In Safe Hands

I'll leave you now

In safe hands

Wouldn't you love to make it?

Is this real or am I just imagining?

With wings take flight

The rose of why

And with that rose

The case is closed

"That was the night you found out?" Dylan asked, his tone was softer now, standing up from the swing. She nodded

"The next day I went to doctor, she told me I was only a couple of weeks along... I knew straight away it was yours."

"Are you sure?" Donna asked

"Yeah... Brandon and I... we haven't been intimate in a few weeks... There's been so much going on... work, stress, school or... Dylan."

"Oh my god..." Donna sighed, "What are you going to do?"

"I have no idea."

"Well... you need to talk to Dylan."

"Great." She drawled

"Hey..." Donna comforted, "It's going to be okay. You've got all of us."

"You want to tell me why I had to hear it from Nat?" Brandon said once Dylan opened his front door. Dylan sighed in response, turning back in to continue packing. Brandon followed him in the house.

"What did you hear?" Dylan finally spoke

"He said you're leaving... Because of Kelly. And that it's no longer your home." Brandon explained, but Dylan remained silent.

"Where you gonna go?" Brandon continued

"Paris." Dylan breathed out

"Were you gonna say goodbye?" Brandon asked, and Dylan stopped to look at him

"Didn't know how to." Dylan drawled, seeming sorrowful.

"You coming back?" Brandon asked

"I don't know." Dylan sounded doubtful. He threw his bag over his shoulder and headed outside to his car. Brandon followed suit

"Dylan..." Brandon began as Dylan got in the car, "Despite everything... You take care." He said softly. Dylan turned to face him, with sad eyes and nodded, giving him the bro handshake.

"Lock up for me, would ya?" He threw the keys over to Brandon. Brandon nodded.

"Hey!" James exclaimed, finding Pamela at the door.

"Who is it?" Brenda called from the living room.

"It's Pam!" James answered before turning to Pamela.

"I hope it's alright that I dropped by." She began, "My mum's still not home so I thought I'd come see you."

"Of course." He said, pulling her in for a kiss.

"So..." James began once he and Pamela were in his room "Your mum agreed."

"Yeah... I caught her before she left for my Aunt Donna's. She was in such a rush, I don't think she even heard me!" Pamela chuckled

"Well, we'll give her the benefit of the doubt. How about that?" He grinned, kissing her.

Kelly drove up to Dylan's, dreading the conversation they were about to have. But once she arrived, his car wasn't outside. Yet his door was wide open.

Kelly headed in to find Brandon sitting on the couch.

"Hi..." Kelly breathed out. Brandon turned to face her. "What's... going on?" She looked around

"...He's gone." Brandon sighed in sorrow. Kelly stood there, watching him. Brandon began to tear up, she began to tear up.

"Is he... coming back?" She asked

"Doesn't look like it."

"Kelly..." Jackie began, "Trust me, you won't be able to keep up with your studies while pregnant"

"Andrea's doing it." Kelly shrugged

"Andrea has a husband."

"So? I have you guys." Kelly concluded

"Yeah." David assured, walking into the living room with a little Erin. "But she's just saying... there are options."

"Yes." Jackie agreed.

"Have you heard from him?" Kelly uttered sheepishly

"No.. and that's not what I came to talk about." Brandon sighed

"What is it?" She asked

"Kel, I'm leaving. I'm taking the opportunity in Washington."

"Oh." Kelly nodded slowly, "When?"

"We leave in a couple days." Brandon declared

"We?" She raised an eyebrow

"Me and Val... I just wanted you to hear it from me."

"I'll miss you." She confessed

"I'll miss you too." He said softly before turning on his heel.

"Brandon." Kelly called back, and he turned around to face her. She hugged him tightly, he wrapped his arms around her.

"I just want you to be happy." She whispered

"I will if you will." Brandon assured. Kelly got teary eyed. "Hey..." He comforted, "No regrets, right?"

"Yeah..." She mumbled. He gave her a little peck on the nose and smiled at her.

"Try this!" Steve urged, offering her a bite of his burger as he and Kelly sat at the Peach Pit booth

"No." Kelly groaned, visibly nauseous.

"What's wrong? You sick?" He asked

"No..." Kelly sighed, "I'm... pregnant."

"What?" Steve's eyes widened

"How far along?"

"About 4 weeks now." Kelly took a sip of her water

"Who's the father?" He was still in shock, "Brandon... or Dylan? ...Do they know?"

"The latter... and no, neither of them know... Neither of them are here." Kelly sighed

"Well then where the hell is he?" Steve accused

"He... doesn't want to be found."

"Why didn't you try to find me?" Dylan said, agitated and pacing around "If I were you I would have done everything I can!"

"Dylan, I did try! I even called Iris! Who said you were in Paris the last time she heard from you, and that you keep calling her from random numbers. I tried them all and none of them worked. None of them were you... You had no cellphone." Kelly cried. "Eventually... I gave up." Dylan let out an exasperated sigh.

"...I threw my phone in the water at Paradise Cove on my way out..." He remembered, lowering down to sit on the picnic bench.

"Hey Steve!" Clare greeted as she opened the door of the beach apartment

"Hey! Is Kelly here? She wasn't feeling too well at school today, thought I'd check in."

"You didn't hear?" Clare asked, "She's gone into labour."

"What? But the baby's not due for another month!" Steve gasped

"Where is she?" Steve said walking over to Donna, David and Erin in the waiting room.

"She just had an emergency C-section. Jackie's talking to the doctors." David explained

"The baby takes after you..." Steve chuckled, popping his head into the room. "Knows how to make an entrance and grab attention." Kelly let out a light chuckle.

"...Did everyone leave?" Steve asked eventually, moving to stand by her bedside.

"Yeah... Jackie will be back in the morning." Kelly's voice was groggy.

"Any news on the baby?"

"He's gonna need to stay in NICU for a while..."

"it's a boy?" Steve smiled

"Yeah. He's beautiful... just like his dad." Kelly drawled

"And the parents? I mean, the adoptive parents?"

"The parents... they managed to reschedule their flight. Can't have been easy thinking they still had a month to go but.. they'll be here in a couple of days."

"...You know, you still have a choice." Steve reminded

"...Did you find him?" Kelly whispered

"No..." Steve said apologetically, "I'm sorry."

Kelly sighed as a tear streamed down her cheek. "You should get going."

"No, I'm gonna stay if that's alright with you?" He observed her

"I'd like that." She smiled up at him. He hugged her before sitting on the chair beside her.

"There he is." The nurse brought Kelly to the baby. Kelly watched over him, smiling.

"You know..." The nurse began, handing the baby over into Kelly's arms "Some biological parents name the baby for themselves..." She then slowly closed the door behind her.

"Hey..." Kelly soothed, "Guess this is it for you and me, buddy." She teared up, holding the baby. "But I know you're in good hands... Just know that I love you and I want better for you than what I'm used to. I can't offer you that, they can. And if... if Dylan were here, he'd want more for you too... I love you... Jack." She kissed him softly, and his little fingers wrapped around hers. Tears began to roll.

"It's time." The nurse popped her head back in the room. Kelly nodded, handing over the baby before wiping her tears. "Jack's a great name."

"It's what his dad would have wanted." Kelly uttered.

"You called him Jack?" Dylan gazed at her, and she nodded. His heart sank with the news, truly touched. He got up from the picnic bench and slowly walked towards her. As he stood before her, his hands reached up to cup her face. He lowered his lips onto hers. Finally getting that passionate kiss they had been yearning for.

You gave your best to me

Allow yourself to be free

It raids your memory

Still, I'm sorry for failing

A time for change

But I need you now

To help me somehow

Well I'm scared to face this

The final kiss

But I know I'll remember it
