AN: Guest: Thank you for the review. I do appreciate reviews - especially when they're polite. I agree Pam is whiny right now and needs to be put in her place; she is definitely having a tough time and her and Kelly's relationship isn't the best. As for Kelly - I got the idea from when she stripped at the beach with Kyle, and you're right, Dylan is very private - but perhaps I should specify, these time capsules were meant to be private. This was a personal project for the students to sit alone and document their thoughts, take the video home when they graduate, and look back at it in the years to come to see how they feel. So Dylan and the others never expected anyone to see it nor would it be broadcast. I think I should also reiterate that this is an AU story. By that I mean it's the first time I really get to create an alternate universe and have the option to explore the characters' dark side, rather than keeping it as clean as the original show. :))

Brown Eyes

"Hey, Don... Mind if I...?" Dylan began

"Yeah, sure." Donna nodded and left for him to take her seat.

"Hi, Kel." Dylan drawled as he turned to her once he sat down. The sound of her name in that breathy whisper of his always made her knees weak.

"Hi."

"Listen erm... Last time we talked... I didn't handle things so well."

"...Don't sweat it." Kelly sighed, "Hasn't been easy for me either."

"Yeah... " He nodded "Just trying to get a little closure." He knew she was fighting what he was fighting; having to face each other and fight away the many feelings and memories they had closed the door on.

"Have we ever?" She chuckled

"No, you're right." Dylan tilted his head to one side, watching her mouth as she talked - another habit he struggled to kick: getting lost in her.

She started to feel uncomfortable under his piercing gaze. She never quite could keep her composure around him. She felt like she was 18 or 19 all over again.

"Do you... " He began before stopping himself and shrugging, "Never mind."

"What?" She urged. Staring into those brown eyes she could stare at forever. She felt a tingling down her spine from the way he looked at her - The way he always looked at her. Sometimes she wondered if he knew how gorgeous he looked when he stared her down; purposefully tempting her.

"...You wouldn't want to take a drive, would you?" He asked. Without a second thought, she agreed. He got up and helped her off her stool.

It felt all too familiar driving around in his car with Kelly in the passenger seat next to him. However, there was a lot of tension - tension that resulted from having to act like strangers.

"A lot changes in 17 years..." He broke the silence and she turned to gaze at him as he drove.

"And yet things stay the same..." She murmured and he let out a little chuckle

"You look good." He glanced at her, thinking that was the most polite way he could put it.

"So do you..." She bit her lip.

"You know, your daughter... she's a lot like you." He admitted

"She must hate that." Kelly rolled her eyes and Dylan let out a smirk

"She's very fiery..."

"You don't have to live with her." Kelly joked, "You did a good job though... you and Brenda." Kelly pursed her lips. It wasn't easy to bring up Brenda, but she knew she should.

"Yeah... Jimmy's good." He paused, "I'm trying to be... "

Kelly fidgeted in her seat and couldn't look up from the floor. It was awkward - Trying to make small talk was tough since Dylan never let her get away with beating around the bush when it came to them. They didn't know how to be around each other without falling into old habits. 17 years felt like a lifetime apart and yet the minute they saw each other, the sexual tension between them made it hard to breathe. But one thing was for certain, things were different now and as hard as it was, they both had to accept it.

"I should get going." Kelly urged and Dylan nodded, turning the car around after aimlessly driving around.

Dylan parked in front of her house. Turned off the engine and turned to look at her. It was a small step forward; they were talking, they were peaceful.

"This was nice." He began, not taking his eyes off her

"Yup..." She nodded slowly, trying to avoid looking into his. They both made sure to not touch each other. One look and one touch used to be all it took for them to give in to each other.

"You should probably get inside." He advised. She smiled politely at him.

"Thanks for the drive." She said before getting out the car.

"Yeah... " Dylan cleared his throat as he watched her head into her house.

Brandon and convinced his family to make the move to stay in Beverly Hills. James was happy his cousin will be enrolling into West Beverly, and the kids all headed to Leslie Marianne Moore's party for New Year's Eve.

"Is Hannah okay?" James asked Pamela as they sat in the garden at the party

"She's still a bit shaken up about the whole time capsule broadcast"

"Aren't we all?" James joked

"She doesn't think it was an accident. Her and Cameron figure someone stole the key and intentionally went after those videos."

"Why...?" James wondered, but before Pamela could speak, James' cellphone rang. "It's my mum from New York. I gotta take this." He kissed Pam's cheek before getting up.

"You know smoking will kill ya." Pamela said finding Thomas lighting a cigarette behind where her and James were sat

"Really? You're the first one to ever tell me." He grinned, "Jimmy still on the phone with aunt Brenda?"

"Yeah..." Pamela sighed, "How do you feel with the move and all?"

"...It's all the same to me. Better views here though." He smirked

"I'll have a scotch on the rocks." Dylan ordered at the After Dark bar.

"Wanna get me one?" A young woman asked

"Sure..." Dylan cracked his neck, "Make that two."

"We're not serving her. She's 19." The bartender insisted

"Hey!" She groaned, "Cut me some slack."

"Sorry kid..." Dylan shrugged

"I should be allowed to order whatever I want! This is my brother's place!"

"And since it's your brother's place, you already know what he said, Erin."

"Erin?" Dylan turned to face her, "Erin Silver?"

"Yeah... who's asking?" She popped her gum. Dylan chuckled, now able to see the Silver/Taylor resemblance in her facial features.

"I'm Dylan. I knew you when you were a baby until you were about... 3 years old."

"Ah. An old family friend... perhaps you want to catch up over buying me a drink?" She grinned

"Nice try." Dylan laughed

"Fine. A bientot!" She turned on her heel.

"Oui." Dylan waved her off.

The After Dark New Year's party had David DJ-ing and Donna having to drive a wild Erin home. Dylan wandered around the party, barely looking at all the faceless people around until he spotted her. There she was sporting a red dress. Dylan swallowed a gulp; was there anything more torturous for him than seeing Kelly in a signature red dress?

"Where's Steve?" He crept up behind her. His breath on her neck made her shudder

"Working." She turned to face him, "Brenda?"

"New York still." He murmured, looking her up and down which only made Kelly restless

"Dylan, stop that." She whispered

"Stop what?" He asked

"Stop looking at me like that." She let out an exasperated sigh

"Like what?" He provoked. She took a deep breath and looked at him with pleading eyes.
