The next morning, Melody was still asleep in her room when Ariel came in.
"Melody, sweetie?" Ariel said.
"Huh?" Melody then woke up and yawned.
"You were up a little longer reading that journal?" Ariel questioned feeling like she has.
"Well, I... yes." Melody gave out.
Ariel couldn't help but chuckled. "Well, anyway, you know where we'll be going soon, right?"
"What do you- Oh, right, Atlantica." Melody said actually forgotten the visit to Atlantica due of last night's encounter "When do we leave?"
"Likely in a few hours, there's a few things to do before then." Ariel said. "Louis will have breakfast ready soon."
"Okay, I'll be right down." Melody said.
Ariel then left the room, and it was then that Sebastian woke up and climbed out from a pillow.
"Oh, morning already?" Sebastian said. "I'd better get going before Triton has me head."
Melody giggled as Sebastian crawled over to the door leading to the balcony, and Melody opened it for him as he heads outside and climbs down some vines on the castle wall. And soon reaches the bottom and crawls into the water.
A sailor of a ship in a harbor rings a bell as it chimes, and an entire crew stood on the deck.
"Atten-hut!" An officer said. "Attention on deck! Admiral James, Commander-in-Chief, North Sea Fleet, on deck."
"Sharp presentation, Captain." Admiral James as he was in his late 50's and been working in Eric's fleet for nearly 20 years.
"Thank you, Admiral James." A ship captain said as they walked along with Eric in his uniform as well as Grimsby.
"For 4 months now this place has been blowing pink smoke about the strange sightings out in sea." James said. "Could be a concern if something goes sideways. I'm determined not to let that happen."
"What were some of those sightings?" Eric asked.
"One of them claims of a creature that one was thought to be a large hammerhead shark, but it quickly vanished a moment later." James explained.
"I'm sure is nothing to worry about." The captain said.
"You analysts got it all figured out, don't you?" James said. "The smart enemy hits you exactly where you think you're safe."
Hundreds of miles away, a group of monstrous creatures were going over a battleplan with a scale model of Atlantica, and including Eric's kingdom as well as the harbor there as they went over how their ships were arranged.
Among them, a was a large creature with a head like that of a hammerhead shark, a large spike on his back. 4 legs with 4 fingered claws as hands, and 3 toed feet on the hind legs, and he 3 long tails. As this was a plan he has been preparing for months. 9 feet tall, 13 feet when standing on his back legs, and over 20 feet long.
"From a night scout, I was able to photograph battleship row and the whole kingdom." A dragon-like creature called a Banshee reported.
"Look at the ships - all grouped." A dinosaur-like creature said with a squarish head, 4 fingered hands and dorsal plates that curve forward. "Perfect targets."
They then went over to where a 7 foot tall gorilla-like creature and dragon-like creature with a 3-clawed tail were watching for them. As they had tube-like objects.
"We have these weapons to allow for Ocean Harbor." The dragon-like creature reported and nodded.
The gorilla-like creature then placed a wooden fin structure on the weapon and locks it in place.
"Wooden fins - this makes the weapons able to travel through the shallow harbor." The dragon-like creature showing some drawings on a rock face.
The hammerhead creature nodded with improvement.
"When Atlantica is still asleep in the morning mist, we will attack with full force." He said. "Otachi, make sure everyone else will be ready in 6 days."
"As you wish... Slattern." Otachi said.
"Scunner, report." Slattern ordered. "Any luck with them?"
Scunner was a 8 foot tall creature with 4 arms with 3 clawed hands, stands on 2 legs, all gray, long tail with a trident-shape end, a set of horns on the side of his head with a sort of hammerhead-like appearance.
"We've located that shark and 2 rays of hers', Morgana is still being chipped away." Scunner said.
"Let me know when she's nearly free." Slattern said.
"Yes, sire." Scunner said and heads off.
"Are you sure having those 4 is a good idea?" The gorilla-like creature questioned having doubts on her.
"There's no need to fret, Leatherback." Slattern assured. "I have it all worked out when she wakes up. Besides, she just needs a little persuasion if she tries something."
Back in Eric's kingdom, in Ocean Harbor, unaware of an attack being planned. Crew members on a ship cheered as a boxing match was held between a cook named Doris, though he was usually called Dorie, and a muscular man who works in the lower decks.
Soon, Melody in a lavender dress and one of Eric's good friends George appeared.
The fight continues as Dorie struck the man in the face twice.
"That-a-boy! Be a mad dog!" Another cook cheered.
"You hit pretty hard... for a cook." The man said.
He then swiftly punched Dorie as he was knocked back.
"All right, kid, who you got?" George asked. "Come on, find tomorrow rum."
"I'll take the cook." Melody said.
"Why? You don't like money?" George frowned.
The man continues hitting Dorie as he blocks his punches as he was then knocked over.
"Come on!" The cook said. "Get out there now!"
Dorie then ducked as the man swiftly swing a gloved fist to hit him as he ducked, and everyone near him avoided his swing exclaiming.
"Whoa!" A sailor exclaimed holding a Jack Russel Terrier.
"I'll put 5 silver pieces on it." Melody said making a bet.
"Done." George settling it.
The man strikes Dorie hard in the face.
"Against a sailor?" George said. "That guy eats nails."
"How's it feel up when out of the lower deck?" Dorie asked. "Sunlight botherin' you?"
The sailor then struck a punch at Dorie's face.
"Ow." Dorie said.
The sailor then uppercuts Dorie knocking him back.
"Man, he's getting all busted up in there!" The cook said.
The sailor punches Dorie hard.
"Move! Move!" George cheered.
Then a bell ring was heard.
"Come here, we gotta talk." The cook said as Dorie went up to him. "Get down here. He can't hurt us."
Another man pours some water over Dorie.
"He can hurt us." Dorie said. "He cut us. We bleeding."
"Bleeding?" The cook said and dabs his finger on a cut over Dorie's right eyebrow and tasted the blood. "That's a scratch! Now you see this here?" He held a bag of money. "This here is the hard-earned gold pieces of every pot-scrubbin', dishwashin' chop in this here fleet. Now if we don't win, the teeny here has to find himself another battleship! There's no way I'm going back to the Apollo empty-handed."
"Don't worry about the money." Dorie said. "I'mma send that smug ship-fixin' snipe back below deck where he belongs."
A bell rang as he heads back out.
"Come on, now. We the man!" The cook said. "You the man! He slapped your mama, remember?! Be a son of a gun!"
The fight soon started again as the sailor attempts to hit Dorie as he ducks, and then Dorie strikes hard on the sailors face, and punches him hard on his gut.
"Look at this!" Melody cheered. "All right, Dorie!"
Dorie then strikes hard on the sailor's face as he was knocked back as Melody cheered, as well as the cook.
The sailor soon regains his senses as Dorie was ready.
The sailors shakes the dizziness off and got back into the fight, Dorie punches him twice as he soon drops to his knees.
"That's enough." The referee said stepping in. "That's enough."
The sailor tries to regain his senses but soon drops flat on the deck as everyone cheered and the bell rang.
"Oh, ho, ho! Where's my money?" Melody said turning to George.
"Nah, fight's rigged." George said handing her 5 silver pieces.
"We're rich!" The cook beamed and kissed the bag of money and laughed.
Later, Melody was waiting for her mother by the beach as it was nearly time for them to head for Atlantica.
"Oh, what's taking so long?" Melody said trying to be patient.
"Coming!" Ariel's voice called.
Melody turned and saw her parents heading down the steps.
"Now, Eric, are you sure you can handle the kingdom by yourself for a couple weeks?" Ariel asked.
"Oh, Ariel, I'll be fine." Eric reassured and kissed his wife's cheek. "Go. Enjoy your time."
"Bye, Dad." Melody said hugging her father.
"Bye, sweetie." Eric said and kissed his daughter's forehead. "And stay out of trouble you 2."
"I'm sure nothing will happen that would cause us to make trouble." Ariel said.
"Right, when have heard that before?" Eric said.
He soon heads back up the stairs as Ariel and Melody couldn't help but giggled of he said.
"Us being troublemakers?" Ariel said. "I mean, that hasn't happened to us in such a while."
"Some ways maybe." Melody said softly.
"What was that?" Ariel asked barely hearing her.
"Nothing!" Melody quickly said. "Let's get going."
Ariel then held her daughter's hand, and they stepped into the water.
"Ready?" Ariel asked.
"Ready." Melody said. "I wish to be a mermaid."
Her bracelet then glowed, and then a bright light surrounds them as they then dove into the water as light fades as they were both mermaids.
"Come on, let's go." Ariel said.
They then swam off.
Not far from Atlantica, a new base was recently built when a mysterious crystal of some kind was found. And seeing it had some power energy of some sort, Triton thought it could be of use. And stone watercraft was made for new recruits of the castle guard.
2 mermen were 2 stone watercraft shaped like hammerhead sharks as they near the base.
"Where's McCawley and Walker?" A merman asked.
"Still training, air." Another merman named Billy said.
Not far away, a watercraft was flying through the ocean at high speed with a merman in it.
"All right, Danny." He said through a shell that allows communication. "Now let's show 'em how to fly. We're gonna play chicken. You ready?"
Elsewhere, another watercraft flew through water.
"This ain't the sandbar, and these ain't no shell-scooters." Danny said. "I'm not playin' chicken with ya."
"Now don't be a baby." The merman said.
"I-I'll tell you what..."
"Not doin' it, Rafe." Danny said shaking his head.
"Well, I'm coming right at you." Rafe said. "You can turn, or you can hit me. It's up to you."
Soon, Rafe's craft flew over the base as everyone turns to him.
"What the..." The merman said.
"Oh, boy." Billy said.
Rafe's craft flies by, and then they turned and saw Danny's craft coming in at the other direction.
"Why are you always bustin' my tail, Rafe?" Danny said giving out. "Which way you goin'?"
Everyone then turned back to Rafe's craft.
"I guess I'll go right." Rafe said. "No, uh, left. I'll go left."
They begin to near each other.
"Okay, we're goin' left, right?" Danny said getting ready.
"Ri-uh, right. Right?"
"Right like we're goin' right, or right like we're goin' left?" Danny frowned.
"Oh, well, now you got me all mixed up!" Rafe said. "I don't know. Make up your mind."
They were soon coming at each other fast.
"Gosh, Rafe, we're goin' right!" Danny yelled. "Righty-tighty!"
They begin to close in on each other.
"Aah!" Danny working the controls.
They quickly turned as they narrowly bypass each other, and soon nearly everyone cheered.
"WHOO-HOO!" A merman cheered.
"WATER PUMP!" Another named Red cheered.
Danny then laughed.
"Whoo-hoo-hoo-hoo!" Rafe laughed.
Everyone continued cheering.
"Those are some smooth aces." A merman named Anthony said.
A few miles from Atlantica, a pod of Bottlenose Dolphins porpoise bound at the surface as below them, a Humpback Whale swam by as it migrates south towards the warm tropics some 4,000 miles away.
Further below near the seabed, Ariel and Melody swam over the seafloor heading to Atlantica.
But as they swam, Ariel was in thought for some reason. Barely noticeable, she almost felt the water strangely slightly felt a little warmer than last time. And a few times, they pass by an area with more squid and jellyfish than there should be where fish normally live. Both these creatures are normally a common sight in the ocean, but strangely they seem to have strangely increased in some places.
Ariel may have only been a mermaid in the ocean twice within the last 14 years, but a part of her still always belongs here.
And she couldn't help but slightly feel if something could be wrong.
"Mom?" Melody said.
"Hmm?" Ariel turned to her daughter out of her thoughts.
"You okay?" Melody asked.
"Yeah, yeah." Ariel assured. "Everything's fine."
They continued swimming to Atlantica.
Near Atlantica's outer rim, Sebastian was crawling across the seafloor lightly humming.
"So calm and peaceful, mon." Sebastian sighed.
Suddenly a clam bonks him on the head and flies off as Sebastian was completely dazed. And then 5 familiar young yellow fish quickly swam by as Sebastian was knocked on his back.
"Over here, over here." One of them said.
They continued tossing the clam to one another.
"Kids." Their father's voice said sternly.
They turned as Flounder appeared.
"How many times have I told you of playing Kick the Clam on the reef?" Flounder said.
His children then uneasily whined.
"Sorry, Dad." One of his sons apologized.
They then swam off to find another place to play as Flounder went to Sebastian.
"Sorry about that, Sebastian." Flounder said helping him up.
"That's a fine "Hello-and-how-do-you-do"." Sebastian said holding his claw over his head. "Boy I tell you. I don't know how I'm still here."
"Well, that's a shame, because things would sure be quiet without you." Said a familiar voice.
They turned and saw Ariel and Melody.
"Ariel!" Flounder beamed.
The 2 long best friends then hugged each other.
"Oh, I missed you." Ariel said happy to see her friend again. "How are things here?"
"Great." Flounder said. "All peaceful here."
"Come now." Sebastian said. "I'm sure your father is waiting for you."
They then swam off.
In the throne room, Triton has just came in after finished a meeting.
And soon, Sebastian, Flounder, Ariel and Melody swam into the throne room.
"Daddy!" Ariel beamed and swam over to him.
"Ariel!" Triton smiled and hugged his daughter. "How wonderful it is to see you again." Melody then joins in on the hug as he laughed. "Oh, and great to see you too, Melody."
"You too, Grandfather." Melody smiled.
"I'm sure glad you both are able to come." Triton said.
"Oh, Daddy." Ariel smiled. "We're always welcome to-"
"Ariel?" A familiar voice said.
Ariel turned and saw Attina who just entered the throne room.
"Attina!" Ariel beamed.
Ariel then swam up to her oldest sister as they hugged each other and laughed as Triton smiled.
"Oh, I missed you so much." Attina said.
"Attina, it's only been a few months since we last saw each other." Ariel reminded.
"I know, but it still felt like a lifetime." Attina said.
Things have also changed in Atlantica in the last 12 years since Morgana was last seen as well. During that time, Attina and her sisters had eventually met someone like Ariel did, and now have families of their own. Attina now has a son and daughter, Alana now has 2 daughters and she and her husband are hoping for a son soon. Aquata has a daughter and son, Arista has 2 sons, Adella who had a crush on the merman, Stevie, now have a son and daughter, and lastly Andrina has a son, but is hoping for another child soon. An interesting story with Adella was when it was about 2 years after Morgana was last seen, and sadly as well as Ariel and Melody. Adella and Stevie were on a double-date with Andrina and her boyfriend, then Stevie got Adella's attention as he suddenly kneels and was trying to say something. For a moment, Adella wasn't sure what he was doing as she got down to his level. But Stevie told her to get up, Adella did asked what he was doing, but Stevie told her to get up. Adella soon got up, and then it took a few seconds for her to truly realize what he was doing as she was beaming brightly. Stevie was starting to bring up the courage when Andrina's boyfriend yelled out to hurry up, and Stevie asked for a minute as he tries to build up the confidence. Then Andrina asked what was the matter with him, and if he was sick. It was then Stevie turns to them and yelled, "Can a guy propose?!". It took both of them by surprise as Andrina hugged her boyfriend.
Ariel laughed at the last part when Adella told her that story. And was truly happy for her sisters.
The manatee Benjamin who used to work for Marina Del Ray now spends his time at a retirement home after Marina passed away 6 years ago. But wasn't behind bars at that time as with Benjamin's help she did had a change in heart.
"I know." Ariel said.
"Hi, Aunt Attina." Melody said.
"Oh, hi, Melody." Attina said happy to see her niece. "Oh, you seem to have gotten a little bigger last time I saw you."
Melody giggled and hugged her aunt.
"So, where's everyone else?" Ariel asked hoping to see her other sisters.
"Follow me." Attina said.
They then swam off.
"Oh, wait." Ariel said. "Can you wait for a quick second?"
Ariel then went up to father.
"Um, Daddy?" Ariel said. "I was wondering, have you noticed anything strange happening?"
"What do you mean?" Triton wondered.
"I don't know." Ariel said unsure how to say it. "When me and Melody were coming here, I sorta saw a few areas where they had squid and jellyfish."
"I don't see how that can be strange, Ariel." Triton said.
"Well, it's just those places usually have fish there." Ariel said. "And I thought the water felt slightly warmer."
"Hmm." Triton pondered for a moment. "When you put it like that, I had noticed something was different of the water feeling a little warmer. I'll have a look soon."
"Thanks, Daddy." Ariel said and kissed her father's cheek.
She then swam off with the others.
When they were gone, Triton was in thought of what Ariel said but didn't want to see as a real concern, but still felt he should take a look soon.
Attina swam through Atlantica as Ariel and Melody followed her as they near a kelp forest.
And soon, Aquata and Andrina were seen.
"Aquata, Andrina!" Ariel beamed. "It's great to see you again."
"Andrina, I thought I heard someone, do you?" Aquata said if she hasn't seen Ariel yet.
"Maybe it's a sea ghost." Andrina gasped and secretly winked to Attina.
"Guys, I'm right here." Ariel said.
"Oh, no! I'm feeling cold." Aquata said dramatically. "It's like someone is behind me!"
"HA!" Alana, Arista and Adella yelled suddenly appearing from the kelp.
They then laughed.
"Gotcha!" Arista said.
They then hugged Ariel.
"Okay, real funny." Ariel giggled. "Who's idea?"
"Moi. Just a little payback for not seeing for 12 years." Aquata said.
"You're never gonna let it go, are you?" Ariel asked.
"In time, maybe." Andrina said.
"Anyhow, how's one of our favorite niece?" Adella asked.
"Hi." Melody greeted.
"Oh, hello, sweetie." Arista said hugging Melody. "It's good to see you again."
"You too." Melody smiled.
"So, since we're all here." Ariel said. "What should we do?"
"You know, I think I know what we need." Aquata said having an idea.
"What?" Ariel asked.
"Girls' night." Aquata cheered.
They then got excited.
Towards night, they were at a club as swing music plays and little creatures that look half vegetable and half animal served them food. They were creatures that were found about 10 years ago and were soon called Vegimals. And among them, were 5 as one was yellow and blue named Tunip, another was orange and blue named Barrot, and a pink and green named Codish, and red and green one named Timinnow, and lastly a purple and green one that is a little bigger named Grouber. They speak a type chittering and chirping language, but they are of huge help, and cooking is one of their specialties.
Merpeople were enjoying themselves as some danced, and the Catfish Club band, Ray-Ray, Cheeks, Ink Spot and Shelbow were on the stage playing.
And Ariel, along with her sisters and Melody laughed as they were having a great time.
"Ladies and gentlemen, Catfish Club II is proud to present our guest of honor." Swifty announced. "Our main crab."
The Catfish Club Band turns to a curtain as a shadow.
"The one and only... Sebastian!" Swifty said.
The curtain rose up as everyone cheered as it was Sebastian as he smiled.
"Sebastian!" Ariel and her sisters said.
"Whoo!" Sebastian slid down to the stage.
My girl's name is Senora
I tell you, friends, I adore her
"Sebastian?" Melody said completely surprised.
And when she's dances, oh, brother
Sebastian then twirls around.
She's a hurricane in all kinds of weather
Shelbow and Ray-Ray then join him.

Melody had a jaw-dropped stunned look similar to when Ariel first saw him as a famous singer. And Ariel giggled seeing her daughter's reaction as she never thought he was that good. And she then closed Melody's mouth.

"Sebastian." Ariel said.
Oh! Oh! Oh!
Sebastian was then tossed 2 maracas, and Ink Spot held some in his tentacles and everyone else soon did.
Shake, shake, shake, Senora
Attina and her sisters then brought maracas of their own and Andrina hands some to Ariel and Melody.
Other merpeople and creatures shook their maracas as they rattled.

Ariel and Melody played their maracas giggled and Attina and the others laughed a bit as they were so much alike.

Ariel and Melody turn to them and they laughed.

Sebastian then did a back-flip and sea-confetti appeared as Ariel spun Melody as they danced.
Sebastian then jumps up as the crowd caught him and tossed him up.

He was then tossed back on the stage.

Everyone soon cheered as the Catfish Club Band bowed.
A couple hours later, they deciding to turn in for the night as they were in their old room as it was best time they all had together since they were teenagers.
"Good night, Ariel." Andrina said.
"Good night, Andrina." Ariel said as Andrina lays down to sleep.
"Zap it do dah, zow!" Arista said laying down by Ariel and Melody.
Ariel laughed. "Night, Arista."
"Sweet dreams, Ariel." Alana said with her sleeping mask on. "You too, Melody."
"You, too, Alana." Ariel said.
"Good night, Adella." Alana said and lays down to sleep.
Adella turns Aquata. "Good night, Aquata."
"Night." Aquata said.
They then turn to Attina who was already fast asleep as she snored, and Melody giggled a bit and went to sleep.
"Good night, Attina." Ariel said and went to sleep.
An eerie silence fills the night in the ocean as everything was silent with very few creatures around.
Near the surface, a Great White Shark swims through the water keeping a sharp eye out for prey as it's other senses were firing at peak strength.
But unknown to him, he himself is being hunted.
Somewhere below the shark, a large shape swiftly swims through the water as the silhouette of a large creature was stalking the shark. Great Whites usually had little to fear with other creatures, but this one was stalking the shark like it was nothing.
The creature had a serpent-like body as it begins to move into position just ahead of the shark using the dark gloom as cover. The shark itself hasn't detect the creature yet, and is completely unaware he himself it being preyed upon. And he was unknowingly moving into striking distance.
The shark senses something is below him, but it's too late.
Before he has time to turn his head, a gigantic predatory creature lunges and unleashes a 2-ton crush of teeth.
The creature lunges upwards and breaches out of the water with the shark in it's jaws, and it's size was 50 feet long as it crashes back into the water. All the shark saw was the wide-open mouth of the creature, who crushes him by the neck, snapping the head as if it was a toothpick. His neck is broken. He's completely lifeless and limps lifelessly.
The creature shook the shark like a chew toy and chomps it's teeth through the skin like hot knifes through butter. The force of the shaking soon tears the tail and right pectoral fin off and the creature tossed the shark away.
For the shark, it came all too quick.
The creature then disembowels it's helpless prey and eats it.
Elsewhere in the ocean, a few miles from where the shark was mauled alive.
A family of Pilot Whales were resting by the surface, made of 20 members. And among them, a 3 month old calf sleeps under it's mother's fin.
But tonight won't be as peaceful, and like the shark, they too are being hunted.
Somewhere behind them, a large shape lurks in the gloom as 4 large flippers guide it's huge bulk. One of the predator's favorite hunting method, is to come from below and behind it's potential target.
As the creature closes in on the whales, it descends in order to surprise them from below.
Once it was deep enough, it begins to move into position beneath the pod.
Then with sudden fury, the creature strikes.
With 1 powerful swing from it's 4 flippers, the creature launches from the depths and charges towards the pod.
The creature lunges with open jaws with a rosette of teeth and then clamps down on one of the whales catching the entire pod in sudden surprise. The creature was thrown out of the water with one of the pod members in it's teeth.
It then hits into the water and chomps on the helpless whale as the pod quickly makes a break for it.
Soon, the predatory creature tears the whale in 2, and decides it wasn't done yet. And turns turns the fleeing pod, and pursuits them.
The Pilot Whales swam as fast as their fins could them, and the creature was gaining on them. But fortunately, luck was on there side as they weren't too far from the beach, and they quickly to a shallow lagoon where the water will be too low for the creature to follow.
Most of the pod begins to enter the lagoon as a youngster has the predator on it's tail. But at the last second, the young whale quickly made it pass the sandbar as the creature snapped it's jaws missing him.
The creature growled as the water was too low for it follow them, and it turns and swims back out into deeper water.
Shaken, terrified, sad of a loss, but alive. The pod was glad to get away without any more loss.
But the 2 attacks, are just the beginning of what is to come next.

You may noticed some references from Pearl Harbor.
And the part with Aquata and Andrina pretending not to hear Ariel was something I seen when I was watching Season 10 premiere of Chicago Fire. And I have seen the Season 9 premiere of Chicago P.D., though unfortunately I missed the Season 7 premiere of Chicago Med. But, for those who are SVU fans, Season 23 starts tonight, and as well as Organized Crime Season 2, and I happen to hear of rumor that a former Chicago P.D. star will appear in it, but it didn't say who though.
And quite the cliffhanger Chicago Fire ended with Season 9 with them trapped in the boat. They did made it out in the Season 10 premiere, and them being trapped has to be a Pearl Harbor reference without a doubt. It remained me of how some of the 1,177 men trapped in the Arizona were alive still.
Anyway, those 2 attacks are just a precursor of what's coming.
And for those who wonder how Pilot Whales got their name, it's because it was thought that each pod followed a 'pilot' in the group.
