Chapter 5: Adventures In Gormott

The 5 head their way into the Gormott Province and they're met by a very good looking view of the land.

Pyra: Oh my goodness, what a wonderful view.

Azurda: Quite Spectacular.

Serena: Complete agreement there, and this place looks so huge too.

Nia: That place over there is Torigoth, the largest city in Gormott. I'll accompany you as far as the city. After that you're on your own.

Serena: Really? If anything Nia, me and Pyra would appreciate it if you join us.

Pyra: I agree, the more the merrier after all.

Nia: I appreciate that, but I can't be seen with the two of you.

Serena: Is it because of those guys?

Nia: While I didn't stay for too long with them, they're still my crew.

Serena: Your crew? They literally tried to kill you after you helped us.

Nia: Even so, they're the closest thing I have to a family.

Both Serena and Pyra were saddened about that, but decided to not talk about it. They just kept moving on and luckily the monsters didn't bother them, aside from a few exceptions but hey practice was practice. With that being said, the team finally made it to Torigoth and witnessed a man fail at awakening a core crystal.

Serena: Hey Gramps, you don't think that happened to Xander do you?

Serena said that with concern in her voice so for the time being Azurda will hold back the teasing, however this got curious looks from both Pyra and Nia.

Azurda: I obviously hope not, but I trust in that guy's aptitude. So you most likely don't have to worry about him.

Before Pyra and Nia got to ask Serena and Azurda who this Xander guy was, another Gormotti who looked to be in his late teens attempted to bond with the core. Serena watched with concern but was relieved when the process ended up in success for him. With that being said, the crew journeyed on with Pyra and the others explaining how Blade Resonance works to Serena, that is until they were interrupted.

Azurda: Ardanian Troops? Doesn't look like they're here to just talk.

Nia: Damn it.

Serena: What do you people want?

Padraig: The gormotti driver next to you, she's a member of Torna.

Serena: Torna? You're wrong she's…

Padraig: There's no doubt about it, she even has the white beast blade. She looks just like the wanted poster.

Serena: Wanted Poster?

Padraig: See for yourself.

Padraig reveals the wanted poster, Nia looks annoyed but both Pyra and Serena are confused.

Serena: I admit it's a good drawing, but her face is completely wrong.

Nia: Exactly, thank you Serena! At least someone here has some sense!

Padraig: *Scoff* The one with the black hair. You look like a driver, Registration Number?

Serena: NS-12012017?

Padraig: Don't play dumb with us! Men capture the illegal driver and the member of Torna!

Nia: Serena, take Pyra and get out of here.

Serena: No way, I'm not about to just abandon you here.

Nia: This is my problem and you don't need to get involved.

Serena: I'm pretty sure he wants to arrest all of us, so this is our problem.

Nia: Wow, didn't peg you for the stubborn type.

Serena: Expect the unexpected.

Nia: Well then, put those new skills to the test and take down the ones in front of you so we can escape.

Serena: Sounds like a plan.

Pyra: Ready when you are.

With that the team fought back against the soldiers, it wasn't particularly difficult for them until a wall of blue flame appeared right before they attempted to escape.

Serena: What the …?

Brighid: What is with the noise here? I was just having a nice walk and then this started happening.

Padraig: Lady Brighid?!

Serena: Brighid? You're a blade aren't you? Then, where's your driver?

Brighid: My driver is occupied with another matter currently. I am more than enough alone.

Serena: A blade … fighting by herself?

Their battle commences and it's clear that Brighid had the upper hand as she neutralized Pyra's attacks.

Serena: Damn, she's completely countering every attack we launch.

Pyra: She's so … Strong.

Azurda: And this is without her driver.

Nia: Stop your yammering and just get her!

As Nia and Dromarch launched themselves towards Brighid, they ended up getting caught in Ether nets. However, fortune strikes Serena as an unknown object hits the water pipe, giving herself and Pyra an opening to escape. While running Serena says this in her mind…

Serena: Mark my words Nia, I'm coming back for you! Pyra, We probably would be better off hiding somewhere, those soldiers strike me as the persistent types.

Pyra: I agree with you, but where are we going to hide? I don't see a good …

Tora: Hey!

*The girls stop running and turn around to see a nopon*

Tora: This way friends, this way. Tora help you escape.

The girls look at each-other and nod, and quickly run towards the nopon and into the room. They wait a couple of seconds to hear the soldiers' footsteps until they vanish completely. Finally with a chance to breathe, Serena can talk to her fuzzy savior.

Serena: Thanks for the save, but can I ask why you did that?

Tora: No reason.

Serena: Really?

Tora: Sorry, that not true. Truth is Tora not like those big bully soldiers. Was thinking about using new boom bitter on them.

Serena: Ah, so you're the one who shot the pipe. You said your name is Tora right? I'm Serena, and this is my partner Pyra.

Pyra: It's lovely to meet you Tora.

Tora: Good to meeting. Actually Tora have other reason for saving you.

Serena: Which is?

Tora: Tora explain when we get to house. This way.

The trio head down to see Tora's actual house and Tora continues the conversation.

Tora: So anyway um Ser-Ser.

Serena: Ser-Ser?

Tora: Ser-Ser, Tora save you because Tora always wanted to make Driver friends.

Serena: I see, you're interested in Drivers.

Tora: Of course. Tora think it amazing that Driver and Blade come together to make big power. Tora want to be sidekick of Ser-Ser.

Serena: Um Tora… you know my name is Serena not Ser-Ser right?

Tora: What is point?

Serena: Well … I don't know. I guess it just caught me off guard.

Tora: Tora is using double name to show respect, Ser-Ser should be proud.

Serena: I don't know if I deser… Alright fine you can call me Ser-Ser if it makes you happy. But instead of sidekick...

Serena gets on her knees so she can be at eye level with Tora.

Serena: …Can all three of us just be friends?

Tora: Really? Tora get to be friends with Ser-Ser, Yippee!

Serena: *Giggles* What a funny little furball. Oh by the way Tora, do you know where the army keeps their prisoners?

Pyra: Serena, are you planning to…

Serena: Save Nia and Dromarch, yes I am.

Azurda: Saw that coming a mile away.

Tora: That was the Driver and Blade that was with Ser-Ser yes?

Serena: Mhm.

Tora: Meh Meh, Tora will need to ask around the town for info like that. But first, it food time. Running around made Tora really hungry, friends are probably hungry too.

Azurda: He brings up a good point, I am feeling a little peckish myself.

Serena: Can food come later, I would like to save Nia as…

Before Serena could even finish that sentence, her stomach growled loudly causing not only her to clench it but also her face to blush from embarrassment.

Tora: Ser-Ser's stomach tell different story.

Azurda: *Laughing* There's that signature appetite for your's.

Serena: *Sheepishly* Okay fine, I want something to eat too.

Pyra: In that case, I can cook something for all of you.

Serena: You can cook Pyra? You must be confident if you're asking in the first place.

Pyra: *Giggles* Well as long as fire is involved I can do almost anything. Although, you might want to find someone else if you want Ice Cream though.

Serena: Well everyone has their limits I guess.

Pyra: Tora, do you have any ingredients I can work with?

Tora: Just what is in the pantry over there. Tora sorry if it not much.

Azurda: It's probably not the smartest idea to go outside and buy supplies. We'll just have to make do with what we have.

Serena: Then I guess that's your cue Pyra.

Pyra: Right, now let's see here … hmm … Yeah, overall everything here looks really solid.

Tora: Tora is not good at cooking, so all food here can be eaten without cooking.

Serena: Fair enough, especially if you don't have the gold to buy cooked food often.

Tora: Can Ser-Ser cook as well?

Serena: I haven't actually cooked in a while, so I probably wouldn't be the best girl to ask.

Azurda: You usually buy your food, perhaps due to your schedule. But when Serena does cook, I would say she's decent.

Serena: Thanks for the compliment Gramps, but I'm going to let Pyra do her thing. I wanna see how good you are Pyra. Speaking of which, what can you make with these ingredients?

Pyra: First, I look forward to impressing you. Second, with these I can make some plates of Glitterbake for all of us, and it wont take that long.

Serena: Alright then, just let us know if you need any help.

A few minutes pass and Pyra is done cooking and set's down 4 plates on the table.

Tora: Wow, this looks really yummy.

Serena: First impressions are really good. Alright then, moment of truth.

Serena was the one who tried the food first, and the second Azurda and Tora saw the look on her face, they began eating as well.

Serena: Oh Wow, this is amazing. Consider my expectations exceeded.

Tora: Yum-Yummy, so very tasty.

Azurda: Truly exquisite. I haven't eaten this well in about 120 years.

Pyra: I'm glad you liked it. I was a little worried that I'd gotten rusty over the years. But it seems like I did alright.

Serena: My respect for you has increased, Pyra this is really good.

During their chow time, Tora questions Pyra's ability to still use her fire power even when in water. After all, Fire Blades are weak against water. This causes Pyra to become really uncomfortable and Serena ends that conversation before it can get worse.

Serena: Enough Tora, you're clearly making Pyra uncomfortable.

Tora: Tora apologize, that was not my intention.

Serena: Everyone has things they rather not talk about, that's only natural.

Serena looks at Pyra and gives her a reassuring smile.

Pyra: I'm sorry, I'm sure I'll be able to tell you about it soon enough.

Serena: Don't beat yourself because of that, now then we need to plan on how we can rescue Nia.

Tora: First, we go around town and find information.

Azurda: But we do need to be careful, except for Tora since we're all wanted criminals. No offense Pyra, but you stick out like a sore thumb.

Pyra: I'm so sorry.

Tora: Don't worry friends, Tora has an idea.

With that Tora walks out the room for a few minutes leaving Serena and Pyra to wonder what the little guy was up to. When he came back he gave Pyra a cloak that had a resemblance to a Gormotti. Curious Pyra decided to put it on.

Pyra: This … might actually work.

Serena: I'm not gonna lie, you look really adorable in that Pyra.

Pyra: Aw, thank you Serena.

Tora: Time to search for Ser-Ser's friends.
