Because of the Avengers' efforts, two out of the three Nexus of Knowledge were prevented from falling into enemy hands. The only one that fell into Kang's hands was The Aether as it is a dark magic that cannot be destroyed. For safekeeping and for study, it is placed within a special containment field alongside the four Chaos Emeralds the villains have acquired. With this Nexus of Magic added to their collection, their Solaris System grows stronger and inches closer to the full resurrection of Solaris.

"After all of this, I was only able to acquire full access to the Aether and salvaged data of both the Stark Network and Hyper-go-on Energy. Disappointing." Kang expresses his cold disappointment to those that have been called to attend this meeting composing of Eggman Nega, Doctor Doom 2099, Mephiles the Dark, and the Brother Gods of Remnant. His disappointment isn't directed to Ravonna Renslayer who is among them, obviously because he has a soft spot for his lover, "At the same time I'm not too surprised. The champions of the 21st Century have always been my greatest challenge, and thus have earned my lasting respect. But much as I have enjoyed striving against them in times past, our game must end within this war."

"These setbacks will delay completion of the Solaris Project, but I'm hard at work coming up with alternatives." said Eggman Nega.

"Do so. And if those fail, I have a backup plan of my own." Kang proclaimed.

"And what would that be?" questioned Mephiles, wanting to know more of his backup plan.

"It's still a work-in-progress that comes with many risks that I don't have time to explain." Kang answered calmly, which Mephiles seems to believe.

The Dark God takes this moment to mock him, "Ha! And you boast yourself as the 'Master of Time', constantly ignoring that Lord Solaris is its TRUE master!"

"If that's the case, he would've avoided multiple deaths in multiple timelines." Kang snarks back at the deity that might be able to kill him with ease.

Feeling insulted, the Dark God furiously retorts, "Why you little-!"

"Enough!" Mephiles shouted with calm anger towards his insolent son, "You should show Kang more respect, and not mistake him for another mere mortal. Or do you not want to see me whole?"

"A-Apologizes…" Dark God nervously replied, fearing his father's wrath.

Kang formally bows to the demonic hedgehog, "Thank you for the compliment, Lord Mephiles. I am sorry it'll be a little longer before we can complete your resurrection."

"I'm not in a hurry. The Avengers are still a grave threat. Until they are destroyed, I recommend we put a halt to the Project." Mephiles replied.

"On that topic…" Nega speaks up, "Should we pour in a little more effort in their destruction and conquest of this Timespace Rift? We still need their two Chaos Emeralds and still on the hunt for the last one. With the data we've acquired, I can rebuild the Avatars stronger than ever to conquer Washington D.C.!"

"You can rebuild them if you want, but D.C. is off-limits for now. Everything else proceeds as usual." Kang ordered.

"But why?" asked by the confused Nega.

Crossing his arms behind his calm back, the Chrono Conqueror paces towards the exit of the chamber while replying, "The Avengers think I am at a disadvantage, believing I have failed in obtaining the three Nexus of Knowledge required to stabilize Solaris. In the meantime, my grasp over Chrono World grows stronger and stronger by the hour. Sooner or later, they will come for me to end this battle. And when they do…" He turns to his allies with a sinister smirk, "I'll be sure to welcome them."

BGM-Marvel Ultimate Alliance 3 OST-Earth's Mightiest Tower

"Thank you for coming on such short notice, Avengers."

Deep within his mountain base, Commander Abraham Tower shakes hands with Steve Rogers shortly after he arrived alongside his team consisting of Thor Odinson, Boom Amy, Summer Rose, Cia and Team Dark for an urgent meeting that couldn't have been discussed over a video call.

"It's our pleasure, Commander Tower. Most battles around the world have calmed for the moment, and some of our active teams on R&R for a few hours anyway, after what we've recently been through, so it was no trouble." replied Captain America.

After shaking hands with the good captain, Tower goes over to politely greet the White Sorceress. "And you must be Cia. Heard you've been doing a good job protecting our history." He thanks her for her hard work with a handshake.

Cia somberly frowns, "Wish I've done a better job preventing this war. I assume that's why we've been called over here. Why don't we get down to business?"

"Of course." Tower leads the heroes to a meeting room where they can properly discuss about this war.

Most of the heroes take a seat, with the GUN Commander standing beside a holographic viewscreen displaying the current status of this chrono war, "What we asked you here to discuss, naturally, was Kang. That madman's declared war on every civilized nation on Mobiant Earth. And after trapping and splintering the planet in this dimensional prison, that attack on the U.N. Building and Solkaria among the other horrors his Chronos Corps unleashed, it looks as if he's got the power to make it stick. Needless to say, the President has been deeply concerned – deeply concerned about the entire situation. As is NATO, the U.N., the World Security Council, and more. We've been doing our best to anticipate his movements, but there's been so much upheaval after his global announcements: Uprisings, riots, refugees fleeing cities, supervillains and others trying to seize territory in Kang's name, it's occupied too many men, too much materiel, giving us little time to counterattack against the MAIN threat."

"Which is just how Kang wants it, of course." Rouge scowls alongside her comment.

"He's thrown us into Chrono World against enemies old and new, causing chaos to prevent REAL preparation. He wants an early victory, not just to establish a beachhead, and not just a site to revive Solaris, but to demoralize the world. To make it seem like he can tell us EXACTLY what he's going to do, and we're STILL helpless against him." sternly said by Captain Rogers.

"Exactly." Tower responded, "So it's crucial that we deny him that victory. We have to hold him back, have to bloody his nose, show the world that Earth CAN resist. Millions of lives across histories depend on us! Frankly, we HAD hoped the Avengers could have taken the fight to Kang, ENDED his threat by now, but…"

"But WE'VE been distracted by his machinations as well. Y'know, destroying his Avatars that wanted Nexus of Knowledge for his science project." quipped Boom Amy, interrupting the Commander.

"Yes, quite so." Tower responded dryly.

Summer chimes in, "Well, it's not over yet, Commander Tower. We'd be making plans to assault Kang's flagship right now if we hadn't been called here."

"I didn't mean to impugn your dedication, Miss Rose. I just meant…" Tower sighs as if he's been hiding something that he now wants to reveal to the heroes, "Well, we've had to make backup plans. This is too important not to throw everything we've got at it. And accordingly…"

BGM-Mega Man X8 OST- Demo – Perplexity

With the simple push of a button, the Commander has the screen switch to a display of a secret laboratory housing scientists in the middle of constructing a massive army of what appears to be the mutant-hunting robots themselves: Sentinels. "…We thought you should be aware of the next step." The Commander finished what he started to say.

Naturally, the heroes are surprised to see GUN have been secretly building an army of Sentinels. Even top-tier GUN agents like Team Dark are shocked to be just learning about this. "By Odin's beard…" Thor muttered out his shock.

"SENTINELS?!" exclaimed an angry Captain America.

"You're not SERIOUS, Commander?" Cia sternly asked.

"We're not a jokey bunch around here, ma'am. We're under DIRECT ORDERS by the World Security Council, and since the Superhuman Registration Act is still LEGALLY in play, you all must comply to their authority!" Tower retorted, calmly the heroes just slightly before informing them of their plan, "We think the Sentinels may be able to pierce the forcefield around Kang's base. We have over 200 under construction. We've boosted their plasma beam output, increased their speed, each of them powered by the latest ISO fusion engine-."

"Commander, with all due respect, this is a BAD idea." Cap interrupted with a calm yet furious tone, "The first time the Sentinels were activated, they turned on their creator. The second time, they did it again. More recently, Ultron HACKED an army."

"And in SEVERAL timelines, they conquered the whole world and murdered everyone they deemed a threat, not just mutants." Cia fiercely added into their argument, "I've been fighting Kang my entire life, and this is too risky! The Sentinels are just a BAD IDEA!"

Tower calmly retorts, "I'm not unsympathetic, Miss. We UNDERSTAND there's a risk, but we feel it's a risk we've got to take. There is a window of opportunity, however. The first flight of Sentinels won't be ready for 10 hours. If the Avengers can deal with Kang before that…"

"10 hours? If that's all you can give us, Commander, we'll take it. And I assure you, sir, we WILL find a way to take Kang down." Steve's word were said casually, quietly, but still, they have the ring of a solemn oath.

Mobotropolis, Royal Hills Zone.

"HUH? 10 hours? Is that really true, Mr. Wolverine?" asked an adorable young sorceress by the name of Celica A. Mercury, Resurrected Chrono Phantasma and a friend of Ragna the Bloodedge, hanging out with him and Wolverine alongside Cable, Blake, Young Salem, and Princess Sally Acorn of the Freedom Fighters.

BGM-BlazBlue Calamity Trigger OST-Hollow

This team of heroes have been stationed at Mobotropolis, the capital of the Kingdom of Acorn, after they gained intel it will soon be invaded by the Chronos Corps. While they waited, Wolverine was contacted about the government's plans to stop Kang and just informed his teammates about the meeting. "Heard from Cap himself. We've been put on a deadline. If we don't stop Kang in less than 10 hours, the government will send their Sentinels to do the job. And I really doubt a bunch of mutant-killers can stop a time lord." The X-Man told his allies.

Ragna scowls, "Is your government stupid? What makes them think their robots can stop Kang? I don't have much history fighting that bastard, but I have learned we won't beat him by bumrushing!"

"They're desperate and angsty. Despite Red Skull tricking them, they're still using their Registration Act to boss us around, otherwise we'd be dealing with them alongside Kang, and we SERIOUSLY have no time for their crap!" Wolverine retorted.

"At the same time, it's understandable why they're angsty." Sally argued, "They've been played for fools by Kang through his Syndicate for a long time and now he's come to take the world by force. With every city we protect, four more are taken over. We're running out of time. But we stopped him from controlling the Nexuses, meaning at the very least his Solaris Project has been delayed. This may be our ONLY chance to stop him."

Celica confidently smiles, "I'm sure everything will turn out fine. Captain America is your world's greatest hero after all. He'll save us."

"I too have confidence in the Captain's abilities. If anyone can pull this off, it'd be him." Salem smiled, placing her faith in the First Avenger to stop Kang.

"By the way…" Wolverine turns to her, "How're you dealing with the new truths about Remnant?"

Having learned from Oscar what his team recently discovered at the Temple of Time, that once assured smile quickly shifts to an irritated scowl that got Salem crossing her arms and turning her head as she retorts, "By being very, very NOT happy to have learned my destiny was to be Solaris' slave. His darkness infected me and manipulated my relationship with Ozma, to spark a war that would lead to Remnant's destruction in many timelines. It was all just a game to him!"

"Sounds no different from how Mephiles took advantage of Sonic's friendship with Elise." said Cable.

Salem frowns, "I feel sorry for the both of them, and for Ozpin and my future self. One's dead and the other rotting in jail. They were never able to mend their relationship because of that Devil."

"I know a thing or two 'bout being a god's plaything." Ragna remarked, referencing his role as his world's Centralfiction, "But your destiny has changed for the most part."

"Maybe. As long as Solaris isn't resurrected." Salem declared.

"And what about you, Blake?" Sally turns to her Faunus friend, knowing she has learned how Faunus were truly born, "You don't REALLY believe Faunus and Mobians were born as interdimensional cousins linked by a god's rage?"

"It's about as believable as that fairy tale about an Animal God turning people into Faunus." Blake quipped, expressing her calm disbelief in that apparent truth about her species' origins, "Whether or not it's true, I don't care. Whatever the gods think of me, or how our kind was born, my friends are proud of me and I want to make the world a better place, and that's all that matter." She said, earning a proud nod from the Freedom Fighter.

Also proud of his fellow Faunus X-Man for not allowing some truth to distract her from her own wishes, Wolverine gives Blake a smiling, "Exactly. Your life is in your hands. No one else gets to decide what you are and who you want to be. Whoever tries, keep fighting 'til they're blown away." With a smiling nod, Blake accepts his advice. Even Salem is willing to take inspiration from it, promising herself to continue fighting against the fate Solaris wanted for her.

'Sally!' Suddenly, Nicole the Holo-Lynx announces her presence as she has something important to say from Sally's handheld, 'Recommend we get into formation. Sensors indicate enemy forces are minutes from inbound.'

"Right." Sally responded sternly before turning to her friends, "Let's head to the front lines, people! Celica, you go join the medical team down this way!"

Smiling, Celica gives her a saluting, "On my way!" before racing off to join the medical team in the direction she was pointed at.

"You sure that's a good idea?" asked by Ragna giving the princess a deadpan look.

"What do you mean? Her healing magic makes her-." But before Sally could finish her explanation, a simple point from Ragna directs her to being utterly flabbergasted at Celica running towards the wrong direction, "AAAH! CELICA! YOU'RE GOING THE COMPLETELY WRONG WAY!""

"I am?" Celica stopped with innocent confusion that also confuses Sally, gets Ragna facepalming, and everyone else looking mildly amused at her terrible sense of direction.

Bogotá, Colombia. Camelot Realm.

BGM-Super Dragon Ball Heroes OST-Prison Planet

In the capital of Colombia, another fierce battle between the Avengers Alliance and Chronos Corps is in progress for absolute control over the city. Both sides seem evenly matched, with the city evacuated in time for many bodies to pile up across the streets from either GUN or the Knights of the Underworld. The super-powered combatants from both factions are also present of course, each showing off a display of their raw power and incredible skill to their opponent, such as Ryu's fists clashing with Nebula's batons, Pyra trading explosive fiery attacks with Cinder, and Infamous Iron Man flying through the skies while he and King Arthur on horseback duke it out with powerful magic.

Seamlessly appearing to watch the city-wide war on a rooftop are the Gods of Remnant, right before Mephiles makes his debut in front of them. The Dark Demon scoffs at the battle below saying, "How boring. This battle could go on forever."

"Shall I make things more entertaining for you?" asked the Dark God.

"Go wild." Mephiles simply ordered.

In that instant, the Dark God transforms into his nightmarish dragon form that growls eagerly down at the Avengers Alliance, flying off to enjoy himself massacring their soldiers that gives the Chronos Corps one huge advantage that very well won them this city. "You're allowing him to play far too much." The God of Light said to his hedgehog father.

"Don't be stingy. I've given you much attention in the past, before my first encounters with those Hedgehogs." Mephiles replied, implying that Solaris favored his Light son more than Dark, possibly because both were creatures of light and are naturally fond of each other. It wasn't until Solaris became Time Eater and Mephiles is when he suddenly favored his Dark son more as they are both monsters of darkness.

"Apologizes again that we didn't come to your aid. But why did you neglect to tell us you were visiting that world?" asked Light, wondering why the brothers were never informed of Solaris' visit to Mobius until it was too late.

"It simply caught my interest, and I underestimated its inhabitants." Mephiles answered.

"Was it also because of the Chaos Emeralds?" questioned Light.

Without muttering a word, Mephiles takes out his purple Chaos Emerald and calmly glares down at its mysterious allure, "…These gems are truly an enigma. I can feel their power resisting me, denying me their full potential and secrets. Is it because my heart is not strong enough to harness their power to their fullest? To unify the Chaos? I was born as light that embraced darkness. Two elements that are not allowed to mix, and I am at peace with my resolve. Is that not true chaos? Or do these Emeralds simply respond to the chaotic masses? That seems to be the case judging from experience. All the more reason to wipe out humanity, so only I can be the sole master of chaos."

"To accomplish that, we must defeat those Hedgehogs and the Avengers, including the Scarlet Witch, a Nexus Being just like Kang." said Light.

"Why do you think I'm taking my time? Nexus Beings are unpredictable. But as I master this Emerald, I too will be unpredictable. The time nears for their destruction." Mephiles replied grimly.

"And what of the Chronoan and the Chronoblade, as well as Apocalypse?" asked a concerned question by Light.

Mephiles scoffs, "Ha! Without the Emeralds, the Chronoblade can never reach full power, and I've defeated Apocalypse in the past. That Chronoan though…" He briefly flashes back to his recent duel with Cia, the fight that he lost in the end, "She really is a prodigy among her dead race. They were meant to be my ultimate weapons against history, against Celestials that birth mortal life. All that quickly changed when they worshipped those heroes as gods among me! Good thing I took notice of Apocalypse when I did. The perfect time to correct my mistake, goading him into war against them, with Kang later with his own reasons to finish the job. Only Cia remain, with so much grief and sorrow eating away her strong will. She'll make for the perfect tool, a replacement for that failure known as Salem."

Fires caused by the city battle erupts as its destruction spreads across the city. Some of the flames erupt before Mephiles and his son, causing the former to experience a slight change in his demeanor. From palming his face alongside his usual calm, "Kehehehe…" to his body erupting with malevolent energy alongside a deranged cackling, "AHAHAHAHAHA! I can see it now! A universe filled with the history of infinite death and eternal suffering, with all secrets becoming one with me! It won't be LONG, Iblis! I can FEEL your flames wanting to burst free and RAVAGE this world to nothing! The beginning of the end NEARS! Avengers! Kang! DO give me a good show! HAHAHAHAHA!"

"Captain America, how are things going with your squad?" asked Nick Fury.

BGM-Marvel Ultimate Alliance 3 OST-Earth's Mightiest Tower

The Superspy walks into the hanger bay to find a large assembly of heroes that have been handpicked by Steve Rogers himself as part of his invasion force against Kang. Mighty heroes such as Scarlet Witch, Spider-Man 2099, Boom Sonic, Modern Tails, Classic Knuckles, Grimm Reaper, Captain Marvel, and even the evil Horseman of War, Infinite, stand confident and eager to bring the fight to the Conqueror himself.

Upon noticing Fury approaching, Steve tells him, "We're almost ready, Nick. My team's stand prepared for the assault on Kang's base. As for the ship…"

"No! Secondary grav-generations in compartment four, Ratchet! FOUR!" shouted Tony Stark, loudly trying to get Rocket Raccoon to follow his orders in modifying their Quinjet to its best abilities if they want a better chance at stopping Kang.

"It's ROCKET! Take it easy, you're only a genius on Earth, Shellhead!" Rocket shouted back at him.

"…They're working on it." Steve shamelessly smiles at the director.

"The Quinjet'll be ready, Fury." Tony told him, "But getting through Kang's forcefield…I still don't know how we're going to do that yet. Hopefully, we'll have more data soon, once Spectrum gets back from her recon mission."

"I'm sure you'll find a way, Stark." replied Fury, before he turns his one eye to the First Avenger, "Cap, I don't have to remind you how CRUCIAL this mission is. If we can't take the fight to Kang…"

"Then the government will launch the Sentinels, and we'll have THAT to deal with too. Maybe not the problem we're fearing, but I won't count on that…" Steve replied solemnly.

"If I was still Director and wasn't on the run, I would've given the Council an earful. I'll still do what I can on this end. Good luck out there." Fury responded, wishing the heroes the best.

Steve shakes hands with his old friend, confidently telling him, "We won't fail you, Nick."

"To think I was chosen to be part of this mission. I feel so lucky." said Grimm Reaper, having a friendly conversation with her teammates.

"Well everyone else IS busy on other missions…" Captain Marvel quipped.

Boom Sonic smirks, "With me leading this team, it'll be a smooth ride to victory."

"YOU leading us will have us stumble over bumps on the road to trouble." Classic Knuckles dryly snarked.

"We're heroes. We always ride into trouble." Sonic grinningly shrugged a joke that leaves the echidna annoyed.

Nearby, Summer and Spidey 2099 are in the middle of their own conversation. Though she wasn't chosen for this mission, the 2099 Huntress sticks around to wish her friend the best out there, in her own way. "Called Gabe that you're going on a suicide mission?" She jokingly asked him.

"Is that what you think this is?" quipped Miguel.

"You know I'm joking, you jerk." Summer retorted, playfully punching his arm.

Miguel chuckles, "Yeah I called. Wished me luck while he's helping out the Liberty Legion. Same with Elsa."

"So I'm the LAST woman to say goodbye." Summer grinned.

"Sum, don't be jealous." Miguel teased.

"I can and I will." Summer snarked, as she comes closer to Miguel. Despite the two had a falling out that ended their relationship, they both still share feelings for each other as they embrace with a passionate hug that lasts a bit, with Summer telling her ex sincerely, "Come back home safely, Miggy."

"Promise. This will all be over soon." Miguel replied genuinely.

Not far away from that futuristic couple, Infinite stands alongside Scarlet Witch as Mister Sinister approaches them with something in his hand. "Is that Phantom Ruby fully charged?" The Masked Jackal asked while tapping his reality gem.

"161%." Sinister answered, "I've also transmitted to you a list of powerful individuals that you are free to replicate."

"I'll be happy to test them out." Infinite replied.

"It's ALWAYS clones with you." Wanda sternly quips at the grinning mutant geneticist.

"As chaos is with you. Speaking of…" Sinister hands her the item he was holding: The white Chaos Emerald. "Use this as a conduit to amplify your Chaos Magic. With any luck in conjunction with the Phantom Ruby, it may crack his forcefield. We know it's risky sending one of our two Emeralds directly to Kang, but he's left us with little choice." He suggested to them his plan to breach Kang's barrier.

Wanda nods grimly, "I understand. This may be our only shot."

"Hey, hey!" exclaimed by Sonic while tapping his foot impatiently, "How long are we gonna stand here being bored? Let's go save the world already."

Jumping off the modified Quinjet, Rocket lands next to the hedgehog retorting, "Simmer down, Spiky! Just got done modifying the ship with the best tech and weaponry found across this Rift. Won't guarantee it'll put the best fight imaginable against Kang's, but I've built it to be VERY stubborn."

"It'll have to do." Stark said, quickly glancing around to hopefully find any signs of, "Now where's Spectrum? She should be back by-."

"I'm sorry, Tony!"

And right on cue, Spectrum flies into the tower carrying some mysterious energy enveloping her hand. "I couldn't analyze the forcefield any better than Mockingbird. It's just too far beyond anything I can visualize. I did, however, manage to absorb a bit of it. If I can successfully transfer it…"

"Great!" Quickly, Tony grabs a container for her to deposit the futuristic energy, "The Docs and I will run a full battery of tests, pronto."

"We can't wait for that, Tony! Our time's running short. Everyone aboard ship!" Steve gestures his team to immediately comply with his orders, "You'll have to send us the test results once we've reached Kang."

Alongside Spectrum, the eager Sonic and his allies march into the Quinjet for their mission. Only Captain America hasn't board the ship yet, as Tony wants to have a short conversation with him before he leaves. "You know I wish I could come along, Cap. This Project was inspired by my father's, it's only right. I've been working on new spacetime Armor for an occasion like this, but it still needs time…" He somberly told his soldier friend, telling him a bit about his new top-secret Iron Man Armor that he plans to be his ultimate weapon against the Chronos Corps.

"I know, Tony." grinned Cap, sharing a goodbye handshake with his billionaire friend, "But right now, we need Tony Stark's brains, more than Iron Man's strength."

BGM-Mega Man ZX Tune OST- Fate - Deep-Seated Grudge

Abruptly, Tony's words were cut off when a hologram of Kang appears as a surprise before the two Avengers. "What-?" Cap exclaimed.

"This is an automatic notice. My base's exterior shields have been tampered with, and phasio-telemetry traces the culprit to this location. Be WARNED, as I have stated before, that any attack on my base or my person will be seen as an attempt to circumvent the field of battle. Repercussions will be SWIFT…and thorough." With that, the hologram vanishes, as swiftly as it had appeared.

And, Minutes Later…

The Quinjet blasted off as it makes a hypersonic beeline for Damocles Base with Modern Tails behind the pilot's seat. Each hero has taken a seat, each one pondering over Kang's warning, each other silently readying themselves for what could be the ultimate fierce showdown for the future.

"Cap…" Grimm Reaper was the first to speak after they left Avengers Tower, "What he said…He's not bluffing." She grimly stated.

"I know, Grimm Reaper. But the world's counting on us. We have no choice. So we fight, and we win. There are no other options." said Cap, looking stern and ready to settle this Time War with its tyrannical mastermind.

KFX Here: Things are starting to look desperate for the Avengers Alliance. This next fight will decide how the rest of this story will play out. I'll try to squeeze what I want to tell into the next chapter. Wish me luck. Also, I'm realizing just how similar this plot is to the plots of BlazBlue. Wasn't completely intentional besides including some BlazBlue characters, partially because that series loves to deal with timeline shenanigans and thought it be appropriate here. Thought I tell everyone about that now.
