Walk Alone - The Him
It is a quiet day in the Mugen Tenshin village and Kasumi is seated with Hayate having breakfast.
"Where is Ayane?" Kasumi asks. "I wonder if she would want to join us?"
"Don't you remember last night?" Hayate responds. "She will be heading out for that assignment."
"By herself?" Kasumi asks, surprised. "Isn't it going to be dangerous by herself?"
Hayate glances out the window toward the morning sun. "She will be fine," he says. "She has the skills and can look after herself."
Kasumi begins to feel worried for Ayane. "I won't allow this," she says and takes off to find Ayane.
Hayate tries to call after her but Kasumi has vanished. "I guess I can feel better knowing they can watch each other's backs."
Kasumi catches up with Ayane just as she is making her way to the front. She calls out and Ayane comes to a stop when she hears her name.
"Kasumi?" she asks as she turns around.
The amber haired girl runs over and takes Ayane's hand. "You were just going to leave by yourself?"
"Well Hayate said that I would be fine," Ayane answers. "He told me…"
"No way!" Kasumi stammers. "Sorry," she apologizes as she pulls away. "I won't allow you to do this by yourself. I am going with you. It would make me feel better."
Ayane stares at her for a long moment and finally gives her a small smile. "Thank you Kasumi."
"Of course," she responds. "Now let's get going. The two of us can handle this together."
"Yes," Ayane says as they continue on. "Together."
