Ariel and Melody suddenly screamed after getting an electric shock being woken up. And then breathed heavily as they were in a large throne room inside a cavern and were chained to their wrists and tails.
"Welcome to Monster Sea... Daughter and Granddaughter of Triton." Slattern said.
Ariel and Melody looked up and saw Slattern resting on a throne that looked it was made from whale bones. And by him was Zilla, Raiju, Morgana, Undertow, Cloak and Dagger.
"I can't believe you're finally here." Slattern said. "I've heard so many stories about you." He then rose up. "All these years, I've been ashamed of a mermaid for leaving behind her ancestral home just to be with a surface-dweller. Ashamed of the fact that even a half-breed daughter, for 12 years she wouldn't be allowed to be in it all because of a new enemy. But now that you're finally here before me, I must admit... I am conflicted."
"You'll get conflict soon enough, Slattern." Ariel said glaring at him.
"I see." Slattern said. "Took me long enough to realize why you 2 come all this way, to stop me like with Ursula and Morgana. But it'll take more then a trident or your father to stop me now."
"We came here to stop a monster from destroying the world." Ariel said.
"Me? A monster?" Slattern said sounding offended. "What I did was merely a firecracker to your home, the real monsters are the kind you fell blind to and married."
"Eric's not like that." Ariel protested.
"Really?" Slattern said. "I've seen human nature firsthand, you don't even know what every human is capable. Humans have been in control of the world for thousands of years, wiping out countless species, destroying the landscape around them. Building weapons to do it, and within a century time, those human parasites will continue their destructive power, worsening the world, polluting our waters, poisoning children. Countless animals slaughtered for food, sport, everything. They'll destroy this world, before they end up destroying each other. And it disgusted me that you fell in love with one of them. Seems you forgotten the monsters who took your mother away."
Ariel uneasily looked away from him.
"Also, I'd hate to be responsible for keeping the truth from a family member." Slattern added. "To feel the shame of knowing I took the guilt of lying to someone I love. Especially one I brought into this world."
"I've put that all behind me." Ariel said. "I was trying to protect her."
"Oh, really." Slattern said. "For your information, it would've taken more than a wall to keep Morgana away."
"Definitely true." Morgana said.
Slattern glanced back shooting a glare at her with a snort.
Morgana instantly went silent.
"But why the wall?" Slattern questioned turning back to Ariel. "Was it truly to protect Melody? Or was that you tried to keep history from repeating itself? Or was it that you never wanted Melody to know the truth to begin with? Or perhaps all 3?"
"It's not true." Ariel said.
"Don't bothering denying it." Slattern said approaching them. "You never had the heart to tell her in all those 12 years. So tell me, were you going to tell her when she was old enough to understand, or keep the truth from her for your whole life till your last breath?"
Ariel was uneasy and turns to Melody, and soon hung her head sadly.
Slattern chuckled. "Just as I thought." He said. "And for 12 years, you never realized your mistake till the last second. And in some cases, you were responsible of Melody nearly killed. Cretaceous! Maelstrom!"
A purple scaled Ichthyosaur-like creature with gharial-like jaws and a sail ridge, and a sea green Plesiosaur-like creature with a rounded head went up to him.
"Take these fools to the dungeons till I can figure out what to do with them." Slattern ordered.
Cretaceous grabs Ariel's chain as Maelstrom grabs Melody's.
"Oh, and Ariel." Slattern said.
He then lowers to her ear.
"Let me be as clear as I can." Slattern said in a warning tone. "If you actually care about Melody, I suggest you don't try to escape. And so much if you try, I'll have you watch your daughter killed in front of you before I kill you myself."
Ariel was horrified from the thought as then Cretaceous drags her away.
"You let them go?!" Attina angrily said.
Back at Atlantica, Sebastian has just explained to Attina where Ariel and Melody was after searching for after seeing they were gone.
"I'm sorry, Attina." Sebastian said. "But you know how Ariel is. I couldn't stop her even if I tried. And you know how much Melody is like her."
"That's what I was afraid of!" Attina said. "You should've at least tried to talk some sense into them!"
She then turns away and sighs.
Sebastian then noticed Attina looked bother by something else.
"Attina, what's truly bothering you?" Sebastian asked.
Attina sadly sighed. "It's just... Ever since Mom died, I promised myself I'd be a responsible big sister and lookout for Ariel and the others. Mainly Ariel since she took her death hardest next to Dad."
Sebastian was a little surprised by this as he never knew that.
"And after Morgana was last seen, and Dad told us that Melody couldn't know about us till she's found, I felt I wasn't there for her." Attina said.
"Attina, you've been a great sister to Ariel for your whole life." Sebastian said. "She looked up to you since you were kids."
Attina lightly smiled from that. "I just wish Mom is here. Things could be easier slightly."
"I know." Sebastian said. "But, hey, if Ariel and Melody did get into any kind of trouble. I'm sure they're headstrong enough to figure a way out."
Attina chuckled a bit. "Yeah, I know how headstrong she can be sometimes. It was one of the things I knew Melody would have. I just hope they're okay."
Elsewhere in Atlantica, Alex, Lily, Lee, Tara and Leo were by some coral.
And also with them was Alana's daughter, Atlanna. She looked a lot like her mother, her black hair was braided to a ponytail over her left shoulder, and wears a lavender tiara similar to her mother's.
"I seriously couldn't believe Melody would do something like this." Tara said.
"I know, it's bad enough Aunt Ariel has gone, but both of them." Leo said.
"There's gotta be something we can do." Atlanna said.
"Even if we could, how?" Lee inquired. "We're not supposed to leave Atlantica, and we don't even know where that kingdom is?"
"Or this Gojira fella that was mentioned." Leo said.
The 6 remained silent unsure what to think of.
"I guess, all we can do is hope and wait for them to return." Lily said.
They then swam off.
Meanwhile, in the far north, in Prehistoria, life went about daily business as usual.
At one of the many lakes, a herd of Apatosaurus were at the shallow part of the water as they drink.
Other dinosaurs were at the shore of the lake drinking, then emerging from the trees was a pair of Allosaurus heading to the water's edge. A pair of Parasaurolophus saw them and quickly move away.
Fortunately for them, the Allosaurs have already ate and came to the lake to wash down their meals. One bends down to drink as the other turns to the Apatosaurus herd nearby, and soon lowers down to drink.
The Apatosaurus herd meanwhile continues drinking, unaware of the danger that is about to strike.
Hiding in the shadows in the nearby trees, a pair of red eyes watches the herd as soft growling was heard.
It took a step forward as a curved claw on the toe taps on the ground. Normally Apatosaurus have little to fear of predator as adults, but this creature was stalking the herd like they were nothing.
Then, a black scaled 4-fingered hand steps out of the shadows armed with sharp claws.
Then like a leopard, the creature erupts out of the brush charging towards the herd. It was black with a yellow stripe on each side, quill bristles on it's back, and a rosette of sharp teeth in it's jaws.
The creature lets out a screeching roar as it nears the herd.
The Apatosaurus herd turns to the predator as they took a defensive stance standing shoulder-to-shoulder. They bellowed loudly as the predator stalked and paced near the herd looking for a weak spot through the wall of creatures more than 20 times it's weight.
But the predator wasn't the real threat.
Somewhere behind the herd, the large black Carnotaur and the white predatory dinosaur is moving into position. It was almost the 3 predators are working together as a pack.
Then they both charged, and the Carnotaur was the first to attack as it bites down on the back leg of one of the Apatosaurs. The Apatosaurus bellows in pain as then the white dinosaurs lunges and slashed it's side with her hand claws, and then bites down on the neck. It was enough to cause the herd to panic as the wounded Apatosaur was brought down, and the 3 predators continued their attack.
Nearby, 2 young Iguanodons and a Parasaurolophus watched the commotion of Apatosaurus as the 3 predators roared at them. And 3 Sifakas native to Prehistoria watched as well.
Then more bellowing started as an Apatosaurus on it's hind legs came crashing down as the herd flees directly towards them.
Seeing the herd stampeding towards them, the young dinosaurs and lemurs quickly took off running as fast as their legs could take them. And the Apatosaurs bellowed and roared as they flee in terror.
One lemur was lagging behind, and quickly leaps onto a vine swinging away from the stampeding giants and ran into a branch and clings on.
Nearby in the forest, a herd of dinosaurs were feeding like a Pachyrhinosaurus feeding on ground plants, and an Edmontosaurus reaching leaves in a high branch.
Then distinct crying was heard as they looked over, and then the 2 Iguanodon youngsters and Parasaurolophus came running out of the bushes. And rushed by the herd as they watched them ran, and the 2 lemurs quickly leaped into the trees.
An Iguanodon, Gallimimus and Parasaurolophus looked back to the bushes.
Then the ground shook as panicked bellowing was heard as the Apatosaurus herd crashed through the trees. The herd quickly ran out of the way as the panicked giants stampede. Feet stomping on the ground leaving footprints, trampling over bushes and small trees in their way, and panicked roars and bellows fill the air.
Among the stampeding giants, a Velociraptor with gray scales, a blue stripe on both sides running from her eyes, down her back to her tail leaps out of the way of one taking shelter behind a termite mound. But she then noticed a baby Iguanodon squealing like mad as it was caught in the stampede trying to avoid getting trampled by the many legs rushing by.
The Velociraptor then suddenly rushed forward as the baby Iguanodon ran looking back, and then the raptor rams the baby out of the way as an Apatosaurus foot stomps on the ground right where it was the 2 rushed off in different directions, and the raptor hid behind a tree as an Apatosaurus rushed by.
The panicked Apatosaurus stampedes away as the herd watched them go as they flattened trees in their way.
The baby Iguanodon the raptor saved quickly rushed back to it's mother as they nuzzled each other.
The Velociraptor came out of hiding and watches the Apatosaurus herd vanishing.
She then rushed off heading the direction where they came from.
The Velociraptor soon got to the shore of the lake where the Apatosaurs were attacked, and saw part of the lake was red in blood.
She then sniffs the air, and saw a large drag impression on the other shore. She then narrowed her eyes growling.
It seems that soon, no creature, land or sea will be safe.
Back in Slattern's kingdom, now night, Ariel and Melody were in a prison cell, and the bars were made of a type of metal they never seen before.
Ariel was barely able to see each end of the hall, and there doesn't seem to be anyone guarding there. Almost as if Slattern was confident enough to think they wouldn't escape, even by the threat he made.
"There's gotta be someway out." Ariel said.
"How?" Melody inquired. "The bars are too thick to break."
"Well, what Slattern doesn't know is that we don't give up so easily." Ariel said. "Right?"
"Right." Melody said with a confident look. "Now, how to get out of this cell?"
They then looked around for any possible ways to get out of the cell. Ariel then noticed a cracked section of rock by the corner, she pondered for a moment and swam over to it and examines it. She then tries to move it as Melody turns to her, and the rock slightly jostled.
They then turn to each other smirking knowing they found a way out.
Meanwhile, Slattern was in the throne room discussing with Morgana and Undertow.
"We're saying is we're sick of all this waiting." Morgana said.
"We are wanting to move!" Undertow said.
"We don't move until my plan is all set." Slattern sternly said.
"I say we kill 'em all now." Morgana said sinisterly.
Slattern then suddenly grasped Morgana tightly in his right hand.
"You mean kill Melody now." Slattern growled. "I say what's this I'll say! Disobey my orders again like that stunt you tried to pull with Melody, and so help me, like what happened to Ursula, you'll be... JOINING HER!" He threw down the throne steps.
"Strong talk." Morgana said getting up. "Starting to wonder why you didn't finish Triton when you had the chance."
"Shut up!" Slattern snapped. "I deciding to save that energy for later. Get out of my sight!"
Morgana then swam off as Undertow followed.
Slattern snorted and swam away.
Meanwhile, Ariel and Melody were trying to get the rock loose as it was started to give.
"I think it's coming loose." Melody said.
They continued loosing the rock as it was nearly free.
"Almost... got it." Ariel said.
They then pushed on the rock, and it suddenly came loose and sank on the floor of the hall.
"Yes." Melody cheered quietly.
Ariel peaked her head through the gap and looked around making sure the coast was clear. She then looked at the gap and saw it was big enough to squeeze through.
"Okay, Melody, you first." Ariel said.
Melody swam to the gap, and struggled a bit as she pulled herself through the gap. Ariel soon followed and struggled more as it was a tighter fit for her, Melody soon helped her through the gap.
"Okay, come on." Ariel said.
They then swam off as Ariel looked around at the next section, and soon swam off.
Eventually, they came across a dry section of the mountain with ice tunnels.
They quietly crawled through the ice halls as then voices were heard, and then Zilla and Raiju appeared from a bend nearby. They tried to move away, but Zilla soon spotted them.
"Oh, no." Melody said.
"I don't believe it." Zilla said in disbelief.
They then charged towards them as Ariel and Melody quickly crawled away.
"How did you get out of there?!" Zilla yelled.
They were about to close in when they suddenly slipped on the ice and hit the ice floor hard.
Ariel and Melody quickly hurried through the ice tunnels.
Several minutes later, Zilla and Raiju were trying to find them.
"I don't care what you say." Raiju said. "We bloody well better be careful."
"Yeah, that's right." Zilla said. "What we better be careful of is the huge, thundering macroeconomic bulk of your stupidity."
"I ain't takin' any more lip from you, mate." Raiju said.
"Oh, forget about that." Zilla said. "We have got 2 fricking mermaids to find and kill. Now get on with it!"
They then parted ways in different tunnels.
A few minutes later, Zilla was still searching for Ariel and Melody.
"Where are they?" He said.
Then a piece of ice shifting was heard behind him, and he looked back and smirked.
As Ariel was several yards from him and he snickered.
"Come here, you human-fish freak." Zilla said.
Zilla then made his way towards Ariel as she strangely didn't move, and then Zilla stepped on a weak section of ice and fell through a hole. He fell into another cavern, and then the ice he landed on broke and Zilla screamed as the ice chuck hits the ice wall. The ice chuck broke more, and then a large icicle cracked as Zilla's eyes widen and gasped as it came falling towards him and hits the ice.
Ariel looked down from the hole, and saw Zilla with his mouth wide open as the tip was fully in his mouth. A section of the icicle got caught which stopped the tip from piercing his throat. Zilla struggled and soon broke the piece off and spits it out.
"Eh!" Zilla exclaimed.
Ariel then giggled from that and crawls off.
Meanwhile, Raiju was still looking for them and sniffled a bit.
He then moves to the side of the wall trying to be sneaking like.
Then a throat clearing was as Raiju looked and saw Ariel and Melody a few yards away.
Raiju then tried a friendly approach.
"Stay." Raiju said slowly.
Ariel and Melody then crawled off, Raiju angrily huffed from that, and hurried after them.
Ariel and Melody hurried and then slid on an extra-slippery section of ice and slid to a bend, Melody then noticed the wall was thin and then smirked with an idea.
"Hey, Mom." Melody said.
She then whispered into her mother's ear as Ariel listened, and then smirked.
Raiju then appeared.
"Help!" Melody suddenly called out. "There's 2 mermaids you're not gonna get."
"We like to see you try." Ariel taunted. "Come and get us."
"You bug-" Raiju angrily growled and then charged.
Ariel and Melody then had casual looks as he rushed towards them.
"You come here!" Raiju yelled running and got on 2 legs. "I'm gonna get you, you 2 little-!"
Then Raiju slipped on the ice, and landed on his back screaming as he slid on the ice. Ariel and Melody watched as Raiju slid by screaming as he broke through the ice wall and slid across the ice screaming more as he hits a ledge of ice and then fell over a hundred feet and crashed the sea ice and into the water.
Ariel and Melody laughed their heads off not remembering ever seeing anything that hilarious before.
"Okay, okay, let's go." Ariel said catching her breath.
"Okay." Melody giggled and wiped a tear away.
They then hurried up a small hill of ice.
In the frozen sea, Raiju soon lifts his head out of the water with an ice piece on his head and shivers like crazy.
"Cold." Raiju shivered. "Cold. Ah."
Raiju then begins to pull himself out of the water.
Meanwhile, Ariel and Melody soon found a slope of ice leading to the sea ice, and then slid down the slope as a slide.
"Whoo-hoo!" Melody cheered.
They soon got to the end of it and flew in the air and landed in the water and swam off.
Meanwhile, Raiju grunted as he shivers crawling slowly on the sea ice.
And then he partly turns blue and completely freezes with icicles hanging off him.
Elsewhere, Slattern walks across the sea ice returning after making another kill and nears the sea mountain's peak.
"Good evening, sir." A voice said.
Slattern frowned and looked around, and then saw Zilla on a ledge by an opening on the mountain side.
"Good evening." Zilla greeted. "Hello."
"What are you doing up there?" Slattern asked.
"I'm- I was- I was just fetching the mermaids, Sire." Zilla stuttered.
"Oh, nice." Slattern said and then heads off but then stopped realizing what he said.
And then he turns back to him.
"And where... are... the mermaids?" Slattern asked.
"Oh! There." Zilla said. "You see, once again... Sire has, like a laser, gone straight to the heart of the issue. It's-It's-It's a quality I've always admired in her. "Where are the mermaids? Where are the mermaids?" Brilliant. Now, let me just say, um, right now... that I'm not... absolutely 100% certain... where the mermaids are. Uh, but..."
Slattern started to grow furious.
"But if you'll just give me a second, I'll check with my associate." Zilla said trying to reason him. "Uh, Raiju?"
"Get down from there and CATCH THOSE MERMAIDS!" Slattern yelled.
Zilla then quickly rushed off.
"Hopelessly stupid, pathetic fools." Slattern said heading off across the sea ice. "I'll find the bloody mongrels myself."
Meanwhile, Zilla and Raiju were searching through the fields of ice and walls trying to track Ariel and Melody down. And Raiju was panting still feeling cold as Zilla was all irritated.
"You just had to let those human-sardines get away, didn't you?" Zilla said irritated. "Never paying attention."
Raiju was angrily offended. "Well, where was you?" He retorted.
"Where wa- I was not splashing about in the sea!" Zilla snapped back. "You've infuriated the old bag. And if we don't get those mermaids back, then it's quite literally our heads!" They then got to a fork of an ice cliff. "Oh, come on! Right. We better split up. We'll cover more ground to find them."
"One of these days..." Raiju said.
Zilla turns to him.
"I'm gonna be full-up of you." Raiju finished.
"Aah!" Zilla made a dramatically look.
They then split up as Raiju shivered.
A few miles away, Ariel and Melody leaped out of the water and land on the sea ice.
"I think we're far enough now." Ariel said.
"So, what now?" Melody asked.
"I'm not sure, right now." Ariel said. "And I'm afraid we won't do anything more today."
Then a crunch in the snow was heard close by, they looked and saw it was only a Ringed Seal resting.
"It's just a seal." Melody sighed in relief.
Then footsteps were heard nearby as they looked and quietly gasped.
Something big was moving by big chunks of ice, and soon appearing was Slattern as he softly growled searching for them.
Ariel and Melody quietly moved behind a wall of ice, and Slattern growls lowly and then wanders ever closer to their hiding place.
Ariel and Melody remained as quiet as they could hoping he would walk by, and then Slattern appeared growling. And then all 3 unknowingly peered out to look.
Ariel and Melody carefully peaked out, and then ducked back seeing how close he was.
Slattern sniffed the air and looked down, and then roars out viciously and then strikes down.
Slattern snatches the seal and shakes it madly.
With Slattern distracted, Ariel and Melody quickly crawled off quietly and slid into the water.
Slattern finishes swallowing his meal whole, and then looked over to his right and growled.
The next morning, Ariel and Melody managed to get some sleep after finding a safe place inside a burrow dug by a Ringed Seal.
Normally these dens are used by mothers to hide their pups, but this one seems to be abandoned. Ariel soon stirred and woke up, and looked out through the hole and saw nothing but snow as far as she could see. And a lone Harp Seal resting by a large chunk of ice.
Ariel turned to her daughter as Melody was still asleep.
"Melody." Ariel gently said.
"Hmm?" Melody stirred and woke up.
"Come on, we better get going." Ariel said.
"Okay." Melody said and yawned.
Then she thought she feel something.
"Wait, you feel that?" Melody asked.
"What?" Ariel asked.
"Shh. Listen." Melody said.
They remained silent as they then felt the ice vibrate, and then another was feel as it was almost like footsteps.
Ariel then peaked outside, and then saw something coming towards them.
It was the large white predatory dinosaur on the prowl.
Ariel then ducked down into the hole hoping it hasn't seen her.
"What is it?" Melody asked.
"Shh." Ariel shushed.
They then carefully peaked out and watched the dinosaur walked by them being very quiet so it wouldn't heard them. The dinosaur nears the ice chunk the Harp Seal is hiding as the dinosaur softly growled.
The seal looked behind seeing the dinosaur's tail slithered by and quietly whimpered as the predator growled.
Suddenly the dinosaur swiftly swung her head knocking aside the ice chuck with tremendous strength and exposes the seal. And the ice chuck hits the ground as Ariel and Melody ducked down, and soon turn back to the seal.
The seal looked up at it's attacker with pure fear in it's face, and the dinosaur clamps her jaws down and lifts the helpless seal off the snow.
Ariel placed a hand over Melody's mouth and ducked back into the hole, and they quickly went through a hole leading to the sea underneath and watched as the shape of the dinosaur was seen above.
On the ice, the dinosaur nears the hole, and then lowers down on all 4s and examines the hole and let out a menacing growl nearing her snout at the hole. Ariel and Melody could actually hear the muffled growl above as they remained quiet unsure if she would hear them under the ice. The dinosaur sniffed the hole, and soon roars out and heads off as her enormous foot stomps over the hole.
And she heads off as Ariel and Melody watched her go.
"What is that?" Melody wondered.
"I'm not sure I wanna know." Ariel said. "Come on."
They then dove down heading to deeper water.
"Where do you think Gojira is?" Melody wondered.
"I really wish I knew." Ariel said unsure. "He could be anywhere in this ocean."
Then suddenly a rumble was heard nearby.
"What was that?" Melody said.
Suddenly a strong current of water caught them as it pulls them into a vortex, and they were pulled into a tunnel through the rocks.
"What's happening?!" Melody asked.
"I don't know!" Ariel yelled.
They then screamed as the current drags them further into the tunnel.
And then everything went black.
Back in Atlantica, unaware of Ariel and Melody's situation, Alana, Aquata, Adella, Andrina, Arista, Sebastian and Flounder were with Attina in the throne room.
"I seriously can't believe they left still." Attina said. "Why didn't I see this coming?"
"I guess we've slightly lost our connection with Ariel." Arista said.
"I guess you're right." Aquata said. "After 12 years, it's like we're dealing with someone we just met."
"And what about Melody?" Adella said. "She could barely protect her with those things out there."
"Well, sea monsters couldn't stop them." Flounder said knowing Ariel very well. "If they got caught, they would be smart to get out of trouble."
"But this is entirely different than from Ursula or Morgana, Flounder." Alana said turning to him. "They didn't had an army, or wiped out half a kingdom."
"We gotta go after them." Attina said.
"Go after them?" Andrina said.
"What choice do we have?" Attina said. "Slattern or Morgana could be right on top of them, right now."
"But, Attina, you're acting queen." Aquata reminded.
"I know, but, last I checked, a queen doesn't take orders." Attina said. "At least I know Dad didn't."
"But, Attina, what about our families?" Alana said.
Attina remained silent from that and sighed.
"We already lost Mom." Attina said. "We can't lose Ariel as well, or Melody."
They all remained uneasily silent.
"Look, you all don't have to come." Attina said. "But I have to find them."
She then swam off.
"Can't seem to remember the last time I've seen Attina like this." Flounder said concern of Attina.
"Atlantica has been quiet since Mom, I... don't know how things will handle with Ariel as well." Adella said uneasily.
Just outside Atlantica's border, Attina swims out but stopped and looked back and sighed.
"I'm sorry, Dad." Attina said.
She then swims off.
"Attina!" Aquata's voice called out.
Attina looked and saw all of her sisters swimming after her.
"You cannot go after them by yourself." Adella said.
"Guys, please, don't stop me." Attina pleaded.
"We're not stopping you." Aquata said.
"What?" Attina frowned.
"We're coming with you." Alana said.
"Guys, I really appreciate this." Attina said. "But all of us going together, it's too risky."
They then had puppy-dog pouting faces. "Hmm?"
"Oh, guys, come on." Attina said. "Not the puppy-dog pout."
They all blinked in unison.
"OK, alright, fine, fine." Attina said giving out.
"Still works after all these years." Adella chuckled.
"But, what about Sebastian?" Attina asked.
"Don't worry, he can handle a few days watching the kingdom." Andrina assured.
"Alright, we better get going." Attina said.
They then swam off.
