Sanji stood there looking at the door bell of Zoro's house. He was going to do it. He knows by now that Zoro must be fed up with Sanji coming almost everyday to see him, at least try to talk to him but he's a stubborn bastard and wont stop till he can talk to Zoro. Zoro doesn't even have to say anything. He doesn't even want Zoro to say anything just listen and he'll leave. No doubt to be embarrassed. To think he so easily believed Brandons' words. And every time he thought about telling Zoro his feelings he couldn't help but blush to himself. Zeff started to notice and call him out on it which just made the blush worse. Zeff enjoyed it too, the sadist.
Sanji rang the bell, knocked on the door and shouted like Romeo to Juliet. Nothing. But he wasn't going to quit here. There had to be another way, there always is. So he thought about it as he rang the doorbell obnoxiously. One way or the other today will be the day he talks to Zoro.
Sanji took a break from ringing the bell and thought of a way to Zoro. Wait, why didn't he think of this sooner? The backyard. He could go back there. It will most likely shock Zoro, and it's a change of pace. As he past the flower bed on the side of the house, the flowers still as beautiful as ever, he started to hear singing. Sadly he didn't understand it.
Just like
Snow that hasn't completely melted
In the shade
I go on living with these feelings inside me
Hey, please tell me how I'm supposed to
shut this love off with words
Your everything has lost it's tomorrow
And is now wandering eternity
Along with me who stopped in time
Unable to say goodbye
Just like a spell that still won't break
Or some kind of curse, I'm still carrying some heavy luggage
Hey, what kind of tomorrow am I supposed to for in this town?
AAAAAHHHHH!
Zoro pauses in his singing. Sanji felt enamored by his singing even if he had no clue what was being sung. It sounded nice, even if sad.
My cold tears freeze in the sky
They pretend to be kind, right when they fall on my face
Two people are torn
That's all there is to this story
Even If your everything loses its shape one day
You'll always live inside me
As I try to move forward again
Even though I couldn't say goodbye
You'll always live inside me
Sanji walks around the corner to see Zoro sitting on the engawa. He's never heard Zoro sing before. And it was in a different language. It sounded like a sad song and Sanji doesn't want to forget it as he want to know what it translated to.
He almost forgot why he's there. Sanji walks up to Zoro, seeing that Zoro is cleaning real swords. He didn't know that Zoro had them. He seemed to concentrate very hard as he cleaned the blade. Zoro saw him in the reflection and turned his head. Sanji jumped in shock by the way Zoro turned his head in an instant. Sanji saw that Zoro had tears in his eyes. What made him sad?
Oh right, maybe the song did. So he was right, the song is sad. It made him curious. Zoro frowned and took his headphone off.
"Listen Zoro I-" Sanji starts taking the opportunity.
"Shut up! I don't want to hear it." Zoro shouts, stopping Sanji from continuing.. He starts to collect his things and put them inside. Damn it! If this goes on he'll need to wait some more for an opportunity for this again. "You have no idea what you did. I thought I was helping you but... to think you were just making fun off me! I should have known! A ladies man like you would never..."
No, this is it. He's just going to do it. He wants to talk to Zoro and he's not giving him a chance. "Look Zoro, I'm sorry! I screwed up!" Sanji shouts. Zoro flinches and Sanji sees that he's slowed his movements. Perfect. He should have lead with that before. "I just wanted you to join the club again and I thought it would help. I didn't know I would make it worse." This time Zoro stops and looks at him.
"How would that have helped me?" Zoro asks.
"A part of me thought it would and another part really did want to know why I reacted to you." Zoro raised his eyebrow at him. Sanji just blushed. He can't believe he said that outside. The neighbors could most likely hear him. If they were home. "Can I please come in to talk you? I want to tell you my side." Zoro looks at him. Fully looks at him. He seems to have some bags under his eyes and his hair is a little messy. His eyes are pleading, he also really sounds like he's sorry and does want to talk.
"Fine." Zoro says but he's not taking chances. No sex and the cook can not go into his room. Sanji climbs on top of the engawa. Before going inside he takes his shoes off and walks in. He goes to the front door to set his shoes down. As he stands up he notices the papers he's given to Zoro. He didn't take them into his room. Why? He goes back to the living room to see Zoro on the couch cleaning his sword. He goes to sit next to Zoro but Zoro stops him with a glare. "Over there." He points to the seat across from him and the coffee table. Like a rejected puppy Sanji goes over. He can't have everything at once again. "So what's your side of the story?" Zoro asks. Still cleaning the sword.
"After talking to you, I knew that kendo is important to you so I had to go through with it. The day I didn't show up I went to go to visit Brandon at the hospital. I asked him to let you go into the club again and he said that I had to do that." Sanji says looking down at his lap in shame. Zoro lowers his hands, taking a break from cleaning the blade. He looks up at Sanji.
Is he serious? If so then, "idiot." Zoro says. Sanji looks up and him and their eyes meet for a split second before Zoro turns his head away. "Why would you believe anything he says."
"I thought I could help. I'm really sorry. I didn't think he would do that, and I'm sorry I didn't help." Sanji says lowering his head again. Zoro just stared at him before sighing.
"It's not your fault." Zoro says. He goes back to cleaning the blade. Sanji looks up in shock. How is it not his fault? Zoro knew that's what he's asking in his head. "If what you said is true then that means you visited him on Thursday. Which means its two days after I did." Sanji look even more confused. "I quit."
