"Last time on Total Drama: Diamond Lake. The campers put their brains to the test in Diamond Lake Jeopardy, with the Grizzlies still reeling from the hasty decision of booting Roman. Paige tried to take up his mantle as team leader, but crumbled under the pressure, and so she was booted off. And we finish off the ep with the three voted off campers hearing a mysterious voice."

Diamond Lake!"
The camera opened up with a shot of the southern part of the island. The camera flew past Greg and went straight up into the sky and started to drop into the lake. "Dear mom and dad I'm doing fine, you guys are on my mind." The camera dropped down into the lake revealing Orion, who seemed to be looking for something.
"You asked me what I wanted to be and now I think the answer is plain to see." Orion rises up to get a breath of air, only to knock Brian off of his surfboard.
"I wanna be famous." The camera moved over to the eastern side of the Island, where Rose and Krystal were glaring at each other.
"I wanna live close to the sun." The camera then cut to the activity center behind the mess hall, where Grace was listening to Post play music.
"So pack your bags cause I've already won." The camera moved over to a different part of the Activity Center where it revealed Deena and Roman engaging in an intense arm-wrestling match.
"Everything to prove nothing in my way." The camera turned around and headed over to the mess hall while passing Paige, who seemed to be trying to talk to Andrius.
"I'll get there one day" The camera then went to the kitchen, where counselors DJ and Katie were fighting a slop monster.
Cause I wanna be famous." Inside the mess hall, Linka was trying not to gag at the food and Ryo was staring at it with no emotion in his eyes.
"Na Na Na Na Na Na Na Na Na Na Na Na Na Na." The camera headed off to the western side of the island, and quickly showed off Johnny and Uma having a contest to see who the better eye candy is.
"I wanna be, I wanna be, I wanna be famous. I wanna be, I wanna be, I wanna be famous." The camera stopped at Griff, who was giving Maybelle a piggyback ride, only for him to trip and fall into the water. The water cleared from the camera to show all of the campers around a bonfire whistling the tune.
After the TD opening, the three kicked off campers followed lantern lit trail through the woods. "Okay, can someone tell me what's going on?" Johnny asked as he tailed Paige and Roman, the latter leading the way.
"I'm not sure, I heard in Total Drama seasons they had the losers go to a fancy resort after they get booted." Paige answered.
Roman just trudged forward, not saying a word to them. After his freak out during the Awakethon he doubts Paige wants to hear anything from him. Paige noticed the Samoan descendant hasn't spoken a single word since she arrived at the shack, it was almost like he was ignoring her and Johnny completely.
The three eventually reached the end of the trail, leading to an open field aligned with torches. In the center they found a buff looking espresso colored man well into his 50's, wearing a green tank top, camo pants and army boots. Paige recognized him as, "Wait is that-"
"LISTEN UP MAGGOTS!" the man screamed into a megaphone, making the lawyer and Adonis wince at the booming sound. "I'M ONLY GONNA EXPLAIN THIS ONCE SO YOU BETTER LISTEN CAREFULLY!" he then put down the megaphone before paced around the former Grizzlies.
"You may know me as Chef Hatchet, former right hand man of Chris McLean. But here, you will refer to me... as Master Chief! You three are the first ones voted off, which means you're losers! You're weak! Pathetic! Spineless!"
"Can you get to the point?" Roman questioned.
"WAS THAT BACKSASS SOLDIER!?" Chef yelled in Roman's face.
"... Maybe."
Chef growled before returning to explaining how things go in these parts "Anyway, since you guys lost. You have a chance to rectify that here in what I call... The Dark Forest. From here on out, three losers compete in redemption challenges in order to earn a second chance in Diamond Lake. You'll be playing for these!" he ushered to two interns each wearing Total Drama Diamond Lake branded necklaces.
"Jewelry?" Johnny questions.
"That 'jewelry' are your tickets back to the game, the two campers wearing these will be rejoining the campers come the merge. As for who gets these necklaces, you'll have to win your first redemption challenge." Chef then explained the first redemption challenge, "You pieces of shit will be looking to unlock one of those doors, using the big pile of sticks to reach the key, which is 50 feet away. The first two to unlock their door, and cross the finish line gets the necklaces. AM I CLEAR?!"
"SIR YES SIR!" The three ex campers saluted.
"NOW TO YOUR STATIONS!"
From left to right it was Johnny, Roman, and Paige.
"All right, your road to redemption starts... NOW!"
The three quickly ran to the pile of sticks, each taking a pile and started constructing poles to reach their keys. Johnny looking between his sticks, wondering what he's supposed to do. Paige, who had about as much survival skill as Johnny, was making slow progress on her pole.
They both looked to Roman who was tying several sticks together. The other eliminatees had to pick up the pace, so they started doing what Roman was doing.
Soon Johnny was the first to finish crafting a long pole, which then attempted to use to grab the key. But it looked all wobbly and loosely together, when he tried to pick up the key it broke apart causing the first booted player to curse "Damn it!" as he pulled it back and rethink his strategy.
Paige had fashioned like a fishing pole, which she used to try and fish the key. She casted her line, but the rope was about 20 feet short.
Roman just calmly and steadily worked on his project, contrasting his competitors frantic pace.
Paige added more rope to her fishing line while Johnny retightened the ropes connecting his sticks, they each attempted again to reach their keys. But again the line was a little short, and the once again broke after picking up the key.
As the two pulled back their devices, Roman finally fished what he was making. The two saw it was...
"A boomerang?" Paige raised an eyebrow.
Johnny laughed at this, "Oh this I gotta see.
Roman held up his crafted boomerang, which composed of several sticks tied together in the form of a boomerang. He reared his arm back, "Here's hoping those boomerang lessons pay off." He then throws it, and the two other ex-players watch as the boomerang crosses the field and hooks on the key as it makes its way back to Roman. This caused them to drop their jaws as Roman takes his key and unlocks the lock on his door, he then opens the door and makes a run for the finish line.
Once he crosses it, Chef announces on his megaphone "ANGRY TEEN WINS 1ST! WHO WILL JOIN HIM?!" Roman sighs in relief as an intern slowly wraps the redemption necklace around him.
Paige shook off the shock before adding more rope to her fishing pole, Johnny takes his third attempt with his pole having triple knotted the rope connecting the sticks. He starts to reach for the key that lays just from where it was hanging, while Paige keeps trying to hook her key with her fishing pole.
Johnny manages to pick it up before slowly moving it back. Paige finally hooks her key and starts to drag it back, both of them were in a race to get their keys. Paige seeing that Johnny's was 10 feet away while she still had plenty of distance to cover. She then got an idea.
"Uhh look!" she pointed to the woods, "Is that Uma with a marry me Johnny sign?"
"Really?" he asks as he looks for the girl that wasn't really there as Paige pulls her key through the door before using it to unlock her door and pushing it open.
Johnny realizes he's been duped when he heard, "LAWYER GIRL TAKES 2ND! SO PRETTY BOY YOU'RE GONE!"
"Aw man." he sighed as he drops his pole.
"INTERNS! TAKE HIM TO THE LOSER'S JEEP!"
"You know you don't have to use that thing we're right here." a female intern told him.
"JUST DO IT MAGGOT!"
"Whatever." she rolled her eyes as she and a few others escorted Johnny away.
"Guess I won't get to win Uma back from Roman." he says as he was walked out of the field.
"YOU CAN HAVE HER!" he heard Roman yell out to him.
Chef then turned to Roman and Paige "You two, keep those necklaces for as long as you can. Because winning them was the easy part, now comes the hard part in defending those necklaces. Once the next camper shows up, you two will be back defending your only ticket back to the game. DISMISSED!"
We go to commercial as the brute and lawyer follow the lanterns back to the shack. "I guess we're still in the game."
"I guess." Roman muttered as he walked ahead, Paige figures his despondence has anything to do with him attacking the Panthers during the Awakethon.
