Arriving at the gate to the school, the air of "fancy" continued to rain in.

"Another day, another opportunity to learn something...Oh who am I kidding, you're not gonna pay attention." Pip commented, before seeing some students come up to him.

"Oi! Adrian! Wanna go cardfighting after school?" A student asked, as Adrian didn't even stop walking past them.

"No." He told them, as the group of students seemed a bit upset, before hearing a voice call out.

"Adrian! You came to school today!" A girl called out happily, as Adrian turned around.

"Oh boy...The reason you're such an envy for the guys." Pip commented from his bag. "Reina Kumori..."

"How's my favorite bestie?" Reina asked, putting an arm around him and laughing. "Did the teachers try to yell at you to come to school today?" She asked.

"I suppose you could say that." Adrian admitted. "Still, I'm surprised you're early for once. Are they serving that special dessert today?" He asked.

"God, I wish!" Reina said, pouting. "But no, I gotta work on my theatre project early...It's gonna be amazing! You should come see it when it presents! It's a super fun play!"

"Er...I'll...think about it." Adrian said, awkwardly.

"Y'know what, that's a better answer than when we were kids, so I'll take it! See you after school, Ad!" Reina said, walking off happily.

"...That girl is so full of energy, it hurts." Adrian admitted, sweatdropping.

"Don't deny it, you've still got a soft spot for your childhood bestie. You didn't even outright say no to her event." Pip commented smugly.

"I'll shake the bag." Adrian threatened, before hearing the bell ring. "Ugh..." He said.

"I'd mock you for being tardy, but you'd just follow through on your threat." Pip remarked, as Adrian walked off, before overhearing students before turning the corner in the hallway.

"Didn't you hear?! Cipher struck again today!" A female student said to a dark blue haired girl with red eyes. "He was super cool, Nilam! You should've seen it!"

"I see..." The girl said, clearly awkwardly. "Still, we should be getting to class." She said.

"Yeah, yeah, or your dad's gonna throw a fit...See you after school, Nilam!" The other student said, running off.

"Man, every day, you're getting a lot more popular." Pip commented, before seeing Nilam approaching.

"...You aren't in uniform." She pointed out.

"So?" Adrian asked.

"I'd be a lot more tolerant of that if you didn't show up to school period on whatever whims you see fit..." Nilam said, before sighing. "Just go to class..." She said, walking past him.

"Yeesh. Not every day the principal's daughter scolds you...Oh wait. It's you." Pip commented, before Adrian finally walked into the classroom, sat in a corner seat, and started tinkering with a device. "Really? Now?"

"Not like I'll get the opportunity later." Adrian whispered while working on it, before seeing the screen light up from a news alert.

"We've come to you with a breaking news and warning! All users, stay outside of the Neo-Site! A group of hackers has taken one of the central servers hostage, and is currently seeping into the real world to-!" The announcer started, before the screen, and the power, went out, causing some students to panic.

"Everyone, calm down! I'm sure this power outage is unrelated, please stay in your seats!" The teacher said, as Adrian already ducked under his row seat, and decided to get out of the classroom.

Immediately, Adrian went into the boy's bathroom and went into a stall.

"Looks like Cipher's job is never done, huh?" Pip asked. "You can't even catch a break at school."

"I don't need a break." Adrian said, taking a device from his bag and attaching it to his Neo-Fight system. "I just need to step in." He said, before de-"materializing"...

Arriving at an "outskirts" in a digital town, Adrian landed, and looked around. "Looks like we're near the area on the news."

"Yup!" Pip agreed. "Make sure you're ready to take 'em down, Cipher!" He told him, as he looked through his deck, before nodding.

"I'm ready." He said, rushing forward.

"This server...And the district's power supply all belong to me!" A rather proud hacker said, with a rather large knight flying around behind them, practically intimidating onlookers, before seeing a dragon flying in. "Huh..?" They asked, before Adrian immediately leapt off the dragon and landed in front of them. "Who're you?!"

"Cipher..!" An onlooker said with a smile.

"Aw, boo, it's just some low level hacker scrub..." Pip whined.

"Low level?! Who're you calling low level?!" The hacker said, agitated.

"You!" Pip said, chirping innocently.

"Oh yeah?! Would a low level have THIS?!" They asked, holding out a strange glowing card.

"A skill card..?" An onlooker asked. "But wait..."

"...That's just the basic clan skill card." Adrian commented, as the hacker flinched.

"What, you have your own personal one?" The hacker asked.

"Of course he does! He's the infamous Cipher, after all! Now what'll it be? You gonna fight and make a fool outta yourself, or are you gonna leave the district alone?!" Pip taunted.

"Tch..! You're just some overexaggerated kid, I'm standing my ground!" They said, before holding their hand out, as the skill card started to glow, as Adrian took his own out. "Besides, with two skill users, We'll be able to fight even fuller!"

"Oh, boy, he's serious..." Pip said, before taking on a glow. "You know what to do, Cipher!" They said, flying up and then down, before forming into a glove on Adrian's left hand with a HUD on the back of it, as 5 cards manifested in front of him, as well as in front of the hacker.

"My legacy as a hacker starts here, the infamous Digi defeated the infamous Cipher!" The hacker declared, proudly.

"...Did he really just call himself "Digi" for "Digital"?" Pip asked from the display screen.

"Looks like it. Not very original." Adrian admitted.

"Shut up! Stand up, Vanguard!" They called out, as a small knight manifested. "Starting Legend, Ambrosius!"

"Royal Paladin...how original." Pip sarcastically commented.

"Enough, Pip." Adrian said, holding his hand out. "Stand up, my, Vanguard." he said, as a young girl with a staff appeared. "Astral Dragon Mage." he said.

"Dimension Police...Like you're any more originally, Mr. Hero!" Digi taunted.

"Are you going to take the first move, or not?" Adrian asked.

"With pleasure!" Digi said, grinning.
