feet, with the faunus accidently landing atop of Classic Knuckles and crushing him with her bottom.

"I-I'm so sorry!" The sheepish Kali quickly apologizes to the injured echidna.

"Will you please get off of me…?" snarled Knuckles.

"Seems like everyone is okay." said Ruby while watching Kali get off the echidna. She looks up at the darkness that they fell through from the Gate Room to comment, "We fell quite far. We need to hurry and reunite with the others."

"No. Not yet." Narukami opposed.

"Why?" asked Ruby, curious on why he's rejecting her idea.

"I'm saying we should take our time for a bit. I'm confident the others can hold off Kang, but…" Narukami stares at some ancient ruins ahead, "I want to investigate these ruins first. Call it my intuition, but I'm sensing a great secret down this path." He then turns to, "Oscar. You mentioned earlier that you want to learn the truth about Remnant. This temple is connected to Solaris. The answers must be ahead."

"It won't hurt to check if these ruins have an exit." quipped Oscar, who agrees with his idea to investigate the ruins first.

BGM-Sonic Riders: Zero Gravity OST-The Divine Wings

It wasn't long until the group walked into a mysterious chamber that doesn't have much besides an ancient painting on a wall and an epitaph, with the painting including the Gods of Remnant in their dragon forms, and above them is a larger fiery eagle symbol. "Hey, what's up with this painting?" asked Ruby upon noticing it.

"The Gods of my world…And the symbol of its Devil…" Oscar referred to the Brother Gods and Solaris respectively, before turning to Knuckles for assistance, "Knuckles, see if you can read this inscription."

Knuckles nods before turning to the epitaph in front of him. With his knowledge of ancient language, it's a little surprising he can read text from a foreign reality yet he's able to do it flawlessly, "…The Eternal Sun. When this realm was still primal, he appeared as the form of the Infinite Void after his flames were extinguished by Warriors wielding Golden Chaos. It was here he found his two sons, one of dark and one of light, battling for supremacy and affection. Their war stopped upon noticing their father's weakened state and volunteered to help him recover. The Void suggested they create a new world, one with creatures capable of choosing between light and darkness, all possessing supernatural power, with gifts of knowledge, creation, destruction and choice that he wished to study. That is how we children of Remnant were born. How our beginnings lead to tragic ends, according to a child of Chronoa…"

"Chronoa?!" A curious Ruby interrupted the story with a quick comment.

"What connections did they have with Remnant?" Scarlet Witch turned to Oscar with her interesting question.

Oscar replies, "They're all just one big interdimensional family. Solaris created the Chronoans, and before that must've created the Brother Gods. At that point in history, he was already reborn as Time Eater after being defeated by the Three Hedgehogs. Makes sense he wants a place to heal, but we know there's more to this story that's been kept secret from Remnant, hence why this secret was inscripted here. Knuckles, please continue."

Knuckles nods, "Sure." before turning back to continue reading off the epitaph, "Once born to be a weapon against time, the visitor of Chronoa came to this world while on a journey to guard time, and left us with truths and warnings that we were careful not to share regarding our fate. How the world will fall once before the hands of the Dark God, thanks to the Infinite Void choosing a lonely Girl in a Tower as his avatar of destruction because she reminded him of a Princess that once hosted the Eternal Sun."

"That Girl must've been Salem. But the Princess…Elise?" Ruby commented on this shocking claim.

As Knuckles continues talking, so does the story, "When the world is reborn, so is humanity, alongside the birth of a new species, cross between man and animal, born from the fiery rage the Void possessed for a similar race from a similar world."

"Faunus were born from Solaris' hate for Mobians?" commented the shocked Kali.

"That explains the racism." Wanda deduced it was Solaris that fated Faunus to be discriminated for centuries, as some form of revenge against the Hedgehogs that beat him.

"There's more…" Knuckles told them before continuing his read, "With this rebirth, the cycle towards destruction begins through the manipulations of the Void. The Girl and a Warrior, once lovers now enemies to lead this cycle. If the Girl gathers the four Keys, the Gods will be summoned through the door to destroy this world. But if the Warrior gathers the Keys, the Void will be summoned instead as the Devil to consume us into his abyss. No one knows how long this cycle will be repeated, but it will come to an end by the arrival of two legends from two distant worlds: The Blue Hedgehog and his Fighters for Freedom, and the Red Spider alongside warriors that Avenge the wrongs caused by the wicked. They are our saviors, for they possess a power to change fate. The power to unite and believe in oneself."

"I think I understand now!" Narukami said, after the inscription was finished being read, "Solaris' experiment was nothing more than endless torture for Remnant, repeated across countless timelines to regain his power…"

"Until that power was broken when the Avengers and Freedom Fighters showed up during our fight with Green Goblin!" Ruby continued off from the investigator.

"They were never part of Solaris' plans. The Avengers especially since they never had any prior encounters, hence why he went to use Doctors Eggman and Octopus to get revenge, but he was defeated once more." deduced by Oscar next.

"Which led to him using the Chronoans as another form of revenge, but their worship of us changed their destiny. First he attacked Mobius as the Eternal Sun God, then tortured Remnant and Earth as the Infinite Void Devil. Hatred, obsession, jealousy, greed…He continues to allow this darkness to corrupt him, all to regain what he's not allowed to control." Wanda assumed through a scowl of anger for the Sun God.

Kali frowns, "I can't believe this…All the wars and discrimination, caused by his fears…Was this really our history?"

Suddenly, Classic Knuckles furiously punches the air ahead of him, "A history we cannot allow to be repeated!" He eagerly smashes his fists together to exclaim to his allies, "COME ON! Let's go reunite with the others!" He announced, much to the mutual agreement with his friends.

Meanwhile in Temporal Limbo Zone…

BGM-Mega Man Zero/ZX Legacy Collection OST-Crash

"Summon: Caliburn!"

Using his Cosmic Gloves, Modern Sonic summons to his hand his trusty sacred sword in amidst this magical destructive battle against the Avatar of Magic. Sword and halberd clash with high speeds that are relatively the same, with Sonic having a slight advantage until the Avatar enhances itself with more of the Aether's power to completely dominate the hedgehog with a single destructive strike.

Before the Magic Avatar could press its advantage, it was hit in the head by the vibranium shield thrown by Captain America. While its stunned, Magik disarms it of its weapon swiftly before Ultimate Spider-Man ties him with webbing strong enough to hold him for Lady Thor to suddenly smash it away. "I wonder how well a machine like thou will stand up to my lightning!" exclaimed Jane while charging her lightning, then unleashes it with full force at the binded android.

Too bad for her, Thor's lightning is blocked upon the Avatar manipulating the Aether to conjure a shield, giving it enough time to free itself from the webs then counter with two mirror images that slows down the heroes with ice magic, long enough for Kang to conjure another halberd and take down his foes with an explosive slam from the real deal.

"It should be impossible for a robot with no soul to harness the Aether!" claimed Selene from nearby, keeping Kang at bay with a magical energy barrage.

Suddenly, the Avatar warps behind the mutant mistress, surprising her as Kang retorts, "The Aether was fluid and everchanging. I simply modified it to fit my design." before blasting her across this timeless void.

"Men! Provide cover fire to give the Avengers a shot to deal with that thing!" Ghira ordered his army to help with their conventional weaponry. All of them take their shots, unleashing a unified barrage of bullets, missiles, and Inhuman powers that pathetically fail to even weaken Kang's barrier.

"Stay out of my business." Kang responded with a such a dry tone as he doesn't consider them a threat, just dummies to test out his new magic. With a wave of its hand, the Avatar of Magic manipulates reality to summon a Grimm horde empowered by its dark magic to go on a slaughter spree. Several soldiers quickly die while the others hold onto their dear lives, with Ghira going in helping his comrades with berserkish assaults until he was stabbed deeply in the back by an Arma Gigas that just leaves him stun for a moment, long enough for the Gigas to prepare the finishing blow, and would've done it if it wasn't shot dead by the power of a Laser Wispon.

"GET AWAY FROM MY HUSBAND!"

His surprise rescuer is a furious Kali wielding the Wispon, with the rest of her group arriving in this dimension just in time to save their army from the Grimm. Ghira shrugs off his wounds through the sheer relief from seeing his wife safe and sound and goes to embrace her, "You're safe. Thank goodness."

"What took you all so long?" asked Steve with a relieved smile.

Oscar grins, "Had to catch up on our history."

"Couldn't study for a test AFTER we save the world?" Miles quipped.

"That test may tie to the fate of the world itself." Oscar replied with crypticness that confuses the young wallcrawler, "I'll explain everything later. How's the battle?"

"We're holding out. That Aether is proving to be a challenge to counter. Despite that, my sorcereress told me he doesn't have COMPLETE mastery over its magic yet." Steve informs the late arrivals.

"Kang is more of a scientist than a sorcerer." Oscar noted, "We can use that to our advantage. Find an opening, then use our magic to extract the Aether from him. The second it is, we'll destroy it with one powerful attack." The Mystical Farmhand devised the plan to defeat the Avatar of Magic.

BGM-One Piece: Pirate Warriors 4 OST-I Will Surpass You!

"Leave that to me and Narukami!" announced Ruby, stepping forward with a serious face that expresses she has a plan to gain that opening, "Knuckles, Thor, go for a frontal assault!"

Side by side, the Emerald Guardian and the Thunder Goddess rush forward with furious battle cries that were quick to gain the Magic Avatar's attention. The second they threw a powerful combined attack, the robot flew to the air to avoid it, but that is what Ruby wanted him to do. With her high-speed Semblance enhanced by the recoil of her gun-scythe, the Scarlet Huntress explodes into a flowery blur of motion that relentlessly slashes through the android to give Narukami the opportunity to land on its back for another electrifying attack.

Narukami plunges his sword deep into the Avatar, unleashing a wave of electricity that stuns it until he shouts, "Persona!" that summons Izanagi before roaring out, "MYRIAD TRUTHS!" that evolves it into its ultimate form, Izanagi-no-Okami, so it may summon down a huge thunderbolt that violently electrocutes the robot.

"Take this, Kang!" Oscar combines his energy barrage with Cap's shield throws to create a combo attack strong enough that finally causes the Avatar to crash back to the ground.

"Why you…" snarled Kang, before finding his arms being pulled by the combined power of Spider-Man's webbing and Selene's telekinesis.

With a furious grunt, Kang unleashes the Aether's might in the form of a devastating red tornado that blows away all opposition, except, "SONIC WIND!" the incredible blue winds of Sonic that cuts through his power. From a soul surging fast and strong, the Knight of the Wind relentlessly slashes the robot's chest with strikes sharp enough to leave cracks.

"Now, Magik!" shouted Caliburn, as Sonic bounces off in time for a leaping Magik to impale her sacred blade into the cracks, causing them to bust open and pour out Aether energy.

This is the moment Scarlet Witch was waiting for. Using her reality-warping magic, she properly extracts all of that reality-warping liquid out of the Magic Avatar, leaving it suspended in midair so it may be properly disposed of by the godly power of Lady Thor from above. She whirls her hammer high and mighty enough to replace the dark storm with her own thunderous lightning, all which is absorbed into Mjolnir. "Thou are not worthy of the Aether! BEGONE!" And alongside the full force of her thunderous roar, a godly beam of energy strikes both the Aether and the Avatar of Magic like lightning that shakes the timeless dimension.

"NOOOOO…The infusion of magic into my technology was to be the catalyst of the final stage…." Kang screamed furiously while his machine repeatedly burst explosions alongside the Aether, both unleashing shockwaves that signifies their destruction.

BGM-Marvel Future Revolution OST-Victory is Ours

"SWEET! There's no magic in ANY world that can stop us!" shouted the smiling Sonic, performing a little victory dance as the Avengers Alliance celebrate their win over Kang in their magical battle.

"Nicely done, everyone!" smiled Ghira, "If I'm not mistaken, this was the last Nexus of Knowledge Kang wanted to complete his Solaris Project."

"And we prevented him from stealing all three. This war should wrap up soon." Cap believed.

Ghira nods, before sharing a firm handshake with his super-soldier friend, "Let's hope so, Captain. Know New Menagerie will continue fighting by your side to the end."

"That's an honor. Thank you. Now let's get our people out of here." smiled Steve, with the simple suggestion that the Chieftain happily agrees with.

BGM-Sonic Heroes OST-Disquieting Shadow

The Avengers then left Temporal Limbo, leaving behind the countless pieces of the Aether scattered everywhere as they believe it is forever destroyed. But, not long after they left, those red pieces ominously began to rise from the ground by their own will, returning to its previous liquified form that is swiftly collected by its new owner. Or one could say, their original owner. The Brother God of Darkness has shown up, and after so many centuries, have regain possession of his precious weapon of infinite devastation.

"What fools." Suddenly appearing beside the God is Doctor Doom 2099 with an insulting comment behind the heroes' back, "They truly believed they destroyed your precious weapon, when in reality it is indestructible and can never be destroyed."

"Darkness itself can never be destroyed, only tamed. Just like humans when they misbehave, though destroying them is another way to tame." The Dark God mocks humanity beside the self-proclaimed ruler of them, which obviously irritates him.

"You should watch your mouth. After all, you and your brother are working with several humans to resurrect your father." Doom retorts with his own words of mockery to the god.

"And I'm despising every second of it." snarked the annoyed God.

"Deal with it. Come. We must make preparations to end this war." Doom turns away from the deity before teleporting back to base, with the Dark God following suit with a huff of annoyance and eagerness to revive his father so he may bring judgement to the universe.

KFX Here: Happy Thanksgiving! Thanks for putting up with me and this series for 4 years. Means a lot. Know I made mistakes and know I'm not perfect, but I always and will continue to entertain as many people as I can with these stories. Anyways, it's time to build up to endgame. Be prepared, 'cause the next 2-3 chapters will feature events that WILL push the heroes to their limits, and how the remainder of this war will play out.
