Zoro calmed himself before walking into class the next day. Sure Sanji didn't tell anyone about him being gay but it's a different thing if you found out someone is going around like some prostitute for the boys club. If anyone found out about that surely they would gossip about it right? Zoro open the classroom to see no one really paying him attention, no more than usual. Zoro sighs with relief. So Sanji hasn't said anything yet, yet being the key word. Sanji could change his mind any second so there is only one thing to do... ignore him like always.
Sanji walks into class, after greeting the ladies he sits in his seat on the far end of the room. He was kind of expecting Zoro to start staring at him, give him the death glare. He is just sitting there in his seat like always looking at the window occasionally looking at his desk. He's not going to talk to him is he? Well he's gotten good at that. He knows how considering how long they haven't fought with each other like they use to. What does he do?
He could try to talk but that didn't go well the last time. He'll just have to try again. He wants to help Zoro, wants to know what happened to him that he gives his body to anyone. He can't just let this be.
Sanji attempted to talk to Zoro multiple times and to no avail. Zoro made sure they weren't alone and when Sanji went to talk to him he'd ignore him. He still doesn't look at him.
The whole situation isn't all that bad, because of this Sanji got to understand Zoro a little more. Sanji calls Zoro a brute but that's not the whole story. He treats everyone the same and it may seem like he's a brute. He's also extremely kind hearted, no one would know if they weren't watching. It shocked him the first couple times but soon it was just pleasant to see. He couldn't help but find himself smiling at the moss head.
Sanji also learned that Zoro is actually quite studious. He's no genius but he's also not Luffy when it comes to school. Zoro does takes naps but that's mostly when the teachers are just rambling on and on about things that have nothing to do with learning. He also naps in between classes and when he's done with work. He's not the perfect student or person but Sanji is finding him to be an amazing person. He's like some hidden gem, beautiful and worth a lot when found.
After learning so much about Zoro, Sanji could only have one question in his head. Why? That's the only thing Sanji wants to know so there he is looking for him to talk to him.
It's been a week and a few days when he decided to talk to Zoro but the muscle head is like a ninja. He evaded Sanji even in class. He ran around like a mad man searches for the greenett.
He finally spotted him coming out of a random, empty class. He fixed his hair and clothes trying to make it look like he did nothing sexual. "Zoro!" Sanji shouts shocking Zoro as he ran to the man. Zoro sees Sanji and starts to panic. He looks around, trying to find an exit. There was only one choice so he took it. Sanji stood shocked as Zoro opened the window and jumped out. He wouldn't mind if they were on the first floor but they're not. They are on the third. Sanji didn't want to be beat so he follows. Sanji and Zoro go into a game of cat and dog.
"Lucky, Zoro and Sanji are playing tag." Luffy says laying his head on the table.
"What are you..?" Nami looks over Luffy to see Sanji chasing Zoro. "Those idiots." Nami says.
"But I am curious as to why they are playing together all of a sudden. They ignore each other for two, almost three years to play childish games."
"It is suspicious but as long as they aren't fighting each other who cares." Nami says forgetting about the boys immediately.
"I just want to talk!" Sanji yells.
"Then go talk to someone else! Leave me out of it!"
"I want to talk to you!" Sanji yells. He reaches out and almost got him. So close! Zoro laughs at Sanji comment but it wasn't a humorous laugh it was dark and sad, almost mocking.
"Well I don't! Leave me alone!" Zoro says. Sanji reaches again jumping forward a little and catches him. Sanji grabs a hold of Zoro's forearm. Stopping both in their track. Sanji looks around to see they ran to the classroom. Zoro looks back surprised at Sanji. That is the first time in a long time they have made eye contact. Zoro looks horrified to be touched and is concentrated on Sanji's hand. Large, with thin fingers but extremely pale, almost able to see the veins.
"I just want to know why." Sanji says in between heavy breaths.
"I don't know what you mean or what you're talking about but leave me alone. And let go." Zoro reaches forward touching Sanji sleeve to get his hand off him.
"I know you do. I want to help and I want to know why. Its been bothering me." Sanji holds on tighter. Zoro clenches his teeth. Sanji is the last person he wants to hear that from. It's like he doesn't remember what happened, like he forgot Zoro's confession.
Zoro starts to panic. Sanji has a surprisingly good and strong grip. Zoro tries to think of a way to get Sanji to let go. "Look there's a girl who needs help." Zoro says looking behind Sanji. It doesn't work. Zoro now has one option: pray to the God's he doesn't believe in that a girl needs help with something or anything.
After struggling for a while Sanji speaks up. "Just tell me. It's not hard."
"Easy for you to say, stupid bastard." Zoro says. A vein on Sanji's head pops out. He tries not to let it get to him. He knows that if he were in Zoro position he would act the same, maybe. He thinks he would. Zoro then lifts his leg up, Sanji to busy looking at Zoro to notice. Then Zoro's leg comes down on Sanji's leg. Sanji lets go to rub the spot and something in his snaps as he back kicks Zoro in the face. Zoro head falls to the side. Zoro cups his cheek as he glares at Sanji. Maybe that wasn't such a good choice. Zoro growls as he winds up and places a punch at Sanji face. Sanji stands up and they have a glaring contest. The air thick with tension.
Those who knew them knew how it's going to end but the others who didn't, want to know what will happen next?
Like a timer went off they both started to throw punches and kicks to each other. The females in the vicinity screamed. The guys were into it and some girls went to get a teacher.
They burst into the glassroom breaking the door. The whole class including their friends stare down at them on the floor. "You idiot I just want to know! Why is that so bad?" Sanji says on top of Zoro.
"Because it's you! I don't want to talk to you! Be near you! Or look at you!" Zoro shouts. Sanji pauses. Its that bad huh? Zoro takes the opportunity and headbutts Sanji, effectively getting him off. Zoro crawls to the door as he slowly stands up but face plants into the floor. He looks back to see Sanji holding onto one of his ankles as the other rubs his forehead. Sanji would be damned if he didn't figure this out. Zoro kicks Sanji's hand trying to get him to let go be Sanji just pulls him closer till he's on top again.
"Enough!" They hear being yelled. They both freeze and look up to see Sengoku, the headmaster of the school. He is frowning down at both of them. "My office, both of you." He points with his thumb behind him. "Now!" He yells. The two boys get up and walk out the classroom. "Other way Roronoa." Sengoku says. Zoro turns the other way.
"Idiot." Sanji says under his breath but everyone heard it.
"Say that again curly." Zoro says.
"Start fighting again and I'll deck both of you into the first floor." He says. They could feel is angry aura. He's not playing.
They walk to his office in silence. Both heads turned away from each other. Zoro is frowning and upset. This is not what he wanted the day to be like. Sanji on the other hand is grinning like a psycho. He and Zoro haven't called each other by their nicknames in so long it feels good to do that again.
