Yukin got himself in a real situation. Not only is he and his friends have been arrested. Now, he's got himself in a duel against the kingpin of the facility: Jirobo Toknetsu. Jirobo has already taken a huge lead over Yukin. He has summoned Card-Guard Lightning Shower and has 3000LP. He's also had a trap called Nothing Special, which prevents Yukin from special summoning. All Yukin has is 1500LP and will lose all of it on his next turn.
"This is bad. If Yukin can't special summon, he won't be able to elemental summon." Siegrain said.
"Elemental summon? What's that?" Ryo asked.
"If Yukin doesn't do something, you won't get the chance to see it." Klaus said.
"But what can he do? As soon as he draws a card on his next turn, Lightning Shower will finish him with his ability." Sylvester said. It wasn't looking good for Yukin at all.
"I'm just going to summon a monster facedown and end my turn." Yukin said. The other inmates laughed at Yukin because it looked like it was going to be a humiliating loss.
"You should have just handed over your cards when you had the chance." Jirobo said. "It would have spared you the humiliation. Now, come your next turn, this duel will be over."
"We'll see about that." Yukin said. "I'm confident my deck won't let me down and will find a way for me to survive."
"You believe in your cards? How foolish can you be?" Jirobo said. "I'll prove to you that what you claim is just nonsense. Due to the effects of my Nothing Special trap, I must choose not to draw a card to keep the effects active. That's what I'll do."
"You're not going to draw a card? You don't have any in your hand now." Yukin said.
"I don't have the need to believe in my cards like you do. I'm ending this duel here." Jirobo said. "First, Lightning Shower, destroy his only monster!" Lightning Shower attacked with a discharge of lightning. It destroyed Yukin's only monster, Light Ray Scorpion, and easily destroyed it. "That ends my turn. Draw your card and finish this duel."
"Don't think it's the end." Yukin said as he was getting ready to draw a card.
"This is it. If Yukin doesn't do something, Lightning Shower is going to deal 1500points of damage, and that's all he has left." Sylvester said.
"I hate to say it, but it's over." Ryo said.
"No way Yukin can pull this off." Shiro said.
"Don't count Yukin out. He always finds a way to turn it around." Siegrain said as he still believed in his friend.
"I draw!" Yukin said. He drew his card, but they thought this was the end.
"Lightning Shower's ability activates! This duel is over!" Jirobo said. Lightning Shower's ability activated and caused lightning to rain down on Yukin. This could be the end, but Yukin smirked.
"This isn't the end of anything." Yukin said. "I activate the ability of the card I just drew: Spooky Goat! By sending this card to the graveyard, I won't be taking damage outside of battle this turn!" When he discarded that card, a goat wearing a dark cloak and ominous glowing eyes appeared over him and was able to block the attack.
"It can't be!" Jirobo said as he and others were shocked that he actually drew a card that saved him.
"Told you he finds a way to turn it around!" Siegrain said.
"Calm down. He only bought himself one turn." Shiro said.
"Your friend speaks the truth. That was just mere luck." Jirobo said. "All you did was bought yourself another turn."
"Actually, I think I have what I need." Yukin said. "I told you before that I believe in my deck and it came through."
"That had nothing to do with believing. That was just luck. That's all it ever comes down to." Jirobo said.
"And what makes you say that?" Yukin questioned.
"Hmm... I was once like you, boy." Jirobo said. "I was a dueling champ. I believed in my cards before and in turn, I won, had the audience cheering for me, and I was at the top. That all changed one day. I was in the toughest duel of my career. I had a chance to change it all around if I just drew the right card. I did believe, but believing isn't enough. It wasn't the card I needed and I ended up loosing. I didn't just lose that duel. I lost my fans, my career, and much more. Around these parts, people only respect those who win. I believed in my deck and I ended up loosing everything."
"I see..." Yukin said as he had a better understanding. "Do you really think it was because you didn't believe in your deck enough? This city is just warped. Those people only respect winners. I think that's a little messed up. You shouldn't stop believing in your deck because of that."
"Be silent! You don't know what that's like!" Jirobo said. "You may have bought yourself another turn, but it won't do you any good."
"Let's find out." Yukin said. "I'm summoning Seesaw Hopper to the field!" Yukin summoned a grasshopper that moved its body like a seesaw with it having 1100atk points. "His special ability will really come in handy. Once a turn, he can't be destroyed in battle and I don't take any damage. When that effect does kick in, I'm allowed to take one card from my graveyard and add it to my hand."
"I see... Brilliant!" Ryo said.
"What are you talking about?" Sylvester said.
"You mean you don't see it?" Shiro said. Sylvester really didn't.
"This is why you're probably the weakest member of the team." Klaus said with Sylvester getting offended.
"It's like this..." Shiro said. "If Jirobo attacks Seesaw Hopper, Seesaw Hopper will allow Yukin to get back one card from his graveyard. His first voice will probably be Spooky Goat to block Lightning Shower's ability."
"But all Jirobo has to do is not attack. That way Lightning Shower's ability will finish Yukin with no problems." Sylvester said.
"That's not it exactly." Ryo said. "The key is Jirobo's Nothing Special continuous trap. That trap forces Jirobo to attack with his monsters to attack if he can. He doesn't have much of a choice. When he does attack, that will trigger Seesaw Hopper's ability."
"Yukin's created a cycle that will allow him to avoid taking damage from Lightning Shower's ability." Shiro said.
"I get it now! So Yukin is safe!" Sylvester said.
"Not exactly. There is one way for Jirobo to break it." Siegrain said.
"He has to draw a card and hope he gets a monster to destroy Seesaw Hopper." Ryo said. "When he does, his Nothing Special won't work until his next turn."
"Yukin's trying to get him to believe in his deck again." Siegrain said.
"Whats' it going to be, Jirobo?" Yukin said. "Are you just going to attack and stop me from special summoning or will you draw a card?" Jirobo was in a mentally tough situation. He discarded his beliefs of his deck coming through to him. He doesn't think he can draw the card he needs to turn this around, but if he doesn't do something, it will give Yukin an edge and give him another chance to win this duel.
"It seems I have no choice. I will draw." Jirobo said, but he had his doubts it will help him. "I draw!" He drew his next card. Jirobo was actually surprised at what he drew. "I don't believe it! I drew a card that might be able to change this whole duel."
"See?" Yukin said as he seemed satisfied with it. "Your deck came through. You never know how a duel might turn out, but you can always draw the card you need to turn the whole duel around." Jirobo thought he had the duel already won until Yukin pulled off something that threw his whole strategy off course. Now, he's drawn the one card that could change it all.
"Perhaps you might be on to something, Yukin. Of course, we'll see soon enough." Jirobo said. "I activate Card-Guard Turnaround! This spell card allows me to summon a Card-Guard tuner monster as well as one from my graveyard. I summon Card-Guardian Strength with Card-Guard Moon in my graveyard." The two card-design plates came on the field with them both having 200atk points. "Card-Guard Strength allows me to bring back another Card-Guard. I summon Card-Guard Fiend!" His Card-Guardian came back to the field. "Now, I tune my level two Card-Guardian Strength with Moon and Fiend!" His three Card-Guards came together as Strength broke into two circles and turned the other two into stars. "Obtain my victory with a sudden surprise! I synchro summon Card-Guard Ace Hole!" He summoned out a second Japanese fighter dressed in purple and wielded twin swords with it also having 2000atk points.
"A monster with 2000 and 3500atk points?! I hate to say it, but this might be it!" Siegrain said.
"I'm not allowed to attack with Ace Hole first, but I can easily fix that." Jirobo said. "Lightning Shower, attack his Seesaw Hopper!"
"Don't forget that Seesaw Hopper can avoid being destroyed and I take no damage!" Yukin said. A barrier came around his grasshopper and it avoided being destroyed. "I'm also allowed to bring Spooky Goat back to my hand."
"But that also means that Ace Hole can attack and destroy your monster!" Jirobo said. Ace Hole charged at Seesaw Hopper and slashed both swords against it for it to be destroyed. Yukin's life points also dropped to 600. "I end my turn."
"It's my turn!" Yukin said as he drew a new card. "I know Lightning Shower's effect kicks in, but I can just send Spooky Goat back to the graveyard and block that damage." He discarded the card again and blocked the attack.
"At least he can special summon now since Nothing Special can't work this turn." Klaus said.
"But if he doesn't end it on this turn, it could be all over for him." Shiro said.
"Not to worry. This duel is just about over." Yukin said with confidence.
"How do you plan to do that?" Jirobo questioned.
"Watch. I play Barrier Reef Crab in my spell and trap card zone." Yukin said as he placed a card there.
"You're using it as a spell or trap?!" Jirobo said. A giant transparent hermit crab with a blue shell covered in coral came out and around Yukin's field.
"When it's placed there, all my water attribute monsters are protected from your spell and trap cards." Yukin said. "Next, I'm summoning Flame Leon to the field!" He summoned out his lion with it having 1000atk points. "Thanks to Barrier Reef Crab's ability, I can also move it on to my monster field." He summoned out his crab with it having 600atk points.
"What are you going to do with those two?" Jirobo said.
"Win this duel." Yukin said. "I fuse the forces of fire with the forces of water! Come together as one!" The elements swirled around the respective monster and the two came together. "I elemental summon Sapphire Serapho!" Serapho came out on the field with his 2500atk points.
"What is that?!" Jirobo said as those who have never seen elemental summoning before is quite shocked.
"You're about to get a close look. Sapphire Serapho, take out Ace Hole with Spiral Blue Flame!" Yukin said. Serapho unleashed the attack and blasted Ace Hole with it. "When Sapphire Serapho deals damage, the damage is doubled!" Jirobo got blasted by the attack as his life points dropped to 2000. "And now, I'm activating my Catastrophe Climax spell card! By sending Blaze-Eyes Sun Dragon to the graveyard, one monster in your graveyard is selected at random."
"From my graveyard?" Jirobo questioned. A light from his graveyard shined and Card-Guard Fiend was selected. "Card-Guard Fiend?"
"That's right. Since your monster is weaker than the monster I discarded, Sapphire Serapho gets to attack again, and he gains attack points equal to my dragon's." Yukin said. "Since my dragon had 2500atk points, Sapphire Serapho's attack points double."
"They double?!" Jirobo said as he couldn't believe it. Serapho's attack points increased all the way to 5000.
"Sapphire Serapho, attack one more time and end this!" Yukin said. Serapho unleashed his attack once more and blasted Lightning Shower with it. Jirobo was blown back by the attack as his life points dropped all the way to zero. Many were shocked that Jirobo was beaten. They were even more shocked when he started laughing. "That was a good duel, Yukin."
"It actually was. I thought my victory was guaranteed, but you found a way to prevail." Jirobo said. "One draw really did change everything." Yukin walked over and held out his hand to him. Jirobo took it and stood back up. "Yukin, you truly are a skilled duelist and a great young man. Thank you for reteaching me to believe in my cards."
"It was nothing." Yukin said. Everyone appeared to have enjoyed the duel with how they all cheered and applaud for them. Still, Yukin can't fully enjoy the victory. 'I may have won, but I still need to find a way out of here. I need to find Zoey because I have a horrible feeling things are going to get worse before they get better.'
