Dimitri and Rose have finally given into each other in the cabin, only to have their small moment of bliss interrupted but an attack on St.V the guardians are able to hold them off but not without losing both Moroi and Dhampir to the clutches of the Strigoi. How will the rescue mission end and what twists and turns await Rose and Dimitri in the aftermath.

2. Chapter 2

Me: Hey Rose do I own Va?

Rose: Um yeah you wish.

Me:Well there you have it folks I don't own anything but the plot

Chapter: Two Nightmares

The infirmary is in complete chaos from the aftermath of both the attack and rescue mission. I didn't realize how many people had been hurt but the entire lobby is full of staff , students and guardians all needing or giving medical attention. No one is manning the desk but I spot the list of names and rooms helping myself. I search through landing on room 205 that's where they had taken him. No one pays me much mind as I make my way up the stairs and slip into the sanitary white room. My heart drops straight to the floor as I see Dimitri. His arm is wrapped in bandages, his shirtless body is blue and red completely battered and torn. Bandages wrap around his waist but red is still spotting through. Worse than all that are the tubes trailing down his throat moving his chest up and down in rhythm with the beeps coming from the machines around him. Warm tears race down my face as I take the seat next to the bed taking his limp hand in mine.

"Come on comrade, you're a God you've got to wake up, please wake up." I beg trying to hold back the endless tears, but they fall anyway uncontrolled until exhaustion takes over.

I don't know how long I spend in the dreamless sleep but I don't stir until a gentle hand pulls me back into the room. Alberta looks down at me with a mixture of understanding and wonder swirling through her expression. "Rose, I think you better start at the beginning."

"I don't really know how to start." stuttering I wipe the sleep and tears from my eyes. "I guess it started when he first came to bring us back to the academy. That first time I saw him there was a spark, something just clicked into place. He wouldn't admit it but I knew he felt the same way. The charm Victor gave me was a lust charm that made us attack each other just not in the way we let everyone believe. " I laugh a little thinking about how Dimitri had explained the spell. " We tried so hard to fight it, I tried to be with Mason. I even told him to take Tashas offer and I meant it. I just wanted him to be happy. He wouldn't though he said he couldn't give in to someone else when his heart wasn't in it, he knew it wouldn't be fair. Just like I knew it wouldn't be fair to Mason if I kept leading him on." my heart aches thinking Mase and more tears fall. "Yesterday when the darkness was too strong Dimitri pulled me to the cabin and we… Well, we gave up trying to run from each other. I just got him to be mine and now I'm going to lose him Alberta what am I going to do." I feel like the lost little girl who was first dropped off at the academy.

Her arms wrap around me pulling me into a hug. "I know I should be angry, actually I should be furious but I don't really see how lecturing you on mentor student relationships is going to benefit you right now." pulling away her eyes meet mine "Rose…. Dimitri lost a lot of blood and with the blow to the head he's in a coma and no one is sure when he'll wake up….that is if he wakes up."
