Act 3 Issue 11: Chrono Clash (Part 1) – On Board the Sword

Chronopolis, Alien Realm

Chronopolis, formally known as Washington DC. The massive dystopian city filled with futuristic technology so corruptive that it darkens the sky. Not only that, sectors of the city have been purposely distorted by time rifts to model them after iconic time periods like the Medieval times, Jurassic, Ice Age, and many more that gives this place a theme park feeling. This is Kang's ultimate city. From his impregnatable Citadel, he rules all of his realms, and from here, he has an announcement for all of Chrono World to here, whether they want to or not.

BGM-Shadow the Hedgehog OST-Eclipse Cannon

"People of Chrono World!" Kang speaks on a communication pad in his command center, "I speak to you now because your heroes have DOOMED you. The fugitives known as the Avengers are responsible for the time distortions ravaging the world for refusing to surrender their Chaos Emeralds. They will be punished. They will be allowed to surrender once more, and be executed, but not until after two cities in each timespace have been destroyed as retribution for their treachery. And then every hour that passes without their surrender, another city will fall. Denver and Westopolis of the Alien Region, make your peace with your gods. Your heroes have brought this upon you."

While Kang talked, his massive holographic self was projected to the targeted cities as he charges his energy for their destruction. Civilians flee, run screaming for their lives as they do not want to end up like Washington DC. But, even as Kang spoke, as he's nearly done charging his power of devastation, he was hit by the completely unexpected.

Out of nowhere, numerous interdimensional portals appear and surround Chronopolis from its skies down to its streets. Some of the portals unleash explosive blasts of energy that specifically target Kang's local forces, devastating them with enough force to shake Kang off his global message. "What?!" The surprised Conqueror shouted, just wondering where the heck those portals came from and how they possess so much power.

Energy beams weren't the only things emerging from the portals. As the massive smokescreen is about to settle, two recognizable heroes walk out of it. Them being Nick Fury and Boom Sonic. "Surprised? Then you're going to love this." said Fury with his poker face, sternly holding his hand gun against the terrifyingly massive enemy horde that doesn't scare him one bit.

"All right, people! IT'S PARTY TIME!" Sonic excitedly expressed.

BGM-Thor: Ragnarok OST-Immigrant Song (Remaster) (by Led Zeppelin)

The dust suddenly disperses to reveal the Avengers Alliance and their own shockingly massive army appearing from portals behind the two heroes, with everyone equally ready to cause some mayhem. The raid has begun and the stage is set for a final showdown. It's the Avengers Alliance versus the Chronos Corps in a clash of the ages. And what's even worse for the villains, Chronopolis isn't the only stronghold in Chrono World that's being invaded.

In Nueva Vale of the Future Realm…

Resistance rise, all around the world, in all shapes, sizes, and armies, as the result of Wasp's long negotiations. In the Future Region, a Hydra Airship is suddenly assaulted by the local, but massive Resistance group led by the Freedom Fighters in their Sky Patrol.

"FORWARD, FREEDOM FIGHTERS! Time we live up to our name!" Princess Sally Acorn rallied her forces with blood-pumping words that push them to strike Hydra with their full strength. And slowly, they are succeeding.

In Faraway Avalon of the Camelot Realm…

The castle fortress is severely invaded by the region's Resistance with the assistance of Team JNPR. From Jaune Arc's leadership to Lie Ren's sharp shooting, the Resistance quickly gained the advantage over their enemies, extended even further by the Pomegrenade combo between Pyrrha Nikos and Nora Valkyrie, resulting in the former launching her teammate towards a scared group of Underworld Knights.

"I'd be running away screaming in fear if I were you!" grinned Nora, before cratering the monsters with her electrified hammer.

In Machine Labyrinth Zone of the Sol Realm…

"IT'S CLOBBERIN' TIME, YA PINK ERASER!" shouted The Thing of the Fantastic Four before colliding powerful attacks with Erazor Djinn.

Before they were imprisoned by their enemies, but thanks to the Avengers Alliance, the Fantastic Four were freed in time to aid the Resistance in liberating this mechanized island from the Evil Djinn and his minions.

An annoyed Erazor grunts, "How annoying. Taking advantage of Nega's mess to assault us."

"I believe the correct term is 'clever'. And nothing is cleverer than fighting as a family." quipped Mister Fantastic, coordinate with the other members of his family to take out the immortal genie.

In Crystal Castle of the Nightmare Realm…

Not just heroes, but even some villains have agreed to take part in this simultaneous global counterattack, like the Brotherhood of Mutants led by Magneto and the Nightmarens led by Reala as they lay siege to this crystalized base. Sabretooth and the Nightmaren Clawz go berserk on poor Kang Soldiers, while a grinning Mystique just sits back on the Nightmaren Gillwing as it rampages through the field.

"Remind me again why we agreed to help the heroes?" Reala enters a brief conversation with the Mutant Leader.

"Kang is the immediate threat. Deal with him now, deal with the heroes later. Best continue cooperating if you don't want to displease Wizeman." Magneto answered calmly.

Reala scoffs, "Fine." as they continue to reluctantly assist in this alliance.

In the Polluted Plains of the Sakaar Realm…

Because of Amazing Spider-Man's earlier hacking of the Eggnet, the Eggman Empire suddenly turned against the Chronos Corps when it looked like they had the local resistance on the ropes. Badniks and Super Badniks alike join forces with the Warbound, further aided by the lightning-speed power of two Metal Sonics, one from the Classic World and the other from the Boom World.

"The virus worked! My future descendant has lost control over my Empire!" exclaimed Classic Eggman from his Egg Mobile, having been contacted by his future self to join their counterstrike.

"YEAH! GET THEM ALL, METAL!" cheered Boom Eggman from his own Egg Mobile, who was also contacted to assist.

"You mean 'my Metal' or 'your Metal'?" A confused Classic asked.

"The one with the highest kill count of course." Boom cockily retorted.

"So mine."

"No, mine!"

"Mine!"

"MINE!"

Watching the two Eggheads pointlessly argue from the ground is Roman Torchwick and his silent partner, Neopolitan. "Why was I left with these two Eggheads?" Torchwick shruggingly wondered to himself, while Neo casually knocks out a Kang Soldier with her umbrella without batting an eye.

In Sand Oasis of the Arabian Nights Realm…

Working together like they once were in the past, the soldiers of New Menagerie and White Fang raid the desert domain in hopes of reclaiming it for King Shahryar. Ronan the Accuser isn't making it easy while he's nearly dominating the heroic trio of animals comprised of Ilia Amitola, Squirrel Girl, and the Unfaltering Beastkin of the BlazBlue World, Makoto Nanaya.

Combining her agility with her Lightning Lash weapon, Ilia manage to taze the Accuser for a second before she is overpowered by his Kree might. Before she is killed, the young Faunus is saved by an unstoppable torrent of squirrels that were summoned by Squirrel Girl and watch as they surprisingly overwhelm the Kree screaming with confused rage from their terrifying ferocity, leaving him wide open for a face-breaking punch from Makoto that knocks him out cold.

"Ah yeah! Was that an awesome combo or what?" asked the smiling Makoto to her new friends.

"I guess. I'm just a little surprised an alien overlord was beaten by a bunch of squirrels." Ilia responded with a confused expression of slight disbelief.

"Never underestimate squirrel power!" Squirrel Girl exclaimed happily, exchanging high-fives with her Beastkin counterpart.

Back in Kang's Citadel…

"Report!" Kang sternly ordered a response from one of his minions that are rigorously trying to assess their sudden situation.

"I…I don't understand…How are they attacking us all over at once?" commented a stunned Minion, before glancing at the continuous laser barrage that are assaulting their tower's shields.

"REPORT!" shouted Kang from his floating throne, getting impatiently furious with his minion.

His Minion walks up to him and Princess Ravonna to personally report the terrible news, "Resistance has simultaneously risen all over the globe ambushing our strongholds from these portals. We are losing territory as we speak. Additionally, we have lost the support of the Eggman Empire! Eggman Nega claims he has been usurped without his knowing!"

This news silently annoys Kang, and to Ravonna it scares her to the heart. "This is bad, my Kang. We were already under pressure by the time distortions. What should we do?" Ravonna asked her love.

"Have no fear, Ravonna." Kang calmly assured him, "Despite this clever little plot, the 'heroes' are still powerless against my master plan. Let them come. I'd be mildly shocked if they could somehow bypass by shields." He proclaimed confidence, believing that he still holds the upper hand in this global showdown.

Meanwhile…

"Thanks, Nova, we're good to go here."

The Chrono-Armored Iron Man and his strike force consisting of Amazing Spider-Man, Classic Sonic, Young Salem, Sticks, Noel, Yosuke, and Linne are currently inside the orbital celestial marketplace known as Knowhere. They are ready to initiate the second phase of their counterattack, which is using the head's vast cosmic power to generate an EMP strong enough to disable the Citadel's shields.

"Fire the EMP?" asked Linne, with her hand hovering over the activation lever.

"Now!" Stark gestured.

Fiercely, Linne pulls down the switch that envelops their room in a blinding light from the amount of energy that is generating. The moment Knowhere reaches full power, it unleashes a shockwave so massively powerful across Chronopolis that it successfully disables the Citadel's shields. Bonus points of short-circuiting a lot of its inner technology that electrocutes some soldiers, resulting in Kang actually being mildly shocked.

Down in Chronopolis, the rest of the Avengers Alliance noticed the EMP worked, much to their joy. 'Okay, shields are down, Rich!' Tony contacted Nova Prime down there.

Nova presses on his ear comm ordering, "Nova Squadron, LIGHT IT UP!"

BGM-Sonic Colors OST-Terminal Velocity (Act 1)

Swooping over the alliance of heroes is a fleet of Star Blaster ships used by the Nova Corps in their brave attempt to be the first to assault the Citadel now that it lost it shields. But halfway toward their objective, the entire squadron was obliterated by a massive laser that came out of nowhere. Literally, as Damocles Base seamlessly materializes in the sky to cause some problems for the Alliance.

"Kang's ship! It just wiped out the whole squadron!" A surprised Nova remarked before contacting, "Tony?!"

"Yeah, we saw everything." responded Tony from Knowhere, as his team hurry to their Quinjet at the docking bay, "Kang must have teleported it in from outside of Chrono World. I'm taking my team to intercept now."

"Third time's the charm. Let's finally knock that sword outta the sky!" Classic Sonic determinedly expressed upon boarding their jet.

Boosting to their hyperfast top speed, the Quinjet makes a beeline for Damocles Base. The Sword Ship fires everything it has on the little jet, with its shields desperately holding up as they reach the top of the ship. "It's shields are still offline. Okay, Stark, we're coming up fast. Get ready to jump!" Rocket ordered while piloting the Quinjet.

The second the Quinjet flew over the massive sword station, Stark's team jumped into a freefall. "So where's the entrance?" shouted Yosuke.

"We make one!" Stark quipped, firing a Unibeam strong enough to blow open a large hole for his team to dive straight in.

BGM-Mega Man ZX Advent Tunes OST-Path to the Truth

After so many tries and fails across time and space, a team of Avengers was finally successful in infiltrating Damocles Base. Stark's team landed somewhere inside the massive space station, with each hero eager to wreck everything in their sights toward their objective. "Alright, guys. We're in. Let's head to the main bridge." Amazing Spider-Man suggested.

"Got it." Salem complied with a stern look, joining her allies in this incredible raid.

In a blistering rush, the heroes race through the many halls of Damocles Base in search of a means to the main bridge. It'll be difficult, as a horde of Chronos Corpsmen are seen trying to delay them with laserfire. Not a problem for Sonic and Linne, both using their amazing speed dodging numerous lasers before striking foes with Spin Attacks and sword swings respectively.

One Major Ursa Grimm manage to land a clawing strike that knocks Sonic out of his spinball state whilst sending him flying toward Yosuke's direction. "PERSONA!" shouted Yosuke, summoning his inner spirit known as Jiraiya of the Magician Arcana. "Catch!" He commanded, as Jiraiya catches the flunged hedgehog before infusing him with wind magic, allowing Sonic to bowl through the Ursa and the monsters behind it with an amplified Spin Dash. Overjoyed with their teamwork, Sonic exchanges high-fives with both Yosuke and his Persona before they continue their dangerous venture.

Along the way, they come across a Giant-One of the Underworld Knights that is also trying to impede their path with its giant battle axe. After dodging one of its massive swings, it was time for Iron Man, Sticks and Salem to show off their little teamwork action. The Badger activates her Fire Mode whilst throwing her boomerang, which is further enhanced by the Sorceress' duplication spell to distract the big guy from every direction, revealing an opening for the Billionaire to exploit with dashing, dual energy blades capable of slashing time and the demon into nothing.

"WOOHOO! Let's dance with these bozos, Noel!" shouted Spider-Man.

"You got it!" Noel responded.

Both the Spider and Lieutenant spin-leap into a circle of enemies that they quickly taken down with awesome coordination. They fight back-to-back, with the stickiness of Spidey's Web Shooters followed by the explosive power of Noel's dual handguns proving too much for any normal foe to recover from. It gets even worse when Spidey unveils his spider-legs and Noel morphs her guns into a rifle, combining their power into one massive blast that blows goons through a wall.

Sharing a joyful laugh from their awesome combo, Spidey and Noel glance smiles at each other before they were among the first to catch a stoic Kang on a nearby monitor saying, 'What have we here? Some "Avengers" trying to stop my inevitable triumph? How utterly amusing!'

"Can't have a world-ending crisis without a few laughs, right?" quipped Sonic.

Kang scoffs, 'We'll see how "funny" it is when I'm through with you!' before signing off.

"I don't like the sound of that. You think we're running into a trap?" Noel worriedly wondered.

"It IS suspicious his shields were never repaired over the past weeks considering his technology." Salem commented, starting to believe they are running into a trap.

Tony repulsors a Kang Soldier whilst replying, "Just keep your guard up. Let's take this monorail tube." He looked at the aforementioned transport nearby, "Should be our ticket to the bridge."

BGM End

With some fancy hacking from the Armored Avenger, the monorail was quickly available for the heroes to use. They all aboard it and take a moment to relax as they are seamlessly transported through the spaceship. Moments later, the group finally arrive at the main bridge, and suspiciously enough, it's deserted, making some of them worry.

"So, Tony, I bet you wish you had Thor or Hulk along for the ride?" asked Spider-Man, nervously jumping off the monorail.

"A mode of my Nox Nyctores IS called 'Thor'…" Noel responded, shrugging with her handguns.

Tony retorts, "Good, 'cause the last thing I need is a raging Hulk. Right now I also need your Spider-Senses…" He points to Peter, "Salem's beauty and magic…" He points to Salem, giving him an unamused glare for his flirting, "Sticks's…" He gestures to the badger, only to watch her trying to swat a fly that keeps bugging her, much to his embarrassment.

BGM-Shadow the Hedgehog OST-The Messiah

"…Oh bravo, bravo…" Suddenly, Kang makes his presence known aboard the bridge on a floating platform as he mockingly claps for the heroes that made it this far, "I applaud your fortitude. Your tactics were audacious."

"NOW!" Iron Man shouted at everyone to each hurl a powerful shot straight at the Conqueror. But to the heroes' annoyance, their attacks simply passed through him because he's just a convincing hologram, "Hologram?!"

"Well if we can't hurt him, he can't hurt us." Yosuke believed.

Kang slyly grins, "No, but I CAN plummet this ship into the ground."

BGM End

By his own will, Kang causes Damocles Base to lose altitude as it slowly descends to its own destruction alongside everyone that trapped within. Most of the non-fliers quickly lose their footing as the ship tilts while Kang continues mocking them, "Now you must excuse me, I will leave you with a parting gift. Meet…Korvac."

BGM-Lego Marvel Superheroes 2 OST-Damocles Base (Boss)

Through a time distortion, Kang summons a large naked humanoid man with good hair and glowing with cosmic power that frightens the heroes. "If the crash doesn't obliterate you, HE surely will." Kang then laughs manically before his hologram dissipates.

"Friday, who are we dealing with?" asked Linne.

'Michael Korvac is one with the Power Cosmic. He's PRETTY much a god.' The worried Friday briefs everyone on their latest and terrifying adversary.

"Okay…NOW I wish I had a Hulk." Stark quipped, as the gang nervously prepare themselves for a grueling match with the cosmic monster.

"You loathsome beings! I'm going to ENJOY my role in your imminent demise!" said Korvac as he takes to the sky, attacking the heroes with a powerful cosmic blast. When the smoke clears, he was immediately displeased to see them alive thanks to Iron Man surrounding his team in a temporal distortion shield.

"We need to settle this fast before we crash." Tony declared, "Salem, you're our support! Sonic, Spidey, and Linne, outmaneuver him with speed in time for the rest of us to attack!" With those orders given out, it was time to counterattack starring Iron Man converting his shield into a repulsor barrage to distract Korvac long enough for the heroes to get into their positions. Sonic and Linne blitz up and down and all around the cosmic cyborg at spectacular speeds, turning him away from Spider-Man suddenly binding him with webbing to leave him open for a double strike from the speedsters, but Korvac wouldn't allow it. The Enemy burst himself free from the webs with enough devastating cosmic force that it painfully flings the speedsters and Spider-Man aside.

Swiftly, explosive flares are launched at Korvac, blinding him to a sudden repulsor stream to the face from Iron Man that smashes him to a wall. Watching him pull himself out, Tony manipulates time to summon two clones of himself, each of them surrounding their mutual enemy to keep him at bay with continuous repulsors long enough so Yosuke, Sticks, and Noel could unleash their most powerful attacks.

"Your new Armor and friends won't save you, Stark!" Korvac endured the Avenger's assault with minor injuries before teleporting away from everyone's attacks, reappearing to blindside the three younglings with a cosmic blast that nearly kills them. He fires the finishing blow, only for Salem to summon up the Mirror Dimension to protect them whilst absorbing the blast, then launches the Dimension straight toward the Enemy.

However, Korvac responds by crushing the entire Mirror Dimension with a strike from his fist, before rending a sizable rift in the fabric of spacetime behind Salem and her recovering friends, creating a destructive black hole that tries to consume them all. While Spidey and Iron Man use their respective Chronoa technology to close the black hole, Linne surprises Korvac with swords empowered by light, rushing and slashing him multiple times before launching him with an uppercut slash that'll hopefully seal the deal.

"DIVINE BLAZE!" Linne yelled out.

But to the Princess' horror, her devastating slash was effortlessly caught by Korvac's bare hand. He mockingly smirks, "That didn't feel divine. Let me teach you." before blasting her to the ground. And before he could wipe her out of existence, his eye is suddenly poked by Sticks and her thrown boomerang, "Ow that stings!"

"Even cyborg gods tremble before my boomerang. ALL HAIL MY BOOMERANG!" Sticks joyfully worshipped her wooden weapon, right before her mood was literally shaken by the spaceship still falling high out of the sky, "AAAAH! BOOMERANG, SAVE US!"

"I don't wanna rush anyone but how much sky do you think we've got left?!" asked by a worried Yosuke glancing at the window.

Meanwhile, Classic Sonic spindashes the cybernetic deity into a wall before backflipping to Noel's side as she shouts, "VALKYRIE VEIL!" pinning Korvac with an armagus seal and shooting them repeatedly with her guns before detonating the seal by clashing the butts of her guns together. Her ultimate combo had little effect as Korvac walks out of the smoke relatively unharmed, worrying her, "Even after that, he's still standing…"

An annoyed Sonic grunt, "He's GOTTA be almost beaten…but we're running out of time!"

"None of you have the power to stop me, for the Power Cosmic courses THROUGH me! I will PERSONALLY correct the chaos and injustice brought into the universe by civilization, starting with you two…" Korvac fiercely points to the two young heroes before his omnipotence, "The Young Embodiment of Chaos, and the Successor of the Azure."

"Correct YOURSELF first by putting on some clothes. No one's impressed with your junk." Sonic quipped at the naked deity, earning his roaring wrath in the form of a cosmic blast that would've blown him and Noel into oblivion if it weren't for Salem just barely protecting them with.

"We're not going to hold out much longer, Stark!" Salem scowlingly wants him to make up a plan that'll save their lives from the cosmic menace.

"I know, I know! Just finished thinking of a plan." Stark glances to Peter, "I'm going to need Spider-Man to lower Korvac's defenses using the Chronoblade. Disrupt his energy field for this to work."

"You got it! Yosuke, give Korvie a lift!" ordered Spidey while summoning his Chronoblade.

With a confident smile, Yosuke summons his Persona, "Jiraiya! Use Garudyne!"

The mystical ninja surprises Korvac with a tornado-powered spinning slash that knocks him into the air. As Korvac angrily knocks it away, the cosmic cyborg is suddenly slashed twice across the chest by Spidey's Chronoblade. He tries to retaliate but the Webslinger proves too fast as he backflips to a wall whilst unveiling his spider-legs. "Get ready for this time-slashing spider! EIGHT-LEGGED FURY!" exclaimed Spider-Man, using a variation of his Maximum Spider technique on Korvac. With help from his spider-legs, the Wallcrawler unleashes the ultimate power and lightning-fast speed of an arachnid whilst ensnaring him in a series of webs, then proceeds to send him crashing down a devastating sword slam.

Having actually felt that, Korvac grunts in pain as he slowly stands back up, "That won't keep me down…Not by a long shot."

"But this will!" quipped Stark, unleashing a full-powered Unibeam straight at the vulnerable cyborg.

Though the attack is powerful enough to push him back, Korvac remains confidently strong in enduring it. "This only tickles! Are you even TRYING to kill me?" Korvac mocked.

"Not exactly. Just draining you of your color and life while trapping you in another dimension. Kinda like what the Time Eater did to us once before." Stark snarked, using the power of his Chrono Armor to do the trick.

Shocked, Korvac shouts, "Wait what?!" before noticing the color of his body being drained to the point that not even his cosmic power can save him. "No! STOP!" He pleaded for his life.

"Too late. See ya never, Korvac. Try to send us a postcard from that White Space." joked Stark.

BGM End

With one final push from the Armored Avenger, the Unibeam knocks down Korvac. As the remains of his color disappear alongside his body, Korvac mutters, "How is this possible?" before he is forever banished to the White Space as a colorless statue.

BGM-Sonic Advance 2 OST-Extra Ending

"He disappeared!" The shocked Sticks noted.

Suddenly, the ship's AI announces, 'Warning, impact imminent.' as it is moments away from crashing into Chronopolis.

"And so are we!" retorted Iron Man. The Iron Avenger swoops in to catch Spider-Man, who uses his webbing and spider-legs to grab the others as they make a beeline for the exit. The moment they fly out of Damocles Base, the entire space station crash as it explodes in a blaze of glory that decimates an entire district of Chronopolis, ending its threat for good.

"Okay, I know Kang just crashed it, but if anyone asks, it was all us." Spider-Man said, causing Tony to groan while they're all safe high in the air.

But from afar, alone on a rooftop is Mephiles the Dark spying on the Avengers that were successful destroying Damocles Base. "So they even defeated Korvac. When push comes to shove, the Avengers' resolve can be quite frightening." He calmly noted. From looking up to down, the Dark Demon observes the massive explosive battle that is still going on between the Avengers Alliance and the Chronos Corps. He ominously mutters, "In a short time…I will show them what true resolve is…" with sinister eyes glaring down at the three Legendary Hedgehogs of Time.

KFX Here: It's the beginning of the end. Half of this chapter was dedicated in showing off battles across Chrono World. The next chapter will be dedicated in showing the big battle happening in Chronopolis. Look forward to it.
