Guest: I can't picture Kelly with anything but long, straight hair, so maybe the WILAY hair is close to it. But she can look how you want her to look :)) And yes, Brandon triangle is definitely in this story - but their college years are a darker take here.
Do It Over
"Hello stranger!" Dylan cheered, answering the phone, "Forgotten us now you're a big broadway star?"
"Never." She chuckled
"How are you, Bren?" He asked, slouching on the couch
"I'm good. How are you two?"
"Surviving." He cleared his throat
"Listen... I might be a little longer."
"Seriously?" Dylan groaned "Jimmy won't be happy."
"I know... Let me talk to him."
"He's out with Pam."
"Dylan." Brenda said sternly, "It's a school night!"
"Relax, they're probably at the peach pit or something."
"Alright. Have him call me tomorrow." She insisted
"Okay. Love you, Bren." He soothed
"Love you too." She replied before hanging up and turning to face Rick.
"Thanks for getting me the writing gig." He grinned
"Sure..." Brenda breathed out.
"What are you doing here?" Kelly's eyes narrowed once she opened her door to find Dylan behind it
"I came to apologize..." Dylan breathed out
"For what exactly? Trying to kiss me?" she suggested
"I wouldn't apologize for that..." Dylan shrugged and she tried to hide her amusement.
"You are something else..." She rolled her eyes
"So... you gonna let me in?" She stepped aside allowing him to pass through. He headed straight for her living room.
"So..." She began once they were both sat on the couch "What are you sorry for?"
"Nothing." Dylan cleared his throat and smirked "That was just to get one foot in the door."
"Wow." She chuckled, folding her arms, "So deceptive." She said disapprovingly which made him grin
"Absolutely. I should be tortured." He joked
"I should torture you." She warned jokingly
"Oh believe me... you already do." He knew as soon as he said that they wouldn't be joking around anymore. His eyes fixated on hers as she took in a deep breath.
"...You're not happy." He said after she had remained silent. His voice sounded soothing, she had missed how comforting his voice was.
"...Steve wants a divorce." She finally replied
"I'm sorry..." Dylan sighed
"It's okay. I should've expected it" She shrugged
"No, I mean I'm sorry you stopped fighting." He shook his head
"For what?" She turned to face him
"Your life... Your spirit..."
"Well... Life goes on." She said dismissively
"...I would've made you happy." He whispered
"...I don't doubt that." Her voice cracked
"I say we put half in the trunk of my car and half in yours." David said as he and Dylan took Kelly's birthday presents out to the parking lot
"Sounds good." Dylan nodded. As they began distributing the gifts, they heard sirens. The ambulance pulled up beside them and they began to push passed the boys.
"What's going on?" David asked curiously
"Someone made an emergency call? Girl fainted in the bathroom?" One of the paramedics asked
"What?" David's eyes widened.
"Kelly's in the bathroom..." Dylan thought out loud. The boys quickly ran behind the paramedics inside the Peach Pit.
The paramedics were pulling Kelly onto the gurney. The crowd surrounding them made it difficult for Dylan and David to get through.
"Move!" Dylan urged the crowd, running over to the scene.
"Sir, please step back." A paramedic spoke
"That's my girlfriend!" He warned
"I'm sorry but you need to move out of the way."
"What the hell happened?" He asked.
"Good thing you found her when you did." The paramedic praised Brenda.
The paramedics informed the group of friends which hospital she would be taken to. David informed them that he was family and would call Kelly's mother. Dylan and the rest of the gang proceeded to head into their cars and drive over themselves. Once they arrived Dylan and David both tried to get in to see her. Naturally, only family members were allowed to enter, so Dylan had to go back and sit with the rest of their friends. Frustrated he began to pace up and down the waiting room.
Everyone kept Kelly in good spirits. They made jokes about Kelly receiving mouth to mouth - teasing Dylan about how good looking the paramedic was - knowing of his jealous streak when it came to Kelly - to lighten the mood. Steve finally arrived to comfort Kelly - to which Dylan turned away. He and Steve still hadn't made their peace since they both hated seeing Kelly date the other. Then finally everyone left and Dylan stayed by her side all night long. Kelly finally fell asleep so Dylan pulled a heavier blanket over her. "I love you." He whispered. Knowing that she was asleep made it easier to express how he felt without fear of feeling vulnerable.
When she woke up, she looked over to Dylan and was surprised that he slept on that uncomfortable chair all night just to be by her side. In that moment she smiled to herself. Knowing that he truly did love her. After all, little did he know that she heard him last night.
His eyes fluttered open and he was greeted good morning by her soft tone. He got up and crawled into the hospital bed with her. He asked if she was okay, to which she nodded. He then planted a gentle kiss on her neck before laying his head down to rest on her chest, he was finally comfortable. She resumed reading her magazine with one hand, the other arm wrapped around him.
"You ever wonder what would have happened... if we never agreed to meet at your cabana at 5?" He asked
"I guess... we'd just be friends?" She drawled
"Hmm..." He gave that some thought, "Kinda like we are right now."
"Minus the heartache." She let out a nervous chuckle.
"Minus the passion." He corrected, making it awkward again. After a moment of silence. He got up.
"I guess I should get going then." He affirmed
"Okay..." She said breathlessly
"Thanks for the uh... well, letting me in." He shot her a half smirk before heading to the door.
"...Dylan." She spoke as his hand reached for the handle
"Yeah?" He turned back around to face her
"...If you could do it all over..." She paused, "Would you have shown up at my cabana?" Her glistening eyes gazed into his. He gazed right back at her. That piercing gaze that would not waver once it set upon her. He leaned forward determinedly
"...Every time."
"I know it was you." Hannah stood before Cameron.
"Hannah..." He began
"Don't try to deny it!" She interjected, sitting beside him
"It's not what you think." He assured
"What do you mean by that?" She asked
"I didn't mean to hurt anybody... I just wanted to know the truth"
"What truth?"
"...If I tell you, this goes no further."
"Cam, what is going on?" She urged
"You see this guy..." He pulled out a picture from his wallet
"Isn't that-?"
"Yeah it is... and he's my biological dad too."
