I will admit. This mod is something else. Compared to the other Fallout 4 mods that I've downloaded, none of them had this much detail. I know that I'm not that deep into the story of it yet, but I feel like it would rival Fallout: New Vegas. The ride has been quiet so far, that show of intimidation that I've done earlier seemed to have everyone tensed up which caught my interest. Seems like my actions do have consequences with this mod.
Reminds me of TellTale games, particularly their famous Walking Dead series. I looked around my surroundings, curious as to where this ride is heading. As of now, the road is spiralling down a hill, to my right shows a view of the city. It would've been a beautiful thing to look at had there no smoke trails rising up, tell-tale signs of conflict. It seems like I am not the only one who took notice of this. Everyone in the bus watched with astonishment in their faces.
"No way…" Takashi said.
"The city…" Airi said.
1. "It's a good thing that we left the neighbourhood quickly."
2. "Look on the bright side, we got ourselves a bus."
3. "Heading to the city is a bad idea."
4. "Where the hell am I?"
"I took a moment to choose my next answer. If my hunch is right, whatever I'll say will cause a reaction to everyone in the bus. Number 4 doesn't seem to fit well, I'll wager that they'll just give me useless answers if I ask, number 1 seems more like a conversation with Airi, I don't mind that answer, but I'd rather address everyone in the bus, number 2 is obviously a no-no with how dark the situation is right now. Number 3 it is."
"Heading to the city is a bad idea."
My words echoed in the bus and all heads turn to me. All filled with apprehension, even the driver was having a difficult time looking at the road and me. In a nonchalant way, I shrug and continued speaking to make my point.
"Think about it. Large area, dense population, there are many reasons why I'd rather go elsewhere."
"What's the main reason?" Takashi spoke.
"It's simple really, this infection is clearly contagious, and it only takes a few hours before someone turns. A city that big, there are bound to be accidents. Responses from law enforcement are obviously late if the city is already in that state. Any idiot wanting to enter that city right now is asking to be killed."
Takashi's group seemed to look at each other with varying concerns. Shido took this opportunity of unrest and stood up, arms spreading wide in a prophetic stance. "Fear not my dear students for I, Koichi Shido, will protect you! You who are responsible for the future! You who will bring this world back on the right track!"
There was a moment of silence, everyone's eyes landed on Shido. The students who were with him slowly clapped, looks of admiration on their eyes. Takashi's group only scowled while I went back to my own devices, Airi slightly winced at how much these students were eating up Shido's words, nothing but manipulation all so that he would remain the centre of attention.
"This guy's really full of himself." I mutter to myself.
A loud noise caught everyone's attention, including me. We all looked to see Rei standing up by the door.
"Rei!" Takashi stands up to stop her.
"Stop the bus, Ms. Shizuka!"
Hesitation was on the blonde nurse's face, but she eventually complied. Stopping over a sidewalk which led to a tunnel. She quickly hopped out of the bus, Takashi following her.
"Why the hell are you leaving?!"
"I'd rather be somewhere than spend another hour with that fucking creep!" Rei snapped. She pointed at Shido from outside of the bus.
I watched with interest as the two of them argued about staying on the bus. Suddenly, I spot something from the corner of my eye. At the end of the road that led out of the tunnel, I spot a bus that is speeding toward them. I immediately stood up, startling Airi and ran towards the doors of the bus.
"TAKASHI!" I yelled while pointing my finger at the rapidly closing bus.
As the bus closed in, it rammed a parked car making it flip sideways. At this rate, they won't make it in time to reach our bus. Thinking quickly, I yelled at the two of them.
"GET IN THE TUNNEL!"
My voice seemed to break both Takashi and Rei's stunned looks and made a beeline towards the tunnel. At the very last second, I watched as both of them narrowly avoided a fiery grave. I clicked my tongue in annoyance and jumped out of the bus, Saeko followed behind me, eager to lend a hand. Pulling out my Shishkebab, I watched with a grim look on my face as more zombies clambered out of the overturned, burning bus. Burned flesh wafted across the air making anyone nauseas
Saeko and I charged the burning dead, weapons at the ready. She took a kendo stance and slammed her wooden sword on one undead. Fortunately, they were already burning corpses making it easier to cut through them. She lazily pushed another using the tip of her wooden sword before whacking it on the head. On the other hand, I have a more brutal way of dealing things. Using my level 10 Strength, it was so easy for me to just one-shot most of these zombies. Constantly cleaving their heads, the blade of Shishkebab easily cut through their burned flesh and bone.
The game didn't seem to let up. Considering the fact that a crashing bus echoed across the city, it was no surprise that more and more zombies came out from the corners of the street. I'm a little tempted to simply end it all by pulling out my Fatman but I held on. Instead, I pulled out The Deliverer and started shooting.
"SAEKO! LYRA!"
Our heads turned to see Takashi calling out to us from a small gap.
"Meet us at the East Police Station!" He yelled.
"What time?!"
I paid close attention to his words while also shooting zombies in the head. He'd better decide right now, otherwise, I have no choice but to pull out the big guns. My gun clicks empty, making me reload again. A zombie got too close for comfort, and I retaliated by slamming the but of The Deliverer on its skull, my level 10 Strength caving the zombie's head in. I dropped the empty magazine and quickly replaced it with another.
"At 7 PM! If we cannot meet today, we'll try again tomorrow!"
"I understand!" Saeko called out before running back to the bus.
I followed close behind. Once we're both in, Shizuku closed the doors and made a full reverse. There was a moment of silence in the bus. Once we were far away from the dead, Takagi spoke.
"So, what now?"
1. "Drive to the East Police Station"
2. "We drive to safety, they're pretty much dead."
3. "Do whatever you want."
4. Keep quiet
"I mean… the answer is obvious, option 1."
"Drive to the East Police Station."
"You cannot be serious, Miss Lyra!" Shido said, slowly approaching the driver seat. "Why are you risking the life of everyone on this bus for those two?"
"The audacity of this prick!" I exclaimed.
A cold and suffocating atmosphere suddenly enveloped the room. Pure cold anger washed over my face; fists clenched so tight that they're starting to turn white. I took a step forward, Shido took a step back. I quickly closed the gap between us and without warning, I socked the teacher on the nose, blood splattered on the windows of the bus. A girl shrieked at my sudden display of violence. Just as Shido was about to fall down, I grabbed the collar of his shirt, my eyes boring into his.
"We're in this shitty situation because you couldn't stand to shut up. We're in this shitty situation because you wanted to become the centre of attention. We're in this shitty situation all because you want to feel some kind of false power by letting these students worship you like some kind of saint."
I pulled my fist and threw it straight between his eyes, a slight crack could be heard, letting everyone know that I cracked his skull a bit before I finished it off by headbutting him. Shido threw his head back, blood splattering on the bus floor, he went limp afterwards. Once he was out, I threw him on an empty set of seats. My cold glare then skimmed through Shido's students.
"Anyone else want to say something?"
No one uttered a word. Saeko, Takagi and Kohta had neutral looks on their face while Shido's students were terrified. Airi was shocked and hesitant to meet my eyes. Another moment of silence, once the message was clear that they should all be quiet, I walked back to sit next to Airi.
A tense air between the two of us.
Well, would you look at that. Another chapter! It's been a while since I've written, and I feel like I've given justice against Shido. Some of you probably think that he deserves worse, but I think caving his face in is a better punishment and rather satisfying.
That being said, please give me feedback and criticism as they are always well appreciated. With all of that said and done, I bid you all adieu!
Peace~
