The sky is dark as it snowed thick snowflakes, covering the streets and sidewalk with powdered snow. Sanji sighs as the weather reflect his feelings. He's very depressed that Zoro hasn't come back yet. New Years day came and went, the blonde was hoping to spent that day with his boyfriend, maybe kiss at midnight, and watch the fireworks for the new year. Sadly, he didn't get that. Just working at the Baratie. It's okay though it's fine, he'll get to see Zoro soon and then they can spent the day together alone.
"Sanji ~" one of the chefs wine.
"What is it Carne?" Sanji asks, upset about his daydreaming being interrupted. How his heart aches for Zoro.
"Can you stop looking out the window and come help us. Zeff is freaking out." he explains, obviously worried. It being said like that makes the blonde curious.
"Okay." Sanji says getting up and going to the kitchen. That doesn't sound like Zeff at all, he never worries or thinks about the detail, he does that.
He walks in the kitchen to see that the grumpy old man is indeed worrying, and scrutinizing everyone's work, more so than usual. There's not enough flavor, it's to plain, there's not enough portions, the desert is too sweet, the other dessert is not sweet enough. Sanji's curly eyebrow raises at the sight.
"Old man," Sanji says trying to get the man out of whatever trance he's in but instead the old man gets his sights on him. Zeff goes to him, hands on shoulders shaking Sanji's whole body.
"Did you reorganize the tables? There's should be enough for eight people." he says.
"It's already set. You set it when we closed the restaurant for the guests. Why are you being so weird?" Sanji asks getting the old man to let him go. He was even told to get dressed again, in a cleaner suit. Which was a little hurtful because all of his suits are clean.
"The customers are powerful, he can make the Baratie disappear if he doesn't like us. I heard he's done it before." Zeff says sounding and looking paranoid as he smoothed Sanji's suit down making sure there are no wrinkles.
"Yes, well we've wowed everyone before I'm sure this wouldn't be any different." Sanji says confidently as he pushes Zeff away slightly away from him. This is really freaking him out.
"Good. Then go out and wait for them, it's better for you to talk to them rather than the others." He says leaning to Sanji. The blonde nods, he's the most normal looking and normal acting. He's the best choice. As the face of the Baratie he's got to step up.
"I'll let you guys know." Sanji says walking away, taking a last look at Zeff before the door closes. He knows they have gotten all sorts of people, famous celebrities, famous restaurant critics, even small critics and internet famous people. Every single person has loved the food, he knows they will be fine.
Sanji sits down again at a random chair near the huge windows. He looks at the table area to see that most of the tables are clear besides the build in tables that line the walls, and windows of the restaurant, in the middle are the merged tables enough for ten people. Zeff made the table in his rush. Set the fanciest table cloth, got plate mats, the best plates, the shiniest utensils, the cleanest glasses and the best chairs for them to sit on. He even set flowers on the table, in vases. But it does look nice. Sanji looks up as the light get turned on. It must have gotten dark enough. Sanji looks out the window, the street lamps on. The snow still falling thickly. It looked beautiful just like this. Makes him want to snuggle up in a warm blanket with a cup of hot chocolate and cookies. He wished Zoro could see this but he's having fun with his family at a hot springs.
Nami would be so jealous if she knew. She's been complaining about the cold for days.
Sanji sits up as he sees a car come to a stop in front of the restaurant. A family of three comes out the car, all dressed up in fancy clothing. Sanji gets up and makes his way to the kitchen to tell everyone. It seem to make Zeff even more jittery and paranoid. When he got back out he saw them still standing around. The party was for eight, so they must be waiting for the other five. Sanji looks down at himself to make sure he looked okay. He didn't want to give Zeff a reason to freak out more than he already is.
Soon another black car comes driving to a stop behind the other car. The car looked expensive so they must be serving someone famous. Or maybe a critic but he wouldn't have been acting like he is now. Who is this person that will make Zeff act that way?
Sanji's jaw hits the floor when a familiar face comes out the driver's seat. The familiar golden eyes, slicked black hair, goatee, black suit with white shirt and maroon tie and handkerchief. Zoro's father is here. Coming out of the passenger seat is his boyfriends older brother, Smoker, also came out in a navy blue suit, in a white shirt and tie with handkerchief. Sanji moves closer to the window. What is his family, well father and brother, doing here? It must be for the family of three. Sanji continues to watch as Smoker and Mihawk make their way to open the back seat doors. Sanji's jaw hits the floor again as the twin girls comes out. Bonney comes out in a dark blue long A shaped dress with v-cut. Perona comes out in a black long off the shoulder dress with black bow. Both girls have their hair up, Boney in a ponytail and Perona half up. If they are here where is Zoro? All wearing matching coats on top of their dresses and suits.
Thinking about it now the daughter of the two seemed to be familiar but where? He's sure that he's seen her but it's not coming to him.
Not that he's got time to think about it, then Smoker helps Zoro out of the car. The marimo, his boyfriend, came out in a full suit. A suit! All black with tie. A white shirt. Zoro has his hair slicked back. Of course he has his earrings on and a green coat with fur.
Their guest is Zoro's family.
Sanji watches as Zoro's family goes to great the other family. Smoker hugs the girl and her parents, smiling at them. He must know them. Then Smoker turns to his family and introduces them to each other. From what the blonde can tell since he can't hear anything.
When did Zoro get back?
