Yukin couldn't believe it. His mother brought him to the place that his father disappeared. He walked inside the burned building and had a look around. All the memories of his missing father came rushing at him.
"What is this place?" Nate asked.
"This place belonged to Yukin's father." Eli said. "This was his own warehouse where he worked on personal projects and such. This place was left since Yokon's disappearance." Yukin thought a lot about his father and missed him greatly. His father was like his hero when he was a kid. Things weren't the same for Yukin when it all happened.
"Poor Yukin. Who knows what's going on through his head." Augustus said. They weren't the only ones worried. Lana followed after them and stayed out of sight as she took a look inside.
"My poor Yukin..." Lana said.
"Mom, I don't get it. Why did you bring me here?" Yukin questioned.
"Yukin, do you remember how things were when your father disappeared?" Yuzu said.
"Why would you even ask me that? I might have been young, but of course I remember. I wasn't the same after he disappeared." Yukin said.
"I know. After your father was gone, you weren't able to smile for such a long time." Yuzu said. She remembered it all well. Yukin had a hard time dealing with the fact that his father was gone. She remembered all the times she passed Yukin's room when he was a kid and just sat in his bed in misery. "What happened to your father broke both of our hearts, but I had to stay strong for your sake."
"What is the point of this?" Yukin said.
"To remind you of so much." Yuzu said. "You were upset about it, but you found a way to push through it."
"I didn't exactly get over it, you know." Yukin said. He reached under his shirt and pulled out the broken medal. "I came back here and found this here." That piece of medal was a clue to Yukin. When Yukin came to the warehouse when he was younger, he dug around for anything that could be salvaged. When he was looking, he found the piece of medal and wondered what it could be. "This medallion, or whatever it is, is what I found. I had no clue what it was, but I always believed that if I would find the other half, I could find the truth of what happened to him. Everyone might think he perished in that fire, but I don't believe that."
"I understand that. You might wish to know what happened to your father, but you also uphold your father's beliefs." Yuzu said. "You believe that dueling should only be for fun. Now, you have to use it to face a dangerous threat."
"I still don't get what you're trying to tell me. What does Dad have to do with what I'm dealing with right now?" Yukin said.
"I know it's a tough time you're dealing with, but I'm sure you can get through it just like you got through your father's disappearance." Yuzu said. "Soto might have lied about being your friend, Zoey might be missing, but you can't let that stop you from doing what you're doing. You have to continue to duel the way you always know."
"Continue to duel the way I know?" Yukin questioned.
"Take Eli and Alyssa here for example." Yuzu said with all eyes on them.
"Us?" Alyssa said.
"Where are you going with this, Yuzu?" Eli questioned.
"They're both torn up about Zoey." Yuzu said. "They love Zoey more than anything, but Eli is holding up strong because he believes that she'll come back, just like you believe your father will come back." Yukin didn't realize it until now, but Eli does seem a little calm about Zoey's disappearance.
"Well, I am greatly concerned about Zoey, but I know she will come back." Eli said.
"Yeah. Zoey's a strong girl. She'll be back." Alyssa said. "It's because we know you can rescue her, Yukin."
"I can?" Yukin said. He was starting to see what his mother was trying to tell him. "Well, it's not that I don't want to fight. These people do need to be stopped. However, I'm not sure I can trust Renji."
"I see... Whether you trust him or not shouldn't matter as much." Yuzu said. "You need to show these people at Promin Academy, people like Soto, what dueling is really about. I'm sure you can get them to change. Your father was able to."
"What are you talking about?" Yukin asked.
"Your father always believed that dueling should be about bringing joy and happiness." Yuzu said. "I remember when I first met your father..."

Flashback
"I got caught into a little trouble with some thugs. I thought I was at risk until Yokon came and helped me out." Yuzu was on her way until a few thugs came at her. She was caught in an alley and had no way of escaping as the thugs had her surrounded. She didn't know what to do.
"Pardon me, gentleman. I don't think that's how you should treat a lady." All of them looked to see Yokon was there to help her out.
"Get lost."
"Yeah, keep walking. This has nothing to do with you."
"I beg to differ." Yokon said as he held up his duel disk.
"Your father dueled all of them. Not only did he save me, but he also managed to spread some joy to those punks. From seeing him duel, his attitude, and much more, I fell in love with your father on first sight." Yuzu was amazed with what Yokon did. There were lights, dazzle, and he spread joy to others. He showed them how dueling should really be. Seeing all that, she fell in love with him.
End of Flashback
...
"Your father got through to those guys and told them that dueling is about fun and enjoyment. It shouldn't be used to hurt people. You tried your best to follow in his footsteps, uphold his beliefs, and you're much like him." Yuzu said.
"Really?" Yukin questioned.
"Yes. You're a lot like your father." Yuzu said. "I'm sure you can convince Soto and the rest of this Promin Academy what dueling should really be about. Duel to stop this madness, but also duel for the way you always have." Yukin could see what his mother was trying to do now. No matter how bad the situation is, Yukin has to duel for the reasons he always has.
"I think I get it now." Yukin said. "Thanks, Mom." All of them were glad to hear Yukin really will fight.
"I knew my Yukin couldn't stay depressed. My future mother-in-law is quite the motivator." Lana said as she was happy to see Yukin cheered up.
"I have something for you." Yuzu said as she reached in her pocket and pulled out a spell card. She handed it to Yukin and Yukin was a little surprised to see it.
"Joyfulness? Wasn't this Dad's favorite card?" Yukin asked.
"It was because it embodied how your father felt about dueling and how he thought dueling should be." Yuzu said. "It's a spell card that increases the attack points of all monsters on the field by one-hundred. It's a card that brings joy to others. I'm sure he would want you to have it." Yukin didn't know what to say. He accepted the card and now it will feel like his father is in his deck.
"Thanks, Mom." Yukin said. He turned to Eli and the kids. "I promise that I'll bring Zoey back." They all know that Yukin will find a way.

The Next Day
Yukin headed for LID to meet with the others. He walked through the halls and readied himself for whatever might happen.
"I knew you would who up." Yukin looked ahead and spotted Siegrain there.
"Siegrain...? I thought your sister was going to try and talk you out of this." Yukin said.
"She did give me a bit of a talking, but I'm all clear to go." Siegrain said. "Come on. Everyone is probably waiting for us." The two of them went on ahead and went into Renji's office, where everyone else.
"Look at that. The two weakest members of the team finally showed up." Sylvester said.
"Says that guy who holds the most losses here." Siegrain said.
"Drewsin, are you doing okay?" Yukin asked.
"I am thanks to Renji's medical team." Drewsin said. "With this special cast, I'll be able to keep dueling while my arm is healing."
"That's good to know." Klaus said. "From what I've heard, you're a pretty good duelist yourself. I can't wait to see what you can do."
"Good. You're all here." Renji said as he stepped in with Ristly.
"Please... As if you need anyone else but me." Sylvester said. Yukin noticed Ristly and found it rather strange that he was here.
"What's the kid doing here, Renji?" Yukin asked.
"That's easy. Ristly is coming with us." Renji said like it was no big deal, but some of them were shocked. Ristly's just a kid, the youngest of any of them.
"This isn't daycare, you know." Sylvester said.
"Then again, Ristly did win in his division, and he's got some skills." Siegrain said.
"Trust me... Ristly will be a fine addition to the team." Renji said. "Now that everyone is here, we can get started. At the top of this building will be a chopper that will take us to Nitro City."
"Hold on. Nitro City?" Shun said with annoyance. "I thought we were heading for Promin Academy."
"So did I. Why would we go to a place called Nitro City?" Yukin said.
"Well, for Yukin's benefits, Zoey is actually there." Renji said. Hearing where Zoey was turned out to be a shocker to Siri, Yukin, and Klaus. "Look here." Renji brought up a video that showed Zoey with the mysterious Huo before they vanished. "That's what really happened to your friend, Yukin."
"Hang on. That was Huo she was with." Drewsin said.
"Who's Huo?" Siegrain asked.
"He's a mysterious duelist, who think we have something to do with his friend missing. Someone named Rini." Drewsin said.
"We were able to trace the energy and it leads to Nitro City." Renji said. "That's where we'll find Zoey. Plus, we can make allies there who might join us. While all of you are skilled duelists, we're going to need more firepower. Thanks to Yukin showing the way, elemental summoning is our best weapon to use against Promin Academy. That doesn't mean we're going to need to add more power to our ranks."
"Forget it. This is a waste of time." Shun said. "I stuck around because I thought we were heading straight to Promin Academy. I'll go there myself." Shun turned around and was ready to walk out.
"Wait, Shun." Drewsin said as he grabbed his arm. "I know you're desperate to save Brui. I want to save her too, but this is more than the two of us can handle alone. Going to Promin Academy alone would be foolish. We need help. These are people who are willing to help us. We can trust them." Shun hated that he has to wait around, but he trusted Drewsin.
"That reminds me of something." Yukin said as he reached for his deck. "I've been meaning to give this back to you." He held out Shadow Shudamin to Drewsin. "This was originally yours." Drewsin was tempted to take it back, but Drewsin pushed it back.
"No, Yukin. I gave it to you because I trust you. Plus, from what I've seen, your Sapphire Serapho combined with him make a powerful force. Shadow Shudamin is better with you than with me." Yukin was impressed that Drewsin would willingly give his best card away like that.
"Well, now we have those matters settled, we should get going." Renji said. "Nitro City is actually an interesting place. Having allies there would be most beneficial to us."
"What do you mean?" Yukin questioned.
"You'll see for yourself." Renji said. "It's time we got going." Renji showed them the way to the chopper at the top floor. All of them loaded inside and were ready to go. Once they were inside, the ceiling opened up and the chopper was cleared for take off. It left the ground and headed out to Nitro City. Yukin's hoping he'll be able to find Zoey there, but there is much more that awaits them there.
