"The first time I heard of the Destroyer was when I was a little girl." Diana said.

Everybody was still sitting in the crater, recovering from their scuffle. The most injured was Superman. All sorts of emotions were flowing through him at this point. Never, in all the years he had been defending Earth had he ever felt such pain. His healing factor was slowly easing the pain but he barely noticed it. The only thing he could comprehend was how utterly defenceless and weak he felt against that punch. Not even Darkseid could pack so much force behind his fist.

Next to him was Atom still trying to recover his body mass. Miraculously his core had not imploded from the overcharge. Thinking back to the energy he had tried to absorb Bardock, he recalled the sheer potency of it. What sort of energy was it? Bioenergy? No...with how concentrated it was, it was unlikely. He strained his ears however to hear what Diana was saying.

"What is the destroyer?" Karen asked. Diana sat on her legs, rubbing her sword. Casting her eyes over the destruction around her, she sighed.

"I first heard of him when I was probably eight. At that time I would run around outside the castle and in the towns, mixing with my sisters and having fun. We Amazons have always worshipped the Olympian gods, and we always revered Zeus as the greatest of them. There really aren't many warriors left from the ancient times apart from my mother and a few others. But one time I heard one of the old warriors talking about a god so powerful, he was able to destroy a planet with a tap of a finger."

"Impossible!" shouted Marvel. "Such a being can't exist."

"I've heard similar stories as well." stated John. "I just thought they were drunken idiots high on too much liquor, but I once heard a few lanterns talking about a cosmic entity that could vaporise galaxies in a single moment." Everyone's eyes widened.

J'onn rubbed his chin. "Now that I think about it, there was an ancient legend back on Mars about a god of destruction. The legend says that it was actually him that introduced technology to us. I just took it as some fairy tale."

"A very funny coincidence isn't it, that everyone seems to have heard about such a being even on different worlds. Though can someone like that really exist?" Batman put his thoughts forward. Diana's behaviour was already worrying him. First Bardock and now some sort of Destroyer god? Speaking of which, they should all have been hunting the alien but here they were having story time!

"He does exist! I was curious about this story so I went to my mother with it. All she did was send me to my quarters and when I woke up the next morning, the old warrior that had been talking about the Destroyer was nowhere to be found."

"Foul play?" Clark asked. He really didn't like where this conversation was going.

"I don't know. But I was told never to speak of such blasphemous things ever again. And I didn't. From then on I trained to be one of the greatest amazons that ever lived and I lived my life in servitude to Zeus. Nothing was ever said about the destroyer god again...until he visited us a few decades later..."

On an island that continuously changed in location and appearance, crowds of women and young girls were hustling and bustling along the streets when suddenly a figure dropped from the sky right into the middle of the town. His landing created a massive crater with deep cracks spreading our many metres in diameter.

"Male!" spat one of the women. Picking up her bow she drew an arrow. "How did you get on our island?!" Around him, all the other women drew their weapons, ranging from bows to swords to spears.

Bardock smiled. "Well rapists. I can see exactly why you lot are regarded as primitive savages by most. Not that it matters. You'll face judgement soon enough."

The first amazon hissed and released her arrow. But Bardock phased out of sight and the arrow struck one of her sisters right in the eye. She watched in horror as the other woman dropped dead to the floor, blood spurting out of her head. Suddenly the same man appeared in front of her and lifted her up by the throat.

Her sisters moved in to help her, but a click from the stranger's finger released a devastating shockwave which knocked them all backwards and the ground was overturned. She watched as the shockwave spread out through the area, taking trees and houses with it. Terror began to grip her heart as she stared into fiery orange eyes.

"Where is your leader?"

"His name was Lord Moscoe. At first we though he was some sort of creation of man."

"Why would you think that?" asked Flash.

"He was a large green robotic being that donned some sort of Egyptian headrest or something similar. We tried to kill him... but a snap from his finger turned the first rank of my sisters to dust. Our island used to be larger, but that click alone destroyed a large portion of it."

"What happened next?" asked Batman fixated on her story. This Destroyer god was beginning to worry him. If such a being with such power existed...well it would seem that the universe was lot bigger than he thought.

"Nothing. We knew we were outclassed, so we threw our weapons down and my mother threw herself on her knees begging for our lives. Surprisingly we were spared. Apparently, Lord Moscoe couldn't be bothered killing us off according to his angel attendant Camparri..."

"Angel attendant?" Supergirl raised an eyebrow.

"Not the ridiculous portrayals that man makes of them, but a tall blue humanoid. He was surprisingly very courteous and polite. What really bothered me was how none of the gods stepped forward and challenged him. They were nowhere to be seen."

Silence was held in the air. They had encountered the Olympian pantheon before some of them. Hades and Ares, and both proved to be even stronger than Superman, perhaps stronger than Darkseid. And yet from what they were hearing, there were gods in the cosmos that anted even those terrible beings.

"But how does all this tie to Bardock?" asked J'onn.

"That purple energy he used to destroy my lasso was exactly the same one Moscoe destroyed my sisters with."

"So Bardock is a Destroyer God?" questioned Superman. It would make sense the way the mysterious warrior toyed with them all.

"I doubt it. He would have been wearing the same outfit Moscoe was wearing. Camparri did say that Destroyers have disciples hat eventually succeed them."

"Destroyers... does that mean there are more?" Powergirl put in. Everyone froze.

"Where are the old gods?" Bardock shouted. He was standing over Hippolyta, who was battered and wounded and her staff broken. She stared up at him with fearful eyes. As soon as she heard the commotion on the island, and hearing how her best warriors were being thrashed by some stranger, she rode forth to deal with this nuisance herself. At first she took him to be a human given his Asian features but a quick scuffle with him proved he was anything but.

"I don't know. I cannot just summon them anytime I want."

Sighing through his nose, Bardock lowered his hand disappointed. But suddenly there was a great thunderclap and a flash of lightning struck the ground behind them. Bardock turned to see a few dozen people behind him. In front of them was a large man, about seven foot wearing furs on his body, his hands crackling with lightning. His long, white hair hung low over his eyes that were flaming with rage.

"How dare you set foot on my island?!" he shouted. Next to him was a woman holding a bow and arrow. She curled her mouth in disgust.

"Men...such filthy pigs. Such barbaric behaviour is exactly as expected of you."

Bardock drew his sword. His white aura disappeared, before he became enveloped in green fire. All of a sudden, he grew in size until he was nine foot in height, his spandex straining from his instant enlargement.

"Finally. You blasphemous dogs have gotten away with your theft far long enough."

Zeus's eyes widened in alarm, before he settled back into his scowl.

"You're one of them, aren't you? Why after all this time would they send you now?"

"The destroyer may be too lazy to get off his rear and do his job...but I am not so flawed."

Green electricity fizzed between his hair, while he crouched down. Lowering his head, he charged them, a sadistic smile plastered on his face.

"TODAY, I WILL FEAST ON OLYMPIAN BLOOD!"

Ares had the misfortune of becoming his first target...

"We can't let this go on. Bardock is a threat...there is no doubt about it. We are going to have to bring even more backup if we have any chance of defeating him." Batman stated seriously. "If he is a destroyer god, then there is a lot more than just the Earth at stake."

He glanced at Clark who was still rubbing his midsection.

"Have you still not recovered?!"

"I am but a lot more slower than usual. He didn't exactly give me a friendly jab you know?"

Batman sighed before turning to J'onn. "Did you do as I asked?"

Martian Manhunter nodded. "I used my full-powered mental attack on him. He didn't even notice me. His mental strength is just too powerful. He must be a learned telepath or a psychic."

Atom sat up, weakly propping himself on an elbow. "The energy he used was not any normal energy. I've never come across the likes of it in my life."

"Why, Captain?"

"It was so concentrated. If that thing detonated before I could absorb most of it, the devastation would have been greater than that of an atom bomb."

Marvel sighed. "Who knew such beings existed out there? I packed everything I had into that punch and he just casually blocked it! As if it was no threat to him at all."

Supergirl spoke up. "Well luckily I manged to scan him with my eyes before all that went down."

Batman jumped up, intrigued. "What did you see?"

"His biology isn't much different from mine or a humans. Except that he had a great muscle density, unlike anything I've seen before. He also had a tail."

Diana furrowed her eyebrows. "A tail."

"A brown, furry one. He's covering it with that sash of his."

Batman immediately took note of that. That could be his weakness! Of course he didn't know how it felt, but pulling any animal by the tail caused anguish no matter what. Tails are immediately connected by a complex series of nerves that connect to the brain. And seeing that Bardock was hiding it could mean that he was carefully guarding it. If someone like Clark pulled Bardock's tail, perhaps they could knock him out.

"The next time we see him, someone grab his tail. That could be his weak point."

Bardock grunted as he tossed a manacled and cursing Artemis into the seemingly endless white void. He'd managed to finally get all his captives aboard his ship. But said captives were not exactly happy about being thrown into his home-built Hyperbolic Time Chamber. Just one last Amazon and Old Dog. He turned to Hippolyta that had her wrists and ankles chained. Next to her was Zeus who had every limb of his manacled with enforced Katchin. One of his eyes was swollen while his body was covered in scuff marks and cuts oozing with blood. Not enough to kill him but enough for him to realise how sorely outclassed he was.

Bardock stepped towards them. "Is stealing that fruit worth it now you filthy, promiscuous old geezer? Did you really think that we didn't know where you were the whole time? Or that someone who couldn't stand for such villainous acts wouldn't eventually come for you?"

Zeus spat on the metal floor. His energy was completely drained and his body was weighed down by these heavy chains. For some reason he wasn't regenerating or recovering his power.

"How did you do this? Since when were mortals stronger than their own Kais?" He lurched forwards as he felt a boot embedded in his abdomen.

"First off, I am no mortal. Second, you only absorbed partial power from a Kai. But I am far stronger than any Kai in my normal state alone."

Zeus didn't get another say before he was thrown in front of the doorway and he again felt that same boot in his backside as Bardock kicked him into the white void. Bardock then turned to the Amazon queen.

"And what of you? You may not share in the crimes committed against the TRUE rulers of the multiverse. But why didn't you stop your tribe of biased women from raping men and boys that washed on your shores before mutilating them. And killing the babies when they were born male?"

Hippolyta glared at him in anger.

"Have you any idea how much we suffered at the hands of men? What they did to me and my people?"

"Does not justify what you did to those innocents. It only makes you far more vulgar than hose men." He grabbed her by her hair. She squealed as she felt her scalp tighten from his grip. He lifted her up and brought her to eye-level.

"Listen here you little insect. You think you are warriors? You are NOTHING! You lot aren't even real beings. You are just cheap imitations of creation, imbued with stolen power. Created by incestuous and blasphemous weaklings to serve their own delusions and play to their own amusements. You will stand in Lady Chronoa's court and she will sentence you to whatever punishment my master sees fit."

He threw her down in front of the doorway. Tears were streaming down her face as she felt her heart and her pride being shredded to pieces. She hated herself...she hated that the words of a MAN struck her so deep. That a MAN was able to make her this defenceless. That a MAN saw her cry. She hated that she was forced to play along to her gods' tunes. That she got caught up in their mess... That she had willingly let her people hurt so many innocent men out of her own spite for them and that now she was paying the price. She looked up at him.

"I have seen first hand the evils of rape. None, male or female, should ever be subject to such trauma. It is an abomination and an offence undeserving of any mercy in my eyes. It is even worse than murder in some cases. The victims seem alive on the outside...but the same cannot be said for the inside. If it is any consolation, even though you are unworthy of it, your daughter will not share in your punishment. Neither will the young girls as they all have not committed those disgusting crimes. But their lives will never be the same ever again after this drama."

"My daughter and her friends will come to stop you. She will come to rescue me."

"Oh I am counting on it that she does."

"What do you mean?"

"A great war is coming. One that will no doubt cast a shadow over all of existence. As much as I dislike it, she and her partners in pyjamas are wanted in Lady Chronoa's presence. Them coming to my ship will be a whole lot easier than me having to go and bring them here by force. I've already had enough trouble with you."

He grabbed her by the front of her dress, ready to throw her in after her masters and sisters. A jolt of fear ran through her heart as his hand brushed against her bosom. He took notice of this.

"You see? Now how do you think those males felt, you primitive peasant?! Just be grateful that it is not in my authority to see to your punishment. For I would have made your death nice and slow before sending you off to what awaits you in Otherworld."

With those harsh words, he tossed the arrogant queen into the room. Gathering her surroundings, she looked to see all her people, either dead or knocked out and chained. She saw the 'gods' who she had once admired and revered, all reduced to common prisoners. Zeus refused to look her in the eyes. She closed her eyes as she waited for judgement. For the first time in a long while she felt something different...regret.

Batman jumped as an alarm rang from inside his suit. Pulling out a data pad, he showed a satellite image of an island. Diana gasped as she recognised it immediately. So did her comrades. There were craters everywhere in it. The beautiful temples and houses were toppled and the mountains were levelled. Huge clouds of smoke rose from the craters as they bubbled with lava. This was very familiar handiwork.

"What has he done to my home?!"

"There no signs of life anywhere. The people have all disappeared."

"But why? What business could he possibly have on my island?"

"I just got another notification. There is a strange ship outside the planet." Batman pulled up another image.

Hal came closer. "I don't recognise the make."

Bruce turned back to Diana. "Well it looks like we know where our culprit is."

Diana tightened her fists as tears stung her eyes.

"I swear by Hera, Destroyer or not, HE WILL PAY!"

Whew. And done! It just got a little dark didn't it. If you're wondering why Bardock feels so strongly about 'you-know-what', you'll find out why in the Origins story. Still no update on it...because I haven't actually started typing it. But I'll get there I promise...hopefully... '_'

Anyways, let me know how I did in the review section. 'Cuz this is just the beginning!
