Domestic Bliss
"Hey!" Kelly opened her door to find Dylan behind it. "What are you doing here?"
"Well..." Dylan said walking in, "You said you were alone all weekend, and since we don't need to tiptoe around the kids like we did at the Cameron dinner fiasco we tried to have, I thought I'd bring you some leftover casserole."
"Oh, wow. Tell Brenda thank you." Kelly said, taking the dish off him and placing it on the kitchen counter.
"How'd you know I didn't make it?" He pretended to sound insulted. Kelly shot him a look and he eventually smirked. "Fine."
"Mmm" She said with a mouthful, "So good! It's been a long time since I've had some good home cooking."
"You don't cook much anymore?" He asked, sitting on one of the stools.
"Hardly." She groaned
"Why's that? You used to be a great cook when we were living together." Dylan took her fork off of her and took a bite himself, smirking.
"Kel, we got any more pasta?" Dylan called from the living room
"Kel, slow yourself down. It's alright. No chow for me." Brandon assured
"Are you sure?" Kelly asked walking over, "We've got plenty. It's rigatoni with marinara sauce!"
"Well, my girlfriend!" Dylan hugged her as she sat beside him. "I think I'll keep her."
"Dinner was delicious, babe." Dylan said after his last mouthful.
"I'm glad you liked it." She grinned
"You're getting real good at this. You may have to stay home, not work and just take care of me." He joked
"Oh, don't get too comfortable." She warned
"Alright." He smirked, "Guess we'll have to cross that bridge when we come to it."
"When?" She raised an eyebrow
"Yeah..." Dylan shrugged again, "If I have enough money to sustain us in the future, you could stay home."
"I don't know what's funnier, that you think I don't also want to make money or that you've planned out our future."
"I didn't say you shouldn't want to make your own money." He raised his hands up to profess his innocence. "And what's funny about planning our future?"
She paused. He had come a long way from the 17 year old who didn't even know whether he wanted to go to college or not. "I guess I never pegged you for the guy who planned a future."
"Guess I found some inspiration." He winked at her.
"Guess I haven't felt that same domestic bliss lately." She muttered. "Listen..." She quickly changed the subject, "About the whole, skirting around our kids thing... I do think it's a good idea to leave them out of it for now. With the divorce so fresh, I don't want to put Pam under any more stress."
"Yeah, I understand." Dylan nodded
"That's part of why I let her go to Palm Springs"
"Pam went?" Dylan cocked an eyebrow
"Well yeah." Kelly chuckled, "Just spoke to her. She said they'll be back by tomorrow. I had no idea your son had never been there before."
"Wait a minute." Dylan let out a deep breath, "They went to Palm Springs?"
"Dylan, what's wrong with you?" She chuckled again.
"Kel." He stood up, "I didn't agree to this."
"Well then... What happened?" She looked concerned
"He told me he was staying at David and Donna's. Are you sure she went with Jim?"
"Yes." Kelly now stood up as well, "I'd know if your son was staying at my brother's."
"So, they're in Palm Springs together." Dylan said through gritted teeth almost to himself. He began pacing around Kelly's kitchen. "And you agreed to let Pamela go?!" He turned back to face Kelly. His voice started to raise.
"Yeah..." She shrugged
"Kel!" Dylan's eyes widened, "Now, I mean this with all due respect, but what the hell were you thinking?!"
"What is your problem?" Kelly started to raise her voice as well
"My problem?" He growled, "They're alone in a hotel. They're going to sleep together!"
"Let's not jump to conclusions." Kelly tried to calm her tone.
"Kel, they're our kids. Of course, they're going to sleep together!" He snapped, "And they share a half brother!" Dylan began pacing anxiously again. "I gotta stop this. I have to get over there."
"Dylan... you can't be serious."
"I'm going to call Brenda, tell her I'm going to pick him up."
"Wait, Dylan. They'll be back tomorrow!" Dylan continued to ignore her as he began dialing Brenda's number.
"Bren..." He said once she answered, "Jim went to Palm Springs. Yeah... I'm bringing him home right now."
"Dylan, wait." Kelly called after him but he kept marching forward until he reached the car door.
"Dylan!" She yelled again until he finally turned around.
"What?!" He snapped as he was just about to get into his car
"You're not driving in that mood alone. I'm coming with you." She insisted, jumping into the passenger seat.
"I honestly can't believe you!" Dylan was still livid as he drove.
Kelly rolled her eyes at his dramatics
"This is exactly why I told Brenda they shouldn't see each other."
"Alright!" Kelly snapped herself, tired of listening to Dylan bitch about it. "Look, we all agreed with you, but they're dating now. So get over it. All we can do now is look at the big picture. We have to drop a huge bomb on them, so let's try to gather our thoughts and think of the right way to do that."
"It's different. Your daughter didn't lie to you. Jim went behind my and his mother's back!"
"Okay..." Kelly nodded
"And you gave them permission to go in the first place! That is the last thing I thought you'd do."
"Well, it's really not your business how I raise my daughter now is it?" She folded her arms
"Kel... you weren't thinking this time." He shook his head.
"Ugh." Kelly groaned, "We're not even half way there and I already want to kill you."
"Hello. How can I help you?" The concierge greeted Dylan and Kelly.
"Here's a picture of my son." Dylan grabbed it out of his wallet. "He's staying here. Could you tell me the room number?"
"I'm afraid I'm not permitted to give out that kind of information." He replied
Dylan's hand slapped the table. "Listen." Dylan leaned in. "Either you grab the key and take me to their room or I will call the police and inform them that you are renting rooms out to minors."
"You ready babe?" James asked as he and Pamela got dressed to go downstairs for lunch
"Almost." She called from the bathroom, putting on her perfume. She walked out in a white sundress.
"You look gorgeous." He grinned, pulling her towards him. He began to kiss her neck. "Maybe we should order in and stay here." He smirked
She giggled, "Oh okay." She pretended to protest. Just as she was about to kiss him back, the door flew open.
"Dad!" James gasped
"Mum!" Pamela's eyes widened as they saw Dylan and Kelly stood before them.
