AN: Guest: I love the flashbacks too! I'm trying to post the flashbacks in chronological order, but I can't help but add a few little teasers from their past here and there. :DD
Guest: As for who's with Brandon... good guess ;))
Something's Got A Hold On Me
"What was that about?" James turned to his father, irritated
"I felt that you two were... getting a little ahead of yourselves." Dylan paused, "A little too attached."
"Dad. I like her!" James proclaimed
"I know, son. I get it. There are just some people that have... got a hold on ya."
"Then, why'd you kick her out?" James barked
"Jimmy, can the attitude." Dylan warned, "The bottom line is you would never have pulled this with your mother."
"How would you know? Before you were the one who used to be working late on your column back home."
"Jim, your mum would wouldn't allow you to be making out with your girlfriend on the couch. So, neither would I."
"As I recall, you never had a problem with the girls I brought around. And you even encouraged me to go for Pam!"
"That was then."
"So that's it? That's the explanation I get?"
"Hey! Remember who's the parent here."
"Fine." James scoffed, hurrying to his room. Dylan let out a frustrated sigh.
"Hey..." Kelly began as her daughter threw herself onto the couch.
"Hey." Pam mumbled, "What you watching?" She alluded to the TV
"Nothing really... Just background noise." Kelly turned to her daughter who seemed to be in a mood.
"How was the movie night?" She asked, reluctantly
"Why do you care?" Pamela scoffed
"Pam... I'm trying here... to open a dialogue... to... share with you." Kelly huffed
"I already know what you think, mum... You're too judgmental so I don't wanna talk about it."
"Try me..." Kelly encouraged
"...His dad didn't approve of us on the couch." Pamela sighed
"Doing what?" Kelly sternly asked
"Nothing, mum. Chill! It didn't go that far."
"Pam, I warned you about being careful and protection and-"
"-Mum, I don't need the lecture again. God, why can't you be more like grandma!"
"Trust me, one day you'll be glad I'm not like Jackie." Kelly chuckled at her daughter's naivety
"Would I? 'Cause what I would really like is to share with you. I would like to get excited about a boy with you just like you got to do with grandma."
"I'd like that too."
"Then stop assuming the worst. Lighten up! Everyone says 'Oh your mum was the life of the party!' ...So what happened to you?"
"It's called growing up and being a responsible adult." Kelly informed
"Ooh fun!" Pamela rolled her eyes. She was about to get up when Kelly called out.
"Pam..."
"What?" Pam threw her head back in exhaustion
"...You really like this boy?" Kelly bit her lip.
"I do... he's different."
"In what way?" Kelly internally groaned, not wanting to hear about the McKay charm.
"He really looks at me and listens intently to what I have to say... He actually wines and dines a girl."
Tell me about it... Kelly thought to herself. Her mind tried to recall her first date with Dylan at that fancy restaurant...
"I would do this..." Dylan grinned as his head moved towards hers and softly kissed her. "And this..." He tilted his head to one side and kissed her again. "And maybe even this..." He yearned and longed to be close to her. He had wanted this for so long - even before this summer - that now his body almost ached for her.
"Spend the night with me, Kelly." He pleaded and she smiled at him.
"Let's take a walk first." She insisted, pacing him.
"Let's get out of here." He urged -
-No. Kelly shook off her thoughts. Refusing to let that memory sink back in. She wasn't capable of remembering it... yet.
"I know you don't approve." Pamela sighed after her mother had remained silent, forcing Kelly out of her day dream. "But I don't want to let him go."
"...Some people you just can't shake." Kelly exhaled, barely speaking out loud.
"That's the last of it." Dylan grabbed the final bag from the car and brought it into the old Walsh residence.
"How much did you pack?" Brenda chuckled at her brother.
"Hey... You guys know me... I'm all about efficiency... This is all her." Brandon playfully glared at his wife.
"Well, this is Beverly Hills after all... Gotta dress the part." Valerie turned to kiss her husband
"You'll look good no matter what." He assured
"So..." Brenda began once they were all reacquainted, "You guys must be starving."
"Yeah." Dylan agreed, "You wanna grab a mega burger?"
"That's okay. I think we'll stay in tonight. Take it easy and meet everyone tomorrow." Brandon decided
"Yeah..." Valerie nodded, "You guys want to stay for dinner?"
"Sure, why not?" Dylan rubbed his head, "As long as Brenda's cooking."
"Hey!" Valerie playfully hit him
"I'll get the boys." Brenda sighed
"Jimmy, Tommy... what do you guys want to eat?" Brenda called out as the boys remained in Brandon's old bedroom.
"Whatever." James called back. "We'll be down in a minute."
"So..." James turned back to his cousin, who was now in the shared bathroom that once belonged to Brandon and Brenda. "When did this start?"
"Oh this?" Thomas smirked as he lit his cigarette. "Don't worry about it."
"You still having trouble?" James asked
"You know my dad... always with the pressure to keep on the straight and narrow."
"Sorry about that." James sighed
"You don't know how lucky you are that your dad is so lenient."
"I don't know about that.. He hasn't been lately... Kicked my girlfriend out the other night."
"Girlfriend?" Thomas smirked, "That was quick!"
"Tommy, I tell ya." James winked, "This girl..." He began but their catchup was quickly interrupted by their parents calling them downstairs.
"Right. After dinner, you gotta catch me up on what life is like in Beverly Hills." Thomas let out a cheeky grin
"Hang onto your hat." Jimmy warned
"We certainly aren't in Washington anymore." Thomas sighed, "I've missed you, cuz."
"Same here, man."
