Daylight shines over the frozen landscape, and inside a shallow gap of a mountain, a layer of snow was over the group as they had taken shelter.
They were all silent as then Ariel was the first to wake up, and brushed some snow off her.
"What's that noise?" Ariel wondered breaking the silence.
Then Melody and everyone else woke up and brush the snow off them.
"There's no noise." Attina said.
"Where's Aquata?" Adella said noticing Aquata was missing.
Andrina then gasped. "Sometimes a brave mermaid will just slip away to die."
"Do you think she went to a better place?" Arista asked.
"Probably." Alana said.
"No, no. I think she went this way." Ariel said noticing a crawling drag impression in the snow.
"Oh." Arista turns to her.
They followed Aquata's tracks outside the cave as they saw something ahead.
"Wow." Melody gasped.
They all gasped as below was what was left of an abandon made-shift harbor from humans, probably left by hunters.
"Come on." Ariel said. "Let's go."
They begin to head down the hill as they muttered uneasily.
They soon made it to the harbor as the few remains of ships stood and buildings, and even old whale bones littered by the shore. Likely indicting this area was once a killing field, but this place almost looked it was suddenly abandoned when the hunters were making good kills and strangely vanish as soon as they arrived.
"Aquata!" Ariel called out as her voice echoed. "Aquata!"
They soon pass by an old hut with a few rusted harpoons and few whale bones inside.
"Hello?" Ariel called out. "Is there anyone there?"
"No... No need to shout." Attina said quietly.
"Somebody might hear you." Alana said as the last thing they want is some unwanted company.
Melody then caught a glimpse of what look like large claw marks on the side of a wall.
They continued following Aquata's path as they were near the shore.
"Hm. Her crawl don't look too good." Arista said.
"She rested here." Adella said noticing an impression in the snow.
"Now she's on her belly!" Andrina said.
"No, this way." Alana said.
Ariel looked at the sliding impression and spotted something up ahead on a strip of ice.
"There she is." Ariel said spotting her. "Aquata!"
They all soon saw her and headed over to her.
Aquata was on the end of the ice strip with an old ship prow stuck in ice sticking up with old netting caught. And was looking at something in the water as they finally caught up to her.
"Guys, look at this." Aquata said.
"What is it?" Ariel asked.
In the water, was the remains of a head from a bizarre creature they never seen before.
"Whoa, that's creepy." Andrina said.
"Something tells me Slattern's been here." Melody said.
"He's probably not far behind." Ariel said thinking he was still in the area.
"Yeah. Why would he leave this behind?" Alana wondered.
"I don't know." Arista said unsure.
Then Ariel noticed some ripples in the water. "Hey."
The head started to sink down as then Aquata noticed as a shadow as her eyes widen with fear.
The others froze as well as the shadow grew and they looked up as they saw something terrifying.
"Oh, that's not good." Arista said.
"Stay calm." Alana said nervously shaking.
"Okay." Andrina said.
In front of them was a Liopleurodon holding half of it's body straight up out of the water
"Stay calm." Alana said.
"That's not good." Arista said.
"Okay, don't stay calm!" Alana said giving out.
"Panic!" Arista exclaimed.
They begin to rush off as the Liopleurodon lowers down, and then suddenly a Mosasaur breaches out of the water and lands right on top of the ice bridge cutting off their escape route. Leaving them trapped on the ice floe. They huddled closely as the marine reptiles started to circle them.
"Oh, no, no!" Arista cried.
The Liopleurodon and Mosasaur then started spinning the ice floe around.
"Oh, they're making us appe-teasers." Adella said.
"They're appe-teasing us!" Aquata said.
Andrina nervously laughed. "We're all gonna die."
Then the Liopleurodon lunges bringing his head over snapping trying to get at the mermaids but missed as the floe started to tip over.
"Whatever you do, stay out of the water!" Ariel said.
"Stay out of the water." Attina said.
"Don't go in the water!" Andrina said.
They started to climb over the tipping ice floe, but Aquata slipped and fell.
"Aquata, don't go in the water!" Arista cried.
Aquata soon hits the water as they climbed over the rolling ice floe as the Liopleurodon moves away as the ice floe tips upward and then the prow rose up as Aquata was caught in the netting after falling in the water.
Ariel saw her struggling and quickly climbs up the prow to help her sister.
"Aquata, hang in there!" Attina yelled.
"Hang in there!" Adella said.
Ariel soon got to Aquata as the Mosasaur rose up and snaps his jaws barely missing Aquata.
"Get your dirty teeth off her!" Ariel yelled.
The Mosasaur then lunges and bites down on the prow's tip nearly missing Aquata's head. The reptiles lowers down as the broke tip of the prow broke off and the netting slipped off taking Aquata with it as she fell into the water.
"No, no, no!" Andrina cried.
"Stay out of the water!" Adella said.
Ariel then leaped off the prow.
"Ariel!" Attina yelled.
"Ariel!" Arista yelled.
"Mom!" Melody cried.
Ariel dove into the water, and quickly dives down as the Mosasaur follows her. Ariel quickly catches up to Aquata trying to break free from the net as the weights on it's edges were dragging her down. Ariel tries to pull the net off Aquata as it was completely tangled up, and soon it was dragging both of them down as the Mosasaur swam further below, and then swam upward with a powerful swing with his tail. The reptile grabs a section of net his mouth heading up pulling Ariel and Aquata with him.
At the surface, the others were trying to see where they were leaning near the edge as the Mosasaur leaps out of the water. And then swung his head shaking the net as Ariel was thrown aside, and then throws Aquata out as the Liopleurodon caught the net leaping into the air, he lands in the water as he tries to shake Aquata out from the net.
Nearby, Ariel rose to the surface.
"They playing mermaid-minton?" Arista asked.
"No, it's a show." Andrina said. "Dinner and a show."
Ariel begins to swim over to them, but then a Mosasaur rose up under her and tossed her in the air, and then swing his tail sending Ariel flying high in the air. And the Liopleurodon rose up in a back-flip and throws Aquata in the air.
"Aquata!" Ariel yelling flying by her.
The netting was around Aquata, and the net spun as then the weights caused part of the net to tear open a weak section as Aquata finally free.
"Rejoice!" Aquata yelled.
The Mosasaur leaps in the air with open jaws and snatches Aquata as she vanish inside his mouth.
Ariel saw this, and then the Liopleurodon appeared behind her as she saw him, and the Liopleurodon grabs her by her fins and then tossed her into the air.
The Mosasaur rose from the water, and then tossed Aquata unharmed out of his mouth as she was tossed in the air. The Mosasaur leaps in the air twirling as the Liopleurodon sends Ariel high flying in the air as the Mosasaur bats Aquata high up by his tail as the 2 were flying towards each other.
"Aquata!" Ariel yelled.
"Help!" Aquata yelled turning to her.
"Reach out!" Ariel yelled.
They then near each other and caught one another as they spun in the air as they fell.
"Thank you, my sister, thank you!" Aquata said gratefully.
Then the Mosasaur and Liopleurodon lunges out the water with open jaws ready to snatch them as they near each other. But Ariel and Aquata fell by them as the 2 giant reptiles hit into each other head-first, and they flew by each other as the Mosasaur's tail hits the ice floe sending the group in the air screaming.
They hit the water and started swimming for their lives leaping in and out of the water as the Mosasaur chased after them. And soon they leaped out of the water as the Mosasaur closes in and they landed on the sea ice and slid away as the Mosasaur was laying on the edge.
"I wasn't scared! I wasn't scared!" Andrina said.
Meanwhile, Ariel and Aquata were swimming for their lives as the Liopleurodon chased after them.
"Oh, my beautiful sister, thank you, thank you, thank you, thank you!" Aquata said as they swam.
The Lioplerurodon closes in as the 2 mermaid sisters near the Mosasaur's tail and then were thrown into the air. The Liopleurodon lunges out ready to snatch one of them, but ran into the Mosasaur as the Liopleurodon slid onto the edge of the ice as Ariel and Aquata landed and slid over to the others.
"Go, go, go, go, go!" Andrina yelled at the reptiles.
"Go, Aquata! You the girl!" Arista said.
The 2 marine reptiles growled as their spout heavy jets of mist from their nostrils as Aquata suddenly turns to them.
"ENOUGH!" Aquata yelled.
Everyone became silent.
"It's a bay day for you!" Aquata said to the 2 reptiles. "You dealing with Aquata now! And my girl, Ariel, here."
"You tell them, Aqua." Andrina said.
"Begone, demon lizard." Aquata said as the 2 reptiles started backing away suddenly. "Adios. Andiamo." The Liopleurodon slid into the water. "That's right. Boo-hoo!" The Mosasaur slid into the water as well. "You hightail it back to your mamas."
"How did she do that?" Andrina said amazed.
"Don't make me come into the water." Aquata continued taunting. "I'll come after your sons and daughters." A slight rumbling started as Andrina and Ariel looked back. "I'm gonna give you the bad eye."
Everyone else then looked back as Aquata continued taunting, but soon felt the rumbling and looked back as a large glacier wall as coming apart and towards them.
"Uh..." Aquata nervously grew.
They then started to move away as the sea ice started to break apart, and soon the glacier chunk hits the sea ice forming a giant wave as the group were tossed into the air. And the glacier settles at the surface, and the group soon leaped onto a nearby ice floe.
Shortly later, they were beginning to head back knowing time was running out.
"Man, I really hope we get back on time." Adella said.
"We may only have hours left." Aquata said. "Slattern probably knows you overheard his plan by now."
"We gonna be okay." Andrina said. "All we gotta do is get back before the dam breaks."
"How are we gonna do that?" Arista asked.
"Ariel? Ariel!" A voice yelled out.
"That sounded like Flounder." Alana said.
Then Flounder and Sebastian appeared.
"There!" Sebastian said spotting.
They then quickly swam over to each other.
"Oh, thank goodness you're all okay." Sebastian said relieved. "I don't know what Triton will do to me if anything happened to you."
"We're okay, Sebastian." Attina reassured. "Truly."
"What happened out there, anyway?" Flounder asked.
"We managed to find Slattern's kingdom." Ariel said.
"But we got captured." Melody said.
"Then we got away."
"Had a run-in with a dinosaur."
"Pulled down into a cavern."
"Found Gojira."
"Made it to an island."
Sebastian and Flounder turn to each other.
"Took Slattern's ship." Melody continued.
"Sailed to Prehistoria." Ariel continued as well.
"Met 2 dragons."
"Attacked by a scary black dinosaur."
"The mother dragon got her wing hurt."
"We helped tend it."
"Me and Draco chased by a black horned dinosaur and flew away."
"Got caught in a volcanic eruption."
"Met Blue and got chased by Slattern's goons and Morgana."
"Slattern's plan overheard and planning to flood home."
"Slid down a hill, caught in a blizzard, and, uh... finally found you and here we are." Melody finished.
Sebastian and Flounder stared with stunned looks, Attina, Alana, Aquata, Arista, Adella and Andrina were shocked of the things Ariel and Melody were caught in.
"You... found... Gojira?" Sebastian said.
"Yes." Ariel said.
"He's alive?" Attina said.
"Yeah, he was with us for a few days." Melody said.
"Where is he now?" Alana asked.
"We're not sure." Ariel said. "But we need to get back now."
"I overhead from Slattern's goons that a dam is made and is gonna flood home in just hours." Melody said.
"What?" Flounder said.
"We need to get home, now." Ariel said.
They then begin to swim off.
"Too bad we can't stop Slattern yourselves." Arista said.
"How you gonna do that?" Andrina asked.
"Cruel and unusually punishment?" Aquata inquired.
"Unimaginable torture?" Alana wondered.
"Imaginable torture?" Arista said.
"Ariel's singing?" Adella said.
"No!" They all exclaimed.
"Part of your world"...
"You're cracking the ice!" Andrina joked.
"Avalanche!" Aquata said.
Arista then laughed.
"Yes, okay." Ariel said slightly assumed. "Thank you."
The group continued on as they soon swam into a cave going through a large sea mountain.
They soon near the edge of a steep and deep cavern casting a strange greenish glow, the cavern was so deep they couldn't see how far down it goes.
Andrina grabs a rock, and held it over the edge, and drops it as they watched it sink down and watched it vanishing in the green glow. And soon heard a faint sound as the rock has reach the bottom.
"Can't see how far it goes." Adella said.
"Maybe I should go first." Ariel said. "And see where goes."
"Oh, no." Sebastian said firmly. "I'll be crab cake if something is waiting to snatch you down there. I'm joining you, mon."
"Me too." Flounder said.
"Same here." Attina said.
"Alright, everyone else, wait here." Ariel said.
Ariel, Attina, Flounder and Sebastian then dove down and soon vanish within the green glow.
Melody and her 5 other aunts remained silent as they waited.
Then, some lines of kelp moved above them with a creaking sound, and then a large whale ribcage appeared from green.
"Mom, you okay?" Melody called out.
"We're okay!" Ariel yelled as she and Attina were pulling some kelp reeds. "That green glow is hard to swim through."
"All right, now, pile on, everyone." Sebastian called out.
"Couldn't be easier."
The ribcage nears the edge as they turn to one another.
A few moments later, light creaking occurred as the ribcage was held over the cavern as it got stuck.
"Don't panic!" Sebastian called out. "Just some, uh, technical difficulties."
Ariel, Attina, Flounder and Sebastian struggled to pull the reed.
In the ribcage, everyone was waiting patiently.
"Hmm. Still wondering what this green light is." Arista said.
"Stay here." Adella said.
They then remained silent for a moment.
"You know, I got a strange feeling about this place." Arista suddenly said in a funny high-pitched voice.
Adella then turns to her. "You sound ridiculous." She said in a high-pitched voice as well.
"Me?" Arista said. "You should hear you!"
The 2 then started laughing as they all stared.
"All right, all right." Arista said. "And a-1, and a-2."
They then turn to them.
Christmas, Christmastime is here..."
"Are you crazy?" Andrina said.
The 2 laughed as Aquata then inhales testing the water but felt fine.
"I don't feel anything." Aquata said in a high-pitched voice. "Huh?" She heard herself and turns to Andrina and Alana.
Then Aquata suddenly started laughing as Andrina and Alana stared, and Arista and Adella stared as well as Melody couldn't help but snickered after hearing her aunt's voice and laugh. Then she, Arista and Adella burst into laughing as Aquata continued laughing as well.
"That is so disturbing." Adella said as Arista held her arm as she laughed.
The 4 continued laughing their heads off.
Nearby, Sebastian crawls onto the kelp reed hearing them laugh.
"Stop laughing, all of you!" Sebastian called out.
"'Stop laughing, all of you!'" Adella mocked.
They continued laughing as Andrina then shushed them, and then peers out turning to him with a smugly smirked as well as everyone else.
"We'd be jammin', mon!" Andrina said in a high-pitched Jamaican accent.
They all burst into laughing as Sebastian huffed.
"They're just laughing." Ariel said. "What's so bad about that?"
"They died laughing!" Sebastian said pointing downward.
Ariel, Attina and Flounder looked down from the edge, and then suddenly gasped with shocked looks.
Below was a number of skeletons of sea creatures as they all had big smiles meaning they died from laughter.
"Stop laughing!" The 3 yelled out.
"Do you... do you know what's funny, though?" Andrina asked clearing a tear away and laughed a bit. "We're... we're trying to stop Slattern, and now we're all gonna die!"
They all laughed.
"I know!" Alana said in a high-pitched voice and laughed.
"And I don't even like Slattern." Arista said. "Or Sebastian." She teased.
"Who does? He's a worried-some crab cake." Adella joked. "And Slattern's an idiot."
"How rude!" Melody said in a high-pitched voice. "And I thought Morgana was crazy."
They burst into laughing again.
"Thanks for getting me into this mess." Aquata said to Andrina. "It's the most fun I've had in years."
"Thank you for hitting the ice wall." Andrina said. "THAT WAS TOTALLY SUPER!"
They all remained silent as they stared.
And then they burst into laughing as Aquata leans on Andrina and pats her shoulder. Then suddenly the ribcage jostled and rattled as they froze and looked up.
Attina and Sebastian were trying to get the ribcage free as they were holding their breaths. And then Andrina and Alana reached up and started tickling them.
"Coochie, coochie, coo!" Andrina said.
"Stop that!" Attina and Sebastian said in unison.
They then gasped clapping their mouths.
They then got in the ribcage.
"Don't you see?" Sebastian and Attina said in unison. "WE'RE ALL GONNA DIE!" They yelled in high-pitched voices.
Everyone stared with frighten looks for a few moments, but then they all laughed hysterically after hearing them.
And soon almost as if the laughing was contagious, Attina and Sebastian started laughing as well.
Ariel and Flounder meanwhile watched with deadpan looks as they heard their laughs.
Ariel then sighed. "We gotta do everything, huh?" She turned to Flounder.
She and Flounder then went to the stalagmite, and then pushed hard as it broke loose and tips over catching the kelp reeds.
The ribcage jostled upward.
"Whoo-hoo!" They all cheered.
The ribcage then slid down the reeds as they laughed.
"Sometimes, I loose my pillows!" Arista confessed holding her hand up as Adella doubled over.
"That's all right." Adella said as Arista wiped a tear. "Sometimes I loose your pillows!"
They then laughed hysterically as the ribcage emerges from the glow and hits the edge as they were thrown out and hit the seafloor as they laughed more and soon their normal voices returned as Attina, Melody and Andrina stacked on each other laughed raspy catching their breath, but then froze and looked up as Ariel stared at them with a deadpan look.
"Uh... I'm not sure how much of that you could hear." Andrina awkwardly said.
"Oh, I heard all of it." Ariel said arching a brow.
"Right. Yeah." Andrina said awkwardly as she, Melody and Attina got up.
"You loose my pillows?" Arista said to Adella.
"That was gas talk, sister." Adella said and swims off.
"Well, uh, better get moving." Andrina said as laughing was heard.
"Aren't we forgetting something?" Alana inquired.
In the cavern, Sebastian has somehow got caught on the kelp line and dangles upside-down.
"We'd be jammin', mon, Your Majesty!" Sebastian yelled out and laughed. "I'm so lonely!"
Later, they were now only a few miles from Atlantica.
"Okay, shouldn't be too much longer." Flounder said.
"I hope we're too late." Melody said.
"As long we get back on time, we'll get everyone out in time." Ariel said.
Then indistinct chatter was heard close by and was getting closer, as they quickly rushed to a nearby kelp forest. And peaked through the reeds as Undertow, Zilla and Raiju appeared.
"Man, I can't believe you lost that girl." Undertow said.
"Hey, at least I hadn't lost my mind." Zilla said annoyed.
He then smashed Undertow's and Raiju's heads together and Raiju shook his head.
"Nevermind that, Slattern wants us back in a couple hours, after that, Eric and those 2 little mermaids of his can kiss their home goodbye." Raiju said.
The group turn to each other knowing that time was running out.
"And any chance we can rest for a little? I'm getting a hole in my back." Raiju tiredly said.
"Funny, I look like you got a hole in your head." Zilla taunted.
He and Undertow then laughed as Raiju glared at them.
"Oh, yeah?" Raiju said angrily and grabs a large branch of coral. "How'd you like a hole in your-"
Zilla ducked as Raiju whacks Undertow on the head as he had a dazed look, and soon shook his head growling. He then took the coral branch, he attempts to strike but Zilla simply stopped him and gives him an old bone and took the coral branch and whacks Raiju on the head.
"All right, all right, save your energy." Zilla said. "You never know when you might need it."
Attina silently got the others' attention and made a gesture, and they quietly begin to swim away. But then a sudden current flows by as the kelp reeds were stirred, and then 2 suddenly got caught around Melody's tail as she gasped a bit startled as Flounder quickly clapped his fins over mouth as they looked back.
Zilla, Raiju and Undertow suddenly perked as if they heard her.
"What was that?" Raiju said.
They then looked around.
"Nothing." Zilla said.
They begin to head off as Ariel and Flounder struggled to free Melody from the kelp reeds, and soon they pull her free as they were thrown back and bumped into the others as they hit against a large boulder. A rock above them was jostled and then rolls off and hits the side.
Melody gasped as she tries to get it as it might give them away. she made a lunge for it and nears it, but missed the grab as the rock rolls off and out of the kelp forest.
It was enough to get Zilla, Raiju and Undertow's attention as they looked around.
"Something's wrong here." Zilla said.
"With you definitely." Raiju muttered.
Zilla shoved Raiju aside and looks around near the kelp forest, and then noticed the rock and growled realizing they weren't alone.
Melody quietly started backing away as Zilla starting to peer his head through the thick reeds unaware of Melody just in front of him as she kept dead still.
Everyone kept dead quiet as though quietly whimpered in fear of her daughter's safety.
Zilla then growled more as he looks around carefully, and then he caught the faint shade of red among the green kelp. And then he swiftly moves the kelp aside revealing Melody.
"You again?!" Zilla growled.
Zilla then charged as he roared and Melody quickly took off as Zilla chased her.
"Go! Go!" Melody yelled. "Hurry!"
Melody swam towards the rocks with Zilla right behind her trying to snatch her.
Melody swam for her life as Zilla roared chasing her.
The others quickly hurried as they pass by some rocks, and then Flounder got stuck by some rocks.
"Move it, Flounder!" Melody yelled.
She quickly started pushing him through the gap.
Behind them, Zilla closes in as he roared.
Melody quickly pushed Flounder through the gap as he shot out, she was about to squeeze through when suddenly she was pulled as Zilla caught by her tail fins as he drags her away.
"MELODY!" Ariel yelled.
Screams were heard nearby as it got the attention of someone.
"Melody! Oh, no!" Ariel's voice cried.
Zilla drags Melody further away as she tries to pull free, but then Raiju shoves him aside pinning Melody's tail under his foot as he turns to her. But then Zilla snapped at him, and then they started fighting as Undertow joins in as then roaring as heard as then suddenly Gojira charges from nowhere shoving the 3 away as Melody quickly backs away.
"I'll hold them off!" Gojira yelled as the 3 struggled to get up. "You help the others!"
Melody quickly up and and swims off as the 3 recovered and got up as Zilla roars out and they turn to Gojira.
Melody quickly swims over to the others as Ariel hugs her as roaring was heard and turn to the fight, and they all swam off.
Gojira roars loudly at the 3 as his dorsal plates flashed. Zilla roars back at him as then Raiju charges attempting to attack, but Gojira quickly turned and swung his tail striking Raiju as he was knocked back against a rock and roars.
Gojira then charges up as a pulsating was heard, and then fires a blast stream as it hits the sand creating a large cloud of sand as Zilla, Raiju and Undertow were knocked. And Gojira took the chance and swims off.
The cloud of sand soon settles as Zilla, Raiju and Undertow soon recovered and saw they were gone.
"Where are they?" Zilla said looking around.
"Oops." Raiju said.
"Just wait till I catch her again." Zilla growled. "I'll... I'll..."
He then swatted his left hand at a rock breaking a section off and growled.
The group continued as Ariel soon looked back.
"I... I think we lost them." Ariel said.
"Look! Atlantica!" Adella said.
Barely in view, Atlantica can be seen.
"Okay, we better hurry." Attina said.
"We'll warn Eric and evacuate the village." Ariel said.
Ariel swam off as Melody followed.
"Be careful!" Attina said.
Attina and the rest of her sisters and Sebastian and Flounder quickly swam back to Atlantica.
Before long, Ariel and Melody soon leaped onto the beach near the castle and were soon both human again.
"Glad to be home." Melody said.
"Yeah, me too." Ariel said. "Come on, let's hurry."
They then headed to the castle, and soon they saw Eric with Max.
Melody gasped seeing them. "Dad!"
Eric looked back and saw his wife and daughter.
"Melody? Ariel!" Eric said and rushed other to them.
They soon joined in a tight hug as Max barked happily.
"Oh, I was so worried." Eric said relieved. "What happened?"
"It's a long story." Melody said.
"Look, we'll explain later." Ariel said. "Right now, we need to everyone out of here. Slattern's about to unleash a flood to destroy the kingdom."
"What?" Eric said in disbelief. "How long do we have?"
"Not too much longer." Melody said. "Slattern could be weaken the dam further north right now."
"We better hurry." Eric said.
They then hurried up the staircase to the castle.
Before long, the whole village was being evacuated and heading to higher ground to the nearby as they were soon near the foothills.
"Okay, keep it moving." Eric said. "Keep it moving. We're gonna get everyone out."
"We'll everyone to safety soon." Ariel said.
Most the villagers have made it as many were still far behind.
As they were heading off, Melody suddenly noticed her locket is somehow missing. She looked around thinking it must have come loose somehow and dropped somewhere.
Melody looked back as her parents were busy escorting the evacuation crowd, and she then reluctantly heads to find her locket.
Several minutes later, Melody headed further back down the trail trying to find her locket.
"Come on, where is it?" Melody said.
"Melody?" Sebastian's voice said.
Melody looked around and then saw Sebastian close by.
"Sebastian, what are you doing here?" Melody asked.
"Your Aunt Attina has sent me to check on you and your parents." Sebastian said. "And I also found this." He brought out Melody's locket.
"My necklace!" Melody beamed.
She took it and placed it on.
"Come on, we better hurry back." Melody said.
Suddenly, distant rumbling was heard as they froze and looked around.
Many miles away to the north, the glacier stood as crackling was heard.
Cracks were already lined across a large section as Slattern's blade sit on top of the wall. And Slattern stood watching the distance.
"Time's up, Daughter of Ariel." Slattern said.
He then grabs his blade and pulls out of the ice and heads off.
Below, a Pteranodon was resting on a rock column not far from the glacier. But loud crackling was heard as it look around, and then turns to the ice wall as then a broken section of ice shifted. The Pteranodon knew it wasn't good as it shifted more, and then it looks to another section as it broke and water gushes out. The pterosaur turns to another section as 2 pieces of ice broke off as water gushed out. And another section broke off as well as a large section.
The Pteranodon screeched and then quickly takes off into the air as suddenly the glacier started to break apart as thousands of tons of water rushed out from the broken wall.
The water swell soon grows in size as it rushed off heading south.
Within seconds, the wave reaches the northern region of Prehistoria rumbling as water rushed over and trees were knocked down.
A herd of dinosaurs ran for their lives as a Brachiosaurus bellows out, and soon the wave washes over the dinosaurs as it continues south.
At a higher region, Rhaegal and Draco watch in horror as the wave continues on.
Back south, The villagers continued heading to higher ground as Ariel and Eric were trying to find Melody after seeing she was gone.
"I don't see her anywhere." Ariel said.
"Maybe she's already up ahead." Eric said.
Then suddenly the ground shook as indistinct murmuring was heard among the crowd as they looked around and nervous kids huddled close to their parents.
Then some rocks started to rumble and crackled as then a section of mountain came loose and collapsed.
They remained silent for a moment as then they all screamed and ran for their lives knowing what was coming.
"Hurry, this way!" Eric yelled. "Come on! Get going."
Elsewhere, Melody and Sebastian ran through some rocks Melody hoped would be a shortcut.
"There it is!" Melody said spotting the villagers.
"Melody!" Sebastian cried as a few rocks fell near him. "Oh! Whoa!"
Melody then gasped as a large boulder above her came loose and comes falling down towards her. They both screamed as cringed their eyes shut as the boulder crashes on top of some rocks stopping it from crushing them. Melody soon looked and saw the boulder, and looked back as a boulder suddenly drops down blocking the way they came from.
"Whoa!" Sebastian yelled as they took off running.
"Come on, come on! Run!" Melody yelled.
They both hurried to the remaining opening panting, and then Melody saw a boulder coming down. They both yelled as they forced to stop as the boulder hits the ground in front of them.
Melody and Sebastian soon saw they were trapped, and they then desperately try to push the boulder as it was too heavy to even be budged.
"Push!" Sebastian said strained pushing the boulder.
Melody saw it was no use they would even budge the boulder, she then noticed a small gap above them at a corner with sunlight peeking through.
"You gotta go, Sebastian." Melody said removing her bracelet.
"Listen, girl, I will not leave you in here." Sebastian said firmly.
Melody then grabs Sebastian and climbs to the gap.
"I'm not asking." Melody said.
"Melody... no!" Sebastian cried.
Melody stuffs Sebastian into the gap, and pushed him out the other side and he fell to the ground along with her bracelet. Sebastian then got up and grabs it.
"Melody, don't worry!" Sebastian yelled. "I'm going for help. Stay here."
"Duh." Melody said from inside.
Sebastian then rushed off as fast as his legs to carry him as a trail leads to the nearby villagers.
Further north, the wave rumbled as it continues south.
And Cretaceous and Maelstrom were following it as Slattern has given them a job to do.
Meanwhile, Sebastian has finally made it to the villagers as shrieks and screams fill the air.
"Help me!" Sebastian yelled. "Help! Somebody help!" He leaped onto a fleeing horse. "Ariel!" He spotted Ariel.
Ariel was just ahead as she was still looking for Melody.
Sebastian quickly rushed through the fleeing crowd.
"Ariel!" Sebastian yelled.
He quickly rushed to Ariel and quickly climbs up her dress as she saw him and scoops him into her hands.
"Ariel! It's Melody." Sebastian said. "She's trapped in a cave."
Ariel's eyes widen, and then she rushed off as Max who was close by as well as Scuttle saw her and followed them.
Sebastian quickly got to the trail and waited as Ariel followed him as Max and Scuttle were right behind them.
Ariel soon saw the rocks and blocked cave where Melody is trapped in, but then she looks at the distant shoreline as the water suddenly pulls back as the horizon looked it was growing.
They all watched as the flood was coming as Ariel's eyes widen.
Soon they all rushed down the trail, and soon the wave washes over the area where Atlantica is below. The group ran as soon the water level dropped low enough to expose a few old ships as the tidal wave washed over them.
Sebastian and Ariel ran as then a rock drops in front of them as they halted to a stop as they yelled.
Ariel then saw the blocked cave just ahead as then the tidal wave washes over the rocks as Ariel watched with widen eyes. But then rushed off as she and Sebastian hurried to a rock arch, and the wave washes over as the rocks broke apart and Sebastian and Ariel yelled as they fell.
Max and Scuttle halt to a stop as the edge as they watched the flood below.
In the cave, Melody gasped as water started flowing in as it was soon up to her ankles.
Outside, Sebastian swam over to a branch and climbs on it.
Nearby, Ariel gasped as she rose out of the water now a mermaid has she had Melody's bracelet. She then looked to the blocked cave as broken trees and other debris flow by.
Ariel then saw a log near her, and swam over to it and grabs it, and swam to the cave. She soon nears the cave and slams one end of the log into a gap.
"Melody!" Ariel yelled.
Inside, Melody was pushing the boulder when she heard her mother's voice.
"Mom?" Melody said.
Ariel then started pushing on the log to get the boulder loose.
Meanwhile, Sebastian was still on the branch as a piece of bark hits as he held on.
"Help!" Sebastian cried.
"I'll save you!" Scuttle said.
Scuttle then jumps on the rock diving down, but hits an ice floe headfirst. The ice floe broke in 2 and Scuttle lands in the water on his back completely unconscious.
"Great." Sebastian complained. "Who's gonna save him?"
Scuttle flows towards Sebastian, and he soon grabs him by his beak.
"You really need to brush." Sebastian said smelling his breath.
At the rock, Max watched as he barked out, and then suddenly Draco appeared and landed after Rhaegal told him to find a safer place. Though reluctant, Draco flew south and soon saw Sebastian and Scuttle in trouble. And the branch was too small for him to get close enough to fly and grab.
Draco soon thought of the only option and rushed to the edge but halts as he has never swim before.
Draco then groaned. "Okay, okay, okay." He said. "Jump in... now." But he hesitates and groaned. "Come on, 'fraidy lizard. Come on. You can do this. You can do this. You can do this."
Sebastian trying to pull Scuttle on the branch slipped.
"No!" Sebastian cried grabbing Scuttle's beak and the branch.
"Trust your instincts." Draco said building the confidence. "Attack the water. I am not your prey. I am not your prey. I am not your prey."
He then jumps over the edge yelling.
He soon hits the water and sank down and struggles to swim upward.
He soon surfaces and struggles to stay afloat.
Meanwhile, Melody groaned as she was still trying to push the boulder as she was now up to her knees in water as it continues rising.
Outside, Ariel was still pushing the log trying to pry the boulder loose.
Sebastian meanwhile was still holding onto the branch and Scuttle as he was losing his grip on the branch.
Nearby, Draco was trying to swim as he soon straightens out, and started to swim over.
The water level was almost over the branch as he held on, but soon lost his grip on the branch as they both were carried off. But Draco quickly caught him and held onto the branch with his talons.
Sebastian held onto Scuttle but soon lost his grip, he then climbs onto Draco's head as he then dove under.
Scuttle sinks down as Draco appeared and grabs him and swims back up.
Soon, Draco grabs hold onto a ledge and they climbed out and lay on the rock exhausted with spluttered coughs and sighed.
"I definitely thank you, son." Sebastian said to Draco. "You surely are brave."
"Nothing to it." Draco said. "I actually had a little help with a friend of mine. Who happens to be part mermaid."
Sebastian stared for a moment, but then realized who he meant.
Meanwhile, Ariel was trying to get the boulder loose as the water continues rising.
She then dove under.
In the cave, Melody was now near the cave roof as the water kept rising.
And she was fighting to keep an gap open as she manages to knock some rocks aside and reaches her arm out.
Underwater, Ariel continued pushing on the log, but soon heads up.
Ariel surfaced as Draco, Sebastian, Scuttle and Max got to a ledge nearby.
"There she is." Draco said.
Ariel swam over to the gap was Melody's arm was out.
"Melody! Hold onto me." Ariel said and grabbed her daughter's hand.
Inside, Melody panted as the water continues rising.
Ariel tried to think of something while comforting her daughter, but then she was suddenly pulled underwater.
And Melody felt the sudden slip of her mother's hand pulled away.
"Mom-!" Melody cried.
The water soon reaches her chin as Melody started to panicked and breathes heavily with the little air left.
Underwater, Cretaceous drags Ariel by her tail fins in his mouth as he drags her down into the depths.
The water rises over the gap, and Melody's arm slipped back into the cave.
Now Ariel can only hope that Melody was able to take a deep enough breath, and that she can make it back to her in time.
Cretaceous drags Ariel down to the bottom and released her and swam off as Ariel soon saw Maelstrom swam by her. And Cretaceous swam by as they circled her, and then Ariel saw Maelstrom charging towards her and rams against hard. Ariel soon recovered and saw Cretaceous rushing and slams against her, Ariel sank a bit but soon shook her head and saw Cretaceous circling back and lunges. But Ariel quickly tail-whips him away knocking him aside, and she quickly heads up the surface.
At the surface near the ledge, Ariel surfaced as she gasped.
Draco, Max, Scuttle and Sebastian saw her, but soon saw she was in trouble.
"Ariel, they're behind you!" Draco yelled.
Cretaceous and Maelstrom's backs skim the surface as they went under.
Ariel turns where they were, and narrows her eyes and then dove back under.
Ariel dove to a depth and soon saw Cretaceous and Maelstrom rushing towards her, and she quickly swims off.
Ariel quickly swims back over to the log lodged in the boulder, and Cretaceous and Maelstrom begin to close in.
Ariel soon got the log and turns back to Cretaceous and Maelstrom and glares at them planning to use herself as bait.
Cretaceous and Maelstrom begin to close in and let out muffled growls with open jaws and they approached her. Once close enough, Ariel quickly swims out of the way as the 2 reptiles bite down on the log missing her.
Their momentum of them hitting the log was enough to pry the boulder loose. Ariel swam out of the way as Cretaceous and Maelstrom wrestled the log, and then the boulder lands on top of them and sinks down along with a few other boulders.
Ariel watched the sinking boulders for a few moments, and then turns to the cave.
On the rock ledge, Draco, Scuttle, Sebastian and Max looked out at the water shuddering trying to spot Ariel and Melody as they hoped and prayed they were okay.
As they looked around, nearby, Ariel and Melody suddenly leaped over the water as their hair whipped back as Melody coughed. As Ariel had found Melody just in time and got the bracelet on her and she became a mermaid just as she was close to drowning.
"There they are." Scuttle said spotting them.
"Yes." Sebastian cheered.
"Yeah." Draco smiled.
Scuttle and Sebastian high-five each other and they cheered and hooted and headed to the edge.
Ariel held Melody as they swam over to the ledge.
"Whoo-hoo!" Scuttle cheered as they got to the edge. "Whoo-hoo-hoo!"
Ariel and Melody soon near the ledge, and soon Draco helped Melody onto the ledge.
"I thought I'd never see you again." Sebastian said relieved and hugged her.
Melody smiled and turns to her mother as Ariel climbs onto the ledge and smiled.
Draco then saw the water level starting to rise pass the ledge.
"Maybe we should save the happy moment on higher ground." Draco said.
Ariel and Melody soon swam off as Draco and Scuttle flew in the air as Sebastian was on Draco's head.
Later at night, the entire kingdom were resting at a flat area on a plateau as the flood waters had rose high to reach just a few feet from a nearby ledge.
Villagers had managed to put together made-shift camps, and families huddled close together by campfires to stay warm.
Ariel, Eric and Melody were by the edge of the water, as Attina, Alana, Aquata, Arista, Adella and Andrina came by to check on them. Atlantica was fortunate to be deep enough from the wave, but sadly shocked of seeing their sister's home hundreds of feet underwater. They recently got some news that Triton is started to get better now.
"I can't believe Slattern has did this." Ariel said.
"I know, but... at least we're together." Flounder said.
"Yeah." Melody said. "I just... hope there's a way out of this."
"Well, if I know my sister well, I'm sure she can help us get through this." Attina said.
Ariel smiled from that.
A couple hours later, everyone was asleep.
But Melody was still up as she was sitting by the water starring at the distance and softly sighed.
"Melody?" Ariel's voice said.
Melody looked over and saw her parents.
"You okay?" Eric asked.
"Yeah." Melody said. "I just... couldn't sleep right now."
Ariel and Eric went over to their daughter as Ariel placed a blanket over Melody's shoulders.
"It's sure been a while we had a moment of the 3 of us looking at the stars." Eric said.
"Yeah." Ariel said.
"Even before all this happened." Melody said.
They remained silent for a moment.
"You know, I'm not sure if you ladies know this, but I think you don't know what day it is." Eric said.
"Day? What are you- Oh, I forgot!" Ariel said. "It's Christmas."
"Christmas already?" Melody said in disbelief she forgot.
"Christmas Day as for a few minutes now." Eric said.
Melody sadly groaned. "Well this is great. We can't celebrate Christmas this year with everything going on."
"True." Eric said. "But... I think I have something that might cheer you up." He reached into his pocket.
"Really?" Melody said turning to her father.
Eric then brought out a small present.
"Merry Christmas, sweetie." Eric said.
Melody took the gift, and opened it, and then gasped in amazement as she brought a necklace with a mermaid.
"Oh, it's beautiful." Melody said. "Thank you."
"We know it's not like it was back home, but..." Ariel said.
"We can always make it better." Eric said.
"No." Melody said lightly smiled. "You got it just right. It's not about how many gifts you get, it's about who you get them from."
"Oh." Ariel smiled.
The royal family then joined together in a group, and Melody looked up at the stars and smiled as a shooting star streaked across the sky.
