Despite Vegas and all of it's attractions at their fingertips Carly, Harper and Freddie found themselves lounging across one of the beds in the girls shared hotel room passing around a bottle of vodka and grasping onto cans of soda.
They had tried their luck (and failed abysmally) at roulette in the casino and had come upstairs to hide after a somewhat embarrassing outburst from Carly who, spurred on from the mojito's she had been clutching all night, had insisted that the employee manning the table had it out for her and was purposefully making her lose.
"This stuff is disgusting" Carly groaned as she took a sip from the bottle and screwed up her face. "Seriously why do people drink this? I don't want to drink this! Let's go back downstairs to the bar and I'll get a cocktail"
"Oh! Yes! I'll grab a Pina Colada!" Freddie said, already rolling towards the edge of the bed so he could dash downstairs.
Harper sniggered at the man and his love for stereotypically girly drinks.
"What?" He defended, "drinks have no gender. You, of all people, should understand that."
"Oh I know, but it doesn't make you any cooler…"
Freddie rolled his eyes at Harper.
"We can head to the bar if you want, or we could make this a bit more interesting," Harper added, wiggling her eyebrows suggestively as she waved the bottle in the air. When neither Carly or Freddie moved to leave the room she took a sip from the bottle and kept talking, not pausing to chase the alcohol with the soda she had balanced on her lap.
"Let's play a game."
Freddie and Carly looked at each other, silently deciding if they wanted to follow Harper's suggestion. After a small nod from Freddie, Carly turned to Harper with her eyes squinted and head tilted.
"What did you have in mind?"
"Could be anything; truth or dare, drink while you think, paranoia, never have I ever…" Harper began rattling off options but was interrupted by Freddie who quickly jumped up, excitedly yelling.
"Oh my god, I haven't played that since high school."
"What, never have I ever?"
He nodded enthusiastically.
"Guess we play that then," Carly said as she side-eyed her best friend, trying to work out why he was so excited by the prospect of a stupid teenage drinking game.
"But if we're going to play such a high school game, we're going to do it with class." She skipped towards the mini bar and retrieved a chilled bottle of white wine, they had already had a bit to drink but she still had enough sense to know that playing with vodka would probably just lead to alcohol poisoning. Single mouthfuls of wine we're definitely a wiser choice than spirits.
They were all normally much more responsible when drinking, but they were in Vegas and had planned to let themselves get sloppier than usual.
She sat back down on the bed, leaning slightly against Freddie as she lost her balance. He grinned down at her as he took the bottle from her hands, opening it with ease. Harper took one last sip from the vodka before placing it on the bedside table.
"I'll go first," Harper said. "Never have I ever stalked an ex on social media."
Carly took the bottle from Freddie, tipping some of the wine down her throat and passed the bottle back to him so he could also drink.
"I don't believe you by the way," Carly said before taking a drink of her soda. "There's no way you haven't stalked an ex online."
"Nope!" Harper shrugged with a smug expression plastered on her face. "Stalked plenty of people before or during dating, never after."
Still holding onto the bottle Freddie spoke, "never have I ever had a crush on a friend's sibling."
"What about Melanie?" Carly demanded.
Freddie threw her an exasperated look. "Not this again," he muttered.
As the two began arguing over the existence of Sam's twin sister, Harper reached out and took the bottle from Freddie, taking a sip.
"Hang on," Freddie interrupted Carly, pointing at Harper. "I bet it's Spencer," he whispered conspiratively.
"Ew." Carly screwed up her face in disgust.
"I have plenty of friends that aren't you guys," Harper said.
Freddie grinned, "it's totally Spencer."
Carly shot both of her friends a glare before moving on with her own question, keen to change the topic. "Never have I ever, um, gotten a speeding ticket?"
Harper scoffed as she took another swig from the bottle "bit hard when you were driving that old bug around for years."
Freddie held his hand out expectantly, waiting for Harper to pass the bottle. "Please don't tell my mom," he groaned.
Freddie raised an eyebrow, waiting for Harper to ask her next question.
"Never have I ever… oh my god, all the fun questions I can think of are things that I've done! Oh, I know, never have I ever kissed a celebrity."
Carly enthusiastically snatched the bottle and drank happily, taking more than one mouthful of the wine. "Harry Styles before he was famous," she said dreamily.
Freddie rolled his eyes. "He was literally in One Direction at the time," he reminded her.
Carly shook her head seriously, "but he wasn't Harry Styles yet."
Deciding not to argue with her Freddie grinned wickedly, the perfect question popping into his head. "Never have I ever kissed a friend's ex." As he said it he looked at Carly, eyebrows raising expectantly.
Carly took another drink and wordlessly handed the bottle to Harper. Before Harper could even raise the bottle to her lips Carly stared at Freddie, her eyes narrowing.
"Oh, you wanna play dirty? I can play dirty! Never have I ever kissed an ex's friend."
Freddie nodded in acceptance.
"Touché," he said before taking another drink.
Harper's eyes darted from Carly to Freddie and back again. A smirk pulled at the side of her mouth as she decided to ask a question to encourage their banter further.
"Never have I ever had feelings for someone in this room."
Carly and Freddie both turned on her in unison, their jaws dropping in indignation.
"You can't do that!" Carly said, a little too loudly as Freddie nodded enthusiastically in agreement. "You already know the answer."
"Not how the game works," Harper shrugged. "Drink up, both of you."
After a quick sip Freddie turned on Harper, ready for his revenge.
"Oh, two can play at that game! Never have I ever had feelings for my boss."
Harper grabbed the bottle, accepting her fate without argument.
"Never have I ever released a song to raise awareness for my missing cousin." Carly practically sang.
"Now you're both ganging up on me!" Harper complained, taking another sip from the bottle before pausing, searching her mind for the perfect question to retaliate with.
A memory of a series of failed dates Freddie had endured late last year and a theory she had presented to a very defensive Carly at the time rose to the surface. Perhaps with the disappearing filters they were all enduring due to the alcohol streaming through their bodies she would finally be able to force a confession from Carly.
"Never have I ever conspired to break up my best friend's relationship."
Carly groaned, snatching the bottle from Harper and drank.
Harper stared at Carly, waiting for more of a reaction, for a confirmation, but before she got one Freddie's hand snaked its way over to the bottle and pried it from Carly's hands.
"Sorry," he whispered as he took a drink as well.

As we know, Carly and Freddie have been friends since the good ol' days when iCarly first made its debut way back in 2007.
All these years later, they've managed to keep their friendship alive and even started working together again when iCarly returned after a long hiatus.
The webcast returned in May last year and we have been living for Carly getting up to her old shenanigans with Freddie, as well as her brother Spencer and even her roommate Harper. (We still miss seeing Sam though!)
Just like the first time round, fans have been whispering and shipping Carly and Freddie together. But it seems as though the fans have finally gotten their wish!
stellaaa on Instagram just shared a photo from her bachelorette party last month after she noticed something very interesting in the background. The two web stars can be seen getting pretty ~ friendly ~ inside a Las Vegas hotel lobby.
Seems as though the two have been keeping things quiet, and we totally respect their desire for privacy, but it would be rude not to pass on our congratulations and well wishes to the couple.
Freddie: Um, have you seen this?
Freddie: instagram stellaaa/76935
Carly: What!?
Carly: no! I hadn't seen that
Carly: I don't even remember that
Freddie: yeah, me either
Freddie: do you think it's from before or after we got married?
Harper and Carly both turned to look at Freddie, confused.
"Sorry?" Carly asked. "Why are you apologizing?"
"Wes," he muttered, refusing to look her in the eyes.
Harper sat back, watching the interaction intensely. She hadn't considered what Freddie's answer may have been, she had only meant to tease at her roommates obviously repressed feelings.
"Wes and I broke up after Webicon, you couldn't have made all that happen."
"No," Freddie agreed, "but I did encourage you, and it wasn't because I thought it was the best thing for you. I also just…" he paused trying to decide what exactly had prompted his actions . "I just didn't really like the guy." He explained lamely.
Harper sniggered, doing nothing to hide the sound. For two supposedly platonic friends they were both way too interested in who the other was dating.
"You were jealous," Harper accused.
"No," Freddie spluttered, "no I wasn't."
"You totally were," Harped said as Freddie shook his head. "Oh my god, you are both ridiculous! Freddie, ask Carly why she drank."
Carly's eyes went wide as they both turned to look at her.
"Why'd you drink Carly?" Freddie asked slowly.
Carly blinked, her mind swirling, unable to properly analyze the situation and choose her words carefully.
"I may have discovered that if women met your mom before going out with you they would sabotage the dates themselves."
"Why'd you do that?"
"Well, any woman that's going to date you needs to get along with your mom." She suggested, although she didn't sound very confident in her reasoning.
"No, they need to be able to understand her and put up with the weird ways she cares for people… they don't have to befriend her…"
"Oh my god, how is this not as obvious to both of you as it is to me?" Harper groaned, getting sick of her friends looking truth in the eye and refusing to acknowledge it.
"Carly," she said, grabbing her friend's hands and waiting until she looked at her. Speaking directly into her soul. "You. Like. Freddie."
"What, no… he's my best friend."
"Who says you can't love your best friend?"
Carly went silent, her brain was slightly muddled and she was finding it more and more difficult to argue with Harper… loving your best friend sounded kind of, nice?
Frustrated with both of them, Harper rolled clumsily off the bed, landing much more gracefully than should have been possible. She meandered towards the bathroom.
"You both make me sick," she called over her shoulder as she locked the door behind her.
Carly was still silent, ignoring her roommate completely. Freddie was staring at her, watching her closely, his own mind tripping over the sudden revelations and realisations.
She looked back at him.
You couldn't ask them who leant in first, truthfully they didn't know but one moment they were friends, drunkenly confessing secrets over a drinking game and the next they were desperate animals. Pulling and pushing and clawing. It was messy and clumsy and oh so very great.
It was the alcohol, yep, it was totally the alcohol. It was making her feel relaxed and stupid and kissing anyone was fun, who cared if it was Freddie.
Except it was Freddie and that made it even better than fun, that made it exhilarating.
The sound of the toilet flushing and running water from the sink caused them to stop momentarily.
But then he caught sight of her again, her face flushed, lips swollen. She was like a drug, he was addicted and needed another hit. So he ignored the world around him and pulled her towards him again. His tongue diving into her mouth and exploring.
"Ugh, could you at least make out on Carly's bed?" Harper asked as she re-entered the room. Holding back a laugh as she discovered the two childhood friends locked in their clumsy display of affection.
When neither moved or made any acknowledgment to suggest that they had heard her she grabbed a pillow from the other bed and launched it at them, hitting them both across their joined faces.
"Get a room, go get married, do something more productive than tarnishing my sheets!"
Freddie pulled away from Carly, rubbing his check slightly where the pillow had hit him and glanced up at Harper guiltily.
As his mind caught up with the words she had said his mouth fell open into an 'oh' shape.
"I love weddings!" He declared, jumping up from the bed and pulling Carly with him.
"I really really love weddings."
"Oh my god you're drunk," Carly told him, giggling at his sudden enthusiasm.
"We're all drunk!" He reminded her as he pulled her across the room to Harper and wrapped his arms around both of them. "Doesn't change that I love weddings, I love them so much I've already had two!"
Harper watched him, part of her mind shouting that he was on the edge of a cliff and she should probably intervene. But the other part of her mind was too clouded to care.
"We should get married."
He said it so nonchalantly, as though he was suggesting they have pancakes for breakfast.
Dating? Or married? There's more to that iCarly Vegas photo than you realize.

By now you have probably all seen THAT photograph of Freddie Benson and Carly Shay making out in a Las Vegas hotel lobby - and if you haven't, relax, it was only posted late last night and you can see it here - but boy oh boy do we have more news for you!
Look, the devil works hard, but internet detectives work harder!
The couple have since been found in the background of a handful of other photos that were taken on the same night and with the help of some image brightening tools and the ability to zoom in nice and close a new detail has been found:
WEDDING RINGS!
Yes, you read that right.
Both of them can be seen with the tell-tale band sitting proudly on their fingers. (Although we do have to ask; Freddie, where's Ms Shay's engagement ring? Come on man!)
Ugh, I'd be lying if I said my inner 14 year old wasn't currently screaming. I used to watch every iCarly stream and always wondered if there was something going on behind the scenes between Freddie and either of the girls.
With this new detail I'm sure it's only a matter of time before the couple officially confirm what we now all already know.

Carly: some people have way to much time on their hands
Freddie: 😱
Freddie: do your fans work for the FBI?
"Noooooooo," Carly drawled, giggling slightly at the suggestion. "No no no. We can't get married, can we?"
She glanced at him, eyes flicking across his face as she took him in. He was buzzing, bouncing with excitement, grinning down at her with mischief glimmering in his eyes.
"Come on, it'll be fun! You like me, I like you and we're stuck spending the rest of our lives together regardless, let's make it official."
It was crazy, a stupid idea, nonsense.
But she couldn't deny his reasoning. She did like him. She really liked him. She couldn't really say when she had started thinking about him that way again because she had worked so hard to ignore it, to push it down, to not let it go anywhere. She had been certain that it was a bad idea. But right now it seemed like such a good idea.
Romantic movies always had characters going on about how special being in love with their best friend was. He was her best friend, her confidant, the person she relied on the most, that seemed pretty special.
And she knew that come morning she would feel scared all over again.
If they did this now there would be no backing out, they'd have to face their feelings again in the morning. It seemed like a genius idea actually. She could set a trap for her future self.
She reached out and grabbed his face, pulling his lips to hers and capturing him in a scorching kiss which made her whole body burn.
"Let's do it!" She agreed, pulling away but not letting him go.
"Vegas, baby!" Harper whooped.
Carly ran and grabbed the bottle of wine again, pulling Freddie with her. She raised the bottle in the air.
"To us!" She yelled before taking a large mouthful and passing it to Freddie. He copied her, raising the bottle and bringing it to his lips.
They were really doing this.
"Oh my god, you need a wedding planner!" Harper announced. Snatching the bottle from them and raising her own toast. "Can I be your wedding planner?"
They agreed instantly, every moment suddenly feeling energized and frenzied. They were keen to get the show on the road.
Harper fussed over the two of them, straightening their clothes and reapplying some of Carly's makeup.
She grabbed a vase which was sitting on the small table by the window and removed the cheap, plastic flowers, screwing her nose up slightly when she realized they weren't real. But she shrugged and handed them to Carly, insisting it was her bouquet.
Declaring that they were both suitable Harper pushed them out the door. They waited at the elevator and as it arrived and they walked into it all three friends burst into a fit of laughter.
They knew that what they were doing was ridiculous and stupid but they simply didn't care, it was fun and it felt so right.
Taking her role as wedding planner very seriously, Harper left the couple in the hotel lobby as she found a staff member and asked where the nearest wedding chapel was. When she returned she found them glued to one another again and had to clear her throat loudly before they separated.
"Oh!" She said, stopping suddenly as they walked towards the door on their journey to the wedding chapel down the road.
"You need a photographer, you can't get married without wedding photos"
"You have a phone," Freddie told her. "You just got promoted! Now you're our wedding planner and photographer."

People are really losing their minds over this whole iCarly thing! I'll never understand why people care so much about strangers' relationships. But who am I to judge? Especially when I can feed you! You are all going to want to hear this. 1/2

I know Harper (Carly's roommate) really well and she's shared some stuff with me. Carly and Freddie got married in Vegas and those photos doing the rounds are from their wedding night. Don't believe me? That's cool, I wouldn't either. But I am more than happy to share some VERY convincing proof. 2/2
Freddie: I have no idea who igotnewsforyou73 is or where they got their info
Freddie: but damn
Freddie: They definitely know something
Carly: Maybe they can tell us what happened that night
Freddie: hi, random stranger on the internet, could you please tell us about our wedding? Because we were too drunk to remember it!
Carly: haha
Carly: but seriously, should we be worried?
Freddie: those tweets did feel a bit threatening…
"Last chance, sure you don't want to pull out?" Freddie asked her as their names were called and they made their way into the small wedding chapel.
She shook her head, her eyes fixed on him. "No way!"
In all the excitement leading up to this moment she had been buzzing (probably from all the drinking she had been doing) but now she felt completely calm. She was at peace, determined. She was about to marry Freddie and she didn't think there was a single thing anyone could say or do to talk her out of it.
Harper followed behind them, her phone fixed on them, not wanting to miss a photographable moment.
Carly's phone chimed and she pulled it from her pocket. - Thank god for designers that put functional pockets in women's clothing. A snapchat notification told her that Harper had just sent her a video.
"Who even uses snapchat anymore?" She asked, opening the video of her and Freddie walking down the aisle, hand in hand.
Harper shrugged. "I wanted to make sure everything went straight to you guys, this way I don't have to worry about that later."
Freddie opened his mouth, ready to point out that an app designed for images to disappear probably wasn't the best choice, but the bored looking minister cleared his throat and looked pointedly at Carly, waiting for her to put her phone away.
"You ready to start?" He asked.
Carly turned the phone to silent and shoved it back into her pocket. She reached out, taking both of Freddie's hands in hers. He grinned at her.
The ceremony was short, quickly ensuring that all the important points were hit, papers were signed and rings exchanged. Within minutes they were pronounced husband and wife.
Carly was much too enthusiastic to kiss her new husband, somehow managing to trip over her own feet in the single step she needed to take to close the gap between them.
Freddie caught her in a joyful laugh, pressing his lips to hers briefly before pulling away, his mouth etched into the biggest smile she had ever seen.
The three only stopped once on their short walk back to the hotel. Carly insisted that she needed to throw her cheap plastic flowers over her head at a group of girls all wearing sashes with the words "bride tribe" printed across them who were walking behind them.
They settled at the bar, ordering a bottle of champagne to celebrate. At some point Harper disappeared, waggling her eyebrows at the two of them and making a point to highlight that she was giving them privacy.
When they finally made their way to Freddie's room they collapsed on the bed, exhausted and giddy.
iCarly stars tie the knot in private Las Vegas elopment.
19 July 2022
Carly Shay and Freddie Benson appear to have been married in a surprise ceremony at a Las Vegas chapel.
iCarly host Carly Shay and technical producer Freddie Benson have been working together for 15 years after they first launched their popular web show as middle school students in 2007.
They were in Vegas last month for a brief getaway with Shay's roommate Harper Bettencourt and images surfaced last night which showed them getting cozy in a hotel lobby.
Benson and Shay were pictured kissing in the background of a fan's photo and a source who claims to be close to Bettencourt created a Twitter account just to weigh in on the situation.
Via the account igotnewsforyou73 they announced that the three friends were in Vegas to celebrate the couple's marriage. That same source is reported to have sold Snapchat videos which back up their claims.
The leaked videos appear to have been captured by Bettencourt and show Benson and Shay exchanging vows at a Las Vegas chapel with a caption which reads "this is wild y'all!"
A second video shows the couple exchanging rings and further footage depicts the couple kissing at the alter to seal their union.
The marriage ceremony reportedly took place at Little Heaven Wedding Chapel late on Saturday the 18th of June with no one other than Bettencourt in attendance.
At the time of publication neither Shay nor Benson have publicly addressed the news.

Harper: Shit
Harper: I'm so sorry guys
Harper: I have no idea who leaked those videos
Harper: I didn't know I filmed any videos
Harper: I didn't even know I was at the wedding…
A/N: I hope this chapter was easy to follow, I wrote it to include "links" but fanfic dot net automatically deletes anything it thinks is a link… hopefully you could still tell what I was doing. This was a little different to my usual writing style, so I hope it was clear what was going on. I had so much fun writing this chapter!
Only 5 days until Christmas! I'm so excited! In 3 days I'm flying to my home city for the first time in 2 years (thanks COVID) and my parents - who moved overseas January 2019 - landed in Australia a few days ago and are down in my home city right now, I haven't seen them in 3 years (thanks COVID) so I'm super excited.
All that is to say I don't know what my uploading will be like over then next month. I'll be on holidays so maybe I'll have more time to write and upload like crazy, but I'll also be with family for the first time in years so maybe I won't write at all who knows!
Happy Holidays everyone 🎄
