Chapter 2: Toy Soldiers

One day, Liza Marie had just walked into school. When the Head of Security, Thomas Bailey, takes her to his office and she sees on the monitors everyone was in the cafeteria, along with thirty masked gunmen. Then she asks, "Did you contact 911 yet?"

Thomas continues watching the monitors as he remarks, "I tried that already and couldn't get through. Do you have your cell with you?" She doesn't answer him and calls Noah and Mike in a conference call before putting the phone on speaker. Noah is the only one that answers saying, "General Young is on the phone with the leader now Little She-Hulk. Papa Blaine called me when he saw Officer Bailey taking you to his office."

Then Thomas says, "Puck, there are thirty gunmen. I tried calling the cops but couldn't get through." As Thomas is on the phone with Noah, Liza Marie sees an air vent and asks, "Can I get to the cafeteria through that vent?" Thomas smiles then replies, "Hold on Puck I think Little She-Hulk has a plan." He soon opens the vent and explains, "This is the vent Troy used, two rights and a left." Then he uses her phone to text Noah his number before handing Liza Marie her phone back. Soon she starts singing Titanium as she ends the call.

(Liza Marie)

You shout it out

But I can't hear a word you say

I'm talking loud, not saying much

I'm criticized

But all your bullets ricochet

You shoot me down, but I get up

I'm bulletproof, nothing to lose

Fire away, fire away

Ricochet, you take your aim

Fire away, fire away

You shoot me down

But I won't fall, I am Titanium

You shoot me down

But I won't fall, I am Titanium

Cut me down

But it's you who'll have further to fall

Ghost town, and haunted love

Soon Thomas sees her kicking out a vent and landing on a guy. Then taking his gun and she shoots the other men as she was still singing.

Raise your voice

Sticks and stones may break my bones

I'm talking loud, not saying much

I'm bulletproof, nothing to lose

Fire away, fire away

Ricochet, you take your aim

Fire away, fire away

You shoot me down

But I won't fall, I am Titanium

You shoot me down

But I won't fall, I am Titanium

I am Titanium, I am Titanium

Stone-hard, machine gun

Firing at the ones who run, stone-hard

Those bulletproof gal-a-a-a-a-a-a-ass

You shoot me down

But I won't fall, I am Titanium

You shoot me down

But I won't fall, I am Titanium

You shoot me down

But I won't fall, I am Titanium

You shoot me down

But I won't fall, I am Titanium

I am Titanium

The hostages ran out as soon as six army trucks pulled up. Liza Marie was the last one out, and Noah saw she was limping as she held her left leg. She ended up passing out in his arms.

When she woke up in the I.C.U., she heard Kurt and Thomas yelling at each other before Noah says, "Hey! Cool it! We know Liza Marie is not Jodie Foster. Okay? Now, I'm about to visit her and check and see if she is awake. Do you two think you can stop biting each other's heads off long enough for me to do that?" Then she sees her left leg, is bandaged up, and sets up before Noah comes over to see her.

As Noah sat down next to her, she says, "I know, I know, I'm not titanium or bulletproof. What was I thinking? I should have had Officer Bailey call you! You risk your life every time you go overseas and I want to be like you when I grow up! I heard so many stories from you about what you did overseas. I want to be a hero like you. Okay?" Noah says nothing and just chuckles as Kurt freaks out again.

On the day Liza Marie was allowed to start back to school, this time, she was presented with a student of the year award. She was also made a junior security guard. Not long after this, Liza Marie was eating lunch at school. When the principal stood in front of her as fifty German soldiers came marching in. Liza Marie takes this opportunity to sneak out, and sees a ninth-grader, Charlie Young, the grandson of Mike's brother Joe, peeking out of a nearby bathroom.

Four more boys were in the bathroom when she hurried in. Bryan Hudson, Chris O'Neill, Chayce Brendan, and Troy's son Randy, also in ninth grade. Then Randy says, "There are guys at our school and the high school too. Your Uncle Puck is at the Junior high with General Young. Dad and the police are at the high school and we were the only ones that got out. The vent in this bathroom leads to the roof and the cafeteria. What do you want us to do?"

Looking at the boys, she asks, "Which one of you is on the track team?" Bryan smiles and says, "That would be me. Have you seen the movie Toy Soldiers?" Liza Marie smiles and says, "Let's give these assholes a day they won't forget." Then she has Bryan hoist her up before she yells, "Timber!" Before she and the boys start singing their own version of Timber by Pitbull.

[Liza Marie]

It's going down. I'm yelling timber

You better move, you better dance

Let's make a day, you won't remember

I'll be the one, you won't forget

[Charlie]

The bigger they are, the harder they fall

This big-iddy boys are dig-gidy dogs

I have 'em like dead on the floor as we're in this war, timber

Face down, booty up, timber

That's the way we like to, what? timber

I'm slicker than an oil spill

She says she'll win, and I bet she will. Timber.

Swing your partner round and round

End of the day, it's going down

One more shot, another round

End of the day, it's going down

Swing your partner round and round

End of the day, it's going down

One more shot, another round

End of the day, it's going down

[Liza Marie]

It's going down. I'm yelling timber

You better move, you better dance

Let's make a day, you won't remember

I'll be the one, you won't forget

It's going down. I'm yelling timber

You better move, you better dance

Let's make a day, you won't remember

I'll be the one, you won't forget

Bryan follows Liza Marie through the vent but heads to the roof as she heads to the cafeteria.

[Bryan]

Look up in the sky, it's a bird. It's a plane.

Nah, it's just me, ain't a damn thing changed

Living the best life, you don't even know me, homie.

We about to clown, why? 'cause it's about to go down

Swing your partner round and round

End of the day, it's going down

One more shot, another round

End of the day, it's going down

Swing your partner round and round

End of the day, it's going down

One more shot, another round

End of the day, it's going down

[Liza Marie]

It's going down. I'm yelling timber

You better move, you better dance

Let's make a day, you won't remember

I'll be the one, you won't forget

It's going down. I'm yelling timber

You better move, you better dance

Let's make a day, you won't remember

I'll be the one, you won't forget

As the other boys fought off the soldiers taking their guns. They would say Timber as they shot each guy they came upon. While Liza Marie falls onto the leader from a ceiling vent and knocks him out before shooting him in the head with his own gun.

Mr. Rockford, the principal, led everyone out as Liza Marie called Noah, hearing the phone ring as she exited the building. She sees the police, FBI, and Noah's army buddies looking at her in shock. Liza Marie looks at Mike and he says, "It took us three hours to get the other guys to surrender with no casualties, and it takes you and four ninth graders thirty minutes to take down fifty men. You! A five-year-old girl! I know, if Puck had not sent those boys to help you, it might have taken longer. Mind you, it was against my orders! " Christmas break was after that. Kurt wanted a peaceful holiday without any danger, so Liza Marie went to stay with Noah. Plus, he was mad at them both for the things she had done and couldn't look at her.
