Chapter 12: Anxiety cure.

Today one of the Tokiwadai dorm has crowded with so many people. That's right, today was the day when an event of Tokiwadai mid-summer festival has started every once a year.

Uiharu, Ruiko, Kotaru, and Index standing in front of the dorm, patiently waiting for the remaining friends that hasn't showed up yet. While they're waiting, Index noticed that Kotaru's parent's isn't with him, so she asked, "Hey Kotaru, why your parents aren't with you?"

Kotaru looked at index and eventually replied, "Both of my parents were busy today. They told me that they were trying to create an improved system scan in order to made my level increased."

Ruiko was confused, "Why did your parents decide to work on that instead of taking a break visit the festival on the tokiwadai dorm?" She know that both of his parents were a hardworking acientist, but decide to work rather than taking a break might be too far.

Uiharu was thinking similar with ruiko and also asked, "Yeah, why don't your parents at least decide to having fun here?"

Kotaru put his right hand on his sides and his left hand on his chin and answered, "Because of my contribution for their work, they decide to gift me a special system scan that finally measure my true level instead of being an unique level 0."

Then Ruiko become excited when hearing the news. With her happy expression, she immediately asked, "Hey can i also joined as well? Since i have a vision like you, that means my level would increased as well right?"

Kotaru then got reminded that Ruiko still count as a level 0 just like him, "Well, of course you can, it's reasonable for you to come along since you're just like me, a level 0."

Ruiko excitedly punch the air upwards as she cheered, "Woohoooo, i'm not gonna be a level 0 anymore."

Uiharu get excited as well, because she was relieved that Saten might gonna get her level increased.

And just in time, Touma, Aether, Hondo, Paimon, and Amber has finally arrived with their friends.

Touma apollogeticly said, "Sorry we're late guys."

Index wasn't happy with how long it took Touma to be here and asked, "Touma, what took you so long?"

Aether the first one to explained, "Sorry Index, all of us had to fight against some thugs that interfere us to get here."

Amber also added, "That's true, there were so many thugs on the way, but we're fine."

Paimon then boasted, "They were no match for us after all."

Touma then reminded with looking at Hondo, "But still, don't you think you went overboard against them Kowada? You just made them get injured so bad." Indeed, when Hondo fight the thugs, he beat them up so hard with his geo powers which Touma assumed that most of them have gotten injured.

Hondo then shrugged , "Hey don't blame me, blame the people who decide to ganging up on me instead of running away."

Kotaru then try to change the topic and told them, "Alright guys, at least everyone is safe now, and i think it's the best time to get inside don't u guys think?"

Seeing the time, everyone decide to agree with him and entered the building. After getting through anti skill and show the invitation, they met Mikoto and Kuroko having an usual antics between both of them and they don't need to think for so long about what happened right now.

As they getting closer, Paimon commented, "Man, Kuroko getting perverted around Mikoto again?"

Aether then answered, "Just like the usual routine."

Touma also quipped, "It looks like you're having so much fun don't you think, Biri-Biri?"

Realised her friends has arrived, she immediately stopped phinching Kuroko and looked at them with a stiff laugh.

Uiharu excitedly gush with her happy expression, "Thanks a lot for inviting us Shirai-san, it was a honor that we're able to joined the tokiwadai festival this year."

Shirai then happily said, "No problem at all, We have prepared something really special that made your expectation goes really high. Let me take you on a tour."

A voice then interrupted, "Hold up there."

When everyone looked where the voice was coming from, they met with a maid that was no older than any of the girls in the group. She was wearing a western type maid uniform consisting of a purple dress with a white apron and headdress. She had black hair with a slight blue tint and eyes of the same color. The maid stood proudly and confidently, yet also gave off a casual aura.

The maid then asked, "Shirai, what about helping us at the kitchen?"

Shirai then replied wearily, "Oops, i forgot about it."

Uiharu has a question but she only could said, "Umm..."

Misaka introduced the maid, "Everyone, this is Tsuchimikado Maika from Ryouran Girls Housekeeping School. She and her classmate are helping out the festival this year. And they also overseeing the food here."

Uiharu then repeated before she asked, "Ryouran? A school that was specialized on teaching housekeepers?"

Uiharu also realised, "Wait a minute, why does tsuchimikado sounds familiar?"

Maika immediately know why she felt familiar and said, "Ahh, i see that you have met my stepbrother, Tsuchimikado Motoharu. I guess it's no suprise since you have become friends with Kamjiou."

Saten then asked in disbelieve, "Wait you're his stepsister and you're a maid?"

Maika in a proud tone answered, "Yep that's right. And i'm so lucky to have him as my brother and also he's the one who has suggested me to be ome a maid."

Uiharu then asked Touma in worried, "Kamijou-senpai, are you sure that it's ok for her brother suggested her to become a maid?"

Touma shrugged, "Well, i think it's okay considered that Maika loved to become a maid so i guess it's okay."

Ruiko uncomfortably admitted, "Man, it feels so weird not gonna lie."

Aether agree with Ruiko, "That's true, and that kinda reminds me that one time i saw her riding on top of a cleaning robots and it become a mystery how did she able to control them and not get dizzy when riding them."

Misaka then introduced her friends to her, "So tsuchimikado Maika, these are my friends Uiharu, Saten, Hikari, Kowada, Aether, Paimon, Amber, and index."

Uiharu, Saten, Kotaru, Amber, Paimon, Aether, and Hondo greeted with a smile, "Nice to meet you."

However, index greeted different than the others, "Hello again Maika." Everyone got suprised because they didn't know that Index have met Maika already.

Maika then explained, "One day she wanna play with Kamijou since she's bored on her dorm room alone so she decide to visit him but he didn't answer, good thing that i'm arrived at that time so i could accompany her since my brother's room was beside Kamijou's room."

Maika then told them, "Anyway, if you guys need anything, just give me a shout okay?" She began to dragging Kuroko by her collar, leaving the group with the group watch with a stiff laugh on their faces as Kuroko protested. Since Kuroko wasn't able to give them a tour, Mikoto was the one to take the group into a tour instead.

After Mikoto gave the group the event pamphlet, suddenly Uiharu demanded to see everything that this festival offered. This sudden change made everyone palled show up on their face. Paimon and Index got scared by her sudden change so they hide behind Touma and Aether. Even Touma began to think that something like magic must have changed her just now. But for Kotaru and Ruiko, it wqs supposed like a true personality that got limited by the limiter in order to keep in check her personality.

After Mikoto have explained everything, she concluded, "That's everything that this festival will offer. If anyone got a question, just ask me."

Aether scratching his back hair as he asked, "I was wondering something, does the maid clothes even necessary?"

Touma also added, "Don't you think it's a bit too much?"

Mikoto whined as she muttered, "I wish you didn't pointed that out aether-san, but i agree with this idiot about it."

Touma tried to apologize with a weak reply, "I gotta say, it looks good on you though."

Mikoto blushed when she heard him, she said to him, "Thank you, anyway we better get to the tour cuz there's a lot to cover."

And with that, the group has started their tour. On the first stop, they toured a room full of sugar statue. Uiharu started to admiring the elite student work along with Saten decide to test it out a little bit to make sure it's made of sugar and confirmed once she finally tasted it. Hearing that it's made of sugar, Amber got a certain urge to test it a little as well and pleased with how it was made with sugar, but both of them got reprimanded by Uiharu because both of them eating the statue casually, but Uiharu got more distracted by both the hungry nun and the hungry mascot trying to eat the whole statue with Touma, Kotaru, Hondo, and Aether struggling to hold them from eating the statue. But soon the boys got saved with Misaka giving several mini sugar statue that was given by some girls that offered her some sugar statue.

On the next stop, they represented a gallery that presented a various stitchingnpieces done by the student of Tokiwadai. The group has a chance to do some stitching given for guests. As everyone doing the stitching, everyone is trying their best even though some of them ended up a failure. For Touma himself, his finger got stabbed by needles due to his bad luck (SUCH MISFORTUNE!) While Index still able to do it even though it looks so bad along with paimon tried to made a sweet madame stirch but failed. As For Uiharu, she put her heart on it and manage to create a simple and beautiful sun flower, but when she tried to show it to the others, she was stunned to see the others work with Kotaru's vision, Hondo's kendo sword, Experienced Saten's Sport car, Amber gorgeous baron bunny, Aether's funny derpy paimon appearance and lastly Mikoto's Tuxedo Gekota.

After the group has finished their tour after looking at the last remaining exhibits, they arrived at the middle of the hallway and Uiharu stand and leaning on the side of the window and started to let out speeches and platitudes and elevating the student elite fantasies even more because for Uiharu, it was a dream become true and it become so bad every few second, so in order to stop her, Kotaru and Ruiko worked together with flipping Uiharu skirt in the middle of the hallway.

This sudden action made everyone stunned especialy Touma, he flatly admitted, "Okay, i expect for Saten flipped her skirt, but i didn't expected that Hikari helped her out."

Index also added, "I was wondering why she kept doing that so often."

Uiharu yelled in embarrasment as she asked her two friends, "Just what both of you think you're doing."

Both Ruiko and Kotaru told her in relieve, "Welcome back, Uiharu." Ruiko then told her, "You're dreamy so much and decide to wake you up."

Kotaru added, "And that only works with both of us decided to flip your skirt."

Uiharu continue with her yell, "What do you mean by coming back, and why Kamijou-senpai and the others are fine with it, And why did you pull out a camera Aether-san?!"

Touma just casually answered, "It happen almost everytime so it's nothing suprising anymore."

Index agreed with Touma and also told her, "I already have an archive list of all your panties on my memories."

Aether put his feee hand behind his head and gave her a reply, "W-well, i thought it might be a good thing for preserve a memory."

Amber and Paimon only could stiffly laughed with the commotion, and suddenly they looked at Mikoto who helping out other students with their apron. Adter she finished that up, the younger girls say thanks to her, and somehow Touma noticed that something made her body stiffen with the other girl words.

Since it's already 12pm, Mikoto offered her friends to have a lunch now.

The group arrived at the dining hall with a table full of buffet with various food that could be selected for the guests to pick.

When Uiharu looked at the buffet with her stary eyes, she excitedly saying, "That's it, i'm gonna move here!"

Mikoto decide to look for the seat, so she excused them, "Guys, i'm gonna look for the seat." With that, Mikoto proceed to look for the seat.

After Mikoto left, Uiharu noticed that Ruiko is having a trouble on picking up the good looking cake in front of them, but Uiharu immediately cut the cake with the knife which made Ruiko looked in horror when Uiharu cut the cake.

Ruiko with a suprised expression on her face ask her, "Why did you cut such a well made cake?"

Uiharu replied with her continued to pick up the cutted cake, "I don't wanna hear that who has eaten a sugar made statue."

Ruiko looked at Uiharu and ask her away, "how come you think you can even ate all those cakes though?"

Uiharu just argued, "they say sweet food has their own stomach after all."

The boys, paimon and Amber walked closer to the two girls with the food on their hands as Aether replied at Uiharu's statement, "I don't think that statement is true Uiharu."

The middle schooler girls in response ask them, "Why's that?"

The boys, Paimon, and Amber point their fingers towards the table with two anti skill and so many plates on their table. They saw Tessou bloated her stomach and Yomikawa not amused with the situation. Soon, Yomikawa dragged her friend, Tessou leaving the dining hall.

After seeing enough, Uiharu put all the cakes back to where it belongs. After that, Tpuma chuckled at the scene as he mused, "Not gonna lie, it's funny with how you suddenly act after you saw the scene."

Paimon looked around and they spotted where Mikoto was and saw that the children from the asurano park was there as well so she told everyone where Mikoto was. When they get closer, they heard about Mikoto performing on the festival and Touma and Aether noticed that she looked quite depressed, but both of them decode to stay quiet for the time being.

As the group get closer, Uiharu and Ruiko got excited and cannot wait to saw Mikoto show her performance, and Mikoto get more nervous about it, but she got saved when Maika called out for her.

Maika with both of her hands holding the food, she asked Mikoto, "Misaka, have you seen Shirai?"

Mikoto kinda suprised that she trying to find Kuroko and told her, "I thought that you dragged her to the kitchen."

Maika then explained to Mikoto, "She's gone from the kitchen and i think she's running away. We kinda need help because there's a guest that is a heavy eater so we're having some problem here."

Touma eyes widened as he realised that someone's missing from the group, he looked around and ask, "Wait, where's index?"

Everyone realised that Index wasn't with them and Kotaru cursed, "Oh crap, i think we accidentally left her on the buffet."

Touma looked at Maika and ask, "Maika, where's index now?"

Maika told Touma, "She's at the other end of the dining hall right now."

After Touma put down his food on the table, he requested Maika, "Pleas show me where she is right now."

Maika gave him a nod, "Okay then, follow me."

Maika then bring Touma with her and before she left, she told Misaka, "Good luck for the festival performance Misaka, i'm looking foward to see it."

After that, Maika and Touma run in a full speed trying to find index and stop her from eating too many food.

After a few minutes later, Touma finally arrived again with index together back with the group and continue with Touma having his lunch with his friends.

After they finished their lunch, it's already 1.10 PM. Everyone has enjoyed their meals in the afternoon and walked along the corridors. Along the way, Mikoto excused herself for going to the toilet, but the younger girls noticed that something's off about Misaka just now but don't know what it is.

And then the grpup kinda get into the attention outside the hall. When the group looked out from window, and they saw that an auction is happening here. Amber and paimon didn't know what auction was, but Aether went to explain since he has hangout with ningguang the other time. Saten suddenly got suprised when she's looking outside, and it turns out that Konori was the one who participate on the auction which also suprised Kotaru, Uiharu, Touma, and Index.

When they spotted Konori, Ruiko called her, "Konori-senpai."

Konori was suprised with the familiar sounds coming from the right, and when she turned to the right, she said in suprise, "Y-you guys..."

Ruiko also continued teasing her, "You also tried to be fashionable i see."

When Konori confused by Ruiko's statement, she realised that she accidentally show a good design of bags folded by her arms. And then she tried to make an excuse, "I-i didn't always get attracted to get these things! This is just for a donation for the child out in this country so as a judgement member, i also must participated."

Touma then teased her, "We already know you're trying to make an excuse about it. Besides, everyone has their own taste like biri-biri with her gekota obsession."

Somewhere inside the dorm, Mikoto just sneezed out of nowhere and she can immediately guessed, "That idiot must be badmouthing me."

Konori tried to shrugged as she tol them, "Oh yeah, how about you guys also joined as well?"

Ruiko then declined, "That's impossible, me, Kamijou-san, and Uiharu have a small amount of money while Kotaru-kun, Aether-san and Amber-san might be able to join."

Konori felt like she heard that name before, and muttered, "Aether... Why does that name looks familiar..." Her eyes widened when she remembered who Aether was, "Wait, you mran Aether as the newest rank 8th level 5 esper?!"

Aether put his hands in front of his chest as he introduced, "Yep, that's me Konori, it's nice to meet you."

Konori excitedly told him, "It's a honor to meet you, Aether-san, and man you looked like you're the same age as me and i'm not gonna lie i thought that you looked like around 20's."

She then got reminded, "Oh yeah, you don't need to worry about spending the moneys in this one."

As she said that, the host then started the auction again with the next item, a notebook with the writing tools of Kiriguma started from 100 yen and people keep counting with how many yens increase each time.

Konori told them, "See, i told you it would be fine."

Seeing this, Uiharu decide to participate as well, she began to raise her hand as she said, "You're right, well then." As she about to told how many yen she was about to say, someone fastly said, "10000 YEN!"

This made everyone got quiet for how high the money was and Kotaru could only said in suprised, "What in the actual fuck?!"

Hondo admittedly said out loud, "That's... So many money wasted for such a writing tools."

When they saw who was walking to get the prize, everyone suprisingly yelled, "SHIRAI?!" "KUROKO?!"

And then Kuroko joined up with her friends, Uiharu told her, "Shirai-san, tsuchimikado-san is looking for you."

Ruiko then mused, "So the reason you ran away from the kitchen just to get a set of writing tools with 10000 yen."

Kuroko then declined, "No, this isn't just a normal writing set, because this was a donation from Onee-sama herself so a part of this writing set has a part of Onee-sama herself." With that, she become a pervert as usual.

Uiharu then said, "So it's from Misaka-san.."

Kotaru, Hondo, and Touma sighed as they flatly said, "Of course..."

Konori noticed that Misaka wasn't with them, so Konori asked, "Ah, speaking of Misaka-san, where is she right now?"

Uiharu tried to answer, "Well, she-"

"Good afternoon everyone." A voice cut off Uiharu talk.

When they looked at who's calling them, it was three girls with one of them wore a miko clothes.

Kuroko then called her, "Kongou Mitsuko, what in the world are you wearing?"

Kongou then explained to them, "Ara, it's embarrasing. I'm here wearing this clothes to show you how to become a householder. Ah, so kind and benevolent." She then spun as she told them, "So watch every sides of it. This is a special clothes that's made of english and japanese variant especially made for today's festival."

"A clothes that was made from english and japanese variant into one?" Kuroko repeated.

"You're wrong Shirai," Kongou interjected, "Tried to say, welcome miss."

Kuroko then asked, "Why the hell i should say that?"

She then make fun of her, "You can't? Godness, you don't have any politeness at all qith that clothes." Everyone just staring at them from the sidelines with their uncanny expression.

Kuroko replied her, "I'm sorry, but i'm not that fan of something like that." She then get an idea what to do and ask her, "Could you show me how to do it?" While she asked her, Konori checked out the bag she has gathered in one place while Kotaru, Paimon, Aether, and Amber talked together just for not getting bored while Hondo talked with Touma about his first meeting with Kotaru.

Kongou just proceed to accepted her request without thinking through. After Kongou ask what Kuroko needs, Kuroko ask Kongou to pick up some water.

After Kongou has gone, Kuroko muttered, "Good thing that girl could be fooled."

The other two girls get closer and greeted, "Good afternoon everyone, it's been a while."

Kuroko talked to them, "You two really unlucky to be dragged by someone like her."

The brown haired girl giggle before she said, "She's not a bad person, actually today.."

The purple shade black hair girl finished the sentence, "Kongou-san invite us here, she's looking foward to this festival, so she want us to come here. Anyway..." She looked around and saw Some people that she didn't recognized, "Are these people also with you as well?"

Ruiko then explained to the two girls that they're their friends with Kotaru Hikari being the famous Elemental Burst of judgement. And then Aether proceed to introduced himself as a traveler and as the 8th rank level 5 continued with introducing his friends Amber and Paimon. Aether also not to forget adding the emergency food kept in check just for the fun. Touma also got introduced as well with everyone told them that he's the unluckiest guy in the group and lastly index is introduced as the nun in training. Oh yeah the other girls introduced themselves as Wannai Kinuho and Awatsuki Mayaa. Wannai introduced as the level 3 hydro hand and Awatsuki as level 3 float dial. Hondo kinda suprised that ye saw another water user just like him and Hondo ask Wannai to show her power. Wannai accepted Hondo request and show a floating water on top of her palm and then the water is floating around her. Hondo then proceed show his water power as well with him scretch one of his leg and made a circle of water around him and suddenly, a water burst out and create some sort of water wall around him and everyone could see theough the water wall. Once the water descended, the group gave Hondo a clap for such a show along with the people who had somehow saw the performance from Hondo.

Wannai was beamed with Hondo performance, "That's amazing, could you please teach me Kowada-san?"

Kowada chuckled before he replied, "Sure, but maybe another time okay?"

Wannai gave him a nod. Now that she noticed that Mikoto wasn't with them, so she asked, "Where is Misaka-san anyway?"

Ruiko then answered, "Oh yeah, she said she went to the toilet."

Wannai kinda dissapointed and said, "Oh man, i wanna say that i'm looking foward to saw her performance."

Konori was out of the loop since she haven't heard the news so she asked, "Misaka want to have a performance?"

Uiharu excitedly informed Konori, "It's a suprise! A suprise!"

"Ehhhh, i wonder what's the suprise." Konori wondered.

Index then asked, "Shouldn't we at least tried to look for the seats?"

Kuroko then raised her eyebrows as she concluded, "That's right, we can't just stand here to talk or we won't get any seats."

"Then what are we waiting for?" Touma asked, "Let's hurry up and get ourselves a seat."

And then with that, the group proceed to find the seat to watch Mikoto performance before they ran out of seat.

The group find themselves sitting in the front seat and all of them excited to see what Mikoto will offered on her performance. Touma suddenly realised that his wallet is missing on the dorm and he excused himself to find his missing wallet and Aether decide to come along with him.

After a while, a good news is that both of them succeeded in finding Touma's wallet. But there's also a bad news that both of them lost their way back which is bad because Mikoto's performance is about to start. After a bit of exploring around, both of them somehow find themselves on the back stage, and they saw Mikoto wore a sleeveless dress with black trims and seams. She also wore a pair of flowers with ribbon on her right side of her hair. Touma think that Mikoto looks pretty in that dress.

Touma also noticed that she felt uneasy, so Touma tried to calm her, "Hey biri-biri, you okay?"

When Mikoto looked to her left, she suddenly become flustered, shocked, and angry because she didn't expect Touma suddenly show up here.

Mikoto then started to stammered, "W-W-WHAT IN THE WORLD ARE YOU TWO DOING HERE?!" She grabbed the steel chair and holding it over her head and continued, "Are you trying to make fun of me dressing in this clothes?"

Both the boys hold their hands up begged her to stop and Touma explained, "Hold on Misaka, we just lost our way and somehow we got end up here."

Aether then continue the explanation, "We also noticed that you looked so nervous, so we decide to support you to make sure you not felt nervous anymore."

Mikoto slowly pulled down the chair she holds above her head and put one of her hand on her chest, she felt that her nervous ess and anxiety have instantly gone. When Touma decide to put the chair back to the wall, he noticed a violin on top of the other chair and he mused, "Oh you play a violin? It might not suits you, but it's still good as well."

Mikoto gave Touma a smile, "Thanks, i'm really on the edge with everyone expect something good from me and i felt stressed out just by that."

Aether tried to cheered Mikoto and told her, "Don't worry Misaka, all of us are here to support you up so you don't need to worry at all."

Touma also continued, "You don't need to carry your burdens alone."

Mikoto giggled at Touma's statement, because it felt similar with everything happened with him since he's the only one who has the burden of saving someone but he shared his burden with everyone supporting him just like the time the infiltration at the misawa cram school.

Misaka gave them a thankful smile as she told them, "Thanks both of you, i'll make sure that i will do a good performance."

Both of the boys nodded and Touma noted, "Both of us will support you here okay?"

Mikoto gave him a thumbs up before she walked out onto the stage and played her violin. Everyone enjoyed the performance Mikoto gave to everyone with how beautiful the song she plays on that violin.

On 8pm, Kotaru, Ruiko, and Hondo has finished a special System scan that was developed by Hikari's parents and once they done their system scan, they got a result with Ruiko become a level 3 stormfront, Hondo become a level 4 Geonic floods, and Kotaru become the new 4th rank level 5 Elemental burst.

This immediately become the important news that every level 5 saw that night and received a various comments to the news.

"Don't care, i'm still the highest one."

"Oh a new level 5 that surpassed the 4th rank and below? Will he be a another tool for this city or will he actually be something interesting?"

"Hikari-san has become a level 5 now? I should congratulate him when we met again."

"WHO THE F*CK IS THIS B!TCH! HOW DARE HE DEMOTED ME FROM MY POSITION AS A 4TH RANK LEVEL 5!"

"Oh my...it looks like someone that's famous enough in the city has become a level 5 that's higher than me."

"..."

"Hey it's Hikari! Looks like he finally got promoted now! I wanna face him another time to see which one of us has more guts!"

"Wow! Kotaru just become a level 5 as well? I should congratulated him."

On the other hand, Kotaru really happy that his potential was the same as the level 5's with how well he can control his power now.
