Zoro and Sanji stare at each other for while. Zoro knows what he means by "school," more specifically his little problem. Sanji really isn't letting this go. If he wants to talk to him then he should hurry and get it over with. "Fine but let me get something to drink first." Zoro opens the door and stops. He looks over his shoulder at Sanji. "Would you like something to drink?" Zoro hated this with every fiber of his being. "I have water, juice and soda." Zoro says.
"Juice." Sanji grins, he is kind of enjoying himself. Okay not kind of, he's really enjoying himself.
"Apple or orange?"
"Orange." Sanji says. Zoro nods and leaves. Sanji really likes this. Maybe they can become friends.
Zoro walks into the kitchen and as he gets their drinks he notices it's quiet. Zoro looks around to see it empty. 'Maybe Smoker left.' Zoro thought.
As he puts the orange juice carton away Smoker walks into the kitchen. "Hey, I'm heading out. Be good and..." Smoker stops speaking getting a look at his younger brother that's not so young anymore. "Try not to get into anymore fights." Smoker hugs Zoro making sure he doesn't spill the juice. He gives Zoro a kiss on the forehead and leaves. Well that visit was short. It made him sad but there's nothing he could really do about it.
He walks up to his room. "Here." Zoro says setting the cup in front of Sanji. Zoro takes a seat in front of him on the table. Sanji sees the door still open.
"Shouldn't you close the door?" Sanji asks pointing at the door.
"My brother left." Zoro says. Sanji lowers his hand as he lets makes an 'oh' with his mouth. "So what do you want?"
"I want to become friends." Sanji answer while Zoro laughs.
"What ever happen to 'all gays should be burned at the stake' or how you told Nami and Robin that you would rather feed gays to a frenzy of sharks than become friends with them."
"That was a long time ago." Sanji said.
"Oh really? When did you "grow up?" Zoro asks, the sarcasm not lost on Sanji.
"Well I started to understand a little more after freshman year."
"Good for you." Sanji caught his sarcasm. "Now you can leave. I'll show you out." Zoro stand up.
"Zoro! I really want to be your friend!"
"Well it's a lot to late! I don't need you as a friend." Zoro is shocked by Sanji's hurt expression. When Zoro said that it felt like the blonde was stabbed in the heart.
"What wrong with you Zoro?! You need a friend right now and I want to be yours! Why are you acting like this?" Sanji asks, still hurt.
"I have been fine for three years without you as a friend. I don't need you now."
"How would you know? It seems like you do, look at all those bruises they gave you?"
"It's not the first time. I've been by myself in this for a long time and I've been fine."
"Zoro you are not fine. No one would be, it's not good to bottle things up."
"So? It's not like talking to will fix the problem."
"True." As sad as that fact makes him. "But it's not about fixing the problem right now it's about making it so the problem doesn't break you."
"So the problem doesn't break me?" Zoro repeats.
"Yes. Now sit down." Sanji points at the seat in front of him. Zoro sits down and looks at Sanji. Good Zoro is somewhat following him. "Now, how do you feel about the situation?" Sanji asks voice calm now.
"What are you? My therapist?" Zoro mocks.
"Answer the damn question. You need to talk about it." Sanji says frowning at Zoro.
"But first I ask a question to you." Zoro says. Sanji thinks it over, Zoro could ask one of a million question he would not like to answer but if it gets Zoro to start talking he's going to have to risk it.
"Sure." Sanji did not feel confident.
"Why do you care so much all of a sudden? It better not be because you know my secret, if that's it then you can forget everything." Sanji's eye widen. So that is the reason, Zoro knew it but it still hurts. Zoro turns away frowning, he knew it. Sanji didn't want to lie but it looks like he doesn't have a choice.
"Why is that so bad?" Sanji quickly asks seeing Zoro's reaction.
"Because you don't really want to be my friend, you just feel like I need a friend and volunteered like it would be troublesome for the others. I don't need or want your charity." Zoro frowns, he looks hurt too. The blonde has never seen him look so hurt, even during that time the mosshead confessed and he was roughly rejected.
"It's the first reason why but I really do want to be your friend. I know your brother and sisters don't visit often and I think it would be good to have someone to talk to. I really do want to talk to you as a friend."
"How do you know that I have sisters?" Zoro asks. Uh-oh, he's only ever met Smoker, earlier. The photos but he didn't look at them long enough to know and if Zoro asks about them he'd fail. Plus for all he knows those could have been pictures of him and his cousins or something. The truth is the only way.
"Me, Nami and Robin saw you and Smoker. We followed you and heard everything."
"Thats low. I expect Nami and somewhat Robin to do that but you."
"Yeah that was low of me but as soon as I felt wrong about it I left." Sanji looks down. He does feel bad about that. "I do want to be your friend. I know you must feel lonely. I just want to be there for you. Can you at least let me try?" Sanji pleads. "I'm not going to give up." Sanji adds, his only option now is to be stubborn. Zoro made a face like he was an annoying bug.
"Fine." Zoro says. If he says he's not going to give up he believes it. He seen it happen before. Zoro takes a deep breath. "I don't like it."
"Don't like what?" Sanji asks.
"The situation?" Zoro raises his eyebrow.
"Right." Sanji forgot. They got off track for a while there. "Then why are you doing it."
"Brandon said it was the only way he'll let me join again. At first it was just the kendo club with their sexual frustrations but then it spread to the other sports teams."
"You said it happened after your confession?"
"Yeah. After the weekend I went to start on training and they kicked me out. I tried to get back on and they said this was the only way so I did it."
"Didn't that seem weird?" Sanji points out, they can't just do that. But then again, they were all still first years.
"Wouldn't you do anything to be in the cooking club or baking if you got kicked out?"
"Point made." Sanji says. If he was told he was kicked out he would do what he can to get back in without anyone knowing. He wouldn't have thought about it clearly. He would have been desperate.
