AN: HAHA I love how you see them! Thanks for sharing!
James is coming across whiny? Must take after Dylan :DD haha JK.
.
Because of the show, I associate a 90s vibe with this, so I even see the kids as 90s actors (Actors on teen shows look so clean cut nowadays :D)
I see James as James Franco in his prime, when he was in the James Dean movie. I see him with that Dylan McKay/James Dean look. He would have inherited Brenda's fuller lips obviously :D
Pam to me is Nastassja Kinski when she was young with blonder hair. (She was considered the 80s Ingrid Bergman and Brigitte Bardot. She does look a lot like Daenerys - so GUEST, we had the same vision there :D
I see Tommy as a young Skeet Ulrich, but not with the Scream hair, instead with the short hair sticking up. I feel like he could be Val's son and he looks like a bad boy, and well, all these couples have attractive kids but Val and Brandon would definitely have a looker! :D I would imagine both James and Tommy to be v attractive.
And I actually saw Cameron as Chad Michael Murray. Although I have struggled to place a face on Cameron :DD. (Normally, I'd imagine Dylan and Kelly's son to have the James Franco type look, but Brenda and Dylan's son is the main character out of the two in this story, so I thought that was more fitting.)
AN: What's funny for me is that the kids triangle was originally just going to be a side story, nothing big - but now I'm so invested in it :DD I don't even know what's going to happen there.
Do you guys find yourself interested in the kids' triangle too?

And after all the drinks and the bars that we've been to
Would you give it all up?
Could I give it all up for you?
Thomas found Pamela sunbathing in a red bikini outside her cabana. He strolls over and sits on the lounge bed beside her.
"Finally." He grinned, leaning forward with his elbows resting on his knees. "For a moment, I thought you were avoiding me."
"I've been busy." She insisted, "Just came to grab some early sun and get a tan."
"What a coincidence! So did I." He winked
"Yeah right." She said sarcastically but she couldn't help but smile.
"Hey Tommy!" A pretty brunette from their school walked by them. "Wanna join us on the jet skis?"
"Maybe some other time, Bianca." He waved her off. Pamela scoffed
"Not joining your fan club?" She mocked once Bianca had left.
"Starting to sound like the bitter girlfriend are we?" He joked, not taking his eyes off Pamela.
"I am bitter. But not your girlfriend." She teased.
"Whose fault is that?" He jokingly teased back. She tried to hide her amusement.
"So... your boyfriend finally called me." He began after a beat, Pamela sat upright and looked at him
"What did he say?" She asked eagerly
"Just that he's having a good time, hanging out with Billy and Denise. - They grew up across from my grandparents and every summer when we went to visit them, we'd hang out with the neighbors."
"Did... anything happen with him and this Denise?"
"No... I got there first." He smirked, and she rolled her eyes.
"Shocking." She rolled her eyes, "You've already made your way through the school."
"Well, James and I never had trouble picking up girls." He said in a cocky tone.
"You both are ridiculously handsome but... James can be loyal." She teased
"So can I. If you'd give me a chance." He leaned in. Brushing off his flirting at this point, she turned away from him.
"Did he mention me?" She asked after a beat
"He... he said he needed some time to figure things out. -I told him to give you call." He assured
"Is there someone else?" She asked coyly
"I don't know..." He laid down on the sun bed.
"Did it sound like there was someone else?" She probed, and he laughed.
"Pam... " He shook his head, chuckling. "He'll call. And if doesn't, you've got your answer."
Pamela held onto that thought. "...You're right." She nodded, "That is an answer."
"Great. So let's go for a swim." He decided
"No... I'm just gonna stick by the cabana today."
"Come on." He groaned. She continued to protest but he was no longer listening. He got up, grabbed her and threw her over his shoulder. She squealed for him to put her down, but he carried her all the way down to the water.
Dylan was thrilled when Cameron had finally called him and mentioned that his parents had come around. Dylan, who hadn't spoken to Kelly in a few days, was excited to call her and tell her the news, but before he could dial, there was a knock on his door.
"Val." Dylan greeted as he opened it.
"I can see you tidied up." She said sarcastically, noticing the mess Dylan had created when searching for the ring.
"Always a pleasure, Val." He sighed.
"Well anyway..." She began, "Brenda told me to check on you, you know. Make sure you've got food in your fridge." She teased
"I got a hot date with a frozen burrito." He breathed out.
"...That's not the only reason I'm here." She sighed. Dylan turned to face her.
"What's wrong?" He asked, noticing her face fall. She headed into the living room.
"It's about Tommy." She finally said, "I need your help."
"Sure, what is it?" He asked, pulling her down to take a seat on the couch with him.
"I failed him." Valerie shook her head.
"Now come on..." Dylan soothed, "It happens. Kids are rebellious. James is rebellious. I mean, he's half me and half Brenda, he was bound to be." He tried to lighten the mood.
"No." She interjected, "This is more than that..." She paused, "Tommy's been struggling with this stuff for a while. Brandon, you know he was working all the time. When he got into politics, I knew how important reputation was. So I knew my job was to hide anything that could come out about me or our family. Tommy had nannies in an out, I wasn't very hands on. And now... he's dealing with the same stuff I did - the drugs, the drinking... And I don't have the tools to fix this. So I did what my parents used to do to me. I bribed him to stop, anything to keep it a secret. I knew I should have told Brandon, but he's you know, the boy scout. And his standards are so high, he doesn't understand that Tommy can't live up to that. No one can. And the pressure, it just made things worse. And as time passed, all I could think was, well it's too late to tell Brandon now. It's gone too far."
"Brandon was so busy picking up causes and fixing problems outside the house, he had no idea what was going on inside." Dylan sighed
"He knew there were problems, but he didn't know the magnitude of it, until just before he left for Minnesota. He thinks he did the right thing; the tough love approach but I don't know. He thinks it's so easy to stay on the straight and narrow. He doesn't understand." She cried
"Hey... It'll be okay." Dylan hugged her.
"...Could you talk to Tommy?" She pleaded, "He listens to you because you understand. You've been there."
"Tell you what." Dylan breathed out, "Why don't you guys come over for dinner tomorrow. Keep it casual, I'll talk to him then."
Once Tommy and Pamela got to the water, he threw her in and took a dip underwater himself. She swam up and playfully splashed him. He wrapped his hand around her waist and pulled her towards him. Holding onto her, he kissed her gently; his lips then remained hovered over hers as he looked into her eyes.
"You're kissing me because you want what you can't have." She said coyly, pushing him away
"That's not it." He drawled
"Yes it is. It's just a conquest to you." She insisted
"Not true." He pulled her towards him again, making her feel weak in the knees, "...Have dinner with me tonight."
"I can't." She shook her head anxiously
"Tomorrow night." He urged
"I'm busy." She said firmly
"Fine, after tomorrow. 7.30." He stared her down. She bit her lip.
"...Fine." She gave in. He wrapped his arms around her waist again, his hands cupped the small of her back, pulling her into him. He kissed her again - this time she surrendered to the kiss, her arms flailed about as she gave in. As he deepened it, she felt that sense of abandon, and knew there was no going back.
"Hello?" Kelly answered her phone
"Hi..." Dylan said on the other end
"Oh. Hi." She muttered
"Cameron called me." He stated
"He did?" She asked, surprised.
"How about dinner?" He quickly chimed in. "The three of us. After tomorrow."
"The lasagna was delicious, Val." Dylan said once he had cleaned his plate.
"Thanks." She smiled, "I'll get started on these dishes." She began piling the dishes.
Once she was in the kitchen, Dylan turned to Tommy. "I spoke to James this morning. Said Billy and Denise say hi."
"Yeah... he told me." Tommy nodded
"You must miss him. You two spend every Summer together." Dylan acknowledged. James felt a lump in his throat. Sure, he missed his cousin. But he felt guilty that he was enjoying the summer vacation.. with James' girlfriend.
"Yeah..." He drawled.
"Listen buddy..." Dylan began, "If you're alone and you want to talk, or you feel like taking the edge off. I'm here. You know that, you can call uncle Dylan at any time."
"Thanks." Tommy shot him an appreciative smile.
"Are you struggling?" Dylan observed him, "Because you know... I still feel a little wobbly sometimes."
"I'm okay. Really." Tommy assured, "But if I have one of those days... I'll let you know."
"Alright." Dylan patted him on the back, "But remember son, quick fixes don't last."
Tommy and Pamela sat down at this fancy restaurant. He was sharply dressed and she wore a sleek little black dress. She couldn't help but be impressed at how incredibly romantic the night was. She was definitely falling, and the lines had become so blurred.
"So tell me..." She began after they had dessert. "What's the point of all this?"
"Must we overanalyze every moment?" Tommy asked
"In our case, yes." She chuckled
"Why?" He leaned in, "You feel a moment's charm in your body, not in your head."
She smiled. "That's beautiful."
"I got that from Jimmy." He took a sip of his water. Once he had said James' name, the atmosphere changed. "Well, he's the reader."
"Right." Pamela rested her back on the chair, she began to fiddle with her fork.
He called for the check. She observed him. There was something about him. Something thrilling. It excited her. It can't have simply been the sneaking around. There was a genuine connection there.
"Come on," He said once he paid. "I'll take you home."
"No." She shook her head. He raised an eyebrow. "Let's enjoy the moment."
"So how did you meet?" Cameron asked as he, Dylan and Kelly ate.
"In kindergarten." Kelly answered
"Yeah..." Dylan turned to her and smiled. "It was my first day. My dad was late picking me up, so was her mum. She came over to sit beside me on the steps with her pink lunch box." He chuckled, "She pulled out a cookie, looked at me, and then split it in half." He paused, "I never forgot that."
"So you two have known each other forever." Cameron acknowledged.
"Something like that." Kelly said anxiously
"So were you in love? Was I just an accident?" He looked at both of them.
"No." Dylan replied, "You weren't an accident. There was always love there." He drawled, "We fell in love the summer of '92. And despite our problems... Any time Kel and I were together, there was... magic."
Kelly looked at the floor, hoping they didn't notice how affected she was by the conversation.
"So... if things were different, you wouldn't have given me up?" He asked
"Kelly wanted to give you the best. This was the best way she knew how."
"I get that. But it's hard, considering you both had children not long after... And you kept them."
"...It still haunts me. The day at the hospital." Kelly uttered quietly, "I don't think I would have given you a good enough life on my own."
"And you chose my parents because...?"
"Because they were warm and loving. They were down to earth and I knew... I knew they'd give you what you needed. A safe, stable home. They were so excited, they had been waiting for you for a long time."
Thomas and Pamela headed into his car and began to drive off. They passed by the beach to which Pamela replied, "Pull over here." He obliged
They stopped in a secluded area. He lit up a cigarette, "What a view." He whispered in between puffs.
"Yeah... The lights along the beach are incredible." She sighed
"I wasn't talking about the beach." He said. She turned to face him to find him already gazing at her. He then flicked his cigarette out the window.
"You are beautiful. Inside and out." He whispered. His hand reached out and cupped her chin. Leaning up, he pulled her towards him and kissed her.
She reciprocated the kiss, and before they knew it they sped up the pace. As their kisses got hungrier, he encouraged them to move to the backseat.
He pulled her onto his lap and wrapped his arms around her waist, he then swung her around until she was laying down. He slumped himself over her, and they made love.
Tommy drove Pamela up to her house. "What's my uncle's car doing here?"
"They're having dinner with Cameron." Pamela sighed
"Oh... damn." Tommy shook his head. She shrugged in response.
"Listen..." She began, turning to face him "I had a really great time."
"So did I." He said, as his hand cupped the back of her head, stroking her hair.
She leaned in and kissed him again.
"...Listen... I better go before anyone sees us." He said apologetically
"Yeah." She nodded.
Pamela headed into the house, noticing Dylan and her mother on the couch.
"Hi." She said, standing in front of them.
"Hi!" Dylan replied, "You look nice."
"Thanks." Pamela shot him a faint smile.
"How was your night?" Kelly asked
"Fine." Pamela nodded, "How was the dinner?"
"It was... It was good." Kelly smiled, "You just missed him."
"Hmm" Pamela's tone was monotone. "Okay, well... I'm gonna go up to bed."
"Oh. Okay, honey." Kelly nodded.
Thomas turned his car key and began to drive off. He drove passed Cameron who was in his car. Cameron watched him intently, he watched him park outside Kelly's house. He watched him drive off. And most notably, he watched him kiss Pamela.
"I should go too." Dylan said once Pamela went upstairs.
"...You don't have to." Kelly whispered, looking into his eyes, longing to hold onto this moment a little longer. Dylan's eyes narrowed onto her eyes, then her lips, and made their way down, admiring her in an elegant dress.
As his eyes fixated on her body, he finally breathed out, "Yeah I do."
He got up, finally taking his eyes off of her. He rubbed his hands threw his hair and made his way to the door. Kelly got up and followed him.
At the door, she reached out for his hand, "...I miss you." She couldn't help but let out it. Their fingers entwined as the both stood there.
"Kel..." His other hand reached up, and his fingers trailed down her neck to her collar bone. His eyes continued to gaze at her lips as they both involuntarily leaned in. He then closed his eyes, let go of her, and backed away. "I can't stay."
"Why not?" She uttered quietly
"...Because I don't trust myself." He looked down at the floor, and quickly opened the door and left.
And after all the boys and the girls that we've been through
Would you give it all up?
